Black Dragon Isekai

Chapter Two

"This feels... familiar..."

Ash awoke from his slumber, gazing upon himself as he looked upon his own black scales that were covered by an essence that was neither material nor immaterial. The dragon was confused by the surroundings he was within. His mind tried to recall what might clue him in on where he was, only to come up short. Ash would take a stand and move through the essence that swirled and twisted within the area he was in.

"Is this... the Astral Plane? Strange, I can hear the magic, feel the current. This is magic, and everything that I remember. But why am I here? I did not conjure myself...was I summoned?" A soft question escaped past maw, wonderous like the young man he used to be. All the curiosity, all of what he used to be started to emerge from himself, a side he deeply repressed in the wake of everything that came to him. "Mystra, this astral plane... if it is what I believe it to be, then at least it will be different and familiar at the same time." Ash whispered quietly under breath, allowing some calmness settle across his being, before he continued to take a step forward.

It was endless and never-ending, but Ash pressed forward through it until he noticed two figures in the distance... both familiar to him. One was black scaled, horned like he was, and the other... was golden, large, and also familiar. He could hear the mewling moans of the female, gasping in sexual release and the snarls of the male, growling and pressing his dominance. Ash approached those creatures slowly while keeping eye contact between each one, wondering why he was here.

"What is happening?"

The young dragon soon aroused himself from his sleepish state, gazing towards the figures that stood before him. He could make out their bodies and the forms they possessed as the dragon approached them, moving over to their side and looked towards their features. Their horns, scales, and bodies were familiar to him... their auras radiating a power that could almost be recognized. As he gazed upon the two, Ash would soon make his approach, which he would begin catching a scent that made him immediately submit and stand in instinctual arousal at the same moment. Both scents were pure, potent, and powerful. Ash could feel the aura they emitted was familiar and unique. The essence that radiated from them was warm and comforting, but it was also powerful and mighty.

Before the dragon knew it... he would look down and feel that his cock was fully erect. Precum had already started to drool out of his member, his shaft was throbbing wildly in reaction to the auras he was receiving. The dragon would whine in arousal, but did not dare interfere with the two. His instincts and his mind told him to submit as the golden dragon and the black dragon were too powerful to dominate and were too friendly to approach.

"There's the dragon your broodmother summoned..." The radiant black dragon spoke. His voice made Ash crouch from the power this dragon spoke, an indication of its dominance over the younger dragon. He could see the glowing golden eyes turning upon him as the black dragon thrust into the dragoness. His gaze upon Ash was both terrifying and arousing as he continued to gaze into the young dragon's own golden eyes.

The black dragon would grunt, growling possessively while looking back down to the golden dragoness he was impaling deeply with his shaft. "Mystra really did outdo herself this time..." He remarked with a growling voice. His power radiated as his thrusts into the dragoness' snatch increased in potency and force.

"Mystra?" Ash thought to himself curiously.

The golden dragoness would moan, crying out in sexual release as her snatch quivered around the radiant black dragon's length. Her golden body began to glow brighter and more radiant the moment she orgasmed and released a burst of power, before the radiant black male thrust deep inside the female and roared deeply. This roar would make Ash shudder and he would feel himself desiring to breed... while his mind bade him to dominate. He could not explain why his body and mind were making him think this, but each side of his body commanded him to do so.

"Ah yes... the goddess of fertility... your brood mother." The black dragon hissed, pulling away from the dragoness' slit. Ash would gaze upon the golden dragoness, watching her turn back and smile lovingly at him. "What, did you forget what your mates told you already or are you wanting to fuck so badly?" The black dragon cackled.

Ash would growl in frustration to his senses, looking towards the radiant black dragon curiously before gazing to the dragoness. His broodmother? He tilted his head and replied, "But... I have no other mother," he spoke.

"Ignis..." The Golden dragoness cooed to the radiant black dragon named Ignis. "He is new... let him be..." She moaned, her eyes opened to reveal pure golden pupils as the dragoness looked at Ash.

"Hmmph, very well Mystra," Ignis grumbled, pulling himself away and would walk towards Ash, making the younger dragon look like a hatchling as the dragon as the beast approached. Ash could smell the powerful and pungent scent that the dragon emitted, causing the younger black dragon to grunt in submission as his senses were dominated by its mere aura. However, the instincts inside Ash's body made him stand, forcing him to look at the male as their combined musks' clouded the area around them...

