This story is continuing to be updated thanks to reader interest. I'll post another chapter if/when suitable interest is gained on this one so make sure you fav and comment-- and don't rely on others because you never know when this spin-off will get the axe due to disinterest!

Our protagonist is a 19 year old college student named Kaiden Wilson, a Unity Programme graduate from Vancouver British Columbia, and the odd situation in which he is put thanks to a discovery of yet more versions of earth in the rapidly expanding multiple-reality-stretching world in which this story series takes place. It also introduces several of Kaiden's gryphon partners. The Viddin, as they call themselves are divided into multiple categories based on species, and overworked, over-utilized has one of each. In this chapter, Kaiden spends some time with two of his classmates, and then returns to his apartment to do some studying with a third.

As always, thank you for reading, and I appreciate all the comments and favs I receive.

Chapter 6

Kaiden hadn't slept in since before he was in high school, but he couldn't rightly remember the last time he woke up after noon. Then again, he also couldn't remember ever waking up to watch the sunrise before going back to sleep. Either way, waking up between two Viddin snuggling up against him was a first so he didn't even have to try remembering that.

Laying atop a collection of pillows in Nittik's living room, one of Prirn's forelegs and hind legs were beneath him, the other set sprawled over him with the Human pulled close to the combination of feathers and fur that covered the gryphon's body. Nittik, as usual, was flopped across him with his head resting on Prirn's flank. The close proximity of his classmates might have been concerning to the Human at some point in the past but after what had transpired that morning it was a far cry from 'the most intimate' interaction he'd had.

Prirn had been Kaiden's sole partner for the better part of an hour and the Human lost count of the number of times the large lynx/falcon had coated his insides with Viddin seed; at one point the Human had grown too sore to continue and had gone back to using his hand, which Prirn didn't seem to mind in the least. Shortly thereafter Nittik joined him with the argument "Well, you have TWO hands, right?"

The Viddin were near insatiable and, despite how exciting, new, and erotic it was for Kaiden, his hands eventually started to cramp. By that point, however, Prirn was more than ready to mount him again. Nittik had found it particularly tantalizing seeing Kaiden on top of Prirn and stated that he wanted to try getting serviced while laying on his back. Seeing as the Human already had Prirn mounting him, Nittik splayed out in front of Kaiden and presented his eager member for the Human's mouth; he wasn't denied.

It was probably just before 10am when the rapid release of Viddin seed finally began to taper off, though Kaiden was certain the two virile males could have probably continued for some time, but the disruption came in the form of an argument. As surely as it had been stated before regarding the possessiveness of the gryphons as the two began to argue over Nittik wanting a turn on the end that Prirn had been monopolizing. It very nearly came to a fight but Kaiden, still naked and dripping with their combined fluids stepped between the two and reminded them that they aren't fighting over him and that Vetlyk also has a claim.

It was almost as if he'd uttered a magical incantation of some kind, or provided a verbal password; the two Viddin immediately calmed down, first apologizing to him and then to one another, and resolved the issue with some gentle head-bumps, shoulders hugs, and snuggles all around. Kaiden got caught up in the feel-good make-up session and, before he knew it, he and his classmates had gone at it one more time (though Nittik still couldn't get Prirn to surrender what the lynx/falcon referred to as "the most glorious of human entrances".

Kaiden had long-since lost any hope of getting out from between them with anything close to resembling an inch of cleanliness to his body and his classmates certainly gave credence to his doubts: he was completely slathered in gryphon fluids. Fortunately, Nittik's scrubber was up to the task. Nittik sent Kaiden along first since he needed the cleaning the most but promised to follow along shortly. Even as the Human headed off toward the scrubber he heard the two Viddin chatting it up in their speak-and-listen-at-the-same-time way.

The Human had about five minutes to get everything how he wanted it until he was joined by Nittik. There was just enough room for the two of them to share the alcove but the Viddin didn't seem to mind the closeness and, in fact, the flesh peaking out of his sheath identified his interest in doing more than getting clean. Kaiden had lost track of the number of times either gryphon had gotten off that morning but, as Nittik rubbed his exposed shaft against the Human's erection, Kaiden was brought to climax at the same time as his classmate, bringing his own total up to six-- he was starting to ache.

Nittik took a few moments to preen Kaiden's hair before climbing out of the scrubber, identifying his intent with a simple comment of "Prirn'll be in next."

