Chapter 50 - Downtime
More pieces of pizza are added to Copper’s bowl over the next half hour while they all spend some quality time together. It’s scoffed down with urgency, just in case anyone decides to pinch it from him. The yellow water bowl doesn’t taste any more satisfying than it first did, but he drinks it to completion, as he knows he should. He leaves a few chunks in the food bowl to eat last so he has something to reset his taste buds. Sitting back upright, the dog looks at his Master for approval, which he’s very happy to be given. So as to not look smug, he rests his head back down on his Master’s knee, after another wipe with a tissue, and settles there into the idle petting.
“Master,” comes a voice, interrupting a light slumber that had crept over Copper. “I was hoping I could play Warhammer with him tonight.”
“Alright pup. He’s been very good for me tonight, so I’ll happily relinquish him if you want to play your game.”
Copper looks up at his human, chin still resting on the bare leg. The smile on his face makes the dog very happy and starts his tail up again. He feels the hand that was stroking his scalp make its way down the back of his cranium to the collar, which is then unceremoniously unclasped.
“There you go puppy, you can start coming back to us now,” his Master says.
The dog stares up at him, feeling a sense of familiarity return. The faces around the room quiver on the edge of recognition, like trying to remember the participants of a dream. Names and relations trickle through the gaps as the doggy veil starts to degrade; but concepts remain abstract for a while. Cognition and deduction and opinion stored carefully as family photos on the hearth to be reminisced upon.
He pulls his chin away and straightens his back, slowly recalling his true self. His eyes drift around, being confused by his bound hands, then looks up at the other wolves, carefully piecing the world back to its original shape. An attempt at speech is made but only a gibberish mumble comes out.
“Don’t worry, Ember. It can take a minute or two for you to come back,” Alek says reassuringly.
The wolf-dog known as Ember nods and clears his throat, looking down at the two empty dog bowls in front of him. His ears flatten at the realisation of his recent actions, feeling more embarrassed about how he was made to act. That is until a twitch between his legs attracts his attention and speaks against his concerns. His cheeks grow red when he registers that he liked it more than he’d care to admit.
“How do you feel?” Comes the Master’s voice again, reaching over to pet Ember’s head again. “Did you enjoy yourself?”
“It was bonkers,” the black wolf replies finally, finding his voice return, albeit more slurred than usual. “I feel like I’ve just woken up from a really good nap, with a vivid and lucid dream where I was a dog. I remember it all perfectly, even though I didn’t feel like I was really there; almost like I was just watching someone else use my body. All I wanted to do was to eat, sleep and serve my Master.” Alek nods with a smile, as does Cal, seemingly more knowingly. “I didn’t care about what any of you thought of me, or what I thought of myself. I don’t think I’ve ever not cared for as long as that, and it was the most freeing and relaxing experience I’ve ever had.” He looks down at the bowls again. “The piss drinking wasn’t my thing, but knowing I was doing it for you … made my opinions no longer matter. Scary in a way, but … also very horny.”
“Yep, that sounds about right,” the white wolf sighs wistfully. “Fun isn’t it?”
Ember keeps his head lowered, thinking it over, but ultimately agreeing, even if he doesn’t say it. His dick still bobs up and down, answering for him.
“Anyway, you ready to play another game of Warhammer?” Hess queries, wiggling his toes excitedly.
“Heh, probably. I could probably do with some actual water though.”
“You can grab some downstairs. I’ll see ya there.”
The chubby wolf bounds over to the door and hurries out to go set up the game.
Chuckling to himself, Alek starts freeing the wolf of all his restraints, allowing him to stretch his legs finally. He rolls onto his side and then his back, slowly extending his knees and sighing contentedly. His hand soon wanders to his shaft to start idly playing with it, sprawled out on the carpet.
“None of that, pup, you haven’t got your collar on. Cal, go get it.”
The butler bows and walks out.
“Heh, not got any power over me now, Master,” Ember mutters with insubordination and sticks out his tongue.
“That sentence loses a lot of its impact when you still call me Master.” Alek grins.
The wolf pouts coyly and deigns to maintain eye contact, with his hand still firmly attached to his manhood. The white wolf returns and the collar is handed to the human who eyes the petulant wolf daringly.
“Do it,” Alek goads, “See what happens.”
Ember steals a glance back at him and then up at the butler who is smirking and has his arms crossed. Not able to keep contact he returns his vision safely down to his cock to where his bratty ego has taken hold. He fights the urge to submit to it, remembering how good it feels to touch oneself, with the added enticement of another attainable orgasm.
“Go on, give me a reason to punish you.”
Ember gulps nervously, feeling the throb of his member against his fingertips; a satisfaction he could not get alone whilst behind the facade of a dog. He could keep going … he could cum … but what would be the cost?
