Bound for Greatness
Bound for Greatness
Special thanks to **Ren Raccoon** for commissioning this wonderful series and inspiring its modular format, allowing the story to grow one lesson at a time instead of requiring every chapter to be planned from the very beginning.

Ren is a raccoon spending three months on a work assignment in Cascadia, missing her partner Cassie back home and slowly going stir-crazy in a lonely hotel room. Cassie's advice is simple: stop waiting to feel less lonely and go find something worth doing instead.
So begins Ren's education.
*Bound for Greatness* is both an erotic story and an exploration of structured BDSM, following Ren as she meets experienced mentors, builds lasting friendships, and discovers new sides of herself one step at a time. Each installment introduces a new teacher, a new dynamic, and a new lesson, while her loving relationship with Cassie remains the emotional thread tying the entire journey together.
Whether you're here for the characters, the relationships, or the educational approach to BDSM, I hope you enjoy the ride.
Ren's tail was doing the thing again.
She knew it was doing the thing because she could feel it, that involuntary little curl at the base, the way the ringed fur bristled and settled with each breath she took, each slow roll of her hips. The chair creaked beneath her. The dildo, silicone, black, shaped with a bear's generous proportions because she was nothing if not committed to the bit, sat snug and warm inside her ass, the flared base pressing against the soft fur of her inner thighs every time she sank down.
Her breath came in shallow hitches through her nose. Ears pinned back, then forward, then back again, like they couldn't decide whether to listen to the room or to the wet, obscene little sounds the toy made every time she lifted herself up. Her stomach clenched. Her thighs burned. Her hands gripped the armrests of the corporate-issued desk chair, gray fabric, ergonomic, completely inadequate for what she was doing to it.
On the laptop screen, Cassie watched.
The bear filled the frame. Big. Impossibly big, even compressed into a fifteen-inch display. Her dark fur caught the warm lamplight of her bedroom back home, and her chest, god, her chest, rose and fell with each heavy breath. Those massive breasts sat heavy against her stomach, nipples dark and visible through the thin tank top she hadn't bothered pulling off. Between her thick thighs, her cock stood at full attention, fat, flushed, veined, the head already glistening where she'd been stroking herself with a fist that looked like it could palm a basketball.
Ren's hips stuttered. She bit her lower lip.
Cassie's hand moved. Slow. Deliberate. A long, dragging pull from base to tip that made her hips shift forward on whatever she was sitting on; a bed, probably, the mattress dipping under her weight. Ren watched the rhythm. Counted the seconds between strokes. Tried to match it.
Down. She sank onto the dildo, her ass taking the full length, the stretch making her toes curl inside her socks. Up. The cool air hit the slick silicone and she shivered. Down. Cassie's fist tightened at the base. Up. Ren's tail went rigid behind her, then whipped to the side, then curled tight against the small of her back.
"Hey." Cassie's voice came through the laptop speakers, warm, low, almost casual. "How was your day?"
Ren blinked. The question landed like a brick through a window. Her hips kept moving, she couldn't stop them, didn't want to stop them, but her brain short-circuited trying to process the absolute audacity of asking about her day while she had a bear-shaped dildo buried to the hilt in her ass.
"I... you... are you serious right..." The words came out breathless and broken. Her ears flattened. "Cass—Cass, I am literally..."
"I'm just asking." Another slow stroke. Cassie's dark eyes stayed fixed on the camera, on Ren's face, on the way her mouth kept falling open and snapping shut. "Did the network migration go okay? You said the staging server was being weird."
Ren's hips dropped hard and a sound escaped her, not a word, not a moan, something in between, something that cracked in the middle like a branch under too much weight. The chair groaned beneath her. Her green hair stuck to her forehead in damp little clumps.
Instead of answering, she leaned forward.
Her breasts pressed against the edge of the desk, pushing the laptop screen down at an angle. The camera caught the full view, the heavy curve of them, the green-tufted fur between them, the way they shifted and compressed with each ragged breath. She knew what this did. She'd done it before. Cassie's reaction was always the same, always immediate, always delicious.
On screen, the bear's rhythm broke.
"Oh, fuck." Cassie's hand stopped mid-stroke. Her free hand gripped the edge of whatever she was sitting on, knuckles going white under dark fur. Her chest heaved. Her ears, round, black, tipped with that soft inner fur, pinned back against her skull. "Ren—Ren, put those, baby, you can't just..."
Ren rolled her hips. Slow. Purposeful. She kept her breasts right there in frame, let the camera catch the bounce, the squeeze, the way her nipples had gone stiff and visible through the thin fabric of her graphic tee. Her tail uncurled from her back and swayed behind her, lazy, teasing, knowing.
"You were saying?" Ren managed, and her voice came out wrecked and smug all at once. "Something about a staging server?"
Cassie's hand started moving again. Faster now. The bear's hips thrust up into her own grip, her stomach muscles clenching, that thick cock sliding through her fist with a wet sound the laptop's tinny speakers barely captured. "You're a menace," Cassie breathed. "You know that? An absolute..."
"Menace with great tits."
"Yes." The word came out like a punch. Cassie's head dropped back, her throat exposed, the thick column of her neck working as she swallowed. "God, yes, you are, you're... keep them there, don't move, don't you dare..."
Ren didn't move. Well, she didn't move her upper body. Her hips kept their rhythm, rising and falling on the dildo, the base slapping against her thighs with each descent. Her breath came faster now. Shorter. Her thighs trembled. The stretch inside her had gone from pleasant to urgent, every nerve ending in her ass lighting up like a switchboard during a power surge.
She could feel it building, that tight coil at the base of her spine, the way her balls drew up tight, the way her cock twitched against her belly with each thrust. Her ears were fully pinned now. Her tail had gone rigid as a flagpole. Her fingers dug into the armrests hard enough that the foam compressed under her claws.
"Cass." Her voice cracked. "Cass, I'm... I'm gonna..."
"Look at me." Cassie's voice cut through the static, through the distance, through every inch of separation between Cascadia and home. Her dark eyes found the camera. Found Ren. Held her there. "I'm right here. I'm watching. Let me see it."
Ren's hips slammed down.
The orgasm hit her like a freight train derailing at full speed, no buildup, no warning, just impact. Her whole body seized. Her back arched off the chair. Her mouth opened and nothing came out, nothing but a thin, reedy sound that didn't sound like her at all. Her cock pulsed against her stomach, untouched, and she felt the warm rush of cum spreading across her belly fur, soaking through the hem of her shirt. Her ass clenched around the dildo, milking it, gripping it, refusing to let go even as her thighs shook and her vision went white at the edges.
On screen, Cassie watched it happen.
The bear's hand moved faster. Her breathing turned ragged, turned desperate, her massive chest heaving, her free hand gripping her own thigh hard enough to leave indentations in the fur. Her cock was dark, swollen, the head flushed almost purple, and her strokes had lost all rhythm, just fast and hard and needing.
"Fuck. Watching you. Watching you cum like that." Cassie's voice dropped to something barely above a growl. Her hips bucked. Her hand tightened. Her jaw clenched. "I'm... Ren..."
She came.
Ren watched it through the blur of her own aftershocks. Cassie's whole massive body went rigid, her mouth falling open in a soundless shout as thick ropes of cum pulsed from that fat cock and landed across her stomach, her chest, the dark fur of her thighs. Cassie's hand kept moving through it, milking herself, drawing out every last shuddering wave until her grip finally loosened and her arm dropped to her side like a dead weight.
For a long moment, neither of them moved.
Ren sat there, breathing. The dildo was still inside her, she could feel it, warm and slick and there, and her cum was cooling on her belly, and her shirt was ruined, and her legs felt like they'd been replaced with overcooked noodles. Her tail lay draped over the armrest like a discarded scarf. Her ears had gone soft and sideways, the way they did when every ounce of tension had been wrung out of her body.
On screen, Cassie looked equally destroyed. The bear's chest rose and fell in slow, heavy waves. Cum glistened on her fur. Her cock lay spent against her thigh, still half-hard, still impressive even in its post-orgasm state.
"...so," Cass said, and her voice was wrecked, absolutely wrecked, but there was a laugh hiding in it somewhere. "Still think you can outdo me?"
"You literally came second."
"I was pacing myself."
"That's not what pacing looks like."
Cassie huffed a laugh, low and rough. "Shut up."
Ren eased herself off the toy with a wince, breath hissing through her teeth, her body clenching around nothing as the base cleared. She dropped back into the chair and just stayed there. Legs loose, chest heaving, cum cooling in her fur, shirt ruined. Her tail hung off the armrest. She didn't have the energy to move it.
