Passing through quarantine and customs, a young coyote by the name of Alex stepped out into the passenger arrival hall. Around him, people of all kinds flowed, chatted, hugged, kissed and even cried—the reunification of friends and family making Alex smile nervously. He'd never travelled before, oh, he'd thought about it, sure...

Now here he was, half a world away from his homeland, the USA, and now, he was here, in Australia, about to finally meet in the flesh and fur, his life-long friend. His heart raced with excitement as he looked around, eager to finally be in a place he'd only dreamed of – and read about. Sure, documentaries and books and such were a way to learn, but to be here, now, it was almost surreal.

Alex had been friends with the dingo, Max, for years beyond recollection. Their friendship had started online and grown over countless conversations and shared interests. Max had spoken about his life 'out west' as he referred to it, his adventurous spirit, and his unconventional family – a family member, that Max steadfastly refused to say who...

*

Max was waiting for Alex at the airport, his broad smile and wagging tail immediately putting Alex at ease. “Alex! You made it!” Max exclaimed, pulling him into a warm embrace. “Welcome to the land down under mate!”

The two friends exchanged stories and laughter, as they drove out of the city, the countryside turning into suburbia, then rural, then hours and hours and hours later, well after dark, Max finally turned the car off and gently shook the coyote awake.

“Uh... where...” Come the sleepy southern drawl from the barely awake coyote. “Did I...”

“Fall asleep?” Max chuckled. “For the past six hours, I guess that jet lag really is a thing!”

Slowly, Alex's head turned to look at Max, his eyes widening in disbelief. “We've been driving for six hours?”

Max's grin spread even wider, giving his friend a teasing sideways look. “No, I drove nine hours, you slept for six of those nine. Now, come on, let's get you showered and fed. I don't know about you, but airline food leaves a lot to be desired!”

*

“Let's get you...” Max began before there was a guttural grunt and a heavy thumping. Max barely had time to brace, before he was crushed in the shadowy grip of what towered over him, its arms muscled like steel cables, wrapping around his shoulders. “Mmph!”

Alex yelped, his bags slipping from his numb fingers as he stared in shock. Max was locked in what looked like a death struggle, the shadowy figure looming over him with muscled arms wrapped tight around his neck.

Alex's heart slammed against his rib cage, a knot of ice gripping his gut. His paws trembled as his bags slipped from numb fingers, landing forgotten at his feet. He stumbled back, eyes wide as saucers, locking onto the massive shadow that loomed over Max.

What the hell?

A strangled whimper escaped his throat, and he instinctively ducked behind the car, his breathing ragged.

This can't be real!” Alex whispered to himself, tail tucked tightly between his legs. He peered over the edge of the car, eyes flicking between Max, now half-crushed in the thing's muscled grip, and the hulking beast.

What is this? Some kind of monster? No... no way, monsters aren't real, yet...

His thoughts spiralled, adrenaline turning his limbs to jelly.

Those muscles...

“Get off, you overgrown rug!” Max gasped and then laughed, reaching up and grabbing the thing by the forearms and pulling free. “I missed you too, you been good? I know, I had to, look, just wait a moment, alright?” Awkwardly, Max stepped back, and whatever it was made the strangest noises, that only exasperated the confused and startled coyote worse, sending his fear spiralling into the sky.

Again, that shadow growled and lunged towards Max, who turned and pushed it away, firm, but gentle.

Moonlight reflected the green glow of eyes – eyes that were at least six feet off the ground if they were an inch. Their luminous gaze blinked, then as if by magic, suddenly appeared about four feet, as if whatever it was, crouched down. A disturbing series of clicks echoed in the night, and Alex's breath caught in his throat. As the shadowy mass crawled off the patio and thudded heavily onto the dusty ground.

“Hey, Finn? Stop playing games. Be nice!” Max called out, clapping his paws together. “Don't terrorise poor Alex on your first meeting!”

