A New Life in a New Body: The Funeral
A New Life in a New Body
The Funeral
Five Years before... Mikes Funeral
Sherri
He's dead the funerals today I just hope he is in a better place. I contacted all of his friends and family surprisingly his family is all dead. He never mentioned it, you'd think he would have known and went to the funerals. I never saw any pictures of his family either.
It is to be held in the towns finest graveyard. There is a clock tower and a bunch of trees I checked them all twice I don't see anything. The ceremony goes on for several hours we all say something about his life a person. Even his friends didn't know much about him. Hell only the closest actually show up everyone else is too busy or so they say.
After it started I was crying, he is the only person I have ever truly felt close to. I gave him a twenty one gun salute after everyone else left. He deserved better all that was buried was just some of his personal possessions and a flag. That was what I did he dissevered a military funeral not a civilian one.
I read a news paper today about a dead mafia member found in the clock tower. The attack sounded like it was Mike's handy work. Quick, quiet, and subtle it sounds just a little convenient but I think he was watching over me. I let my guard down yesterday I could have died, the guy had a sniper rifle.
"What are you thinking about," Mike asked.
"The funeral you had," I replied.
"I remember that," he responded.
"You do," I asked.
"Yes I remember it like yesterday," he replied.
Mike
It was a sunny day, during the summer, as well as a sad day. I had faked my own death and I intended to watch from a bench where it would look as if I was a bird watcher. I then saw a guy carrying a briefcase. He went into the clock tower, I deiced to follow him. I followed quietly behind him when I got up to where he was he was setting up a sniper rifle. I stalked up behind him and snapped his pretty little neck.
I knew he intended to kill Sherri. I couldn't let that happen so after that I took up his sniper rifle and emptied it manually. I then looked through the scope in a prone position and watched the whole procession. I loved her too bad I couldn't let her know I was.
"So in a way I had went to my own funeral alive," I said simply.
"Why did you come to it," she asked.
"I felt I needed a family member there," I replied.
"So you went," she said.
"Enough of this I came here because I need to talk to the leaders," I said.
"Alright let's go," she said.
Hopefully this turns out all right.
