Well chapter 3 is finally here! Sorry this took so long but the holiday season had me a little occupied. This one is a decent length, and the next part will reveal what Deren's question is. I'm gonna be getting to the major sex scene probably in chapter 4, so be patient. ~.=.^ Hope you all enjoy!

"Hey dear, you still with me?" said Deren, concerned over Takar's long silence. Takar blinked a few times, clearing the shroud of the past that immersed him.

"Sorry hun, was just recalling a few things that happened a while ago." replied Takar, shifting his gaze to meet Deren's. They locked eyes again, Deren had a serious expression.

"Thinking of what Jonathan did to you?" asked the older dragon, worried about his lover.

"No dear I'm fine, don't worry about me." said Takar hastily, shifting his eyes around the room. "Look, here comes our waiter."

They both straightened their posture as the fox arrived at their table, holding a flat plate with a bottle of wine, two empty glasses, and two glasses of water. He set the plate on the center of the table and set two glasses down in front of each dragon. It took him a few moments to uncork the bottle with the metal screw he brought, slowly letting the cork slide from the tip, not wanting it to fly across the room. He let the rich aroma waft out of the bottle before picking it up and pouring a small amount into both glasses.

"There you go gentlemen, I shall be right back and then I will be ready to take your orders." smiled the waiter, walking off hurriedly to where he was needed. Both the dragons eyed the wine, the smell intoxicating.

"Shall we dear?" asked Deren, motioning for a toast, smiling at his boyfriend widely. Takar blushed and picked up his glass, putting it to Deren's.

"To us, for this is a special night." said Deren, clanging his glass lightly against the younger dragon's.

"I'd like to hear your question after we get done eating if that's okay with you love." stated Takar, wanting to get the meal out of the way first before they discussed anything serious.

"Oh I agree with you there hun, I'm quite famished myself." churred Deren, wanting his dragon to be completely ready for what he was going to ask.

They both took a long sip of the rich-tasting wine, the smell overwhelming their senses. The wine had a fruity flavor to it, something very indulgent and hedonistic. They both gulped down the rest in their glasses, eyeing the mostly full bottle after they were done.

"I had read reviews about how good it was, didn't think it was this damn delicious." stated Deren, licking his lips clean of the decadent liquid. Takar reached for the bottle to pour himself another glass, making Deren grin.

"Careful love, don't drink too much." he said, rubbing his tail once more along Takar's. The smaller dragon giggled girlishly and topped off Deren's glass before doing the same to his own. Takar had a thing for exotic wines; it loosened him up and allowed him to enjoy certain sensations more. He developed a slight drinking problem after a particularly heart-shattering incident caused by Jonathan. After he met Deren he tried to hide his addiction as best he could, though the other dragon quickly wisened up after he found several empty wine bottles at Takar's apartment one time when he went to spend a weekend there. It was not easy for the younger dragon to take alcohol in moderation, but after a few months he was able to decline the offer of more than a couple drinks on his own. The alcohol helped him relax in the months after what the wolf did to him. It calmed his mind and granted him reprieve from stress. It definitely helped when Jonathan came across his mind sometimes. Some memories just never fade.

Takar was not familiar with the scent that his nostrils picked up, it was mixed pheromones. One was definitely Jonathan's, but the other was completely foreign to him. The first thought that crossed his mind was that maybe Jonathan had lit candles of some scent he had never heard of before. He quietly shut the door with his tail, leaving it cracked slightly. He eyed around the room for any sign of Jonathan, wondering where his wolf was.

"Maybe he's sleeping," thought Takar to himself. He moved slowly through the living room, accidentally toppling a small stack of magazines on the floor. It made very little noise, however there was a note lying on the floor that caught his attention. He crouched low and picked it up, scanning over a descending list of numbers. Each number had two capital letters next to it, about ten numbers in all. To the dragon this seemed like nothing more than a list of friends and associates; however he wondered why Jonathan didn't just keep these numbers in the contact list of his cell-phone. He gave the list one last look over before placing it back on the floor where the magazines had fallen. Jonathan's apartment was rather large, but most of that room was taken up by junk, movies, and magazines. The whole area was very cluttered, especially at its worst in the living room. Takar shook his head; he was going to have a word with Jonathan about his living conditions. Takar stood in the middle of the living room, looking towards the bedroom door. He heard a loud groan that startled him, causing him to be almost certain that the wolf was still in bed. He walked closer, hearing an increasingly louder squeaking noise. The mixed scents were coming from the bedroom. He noticed that the door was cracked, placing his hand on it. He heard another loud groan, this one accompanied by low moan right after it. The dragon was suddenly afraid to open the door; already anticipating was he might see. He swallowed hard and nudged the door open slightly, his eyes immediately widening from the sight he beheld.

