This story is something that sprang out of my head. Although written from the point of view of my fursona, this did not actually happen, although I wouldn't mind if it did! <EG>

Rogal Ursus: Average sized anthro-brown bear, about 6'7" and running about 800#. Clothed in a leather vest, hat and shorts with outlet for tail. Small CZ earring in both ears, close to the head. Brown eyes, with small spectacles.

Vorah Nirsen: Large gold anthro-dragon, about 7 feet tall. Dressed in a simple robe with a sapphire pendant around his neck, Deep blue eyes

The Story So Far:

While working in a bookstore, Rogal meets Vorah Nirsen, the dragon in the village that everyone talks about. Vorah has come in looking for a rare Shakespeare volume, but has different things on his mind. After being asked out for a drink with the dragon, Rogal collapses and awakens to the dragon kneeling over him.

Previously...

"So why here why now," I asked with a note of concern.

"Your reputation precedes you Rogal. Your knowledge is known well throughout this village and other than the mayor, you are quite popular," he replied smiling, helping me to my feet. "The ones, who spent time with me, were quite impressed by the interludes I provided, but after a while, conversation turned towards you. And I was not the one who brought it up, as I did not know you."

That made me smile. "You know, Vorah, I think I will take you up on that offer for that drink," I replied walking with him towards the door and locking it from the outside.

As we stepped down into the village square, my boss came walking up.

"Rogal, where are you going," he asked, not even noticing my companion. "It's not clos-"He stopped after looking to my right and seeing him standing there. "Oh I am sorry Mr. Nirsen. I did not notice you there. What brings you by today?"

He stepped forward and shook my boss' hand, smiling all the time. "Good to see you again Borgen. I was in to see if you had the Shakespeare volume I had mentioned the last time I was here. Since you were out at the time, your apprentice and I decided to step out to the tavern for dinner," he replied, squeezing my paw slightly. I smiled at the contact.

"Ah yes, the First Folio edition. It arrived just yesterday. It is a fine specimen, in very good condition. Shall I place it on your account," the older bear replied, a glint in his eye. "When you return, I will have it wrapped and ready for you. Good evening Mr. Nirsen, Rogal. Oh and Rogal, if you want to take tomorrow off, that will be acceptable." The smile from him as we walked away was almost like a predator does to his prey before the attack.

"The one part of my reputation I do really despise," he spat. He stopped to face me, his eyes glinting in the lights from the village square. "That is of course, if you do wish to extend your company with me. I will not force you."

It was my turn to smile. I flashed a coy smile back to him, took his hand in mine again and continued to walk. "Let's take things one step at a time shall we?"

When we finally arrived at the tavern, we were shown to one of the tables in the upper area of the bar. A small table rounded by a rather comfortable booth with a very unassuming light hanging above, casting a small cone of light on the table, like a spotlight.

At this point, I began to get really nervous. He must have felt it, because he turned to me and smiled. "This is a regular table I have reserved. I never have liked the scene downstairs. So hard to get lost in conversation, especially with someone so interesting," he coyly stated.

At this point, if I was a human, I would be supremely embarrassed. "Y-you think I-I'm i-interesting? At most times, I surround myself in my books because I can get lost and feel invisible. I'm nobody," I began to sob. He leaned closer to me and the next thing he knew, he was kissing me deeply. The suddenness of it took my breath away.

"If you were a nobody, why would I do that," he snapped and then slapped my face. "That was for self-doubt. You must never doubt yourself Rogal. It is your wealth of knowledge that is your greatest asset. For god sakes, you work in a bookstore. You are known throughout the town as intelligent and trustworthy. The only other person more popular than you is the damn mayor, whom I despise. To be honest, the only reason I came to the store besides that book is to see you and to see if what everyone says about you is true."