All while the golden dragoness nearby lay on her side, her golden body smeared by cum that flowed out of her golden and radiant slit and on her body. Ash could sense Mystra, the golden dragoness here, was dominated by the black dragon in front of him... going by the name of Ignis. He did not know why he was here, or how he came to this place in particular. Ash merely looked upon the dragon known as Ignis, who looked over the young dragon and chuckled. The massive dragon was at least five stories high, whilst Ash guessed himself no larger than half of a story in height from the angle of the dragons massive frame.

Ignis gazed towards Ash and growled, "So... your broodmother Mystra tells me that you are the one she brought... Ash is it?" He asked, tilting his head to the young dragon. Ash would nod, staying absolutely silent and soon approaching Ignis. However, the moment the black dragon took one step towards Ignis; the larger dragon snarled in a domineering manner. This caused Ash to pause and step back from his approach, before the larger dragon continued. "Yes, it is clear you are hers..." Ignis would remark, gazing towards Ash in amusement. However, in that moment, the dragon's body lowered to look directly at Ash, staring directly at him.

"But your presence, your musk, your very appearance... has been made in my image."

Ash would tilt his head and remark, "Why?" He asked, his eyes wonderous and inquisitive as his mind worked. "Who are you?" He asked, knowing Mystra, but not this Ignis who controlled the situation in the palm of his paws.

Ignis would chuckle, nodding his head, "Yes, who, what, when, where... why..." he repeated the question in a manner of musing. Soon, his head would lean down towards Ash's own snout and growled, "I am Ignis, The Dominator, God King of the Dragon Pantheon of Mystra, Aeros, and others under me, Dragon Gods of my domain." He would proclaim, causing Ash to flinch backwards from the shock of the moment.

"Dragon Gods, I had an inkling... but now... this is... far too out of control..." Ash thought, looking to the large dragon god in horror.

" And now to why you were brought here. The answer to that is the easiest of two reasons: She did this to draw my attention and curry favor in my Pantheon. The other is simplest: You mate's mentioned this to you, and it is the only solution to their problems to the whole of the species," Ignis continued, leaving room for Ash to guess.

"To save dragonkind?" Ash would ask, taking the experience from his past life into account for helping guide him through this question.

Ignis would snort, chuckling deeply and nodded his head. "You could say that, mortal," he growled, "Dragons, Drakes, and lesser species alike are being hunted, wiped out. No doubt you may know what might be the cause of it." Ignis spoke, gazing towards Ash intently.

Ash, within the realm of the Astral Sea, where thought, soul, and body were one; the answer was made clear to the dragon within. And in this revelation, the dragons' eyes widened in realization, recalling his past memories of humans and the wiping out of dragons, drakes, and more. His mind would then focus and answer, "Humans," Ash remarked, knowing fully well that the humanoids of the world would be the ones hunting his kind. Ignis would nod, growling contently towards Ash and stood straight, beginning to circle him with amusement.

"Yes, Humans... I find it fascinating that humans, former and current, know they are the cause of many an atrocity. They know full well that they are responsible. Dragons like myself, Drakes like your own mates, Orcs, Elves, Minotaurs, Fae... the list goes on." Ignis would remark, growling as he did. Ash felt weak. He understood the general causalities, but the massive air of musk started to make him dizzy. With such a massive dragon before him, all he could do was listen. "Your history shows us just enough about humans and how they handle creatures that are not them... or even... different, even among their own kind."

"Even now, your previous world suffered from such atrocities from humanoids. They destroyed, raped, and pillaged from those that were not like themselves. Ironic how this has continued, even unto your kind, mortal, from both idealism and belief..." Ignis remarked, circling Ash.

Ash would lower his head in shame. He knew humans were at fault for all this destruction and hate for the creatures and races that exist. "Yes, Ignis... I know..." Ash spoke, bowing his head in shame to the radiant black dragon before him. To see such actions from an innocent, a victim of humanities own treachery...

Ignis would see this and sigh. "Oh Ash, the shame is not yours, but humanity itself has threatened dragonkind and its very existence," he remarked. The radiant black dragon would soon begin shrinking in size, eventually going into the same height as Ash. Soon, Ignis would approach Ash and growled softly, "It is why Mystra brought you here, for the survival of our species... even doing so to take actions beyond her station." He spoke, nuzzling against Ash like a parent. However, as Ignis stared directly into Ash-Ash would almost widen his eyes as the dragon before him was so similar that he almost assumed he was staring at a direct mirror.

"Mystra really did make me in your image," Ash commented. Ignis would chuckle, nodding his head.

"Indeed Ash, you carry the bloodline of hers. One that can breed our race to vast numbers and ensure our species survival through breeding," Ignis growled contently, soon pulling back from Ash and gazed towards him. "It is why she brought you to this world, why she blessed you with her power, and why you have two drakes you have impregnated with your seed," Ignis explained. Ash would tilt his head, looking at him and growled questionably.