Kaiden had another minute or two along before the door to the wash room creaked open and, just as Nittik had indicated, Prirn made his way in. The slightly larger gryphon was also able to fit into the scrubber alongside the human but there was even less room between them. His classmate said only "Mmmm... kawkikik..."

The young man found him wedged between the side of the scrubber and his classmate, who, like Nittik, was required to stand on his hind legs to properly fit. The greatest difference was that Nittik and Kaiden had been face-to-face while Prirn had slipped in behind the Human. It didn't take much to get the gryphon started and, before Kaiden knew it, Prirn's engorged shaft had slipped into him once again. From there, it was impossible to get the Viddin to stop, not that Kaiden found himself bothering to try. By the time Prirn was done, the young man had managed another release himself.

Prirn stayed in the scrubber just a little longer so he could snuggle up against the Human, preening the young man's hair while admitting "I... I don't think I can think of you as my kawkikik, Kaiden..."

The announcement caught the Human by surprise, especially since the Viddin's flesh was still hilted in him at that point. Unsure of how to question the statement, Kaiden kept it simple with an inquiring "You don't?"

Finally pulling free, Prirn scrambled up and out of the scrubber before turning around, lowering his head so he could touch his beak to Kaiden's forehead, nares blushing as the Gryphon admitted "No. You're more like a Takket."

It was at that moment in which Kaiden realized just how hard Prirn had fallen for him. Although a stage in the relationship scale all its own and apart from Human equivalent, the closest approximation in Kaiden's mind would probably be 'boyfriend'-- an intimate relationship that isn't quite a firm commitment. The realization of the statement stuck with the Human so much that all he could reply was. "I... uh... wow. Okay."

At that point, Prirn showed himself out and left Kaiden alone with the scrubber all to himself. The Human FINALLY had the chance to get clean and, even as he was drying himself off, his mind was still storming with the significance of what his classmate had disclosed. Walking out into the living room, he saw that the two Viddin had created a nest of pillows and blankets and both were looking to him with a wing spread in invitation. He accepted it and used the opportunity to shut off his brain-- running on less sleep than normal already exhausted from his morning's 'exercise' and surrounded by fur and feathers he fell asleep almost immediately.

Laying next to and under his classmates, Kaiden considered his early morning, staring at the ceiling up until Nittik stirred. The smaller of the two Gryphons stretched out in a very feline-like way, carefully positioning his paws and talons so as not to put too much weight on the Human. Letting out a huge yawn, Nittik then brushed his beak across Kaiden's thigh. "Good morning, Kaiden."

Prirn, whose beak was laying above Kaiden's head murmured "It is afternoon. Sunday afternoon... and I still have my homework to complete."

It was Kaiden's responsibility to help all of his classmates succeed and that statement caught his attention right away. Sitting up (as much as Nittik's presence would let him), the Human turned to regard Prirn. "You haven't done your course work yet?"

Prirn's nares reddened. "I came to see you as soon as I returned from him... but I still have time. I'll complete it tonight after dinner."

Nittik snickered. "Did you forget that homework also includes a report, Tik-ikit?"

The word 'tik-ikit' was a title for anyone who procrastinated due to being lazy, usually directed at someone who liked to come up with paper-thin excuses for their lack of motivation. Prirn scowled. "I said I didn't have a chance. I can do it ALL today, Zofra-head."

Nittik further stirred the pot. "It's almost two."

"Khwah!"

It was a curse word that needed no translation and Kaiden felt Prirn's sudden absence as the Viddin kicked off from the ground, flipping his body over so he could stand up. Giving Nittik a little shove, Kaiden sat up fully. "You alright, Prirn? Do you need some help with--"

The lynx/falcon was a blur of movement as he rushed back by, pausing only long enough to give the Human a gentle beak-nuzzle. "I'll be fine, Takket... I should probably go study though. See you tomorrow."

And, with that, Prirn was off like a shot, leaving Kaien alone once again with Nittik. "So... Takket, huh?"

It was Kaiden's turn to blush. "Yeah... he said that this morning when we were in the scrubber. I definitely didn't expect it."

His classmate squawked out a laugh. "I did... that poor hopeless 'hukt' is falling for you bad... but, then again, I can see the appeal."

The Human rolled his eyes, giving Nittik a playful push away as the Viddin began preening the back of his neck seductively. "Alright... cut it out."