Alex's eyes widened, as the clouds pulled away and the moon shone forth – revealing the imposing physique of Finn—a feral red kangaroo. Finn crouched, tilting his head softly and uttered a series of strange grunts, growls and other noises.

“Is... is that a kangaroo?” Alex's eyes were wide, reflecting the moonlight, as he stared, his muzzle falling open and he stared in disbelief.

Max chuckled, brushing dirt and dust from his clothes as Finn finally released him. “Woah, easy there big guy,” he playfully teased, giving Finn a playful slap on the shoulder. Then, turning to look at Alex, who was still hiding behind the car, Max chuckled and softened his grin. “Yeah, I get it. He's... intimidating at first. Those muscles, right? Trust me, Finn's just a big overgrown joey, he's a sweetheart and really playful, but gentle.”

He walked over to Alex, extending a paw to help him up. “I promise, he's all muscle and no malice. Well, unless you're a dingo who stole his snacks. Then maybe...”

Max laughed, glancing at Finn with a playful wink before adding more quietly. “Trust me mate, if he wanted to hurt either of us, we wouldn't be standing here. Look at those hind talons-- three and a half inches. He could gut you from throat to groin with one kick.” He paused, then chuckled again. “He won't though, really! He's a big softie.”

Alex trembled, picking up his bags and following Max. He stayed behind him and looked around for Finn, who had seemingly vanished into thin air.

Max's stomach rumbled and he gave another lopsided grin. “Alright, come on, it's been a long trip and I don't know about you, but I'm hungry!”

Turning back to the house, Max yelled out. “Finn? If you're on the couch again, I swear...”

Bewildered and lost, Alex retrieved his bags and followed Max into his house.

*

After a long flight, then an even longer day of travel, albeit having slept a good nine hours, Alex stepped over the threshold into Max's home with a sigh of relief. The warmth and comfort of the interior were a welcome change from the dryness and harshness of the outside world. Max led Alex to the guest bathroom with a friendly pat on the back.

“Feel free to freshen up,” Max said with a grin. “A hot shower will do wonders after that flight.”

Alex nodded gratefully, quickly opening his suitcases before retrieving a clean set of clothes and his toiletry bag. When he stepped into the bathroom, he quickly turned on the shower and as the steam enveloped him, he let out a contented sigh as the warm water washed away the dust and weariness of travel. The soothing cascade of water provided a moment of relaxation, allowing him to unwind and prepare for the evening ahead.

Refreshed, Alex joined Max in the kitchen. The aroma of cooking food filled the air, making his stomach rumble in anticipation. Max had prepared a hearty meal, and they sat down at the table, sharing laughter and stories. Max animatedly recounted past adventures, his tales peppered with humour and exaggerated gestures. Alex didn't believe half of what he heard but found himself laughing along, his earlier apprehension melting away with each passing moment.

As the meal drew to a close, Max rested his paws on the table, a grin spreading across his muzzle. “Alright, I think its time for you to truly meet Finn. He's settled down now, so he won't be as playful.”

Alex's curiosity was piqued as Max led him out of the dining room out into the dimly lit backyard. The moonlight cast a soft glow over the area, illuminating a figure lounging casually on the patio. Finn, the feral red kangaroo, was sprawled comfortably, one long leg folded over the other, his upper body almost upright as he looked out into the darkness, one ear twitching to and fro.

Finn grunted as Max stepped out, barely glancing at him before his large, expressive eyes fixed on Alex who nervously approached. Finn gave a low, guttural cough and a twitch of an ear, a subtle gesture of his acknowledgement of Alex, but his complete disregard as well. Finn new Alex, despite being a coyote, wasn't a threat to him.

“Nice to meet you, Finn,” Alex said, extending a paw cautiously.

Finn looked back, then down at the paw, then up at Max.

“Oh, forgot – here, he loves these, give this to him,” Max murmured, as he reached into a pocket and dropped something roughly onto his paw pads.