"It will not be long until your eggs hatch... and you will be met with many challenges. Both from us... and them." Ignis remarked, humming deeply. However, the dragon would gaze towards Ash and nodded, "You, however, carry a gift Mystra had given you... and so you will carry one from mine." Ignis would rumble deeply.

Ash would look towards Ignis and speak, "What gift might you give me?" Ash asked, hissing softly towards the radiant black dragon. "

"I offer you a blessing... my dominating blessing, mortal. You have the desire to breed, the lust to fuck, and the instincts to take all females before you... but I give you a power beyond the pleasures of the body..." Ignis growled, roaring deeply towards Ash and released a burst of energy towards Ash's body.

Ash would scream, crying out in pain as he felt his scales and body surge with power. He could feel the power of the black dragon god course through his veins and the very core of his essence. Ash would cry out in pain, thrashing and roaring deeply in agony before falling down, trying so hard to will himself to stand. However, Ash would feel his senses and power increase tenfold, gazing towards Ignis and hissed in a domineering manner himself, but winced from the throbbing pain that pulsated within his very core.

The dragon winced in the face of overwhelming pain, slowly dissipating with every moment. Within those moments, Ash felt something within him awaken... There was something more inside... a pulse that beat steadily deeper than any physical ache there ever existed within. He felt a hot warmth swelling within his scales, a fire that burned in his heart where none existed before. Within himself, there was a strength that rivaled legions, power that stood beyond his understanding... and a possession that looked deep within himself. It stirred restlessly just beneath surface, waiting eagerly below the waves ready to break forth once again when needed most…

"Ignis... what did you do to me...?" Ash panted.

"Simple, while you had the body of our kind, you did not possess the essence of one. Instinct and desire can only carry you so much before the essence of yourself is revealed." Ignis spoke, content in his booming voice. "Now you bear the essence of dragonkind... reborn and renewed. Arise, son of Dragons... ascend," Ignis snarled, raising his head high into the Astral Sea with might and radiance.

Ash would slowly stand, feeling the power within surge and cause his body to shake in the sudden depths of himself. At that very moment, he would look to the stars, peering into the Astral Plane. With a sight like no other, Ash peered into the heart of many realms, seeing other worlds, gods, pantheons, planes, beings, creatures, and everything that could ever possibly exist. Within all this, Ash would roar in power, unleashing a burst of power from his very maw.

"This blessing, Ash, is the essence of our kin. To know our power, is to know the stars. Remember this, as your broodmother sought you from the coils of your origins." Ignis implied contently.

Ash would continue to look to the stars, the power within gave him the power to see. But, the dragon did not reply to the dragon god, before his face started to sour in worry. It was as if the dragons words had not reached his ears, until the young dragon turned his attention to Ignis, and spoke.

"Where is the realm of my home? I cannot see it." The young dragon asked of Ignis, his face displaying worry of a greater meaning than that of a man concerned about his home.

"Ah... that answer... is a hard one." Ignis replied, closing his eyes and taking a great sigh. Ash could see that the ruthless and domineering dragon showing hesitation in answering him. From Ash's power, he could see the god taking the moment to think on a way to properly answer him... or contemplate the next action.

Not long after that hesitation, Ignis spoke.

"It is because there is no God there to have a firm presence within this realm. Gods can only sense these realms, and there are many without them."

Ash would frown, sighing deeply as he did. His mind would work, before looking back to Ignis and speak. "What happened? Is there a god or... something else? Something that was there all along?" He asked, peering to the god of domination to provide the answer.

"I... there was." Ignis replied, a single response that had shattered the dragons resolve. All of the memories of his home washed through his mind, all the wars, the suffering, all of it that was faced by humanity there... it was mentally shattering....

Until Ignis continued.

"Whatever your humanity believed in, they killed it. There are traces, but it is too far gone for me to understand without abandoning my status here." Ignis explained, shaking his massive head. "It also explains why it was easy for Mystra to take you. She gave you her blessing as a means to bring you into a new life, and I ensure you carry on the essence of our kind. With this blessing, the power of our kin will serve you well." Ignis would say, before Ash started to recover from his initial shock.

"Who knows, mortal... perhaps one day, you may earn the power to rise above all." Ignis remarked, snorting softly. "For now, rest. When you awake, return to your drakes. It will not be long until those eggs hatch." Ignis replied. With that, Ash would nod towards Ignis in response to the god's commands.

Ignis would then raise his massive head to the heavens once more and roar. Before Ash's eyes, the large dragon god started to fade...

