Ménage à Trois

A young fox lady of good breeding sets out to learn more about her future husband and discovers more than she could have imagined.

"Really, my dear, I do not think you appreciate how fortunate you are. Charles is all that a woman could want: young, gallant, well-mannered and of good family. Many ladies would dream of marrying him."

"He is all of these things, true," Emily sighed and adjusted the ribbon-trimmed bonnet that shielded her exquisite little vulpine face from the fierce sun, "But I have a nagging suspicion that father finds his fortune even more commendable than his personality."

"Please, do not say such things! Your father only has your own good in mind. He will not be around forever - bless his soul - and he merely wants to ensure that you will always be safe and provided for."

Emily turned her head and gave her chaperone a soothing smile. Henrietta could be so old-fashioned, but she knew the old tabby cat always meant well.

"Do not think I am an ingrate. It is merely that I understand so little about what marriage really entails. I know that certain... duties from wife to husband are involved, but the specifics still evade me."

Henrietta shifted her gaze, "Do not worry about such things. All will become clear in due time, and I am sure Charles will behave like a gentleman."

"Yes, I trust you and father are right," the young fox lady nodded, "Though I long to understand this mystery. I feel that so much has been hidden from me."

A gust of light wind blew against her face and rustled her frock. The late summer day was cloudless, and the breeze was a welcome relief from the heat. The two ladies always went for a walk after the day's lessons, and the quaint, well-tended cottages and fields that dotted the countryside had formed the background of Emily's youth since as long as she could remember. Charles's family originated from the same parish as hers, but the fox spent most of the year in the city, where his father had built his name and fortune from modest beginnings. She would have to follow him after they married, of course. But she instinctively knew she would dearly miss the green meadows full of sweet spring flowers, or the ancient woods that turned the same colour as her fur in autumn.

The dusty smell of fresh hay caressed her nostrils and she heard the creaking of old wheels coming from a side path. A few moments later a cart came into view, piled high with hay and pulled by a big grey stallion. The docile creature patiently endured the shouts and occasional blows of the cart-driver as he pulled the heavy load, but his muscular body shone with sweat and his naked flanks were speckled with dirt. His eyes were covered but weariness was apparent on his features.

"Poor thing," Emily whispered as she and her feline companion stopped and made way for the vehicle. Then something caught her eye. Something long, fleshy and pink that flopped lazily between the horse's legs as he trudged, head bowed.

"Good lord, what is this?" Emily said and cocked her head for a closer look.

"What do you mea... Ohhh, OH!" Henrietta yelped, "Do not look, DO NOT LOOK!" she screeched and flailed her hand to shield the girl's eyes.

"But why... what..." the young vixen stuttered, utterly spooked by the older lady's reaction. The scent of dry hay and horse sweat was now mingled with a different, slightly pungent fragrance that she had never smelled before, although it somewhat reminded her of a whiff she had once caught in the air after her two older brothers had played sports and raced each other all afternoon.

"TURN YOUR HEAD. No discussion," Henrietta ordered, her skin now flushed red under her fur. Emily did as she was told, although a last glimpse showed her that the strange member had grown even larger and stiffer. Its massive tip incongruously reminded her of the business end of a watering can.

"Have you no shame?" she heard the cat scream at the dog who drove the cart.

"He certainly doesn't," the canine laughed, "You'll have to excuse poor old Dale, he hasn't been with a mare in a long time."

"You could at least... cover it or something," Henrietta fumed.

"Hey, you can take care of it if the sight offends you. I'll have a pipe while you and Dale go into these bushes over there. You might even enjoy it."

"YOU... You... The squire will hear about this, I promise."

"Sure, tell him all the juicy details," the dog snickered and drove his cart onwards.

The cat and vixen went home in embarrassed silence. As they walked through the wrought iron gates and down the path that led to the manor Emily opened her mouth.

"Are all males... built like this? Is Charles..."

"Nonsense! Do not compare this sweet gentleman to a lowly brute. And not a word of this to anyone."