His host didn't seem to mind in the least, bonking him on the shoulder with his beak before standing up and stretching again. "You know... if Humans were able to keep pace better I'd suggest we spend a little more 'special time' together, but I realize you're not a Viddin and I'd hate to break you."

They exchanged more banter as the day progressed, but Kaiden didn't remain for long; like Prirn, the Human still had things to tend to and there weren't a lot of hours left in the weekend. He ate a quick mean with Nittik and then the two parted ways with the Human returning to his apartment; he'd worn the same (shredded) clothes all weekend and, despite being clean from the scrubber, the first thing on Kaiden's mind was to get clean (and whole) clothes. Once he got back to his apartment that was exactly what he did. It didn't take long to get change but in that short period of time he was surprised to hear his data pad chime in, indicating that he'd received a message.

Pulling both his feet up onto his padded armchair so he could sit cross-legged on it, Kaiden set the data pad into his lap and flipped through several different notices; his classmates were starting to return to the Unity Centre and those in his immediate study group were announced by a tracking program when they logged back into the system. The audio alerts were disabled for those notifications but the one that created the chime was a private message from Tral, the group's loudest, most boisterous Viddin.

Most gryphons knew how to effectively use a data pad and the ones sized properly for the larger variety of Viddin used their screen as a touch-pad so texting messages were easier for them. Kaiden knew that none of his hybrid classmates liked texting and the brevity of Tral's message further reinforced that fact as it ready simply U HELP W/ HOMEWORK?

The Human snickered, opening his own messaging line and responded with I'M NOT DOING ANYTHING TODAY. YOU CAN COME OVER AND WE CAN DO IT TOGETHER.

Only after Kaiden had pressed the send button did he even bother to stop and review the double entrendre of 'do it'. At any other time he never would have connected the two simple words to anything sexual involving Viddin but, after having spent the weekend with three separate gryphon class mates, the idea certainly stuck in the Human's mind. He was just about to follow up his message with something less vague when he got a response from Tral. K B -> THERE!

It took the young man a moment to realize what he was looking at. After a few seconds he realize that the dash and less-than symbol were supposed to be a right-facing arrow, indicating that he had messaged "Kay. Be right there." Rolling his eyes, Kaiden switched programs to pull up his homework for the weekend; it wasn't an insignificant amount of it either. He was in the process of estimating the total time it'd take if he was working alongside Tral when the door to his apartment beeped, indicating a visitor.

The Human reached down and pressed a button on his data-pad, unlocking and opening the door. Glancing over his shoulder, Kaiden watched as Tral trotted in, talons clicking on the entryway floor until they were muted the carpet. The Viddin craned his head and turned it to regard the Human. "Heya classmate. Thanks for helping!"

Never the most formal of the class, Tral used a combination of terms and gestures he'd learned were common among Humans but still maintained a degree of Viddin ones which combined casual and formal in what was often a confusing mish-mash of social cues. Raising one wing in greeting, the tiger/condor kept the other one folded at an angle to be able to support the carrying satchel designed for Viddin to store extra items; it doubtlessly held his data pad. Attempting to be a courteous host, Kaiden motioned to the three-cushioned sofa to the side of his own armchair. "I promised I'd do my best whenever any of you needed anything. I was only going to spend this afternoon studying so it's no problem."

Tral, more than any of the other Viddin in his group was physically inclined so it didn't startle or surprise Kaiden in the least when the gryphon sprang up and over the back of the couch, likely with the intent to slip down into a comfortable position without circumnavigating it. Tral, Kaiden also knew, was something of a clutz, so it was also no surprise when his hind legs didn't quite reach the top of the backing, leaving him somewhat high-centered as his front talons landed on the seating cushions and his back-half remained stuck up in the air with the seat backing digging into his abdomen. Tral let out a sigh, cursing more for effect than any real anger, heralding the Viddin word first in English. "Well 'Khwah'."

Kaiden barely managed to hide a chuckle and set his data pad off to the side before moving to assist his classmate. At just over nine foot long, Tral was not exactly easy to help but the Human was used to it. In addition to being both physically inclined and a klutz, the gryphon was also massive, loud, disruptive and macho, but he was also good-natured and never caused problems on purpose. Then again, he didn't need to TRY to cause problems; it was Tral's natural way by pure nature of being Tral. Kaiden was familiar enough with helping him by that point that it was second nature; he even had methods prepared. Holding out his hands, the Human inquired "Talon or wing?"