Alex frowned, looking down at them in curiosity. “Almonds?”

Max smirked. “Yep, he loves them, his favourite treat!”

Carefully, Alex crouched down and held his paw out, offering the almonds. Finn sniffed at him, his warm eyes gazing up at him, as with the barest brush of his lips, Finn plucked the almonds off Alex's paw and began chewing them noisily. After a few moments, Finn swallowed and emitted a series of soft growls, clucks and to Alex's ears, a surprisingly complex series of grunts of different tones and lengths. Glancing at Max, Max merely looked back and shrugged.

“Don't ask me, I have no idea how to speak kangaroo,” Max grunted, then gave Alex more almonds to feed to Finn.

Finn happily devoured the almonds, chewing them and swallowing, whilst Alex continued to tenderly caress him, Finn showing interest, but not the slightest sign of discomfort.

“I still can't believe you have a kangaroo pet,” Alex murmured, glancing away from Finn and over to Max.

Max laughed gently, then shook his head. “Finn? He's not a pet, pet isn't the right word. He's more like a family to me, I love him, he – well I think – loves me, we've been close ever since...”

Alex caught the subtle tone shift in Max's voice, as he resumed tenderly stroking Finn, but turning his gaze to Max.

“I found him when he was just a joey, his mother... well, she was hit by a car. He wouldn't have survived much longer if I hadn't saved him. He was a little pinky. Barely a shadow of fur under his skin, eyes tightly closed and ears flat. Young, almost too young... it was a struggle Alex, hand rearing him, those first three months... I nearly lost him multiple times. I didn't know what I was doing at first, but you know, you learn fast, when there's a little, fragile life in your paws, depending on you.”*

As the evening continued, Alex and Finn shared a moment, Finn coming inside and Alex sitting on the floor, tenderly caressing and stroking Finn's russet fur, much to the kangaroo's obvious pleasure. Max watched from a distance, a knowing smile on his face as he observed the connection forming between Alex and Finn. Alex's initial fear had given way to growing interest, and the bond between coyote and kangaroo grew stronger with each passing minute.

Sometime later, after Max had retired for the evening, Alex stiffly rose, feeling unsettled and completely wide awake. He quietly walked out onto the porch, gazing up at the starlit sky. Finn joined him, settling beside him with a comfortable ease. The silence was filled with the occasional soft grunt or cluck from Finn, who seemed to care not one wit about the sky and stars but seemed genuinely gauging Alex's body language.

Alex turned to Finn, then sat beside him, once more tenderly stroking him. “I've always wondered about the way your kind communicates,” he said softly. “It's fascinating. Do you have a language like we do?”

Finn blinked, not understanding a word before his eyes began to twinkle with an apparent mixture of amusement and warmth. He rose, then gently nuzzled the confused coyote, yet his body posture remained relaxed and inviting – almost as if asking in his own way for more petting and caressing.

Happily, Alex began stroking Finn's neck and shoulders, tenderly feeling the taught musculature beneath the pelt, then out of curiosity, tenderly taking Finn's paws in his own and gazing down at the leathery pads.

For a while, Finn tolerated the coyote's gentle, even affectionate touches and exploration, until at last, he rose and a deep shiver rippled through him.

“It is late, isn't it?” Alex murmured, as he began to stand.

Finn's behaviour shifted subtly. He began to playfully grasp at Alex's tail, making soft clucking sounds. Finn, not understanding, merely stayed where he was, wagging his tail and looking over his shoulder, oblivious to the first signs of Finn's thoughts. Alex was unaware of kangaroo courtship rituals, just thinking Finn was feeling playful. Finn grunted again, his body language becoming more focused and deliberate. Finn's gaze lingered on Alex with an intensity reflecting the moonlight, that Alex found both intriguing and a little unsettling.

Finn moved closer, his large, muscular form almost enveloping Alex. He began to make a series of low, rhythmic grunts and quiet, almost sub-vocal grows, his paws awkwardly grabbing at Alex's hips. His entire body language changed, as his eyes adopted a deeper look – one of eagerness and growing dominance.

