The Love of Toys
Part 2
For Taiko
By Draconicon
Chris slept a bit fitfully that night, his dreams filled with the stuff of legends. Oh, yes, the stories of being in battle, of being the victor, of being cheered like a god as he walked through the streets, but that was all the build-up. He had every reason to love it, but it wasn’t until his dreams reached the palace at the end of his dream-road that he started to really get into it.
The human found himself in the arms of loving men, his body caressed, stroked, worshiped in that gentle touch. Firm hands guided him to bed, and he was given the pleasures of the immortals lived in. He was passed from blissful pose to blissful pose, every single one another burst of wonderful pleasure, another way of loving himself and those around him.
He dreamed of being on his knees, thrusting into another man while he was filled from behind.
He dreamed of lying on his back, gently sucking on another’s cock while his hole was filled.
He dreamed of his cock being passed between one mouth and another, always with the comfort of knowing that this was something that he had somehow earned, and that his partners were always willing to give him more.
Chris must have cum a dozen times or more through the dream, and when the world of the waking started to call to him, he could feel the slight discomfort in his balls that meant that he had probably cum at least a few times in real life, too. He groaned under his breath, starting to pull into a little ball out of instinct, only for something else to keep him from quite completing the motion.
That in and of itself was kind of new, but there had been mornings when he’d twisted and turned through the night enough that the blankets felt like someone holding him. Not common, of course, but it had happened, and he’d been able to fool himself into believing that someone had stayed the night and cuddled him as a result. He tried to slip back into sleep, wanting to hold onto that feeling for a little bit longer.
That, of course, only lasted for as long as it took for him to smell something cooking. Well, more accurately, burning. He blinked. There was nobody else in his kitchen, and his landlord wouldn’t be doing anything like that.
He opened his eyes, looked down, and saw a black and white, shining arm wrapped around his chest.
Oh…my…god…
Once he saw that, he felt other things. He felt the soft warmth of someone else’s breathing against the back of his neck, and the feeling of a rising and falling chest against his back, and – oh god, that was morning wood. He could feel morning wood right between his ass cheeks, and it was big. Big enough to explain the soreness between the cheeks, too, considering what must have –
Yep, it definitely happened. He could feel the sliminess between his ass cheeks. A bit of crustiness from all the stuff that they had done and what had dried during the night, but he could feel the slipperiness inside of him still. At least one load had been deposited inside rather than outside, and from the sheer size of the thing pressed against his backside, he could only imagine how he had managed to take that whole thing at once.
Oh god. Oh god.
His breath was speeding up as he tried to pull himself together, but yeah, that wasn’t happening. Shy little virgin had just gotten laid, and it wasn’t even by another human. It was by an animal. Well, animal-person, but STILL!
“Hey, anyone else up yet?”
That was the leopard. Gold. His name was Gold. And that meant that it was the zebra behind him.
Well, that explained the size.
He shivered as he tried to slide forward, having to wiggle this way and that to try and find a gap in the embrace that was pinning him to the bed. It wasn’t that it was bad – in fact, being cuddled was nice – but he was freaking out, and he needed air. He needed – he needed space. He needed it now.
Leaping out of bed, he ran to the bathroom. He had a split second where he saw Gold at the kitchenette, trying to get some eggs out of the pan, and he realized that he must have looked a sight, running through the apartment with nothing on and his eyes as wild as they were. Slamming the bathroom door shut, he flicked the lock and backed up from it. His heart was racing, his eyes were wide, and…
And he had his own morning wood. Great.
He ignored it, looking towards the mirror. Was he still himself? Yes, yes, he was, and there were little marks that he remembered. That little birthmark along his hip. That little bruise that he’d gotten a couple days ago falling down when he got too tired with his miniatures and fainted at the table. The temporary tattoo that he put on one shoulder to mark the anniversary of Wild Warriors. All those things were familiar.
What wasn’t were the little claw marks on his chest and along his back. As he turned and saw them, he realized that things had gotten a little rough the night before, and that he had…well, he’d been given the full treatment by Chrome and Gold. Probably more Gold than Chrome. Chrome had been nicer, softer, gentler.