"God." She pressed the back of her wrist to her forehead. "I needed that so bad."
"Yeah, you looked like you did." There was a grin in Cassie's voice. Still wrecked, but pleased about it. "How's the conference, anyway? When you're not destroying hotel furniture."
"Boring. Genuinely, soul-crushingly boring." Ren stared at the ceiling. "How long is this training supposed to go? I've been here two weeks and I still don't know what I'm actually being trained for."
"Three more months," Cassie said. "Then you're home."
Ren exhaled slow through her nose.
"Three more months," she said. "You think they'll cover the chair in the expense report?"
Cassie's laugh came through the speakers, and Ren closed her eyes.
God, she missed her.
The thought settled heavier than anything else in the room, heavier than the ache in her thighs, heavier than the rain tapping against the window. Ren let her head rest against the back of the chair and listened to Cassie breathing on the other end of the call.
"You okay over there?" Cassie asked.
"Yeah." Ren swallowed. "Just missing you."
"Same, love."
The words hung there for a moment, soft and warm and almost enough.
Almost.
Cassie shifted on screen, reaching for something off-camera. "So," she said, a little too casually. "How's the other thing going?"
Ren opened one eye. "The other thing?"
"The thing we talked about." Cassie's voice stayed gentle, but there was a smile tucked into it. "You going out. Meeting people. Trying something new instead of spending three months alone in a hotel room making that poor chair fear for its structural integrity."
Ren looked down at the chair.
The chair had suffered. That was fair.
"I've been looking," she said.
"Mhm."
"Don't 'mhm' me."
"I am mhm-ing supportively."
Ren snorted and pushed damp green hair out of her face. "Meeting people is hard here."
"Meeting people is hard everywhere."
"No, but Cascadia makes it worse. Everybody either wants to skip straight to hotel room coordinates, or they hand you a zine about municipal water rights before they've even said hello."
Cassie laughed. "That does sound very Cascadia."
"I met a guy at the hotel bar who wanted to talk about his kombucha SCOBY for twenty minutes. He called it his 'daughter.'"
"Oh no."
"Oh yes." Ren rubbed her face with both hands. "Everyone here has a cause and a lanyard for it, or a jar of something fermenting that they think is a personality."
Cassie's grin softened. "But?"
Ren's ears twitched.
Cassie saw it immediately. Of course she did. The woman could read her through a screen, a bad hotel connection, and post-orgasm static.
"But," Ren said, drawing the word out, "I might have something tomorrow night."
Cassie's eyebrows lifted. "Something?"
"Someone. Maybe." Ren glanced away, suddenly fascinated by the rain sliding down the window. "Her name is Monica. Brown mouse. Kind of quiet. Very... unassuming."
"That sounds like a trap."
"She does not seem like a trap."
"Ren."
"What?"
"You are a raccoon. Half your species history is built around reaching into suspicious containers."
Ren pointed at the screen. "That is profiling."
"That is pattern recognition."
Ren tried not to laugh and failed. "She's different, okay? She actually asks questions. Good questions."
Cassie's expression shifted, playful but attentive now. "Like what?"
"Like what I've tried. What I liked. What I didn't like. What made me nervous. What I thought I wanted versus what I actually enjoyed." Ren's voice got quieter despite herself. "She asked how I like being touched."
Cassie went still for half a breath.
Not jealous. Not worried.
Listening.
"That's a good question," she said.
"Yeah." Ren's fingers curled against the armrest. "It kind of threw me."
"In a bad way?"
"No." Ren let out a small laugh. "In an 'I suddenly forgot every thought I've ever had about my own body' way."
Cassie's smile came back, softer this time. "That sounds promising."
"It might just be coffee."
"Coffee is allowed."
"And maybe drinks."
"Drinks are also allowed."
"And maybe she offered to show me some basics if the vibe is good."
Cassie went quiet for a second, and when she spoke again there was something warmer under the teasing. "Oh. So you're finally going through with it."
"Maybe." Ren picked at a loose thread on the armrest. "I mean, she did seem like she knew what she was talking about."
"Good for you." Cassie's voice softened all the way. "I know it's been on your mind a good while now, and I'm glad you're willing to do some exploring. Just be safe and have fun, hun."
Ren's ears went a little warm. "You're being sincere. It's weird."
"I contain multitudes."
"You contain multitudes of bullshit."
Ren covered her face with one hand, but she was smiling under it.
Cassie leaned closer to the camera. "Do you want to go?"
Ren's smile faded into something smaller. More honest.
"I think so," she said. "I'm still weird about the whole hookup thing. Not because of you. Just... I don't know. Half the profiles are probably bots, and the other half want to move in with you by the third message. It's hard to tell who's real and who's just moving fast because they don't know how else to do this."
"Then don't treat it like shopping," Cassie said. "Treat it like meeting someone who might know something you want to learn."
Ren peeked at her through her fingers. "That is dangerously reasonable."
"I have my moments."
"It still feels strange."
"Because I'm not there?"
Ren nodded once.
Cassie's voice gentled. "Love, I meant what I said. I don't want you spending three months lonely because you think missing me has to be a full-time job. Go meet her. Be honest. Be safe. Text me where you are."
Ren's throat tightened a little. "Yeah?"
"Yeah." Cassie smiled. "And if it goes well..."
Ren narrowed her eyes. "There's the bear trap."
"I expect updates."
"Updates."
"Detailed ones."
"Of course."
"With all the juicy details filtered in as soon as reasonably possible."
Ren laughed, helpless and warm. "You are ridiculous."
"I am invested."
"You are nosy."
"I am supportive and nosy. Multiclass."
Ren leaned toward the laptop and kissed the screen, stupid as ever and unable to care. "I love you."
"I love you too." Cassie's expression softened again. "Go have fun tomorrow."
"I'll try."
"No." Cassie's grin returned. "You'll do better than try. You'll submit a full report."
Ren groaned. "Goodnight, Cass."
"Goodnight, menace."
The call ended.
The hotel room went quiet around her, small and dim and much too empty. Ren sat there for a moment, shirt ruined, legs unsteady, tail hanging limp over the armrest.
Outside, rain hammered the glass in silver sheets.
Everyone had joked about the Pacific Northwest weather before she left.
Nobody had mentioned how loud it got when there was no one else in the room.
*
Ren arrived too early, because of course she did. She spent ten minutes standing across from the coffee shop, pretending to browse a community event board, while her brain bootlooped through every possible scenario of awkward first encounters. Should she have worn something kinkier? Was it tryhard to coordinate her eyeliner with her green streak? Was it wildly inappropriate to wear her club t-shirt to a not-actually-a-date coffee meeting, or would that signal some kind of secret handshake to a fellow pervert? Would Monica think she was a raccoon-shaped traffic cone in a crowd, or would she see straight through the camouflage and call her out for being nervous?
By the time Ren finally crossed the street, she'd rewritten her personal script three times, all of them bad, and was already sweating under her thrifted bomber jacket. The place was one of those Cascadian "third-wave" coffee shops where every table surface had scars and stories, and the beans came with a four-paragraph essay about their single-origin journey from the slopes of an ethically-run volcano. Even the baristas looked like they'd been selected via Portlandia casting call, tattoos visible from orbit, haircuts so sharp they could slice fruit, monastic focus on microfoam.
Monica was already there, of course. She'd picked the most inconspicuous table, tucked into a corner by the window, half-concealed behind a decorative shelf of succulents and battered first-edition hardcovers. She wore a cardigan that looked like it had been selected for maximum unremarkability, with a conservative button-up and dark jeans. Her glasses were the kind that came from a prescription, not a fashion blog. She was so perfectly ordinary that Ren nearly missed her, scanning the room for someone twice as bold as the chat history they shared.
But there she sat, brown mouse, small and neat, hands cradling a mug of something indecently herbal. A book rested in front of her; a proper book, with dog-eared pages and Post-its sticking out like flags of tiny surrender. Monica did not look up, did not scan the room for her guest, did not fidget or check her phone or give any sign that she was waiting. She just existed, quietly and efficiently, as if coffee shops had been invented for her and everyone else was making unnecessary noise.
Ren hesitated, then forced herself forward. She weaved between tables, nearly tripped on someone's laptop charger, muttered an apology that got swallowed whole by the espresso grinder. Up close, Monica's stillness became its own kind of gravity. Her eyes flicked up just before Ren spoke, as if she'd been aware of the approach from the start and was simply calibrating the timing for maximum effect.
