Daniel woke the next morning, feeling exhausted and well-pleasured. Willow lay covered under the blankets, his exhausted breathing ragged but regular. With a light chuckle, Daniel leaned over and kissed Willow on the back of his neck, then climbed out of the other side of the bed.

“Woah; smells like a locker room in here - “ Daniel muttered, as he rubbed his eyes, then stretched, shoulders popping and muscles loosening.

Getting up, he opened the windows and even the door, stepping out onto the patio, as naked as the day he'd been born. Daniel felt no shame, they were isolated up here, far from the city and he was certain – of anyone else. Idly scratching his chin, feeling the stubble there, Daniel rolled his shoulders and returned inside, leaving the cabin door open to air it out.

*

After a shower, shave and making large pancakes for breakfast, then a bowl of fresh chamomile tea for Willow, he set it all on a tray and carried it over to the bed.

Setting it down on the bedside table, he gently shook Willow's shoulder.

“Wake up my dear, sweet doe - “ Daniel chuckled. “Come on, I thought you Cervid woke at dawn? It's...wow – its nearly ten thirty! Come up, up and out of bed, breakfast is ready!”

A low, whimpering moan come from the mound on blankets on the bed.

“You weren't like that last night!” Daniel laughed, then pulled the blankets down Willow's body, leaning forwards to kiss Willow lovingly on the cheek. “Get up you lazy doe!”

“Urgh...” Willow protested, covering his closed eyes with a forearm. “Sore...tired...”

Daniel rolled his eyes and chuckled. It had been an experience – for both himself and Willow...

“Lazy Cervid, come on, up!” Daniel grabbed Willow by both forearms; and almost pulled him out of bed, before Willow blearily opened his eyes and slid his long legs out and onto the floor.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, Willow yawned widely and his eyelids barely lifted as he squinted, then wrinkled his nose.

“Woah...is...” Willow held his forearms up, sniffing at himself, before he shuddered and looked away, his ears flattening and turning a deep crimson.

“Shower for you missy!” Daniel snickered and began placing Willow's hoof boots on. “Is...I mean.. was it...”

Willow shuddered, from ear tips to his furred ankles, lifting each hoof in turn, as Daniel strapped on the boots.

“You were like a wild, ravenous, and lustful wolf...” Willow whispered. “You terrified me...”

Daniel's face went white, as he looked up into Willow's eyes, who smiled then placed both paws on Daniel's cheeks and licked his forehead.

“Do it again...”

Daniel snorted, then playfully slapped Willow on the thigh. “That was not nice!”

Willow giggled shyly and let Daniel help him up, before he slipped his paws around Daniels' rump and hugged his naked body against his own.

“Mmm, warm..” Daniel murmured. “Shower..now!”

Willow hung his head and giggled, then taking Daniel's hand in his paw, he clopped his way towards the bathroom, Daniel following along behind, watching Willow's wedge-like tail flagging.

“I'd have thought you learned from last night...” Daniel growled playfully in Willow's back-swept ears.

“I might be a bit of a slow learner - “ Willow's whispery voice come back to Daniel, as Willow turned his head, giving a cheeky wink and a poke of his long, supple tongue through his furred lips.

*

Breakfast was long cold for Willow, by the time they finished in the bathroom...

*

Daniel sat on the couch, dressed simply in boxer shorts, whilst Willow sprawled on the bed, his head cupped in one paw, before he rolled over and looked at Daniel with a look of love and absolute trust.

“Draw me as one of your French does - “ Willow murmured, idly tracing random patterns on the fresh sheets, the others – were hanging from a makeshift clothesline strung on the patio.

Daniel chuckled, then prepared Willow a fresh breakfast.

“Chamomile?” Willow sniffed at the bowl. “Oh... I'd prefer mint, but this will do, thank you!”

Daniel sighed in exasperation, but his rolling eyes and smile made Willow giggle.

“How am I supposed to know anything if you Cervid are tighter than a clam about everything?”

Willow sipped his tea, his cheeks dimpling as he raised an eyebrow at Daniel. “You didn't say that last night...”

With a gasp, Daniel blushed a brilliant crimson. “Willow...”

With a mischievous smirk, Willow sipped his tea and flicked his ears.

*

After Willow finished his breakfast, the two lovers went walking along the forest tracks. Willow gazed like a lovesick fawn at everything – taking it all in as he walked, holding hands with Daniel. As they explored the woods together, they took in the majesty of nature in all its fall splendor. They walked up trails, down others, and around even more, holding hand and paw, stopping frequently to admire the last of the wildflowers and the towering trees that surrounded them.