Then again, zebra. Animal-person. They could probably get rough…
On his back, his legs held in the air by the big zebra, his hole getting rubbed and teased by the thick-headed horse cock between the zebra’s legs. Chrome was smiling, giving him a kiss on the sole, while Gold kept riding his cock hard.
“Give it to me…give it to me!”
The leopard slammed back again and again, his ass swallowing the human’s cock over and over again, his claws gently raking down Chris’s chest…
He reached up and touched his chest, running his fingers along the slight red marks. Nothing deep, nothing bloody, but little marks to show what they had done.
On all fours, Gold behind him, tonguing his hole, licking out the seed that Chrome had left behind. Chrome on his back, spreading his legs and offering him a place. Chris leaned in, his cock rubbing against that puffy hole, feeling too small for what he was about to do. Yet, Chrome smiled, pulling him in.
He fucked and was licked at the same time, his cock sliding past that velvety pucker while that tongue was hard at work behind him, licking his hole clean. The sheer pleasure of both of them at once was more than he could take, and he came quickly.
“Hope you have more than that,” Gold said.
“He’ll learn…”
Another little memory, another shock to the system as he tried to make himself okay with this, to understand this.
How many times…
He must have been in one hell of a shocked state the day before, because he could only remember five rounds, yet he felt like he had been pushed through more than that. His dreams must have reflected some of the reality that he had gone through, because he was definitely stiff and sore, and his body felt like it had been put through the wringer.
He slumped back, sitting down on the toilet, and he groaned as he felt the slight spread back there. It wasn’t pain, but it definitely wasn’t happy, either.
“What…how…”
This was magical, something out of a book, and he could hardly believe that this was happening to him. He had to…
Or should he…
What should he…
There were so many things running through his head that he couldn’t think of any of them properly. In fact, he wasn’t sure how long he sat there before there was a thump-thump on the door. He jerked upwards.
“Hey, Chris. I’m gonna need a new pan. Do you have any more?”
“What? What are you – second pantry beside the sink. To the left.”
“Thanks.”
“What are you – hey!”
He got up from the toilet, pushing the bathroom door open. And then he was reminded of the fact that he was completely naked as his cock swung around and slapped against his hips. He blushed worse than ever, pulling his bathrobe down from the bathroom door and pulling it on.
Not that it helped his embarrassment that much, not with a naked leopard in the middle of the room and a yawning zebra emerging from the bedroom. They were both naked, Chrome had a hard-on from Hell, and Gold didn’t seem to be bothered in the slightest trying to cook bacon and eggs in the same pan, on high heat.
The spitting sound from the cooking almost hurt him to hear.
“…You’re really real,” he muttered, staring at them in the light of day.
“Right in one,” Gold said. “Real genius, this one.”
“He’s had a hard night.”
“Well, you gave it to him. Hard and fast, for that matter.”
“He did ask for it.” Chrome looked back at him. “Sorry if that was a little much, by the way. I didn’t know you were a virgin.”
“How did – I didn’t say – how did you know?”
“Pretty freaking obvious,” Gold said, rummaging through a drawer. “I mean, the way that you were so shy? The way that you came so fast? Dead giveaway, Chris. Seriously. But man, you were cute when you were making all those sounds. Didn’t I say that?”
“You did, you did,” Chrome said, smiling as he sat at the small table in the kitchenette. “I must agree, you were rather adorable, Chris.”
The fact that he had two guys in his apartment complimenting him after sex was something that he hadn’t had on his ‘Things You Do With Figurines’ bingo card. He blushed worse, sitting down at the table rather mechanically. If nothing else, it meant that he wouldn’t fall flat on his face out of embarrassment, which was something that he genuinely felt that he was at risk of doing at this point.
Chrome reached across the table, patting his hand, while Gold grumbled with the pan.
“How the – this isn’t working. I swear, you need a proper cookfire.”