"Hi," Ren said, and immediately regretted how much it sounded like a yelp.
"Hello, Ren." Monica's voice was soft, not shy, and it left no echo. She gestured to the seat across from her. "You found it."
Ren sat, then had to figure out what to do with her hands. She went for a nervous tail flick and nearly knocked over a sugar shaker in the process. Monica watched this with the faintest ghost of a smile, not mean, just observant. The kind of smile that said: I see everything, and I am not here to judge you for it.
"Nice place," Ren offered, almost at a whisper.
"I like the windows," Monica replied. "You can watch the rain without getting wet."
Ren risked a glance outside. The glass was beaded with water, distorting the neon from the taco truck across the street. "It's been raining since I got here," she said, and instantly hated herself for opening with weather talk.
"It doesn't stop," Monica said, which sounded like a joke until you realized it was also an observation about more than just weather. "Do you want coffee?"
"I already had, like, two," Ren said, even though she hadn't, but ordering something now felt performative. "If I have another one I'll start vibrating at a frequency only dogs can hear."
Monica did not laugh, but she looked at Ren in a way that felt like a silent laugh, as if she appreciated the effort but was saving her real response for later.
They sat in silence for a few seconds, ten, maybe twelve heartbeats, which was enough for Ren to start cataloging all the things she was probably doing wrong. Was her jacket too much? Should she have put her hair up? Was she supposed to start the conversation, or let Monica take the lead, since Monica was technically the one with the experience? A tiny bead of sweat went rogue at her hairline. She tried to will it into non-existence.
Monica broke the stalemate. "So, workplace training," she said. "How's that going?"
Ren blinked. "How do you know it's workplace?"
"The badge on your lanyard," Monica said. "Name, company logo, color-coded stripe for outsider status. All the conference kids have them."
Ren looked down. She had, in fact, forgotten to take the stupid lanyard off. It hung around her neck like a Scarlet Letter, only instead of adultery, it confessed "I just moved here and I have no idea what I'm doing." She yanked it off and stuffed it into her jacket pocket. "Wow. Zero points for subtlety, me."
Monica shrugged. "It's good camouflage. People see a badge and assume you're a temporary fixture. It makes the locals feel safe."
Ren started to say something about not exactly blending in, but stopped, realizing she'd walked straight into another pattern. Monica wasn't just a mouse, she was a mouse who'd spent a lifetime studying predator-prey dynamics, and had learned the art of being present without being seen unless she wanted to be.
"Training is... fine," Ren said, after a beat. "It's a lot of onboarding and roleplaying exercises and learning which words are now considered slurs by people from departments I didn't know existed. It's like being back in high school, only all the mean girls have MBAs and pronoun pins."
Monica sipped her tea and nodded, as if this was the most natural anecdote in the world.
"And you?" Ren ventured. "What's your... uh. Day job?"
"Research," Monica said. "I'm between institutions at the moment. It's less exciting than it sounds. Mostly data."
Ren perked up. "Oh, like statistics? Or..."
"Ethology," Monica said. "Behavioral patterns in group settings. Studies of consent, dominance, communication, that sort of thing."
Ren's brain skidded. "Like... in animals?"
"Depends on the study," Monica said. "The differences between species aren't as significant as most people believe."
Ren tried to decide if she was being flirted with, or gently trolled, or if this was just Monica's normal conversation style. She decided to split the difference.
"I bet the data gets spicier in the field studies," she said, and regretted it immediately.
Monica's smile widened by a single atom. "There are fewer bite marks, but more paperwork."
Ren barked a nervous laugh. "I can handle paperwork."
So far, Monica had not so much as touched her phone. She listened with her entire body, in that way some people do only when they want something. It made Ren feel seen, and nervous, and about three seconds from blurting out something deeply unwise.
Monica closed the book and set it aside, making a small ritual of it. "I'm glad you came," she said. "Most people don't. They get excited in the messages, then vanish when it's time to meet."
Ren's first instinct was to joke about being a "completionist," but it stuck in her throat. For the first time since sitting down, she realized she was being measured, not in a predatory way, but with the precise curiosity of a scientist conducting a study. Monica was testing a hypothesis about her, and Ren wanted more than anything not to fail that test.
"Sorry if I'm awkward," Ren said. "I'm better at talking when there's a screen between me and the other person."
"That's not uncommon," Monica said, and let the silence sit for a beat. "But you're here, and you're speaking in full sentences, which is already above average."
Ren looked away, then back, then away again. Her brain wanted desperately to return serve, but the banter reflex was running on fumes.
Monica leaned forward, elbows on the table, voice still low and unobtrusive. "Why now?" she asked. "You said you'd been curious for a while, but you only started looking recently. Was there a change, or did the timing just line up?"
It was the kind of question Cassie would have asked, but with Cassie it would have been wrapped in layers of humor, insulation, misdirection. Monica just let it hang there, plain and honest.
Ren considered lying, or at least painting herself as bolder than she felt. Instead, she decided to risk honesty. "The distance," she said. "Being away from home. Being somewhere nobody knows me, nobody expects me to be..."
She trailed off, trying to find a word less embarrassing than "in control."
Monica rescued her with a nod. "It makes it easier to experiment. To try on new patterns."
"Yeah," Ren said, relieved. "Like, I don't have to be the responsible one, or the funny one, or the one who organizes the office birthday cards. I can just be whoever I am when nobody's watching. Or, I guess, when someone's watching who isn't grading me on it."
"I am grading you on it," Monica said. "Just not the way you think."
Ren's ears twitched. "That's not comforting."
"It's not supposed to be comforting. It's supposed to be true." Monica turned her mug a quarter turn on the table, an idle, precise little motion. "Can I ask you a few more things? Real ones. You can tell me if a question is too much."
"Okay." Ren straightened up without quite meaning to, like she was back in a job interview.
"Have you done anything before? Actual scenes, not just fantasy. Collars, restraint, being told what to do."
"Some. Nothing structured. Just, whatever felt good in the moment with someone I trusted." Ren picked at the edge of a napkin. "I don't actually know what the structured version looks like. I don't know what I'm supposed to know."
"You're not supposed to know yet. That's why you're here." Monica's tone didn't shift, didn't soften or sharpen, it just stayed level, like a hand on a rail. "What scares you about learning it?"
Ren actually thought about that one instead of reaching for a joke. "That I'll say yes to something because I don't want to look difficult, and then I won't know how to take it back. Or that I'll want something and not have the words for it."
Something small and pleased crossed Monica's face, gone almost before it arrived. "That's the right thing to be afraid of. Most people get hurt in this world because nobody ever tells them stopping is allowed, let alone how to do it."
"So there's a how."
"There's a whole how." A little dry amusement slipped into her voice, brief, contained, the verbal equivalent of a smile she wasn't quite letting reach her mouth. "It's less romantic than people think. It's a lot of talking. A lot of checking in. It sounds unsexy right up until it's the only reason anything after it works at all."
"I can do talking," Ren said. "Talking is basically my whole personality."
"I noticed." Monica let that sit a beat before continuing, unbothered. "You use humor to manage nerves. I don't say that as a criticism. I say it so you know I've clocked it, in case you were hoping it was working better than it is."
Ren's ears went flat against her skull. "That's deeply unsettling to hear from someone who looks like she'd apologize to a chair for bumping into it."
That startled an actual laugh out of Monica, short, surprised, reined back in almost as fast as it escaped, like she wasn't used to letting it loose somewhere public. "I get that a lot."
Ren seized the opening before it closed. "Okay, my turn. Can I ask you things too?"
"Go ahead."
"How long have you been doing this? Not the research cover story. The actual thing."
"Teaching, specifically, about four years. The rest of it, quite a bit longer." Monica wrapped both hands around her mug, more habit than warmth-seeking. "Someone patient took the time with me back when I was starting out. I watched a lot of people around me not get that same luck. It stayed with me more than I expected."
"Is it normal to feel like I might throw up a little?"
"Extremely normal. I'd worry more if you didn't." Monica's eyes stayed steady, patient, entirely unhurried. "Everyone I've taught has felt some version of what you're feeling right now. It's the ones who don't that worry me."
"And if I want to stop? Not tonight. Just, ever. Partway through something."
"Then you stop." No pause in it at all, no softening around the edges. "That's not a courtesy I'm extending you. That's the floor everything else sits on. If you can't trust that you're allowed to stop, then nothing else about this is actually safe, and I won't teach you a single thing until I know you believe that."