On the bed was Jonathan, completely naked and leaning over an orca. His hips were smacking powerfully against the bent over recipient's rear, plunging his knotted member in and out of the tight tailhole. They were both sweating heavily and gasping, as if they had been going at it for a while. They were so involved in the throes of pleasure that they didn't notice Takar standing in the doorway, jaw agape. The dragon's eyes welled up with tears, still trying not to believe what his eyes were seeing. His grip on the small bag slackened, causing it to hit the carpeted floor with a small thud. Jonathan's ears twitched, turning his head quickly to see the dragon in his doorway. They stared blankly at each other, the orca looking back to see what was happening. Jonathan pulled himself out his partner's rear slowly, his gaze never leaving Takar's. A deadly silence engulfed the room for several long moments.

Takar felt weightless, his mind clouded by despair and disbelief. He was not holding back the flood of tears well, little droplets streaming from his eyes. His heart was beating like a jackhammer, thumping audibly in his chest. He was shivering hard, body twitching randomly. His heart was slowly tearing itself in two at this terrible betrayal. His emotions were welling up inside like an overflowing lake, nearly unable to hold in what he was feeling. Jonathan had an unsurprised look on his face, eerily calm and complacent. He showed no emotion, surprising for someone who was just caught cheating on their significant other. The orca quietly got off the bed and walked into the bathroom, closing the door and locking it. The bedroom was still eerily calm, its two remaining occupants staring each other down.

"Why...would you possibly do this to me?" asked Takar, gulping hard and gasping a bit. It took all his courage to speak, and it didn't make him feel any better. The wolf closed his eyes and took in the question, lying back in a reclined position against a few pillows. He looked back up to Takar after a few seconds.

"You weren't supposed to be here until 8 PM, I told you that specifically." said the wolf in a cold tone. He crossed his legs and cracked his neck, still seeming very uncaring to the dragon's emotions. Takar was taken aback by his words, shocked even more that the person he had wanted to lose his virginity to was acting so heartless after being caught in this situation.

"I came early to...surprise you! I wanted to have a lovely evening with you...wanted everything to be perfect!" said the dragon, tears streaming down his eyes. He gritted his teeth in a mixture of anger, confusion, and sadness. He crossed his arms in an attempt to keep them from shaking, his tail swaying nervously while he searched his mind for more words to say.

Jonathan seemed unmoved by Takar's words, exhaling a long sigh in discomfort as his current predicament. Jonathan shifted on the bed so that he was lying on his side, using a blanket to cover his lower half. He shifted his eyes around the room for several seconds before fixing his gaze squarely on Takar.

"I think it's time I come clean with you." stated Jonathan, some concern now permeating his voice. He leaned over and picked his boxers up, slipping them on under the covers. He stood up and motioned for Takar to go into the living room, approaching slowly behind him.

Takar sat on the smooth leather couch, still shaking uncontrollably. Jonathan sat in a green chair positioned right across from the dragon. They both stared down at the ground for a while, Takar quietly whimpering. The wolf rubbed the back of his neck, ruffling his fur up a bit.

"This is something I should have said from the beginning." said Jonathan. He propped his feet up on the small glass coffee table between them, tracing his claws along the fur on his abs. "How do I put this...I have trouble loving anyone. It's been a problem I've had ever since I was in my teen years."

"Then why fucking drag me along like this for as long as you did?" screamed out Takar, anger welling up inside of him. The powerful outburst caught the wolf off guard, causing his eyes to widen slightly in surprise. Jonathan waited until the dragon regained some of his composure, then spoke again.

"I really tried my hardest for you, I was actually happy with you a few times. It's a psychological problem I have. I grew up in an abusive family, where physical expressions of love were rarely witnessed. The hell I went through has followed me all my life; I never meant to drag you into it." Jonathan gazed at the sullen dragon, sadness in his eyes. Takar looked into his eyes, wondering why the wolf never told him this before.