Ash would look around the Astral Sea, sighing softly as he saw Ignis and Mystra fade, before his vision started to blur and his mind felt heavy.

"Rest well Ash. Your brood needs you now..."The voice of Mystra would speak as her figure was fading into the astral sea. Ash would sigh softly, his mind was growing heavier until the dragon closed his eyes…

The cracking noise of the eggs was the first sounds that reached his ears, causing his eyes to flutter open. He had seen the beauty of the cosmos and felt the essence of the gods... but this... this was not a dream. Ash would slowly stir awake, the scent of the drakes and the eggs nearby caught his senses, before his eyes opened completely and helped him drink in the sight of the situation. His golden eyes would peer towards the glowing eggs and he would focus. He could feel an essence from them, the lifeforce that radiated from within the shells, causing the young dragon to shake his head in confusion at the direct understanding of what was happening, and grunt in happiness before taking a stand.

There were more senses that were there that he didn't understand as he stood up, especially the ones he couldn't quite pinpoint. But, it was not his concern as his instincts drove him forward, making the dragon growl happily at the sight of his drakes. Kyr and Isha were beside the nests, gazing lovingly upon the eggs, before noticing their master standing upright and approaching.

Ash would look to the two drakes and purred lovingly. The drakes were so beautiful, their scales were smooth, their bodies becoming thiccer, and their snouts were so boopable. However, they would gaze towards Ash and smile, nuzzling him lovingly and purring against his bulk the moment he was close. Kyr would rub her muzzle against his cheek, while Isha would lay against his flank and coo happily.

In the midst of the crackling sounds coming from the eggs, little needed to be said as Ash looked down upon the nests and growled happily. Each egg had a slight glow emanating from the shell, each one flickering and brightening as life ebbed from their casings. With each determined nudge, the eggshell cracked further, a symphony of tiny fractures singing of the life within. A few seconds later, Ash heard another subtle creak come forth as yet again-another egg in a different nest began its slow journey toward hatching.

Ash could feel a strong, primal urge swell within his breast. It was cold and warm at the same time, swelling deep in his crest and flowing through his body, resonating more and more as tiny cracks appeared on the first egg's surface. With each passing moment, the cracks grew on the first, branching out in a complex network.

Suddenly, with a soft sound... a small, delicate snout poked through the shell. It belonged to the snout of a small black dragon. The hatchling was small, with a slim body and tiny wings. As the dragonling's head emerged, it took a breath of fresh air and shook off bits of eggshell. The youngling soon blinked, staring up at the world... its eyes glowing of an essence pure and whole.

The first thing that caught its eyes was Ash alone...

And then the hatchling squeaked.

No feeling could express the emotions that swelled within the dragon standing there. To see an accomplishment of life, whether man, beast, or dragon... the emotions were the same. His heart swelled at the sight of the hatchling, his blood turning to ice in his veins as he stood there. Everything that expressed the measure of the man within the dragon drew him forward.

With the press of his snout, Ash nuzzled his firstborn son.

And the hatchling squealed again, soon pressing its snout against Ash's with what strength was in a little one such as the hatchling.

Ash would pull back, seeing the hatchling nuzzle back in its own affectionate manner. The hatchling's eyes gazed into his own, before squeaking a little softly, innocently looking up to him. Ash's eyes began to water, gazing upon the hatchling with such love and adoration. His snout lowered to nuzzle the hatchling, only for it to pull away, causing the father to pause and gaze at the hatchling questioningly.

Then the hatchling did something Ash had not expected: It licked his nose.

Ash chuckled, nuzzling his son lovingly and sighed deeply,, his eyes showing happiness as he saw the hatchling nuzzle back in return. In the midst of this, Ash would hear a second egg cracking and see another dragon hatching. This one was a gold, and Ash's eyes would gaze towards the female hatchling as it squeaked, struggling to emerge from her shell. With care, Ash's instincts would begin to kick in, and he would move over to the hatchling and begin using his maw to nip the shells off of the hatchling.

The hatchling would squeak softly, nuzzling into his jaw as she did. The dragonling was no bigger than a housecat, and its small stature was adorable. The little female squeaked as Ash continued, before he finally broke her free. He would pull his head away, before the little dragon would crawl out of her egg, and squeak, blinking and shaking her scales. The female would nuzzle against Ash, squeaking in recognition:

Ash was her father.

Not long after the second hatchling was free from her egg, the first hatchling started to do something that took Ash by complete surprise… again. The hatchling would walk over to another shaking egg, and sniffed. The small black would paw and nibble at the shell, helping the little dragon within and yanked at the shell. This caused the father dragon to watch and feel his heart swell with pride as his offspring helped free another of its siblings. It was a lesson that he did not intend to teach, but with seeing the young one show initiative...