Ren sat with it. It landed heavier than the tone it had been delivered in.
Monica watched her sit with it, unhurried, then leaned back slightly, something settling into place behind her glasses like a decision finally being made. "One more question. And I'd like you to actually think about it instead of giving me the funny answer."
"Okay."
"Is this about wanting to learn something? Or is this about not wanting to be alone tonight?"
The joke reflex reached for something and came up empty. Ren thought about Cassie on the laptop screen the night before, about the rain against the window after the call ended, about exactly how loud a hotel room got when there was no one else in it.
"Both, probably," she admitted. "But I don't want it to just be that. I don't want to use this so I don't feel lonely and call it curiosity. I actually want to learn it right."
Monica studied her for a long moment, the kind of attention that felt less like being tested and more like being genuinely heard all the way to the end of the sentence.
"Okay," she said finally, something in her posture unhooking. "I believe you."
"That's it? That was the test?"
"That was the test." Monica reached for her bag, unhurried, and left money on the table for her tea before Ren could get her wallet out. "I don't teach people who are only looking for a body to be near tonight. It isn't fair to either of you, and it isn't what this is for. But that's not what you're asking me for. So."
She stood, the motion so contained it took Ren a second to register it as decisive rather than just restless.
"So?" Ren scrambled up after her, chair legs scraping.
"So we don't do this here." Monica glanced back, and for one flickering second something warmer and more knowing moved underneath the soft-spoken stillness before it tucked itself away again. "Come back to my place. It's quieter. Nobody refills your water every four minutes to see if you're still talking about consent theory."
Ren's pulse did something complicated. "Okay. Yeah. Let's do that."
Outside, the rain had eased into a fine mist, and Ren pulled her phone out as they walked, thumb hovering over Cassie's name before she typed out a quick text. Heading to Monica's. Will update later. Be safe, I promise.
She put the phone away and fell into step beside Monica, feeling, for the first time since she'd landed in Cascadia, something other than lonely.
*
Monica's car, a Prius, of course, waited at the curb, so quiet Ren almost walked past it twice before Monica's deadpan beep brought her back to earth. The ride from coffee shop to townhouse was barely ten minutes, Cascadia's evening traffic slowed only by cyclists and that one family of ducks that everyone in the neighborhood protected with a fervor bordering on religious.
Inside the car, Monica's presence seemed to fill more space than it did at the table. She adjusted the heat with precise little flicks, hands at ten and two, posture military-straight. The Bluetooth auto-paired but she left the stereo silent, as if to let the aftertaste of their conversation settle in undisturbed. Ren, still caffeinated to the edge of panic, tried not to fidget with the seatbelt, her hands picking at the hem of her thrifted bomber jacket.
She almost expected Monica's place to be a sterile cube, all glass and concrete, an accidental extension of her research persona. Instead, the townhouse was warm in an expensive way; intelligent lighting, real-wood floors, matte black and deep moss-green accents. It was the sort of interior that suggested both money and an allergy to clutter, but the presence of houseplants under grow lamps and a battered copy of The Little Prince on the entry table made it feel lived in, rather than staged for a magazine. Ren immediately clocked the subtle difference: Monica's life was organized, but not performatively so.
Monica led her past the kitchen (open, but not open-concept, something about the sight lines said privacy was engineered into the floorplan) and down a wide hallway lined with framed photographs. The frames were mismatched: some art gallery sleek, some cheap plastic with the original price tag still on the glass. The photos themselves were a history of small, strange moments, rain on a window, a parking meter wearing a crocheted scarf, a squirrel making off with someone's sandwich. Not a single selfie or posed portrait among them.
Ren felt herself cataloguing the space, trying to find the code behind the decor, but Monica didn't offer a tour or explanations. She stopped in front of a closed door, placed her hand on it not quite like she owned it, but like she respected what was on the other side.
"Ready?" Monica asked.
Ren forced herself to nod. "As I'll ever be."
Monica pushed the door inward and gestured for Ren to enter first. The playroom, because that word was correct and also wildly insufficient, was almost insultingly neat. Shelves lined one wall, each cubby labeled in perfect, tiny handwriting: Rope. Wipes. Gloves. Candles. There were impact implements (Ren recognized about half and was certain the rest would require a whole second education), a rolling cart stocked with lotions and balms, a mirror spiked with LED strip lights, and a small table already set with two glasses of water.
The room was designed for utility, not intimidation. No red velvet, no fake cobwebs, no gothic candelabras, just the same minimal, functional, slightly Scandinavian aesthetic as the rest of the house, but with a few extra steel hooks in the ceiling and a yoga mat in the corner.
Ren took it in and immediately started babbling. "Wow, this is... organized. I mean, I knew you were organized, but this is, like, quantifiably organized. How many spreadsheets went into this?"
Monica arched an eyebrow. "Three, at last count. Two for inventory, one for scheduling."
"That's," Ren began, then aborted the sentence before it became an essay about the value of serialized containers in logistics. Instead, she nodded, momentarily at a loss.
Monica let her have the moment, then said, "Sit, if you like," and gestured at a surprisingly sturdy folding chair. Ren perched, hands between her knees, tail wrapped tight around her leg like an anxious cat.
"Is this the part where you explain the rules?" Ren asked.
"Almost," Monica said. She sat opposite Ren, barely a meter of soft carpet between them. "First, I want to know what you actually want from tonight. Not in the existential sense, just, what's on the menu for you? What are you curious about trying, what are you not ready for, what sounds fun and what sounds like a hard no?"
Ren almost defaulted to humor again, but Monica's face was so sincerely open it felt disrespectful to dodge. "Uh," she said, "I think I want to know what it feels like to be told what to do, and to have it matter. Not as a joke. And I don't want to get hurt, so, like, nothing with actual pain, and I don't want to be... I guess, humiliated? I don't like being called names. I just want to know if I can turn my brain off for a minute, if that makes sense."
"It makes sense," Monica said. "Anything off the table besides pain and humiliation?"
Ren thought, then added, "No needles, no photos, and nothing that would make me cry in front of a camera crew."
"Noted. And is there anything you want to prioritize?"
Ren squirmed. "If there's a way to, um, feel physically restrained without, like, being trussed up like a roast? I want to know what that's like. But not ropes. I saw a bad movie about it once and now the knots give me hives."
"Easy," Monica said, like she was being asked to make toast. "We can use cuffs, or even your own hands. There's no requirement to do anything the hard way."
Ren's face went hot at the casual mention of cuffs. She'd read about them, seen them in pictures, but hearing the word in a real room from a real person made it feel so much more plausible. "Okay."
"This part, by the way," Monica said, "has a name. Negotiation. We do it before every scene, not just this one. Every time, with every partner, no exceptions, no matter how many times you've done this before or how well you think you already know each other."
"Even after tonight?"
"Especially after tonight." Monica said it plainly, like a fact rather than a rule. "What you want changes. What you can handle on a good day isn't always what you can handle on a bad one. Anyone who skips this step isn't saving time, they're taking a risk with something that isn't theirs to risk."
Monica nodded. "Now the rules. Yours and mine. I'll give you some, then you can add or veto as you see fit. Sound fair?"
"Yeah," Ren said, feeling her heart stutter in her chest. "That's fair."
Monica's voice shifted, imperceptibly but absolutely, from gentle to deliberate. "First rule: at any point, for any reason, you say stop and I stop. No discussion, no trying to talk you out of it."
Ren nodded, but Monica held up a finger. "Say it out loud. Just so I know you can."
"Stop," Ren said, not quite making eye contact.
"Good," Monica said. "Second, if I ask you a question about how you're feeling, you answer honestly. Even if the answer is 'I don't know.' If you want to gloss or joke, that's fine, but you have to give me the honest answer as well."
Ren nodded again.
"Third," Monica continued, "everything we do tonight stays in this room unless you say otherwise. Nothing leaves here, not even as a funny anecdote."
"That's a rule for me too," Ren said. Then her ears tipped forward. "Wait. Cassie. My partner. She knows I'm here, and I'm going to tell her... probably everything, honestly. Is that..."
"That's not gossip, that's your partner." Monica said it without hesitation. "Tell her everything, if that's what you two do. Just respect my privacy the same way I'm respecting your comfort, and we're fine."
"Fourth," Monica said, "you pick your safeword. It can be anything not likely to come up naturally in conversation."
Ren's brain went full committee. She wanted something clever, something memorable, something that would make Monica laugh if it ever came up. Her first thought was 'uncanny valley,' but she couldn't imagine screaming that in a real moment of panic.
