CH6. A New Home.

"Ladies and gentlemen we are now making our decent. Please remain in your seat with your belts fastened..." Phillip heard as he was shaken awake from the movement of the aircraft descending towards the ground. Phillip sat up in his seat and looked around with groggy eyes. The craft soon shook with the touch of the wheels meeting the pavement of the runway. They slowed down before making their way to the gate, with the lights for the belt turned off everyone got up and slowly made it off the plane.

Phillip had a ways to go since he was located in a different portion if the airport and had to take a monorail to get to the main building where the baggage claim was located. After finding the offload for the luggage Phillip was up by the wall waiting patiently.

"So you're the new kid?" The boy heard the deep voice from beside him. Phillip was startled when he looked to the side to see a tall black stallion standing beside him. His dark brown eyes were piercing down at the boy but Phillip didn't feel anything threatening from the horse.

"Y-Yes." He spoke softly.

The horse gave him nod. "Okay, where's your things." He asked while he crossed his arms across his chest.

Phillip looked back to the conveyor belt. "They haven't offloaded the luggage yet."

"Alright." Was all that he said as they both waited patiently. Phillip looked around to see people were staring over in their direction, Phillip was feeling kind of uneasy but the horse seemed to not even pay much attention. It wasn't much longer till the belt started to move and bag after bag started to roll off into the belt. Phillip spotted his bag with the sword still attached as he moved over to retrieve it when the horse moved over in front of him and picked it up with one arm, his muscles bulging while he heaved it up and over his shoulder. "Let's go." The anthro said while walking to the exit. Phillip followed him out though the sliding doors and into the chilled air. They both moved over to a white SUV, the back door was open and the horse tossed the boy's things into the back before continuing to move into the back seat.

Phillip moved to the other side and opened the door to see two others sitting in the front of the vehicle. The boy slowly got in, as soon as the door was shut the SUV was on the move out of the pick-up area and to what would be Phillip's new home.

"So what's your name?" The human in the driver's seat asked while they pulled onto the highway.

"Phillip." The boy said load enough for them to hear.

The human nodded. "My name is Zach and this brown fuzzy bear is my anthro Xavier." The bear turned around and made brief eye contact with the boy before looking back out the front window. "And the big lug beside you is Hikrit, he's in charge of the unbounded so you'll get to know him real well."

Phillip looked over at the massive horse beside him, the horse was close enough that Phillip could feel the warmth coming off him. Phillip looked back at the human sitting in the front, his long brown hair was down to his shoulders. The boy glanced over at the bear in the passenger's seat and saw that he had muscle but not like the horse beside him but strong none the less. The bear's coat was a lighter brown than most of the bears that he saw.

"You have any questions?" Zach asked.

Phillip turned his attention back to the driver. "How long till we get to the base?"

The human laughed. "About an hour unless we hit traffic." They drove in mostly silence except from a question or two. They rounded a corner and were hit with very heavy traffic. "Okay better make it three hours." The human said in a grumpy tone.

Xavier turned in his seat as much as possible to look back at the small boy. "So what made you choose our guild?"

"I didn't." Phillip replied.

"Hmm, so you just got orders to the guild?" Phillip nodded, "We'll right now you're the only bondless human, we usually don't get humans that haven't bonded but we do once in a while."

"Yeah, especially one so young." The human said while keeping his eyes on the road.

Time seemed to pass slowly as the traffic moved ridiculously slow. Phillip just stared out the window, thinking about what the guild will be like. Xavier and Zach were talking back and forth about something that the boy didn't quite understand, and the horse next to him had drifted off to sleep. Phillip looked over at the black stallion and smiled, finding it a little bit funny how the big horse that was crammed into the back seat had actually fallen asleep.

The boy laid back and closed his eyes, trying to relax and hoping that they would be getting their soon. After closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep, the traffic started to thin out, Zach was able to get the vehicle to up in speed and make it to Bremerton just less than two hours. They just got off the highway when the boy started to wake up with some difficulty with his body pushed up against the door. Phillip tried to push off the door but realized he had a big mass leaning some weight on him. The boy looked over to see Hikrit was still asleep but was leaned up against him. Trying not to wake the horse the boy pushed onto the anthro a little to try and get him to lean the other way. While he was trying he heard some laughing coming from the front seat.