Ash had hope for his brood.

He had hope for many reasons… a hope of many miracles.

As his mind was consumed by the thought, Ash would hear the rest of the entire brood of eggs beginning to hatch. The drakes were quick to react, assisting the hatchlings with their shells and nuzzling the young ones. The young dragon would see the little hatchlings starting to play, and squeak at the sights around themselves. Any sense of primal dominance or claw fights caused Ash to intervene as the rest of the batch started to hatch, growling at the young ones who wanted to fight.

His actions would be enough for them to back down, the young hatchlings would submit and soon start to nuzzle the large father. Their instincts kicked in, recognizing Ash as the broodfather of the clutch. They would squeak and coo affectionately towards him, before moving over to their siblings and broodmothers. The black dragon would soon be surrounded by his brood, seeing the young ones nuzzle and squeak, before looking up towards their father. Their golden eyes gazed at their father, recognizing him as their broodfather, and purring happily.

Ash would nuzzle his children lovingly, purring deeply and content in the joy that radiated from the combined masses that were thirty two hatchlings.

Ash would be the first to exit the house, stretching and gazing up at the stars in the sky. He was alone, as Isha and Kyr were tending to the brood that were growing quickly in their nest. It was the first night in his life that he experienced the love and responsibility that was fatherhood. Whether this came from his being, destiny, fate, karma… whatever drove the torch, it filled Ash with the spark of life. Not even death can take all things dear when seeing the hatchlings mewl and the shine of his brood ran strong. Not a single egg laid dormant... a blessing indeed.

Allowing himself some peace amidst chaos, he allowed nature speak unto itself without distraction. Being out here, Ash would gaze towards the stars and think. His thoughts would be about the dragon gods, the Astral Plane, his old life, and everything in between. Within the silence of the night, Ash would gaze upon the starry skies above, seeing two moons that shone and radiated their light upon the world. One moon sat low while shining bright throughout the skyline, seeming larger compared to the second moon. That smaller satellite glowed bright along the pair, leaving the night truly in the glittering dance of stars and light.

In that moment, he gave pause to look up toward those celestial bodies; they looked like pearls sitting amongst countless diamonds scattered across space high overhead. There seemed so much beauty hidden inside every single constellation, something that was easy to identify. There was no name he could give these stars or constellations, but they were beautiful beyond words .

For once in his entire life, he was at peace. No pain. No suffering. Nothing. This was a perfect moment. A chance for him to relax and enjoy what lay before him. A moment of serenity. But, the dragon knew it would not last long, but at least he could enjoy the view.

With the calmness of the moment, he would begin to feel himself relax. The stress from his new body started to slowly melt away, leaving behind the remnants of the memories that were still fresh in his mind. Still, the dragon would sigh deeply, closing his eyes and relaxing. Within that moment, he could feel the warmth of the air and the coolness of the breeze.

It was almost hypnotic, like being under the spell of someone else's mind. It was a peaceful feeling, and for a moment, he felt nothing but contentment. His senses became dulled and his muscles loosened, his mind drifted to another light in his mind where all was peaceful and serene. In that moment, the dragon would open his eyes and look out towards the open forest ahead of him.

And in that moment, Ash's thoughts turned towards preservation.

How could he preserve the race? How could he ensure that the dragons, and drakes, did not fade away?

In that thought, Ash would look to the empty crop field he had irrigated earlier. It was an idea he had, to use his power of agriculture to make food, crops, and use the nearby water to grow and preserve the garden. And as Ash stood, he would think on a way to hone his magical prowess to do what he wanted, and focus his intention. With that, he would begin concentrating on the field before him, casting his intention into the field. This time, he changed what he imagined happening to the field. He focused his thoughts, directing the focus to imagining a field full of bountiful food and water that dragons could feast on... a magical food that all can eat... and one that can help preserve the lives of those deserving.

Ash would soon finish his completion of intention and focus, and the concentration ended. When he had opened his eyes, the black dragon would stare in shock and wonder at the field he had just irrigated. The entire field was covered in rows of trees that glowed brilliantly. Each tree was massive and bore fruits that were ripe, plump, and juicy. The colors of the fruit were varied and beautiful. The leaves were lush, green, and healthy, giving off an aura of purity and life. It was like he was staring at the beautiful trees of Japan, but bearing fruit, more pedals, and an essence he could see radiating from the roots.

"This..." Ash thought. He couldn't believe what he had seen, nor the sheer sight of the plants themselves. There was a sense of wonder, one that was matched by the feeling of disbelief and uncertainty. He had magically created a field of produce, all thanks to his intentions and magic.