Unlike what most people thought of when they pictured a vulture, Tral did have feathers on his head and the avian portion of his breed resembled a black vulture, and the feather pattern mixed nicely with the stripes on his fur. The feathers on his head, as with the other Viddin, were incredibly expressive and the gryphon responded the question with a parted beak and puffed out cheek-feathers. "I can handle this, Classmate... don't worry."

Tral scrambled with his hind legs and Kaiden winced when he heard the sound of fabric tearing. Tral also froze in place, feathers puffing out even more. Sighing, Kaiden asked his question again. "Talon or wing?"

One of the large Viddin's wings drooped slightly. "Just... take my pack. I can handle this myself if I don't have to worry about it dropping."

Knowing better than trying to insist on helping the archetypal self-confident jock with a fragile ego, Kaiden instead fulfilled the request by reaching up to carefully undo the clasp that held the Viddin's satchel in place and pulled it free of Tral's wing, setting it on the coffee table in front of the sofa. "Alright. All set."

His gryphon classmate wriggled and squirmed, even flapping his wings once, sending several loose pieces of paper and the satchel off the coffee table and onto the floor. The motions resulted in the desired effect, getting his hind quarters over the couch and causing them to tumble sideways, successfully flopping him own onto the sofa, which creaked from the sudden addition of more weight to it. Tral squirmed again until he could lay across it more comfortably as though it were a Viddin reclining couch. Glancing around, the gryphon let out an indignant peek, followed by a squawk. "Where did that carrying bag go?"

In order to limit any more damage to his apartment, Kaiden got up and retrieved the satchel for his classmate, who accepted it in one talon. The bags were made of very thick, very tough leather so it was easy enough for Viddin to handle them even with their long, sharp claws. Tral took a few minutes to situate himself and, after verifying the lesson plan for their homework, activated his data pad and, before long, they were off and running on the study of air current comparisons between Land Earth and Plateau Earth.

It was not long before Tral, as usual, derailed the study. "Classmate... can I ask a question not related to atmospheric events?"

Kaiden looked up from his data pad. "Does it have anything to do with what we're studying at all?"

Tral's head cocked to the side for a moment and the lay of his feathers and the near-distance gaze in his eyes suggested that the gryphon was deep in thought. After almost a full second he announced "In a way."

The Human had learned that 'in a way' from the huge Gryphon usually translated into 'no'. "Okay... how exactly does it related to the lesson?"

His classmate didn't even miss a beat. "It has to do with air."

Kaiden decided to give Tral permission even though he already knew he was going to regret it. "Alright... what's your question?"

The Human was right in his concern. "You smell like a shared Jiyjah."

It was not a quick detour from the homework, in fact, it turned into a nearly fifteen minute explanation to Tral about the fact that Kaiden had spent the weekend with Vetlyk, Nittik and Prirn. "So... yeah. I used Nittik's scrubber, but I guess Viddin DO have a really good sense of smell, so it only makes sense that you'd know."

The young man had expected Tral to be surprised, but he was wrong. "Oh downdraft! I really wanted to be the first!"

The response honestly surprised Kaiden. "The first what?"

The Viddin let out a huff, reaching up to rub the end of his beak as he mumbled "A lot of the study group likes you a LOT. Nittik said he'd find out if you were okay with the idea of messing around with Viddin and, if you were, we started talking about how to make sure we wouldn't get into fights over you."

The casual statement caught Kaiden by surprise. He knew about Prirn thanks to Nittik's intervention, but he hadn't even considered that more of the group--- that line of thinking froze in his mind as he regarded the disappointed-looking gryphon. "What do you mean by 'a lot'?"

Tral's attention returned to the immediate discussion and his clarity brought with it a strong reaction of dismay and self-reproach. "Khwah! Nobody was supposed to say anything about it cuz Nittik thought you'd freak out."

Maintaining an even tone, Kaiden sat back in his seat, eyeing the enormous gryphon. "Freak out? Why?"

The huge Viddin shrugged, looking down like a chastised puppy. "Dunno... cuz, I guess, Humans are really squeamish about stuff like that."

Sighing, the Human set his data pad aside. "Well, now that you've brought it up you may as well explain everything... what's going on, exactly? What schemes are you an the rest of the class concocting with Nittik?"

Tral shook his head rapidly. "Oh... I wasn't cocking any schemes. Nittik was the one who came up with the idea, and a few others helped with specifics. I just went along with it... I'm too stupid to scheme."