Henrietta carefully planned their walk the next day, taking great precautions to avoid the spots where farm laborers worked and scanning the road ahead every few minutes. No further incident marred the rest of the week, much to Emily's regret as the flames of her curiosity had been fanned beyond measure. Was it a coincidence or had the horse behaved this way due to the presence of a member of the female sex? Her father's medical encyclopedia, which she surreptitiously parsed one afternoon in the manor's library, provided some clues. She gathered that the male organ was meant to be coupled with the female anatomy and that different species were shaped differently. Canines like foxes, dogs and wolves were on the smaller side compared to brutes such as horses and bulls although their manhoods had certain other characteristics that no other males had, but the book was frustratingly vague on the specifics and entirely devoid of uncensored pictures.

Charles paid them their customary visit the next Sunday. Emily's father came from old landed gentry, but his annual income was barely sufficient to support his household as well as the ever-increasing upkeep of the crumbling ancestral residence, and it was hoped that an alliance with the young son of an industrialist would save the family from the indignity that loomed over it. None of those present ever so much alluded to such considerations however, and as usual the conversation revolved around various pleasantries and the planning of the upcoming engagement.

Emily's words gave no inkling of her newfound knowledge, but her eyes scrutinized her suitor throughout the afternoon. Like most foxes he was of gracile build, with dark amber eyes, a thin elegant muzzle and a patch of white hair on his neck and lower jaw. As she observed him his slender fingers delicately brought his cup of tea to his handsome lips, and for a moment the thought that he could have anything in common with a coarse beast seemed absurd. Yet there was a faint bulge between his thighs, roughly at the same place where the stallion's member had been. Of course such a large organ could not fit in Charles's tight pantaloons, but there must be something. What did it look like? How would it feel inside her? The weird, fantastical scenes her imagination conjured up made her shiver in fright and anticipation. Waiting until her wedding night to find out seemed like an intolerable prospect. As she nibbled on a biscuit a plan began to take form in her mind. Charles often visited her father's stables, some distance from the house itself, to borrow a horse to ride. If she could just catch a glimpse of him as he changed into his riding-clothes...

Henrietta's absence the next week offered her a chance to put the scheme into action. Hearing that Charles had sent word of his coming, she excused herself after lunch and sneaked out of the house, easily evading the attention of Tom, the stable-hand. The lad was a white-and-grey shepherd mix whose ears perked up whenever he was happy, which was most of the time. He was as honest and loyal as he was unpolished, and Emily's father once commented that the boy must have a wolf or two in his family tree. She hid in an unoccupied stall, from where she would have a good view of the comings and goings through the main door. The air inside the building was warm, and the scent of manure and animal bodies reminded her of what she had seen during that afternoon walk. Her heart began to beat faster and the pads of her hands became moist.

Had she been less nervous, she might have noticed that Tom was also not in his usual mood. The boy walked to and fro, his unruly mane of a tail wagging behind him. "Where is he?" he muttered and cast a look outside, looking half-afraid and half-excited. Eventually his face beamed a wide smile, and a moment later Charles came through the door.

"I was worried you wouldn't come, sir," the dog said as he took the other man's jacket.

"And miss my riding-lesson?" the fox replied and gave Tom a peck on the cheek. The stable-boy giggled and looked away.

"Sir, please, not here... if someone saw us..." he said and made a pretence of tearing himself free.

Charles grinned, "Then let's not waste a second." He cupped the back of the other boy's head and kissed his lips and neck until the shepherd stopped his feeble protests and began to kiss and lick back eagerly.

Emily looked on, increasingly confused by what could not simply be a display of virile friendship. A thousand explanations raced through her brain but the two men's acts left increasingly little to interpretation. They started to caress and grope each other and soon Charles was fumbling with the buckle of his belt. The vixen could not repress a gasp of shock when her future husband's member was finally revealed: a plump, white-furred sheath of loose skin from which a pink nub of lipstick-like flesh protruded. The fox rubbed it against the fabric of Tom's breeches, and as he did so his manhood grew, swelling its sheath until the shepherd reached out a helping hand and freed the now vermillion-colored shaft.