But, what he was wondering the most was if it would work.

In that thought, the dragon would lower his head and sniff the field, smelling the fresh produce and feeling his stomach growl hungrily. He would even walk over and pluck one of the fruits dangling from the trees, observing what it looked like. The fruit was purple and pink in color, round in shape, and soft to the touch. It was smooth, almost silky, and smelled delicious. It was unlike any fruit Ash had ever seen, and as the dragon inspected the produce, he noticed the insides were silky and pure of essence.

Without a moment to last, Ash opened his maw and took a bite into the fruit. The taste was divine, almost heavenly, as he ate the fruit, his mind was lost in ecstasy. Nothing could match the spark of flavors that touched his tongue and graced his teeth, his mind swimming in the euphoric bliss of the fruit. The flavor was sweet and succulent, filling his mouth with an explosion of juices. It was sweeter than mango, more pure of taste than pineapple, and the hardness was more potent than sweetener. It was as if the dragon had just bitten into a slice of heaven, his eyes opening wide at the flavor, and swallowing the fruit.

Ash would stare down at the half eaten fruit in his claws, and he would eat the rest for himself, casting the glowing seeds deeper into the forest with the throwing of his claws. With a deep sigh, he would gaze at the field before him, his eyes peering upon the glowing trees that shimmered with a divine light. It was a strange feeling, something that felt so odd and unique, but familiar.

However, he was not alone in this moment, as he would hear footsteps approach, and the dragon would turn to see Isha and Kyr approach, their eyes filled with a mixture of curiosity and hunger.

"What is this...?" Isha asked, her voice filled with wonder as she gazed upon the fruit and produce.

"This is food. Food for us. I can create it, and make sure there is enough for our brood." Ash explained, looking at his mates.

"That is incredible." Kyr spoke, her eyes gazing at the food. "I never knew you were capable of such a feat." She added.

"Mystra has blessed me." Ash replied. "We will eat and feed our brood. This will ensure their survival."

"Yes. Yes it will." Isha agreed, nodding her head.

Not long after Isha and Kyr bowed their heads to him, the two females walked ahead and would eat the fruit, enjoying the produce. It was a good moment for the trio, leaving them to relax and enjoy their time. Ash would look at the hatchlings in the house, seeing every single one of them sleeping in one large pile together. He would see his offspring sharing in each other's warmth, and the thought would make him happy.

For a moment, Ash felt he was truly blessed.

War was hell.

With the roar of the flames, the clash of weapons, and the screams of the dying echoing through forests across the Dominion of Dragonkind; Dragons and the many scaled folk rushed to join the fray. All in the Dominion had been trying desperately keep up while battling back hordes of men wielding strange weapons mounted onto horses.

Atop of a tower overlooking the battlefield, a towering red dragoness gazed forward anxiously. The crimson dragoness stood atop the tower, her armor glinting in the light as the sounds of hominid weapons thundered in the foggy atmosphere, and screams filled her ears. Her claws dug into the stonework beneath her, her blood-red eyes narrowed as the scene played out before her.

Her wings drooped slightly under pressure as legions of her people's bodies being broken, shattered, or destroyed by the weapons of the hominids, and the queen herself could only watch as her people fell. Their scales had been ripped apart by the weapons that the humans used, the magic they possessed tearing through her soldiers like paper, and the blood that spilled across the battlefield had painted it red. This was a fight that had been raging for months, and they were losing.

She was losing.

"How is this possible...?" The dragoness whispered to herself, her crimson eyes narrowing as she watched a human soldier strike down a drake, impaling it on a sharp needle attached to a wooden stave... and igniting a flash into the draconic warrior's chest, causing it to drop to the ground in an instant.

"This can't be happening..." She said again, her words sounding hollow and distant.

The queen turned around, her red scales reflecting off the sun. Her eyes darted towards the human armies below, her pupils constricting as the realization of their situation hit her. If they did not do something soon, they would all be dead.

They had to flee.

"We need to retreat! Flee the Dominion!" The red dragoness roared, turning to face her people as they struggled against the humans below. "Gather our remaining forces! Retreat!" She cried out, her voice shaking the air as her tail whipped violently behind her.

There was only silence.

Her heart dropped as she realized what was going on. The dragons, drakes, the dragonborn, lizardfolk, even the kobolds that remained alive had begun to flee the battlefield. They began running away, some limping with wounds and injuries; and others dragging themselves along using sheer willpower to survive.