Phillip looked to see Xavier looking at him with a big grin on his face. "Looks like you're having some problems there?"

"Yeah, he just weighs a ton is all." Phillip said quietly while he gave the horse a push.

Hikrit shifted in his sleep a little from the push but ended up cuddling closer to the human. The bear continued to laugh at the boy's situation. "Why don't you just wake him up?"

"Because I don't know if he'll get mad at me or not." Phillip answered as the horse nuzzled him a bit before settling down. "I give." The boy said while resting his head back onto the headrest.

Zach looked into the back mirror with a smile of his own. "Well just hold off a little bit longer, we're almost there."

Phillip looked out the window to see that they were going down one of the back road before coming up to a gate. The guards standing out in front looked at the two in the front seat, Phillip looked closely to see that they were both some kind of feline but he wasn't sure of the breed.

"Back so soon?" One of them joked.

"Oh yeah, picked up a hitchhiker and decided to bring him back with us." Zach said, pointing to Phillip in the back seat. The two guards looked through the window and smiled when they see the big horse still cuddled up close to Phillip.

"So that's the new guy?" The other guard said. Xavier just nodded. "Ok, get going. You know how the lieutenant feels with when it comes to meeting newbies."

"God don't remind me. If he doesn't meet them when they first get here he gets all butt hurt." Xavier said, the four gave out a chuckle before Zach gave the guards a wave good bye and started to drive forward.

Phillip continued to look outside and was amazed to find a village inside the fenced in area. As they drove Phillip seen young anthros running around playing with one another, small shops where fresh meats were being purchased, and small houses all along the road. They drove out of the small village and up the road for a mile before coming up to a gated area that had a brick wall completely surrounding it. Once they dove through the gate they pulled up into a small parking lot on the side of one of the building before getting out.

Xavier walked over and opened the back door, he reached in and gave the big horse a few shakes. "Wake up and get off the human, where here."

Hikrit moaned in protest but did what he was told and got up off the human before getting out of the car. Phillip now was able to get out himself and moved to the back of the SUV to get his things out of the back seat. After putting his travail bag onto his back, he looked up to see Zach waving at him to follow. Phillip just then noticed that the only thing that was different between the two uniforms was that Zach had a pair of wrist guards on. Phillip followed the human as they started to walk to the center of the complex, the boy was looking around but didn't see much to look at, he saw a total of two tall buildings that were five floors high, one massive building and a couple of others. The one thing that really caught his attention was off to the side in between the buildings he seen a large stone arch, each layer of stone had its own symbol that Phillip had never seen before that was glowing a dark blue color.

"What's that?" Phillip asked.

They all looked over to where Phillip was looking. Hikrit let out a small snort. "That would be the gate that connects our world with yours."

"So that's how you get from one world to the other?"

"Yep." Xavier said.

They all continued to walk to the building close to the stone arch. They walked in through the front door and continued down one of the hallways. After make a few turns the boy was lead into a small room with a few chairs.

Xavier gave the human a pat on the shoulder. "Ok, this is where we leave you for now, it was nice to meet you." They all shook hands before the three left. Phillip sat down into one of the seats with his bag on the floor and waited patiently, not really knowing what he should be doing. It wasn't long till the door flew open and a Lab came running in.

"Oh sorry, were you waiting long?" The dog asked, his tail wagging rapidly and had a huge smile on his face. Still shocked by the giddy anthro Phillip shook his head no. "That's good. I'm Lieutenant Bolmic." The dog said as he stuck his paw out.

Phillip stuck his hand out and grasps the paw. "I'm Phi..."

"Your Phillip, I read your files and I'm quite impressed so far." The anthro said while shaking the boys hand to the point Phillip though his arm would be ripped off. The dog looked down at the boy's feet and saw his bag, Bolmic's ears perked up. "They didn't show you where you're staying?"

Phillip shook his head as he pulled his hand back, messaging it. "No not yet."

"Ok, this way." Before Phillip could respond the lieutenant grabbed the boy's belongings and dashed out the doorway.