“It’s modern,” Chris muttered.
“Yeah, well, ‘modern’ can go fuck itself. I never have this trouble on a campfire,” the leopard protested.
He glanced at Chrome, and the zebra shook his head, mouthing ‘he does, he does.’ Chris bit off a chuckle at the slight ‘betrayal’ from the equine, finding himself smiling despite himself.
The more that they talked about things besides him, the better he actually felt. It made them feel more like people and less like a fantasy that was going to disappear into the wind. He still couldn’t entirely believe it, but after getting them from a magical person in the first place, he supposed it only made sense that they were able to do magical things in and of themselves, and…well, be rather magical in their personalities and bodies.
That didn’t mean that he was entirely comfortable with it yet, of course. He was still antsy, still blushing, still completely disbelieving that the previous day had entirely happened. If it wasn’t for the fact that the Stallion of the Sands figurine was on the writing table in the living room – and yes, he could just about make it out from where he sat – he would have believed that he was still dreaming. His dreams, however, didn’t have that kind of consistency. That meant that the previous day had happened, he had come home with various rewards, and now…now he had…
Knock, knock.
He froze, his eyes wide as he heard the early-morning knock on the door. Chrome and Gold froze in mid-speech, Gold leaning back from the stove to look down at the front door, and Chrome leaning the other way from the table to do the same.
“Didn’t know you had visitors this early,” Gold said.
“That’s not a visitor,” Chris whispered.
Thunk-knock, thunk-knock.
That was the warning one. He yelped, running back to his room, his first thought to get dressed. It was pure instinct on these early-morning meetings; when the landlord came knocking, you made damn sure that you were dressed in more than a bathrobe. It wasn’t until he had his pants on and he heard the tell-tale click of the master key being used and the door opening that he clocked back to having visitors.
“Shit, shit, shit, shit!”
Chris ran back out of the bedroom…and found nothing. Nobody. Nothing in the kitchen. He stared at the empty room, at the cloud of smoke that was forming in the messy, horrible pan of eggs and bacon, and rushed to move it off the burner as the door closed.
“That’s an…interesting choice of breakfast,” the landlord said, shaking her head. “Don’t think I’ve seen someone cooking eggs and bacon in the same pan before.”
“Uh…just trying to save time…”
He turned off the stove, moving the pan out of the way. He shook his head, surreptitiously flicking his eyes around the kitchenette. There was no sign of either the zebra or the leopard. Where had they gone?
For now, it didn’t matter. The landlord was here, which meant that he had different things that he needed to be concerned about.
Jane Forester was her name, and she was probably one of the least intimidating landlords that one could imagine outside of the little old lady stereotype. Barely five-foot-eight and with dark hair that made her look less business-like and more the ‘keep to herself’ sort of girl, she was in her mid-thirties and looked more tired than an accountant at tax season. She yawned, pulling her hair out of her face as she looked around.
“So, let’s cut to the chase. Are you breaking any rules I should know about?” she asked.
“I don’t think so. Not unless you added some new ones.”
“Not really, but I got a complaint last night, and you know how the neighbors are.”
He nodded. While Nigel, the one up and over, was the worst of them, there were lots of sticklers that lived through the complex. Most of them were the sort that were rather decent if you kept to the rules, but the moment that one was broken would start raising Hell.
This wasn’t the first time that he’d seen Jane called down from on-high, and it wasn’t the first time that she’d been on his floor. It was, however, the first time in months that she’d been down to see him for any reason other than to collect rent.
“So, um, what was the complaint?”
“That you had company over.”
“…Oh?” he asked, blushing.
“Yes,” she said, looking around him towards the bedroom. “Do you mind?”
“Um, go ahead…”
He didn’t think that it had been particularly messy in there, and he didn’t smell any sex from the bedroom right then. Maybe it would be okay?
Unless the sheets –
He walked behind Jane, half-afraid of what he’d see, but the bed had somehow been stripped. No sheets, no blankets, nothing. It made it look like he was getting ready to do laundry more than anything else.