As they hiked, both breathed in the crisp, fresh air and listened to the sounds of birds singing and the ancient, mystical voices of the groaning from branches and trees. Willow's nostrils flared, then he giggled and almost dragged Daniel to a small crystal clear brook, where they sat and enjoyed a light lunch.

Afterward, laying cuddled up together, Willow's ear flicked and he sat up, gazing around, until he lightly placed a finger on Daniel's lips, silencing him, before gesturing.

A family of Whitetail deer stepped from the forest, nervously approaching the water, before they looked up at Willow and Daniel. Their ears flicked forwards, before twitching nervously. Willow was entranced – some primal – instinctual connection flaring in his mind, before the matriarch doe dipped her head and drank deeply of the clear water – her two almost adult fawns following suit.

“So beautiful - “ Willow whispered, his nostrils flaring, before he then blushed and placed his floppy hat over his lap and shivered.

“Willow? You...okay my love?” Daniel asked, noting the increasingly disturbed Willow.

'It's...nothing, my love - “ Willow murmured, then smiled weakly and lay back down, kissing Daniel's cheek.

“I think I understand...”

Willow trembled, then rolled over, pinning Daniel's hands beneath his knees, as he leaned down and pressed his furred lips against Daniel's lips.

“Mmph!” Daniel gurgled, surprised by Willow's almost dominant nature.

When Willow broke the deep, passionate kiss, his lustful panting betraying his emotional state, he gazed down lovingly at Daniel and licked his forehead.

“You say you love me...”

Daniel blinked, then smiled and looked up adoringly. “I do...”

Willow leaned down, his hot, moist breath against Daniel's ear. “Then prove it...”

Daniel was all too happy to do just that...

*

Snuggled together, Willow shuddered and moaned softly, his arm draped across Daniel's chest, playfully caressing and scratching tenderly with his hooflets.

“You're...wow, is it going to be like this every...” Daniel began, before Willow placed a quivering paw on Daniel's mouth.

“Just...breathe - “ Willow blushed and rested his head on Daniels' chest, inhaling the scent of his lover.

*

As the sun began to set, they returned to the trailhead, feeling tired, exhilarated and exhausted. They held each other close, taking in the last moments of the peaceful day, Willow's sensitive eyes protected from the setting sun by his dark glasses, as Daniel turned and kissed Willow tenderly on the cheek.

“Willow - “ Daniel began.

“Mmm?” Willow asked, turning to look into Daniel's eyes.

Daniel blushed lightly, then crouched down, slipping his day pack from his shoulders and opening it. Willow gazed at him, then turned his head to watch the beautiful sunset, thinking Daniel was merely packing the rug they'd lain on, into his pack.

“Its...all so beautiful - “ Willow murmured.

“Not as beautiful as the Stag I've come to love...”

Willow blushed, then slipped his glasses off, dabbing at his eyes with two fingers.

“Willow,” Daniel spoke up.

“Yes my...” Willow began.

He stepped back a half step, before he looked down, his eyes going wide behind his dark glasses and ears going flat, as he stared at the jewelry box Daniel held in the flat of his right hand.

Daniel reached up, taking Willow's right paw, before he got on one knee and gazed up at Willow.

“Willow, my beloved, would you do me the honor... of becoming my mate, legally and literally?”'

Willows's breath caught in his throat, as he stared down at the beautiful ring nestled in the velvet box. He felt his heart skip again and again, then leap up into his throat as he felt overwhelmed with his love for his mate, Daniel, tears prickling in the corner of his eyes.

Without hesitation, Willow dropped to his knees, then threw his arms around Daniels' neck, smothering him in licks and kisses, as the tears flowed like a waterfall.

“Yes...yes, yes, I will marry you, and become your mate in every sense of the word, yes my love, I will!”

Daniel's own tears come, as his face radiated his joy and love, before he awkwardly slipped the ring from the box and then onto Willow's quivering ring finger. Willow gazed at it, then blinked as Daniel pulled Willow's head forwards, the two young lovers sharing a tender and emotional kiss, wrapped in each other's arms and happiness.

When at last they rose, Willow felt like he was hardly touching the ground with his booted hooves, the world around him becoming even more beautiful and magical to him. He knew, this was just the start, of a wonderful journey that he and Daniel would take together as mates, side by side, throughout life's adventures from this day – until their last.