"Why did you keep this from me? If you had told me I would have tried to work past it with you. And why were you fucking someone else?" asked the dragon, now curious but still rather enraged.

Jonathan let out a long sigh. "Because I'm what you'd call a slut. When I started my own life I took anyone I could who wanted to be with me, even if I already had someone in my life. You can hate me for it; I already hate myself for it. This uncontrollable part of me has fucked up so many of my relationships. When I met you, and saw how innocent you were, I thought I could better control it with you around." The wolf seemed to be getting more emotional, ashamed of himself for letting things go so far. He rubbed his head several times, not looking up at Takar.

The dragon was shocked; he had never expected that he would hear any of this from his boyfriend. Whenever they would have conversations about their childhoods Jonathan would always change the subject to something he was more comfortable with. But this flood of information shed new light onto Jonathan's personality, even if it didn't help the dragon to feel any better.

"I can't believe I was going to take your virginity tonight, you deserve to lose it to someone who loves you. I thought I could be the person to make you happy Takar, but with all my problems I really can't corrupt someone like you." said the wolf as he got up and moved over to the couch that Takar was on, sitting next to him. The dragon shuddered uncomfortably, the scales around his eyes slick with tears. Jonathan did the unexpected, wrapping his arms around Takar and holding him tight. The dragon buried his face into the wolf's shoulder, letting the tears flow unlevied. Takar felt comforted and alienated all at once, but still kept the embrace, as it was the only thing he had right then. They stayed there, locked together for several minutes before both went back to sitting apart. They stared at each other for a few seconds before Takar spoke.

"So what now, where do we go from here?" The dragon leaned back, curling his tail in his lap and tapping his claws on the couch. Jonathan took in the question, thinking it over before he spoke.

"Well, I still want you in my life; however we cannot be in a romantic relationship. Maybe we should stay good friends?" proposed Jonathan, folding his hands together. There was a lengthy silence between the two. They both heard the TV switch on in Jonathan's bedroom, the other occupant holding out in there until the problem was ironed out. It was a painful reminder to what Takar had just walked in on.

"Babe, hello?" said Deren as he snapped his claws near the other dragon, lost in the details of his past. The sound and motion made Takar lose his trance, refocusing his eyes on Deren.

"I know that expression, you were thinking about that night you made that discovery about him." stated Deren bluntly, his tone laced with concern. Takar looked away and nodded, feeling ashamed to be recalling such memories on such a lovely night. He swallowed hard, and then nearly gasped as Deren reached across and ran his hand over Takar's muzzle. The hand caressed over the smooth scales, moving to his jowls then down his neck. Takar leaned into it; the touch was soothing and warm. It made him feel comforted, wanted, and understood.

"I love you and I'm not afraid to show it. You're my lovely dragon." cooed Deren, enjoying the feel of his love's scales. He did not appreciate the emotional trauma that Jonathan put the young dragon through, however he was thankful that the wolf cared enough to not cause any more harm to him. Things had been tough when Takar was drinking, but Deren persevered and stuck by him. He felt like a guardian to the other dragon, even though he had romantic interests in mind. Deren loved the naiveté that Takar had about the world, an innocence that was rare to come by in this age of indulgence.

Takar blushed deeply, enjoying the warmth from Deren's hand. He didn't care what anyone else thought about the display of affection, if anyone around them was even looking. He purred and flicked his pink tongue over the fingers delicately, causing an audible "Murr" from Deren. They both slowly leaned their heads in over the table, eyes locked. Time seemed to slow down for both of them, the wine kicking in. They had kissed many times before, but tonight was under more special circumstances. Their lips brushed, both taking in the other's scent. Deren pressed his lips fully to Takar's, eliciting a light gasp from the younger dragon. They both pressed into it, their tongues meeting and coiling together. Takar shivered as he felt Deren's tail rub the underside of his, the attention making him melt. Deren growled and nipped at Takar's lips affectionately, both oblivious to their surroundings.

The sound of someone clearing their throat broke the trance the two dragons were in. They looked to the side and saw their waiter standing there, ready to receive their orders.

"Ahem, what will you have tonight gentlemen?" said the fox with a sly expression on his face.

Both Takar and Deren blushed brightly, having also completely forgotten what they wanted to order.

"Ummm...may we please have a menu for a second?" said Deren, placing his paw over Takar's comfortingly.