She blurted, "What about 'kernel panic'?"
Monica suppressed a grin. "Creative. But I'd rather have something a little softer, in case you ever want to use this for non-robotic activities."
Ren considered. "Teddy bear?"
That earned a real smile. "Teddy bear is perfect. And if you need to use it, you use it. No judgments, no points lost."
Ren repeated it, quietly, under her breath: "Teddy bear."
Monica stood, not abruptly, but with a subtle flourish that made Ren's attention snap to her. Gone was the slightly hunched, mouse-voiced academic from the coffee shop. Monica reached behind her head and let her hair down, then unbuttoned the cuffs of her shirt and rolled them up, exposing forearms that were corded and strong in a way Ren hadn't clocked earlier. She closed the distance between them with a casual stride, then knelt, not quite at Ren's feet but close enough that Ren's tail curled involuntarily.
Monica looked up, and there was a new gravity in her gray eyes. "May I touch your hands?"
Ren nodded, but Monica waited for an actual word.
"Yes," Ren said, and it came out smaller than she'd intended.
Monica took Ren's hands, both of them, palms up, gentle but firm, thumbs tracing slow arcs near the pulse points. Ren felt the heat in her face and, unexpectedly, in her chest and lower belly. Monica's grip was neither punishing nor possessive; it was simply certain, like there was no universe in which she could drop or mishandle what she'd been given.
"You're vibrating," Monica observed, not unkindly.
"Sorry. I'm just..."
"It means you're present," Monica said. "Not a bad thing."
She released one hand, then used her free palm to tilt Ren's chin upward, just a fraction, just enough to make Ren feel seen. "If you want to stop, you say stop. If you want to slow down, you tell me that too. There's no wrong speed here."
Ren swallowed. "Okay."
"Good girl," Monica said, testing the words like she was checking whether they fit, and something in Ren's chest lit up before her brain even caught up to why.
Monica released her hands slowly, deliberately, the way someone sets down something breakable when they're sure the surface beneath it can hold the weight. She rose, no longer kneeling, and the shift in her height relative to Ren's seated position did something to the air in the room that Ren couldn't name yet.
"Before we do anything else," Monica said, "I want to tell you something, and I want you to actually hear it, not just nod along."
Ren straightened in the chair. "Okay."
"People think being a dominant is about being big. Loud. Strong. Scary." Monica's voice hadn't gotten louder, if anything it had gotten quieter, but it filled more of the room than it had a minute ago. "It isn't. I could be twice your size and it wouldn't matter if you didn't trust me. Authority isn't something I take. It's something you give me, on purpose, because you've decided I've earned it. The moment you stop deciding that, I have nothing. That's the whole secret. There isn't a bigger one hiding under it."
Ren's ears twitched, processing. "So it's not about you being... I don't know. In charge."
"I am in charge. But only because you're choosing to let me be, one moment at a time, and you can take that back whenever you want. That's not a loophole. That's the entire foundation." Monica tilted her head slightly. "Does that make sense?"
"I think so." Ren's voice came out smaller than usual. "It's kind of the opposite of what I expected."
"Most people expect the opposite. That's usually where they get hurt, the ones who think control is something someone else can just take from them without permission, or the ones doing the taking who think it works that way." Monica's expression didn't shift, but something behind her eyes did, brief and serious. "It doesn't. Not here, not with me, and not with anyone doing this properly."
Ren nodded slowly, feeling the weight of it settle somewhere real instead of theoretical. "Okay. I get it. I think I actually get it."
"Good." And there, in that single word, Ren heard the last trace of the coffee shop's careful, gentle instructor fully give way to something else, something that had always been sitting just beneath the surface, patient and certain and finally, finally let out to breathe.
Monica stepped closer, close enough that Ren had to tilt her chin up to hold her gaze, and reached out to tuck a strand of damp green hair behind Ren's ear, unhurried, like she had all the time in the world and intended to use every second of it.
"Then let's begin," Monica said. "Tonight, we're going to keep it simple. Level one. Nothing complicated, just some light restraints, velcro, easy to shake off if you need to. This is about seeing how you handle yourself, not about how much you can take."
Ren's breath caught, and somewhere beneath the nerves, beneath the caffeine and the rain and three months of loneliness, something in her finally, quietly, let go.
"Okay," she said, and it came out steadier than she expected. "I can do that."
"Good girl," Monica said, and the last of the mouse from the coffee shop was gone entirely.
Ren closed her eyes and took a deep breath. When she opened them again, the nerves were still there, but they'd stopped being in charge.
The shift was quiet, almost imperceptible, like a lock clicking shut in a door Ren hadn't realized was already closing behind her. The room didn't change. The lighting stayed the same warm amber. The carpet under her sneakers was still the same carpet. But the air had weight to it now, the kind of weight that pressed against her chest and made her ears go soft and attentive, the way they did when she heard a sound she couldn't quite identify and needed to.
Monica didn't say anything for a moment. She just looked at Ren, and the looking was its own kind of touch, patient and thorough, mapping every inch of her before a single finger had been laid on her skin.
"Hands behind your back," Monica said.
The words landed clean, no room in them, and Ren's arms moved before her brain had finished parsing the sentence. Wrists crossed at the small of her back, fingers lacing together out of sheer reflex, like her body had been waiting for someone to tell it what to do and had decided not to waste time asking permission.
The velcro cuffs came next. Monica didn't fumble with them. She took Ren's wrists one at a time, wrapped the padded straps with a crisp efficiency that suggested she'd done this hundreds of times and intended to do it hundreds more, and cinched them snug enough to hold, loose enough that Ren could feel the give if she needed it. The sound of the velcro tearing open and pressing shut filled the quiet room, twice, and then her hands were bound.
Ren's breath came out shaky. She hadn't expected her body to obey that fast, that completely, without a single moment of negotiation between the command and the compliance. Her tail curled tight against her leg, betraying her.
"Stand."
She stood. The chair scraped behind her, and she was on her feet, hands trapped behind her back, shoulders already pulling into a posture she didn't recognize as her own.
"Walk to the wall."
She walked. The carpet was soft under her sneakers, and she counted the steps because her brain needed something to do besides notice how her hips swayed without her permission, how the motion of walking with her hands bound made her feel smaller, more contained, like something being moved from one shelf to another.
"Turn."
She turned, and the wall was cool against her back through her shirt, and she could hear Monica behind her, close, closer than she'd expected, the soft sound of breath and the rustle of fabric.
"Face me."
She turned again, and Monica was right there, barely an inch of space between them, close enough that Ren could smell the herbal tea on her breath and something underneath it, warm and clean, like cedar and skin. The mouse was shorter, softer, smaller in every measurable way, and none of that mattered because the space between them belonged entirely to her.
Monica looked up at her, and Ren looked down, and the silence lasted exactly as long as Monica wanted it to.
"Good girl."
Two words, flat, declarative, delivered the way someone might stamp a document. Not warm. Not gentle. Ownership, not affection. And Ren's whole body lit up like a switchboard, her ears flattening, her tail going rigid, a flush spreading from her chest up through her neck and into her face so fast she was certain Monica could see it in real time.
Monica reached up and took a strand of Ren's green hair between her fingers. She rolled it slowly, feeling the texture, the way it was still slightly damp from the rain outside, the way the neon color caught the LED light and threw it back in soft, muted greens.
"Soft," Monica said. Not a compliment, exactly. An observation filed for later use. She let the strand fall and moved on.
Her hands came up to Ren's shoulders, palms flat, and she pressed down, not hard, just enough to feel the give in Ren's frame. She walked a slow circle around her, and Ren stood perfectly still because no one had told her to move and her body had decided that meant she shouldn't.
Monica stopped behind her. Ren felt the warmth of her before she felt the touch, and then Monica's hands were on her hips, fingers spreading wide, thumbs pressing into the dip above her pelvis.
"Wide," Monica said, and the word landed somewhere low in Ren's belly and stayed there. "Good hips. Built to hold something."
Ren's breath caught. Her tail curled tighter.
Monica's hands slid down, over the curve of her ass, and squeezed. Not a grab, not a grope, something more deliberate than either, a slow, testing compression that took the full measure of her and held it. Ren felt her cheeks spread under the pressure, felt the fabric of her pants pull tight across the widest part of her, and a sound escaped her that she didn't authorize.
Monica squeezed again, firmer this time, and Ren's knees went soft for half a second before she locked them.
