As Dr. Kalenis busied herself, Kelly shuddered, bracing her paws on the bed, before she lay back and got herself comfortable. Stephen watched, as the Elk produced a few vials, then tied a thick arm band around Kelly's upper arm and tapped the underside of her elbow, until she felt the vein rise up.

“Look away Kelly," Alice chuckled, as she stepped over, then expertly slid the needle home and began collecting the blood samples. “I know how it makes you nauseous when we do this."

Kelly closed her eyes, shuddering as the Elk quickly filled six vials, then held a cotton ball against the wound.

“Here, hold this for a few moments please."

Kelly pressed her fingers on it, before she swallowed and shuddered, staring up a the ceiling and laying on the bed.

“Doctor Kelarnis," Stephen spoke up, his voice filled with concern. “I know this must seem – insensitive - “

Flicking her ears, the Elk turned to look at him, then chuckled delicately. “I'm a veterinarian, trust me, I've heard it all, nothing you tell me, could be construed as insensitive, or so on."

“What are the chances – well – of Kelly's child, our child – being a fawn, or a human? I've never heard of a human and a anthropomorphic person having a child before."

“A fawn?" Frowned the Elk, as she slipped a vial into the machine and turned it on.

“I meant – not like her first child – the doe, Jasmine -"

“Oh, forgive me, sometimes I get confused, Kelly, myself, and others like us, we call our offspring fawns, my apologies. Well, usually, in situations like this – most – of the time, the offspring of a mating - my apologies, a lovemaking such as this, the mother's genome is usually dominant. Experts are still debating why and how, but the current consensus amongst us, is as she conceives the offspring, its grows within her, certain genetic traits are more dominant than the more human genes, if that makes any sense? To all accounts and purposes, your child will be born either a buck or a doe. Now, they will look like Kelly does, anthropomorphic, ability to speak and so on, however – there's a very minute chance..."

Placing three fingers against her muzzle, Alice pondered how to word it.

“A minuscule chance, the dormant animal DNA that comprises all our kind, be we Cervid, Wolf, whatever – might lead to a...a feral offspring, but one who can understand us, but has the inability to speak."

“Like Jasmine -" Kelly whispered faintly.

Alice looked at Kelly, then frowned and scratched her neck slowly. “Pardon?"

“Kelly - “ Stephen began.

“Jasmine, come in please my love - “ Kelly called.

Steven rose, then opened the door, and Jasmine crept fearfully into the room, her hooves clicking on the floor, before she bleated in fear and bolted to Stephen's side, pressing her head against his belly and shaking in fear and confusion.

“Hey, shh, its alright," Stephen blushed, then gently stroked her ears and neck, trying to soothe the terrified doe.

Alice sat heavily on her stool, her muzzle falling open in surprise and shock.

“You meant to say - “ Alice stammered.

“Yes," Kelly admitted. “Jasmine, born from myself and that feral stag – is one of those – minuscule – accidents..."

“I've never - “ Alice whispered, her dark eyes widening in shock. “I've heard about them, I've never...may I?"

Stephen tenderly cuddled Jasmine, as Alice slid off her stool, then walked over, crouching down and holding her paws out towards Jasmine. Jasmine squealed and flinched away, but Stephen stroked her and soothed her again.

“Jasmine, it's – alright love, she won't hurt you, Alice is nice – remember her? Go on, smell her – you've been treated by her before, go on..."

Timidly, Jasmine stretched her neck out, giving the Elk a few tentative sniffs, before she bleated and hid behind Stephen, her body quivering.

“She's afraid," Alice sighed. “I can't blame her, truly, the smells and such, in this room – our sense of smell is way surpassed by theirs. Stephen, can you give me a minute?"

“Sure..." he relied, as he turned about, then knelt down and took the trembling doe's head in his hands, tenderly stroking her and calming her.

Opening a drawer, Alice produced a halter, which she gave to Stephen, then she turned away and opened other drawers, removing a narrow gauge needle, syringe and small ampule.

“I'll give her a mild sedative, nothing to hurt her, just calm her down and make the examination easier for us all." Alice muttered, as she estimated Jasmine's weight, then extracted the required amount of sedative. “Alright, put that halter on her please, and hold her still.."

Stephen sighed, sliding the halter over Jasmines muzzle and head, tightening it, before gripping it as Alice walked over, then as Stephen distracted Jasmine, Alice slipped the needle into Jasmine's nape, then gently massaged it.

“Good girl, very good!" Alice nodded.

Almost immediately, Jasmine's knees began to buckle, before she trembled and Stephen carefully lowered her to the floor, then knelt and between him and Alice, they picked her up and lay her on the spare examination bed. Sleepily, Jasmine twitched, then her eyes slipped close and she was asleep in seconds.