"What the fuck." Phillip cursed after he started to chase the dog down the hallway and outside the building. They both dashed across the street to one of the tall buildings, after entering Phillip followed the dog up the stairs to the fourth floor and stopped at the first door. Phillip caught up to the anthro and was breathing slightly hard.

"So this is it." The dog said while pushing the door open. The human followed closely behind him. Phillip saw the large room had six rows of five beddings set up but one area that was a cleared spot. He looked over to the wall and seen chests set up along the whole edge. "Sorry, but we don't get bondless humans often so we don't have a human dorm and bondless anthros has to stay on base. I hope you're ok with that." The lab said with his ears back against his head.

"It's fine. How many anthros is in this room?" Phillip asked.

The lab's tail started to wag rapidly. "There is 29 anthros in this room but they are all out on patrol right now, so you'll be the 30th and the last occupant here."

Phillip looked over at the last spot near the middle of the room. "So I guess that's my spot." The lab nodded. The boy walked over and sat his things down, after opening his bag he got out his blankets and pillows and started to make his bed.

Bolmic started to walk around the outer edge of the room, checking every chest till he found the one he was looking for. "This one is yours. You can put the rest of your things inside it."

After Phillip got done unpacking all of his things Bolmic lead the boy out of the barracks and down to road to a small warehouse. After entering they both were hit by very high heat. "This is our smith, we have to get you your own set of wrist guards so everyone knows you're stationed to us." He said as they came up to a lion that wore a heavy leather apron.

The lion turned and gave to dog a bow. "Lieutenant, how can I help you today?"

Bolmic pointed to the small boy beside him. "New human." The lion needed no more info as he got out a measuring tape and took the boy's measurements of his arm.

"I'll have it ready in about two day." The lion announced.

The lab gave him a smile. "Thank you." Phillip also gave the lion his thanks before the two walked off. "Ok, so I'm going to give you your briefing while we walk." Bolmic said, "Your working hours is going to be from six-thirty to three but off on the weekends, that will include weapons training and exercise. After that you will have the rest of the time to do whatever you like but I highly encourage that you go down to the village once in a while."

"Umm, sir. What's with the village anyways?" Phillip asked.

The dog gave out a big sigh. "It's too dangerous to have our loved ones to grow up in our world right now, so to keep them as safe as possible they stay here." Phillip nodded in understanding. "Oh, you're also going to be standing duty about once a week after you get put into a section." The labs voice started to get more serious than his happy giddy voice Phillip has been hearing so far. "If your section ends up going out on patrol then you will need to be ready, sometimes they will be out for days at a time."

Phillip gave the dog a nod, when he looked up at the barracks that they stopped in front of. "Well that should be it, the rest of the day is yours." The boy looked back to the dog, Bolmic stuck his paw back out. "If you have any questions please don't be afraid to ask." Phillip slowly reached out and grasped the paw to have it shook like it was before. After the dog had let go of the human he turned around and started to dashed down the street.

Phillip was rubbing his hand as he turned and decided to explore the area a little, the boy managed to find the sparing grounds and a gym where he was surprised to see a swimming pool and a basketball court. After a little bit more of wandering he managed to find the cafeteria where he could get some food, he walked in to be greeted by a female anthro. She smiled and led him to an empty table. After Phillip sat down he looked around to see that the place was pretty well packed.

"Mind if I join you?" Phillip heard the familiar deep voice.

The boy looked over to see Hikrit standing in front of the table. "Umm...sure." Phillip answered.

The horse pulled out the chair and sat down, soon a female tiger came up to the table. "What can I get you boys?" She said in a soft tone.

Hikrit looked up to her and smiled. "Can I get the Veggie Ravioli and water?" the tiger nodded before looking at the boy.

"Umm...what can I get here?" he asked shyly.

The tiger gave him a big smile. "Your new here?" Phillip gave her a nod. "Well you can pretty much get anything you want."

"Can I get a burger?" He asked.

"Sure, anything on it?" The tiger asked as she wrote down the boy's order.

"Yes, lettuce, pickles, mayo, ketchup and mustard please."

"Sure thing and to drink."

"Waters fine thank you." The boy replied.

