Pilgrimage of Eric - Part 4 - Father of All - 3rd Chapter
This is a shorter chapter, but it explains you a little more about the world and the characters in it.
It is **SFW** as there won't be any naughty parts, if you are here to wank you will be disappointed :)
The next part will be hard to write for me as I thought I will have to make some more content before I give you another piece of mystery. I was thinking about an episode where will be those long awaited naughty parts, this time in a little different light, then some bloody fight between... characters. It will lead to something that will raise some eyebrows.
Originally I was about to publish that chapter next week (it is almost done), but then I changed my mind. So next week (hopefully as this week I have to attend some duties after work as well) there will be something which I did not even started yet, just in my mind.
Have fun!
3.) Gods, children and disastrous experiments
As we planned the caravan stopped at a creek not far, it only took a couple of hours to get there but the sun already was descending behind the trees. I thought I will refill my flask and clean myself a little before the night and before Clarissa or somebody else make me dirty again. But I wasn’t alone with my plans seemingly as I ran into the Wind-walker who was just standing there and looking the little waves in the water. After a polite welcome, and when I finished cleaning my boots, spare shirt and pants, I drop a topic into the silence.
“Do you know why we need that dragon so badly? You know Ximm…something.” I asked from the Wind-walker while I refilled my flask. He just licked a few times from the chilling water before he answered. The sun was about to hide its face from the world under the last line of trees.
“Ximminth. You are probably wondering on what a single dragon can do against the biggest army of human warriors in the history.” He slowly straightened himself then sat next to me. I took a seat on a small rock, next by my cloths drying.
“Dragons are powerful, they can use magic, their scales are hard to penetrate, they breath fire, so a simple dragon can kill thousands, but not tens of millions.” I was shaking my head on the thought of the massacre. The books told me two or three thousands of human can bring a dragon down and kill it. Even with Clarissa’s help I couldn’t think about else than our failure and death. Winning the war would mean we defeated every army, captured the capital city of Copperhill and replaced the king. From the rock I was sitting on it sounded like a fairy-tale in the far-far future, even for me.
“You are right. But Ximminth isn’t just a dragon.” He leaned closer to me and smiled.
“What is he?” I had to ask as he stalled.
“What do you know about Nephilim?” He asked the tricky question, but it was a sensitive topic for me and Clarissa. We haven’t talked about our true nature much since we were on the road to the border.
“Another word for Demigod.” I sighed.
“Not precisely. Demigod is an offspring of a God and Mortal. But Nephilim can be an Offspring of two gods as well.” He told me on a voice of an old teacher.
“I don’t understand.” Which was true. Back in the Academy I was learning the relations between mortals and gods for a few months, which led me to the conclusion that Nephilim and Demigod are the same thing.
“Gods cannot have kids; they were made from Pure Essence.” He started so I picked up my head. It was a new piece of knowledge about my mother. “Although the Essence created them, they lack the ability to fertilize each other and give birth.”
“But they can create Demigods.” I was debating.
“Indeed. If they transform themselves into a half-god-half-mortal form, they can have sex with mortals and impregnate or get impregnated by mortals. This is how a Demigod created. But!” He made a gesture which I interpreted he was telling me something important. “If two Gods would do the same, their offspring would be something else. It would be something powerful and dangerous.” He kept a little pause, so I took the liberty to interject something.
“I have never read anything about offspring of two gods.”
“Because it happened only once. The… “ he looked for the word. “…outcome of that mating was a disaster; the whole Sky was shaking under the consequences. A God not created by the Essence was unnatural and the mockery of the natural order.” He sighed.
“What happened?”
“The creature was destroyed by gods in a huge battle. Even the mortals felt the effects of that battle when the Volcano Tasur erupted and erased the Evergreen Islands.” He was sad about that despite it happened three thousand years ago at least. I agreed somehow, the legends said millions of people lived there, innocents. They were evaporated by the blast, burned to ashes by the lava. All because two Gods wanted to have kid.
“Why was that thing so horrible?” I had to ask.
“Probably because its father was Moheres and the mother was the Goddess of Light.” He said and I found my jaws on the ground.
“WHAT?!”
“The Bringer of Death somehow seduced the Goddess and convinced her to give it a try. They were the first couple experimenting with such a thing.” He sighed again. “You probably know that since a few million year the Essence wasn’t able to create new Gods. Something must have happened with it as before that time in every thousand year a new God or Goddess appeared from the Essence. That was the reason why Moheres and the Goddess were about to find new methods to populate the Sky.”