“Uh... Finn?” Alex breathlessly gasped. “Is everything alright?”

Finn responded with a gentle nuzzle, his eyes bright with a mixture of primal desire and something Alex couldn't decipher. He continued to make soft, quiet sounds nudging Alex gently with increasing insistence. His powerful legs, once folded casually, the nails scraping as he rose and planted them firmly on either side of Finn's own.

Alex's heart raced as he began to piece together Finn's intentions. The kangaroo's advances, though not harsh, were unmistakably driven by a strong, instinctive urge. Finn's behaviour, whilst not aggressive, was clearly a form of courtship, expressing his desire to do what he thought of as natural – either unaware or uncaring, that Alex was neither a kangaroo – nor a doe. The startling realisation as his eyes travelled down Finn's body, then his eyes widened as he saw the large, S-like penis flickering just beneath Finn's tightly retracted testicles.

Alex was caught between apprehension and fascination.

Finn... he wants to... to mate with me? Why? I mean... how can... he's a kangaroo, I'm a coyote and...

“Finn?” Alex panted, breathing quickly, his eyes widening. “I... I'm not sure what you're trying to do, I mean... all this? This is all new to me and...”

Finn flicked his ears, then with a series of gentle yet insistent nuzzles along Alex's neck and shoulder, his fingers curled slightly and he began clawing at the waistband of Alex's boxer shorts. His movements were deliberate, almost like he knew exactly what he was doing, but also... surprisingly gentle. His considerate nuzzles and licks were soothing, his tongue remarkably soft, and his panting breaths only brought the difficult ambivalent sensations to Alex's mind.

His initial confusion began to give way to curiosity. The more he felt Finn's intentional movements and heard the increasingly frantic noises, the more Alex found himself drawn to the kangaroo's raw, natural presence. He felt a growing, albeit hesitant, desire – an unnatural desire – a wish to understand and explore this new, strange dynamic.

Besides... it's not the first male you've had, is it? Just... well – you've never had a kangaroo buck before!

Finn continued struggling, trying to grasp the silk boxer shorts, his actions more purposeful and frustrated. He gently pulled Alex back, his powerful, yet controlled movements indicating his deep need. His grunts grew slightly louder and more intense, his claws scratching at the silk shorts.

“Woah, hey...” Alex yelped, then blushed, before he glanced hurried around.

Awkwardly, he got out of Finn's grip before he hurried tugged his silk boxer shorts off, then knelt on his knees and paws, his tail slowly wagging back and forth as he glanced over his shoulder at Finn. He allowed Finn to guide him, his heart pounding with a fresh surge of excitement and a healthy dose of fear.

Finn, surprisingly, was not harsh or rough, as he placed his paws on Alex's hips, then slipped them forwards and took a tight, but not uncomfortable grip. Finn's courtship grew more passionate, as he carefully positioned himself, giving a few short, experimental thrusts, before finding the right angle. His powerful muscles rippled with each movement, and his breathing broke to sharp pants. His dominance was evident, but it was tempered with a surprisingly deep sense of care for his about-to-be-mate.

As the moment approached, Finn gently but firmly positioned Alex, lifting his hips up, his powerful stomach and chest leaning over Alex's back. As Finn first penetrated him, Alex felt... nothing, the slim taper of Finn's penis flicking within him, then with a grunt, Finn pulled Alex back and began to enthusiastically thrust. The intensity of Finn's mating was powerful, and Alex, although initially unsure, felt a powerful connection as he submitted to Finn's advances, the Kangaroo soon fully mounting the gasping Coyote.

I can't believe I'm doing this... Alex's mind reeled. I'm being mated by a feral kangaroo... and what a kangaroo – I had no idea they were so... so endowed, it must be at least seven inches or more, not very girthy, but the way it twitches and...