"Full," Monica said, and released. "Good."
She came around to the front, and her hands found Ren's breasts through the graphic tee. She cupped them both at once, palms flat, fingers spread, and lifted. The weight settled into her hands, and Monica held them there, testing, weighing, her thumbs pressing into the soft fur over Ren's nipples until they stiffened and pushed back against the fabric.
"Generous," Monica said. She squeezed once, slow, and Ren's whole body shuddered. "Very generous."
Ren's mouth had fallen open without her noticing. She could feel her own breath coming out hot and wet, could feel her cock thickening against the front of her pants, could feel every nerve ending in her body screaming at full volume about exactly how much she liked being handled like this.
Monica noticed the open mouth. Of course she did.
"Open wider."
Ren opened wider, and the effort of it, jaw stretched, breath coming ragged through her nose, made her whole body feel like it was on display in a way the nudity alone hadn't quite managed.
Monica brought her right hand up and pressed a single finger against Ren's tongue. The pad of it rested there, warm, dry, and Ren held perfectly still because she'd been told to open and hadn't been told to close. Her tongue twitched against the pressure, involuntary, and heat flooded straight down through her chest at how exposed a single finger could make her feel. Monica pressed down, feeling the texture, the give, the wet heat of it, and her expression didn't change but something behind her eyes shifted, cataloguing. Ren's throat worked around a swallow she couldn't manage with her mouth held open like this, and a needy, muffled sound escaped her before she could stop it.
"Soft," she said again, and withdrew the finger, slow, dragging it across the flat of Ren's tongue on the way out. A thin string of saliva followed it, and Ren didn't close her mouth because she hadn't been told to, chest heaving, painfully aware of how badly she wanted that finger back.
Monica's gaze dropped lower, past Ren's chin, past her heaving chest, down to where the bulge in her pants was now unmistakable, straining hard enough to ache. She looked at it for exactly as long as it took to confirm its existence, her expression flat, unimpressed, the same way she might have glanced at a piece of furniture she'd already inventoried.
Then she looked back up at Ren's face and moved on.
"Arms up."
Ren raised her arms as far as the cuffs would allow, which wasn't far, and Monica took the hem of her graphic tee in both hands and pulled it up and over Ren's head in one smooth motion. The fabric caught on Ren's ears, on the cuffs, and Monica worked it free without hurry, without apology, the way someone might unwrap a package they'd been expecting.
The cool air hit Ren's bare chest and she shivered, her heavy breasts swaying with the motion, her green tuft of fur between them standing out bright against the gray of her chest, nipples still stiff and aching from the attention they'd already had. Monica folded the shirt, precisely, and set it on the table beside them without looking at it.
"Good girl."
The buckle of Ren's belt came next. Monica worked it open with steady fingers, the leather sliding through the loops with a soft hiss, and then her hands were at Ren's waistband, unbuttoning, unzipping, and the pants slid down Ren's hips and pooled at her ankles. Monica crouched, and Ren stepped out of them one foot at a time, her balance precarious with her hands behind her back, and Monica caught her elbow once, steadying her, then released it the moment she was stable.
The pants joined the shirt on the table. Neat. Folded. Filed.
Ren stood in her panties now, just a plain black pair, and she could feel everything, the air on her bare legs, the weight of her breasts without the shirt to hold them, the way her cock strained against the thin fabric, the wet spot already forming at the tip, the low, insistent throb that had been building since the moment her wrists were bound and showed no sign of stopping now. Monica looked at all of it with the same measured attention she'd given everything else.
Then her hands hooked into the waistband of Ren's panties and pulled them down.
They dropped to Ren's knees, and Monica didn't bother going further. Ren's cock sprang free, stiff, flushed dark at the tip, a bead of precum already rolling down the underside, and Monica glanced at it the way she might have glanced at a clock on the wall, noted, filed, irrelevant to the current task. Ren's whole body burned at the dismissal, some tangled knot of relief and want twisting tight in her stomach at being seen so completely and still not given a single moment's attention where she needed it most.
She straightened up and looked at Ren, fully naked now, bound, breathing hard, her green hair falling across her face, her tail curled so tight it looked like it might snap.
Monica reached up and brushed the hair out of Ren's eyes, tucking it behind her ear with that same unhurried precision.
"Kneel."
Ren knelt.
Her knees hit the carpet and she sank down, her bound hands settling against the small of her back, her thighs spreading just enough to accommodate the width of her hips, her cock standing rigid between them, untouched, ignored, leaking steadily onto the soft pile of the rug. She looked up at Monica from below, breath shaking, every nerve in her body drawn tight and waiting, and the mouse looked down at her like she had all the time in the world left to spend.
"Good," Monica said. Simple. Flat. A period at the end of a sentence nobody else had been writing.
Her fingers found Ren's chin, firm, precise, the tips pressing into the soft fur just below her jaw, and tilted her head down. Not rough, not gentle. Purposeful. The kind of tilt that left no room for misinterpretation, for staring at the ceiling, for looking anywhere but exactly where she was being aimed.
Ren's gaze dropped to Monica's waistband, and her breath hitched.
The bulge there had been subtle before, hidden under loose pants, folded into the careful architecture of a mouse who'd spent her whole life learning how to carry things nobody expected her to carry. Now, up close, from this angle, Ren could see it properly: the heavy, unmistakable shape of it straining against dark fabric, thick enough to pull the material taut, the head of it outlined in sharp relief against the left thigh, already wet at the tip where a dark spot had soaked through.
Monica's free hand went to her own waistband. She hooked her thumb into the elastic and pulled, and the pants slid down her hips with the same unhurried efficiency she'd applied to every other motion tonight, like undressing was just another form of organization, and the thing that came out from behind the fabric was...
Gods.
Ren's brain stalled.
It was enormous. Not in any polite, clinical sense of the word. Blunt, flat-tipped, thick enough that Ren's brain kept refusing to file it under the species standing in front of her. It curved up from a neat nest of brown fur, heavy balls hanging low beneath, to a point well past Monica's navel, solid black from base to head, and no matter how many times Ren's eyes ran the length of it, the math would not math. A mouse. A five-foot-nothing mouse with owlish glasses and a cardigan collection, carrying something that should have been doing laps around Wimbledon.
The app profile. Trans. The word surfaced from somewhere in the back of Ren's brain, the little bio blurb she'd half-read in the coffee shop bathroom between nervous swipes, the casual mention Monica had made of her own body without fanfare. It hadn't landed then. It landed now, with the full weight of the thing swaying six inches from her face.
She didn't get to think about it longer than that.
"Be a good girl," Monica said, and her grip on Ren's chin tightened just enough to make the bones of her jaw shift, "open up, and put that pretty mouth of yours to work."
Ren opened her mouth.
The head of Monica's cock pressed against her lower lip, hot, impossibly wide, the skin slick with pre already, and Ren's jaw strained to accommodate it before she'd even made the conscious decision to try. Her tongue pressed flat, her lips stretched around the girth, and she got maybe an inch, maybe two, before the blunt head pushed past the threshold of her control and the rest of it came forward in one smooth, deliberate thrust.
Halfway down her throat. Maybe more.
The gag reflex hit her like a wall, violent and immediate, her throat seizing around the intrusion, her eyes flooding with tears she didn't have time to blink away. She couldn't breathe. She couldn't think. Her bound hands strained behind her back, fingers clawing at nothing, and a wet, choking sound tore out of her around the shaft, muffled and desperate and not at all like the practiced, pornographic moans she'd imagined herself making in the shower that morning.
Monica's fingers slid into the hollows of Ren’s ears, thumbs pressing just behind the cartilage, not hard enough to hurt but firm enough that when she pulled, Ren’s head followed. The first tug brought her forward, the head of Monica’s cock pushing past her lips, stretching her jaw wider than she thought possible. The second motion reversed, Monica's grip tightened, and Ren’s throat released with a wet, shuddering gasp as she was pulled back, her tongue dragging along the underside of the shaft. The third time, Monica didn’t let go. She held Ren there, suspended, her breath ragged against the slick heat of the cock filling her mouth, her ears burning where Monica’s fingers curled into them like reins.
Ren's eyes rolled back, tears tracking hot down her cheeks, her nose pressed against the brown fur of Monica's lower belly every time she was pulled all the way in. The air came in short, stolen gulps between pulls, and the rhythm was everything now, Monica's grip on her ears the only fixed point in a universe that had narrowed to the wet heat of a mouth being used.