"Retreat!" The red dragoness snarled again, her words echoing across the battlefield as the sound of gunfire filled the air, all aimed at her. Bullets whistling past, shells exploding close beside, and even fireballs were thrown at her; targeting anything in the air…

Her soldiers tried desperately to escape, but the humans kept coming, and their numbers were endless. And when those bullets struck home, the bodies of those they struck fell to the ground. Some died instantly from shockwaves penetrating fleshy organs whilst still breathing no longer, most simply ceased living without ever knowing why. And as the humans continued to multiply and their weapons continued to hit their marks... There was only one result from these twin combinations.

They were being slaughtered.

The Queen snarled furiously, her crimson eyes narrowed into slits as she glared down at the humans. They were coming closer and closer to her position, making her personal situation more precarious than at any point since the beginning of conflict; especially now considering how few defenders she currently held compared to the massive onslaught.

With a lasting action she would have in her tower, the dragoness turned to a central crystal orb that glowed brilliantly in the center of the chamber, pulsating softly as the power within was activated by her intent. All it needed was her desire and focus to allow her to view all things at once.

The magic began working...

A heartbeat later would be all that was needed as the crystal orb activated, revealing the Palantir's of her citadels... her fortresses. They would soon be under attack as her entire military was being wiped out before her. Soon her generals and subjects, the dragon kingdoms and realms, all revealed themselves and looked to their Queen.

"The Dominion's forces have been wiped out. Our people will fall, take what forces you can and retreat to the West. We must spare our people and find a sanctuary, we are too spread out for a proper defense... take our people and centralize our forces there." The dragon queen would command, her words were shaking... but had authority behind it.

"Queen Estrella... how can we leave the Dominion? We have stood firm here for millenia and fought back against many foes... why abandon our lands now?" The first general inquired, his own appearance battered and beaten with bloodied scale cuts from fighting on the field itself. His army had been defeated as well, forced to flee and gather what survivors he could.

"Do not speak such folly to me... General Rias. You saw the strength of our enemies weapons... we have not faced a foe like this." The queen countered in frustration and shame.

"My Queen... Please reconsider! Even if we have lost the territory, the land is ours." Another of the generals replied.

"The Dominion's lands were vast, the dragonkind were born to rule them..." Rias growled deeply, his tail swished nervously from the sides.

"The situation is dire and I have failed this kingdom!" The queen cried out.

"My Queen..." General Rias paused, his words faltering as his voice filled with surprise.

The Queen knew well what this meant and had already accepted her defeat, but now was not the time for glory, it was for salvation... no matter the price. She would show courage and fight, not run. "If this means that we must abandon our lives to secure our future... then I will not stop any who wish to follow this course."

In that moment, Rias spoke once more, his tone heavy with uncertainty, "Then let the warriors who fought bravely and tirelessly stand together as one and defend to their very last."

With those words, the queen turned towards Rias, her scales bristling and a roar rumbling in her throat. In truth, she wanted to give the dragon general a vicious berating and send him fleeing for safety, but now was not the time for childish logic. If he wished to die in glory, then she would let him give her more time to save more people.

"Fine." She snarled before she looked to the others, knowing they were not as battered as Rias. "I order anyone who can still fight and wishes to do so, to assist General Rias in giving the people time to flee. The rest of you, get everyone out. We will meet in the West. Over the mountains of our ancestors and into sacred lands. This is the final order of your Queen..."

And with that, the dragoness would see the dragons bowing. With her final order given, she would grip her orb and crush it, shattering the device before she took off. Flying high up and above the clouds, she would watch the world burn below, seeing her people flee to safety...

But those fleeing to help Rias and his doomed forces were not making it. As the Red Dragoness would stare at the fires that ravaged her home, she felt a presence of her kin fly towards her. The dragoness would turn and stare, her crimson scales radiating brilliantly from the setting sun and its golden rays. The light seemed to bleed away from the darkness that had descended upon the skyline, giving life to all those who had come too late...

"Come, my children... we must save what we can. Leave no one behind."

The dawn's early light washed over a serene field, casting long shadows along the landscape in a mix with the warm, golden hue of sunrise. Ash stood alone amidst the tall grasses, the dewdrops glistening like tiny jewels on his massive scales. His heart was full, buoyed by the contentment of his new family life. Just a small distance away, his two broodmothers tenderly cared for his hatchlings, their soft coos being heard in the distance under the safety of the wooden fence line.

As the sun climbed higher, Ash turned his attention to the magic coursing within him. The realization that he could cast spells exactly as he performed in tabletop games, it now felt like a natural extension of his being. He focused on the essence of himself, feeling the power swirl and coalesce at his command. With a deep breath, he released his intent, and a simple spell materialized. A small orb of light appeared above his palm, flickering like a tiny star, a manifestation of the 'Light' cantrip as he imagined it.