Emily's head spun in shock. Now the dignified, mild-mannered Charles and that stable-boy were in each other's arms, talking sweet nonsense like two lovers. Tom had exposed his own member and was rubbing it vigorously against the fox's. He had it larger and redder than the other canine, and as the two manhoods touched each other they spurted a watery substance that dripped down their lengths and wetted the fur of their bellies. No encyclopedia was needed to understand the effect that this action was having on the two groaning, panting men.

Perhaps it was righteous anger at the increasingly explicit scene unfolding before her eyes, but Emily's ears and cheeks were flushed hot as if with fever, and she began to experience a taut, tingly sensation between her legs. Her heart was racing and her breath fell short. She should have put an end to the criminal act, yet she wanted to see how far the two degraded creatures would allow their bestial lusts to take them, to give Charles one last chance to turn away from the unspeakable deed. "If I could, I would make you my bride," her suitor whispered in Tom's ear, flooding Emily's bosom with a wave of fresh, titillating indignation. Then the fox dropped to his knees, grasped the shepherd's tapered manhood with his hand and after a long, passionate sniff licked its dripping tip and took it in his mouth, that same mouth that had kissed Emily's hand so many times.

The lady felt close to swooning. Her hand instinctively reached out for support and knocked over a broom that was resting against the stall's door. It hit the paved floor with a sonorous whack and the two wretches turned their heads at the same time. Charles gasped and froze, his mouth still connected to the dripping member by a strand of saliva. Emily staggered to her feet, her fur wet with perspiration. "Charles... how could you..." she managed, trembling all over. An unarticulated whimper of fear, issuing from Tom's throat, was the only reply to her utterance, and after a long last look at the indecent scene she tottered unsteadily towards the door, neither man making a move to stop her.

Emily slept little that night, and the impious picture of what she had witnessed haunted her until dawn. A raging fire burned in her soul and body when she thought of her suitor's impious crime, but strangely the prospect of denouncing him gave her no satisfaction. Instead, she could not stop wondering to what outlandish lengths the young gentleman and the servant-boy would have taken their unnatural coupling had they not been interrupted. And how would her poor old father take the horrendous news? All week long she replayed the scene in her mind over and over again, each time growing more, not less, confused about the proper course of action to take.

A heavy heat settled over the country the next Sunday, and the physical discomfort it brought served to disguise the unvoiced tension that hung in the air at tea-time. Charles was visibly apprehensive, and though he soon realised that Emily's father had no suspicion of what had happened on his property he remained tense and tight-lipped until the older man mercifully retired for a nap. Left to their own devices, the future husband and wife sat in awkward silence, each waiting for the other to breach the obvious subject.

"I think some fresh air would do me good," the vixen said and rose from her seat. Charles started after her, as if afraid to leave her alone even for an instant.

They followed a small path that led them past the garden, both of them staring into the distance as they walked. The fox fiddled with the buttons of his collar, opened and closed his mouth and after many false starts finally spoke.

"I will not attempt to convince you that what you saw wasn't exactly what it looked like. All I will say is that you hold both our lives in your hands, and I can only hope that you will find in yourself sufficient mercy to spare us a fate worse than death."

She turned her head to face him but the man's gaze seemed fixated upon the small pebbles of the gravel-path in front of him. His black-tipped ears were flattened against his skull as he waited for the girl to pass her sentence and decide his and his accomplice's fate.

"I am fully conscious of the gravity of the situation, yet I cannot pass judgement without full knowledge of the facts. Tell me, how long have you and Tom been... engaging in such acts? And why?" she asked in a stern tone.

Tears welled up in the fox's eyes and his voice broke a little. "Oh please, if you must have vengeance then let me bear the full weight of it and do not destroy the lad's life. I met him last summer during my previous stay, and from the way he furtively glanced at me as I changed clothes I came to realise that we shared certain... inclinations. But I am the one who seduced him and led his innocent soul down that wicked path."

"Inclinations, you say? I do not understand."

"Ah," Charles exclaimed and covered his face with his hands, "We are called the stronger sex but all men are prey to lustful needs, even though the more refined among us hide them behind a mask of civility. I am doubly cursed by the fact that my carnal desires are of a nature that law, opinion and religion all harshly condemn. My father has long had his doubts, and he insisted on this marriage to protect his reputation and mine."