He ponders the discord in his brain; the regain of full autonomy, squashed by guilt; the shame of losing to his self-desires; the insolence of disobeying his Master. Regardless of the want, he cannot bring himself to cum. Not without permission.
He groans a deep sigh and his hand flops down on the carpet to his side. His face is red with the embarrassment of attempting to play, and subsequently losing, his game of chicken.
“Good boy, your cum belongs to me. Not that there’s bound to be much left in those balls by this point. Now come here,” Alek commands softly and pats the carpet with his foot.
The wolf pushes himself half-up to genuflect so that the collar can be returned to his neck. Once secured, he stands and idly kicks the floor, defeated.
“Doesn’t that feel so much better?” The human teases, also standing.
“Yes, Master,” Ember grumbles bashfully, idling his eyes.
“That’s my good boy. Go have fun playing your game.”
Ember’s tail had begun wagging without his foreknowledge but he knows it’d be foolish to try and stop it now. Putting it out of his mind, he stretches and catches sight of Voigt on his way to the door, still fast asleep on the bed.
“Wow, he really can sleep though anything,” he notes, stepping closer to observe.
“Voigt!” Alek barks commandingly, and instantly the hulking frame bolts upright and jumps off the bed into a military stance.
“Yes, Sir.”
“Easy, big guy, I just didn’t want to see you sleep your evening away.”
The wolf relaxes his muscles somewhat and smiles sheepishly.
“Ah, thank you. Yes, there are better things I can be doing with my time.” Voigt says, flexing his spine. “I wouldn’t mind your help actually, if you’re free?” He asks Ember, stepping past him toward the hallway.
“I promised Hess I’d play a game of Warhammer. But I can knock on after, if you want?”
“That’s fine, see you later then.”
Still ashamed for his childish behaviour, Ember follows Voigt silently out of the room, giving Alek an awkward, and hopefully apologetic smile. Once downstairs, he finds Hess impatiently adjusting the pieces on the map, not moving them anywhere more advantageous to where they were.
“About time,” he scowls bitterly and sits himself down at the table.
“Sorry, let me just get a drink and we’ll start.”
Ember walks around the wolf and pours himself some water to try and clear the lingering taste of urine. Once seated, Hess starts running through the rules like before and introduces the new concept of morality, along with some additional core mechanics and some different model types. They run through a quick practice round before resetting and starting the game for real.
Both players start off with two units, with the objective being last-man-standing. However, Ember insists on a handicap after being so recently dehumanised and made to do things outside of his usual comfort zone. Also for being new to the game but the effect is the same. Graciously, he is given two extra models with guns, one per unit and the game begins.
Over the next two hours, up until 10pm, the fighting forces are whittled down with only a couple of deserters, to a very biased standoff. Voigt and Cal had become spectators near the end, curious to see who would be the victor; but with two more models still in play on Hess’s side, the outcome seemed fairly obvious. The next round begins and with the soldiers locked in combat they run through the ballistic and assault phases. Even with some lucky dice rolls, Ember’s last man is felled, allowing Hess to claim his second victory.
“Damn it!” The black wolf woofs, clenching his fist as his opponent takes great pleasure in toppling the last model. “Stupid game.”
“Tsk, such a sore loser,” Hess gloats, leaning back in his chair.
“Please, you throw such a tantrum when you lose,” Voigt laughs.
“Do not!”
“Oh shut up. What did you win anyway?”
Voigt looks between the contestants. Hess produces a dirty grin across the table and slips his hand under his rotund belly.
“Sir has to suck my dick, and I get the bigger share of what’s left of the pizza,” he beams smugly.
“After the amount you’ve had already I’d be surprised if he can even reach your cock,” the older wolf demeans with a cruel chuckle.
“Mean!” Hess frowns.
“Don’t look so disappointed, dear,” Cal remarks confidently to Ember. “As far as I see, you can still come out on top here.”
“How’d you figure that?” Ember whinges, fiddling with one of his infantrymen.
“Well, I didn’t hear anything in the rules about the winner having to be hard when they got their blowjob,” Cal tugs his own collar indicatively and winks.
“Hey, hey now, don’t just invent new rules!” Hess complains. “I don’t wanna go back in the chastity collar.”
Ember grins and leans on his elbows. “Poor puppy, you should really learn to set clearer win conditions.”
“Not only that, but you didn’t specify how you were going to get to eat the pizza either.” Voigt chimes in, towering over the fat wolf and lowering his pitch, “I’m gonna make sure you finish every last slice.”
Hess gulps and nervously looks around at all the wolves staring at him.
“I-I won … I should be the one that decides stuff,” he whimpers pitifully.