After the tiger finished writing down the order while she walked away, leaving the two alone again. "So, what do you think of our lieutenant?" the horse asked.

Phillip shook his head with and rubbed his forehead. "He's something."

"Yeah I know." The horse laughed. "But don't let his giddiness foul you, he has a reason why he's our lieutenant." Phillip sat their letting his mind drift, not noticing he was reading the others. He sat up in his chair and was looking around. "What's wrong?" Hikrit asked.

"I don't know." Phillip said while continuing to look around. "I have this feeling from someone of wanting something."

The horse snorted out laughter. "You're a sensitive little shit aren't you?" the horse asked while pointing to a husky in the back corner.

Phillip turned around to look at the black and white husky, as soon as he made eye contact the dog's ears perked up and a smile came across his face. Phillip smiled back before turning around. "What does he want?" Phillip asked.

The horse motioned for the boy to come closer. Phillip did what he was told and got into whispering distance from the horse. "He wants you."

Phillip let the situation sink in as he sat back into his seat. "Is it because I'm bondless?"

The horse nodded. "I'm going to be honest with you, almost every bondless anthro here is going to be all over you when they find out you're the bondless human if given the chance and they will do what they can to get close to you as possible."

Phillip kept letting his thoughts travel but smiled up at the horse. "At least you're not."

The horse gave out a chuckle. "Who says I'm not."

Phillip looked up at the horse and laughed. The two talked a bit longer about life at the guild till their meal had arrived, after eating and thanking the tiger the two walked outside and parted ways back to their own rooms, it was late by the time Phillip got back to his barracks and managed to find the bathroom that was located next door to the room.

After getting a nice warm shower he got undress down to his underwear and slipped into his bedding, cuddling up into the warm blankets. Even though he slept on the plane and in the car the events from today had still warn him out and sleep came by pretty quick.

..................................................

It was around midnight that Bolmic was outside waiting in front of the arch with a small spirit wrapping itself around his arm. "You sure they're on their way back?" He asked looking down at the growing eel like creature.

The dog's ears twitched as he heard a load crashing sound, he looked up to see a blue light starting to radiate from the center of the arch. The light got bigger and bigger until it consumed the whole clearing. The dog stood patiently as a big lion came out of the light and walked right up to the dog. Bolmic gave the lion a bow.

"Captain." He said.

The lion gave the dog a small nod. "What's the news?" Bolmic stood back up and glanced over the captain's shoulder to see one by one more Users were walking out of the arch and stood into ranks for further instructions. Each one had their weapons and a bag full of anything they needed for a couple of days out on petrol.

"The bondless human is here, other than that nothing really happened." The lab announced.

"Good." The lion said as he turned to the handful of Users "Nice work on the patrol, all is dismissed except for section eight." Everyone one gladly walked off and headed back to their rooms. Section eight stood by and waited patiently until the rest of the other sections were gone. "Ok, you have a bondless human staying in your room." He anthros all started to get excited over the news. "Hey listen up." The lion roared silencing everyone. "That doesn't mean you have permission to sleep with him or touch him without his consent, I want him to feel like we are his family not animals is that understood?" He asked to get nods. "Junior Lieutenant."

A black wolf moved to the front of the group. "Yes, captain."

"Make sure that no one makes the human feel uncomfortable."

The wolf gave the lion a nod before they were all dismissed. Once out of view of the captain most of the anthros pretty much rushed up the steps and into the room, they quietly moved into the room to see a small boy sleeping soundly in his bed.

"Dude he's so young." One said excited.

"I know." Another confirmed.

The black wolf entered the room and placed his equipment by his chest. "Everyone go wash up and get to bed." He receive a bunch of groans, but they all did what they were told and got their items they needed and went off to take a shower. The black wolf got his soap and towel and was ready to leave but stopped for a moment to give the boy one glance before leaving the room. After they all got cleaned up, the anthros got changed into their loin cloths and went to bed. Some continued to talk about their previous patrol but most of them talked about how they wanted to get to know the human or bond. They talked into the late night but eventually all got quiet.

The wolf sat up in his bed and looked back over to the young boy. "This is going to be interesting." He said before he lay back down and curled up into his own blankets.