The mating began with a deliberate, gentle approach. Finn's powerful, muscular form moved with a practised rhythm, his body positioning and repositioning Alex with care. They process was both exhilarating and intense, the raw physicality of Finn's movements going from gentle, to more feral and bestial. Alex's initial trepidation melted away, as he surrendered himself to the experience, his own arousal quickly rising.

How long Finn mated with Alex, Alex didn't know, his world swam around his head, lost in the space of primal connection and raw emotion. Finn's powerful thrusts were intense, each movement of Finn within him heightening Alex's own arousal. The moonlight bathed them both in its soft glow, casting their shadows long that danced on the walls with their movements.

I can't believe it... Alex's mind reeled, the ache in his scrotum unbearable, the pleasure building to a crescendo within him. A feral kangaroo, he's actually... he and I... he...oh...

The intensity grew even higher, Finn's nose and mouth next to one of Alex's ears, his breath hot and panting, until at last he gave a strong, sharp thrust, his orgasm culminating in a powerful release of frighteningly hot kangaroo semen that burst into Alex's body – triggering his own climax seconds afterwards. He'd never experienced such a orgasm – with another, a woman, or even using some of his toys - it was almost soul-crushing in the way it come over him, wiping away rationality and sentient thought – leaving only the incredible moment two souls bonded as one in this unnatural, yet passionate way.

Finn's grunts and shudders went on and on, wave after wave of his orgasm flooding Alex, whose short claws on his fingertips scratched at the patio wood, his head tilted back as he tried to draw breath through his mouth. His tongue lolled out the side of his muzzle and he quivered helplessly, surrendered completely to the kangaroo's dominance and lust.

*

Some time later, Alex became distantly aware of Finn's gentle grunts and soft nuzzles as the kangaroo began to groom him. Finn had dismounted, but Alex was unsure exactly when it had happened. The cool night air, leaving a light dusting of dew on his fur, brought him back to the present, making him realise just how much time had slipped past without him noticing.

As Alex slowly came back to his senses, he could feel the moonlight casting a softer, cooler glow on his fur. The moon had descended almost to the horizon, its once bright light now a more subdued crescent, and the stars had shifted positions across the sky.

As the stars shimmered overhead, Alex found himself wondering if Finn understood more than Alex thought. The kangaroo's calm presence was strangely comforting, as if he could sense Alex's residual unease. For the first time since stepping off the plane, Alex felt... at peace.

Finn's grooming was soothing, his gentle tongue brushing against Alex's fur with a tenderness that belied his earlier intensity. The kangaroo buck's actions were calming, a gentle contrast to the primal energy during their mating. The quietness of Finn's grunts, almost questioning in their sounds, followed with the gentle and warm nuzzle against Alex's neck further put the now trembling Coyote at ease.

Alex shifted slightly, his body feeling the pleasant afterglow of their shared experience. He looked up at the night sky, taking in the vast expanse of stars that now seemed to twinkle with a new, almost magical quality. The pre-dawn air was cool and refreshing, a stark difference to the heat of their earlier activity.

Finn's presence was reassuring, his large body providing a steady warmth on Alex's back. The kangaroo's gentle grooming continued, a silent yet intimate gesture of affection and care. Alex could feel the bond between them, the raw intensity of their mating now tempered by a connection and understanding that bridged the gap between kangaroo and coyote.

“Finn...” Alex whispered, trembling and speechless.

Finn blinked and playfully nuzzled Alex's cheek, before resuming grooming him.

Unbeknowst to Alex, he drifted off into a deep sleep, his earlier tension replaced by a peaceful slumber. When he finally awoke, the sun was up, and he found himself in a rather awkward predicament. Finn was laying beside him in a relaxed sprawl, his long legs stretched out, one beneath Alex's own legs, one over it, partially sitting up and munching on something hard and crunchy.