With the ability to use this power, Ash pondered if he could utilize the raw essence within him, something Ignis had hinted was available to dragons and even folk. Looking toward the life in the field and the wildlife that surrounded it, an idea struck inside him: making natural shelters.

Taking a deep breath, Ash focused on a dirt mound and concentrated on it, imagining the shape of the earth being formed into a rock house. When he imagined it, he would understand he was using the Mold Earth cantrip, resulting in the creation of a little burrow into the mound. He then gathered his mental intention and channeled the essence out of his mind, into the mound. He gave it enough strength for the pile of dirt to twist and twine upwards, which created a furnace within it.

When he finished forming the furnace, Ash was overcome with pride. The results on the use of his magic made him ambitious, causing the black dragon to grow with satisfaction. If there was no room to spare in the little shack they resided, the dragon could easily craft more lodges out of the earth itself and furnish them to the perfect specs his hatchlings would need.

With this thought, the dragon focused on another element in the Earth: Stone. Ash held in his mind a stone cabin that could act like a great hall, or an underground home that was safe from the rest of the world. It didn't take long before he was able to bring this vision to life by drawing the power from within himself. He would stare at the large slabs of stone that had been left exposed from the excavation of the dirt, the power in his eyes concentrating on what he wanted to create.

At that moment, the stone began to mold and change. The black dragon guided his intentions to work the earth and shape the rocks into a large stone structure, with a stout base to support its foundation. The vision itself looked akin to that of an ancient Roman Villa with a courtyard surrounded by fencing and a low stone wall. His mind expanded his desire, molding forth stonework homes to match it, and surrounding a massive Roman style estate in the image of the old civilizations he used to read about. He added the trappings of art and culture, his imagination fueling the image he had created. It was everything his draconic nature was wanting:

Pristine, beautiful, luxurious, and large...

Finally, the vision was complete...

Ash stared at the results of his new magic and allowed himself a small purr of delight at the results, smiling widely at himself. Now, the rest of the brood and his broodmothers could live comfortably within their own living space, as well as an open area and shelter for the rest of the clan should their need arrive.

Ash would take one long look at his handywork, admiring the work he did. Not only would it fit a good number of his brood, it was made for protection as well. It was something that the old life he remembered reading and playing games of Rome and Medieval days in his past life... except now he had a cheat code around it. That fact made him chuckle on the inside, before he would decide to enter the property and start cultivating the open fields surrounding the houses and the interior plaza itself. He would plant and conjure more crops, making sure his people would have all the food they would ever need, and leaving a fair number of trees and small courtyards around the fields in a timely manner. The last thing he wanted was to create a deformed manmade area out of his magic...

Now that he looked at the villa more, Ash saw the shape and stone of the place looking a lot more like Monteriggioni, of Ezio's second home. His memories played back and recalled the fun he had of the game while also recalling the architectural details that were built there. Ash was almost envious that the artist of the old had as well as the spirit of architecture the ancient ways once held. In that regard, the dragon would learn much more about that age of man, and his desire to embrace its ways and fashion the dragon villa. He would decide on adding a beautiful garden with a water fountain.

However, before he could continue, Ash would then turn his head to the sound of feet walking behind him. The drakes, specifically his broodmothers and his hatchlings. The moment he set eyes upon his young ones, he would see that every hatchling had grown to the size of a German Shepard, not nearly as big as he is, but regardless... they were growing rapidly. It had barely been mere hours since his awakening... but these hatchlings were growing, developing fast. It would seem as if the aura radiating from their father aided in their growth...

"Father."

He turned his head and looked down to see one of his black scaled sons looking up at him, speaking to Ash. That alone had shocked Ash. Not a full hour or even half a day had passed, yet they were already so large and at their speaking phase. Ash had wondered, looking towards the rest of the group... the large number of hatchlings standing beside their brood mothers were looking at him, analyzing him and awaiting a response from the statement.

"Yes.. I am your father…." Ash responded, smiling at them. The dragon would not show his thoughts, and only lowered his head down to nuzzle them, earning loving rubs and playful grasps by his hatchlings. He was still towering over them by several feet, but the young hatchlings nuzzled him nonetheless as he pulled back and straightened his body upright.

The sound of a gushing brook cut through the silence. Looking at the growing young, Ash smiled.

"This is now your new home, my young ones. You all will grow to live in them, but for now, we go to the estate. Come, let's see your new home." The black dragon chuckled, rising to his haunches and leading the way into the structure of his imagination, where everything was created by the simple magic of his intention.

The Villa was now home to them all...