"I-Is e-everything t-true t-that t-they s-say a-a-about m-m-me," I sputtered, looking down towards the table. I felt his hand stroke my check and lift my chin so I could see his eyes. They were the deepest shade of sapphire, just like his pendant. I felt those eyes peering into my soul. He let go of my chin and kissed me again, this time on the cheek. This time, he looked down; I could see tears streaming down his face. This time, he was crying.

"Rogal, the things they say do not do you justice. I would have not believed it until I had the opportunity to meet you," he choked out between sobs. "I fear that I may have fallen for you even before we met."

Our further conversation was interrupted by the arrival of our food. Two large glasses of white wine were served along with a plate of grilled chicken and vegetables. We sat and ate in silence, fearing to offend the other. The tension between us was almost electrifying, even the server who returned to clean up the plates noticed it.

The next thing I heard seemed to be from my mind. "I am sorry for being too forward, but after all the entertaining and trying to please people, I'm sick and tired and just want to find someone to share my life with and the things in my life I enjoy," his voice echoed. I shot a look at him with amazement.

"That's one of the many gifts about being a dragon," he replied, taking my paw in his again and stroking it slightly. "There are many more that I can show you if you would permit me to." He leaned forward for another kiss but was interrupted by the server bringing two small snifters of brandy.

"Mr.Nirsen, will you be requiring your regular room for the evening," the young server asked.

"Yes Samuel, please ready my usual suite. Oh, and tell your master that we require nothing else from the bar or kitchen and I will settle up in the morning," he replied, smiling with a smile that made the server almost jump in fear. Picking up one of the glasses of brandy he placed it in my hand. "To the beginning of I hope to be a new life."

I accepted the glass and smiled. I handed him the other glass. "To new beginnings."

After sipping the brandy and chatting for a while on a multitude of subject from literature to science, we realized that the noise in the bar had died down considerably. Getting up from the booth, I peered over the railing and noticed the bar had closed for the evening.

"Everyone has left. It is just us," I nervously joked.

"There's a reason for that. The barman and I have an arrangement. To be honest, I own the Tavern. The barman and the servers work for me. Whenever I show up for an evening, they know to close the bar early and leave. It is the only time that I can ever get any work done. This place takes a multitude of time invested to keep up with the finances," he sighed, standing up next to me looking over onto the empty bar floor, now shining with a fresh clean floor that shined in the little bit of light upon it. "Tell me Rogal, how are you at managing finances?"

I was stunned. I knew what he was thinking. I felt that I was about to stutter again. I took a deep breath and turned to face him. "I am surely not an expert, but if you are proposing what I think you are, I would be unwise to not accept," I proudly stated.

"Indeed, considering your reputation and the glowing words proclaimed by your boss, I would like you to manage the tavern. It is after all you graduated from apprentice to master my dear bear," he replied almost sadly, stroking my hand. A look of pure lust gleamed in his eyes. We both knew what was to transpire, and for once, I was not afraid.

"Let me show you what perks the owner of a tavern has," he stated guiding me up a flight of stairs and down the hallway. "This room also functions as my office when I am here, as well as my sanctuary to escape."

He opened the door and I was amazed by the sheer size of it. It had to have been about as large as the bookstore itself. Decorated in an old English style, several shelves of books hid the entrance into the bedroom. The bed itself, as I was guided to it, was a large canopy bed made of a deep cherry dressed with fine white linen that felt so soft to my touch. He sat me down on the edge and removed my shoes and placed them next to a small dresser. He came back and grabbed the back of my head with his hand and guided it to his lips, enveloping me in one of the most passionate embraces I have ever experienced.

After he broke the kiss, he proceeded to remove the rest of my clothing and placed it in the dresser. After closing the bed curtains on my side, he came around to the other side of the bed and removed his garments and closing the bed curtains on his side. Crawling in to bad and embracing me yet again, he planted another kiss upon my lips that filled my body with amazing warmth, stirring my loins.

"I wish to enjoy this, lover, so let's not rush things shall we," he asked before wrapping me in another embrace.