She looked back at him, an eyebrow arched.
“I haven’t cleaned them for a while. Too busy writing, and I thought –”
“Heh, it’s alright,” she said, yawning again. “God, I hate these morning callouts. Sorry.”
“It’s alright.”
“Not really. Bet you were shaking in your boots when I knocked.”
“…Maybe?”
“Tell you what. Offer me a coffee, and I think we’re good. Unless Nigel gets proof that you’re trying to break the rules, he can just suck it.”
He nodded, gesturing back to the kitchenette. He only had instant coffee, but that seemed good enough for her. He poured it quickly, giving her a good-sized cup, and she drained half of it right off the bat. Sitting down at the table with a cup of his own, he shook his head. Jane explained.
“Sorry about this. Nigel called me before the sun came up, and kept yammering about how much he was hearing. ‘Indecent noise’ this, and ‘obscene interruption’ that. He kept using all the buzzwords that meant I had to look into it. You understand?”
“Yeah, I get it…always been worse than the others…”
“Hmm?”
“Nothing.”
The last thing that he needed was to start a war with another tenant. He might have had a slightly better relation with the landlord than most, but he didn’t want to start that kind of thing. That sort of pissing contest never ended well for anyone.
Jane shook her head.
“Look. You’ve been great. I’m going to take your word on this, particularly since there’s no way that anyone could hide in here. But you know the rules. Bachelors only; if you’re doing well enough to be dating, you’ve got another place to crash, and there’s plenty of people that need a cheap place to live like this.”
“I know, I know.”
“I know you do, but I’ve gotta say it. Rules, you know.”
Draining the rest of her mug, she stood up and carried it to the sink. Doing the decent thing of washing it out, she hung it on the drying rack before looking back at him.
“You’re a good tenant, Chris. Never had a real complaint about you, and none that ever panned out. But for both our sakes, would you mind doing me a favor?”
“Sure. What?”
“Close the vents.”
“What?”
The landlord pointed to the top of the wall, near the end of the room where it connected to the living room and the bedroom.
“Sound carries. Nigel’s probably listening to everything in the apartment, so why don’t you save us both the trouble of dealing with him and shut those? That way, he can’t listen in to what you’re doing, and he can’t make a complaint for something that turns out to be nothing, and neither of us have waste our time?”
“…I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you.”
“Take care,” she said.
He remained at the table as the landlord left, hardly believing his luck. The whole thing had seemed all but impossible, but here he was, completely safe. The vents. He should have remembered the vents, but he hadn’t exactly been thinking that he was going to get lucky last night, was he?
Chris was just starting to relax when the cupboard over the oven flickered with light, and suddenly, Gold came tumbling out. The leopard hit the floor, immediately throwing his hands up to catch the falling plates that followed him down, his arms in a blur as he caught each and every one without letting a single one crack.
There was a thump in the other room, as well, and he realized that Chrome had been hiding in the bedroom. The zebra groaned from further away.
“I don’t mean to be pushy, but would someone mind lifting the mattress? I seem to have gotten stuck.”
“Yeah, well, dealing with my own issues here,” Gold said, laying on his back with feet and hands in the air, holding onto more plates than anyone but an Olympic waitress should have managed. “A little help would be nice.”
“Um…one second…”
Chris shook a bit as he got to his feet, walking over to the leopard and collecting the plates. As soon as he got the ones from between the feline’s toes, Gold hopped to his feet, shimmering like his namesake as he rolled his shoulders a bit.
“That’s better. Can’t quite land on my feet, but hey, I don’t drop things, either.”
“…”
“Now, let’s get that hunk out from under the bed.”
He put the plates away, still shaking his head wordlessly at the goings-on of the two figures. They seemed utterly comfortable with the insanity of their own existence, and seemed completely unaware of how strange it was to him.
Then again, this was probably normal to them, and his existence, the modernity of it, was probably some sort of insanity to them.