Rolling his eyes, Kaiden also shook his head. "You're not stupid, Tral. If you were stupid you wouldn't be part of the Unity Programme. I know you know you're not dumb so I'm not sure why you're always insisting you are."

The Gryphon shrugged in response. "Everyone in the group is smarter."

Not only was Tral not dumb, he had a capacity of being wily, and Kaiden didn't miss how the Viddin had managed to redirect the topic of conversation. "I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's a matter of applying yourself. I know you can be plenty smart. Besides, we're not talking about class grades, we're talking about Nittik's plans for me and the class."

His classmate's feathers all puffed up again and Tral purposefully didn't meet his gaze. "Well.. not the WHOLE class... I mean, he--"

The Human quickly clarified his statement. "The STUDY GROUP, Tral... he already told me about him and Prirn, but what's the deal with his plans for the study group?"

Again, Tral danced around the issue. "Not the WHOLE study group... Vetlyk refused to take part in the plan but-- well... based on what you said he kinda already did, right?"

That question was accompanied by a return glance from the gryphon along with a parted beak and puffed-up cheek feathers, suggesting a smile; Kaiden found himself blushing at the expression. In the end he forced his embarrassment down, replacing it with a sense of indignation as he challenged Tral. "So... did you come here for sex too?"

It came out a little harsher than perhaps the Human had intended; truth be told, Kaiden admired Tral's body in many ways and, after discovering that he was inclined to be intimate with some of his classmates, that experienced helped him realize that the condor/tiger hybrid was, in many ways, quite attractive for his breed. Based on the hens that always congregated near Tral, Kaiden wasn't the only one to think so. In respone to the Human's question, the Viddin lowered his head, wings drooping as well. "I came here to spend time with a classmate and to study because I needed help.

All of the wind left Kaiden's sails at that statement; despite how wily Tral could be at times, one thing the gryphon was NOT was a liar. Standing, the Human took several steps over to where his classmate was laying, and he reached out to rest a hand on the Viddin's wing. "Sorry, Tral-- I didn't mean that question to come out like an accusation... I'm just stuck trying to figure out what all this means."

Tral lifted his head up. "What what means?"

Kaiden gently stroked the Viddin's feathers. "Before I came here I'd never met a Viddin. Before class started this year I'd never spent any amount of time with one. Before the change-up in partners I'd never been part of a roost, and before this weekend--"

Proving yet again that he wasn't stupid, Tral immediately picked up on Kaiden's point. "Things are moving fast for you and you're not getting a chance to reflect on all of the newness of it all and don't know what to think about it."

The gryphon had managed to put it into words quite clearly. "Yeah... pretty much."

Tral offered a succinct nod of his head. "Do you know what I do when I have trouble thinking, Kaiden?"

The fact that Tral had used his name and not the 'classmate' title wasn't lost to him. "What do you do, Tral?"

The Viddin spread his wings in an almost showman style. "Exercise."

The obvious connection of the situation struck Kaiden full-force. Was Tral suggesting what Kaiden THOUGHT he was? "You mean--"

Tral gave his wings a firm, solid flap, creating even more chaos to the apartment's living room as he proudly proclaimed "Flying!"

Kaiden immediately felt his entire face glow red as he mumbled to himself. "Not the f-word I was thinking you'd say."

The Viddin glanced his way, obviously not having clearly heard the murmur. "What was that, Classmate?"

The Human quickly shook his head. "Nevermind. Okay-- go enjoy your flight and when you come back we can continue studying."

Standing, the Viddin was the size of a small horse and so when he stepped forward and bumped Kaiden with his lower beak the point of contact was the young man's forehead. "I didn't mean I was gonna alone, Kaiden."

It took a few seconds for the Human to realize what Tral was suggesting. "You mean... both of us? I can't fly-- you KNOW that."

Tral cocked his head to the side, almost as if trying to help a young child logic through a complex question. "But you can ride, right?"

Kaiden's brain went blank for several long moments until the realization came crashing down; Tral WAS suggesting that they go flying together, with Kaiden on his back! "I... I'm not sure about that."

The enormous gryphon bounced around with almost hatchling-like glee, bunny-hopping on all four legs. "Come on, Kaiden... I can carry a whole zofra and you weigh WAY less than one of those!"

Despite not being entirely comfortable with heights, Kaiden eventually gave in.