“So," Alice asked, as she pulled a pair of latex gloves over her paws. “You're telling me, that Jasmine here - “

“Fully understands us, every word - “ Kelly answered, as she sat up on the bed and pressed a paw to her head.

“Careful Kelly, rest a moment, the nausea and dizziness will pass." Alice chided her gently.

Stephen returned to his chair, watching as Alice placed a stethoscope against Jasmine's pale furred chest, listening to her heartbeat for a few minutes, then picked up another clipboard and began writing.

“Jasmine is – I can't remember!" Alice muttered, as she used the pen to tap her cheek.

“Jasmine's three years old." Kelly answered.

“Three? Already?" Alice gasped, her eyes widening.

“Time flies, doesn't it?" Kelly chuckled quietly, then braced herself on the bed as another wave of disiness washed over her.

“Three, already..." Alice exclaimed, then began her examination.

Steven quietly excused himself, walking out to get him and Kelly some water, whilst Alice busied herself with examining Jasmine.

“Such beautiful fur - “ Whispered Alice, as she traced her gloved paws over Jasmine's body. “Distinct Whitetail markings, a little underweight for her age though, has she been eating well?"

“Mostly - “ Kelly admitted. “I don't spend as much time with her as I should, Stephen's taken over her – care - “

With a frown, Alice's ears flicked as she caught the catch in Kelly's words,. Her fingers lightly exploring the sleeping doe's body.

“Alice, can I – confide in you?" Kelly sniffled.

“Of course!"

“I – I don't know how to explain this...please, don't be mad with him -"

Pausing, Alice rested her paw on Jasmine's rump, before she raised an eyebrow.

“Stephen...and Jasmine -" Kelly began, before she broke down, burying her muzzle in her paws, sobbing heart-brokenly.

“He - “ Alice's eyes widened, as she felt Jasmine's tail, then carefully pulled it up and looked, then a gloved finger trailed under the doe's tail and she felt the residual, sticky semen that had spattered there. “He..."

“It was an accident, he swears it – she – consented, he thought she was a feral whitetail, I never told him that – she was my daughter, his step-daughter, or that she was just as intelligent as he or I or you -" Kelly's words come out in a rush.

“He...mated...with her...as he would make love with you?" Alice gasped, shock widening her eyes and making her muzzle fall open.

“Not...like with me, it was, I imagine – more, well, sort of like me, but I'm not a quadruped, obviously – I'm just...so scared! Please, please tell me, there's no way, not the slightest way – she could – and he..."

Alice frowned, pulling her semen slick gloves off with a look of disgust, before she discarded them and pulled fresh ones on.

“Well, as she is, at least partially anthropomorphic...no, I will say for certain, there's no chance of her becoming impregnated to a human. Their genome is just too far apart, the DNA is different, too different, for fertilisation of an egg and his sperm. Yet he...he mated with her -"

“Jasmine consented, you admitted it, you said she is at least as intelligent as we are – he did not know who she w as – what – she was, he was...curious, to see – what it would be like, and he's sworn, never, ever, to do it again..."

“Even still – this is something...disturbing, but not – uncommon amongst some humans. What do you know of Zoophillia?" Alice asked, as she lightly caressed Jasmine's teats, giving each of them a gentle squeeze.

“I've never heard of it - “ Kelly admitted.

“Zoophillia, by its technical definition – it mostly affects humans, its a – a mental disorder is wrong definition, but they have a sexual attraction and love that goes beyond a mistress and her pet. They love their companions, as they call them, treat them as equals, adore them, care for them, ensure their safety and happiness. They'd do anything to protect and care for their companion. Now, they share their love, often intimately, with said companion." Alice began, as she continued her careful examination, her voice becoming calm, like she was giving a lecture in Veterinary College.

“Their animal consents – yes, I see that look in your eyes – animals – can – consent to mating, in various ways. Now, a Zoophile, he, or she, is incredibly gentle, loving and caring for the partner. Most males when they breed with their female companion, are incredibly gentle and loving. Of course, say, for example – in the case of a human male and, oh, I don't know – say a mare...well, obviously, he's no stallion! Yet the point is made, they'd never hurt their companion – ever – it is a gentle, sensual sharing of their bonds. Sure, we might not agree with it, or approve of it even, but as long as both parties are consensual and no harm comes to them...it is not our place to judge, is it?"

Alice stroked Jasmine's belly, feeling the soft fur, before she picked up the hind leg and checked the cloven hoof. Satisfied, Alice put it down and examined the one laying on the table.

“Yes, Stephen is your partner, the father of your fawn, that grows within you – he – was curious, he shared his love and trust with Jasmine, unwittingly, as he did not know she was your offspring. An unfortunate accident, but I saw Jasmine when she come in here – her first reaction was one of fright and confusion – who did she run too, instinctively? You she saw, you were laying where she couldn't easily get to you, so she chose someone she cherishes and loves dearly...Stephen...