By the time that the dishes were put away, Chrome had been rescued from under the mattress, the zebra dragging himself under the door frames as Gold returned to the kitchen. The feline took one look at the pan, shook his head, and started rooting around for another one. Before Chris could stop him, Chrome shook his head.
“Let him. He wants to try.”
“Hey! I’ll have you know that I fed an entire battalion, once!”
“Yes, yes, you did,” Chrome said, smiling. “You fed them bread that you stole from a baker.”
“Well, yeah, but the point still stands.”
“I’m afraid that it’s got nothing to stand on.”
“Excuse me, excuse me?”
Chris held up his hands, and both Gold and Chrome stopped their banter to look at him. He took a deep breath, then let it out, covering his face with both hands. How did he want to say this?
Well, with as much honesty as possible, he supposed.
“Could one of you please tell me…what the hell is going on? I don’t…I don’t get this, and I’m really struggling right now, and…and I want to understand before I faint or something.”
“Do you think that you’re going to?” Chrome asked.
“…No, but if this gets much weirder before I understand it, I might.”
“He has a point,” Gold said. “We did kinda jump his bones before giving him the chance to figure out what was going on.”
“And whose fault might that be?”
“Well, definitely not mine. I don’t fuck up.”
Both Chris and Chrome arched an eyebrow at that, looking at the first ruined pan and now the second. Gold groaned.
“Besides when I cook, I don’t fuck up.”
“...”
“I fuck up less than others!”
“I’ll give you that one,” Chrome said. “But yes. Would you be more comfortable in the bedroom or living room, Chris?”
“Um…Let’s go living room.”
“Probably the best choice; we will have slightly less temptation there,” Chrome said.
“Speak for yourself,” Gold muttered.
He wasn’t sure whether to be flattered or a bit afraid at that comment, but either way, he needed to push on. They went to the living room, sitting down on the one couch that he had. The fact that there was a large zebra on one side and a barely-shorter leopard on the other didn’t help things, making him feel almost pinned between them.
Being between them was rather fun, he was finding out, rammed from behind while he pinned Gold down from above, fucking one while getting fucked by the other. Their bodies were so warm, their cocks so hard, the smell and sweat and warmth of the rutting –
He shook his head, dismissing that memory before he could get a hard-on from it. Rubbing his face, he leaned forward a bit. Chrome rubbed his shoulder gently.
“What’s wrong, Chris?”
“I’m just…I…” He took another deep breath. “Okay, let me talk a bit, okay? Please? I need to…I need to ramble a bit.”
“Go ahead.”
“Sure. I can listen. Cats can listen,” Gold added.
He doubted that, but he hoped that they were serious. This was usually the sort of thing that would start pushing other people away. Being nerdy wasn’t just about fandoms, after all. It was also about hyper-examination of a number of things that fell into one’s interests, and this was one of them.
“Oury is magical. I got that when I realized that he was made of all the water in the lake. Something like being a super-spirit, someone that can do anything that he wants as long as he’s in his lake. And he tests people, like he said with that question, but I bet that he doesn’t talk to people much, because the test was really easy.”
The two former figurines looked at each other, and then nodded. He took that as permission to continue.
“If he’s magic, that means that he’s got to occupy himself with something, right? Nobody with power just sits there all day long, and it’s not like people keep dropping stuff in the lake all day, every day. That means that he has to do something to deal with the boredom. I mean, he’s…he’s hot – even if he doesn’t think it – but even someone like that can’t keep it going with just flexing all day, can he?
“That means that he had to start doing stuff, and…and I am going to bet, since he’s so magical, he made you?”
Gold and Chrome smiled at each other. Chris blushed.
“What?”
“Not just cute, but smart,” Gold said.
“And kind, too, but the intelligence is quite the benefit.”
“I…you…”
Chris hadn’t had someone actually call him smart for doing the nerd-theory stuff. Usually, when he started looking into the symbology and other things behind the writing and the way that different worlds worked in fiction, how it all came together, people started getting pissed off at him. Yeah, he sometimes unpicked things that made it stop making sense and be less fun, but he always found it more fascinating when he could see how it was supposed to work and how it was supposed to feel, and how it could be made to do that if you just fixed that one little problem.