Two thrusts. Three. Four. Ren lost count. Her throat burned. Her jaw ached. Tears and spit ran down her chin in equal measure, soaking the fur of her chest, dripping onto her thighs where they knelt spread on the carpet. The sounds she was making weren't moans anymore. They were something more raw, more animal, wet choking gasps timed to the rhythm of a cock she hadn't asked for and couldn't refuse.
Monica pulled out.
Not all the way. Just enough that the head rested on Ren's tongue, thick and heavy, and Ren could breathe through her mouth in desperate, shaking gulps, her chest heaving, her whole body trembling so hard she could feel it in her teeth.
A pause. Deliberate. Measured.
Ren could have tapped out. She could have said the word, said teddy bear, said anything, and it would have stopped. She knew that. Some part of her brain that hadn't been swallowed by the cock still functioned enough to know the safeword existed and that it would work. She turned it over in her mind like a stone, testing its weight, and found she didn't want to throw it.
She was trembling. She was leaking, her own cock untouched and throbbing between her legs, a steady drip of pre pooling on the carpet beneath her. She was a mess of tears and spit and want so acute it felt like a physical wound, and she wanted more. She wanted it so badly her body was already leaning forward without permission, her mouth opening wider, her tongue reaching for the head still resting on it like an offering she was begging to be allowed to take back.
Monica watched her lean. Watched the decision play out across Ren's face in real time, the hesitation, the calculation, the surrender, and something behind her glasses shifted, satisfied.
Another thrust. Shorter this time, controlled, just enough to remind Ren who was setting the pace, and then back, the head dragging across her tongue, and Ren's whole body shuddered at the taste of it, salt and skin and something darker underneath.
"Good girl," Monica said, and the praise landed somewhere below Ren's sternum and detonated. "Now stand up."
Ren stood.
Her legs didn't want to cooperate. Her knees ached from the carpet, her thighs were shaking, her balance was shot through with the aftershock of being on her knees with a cock in her throat, and she swayed for a half-second before locking her joints and forcing herself upright. Her bound hands pulled at the small of her back, her shoulders burning, and she stood there naked and dripping and breathing through her mouth like she'd just run a race she hadn't trained for.
Behind her, the rolling cart rattled softly. A cap clicked. Then came the slow, slick sounds of Monica coating herself, unhurried and thorough as everything else she did, and Ren, eyes forward, seeing none of it, felt every small sound land like a countdown.
Monica's shadow swallowed Ren's first. Then the heat of her arrived, a slow press of warmth against Ren's bare back, the wool of Monica's sweater rasping against her shoulder blades like a cat's tongue. The fur at Monica's waist, thick, brown, still carrying the faint scent of the coffee shop, brushed Ren's gray tail, and Ren's breath hitched, her ribs expanding against the sudden weight of Monica's forearm. The hand at her sternum was wide, fingers splayed, thumb resting just below her throat, not tight enough to choke, but firm enough that Ren could feel the pulse of Monica's wrist against her fur.
Ren's breath came in short, wet bursts against the inside of that arm. A drizzle of lube came first, cool and startling, running down the cleft of her ass and making her clench against nothing. Then Monica's cock pressed between her cheeks from behind, hot, heavy, freshly slicked, the head resting against her entrance with a weight that made her thighs clench involuntarily. It throbbed. She could feel each pulse of it against her skin, slow and insistent, and the knowledge that it was still hard, still wanting, still right there, sent a fresh wave of heat flooding through her belly.
Monica's mouth found her ear. Close. Warm breath against the sensitive inner fur, the soft brush of lips against cartilage, and when she spoke, her voice was low enough that Ren felt it more than heard it, vibration traveling through bone and skin and settling somewhere behind her navel.
"You've done well tonight," Monica said, quiet and certain, the same measured tone she'd used all evening, but warmed now by a fraction of a degree, like a hand adjusting a dial it had been waiting to adjust. "Your reward: you get to fuck yourself on it."
Ren's brain short-circuited.
The grip around her chest eased, not letting go, just giving her room, Monica's arm still there, a tether, a boundary, but the pressure soft enough now that Ren could move her hips, could shift her weight, could feel the full length of that impossible cock pressed against the fur between her cheeks and understand, with perfect, devastating clarity, exactly what she was being told to do.
She reached back with bound hands as far as the velcro would allow, fingers brushing the shaft, feeling the heat of it, the thickness, the way it jumped under her touch like something alive. She guided it. Slowly. Her hips tilted forward, then back, and the head pressed against her entrance, blunt and insistent, and Ren's breath left her in a single ragged exhale.
She pushed back.
The head breached her, and the stretch was immediate and total, her body opening around a girth it had no business accommodating, and Ren made a sound that was not a word, not a moan, something between a sob and a prayer, her knees buckling for a half-second before Monica's arm tightened and held her upright. She sank onto it by inches, her body fighting and yielding in equal measure, the thick shaft splitting her open with a steady, relentless pressure that sent white sparks cascading behind her closed eyelids.
Halfway. She stopped. Couldn't go further. Her body was trembling around the intrusion, her ass clenching in involuntary pulses, and she could feel every inch of what was inside her, every vein, every throb, the heat of it radiating outward through her pelvis and up into her spine.
Then she rocked forward.
Not all the way off. Just enough to feel the head catch at her rim, the drag of it pulling at nerves she didn't know she had, and then back, sinking deeper, another inch, another fraction of an inch, her body opening like a fist unclenching around something it had decided, against all evidence, to keep.
She found a rhythm. Slow. Ungainly. Her bound hands pulled uselessly at the cuffs behind her back, her hips moving in small, desperate circles, rising and falling on a cock that seemed to grow thicker with every thrust. The sounds were obscene, wet, slapping, the meaty impact of flesh against flesh, the tight suction of her body refusing to let go on the upstroke, and Ren could hear all of it, could feel all of it, could feel the way Monica's breath had finally, finally started to come faster against the back of her neck.
Monica's free hand came up.
Not to help. Not to guide. To claim.
Her fingers found Ren's left breast, cupped it from below, and squeezed. The grip was firm, proprietary, her palm fitting the curve of the heavy flesh like it had been measured for it, and her thumb found Ren's nipple and pressed, rolled, pinched with a precision that made Ren's whole body jerk.
"That's it. Those hips weren't lying to me." Her palm pressed flat against Ren's stomach, feeling the shape of her from outside. "Now be a good girl and come on my fat cock."
Ren's breath came in broken, wet gasps. Her thighs burned. Her bound wrists ached. Her tail had gone rigid behind her, every hair standing on end, and she could feel her orgasm building like a wave she couldn't outrun, cresting, cresting, cresting...
It hit her.
Her whole body seized. Her back arched against Monica's chest. Her ass clenched tight around the cock buried inside her, gripping, milking, and her cock pulsed untouched, cum shooting across the carpet in thick, hot ropes, her stomach clenching, her thighs shaking, her mouth falling open in a soundless scream as the orgasm tore through her in waves she couldn't count.
And inside her, Monica went rigid.
Ren felt it, the sudden stillness, the sharp intake of breath against her ear, the way Monica's hands tightened on her breasts hard enough to bruise, and then the cock inside her throbbed, once, twice, three times, and she felt the warm flood of cum filling her, thick and pulsing, and Monica's hips pressed forward, burying herself to the hilt, holding there as the last of it emptied into Ren's clenching, trembling body.
For a long moment, neither of them moved.
Ren hung there, shaking, supported entirely by Monica's arm around her chest, cum still dripping from her cock, her ass still full, her whole body spent and buzzing and alive in a way she hadn't felt in months, maybe years. Her ears had gone completely soft, flopped to the sides, and her tail hung limp behind her, and she couldn't have formed a coherent thought if someone had paid her.
Monica's breathing steadied first. The hands on Ren's breasts gentled, thumbs tracing slow, soothing circles over nipples that were too sensitive now, too raw, and Ren flinched at the touch but didn't pull away.
"Easy," Monica murmured. "Easy. I've got you."
She pulled out slowly, carefully, and Ren felt the loss of it like a physical ache, her body clenching around nothing, cum already starting to leak down the inside of her thigh. Monica's arm tightened around her, keeping her upright, and guided her, step by unsteady step, toward the leather chair in the corner.
Ren sank into it. The leather was cool against her overheated skin; soft, giving, and she collapsed into it limply, her bound hands pressed between her back and the cushion, her legs spread, her cock still half-hard and glistening, cum and precum mixing on her belly, on her thighs, on the dark leather beneath her. Her chest rose and fell in slow, heavy waves.