“Not when you lose to me, pet,” Ember says, pushing his chair back to stand up. “Come on, let’s get that collar changed.”
“Fuck you Cal, for ruining my victory,” Hess sneers as he is forced to follow his owner.
Cal giggles and playfully tugs Hess’s tail when he walks past before grabbing Ember’s attention.
“By the way, I’d advise against him having any more food at this time, he’ll get indigestion.”
Ember nods at Cal. “You’re right.” His gaze drops to his pet with a smirk. “No matter, I’m sure Voigt will be just as happy stuffing it in your muzzle tomorrow morning after breakfast.”
“Darn right I will,” comes the huskier voice of the gardener.
“OK, you boys have fun, I’m going to bed,” Cal says pleasantly, and kisses Hess on the lips to warm him up, and subtly apologise. “Love you.”
Hess scowls but mumbles his requited affection. Voigt makes his way back into the kitchen, likely to make a snack, while Ember leads his wolf back upstairs. They disturb their Master briefly for a quick collar changeover and then dip into Hess’s room.
“You’re gonna make me leave this collar on overnight again aren’t you?” Hess grumbles sitting down on his bed.
“Well we wouldn’t want to disturb the Master again to change it back now would we?” Ember reasons with a placatory smile, at which his pet simply groans again and folds his arms in a huff. “Now quit your bellyaching or you won’t get your spoils.”
The black wolf kneels down in front of the other and slots himself neatly between the bulky legs, inching his muzzle close to the sheath. He knows Hess will complain less when his dick starts getting attention, despite how soft it will remain. His tongue extends and starts working away at the furry balls, likely still pretty empty from all the work they’ve done today. It isn’t long before the belly is hoisted to grant better access, proving an acceptance, however reluctant it seemed. Ember makes use of this quickly enough, burying his nose into the furry nethers and sniffing around, while still working his tongue around the orbs.
A bead of pre wets the opening of the brown sheath, drawing Ember’s tongue magnetically to it. It works its way inside, aided by a slick inner-coat and all the juices left within over the course of the day. Hess groans softly and leans back further still, collapsing his upper body down onto the bed heavily. Ember smiles, and lifts himself up a little to get a better look as he starts to pull back the sheath. His grip is gentle and slow, but determined, gingerly exposing a flaccid wolf cock to the open air. So as to not let it go cold he dives back down, eager to collect its flavours, and it disappears effortlessly between his lips.
He feels the heat of the soft flesh as it’s trapped against the roof of his mouth. He draws long strokes of his tongue from as far into the sheath as he can, all the way up to the tip, feeling the subtle ridges of his baculum under the skin. The flaccid penis never once losing contact with the inside of his muzzle.
Hess starts squirming on the bed, humping every so often when the frustration of his chastity overwhelms his patience. But each time being no more effective as the last due to the magic of the collar.
Ember roams his hands around the round, fluffy belly above his face, squeezing and stroking the folds affectionately. The cock in his mouth not let to escape while the torment against its nerves continues ceaselessly on.
Licking and sucking and groping, Ember direction all of his attention on pleasuring his pet with no end goal in sight or mind. But, after twenty solid minutes, he starts feeling guilty for keeping the wolf up past his bedtime, and decides to finally pull himself away.
“Alright you,” Ember says, wiping his mouth “You need to go to sleep.”
Hess lets out a few low drones of complaint, but ultimately agrees with a delirious and affirmative grunt; followed shortly after by a “sir”.
“Good boy.”
The black wolf pushes himself up to his feet and stretches his back and legs up straight. Wanting to make sure Hess doesn’t pass out in this position, he helps him to his feet so he can go clean his teeth and get back to bed. Not yet feeling tired himself, he calls in on Voigt, as requested of him earlier.
On entering his bedroom, Ember sees the grey wolf hunched over the workstation, engraving some finer details onto the chess board. There’s a newly carved piece on the counter, a regal looking wolf holding a staff with a robe and pointed hat. He looks up from his work over the top of some low-set glasses and smiles warmly, insisting the younger wolf in and onto the other chair.
“How’s it going Geppetto?”
“Humph,” Voigt replies and holds out a hunk of wood. “Think you can do me another pawn my boy?”
“Yeah, as long as I have a reference to work from. I’ll give it my best, sir.” He salutes.
Voigt raises an eyebrow and smiles as he passes over the wood and some carving tools.
“You needn’t call me ‘sir’, not unless I’m pinning you down for a fuck anyway.”
“I know, I’m just in a good mood I guess.” Ember smiles back awkwardly.
“Alright, just don’t go giving the impression to the others that I’m your owner now.”
“Yes sir,” the wolf returns playfully. “So what are you working on?”