And this was almost the same without having to unpick it. It was a mystery, a figuring-out, but even the good things he said had chased people away. They wanted to just enjoy something, not think about it.
“Um…you like that?” he asked.
“Hey, if it means I get better lines, I’ll have you do this all day,” Gold said, the leopard chuckling as he stretched his arms over his head. “If you’re going to be dancing my figurine around and making me say stuff, at least I know I’m not going to be spouting bad imitation Shakespeare.”
“Wherefore art thou, oh feline sensibility?” Chrome joked.
“…I swear to the Maker, you ever make me say something like that, I’m going to fuck you all night long, and make you walk all funny the next day. And then I’m going to laugh. A lot.”
Chris sputtered in spite of himself, but he still smiled underneath that. There was something to the way that Gold said it that made him feel like he’d enjoy it, regardless. This was the sort of ribbing that he’d not had for more than a few days at a time, that he’d always ended up chasing off. Maybe it was the intelligence, the obsession, or something else, but nobody stuck around for long.
And now, maybe, they would.
“So, um…does that mean that you guys turn back into your figurines, sometimes?”
“When we’re not doing anything, or when we need to travel, yes,” Chrome said. “We were made as figurines first, endowed with certain personalities. Our Maker, Oury, gave us the ability to come to life when the time was right.”
“And how did you know when that was?”
“When we were sure that we weren’t going to be sold or given away to someone that didn’t care about us,” Gold said, shrugging. “It’s that sort of thing when you just kinda know, you know?”
“That, coupled with the fact that we are quite handsome, but rather than tell a story of pure smut, you had us…connected.”
“Oh, god. I didn’t…You weren’t already in a relationship with someone else or anything, right?” Chris asked. “This isn’t some kind of mind control?”
“Well, not entirely,” Chrome said. “If you are doing a scene like that, we are more than happy to act it out. There is a slight compulsion, which is why Gold used such lines as you gave him last night –”
“Hey, they were a bit sappy, but…still nice,” Gold muttered.
“Yes, they were. And I enjoyed playing out my role in it. The compulsion, however, is low-level, and not something that we are forced to go through. It’s merely a way to enjoy it. We are, after all, not entirely ‘living’ in the same way that you are. We are magical, and certain parts of our nature are fixed.”
“…Hmmm…”
Chris tapped his chin, rather fascinated by the concept. They were alive and could learn, but they could also be compelled. He wondered, then, if that core personality, the part that Chrome said was fixed, was something that could be polished or made to stand out that much more over time, or if that was something that was fixed entirely, immutable.
It was a fairly fascinating question.
It was also just a little sad, he realized. They were not compelled to love him, that much was for sure, but they did have their limitations. They would need to learn, to experience, to be part of things. They had life, personality, vigor, but they were still inexperienced, still not so aware of life.
He wondered how fixable that was, and how much life Oury had given them…and how much more he could add to that.
Chrome looked down at him, the zebra leaning in. Before Chris realized what had happened, the bigger male had kissed him on the cheek.
“What was that for?” he asked.
“You seemed a little lost. I wanted to remind you that you would always have something to come back to.”
“…You…mmmph…” He blushed worse than ever at that, and Gold laughed, giving him an elbow in the side.
“Hehehe. You two have fun. I’m going to try cooking again.”
“Actually…”
Chrome caught the leopard by the tail, keeping him from doing more than getting up. The zebra smiled slightly.
“How about we call for breakfast? I believe I saw a menu for that?”
“Um…I spent the last of my money on the stallion figurine…I’m kinda broke until my check comes in,” Chris admitted.
“Ah. Tight belts.” Gold nodded. “Well, we all know how to deal with that. Just gonna have to work a little harder.”
“And pose for a few more scenes. So…Chris.” Chrome smiled. “What sort of scene would you like to play out?”
“…Let’s close the vents first…and let me take a shower. A long, cold shower.”