Alex blinked, his vision blurry as he tried to get his bearings. As he felt Finn's paw on his side, the short, blunt claws gently scratching, seemingly perfectly at ease and very relaxed, clearly enjoying the aftereffects of their intimate night. Just then, Max's voice rang out from the porch, startling the naked coyote half to death. The dingo stood there holding two cups of coffee, a bemused grin on his muzzle.

“Morning sunshine,” Max snickered, his tone dripping with amusement. “Didn't expect you to get so cosy with dear Finn...”

Alex blinked in confusion, his fur in disarray, boxer shorts missing and he flattened his ears in guilt and shame. “Max! I—uh—”

Max chuckled and walked over, taking in the sight of Alex and their post-mating relaxation. “Looks like you two had quite the night! Finn's taken quite a liking to you. He's not usually so... affectionate.”

Alex tried to shift, but Finn grunted and tightened his grip, nuzzling Alex's neck, as if to say “Not so fast.”

Alex looked embarrassed and sheepish, as he reached up for the coffee cup, only for Max's grin to spread wider, before he crouched down, holding the cup out and Finn began to eagerly drink the coffee.

“What the...” Alex gasped.

“Yeah,” Max snickered. “Finn's a bit grouchy if he doesn't get his morning coffee, besides – you think he's done with you? Just let him wake up a bit, oh, and just saying... it would be a lot more comfortable on Finn's bed, the spare bedroom. You know, just saying...”

*

As the afternoon sun started to dip, casting a warm orange glow over the landscape, Alex gingerly sat on the porch steps of Max's house. He was slick with sweat, sore and more than one part of his fur was glistening with kangaroo saliva. Finn lay a few feet away, blissfully asleep with the innocence only a feral animal could achieve.

Max walked over, offering a cold beer from the fridge, then sat beside him, placing a comforting hand on Alex's quivering shoulder. The two sat in silence for a while, the sounds of the outback filling the quiet between them: the faint rustle of the eucalyptus leaves, distant calls of the birds, and the occasional grunt or cough from the exhausted Finn.

“Not exactly how you imagined your first day in Australia, huh?” Max said with a chuckle, taking a drink from his own beer.

“Not even close. I mean, I thought I'd be dodging spiders, maybe see some kangaroo's in the distance... but making friends with one? I didn't see that coming.” Alex said, shaking his head in disbelief.

As he looked at Finn, a warmth spread through him—what had started as fear had transformed into something else, something strangely comforting.

“Friends?” Max playfully and cheekily ribbed Alex. “Oh, I think you're more that just friends. He's quite a buck, isn't he?”

Alex blushed worse and took a deep drink of the beer. His heart had nearly leaped out of his chest when Finn had first appeared. He'd seemed so... frightening, so intimidating, aggressive and violent... but Finn was none of that, in his own way, Finn had been playing with Alex, Alex realised that now. “You could have told me about Finn... about what he is really like.”

Max grinned and shook his head. “What? Spoil the fun? You should have seen your face when I found you and him...”

Alex glanced back at Finn, who stretched languidly, flicked an ear lazily, as if, even in his exhausted sleep, he could still sense Alex nearby. A small smile tugged at the corner of Alex's mouth, quickly replaced with a nervousness, as he glanced sideways at Max.

“I thought you'd freak out...” Alex stammered, then laughed nervously. “I mean, he's a feral kangaroo and...”

Max raised an eyebrow, then clinked his beer against Alex's, pulling his friend closer and hugging him with one arm. “You really think, you're the first to be Finn's mate?”

Alex's mouth fell open. “Wait—what? You mean... Finn and you too?”

Max merely laughed, tapping his chest with a grin. “What can I say? Finn's got good taste.”

Alex's mouth fell open, as he looked at Max, who merely glanced back at Finn, then back at Alex, his broad, playful grin spreading from one side of his muzzle to the other. “He's definitely quite a buck...”

“Yeah...” Alex chuckled, then winced again, gingerly repositioning his aching rump on the hard staircase. “I just didn't expect him to be so...friendly.”