*
The couch was softer than anything in Ren's hotel room. She sank into it like something boneless, her body still buzzing with the aftershock of everything that had happened in the playroom, her brain running on whatever chemical cocktail got released when you came so hard you forgot your own name for a minute.
Monica had wrapped her in a blanket at some point. Ren didn't remember when. The fabric was fleece, gray, slightly pilled from washing, and it smelled like lavender and something else she couldn't place. Her wrists ached in a way that felt earned, and her ass was sore in a way that felt like a souvenir from a vacation she hadn't known she was taking.
On the TV mounted to the wall, Sylvester Stallone was explaining to Sandra Bullock how the three seashells worked. Or rather, he was very pointedly not explaining, because that was the joke, and Ren had seen Demolition Man enough times to mouth the dialogue along with it but couldn't summon the energy to move her lips.
"The seashells," she mumbled instead, to no one in particular.
Monica glanced at the screen from where she was kneeling on the carpet, working her thumbs into the tender skin at Ren's wrists. "No one ever explains the seashells."
"That's the point."
"I know that's the point." Monica's voice was gentle, but there was a thread of dry amusement running through it, the first glimpse of the coffee shop Monica since they'd left the playroom. "I've seen this movie eleven times."
"Eleven?"
"It was on cable a lot in the nineties."
Ren let her head fall back against the couch cushion. The ceiling was white. Unremarkable. She stared at it anyway.
"I can't feel my legs," she said.
"That's normal."
"Is it?"
"For about another twenty minutes, yes." Monica's thumbs found a knot just below Ren's palm and pressed into it, slow and deliberate, and Ren made a sound that was half groan, half sigh. "Then you'll get hungry."
"I'm already hungry."
"Then you're ahead of schedule." Monica released her wrist and stood, brushing carpet lint off her knees. "I'll get snacks. Stay there."
Ren didn't have the energy to go anywhere. She watched Monica disappear through a doorway that led to what was probably a kitchen, and then she was alone with Sylvester Stallone and the low hum of the refrigerator turning on somewhere in the walls.
The blanket was warm. The couch was soft. Her body was a collection of aches and satisfactions she couldn't quite separate, and for the first time in three months, the silence in the room didn't feel like loneliness.
On screen, Wesley Snipes was doing something villainous. Ren watched without watching, her brain drifting in and out of focus, cataloguing sensations. The soreness in her throat. The tenderness at her wrists. The slow, cooling trickle between her thighs that she was trying very hard not to think about because thinking about it made her face go hot all over again.
She thought about Cassie instead. About the phone call she'd have to make later, the update she'd promised, the way Cassie's voice would go low and interested when Ren got to the good parts. The thought made her smile, small and private, tucked into the corner of her mouth where no one could see it.
Monica came back with a tray.
The tray had crackers on it, the fancy kind with seeds, and some kind of soft cheese, and sliced apples, and a glass of water with a lemon wedge floating in it like it had aspirations of being a spa. She set it on the coffee table in front of Ren and sat down on the other end of the couch, leaving a comfortable distance between them.
"Eat," Monica said. "Your blood sugar is probably in the basement."
Ren reached for a cracker. Her hand was shaking, just a little, and she watched it shake with a kind of detached curiosity. "Is that normal too?"
"Also normal."
"You say that a lot."
"Because most things are." Monica tucked her legs up under her, looking smaller again, softer, the glasses back on her face and the cardigan retrieved from somewhere. She looked like a librarian who'd just finished a very intense cataloguing session. "The body does what the body does. It's not usually a mystery."
Ren bit into the cracker. It was good. Salty. She hadn't realized how much she needed salt until it hit her tongue.
On TV, the future police were doing something with stun batons. Ren chewed and watched and let her brain coast on the familiar rhythms of a movie she'd seen a dozen times.
"I have to go get something," Monica said, after a few minutes of companionable silence. "Will you be okay here for a bit?"
Ren nodded. Her mouth was full of apple.
Monica stood, hesitated for half a second like she was checking something off a mental list, and then disappeared down the hallway toward the back of the house.
Ren ate another cracker. Then another. The cheese was brie, or something like brie, soft and slightly too strong for her taste but satisfying in the way food was satisfying when your body had just been through something it was still processing. She drank half the water in one long pull and felt her head clear by a few degrees.
The movie kept playing. Sandra Bullock was explaining something about the Arnold Schwarzenegger presidential library. Ren had forgotten that joke was in there.
She pulled the blanket tighter around her shoulders and let herself sink into the couch. Her tail was still limp, draped over the armrest like a discarded scarf, and she didn't have the energy to move it. Her ears had gone soft and sideways, the way they did when every ounce of tension had been wrung out of her body.
She thought about the playroom. About the velcro cuffs. About the way Monica's voice had shifted, the precise moment the softness had calcified into something else entirely.
She thought about the cock. About the stretch of it, the weight, the way it had filled her so completely she'd forgotten there was anything outside of it.
She thought about the way she'd come without being touched, her own cock pulsing against her belly, and the low, satisfied sound Monica had made against the back of her neck when she felt it happen.
Her face went hot. She shoved another cracker in her mouth and stared very intently at Sylvester Stallone.
Monica came back.
She was carrying a large red envelope, the kind that looked like it belonged in a lawyer's office or a period drama about inheritance disputes. It was sealed with actual wax, a deep burgundy circle stamped with something Ren couldn't make out from this angle, and Monica held it with both hands like it was something that mattered.
She crossed the room and sat back down on the couch, closer this time, and set the envelope on the cushion between them.
"This is for you," Monica said.
Ren looked at the envelope. Then at Monica. Then back at the envelope.
"Is this... a bill?"
Monica's lips twitched. "No."
"A restraining order?"
"Also no."
"A certificate of participation? 'Congratulations, you survived your first scene, here's a gold star'?"
The twitch became a smile, small and contained but undeniably present. "Something like that."
Ren reached for it, but Monica's hand came down on top of hers, gentle but firm.
"Not here," Monica said. "Read it when you get back to your hotel. Alone. Take your time with it."
Ren's ears perked forward, curious despite herself. "What is it?"
"You'll know when you read it."
Ren didn't open it.
She just held it, and watched the rest of the movie curled into the corner of the couch, the envelope resting against her knees like something that might go off if she jostled it too hard. Monica settled back in beside her, close enough that their shoulders almost touched, and neither of them said much for the last twenty minutes of the film. It didn't need saying. Sylvester Stallone found his frozen burrito joke, Sandra Bullock rolled her eyes at something, and the credits rolled over a synth score that felt, somehow, exactly right for the mood in the room.
"Good movie," Ren said, when it ended.
"It's a perfect movie," Monica said. "Don't let anyone tell you different."
The car arrived a few minutes later, and Monica walked her to the door, wrapped in a cardigan again, glasses back in place, every trace of the woman from the playroom tucked away somewhere Ren now knew existed but couldn't see from the outside anymore. At the curb, Monica reached up and squeezed her hand once, brief and warm.
"Text me when you're back safe," she said. "And rest. Your body did a lot tonight."
"Yes ma'am," Ren said, without quite meaning to, and Monica's smile told her she'd noticed.
The rain had picked up by the time the car pulled away from the curb, streaking sideways across the window in thin silver lines. Ren watched the city blur past, streetlights smearing gold across the glass, and held the envelope in both hands the whole ride, turning it over without opening it, feeling the wax seal under her thumb like a secret she was allowed to keep for just a little while longer.
She thought about what could be inside it. A dozen answers came and went, each less likely than the last, and she gave up trying to guess somewhere around the second red light. Whatever it was, it could wait until she was alone with it, the way Monica had asked.
The hotel room was exactly as she'd left it. Same gray carpet, same anonymous watercolor bolted to the wall, same view of a parking garage that passed for a city view if you didn't look too hard. Ren shrugged out of her jacket, set the envelope on the nightstand where she could see it, and sat down on the edge of the bed.
Outside, the rain kept falling, steady and unbothered, tapping against the window the same way it had the night before.
But the room didn't feel loud this time.
Ren sat there for a while, listening to it, feeling the ache in her wrists and the strange, settled warmth in her chest that hadn't been there in months, and realized, somewhat to her own surprise, that for the first time since she'd landed in Cascadia, being alone didn't feel like being lonely at all.
She picked up her phone, typed a quick message to Cassie, home safe, huge updates, calling you tomorrow, and set it face-down on the nightstand next to the envelope.
Then she reached for the wax seal, and began to peel it back.