"Well, it seems that both our families have an interest other than pure love in this alliance. Still, if I am to marry you I must get to the bottom of this mystery," Emily said and raised a thin eyebrow, "And for this I am afraid I will need a less... theoretical lesson."

Before Charles could respond she grabbed him by the wrist and half-led, half-dragged him towards an old pigeon-cot that stood near the path. Inside she hushed the hapless fox against the decaying wall and began to unfasten his pants.

"Emily, what is the meaning of this?" he stammered.

She did not deign to give him an answer, focused as she was on her work. At last his pants and undergarments were down to his ankles and his naked crotch was exposed to the girl's sight.

"So this is it," the girl said as she examined the man's intimate parts, "It is certainly more modest than Dale's, but much more pleasing to the eye."

"Who's Dale?" Charles blurted out.

"Nevermind. What are these things?" she asked and shyly tickled the fox's furry sack with a well-trimmed claw.

"Ah!" Charles gasped, "These organs are what lend the virile member its... vigor and essence. They are quite sensitive."

"I see," she said. She grew bolder and pinched the fox's sheath, peeling back the skin and exposing a thin, unerect penis, "Now let's make it grow big," she added, her breath short.

"This is going too far, someone could come looking for us."

"Well, being caught with a girl could only improve your predicament, don't you think?"

Charles yielded without undue protest to Emily's superior reasoning, but despite much clumsy stroking his manhood remained soft and limp.

"What am I doing wrong?" she frowned.

"Please do not take offense," Charles replied, alarmed by the vixen's tone, "The fault is all mine. You are a very fair lady, but I am afraid I require a certain mood and stimulation that the present circumstances do not afford."

"You mean a man's touch?"

He nodded almost imperceptibly, swallowing a knot in his throat. His eyes grew moist again.

She got up to her feet. "In other words you would have me as a wife in letter but not in spirit." She exhaled audibly and looked her trembling suitor over from the black tip of his nose to his thin but well-toned calves. Then she drew closer and with her thumb wiped a tear from the corner of his eye. "Fear not, I am still puzzled by these unusual tastes of yours but I am not so cruel as to condemn you for a crime that, as far as I can tell, injures no one. Furthermore, I do not wish to hurt my family by canceling our marriage. But there will be a price for my discretion."

"Name it," Charles sighed, the veil of anguish lifting from his handsome face.

"Meet me tomorrow at the barn. Same hour, and bring Tom with you."

With that she turned away and went back to the manor, leaving Charles to pull up his pants and follow her with what little decorum he had left.

The lady was on time the next day, but the two males had preceded her and were waiting in the hay-loft. Both looked anxious, Tom especially so. Unlike Charles the poor lad had neither money nor relations to protect him, and he stared at his feet when Emily came.

"Ma'am, I am so sorry..." he began.

"Pshaw!" she interrupted, "You did not seem sorry at all the other day. But now you'll have a chance to make up for your deceit. Strip, both of you."

Two pairs of ears perked up in surprise. "You cannot be serious," Charles finally said.

"Quite the opposite. Just pretend I'm not there."

The two men exchanged a look and began to remove their clothes until they were down to their underwear: drawers and ankle-socks for Charles, nothing but a long undershirt for Tom. The latter was clean but worn and slightly too short for the dog, and he had to tuck it to shield his private parts from view.

"These have to go too."

"This is very embarrassing."

"More embarrassing than having to explain to my father why you won't be consummating the marriage?"

She took some time to compare the two men. Both were shaped similarly, with a furry, fleshy sheath and a sack. Charles's was cute and fluffy whereas Tom's was dark-skinned and heavier-looking. She wondered how men did not go mad with such cumbersome things hanging between their legs all day long.

"The scriptures speak of men who lie with men as with women. I never understood what it meant but now I think I do, and I would like you to show me," she said, blushing and averting her eyes.

"That's enough!" Charles exclaimed, "Your conduct is far more shameful than mine could ever be. I will not be gawked at like some carnival beast."

He took a step towards his piled clothes but Tom laid his hand on his arm.

"To the devil with it, sir. I don't think the miss meant any harm, and even if she did it may be our last chance to be with each other."

