Chapter Two: Unrestrained Love
Kit was still astonished at what had happened during the end of Chemistry class. It is currently lunchtime and he was in his normal spot on the black couch in the library. It was typical of Kit to be performing last minute homework assignments or conversing with his friends, which most of the time was Raven. The library was rather quiet today, even though there were lots of students in the room. Senior projects were due tomorrow and the people present were the regular last minute procrastinators. Kit however was alone with his feet propped on the coffee table as he sat there engrossed in a novel. The novel was a romance story between two high school students from two opposite social spectrums. One of the characters was a popular student who was accepted by his fellow peers as well as the "in crowd." The other however, was just the opposite. A regular loner who just blended in the crowd of lost people. Even though they were from complete opposite ends, they did not let that interfere with the love and the relationship that they both shared. Then the villains of the story were surprisingly a close friend of the loner as well as an ex-mate of the other. The two malicious characters are trying to expose the two guys for what they are as well as try to lead to their downfall. As he turned the page the silence was soon broken by a rustling of a folded piece of paper that fell from the pages and into the dark corner of the couch. The now suspicious fox creased the current page and laid the book face down on the table as he brushed the fur off of his shirt. The note wasn't marked with Raven's or Xen's signature paw prints so he was confused about who sent it. He leisurely opened it up as his eyes focused on his name so elegantly written across the top.
Kit
I am sick of hiding in the shadows just looking at you from afar. Just wondering if there was even a slight chance that you would give me a passing glance. I want to meet you face to face and tell you how I feel. Please meet me behind the band room at the end of school today. I have admired you for quite sometime and I want to finally confess these affectionate feelings.
Until Then Sweet Fox
The anticipation was killing him. But all he could wonder was why he felt the way he did. Kit was getting all antsy about meeting the fur who had feelings for him. His mind began running through all the people that he usually had contact with during the day. There were numerous people who flirted with him but they all seemed to be doing it in a friendly way. The only person who did act out on their feelings were Xen and Kawa. The writing wasn't as flowing as a vixen's handwriting, it was somewhat choppy. There was a water ring on the back of the note; the fur must have written this a while back and just now got the courage to sneak it to him. He could feel his face getting warm as he quickly tucked away the note into his pocket and continued to read his book as the thoughts of possible furs it could be. There were three more hours in the school day before he would get to see his beloved raccoon again. He could hear the raccoon's voice playing through his mind as he fixed his gaze upon the word "love" in his book. Love is what Kawazu was to him. His heart began to beat faster as he closed his eyes and remembered how it felt to be in his arms. How it felt to have your whole body protected against every whim of the world. How it felt to love someone and to have them love you back. Kawazu nibbled on the kitsune's ear as he turned his head to meet his lips with his own. He shut the book and continued to lose himself to his thoughts.
Raven made her way to the couch and could see that Kit was daydreaming again. She silently stopped behind the couch trying to not make a sound. She knew what was on his mind, and she was growing somewhat tired of it. Always hearing Kit's ramblings of love and feelings. Constantly going on about his constant happiness and his loving mate. Raven's last relationship ended on a bad note and she was still peeved about the situation. The vixen completely turned on her and found someone else and left Raven in the dust with the parting words, "I never loved you." She mumbled to herself "Why must I always be indebted to pain? Why am I always the one who suffers and he sits there completely happy? I deserve to have that happiness. I am always he one he comes crying to when he gets hurt. Yet he still finds someone." She clenched her paws and took a deep sigh as she made her way around the couch.
"I smell some love in the air and I think it's coming from you Kit." She happily smiled and sat down next to him as he turned o her and laughed.
The anticipation was killing him. The raccoon dreadfully looked at the clock again to see that only thirty seconds had elapsed since the last time he looked at the clock. There was only three more hours in the school day left until he would get to see his beloved fox again. The sun rays glistened across his desk as Kawazu sat staring blankly out the nearby window. The Professor's voice drifted off as he began to become entranced about their conversation that happened the night before.
"My heart always aches when we have to get off the phone Kawa. I wish we could spend more time together."
"Don't fret my sweet fox. Are you going to work after school tomorrow?"
The fox's mind quickly ran through his agenda for tomorrow and then his eyes widened as he realized, "Tomorrow is a student council meeting and I need to go. I haven't attended the last two meetings that were held and the president is looking down on me. She complains about my lack of participation to the club. But, I could care less. Ill just call my manager and tell her I have a meeting tomorrow and I'll just skip the meeting. I mean it's not like they really count on me anyway. Could we do something together?"
"Want me to pick you up tomorrow after school? We could go and do whatever you like. I just want to be able to gaze into your brown eyes again. I love your eyes Kit."
"Sure honey." His eyes closed as he rolled over to his side and huggled up to the pillow lying next to him on his bed only thinking of his mate.
With a more then average perkiness about him, Kit walked in the direction of the band room. As he walked past a window he abruptly stopped and turned about trying to check himself out, wanting to make sure he looked presentable for the mystery fur. As he approved of his appearance he turned the side of the band room and no one was there. Disappointed, he sat down and lay up against the wall awaiting the arrival. He rested his head against his paw as he tried to block out the sun's bright rays. It was strangely hotter then usual today. There was at least a twenty degree difference then the temperature for yesterday. Five minutes had passed and he was tired of waiting and figured that the note must have been written before yesterday and he just never checked his book. Kit then picked up his books and dusted off his tail as he came to look eye to eye with a white coated fox.
"Flame? What are you doing here?" The fox then grabbed the kitsune's paw in his own as his books dropped to the pavement. He leaned over and whispered in his ear with a smile on his face, "I'm the one."