“Wow! What you are telling me is amazing.” I shook my head in disbelief.
“The thing what they have breed was another evil god with all the attributes of the two. You can imagine how bad was that.” He looked at me meaningful. It was not necessary. The Goddess of Light was one of the most powerful, the Bringer of Death almost on the same level but with evil thoughts. The combination of the two was like mixing Potassium and Water.
“Yes I can.”
“So, after Seel and Ro’oe persuaded the Gods about that Thing should not exist thus must be destroyed, they acted promptly.”
“The Destroyer and the Cruel? What an effective duo.” I commented. Seel wasn’t bad only had bad temper and short patience. He was the God of the Mercenaries and wild tribes of Warriors. Ro’oe on the other hand was calculating, living in the dark, looking for the opportunities to kill you with poisons or made you ill. He wasn’t evil, he only had a nature of a snake. But pondering on their abilities, the two could have made an extremely powerful duo.
“They thought they can win… they failed and almost died doing that.”
“You are kidding me!” I looked at him with wide eyes.
“I wouldn’t take the courage to make fun of the facts written in the Ancient Library of the Sacred Forest. So Magister Anderson, you can take my word; I’m not kidding with you.”
“All right. I’m sorry… but… Seel and Ro’oe…” I gesticulated in every direction to highlight my stupefaction about the two God wasn’t enough to defeat an offspring of the… well the two of the most powerful gods. Ok, it made sense after all.
“After the Thing almost killed Seel and made Ro’oe retreat, heavily wounded, the Sky joined their forces; Kite, Attot, Alium, Gillian with the lead of Zurik. Edimoth and Talimoth the two brothers, they even convinced Tashmoth to stand on their side in that case. They all were about to hunt down the Thing and kill it.” He stood up and moisturized his mouth by licking a few from the creek. I understood why it was a secret hiding in the most remote country’s forgotten library, deep in the Sacred Forests. It was a proof that gods not always all-knowing. They can make mistakes leading to disasters even in the Sky.
“Army of Gods… it must have been an Epic Battle.” I sighed and shook my head. All because of a children. In one hand it was insane, on the other hand if it was dangerous as the Wind-walker said, it was reasonable.
“Indeed. Unfortunately, they were tricked by the Thing as it was leading them into a trap. It could have been end badly with the death of the main gods.”
“It isn’t possible! No one is powerful enough to erase the gods from the Sky.” I was protested the thought.
“The Thing was smart, evil, powerful and cornered. It made it extremely dangerous.” He pointed to the facts. “When they were almost killed, Illigna and Da’al joined the battle and destroyed the Thing.”
“So the Ancient Dragon Gods saved the Sky.” I concluded which wasn’t a surprise for me.
“They used Essential Magic as the Ether wasn’t enough.” He continued like I hadn’t had that remark. ”They had to dismantle the building bricks of a God, turning into a mist of harmless Essence.” He kept a little pause. “After the events, the Sky and every residential sat down together and made rules against the reproduction. It was allowed to create demigods, one-or-two in every thousand year, but it was strictly forbidden to make another God. Although there was a loophole.” He smiled at me.
“Loophole?” I had to ask.
“Gods can make themselves mortal in every meaning for a short period of time. A few years let’s say. They can use that time to breed a being with blood of Gods, yet not another God. We call them Nephilim.” He looked into my eyes meaningful. “That creature would carry most of the attributes of its parents almost as a demigod, but it would be more than that. A Nephilim is almost impossible to destroy by mortal weapons, not like a Demigod which is almost as fragile as anyone.” He explained.
“So Ximme…Ximminth is a Nephilim, isn’t he?” I concluded and all made sense suddenly. Clarissa was about to recruit an immortal dragon with demigod abilities as a sidekick to win the war of the millennium.
“Yes, he is. He is the offspring of Illigna and Da’al after they descended from the Sky as mortals two thousand years ago.” He nodded to me as he saw I understood the fuss about Ximminth. ‘He will be a key figure to win that damn war. Clarissa is a brilliant general indeed. Only if we succeed and will not be eaten by my cousin.’ I thought but I quickly shook my head. Dragon cousin, Goddess mother, Lioness Demigod aunt… was still too much to digest.
To be continued….