“Hess has already marked out some intricate details for me to score, so I’m just doing that in the playing board. I’m not as good as him at this stuff, but I just got done with this bishop and wanted to do something different.”
“I can only imagine Cal’s face when you give it to him.”
“When we give it to him,” he corrects “You’re putting a lot of work into this too, so you deserve just as much credit.”
Ember blushes and dips his chin, looking down at the chunk of wood he’ll soon be turning into a crouching wolf.
“I still can’t believe all this has happened to me, y’no?”
“Yeah, I know what you mean. I couldn’t believe my luck when I was administered.” Voigt chuckles, pulling his chisel away so as to not make an erroneous mark while he speaks. “But I adapt quickly. Like you.”
“You think I do?”
Voigt raises his eyebrow again and scoffs.
“You’re kidding right? It’s been, what, four days? I only took two days, but I had military training. If you didn’t acclimatise quickly, you fell behind.”
“I suppose you’re right,” Ember nods.
“Look …” Voigt sighs, and works his breaths to guide the words to come out. “I’m sorry I said you weren’t ready to come out of the basement. I’m very glad I was wrong.”
“Oh, it’s alright,” Ember says comfortingly. “I get it, you were protecting the others, and the Master. I don’t hold it against you. I would probably have said the same thing in your position.”
“Then that makes me feel better. I’ve been trying to say that for the past two days.” He laughs quietly.
“You’re a really good guy, Voigt. Thank you for looking out for me.”
“That’s enough of that. I’m putting you back to work in the garden tomorrow.”
“Heh, alright. I suppose I still need to find a job I’d like to do more permanently.” Ember starts shaving off the hard edges of the cuboidal block. “I like gardening, don’t get me wrong, but I guess I don’t find it as fulfilling you do.”
“What about cooking? Do you still like doing that?”
“Oh yes, I do enjoy cooking a lot. It’s challenging but artistic, like this carving stuff.”
“Well then why not just keep doing that? You might enjoy learning magic as well, since I assume that’s quite creative. Remember, true job satisfaction is a myth; being recognised for doing your best is far more fulfilling.”
“How poetic of you,” Ember remarks while shearing off the corners and rubbing away the loose fibres. “Honestly, it’s just nice to know I’m actually good at something. All my life I never thought I could achieve anything, especially the way my family talked to me.”
“They just never gave you the opportunity to try. Everyone has the ability to do anything, with the right motivation and means.” Voigt says plainly, turning the workpiece around to get a better angle. “But here, you have the freedom to pursue anything you want without the pressure. You can take the time to discover your niche. Who knows, you could become a master magician and surpass even Alek.”
“Ha ha, I don’t know about that.”
“We all have a certain piece of hard-wiring in their brain that makes us uniquely adaptive to a skill. Some people are great with numbers, others are more practical.” He gestures to the chess board. “Don’t worry too much about finding what you’re good at, you may just stumble onto it accidentally.”
“You think?”
“Absolutely,” Voigt puts down the chisel and sits up in his chair. “I didn’t know I liked doing this stuff until I needed to fix one of the decorative carvings above the front door frame. I was given the opportunity to mend it instead of hiring someone and not only did it turn out well, I enjoyed doing it.” He picks up the chisel again and holds it demonstrably. “Thus, here we are.”
“I guess I just need more things thrust upon me,” he winks.
“Tsk, you young’uns.” Voigt shakes his head and goes back to his work. “If I’d have known I was going to be getting another Hess in this house, I’d have sent you back,” he chuckles darkly.
“As if.” Ember tosses a piece of wood at the wolf.
“Ah ha, so you admit it?” He grins widely.
“I don’t have to admit anything,” Ember hunches over the work with an uppity pout.
“No, you’re right. It’s quite plain to see.” Voigt laughs again and goes back to his engraving. “Come on, let’s try and finish this before bed.”
The two wolves continue to work on their respective tasks until midnight, when they pack up and say their farewells. Ember retreats to his room finally and sits down on the bed in his empty room. Looking around he starts imagining how he might like to have it decorated. Based on the design of the other bedrooms, he seems to have full reign over it and needs to think carefully about how he’d like it to be. Perhaps he could get inspiration from the others since they have prior experience.
His eyes land on windowsill and a comforting smile creeps on his face when his cute wolf made of icing sugar and water, the grounding rod for his dreams, beams innocently back. His guardian for the doubt that threatens to taunt him.
He lays back in the bed and toys with the collar around his neck, knowing solace that it it’s there; the idea of being without it, seeming more alien with each passing day. He traces the ridges of it, committing its design to memory, like an extension of his body. Swiftly he falls asleep, finger hooked into the D-ring, akin to the sensation of a safety blanket and hugs the duvet tightly to his body. Feeling safe in solitude at last.