He wrapped his arms around the other man's waist, drew him closer and pressed his lips against his. Charles stiffened and let out an indignant "Mmph!" but soon closed his eyes and yielded to the boy's soft tongue. Their kisses and caresses grew passionate and two slick canine members pushed out of the dark openings at the tip of their sheaths.

Emily held her breath, afraid that the slightest noise would remind the lovers of her presence. When the two men lay together in the hay she drew closer and admired their male attributes, red and dripping, tapered at the end and with a thick bulb at the base. Her curiosity only grew more fierce, and moments later she was close enough to smell the veiny, glistening skin. Tom and Charles pretended not to notice her as she began to caress the fur of their thighs, but the fox let out a small yelp when a venturing finger unexpectedly touched his manly bits. The vixen drew back, worried she had caused pain, until the two males rolled slightly on their backs to give her better access to their bodies. Heart beating, she touched their members, took them in her hands and finally rubbed them together. Her hands were soft but inexperienced, and the two had to assist her but eventually Charles's leg began to twitch and seconds later something wet spurted from his tip. She let go of his manhood, spooked by the warm stickiness that smeared her fingers, but the man whimpered softly as more of it came out until his tip ran dry. Eager to finish, Tom took hold of his member and after some vigorous stroking sent three jets of his own essence onto Charles's manhood. Afterwards both men lay breathing audibly, their eyes interlocked, until their gazes turned to the lady at their side.

"Is this what you do when the two of you are together?" she asked, nervously wiping her hand on the hay.

They both nodded. Now that the glow was fading a slight glimmer of anxiety was returning to their eyes. But there was no anger or repulsion on the vixen's face.

"This isn't how you'd... do it with a girl, is it?"

They remained silent, as if unsure how to tackle the question. "Not exactly, but there are other... realms we haven't explored yet," Charles said, caressing the base of the other male's tail.

"And could you do it with me, if you pretended I were a boy?" she added, seating herself next to her suitor.

His nose dropped down slightly. "This, I cannot promise."

She beheld the two naked males. Their sated manhoods were slowly shrinking and retracting into their bodies. Tom's arm was wrapped around Charles's shoulders, his fingers playing with the fox's fur. He finally noticed Emily's gaze and stopped. His lips moved as if to utter an apology but his breath escaped in a disturbed sigh instead of a sentence.

"Well," she said, somewhat sulkily, "I am afraid this will not do."

"I wish I could give you a different answer, but..." Charles started, his voice growing more alarmed as the girl got up to her feet and slapped off the dust and hay from her robes.

"No 'buts'. I do not intend to live like a nun for the rest of my days, my only purpose to provide cover to my husband."

"This isn't what..."

"Shhh! I will hear no excuses. A whole world of new prospects has just opened up before me and I will explore it, even if I have to drag you along by the tail. If you cannot perform your marital duties adequately, then Tom will help us."

Both men started visibly. Tom looked in turns at Charles and at Emily, as if afraid he was the victim of some mocking jest.

"Well, this is hardly appropriate," the fox stammered with the face of someone whose pride had just been trampled upon. "What makes you think he should be better able to perform? And even if he did, what if you became with child? No offense to him but the father would be obvious and we'd all be..."

Emily simply smiled for a while, seemingly content to let the fox stew in his indignation.

"You misunderstand me. I meant that, if the touch of a female isn't enough to stir you, Tom will assist by providing stimulation of a more virile kind. Surely the three of us should be able to achieve something? And if worst comes to worst, perhaps indeed the lad will not prove insensitive to feminine attributes. A little competition is a healthy thing, as your own father says."

The servant shifted uncomfortably in place as his future role as a stud was expounded in excruciating detail. Emily belatedly noticed his embarrassment and felt a tinge of guilt at her own words.

"That is, if you would like to come to the city with us of course," she said and gently touched his shoulder, "We'll definitely be in need of domestic help, and I would love to retain a familiar face with me."

The shepherd raised his eyes and looked at his employer's daughter and at the young master in turn. Then his ears perked up and he returned the lady's smile.

"Why, I'd be delighted to serve you!"

He laid his tail on Charles's and gave the still peevish fox a wink.

"And I do mean both of you."
