Spending the Night
#13 of A Night She Couldn't Resist
Brooke has never been happier. She recently committed to her first genuine relationship while in her teen years, but once her boyfriend brings home a new pokémon-- a rather dominant midnight lycanroc that takes a certain liking to Brooke upon first sight, it quickly becomes a risky situation she has to make quick and constant decisions on.

Brooke had just finished her shift and was on the way home with sushi in a to-go bag for Luma. She was sweaty and exhausted, as expected, and would grab Luma then head to Parker's house to shower.
Malie was safe, so Brooke felt confident on foot alone at night for the most part, and she'd never fallen into an unfavorable situation. Still, she watched her surroundings, being alone as a female in the dark. Brooke had considered several times buying something to defend herself but never got around to researching effective non-lethal options.
No one was outside anyway besides groups hanging around stores or bars and some individuals strolling the roads, possibly from a night shift themselves.
She stuffed her hands in her pockets and sighed, seeing her residence ahead. Brooke was just glad Saturday was near. She only had to work one more time this week, which was Friday, then a calm weekend awaited.
She approached her door and pulled out the key, getting it open and entering a dark and restful environment. She shut her eyes and could collapse where she stood. It encompassed and caressed her-- but she instead had to walk up the stairs.
Brooke grabbed a bottle of water from the kitchen and trudged up the steps while her back and calves ached and pushed her door open after reaching it. She turned on the AC she needed desperately and sighed. "Hey, Luma."
"Vip!" she yawned and sat up on the bed. Luma had stayed awake to wait for Brooke as always. She used to fall asleep during her attempts but had perfected the art and did it with no issue at the expense of a screwy sleep cycle.
"Brought you sushi." Brooke set the bag on the bed. "Let me change real quick..."
Luma had eaten both cartons of berries while Brooke was at work and was hungry all over again, so she'd like to have her sushi now. She waited while Brooke washed in the restroom and threw on comfy blue shorts and a tee.
"Ugh." She slumped onto the bed beside Luma and lay back, setting the bottle aside. Her limbs were weak from walking and carrying platters and drinks all night. One would think she'd be used to it completely on top of her fitness routine, although it wasn't nearly as bad when compared to her first few months on the job, and Brooke didn't even work daily.
She sat up and scratched Luma's back, taking a few sips of her water. "We're gonna go to Parker's after you eat, just to spend the night." And they'd have to leave soon before Brooke passed out in bed.
Luma nodded. She'd be happy to see Pyro but knew she'd also want to sleep shortly after they arrived. Perhaps they'd spend the day there as well since Brooke had tomorrow off. That sounded like fun.
Brooke and Luma were at his place within twenty minutes. Brooke was showering currently, washing away work-related steam while Parker was in the bedroom and Luma was in the living room with Pyro, ensuring to keep her distance from Vix. They were on the couch while the creepy lycan was on the carpet by the kitchen.
"Vulpi pi, vulpix." They were discussing her life before Parker and Brooke, along with food. Luma told him about her parents and a few experiences in the wild, including an incident when she got separated from them for a day and had to hide in bushes from predatory pokémon that could harm her.
Luma also went over many kinds of sushi she'd had since living with Brooke, stopping briefly only to ask Pyro if he liked each type as well.
He'd listened and answered while keeping a grin the entire time. She was too cute, and he could listen to her stories all night. He was ecstatic they'd gotten closer and hoped it held up. "Torra torrcat." Pyro, enjoyed sushi, but not nearly as much Luma. "Cat." He actually preferred PokéChow.
"Vulpix?" He couldn't be serious. That's such an odd opinion to have, but she couldn't get on him for it. Maybe Pyro enjoyed the simpler tastes.
Meanwhile, Brooke had just gotten out of the shower and dried off, slipping on one of Parker's white shirts and one of several panties she kept at his place for times like this. "I feel so much better," she said while exiting the restroom and tossing her phone onto the bed.
"Glad to hear. You looked about dead when you got here," Parker replied. He was also in a tee but wore pants.
Brooke sat on the bed and crawled to him at the center where he was sitting. "Whatcha got?" She noticed a glass of dark blue liquid in his hand.
He took a sip. "Wine, want some?"
Brooke lay down and rested her cheek on his leg. She figured. "Need, but not oran. I don't know why you insist on buying sour ass wine all the time." She yawned and stretched her legs.
Parker chuckled and reached to set it on the nightstand, then ran his hand over her head and through her hair. "I can get you something sweeter from the kitchen. Chill out."
"Nah." Brooke yawned again and pulled herself up into his lap more, turning onto her stomach and resting it over his leg. "I just wanna wind down."
Parker rubbed her back with both hands while grinning. "Another rough night?" He helped when and where he could. He knew Brooke worked hard.
She relaxed, closing her eyes and sighing while he often pressed his fingers into her back during the massage. "Not really. I mean, it was busy almost the whole night, but it flowed-- besides this one dude who got pissed at me because someone forgot his sauce."
Parker also tended to her shoulders, squeezing them. "Someone?"
"Yeah... I wasn't even assigned to his table." Brooke felt herself getting sleepier by the minute, and this massage sped the process. "I guess I've just been more tired recently."
"From what, babe? Ever thought of asking for a day or two off?" She didn't work full time but could still need a small break. Parker didn't want her overworking herself.
Brooke sat up and rubbed her tired eyes. "For what? I don't want to sit around, and I want to keep adding to my savings... I'll feel better after Friday."
He nodded. "But you know your health is more important, right?"
"It's not that serious." She grinned. "I'll be fine, promise. Now turn off the light and snuggle me to sleep."
