Chapter 13: Believe in Miracles

Alex nestled with David on his bed, lying down with his head resting on the bat's lap. David wasn't wearing anything to cover his upper torso. He sighed happily and relaxed with his eyes closed.

David smiled at him kindly "Alex?"

Alex opened his eyes "Yea?"

David leaned down and kissed Alex on the forehead "I love you"

David smirked, "Yea, and its still not old yet". They both laughed and David went on "You've been doing really well with your angel training"

Alex beamed "That's cause I got a great teacher"

Over the days David had been teaching Alex how his powers worked and how to use them properly. When they had started Alex was scared he would do something completely stupid. Though thankfully he didn't. He was actually pretty good at it. David said it was because of instinct, so that was probably why. He'd learnt how to use most of his psychic powers like telepathy and mind reading (that one would defiantly come in handy). He'd learnt how to heal; it was always this bright technicolour light that ran over whatever was broken or wounded and fixed/healed it.

He also learnt how his offensive powers worked, like his sacred petals and his solar beam. It wasn't as strong as David's attacks but Alex's attacks were much faster then David. One of the most important things he learnt was his defensive power. Light was more of a supportive role while Darkness had a bit of a destruction and chaos emblem. His force field held out a long time before David could break if with his strongest attacks.

So basically, Alex was a shield and David was a sword. They had a little sneaky power too. Alex could bend the light around to him to turn him invisible and David could melts into the shadows. Perfect for surprises. They made quite a team, along with being a perfect couple.

David blushed lightly, even though it was still very much visible in his snow-like fur "Hey, you're the one that gets better through practice" he paused a bit and looked away "I have to absorb a soul of the monster I kill to get stronger"

Alex raised an eyebrow "Hey, can you take the soul of a person?"

David shook his head "No, only darkened beings like monsters, vampires, un-dead, fiend and demons"

Alex smiled "Then that just proves you're a good demon, you're like a exorcist"

David smirked at the mouse, as he was always so cheerful. It would take something as bad as his father's situation to bring him at all "Thank you sweetie..."

They a moment of silence, until Alex sat up and faced David, one of his fingers playing and twirling with the fur on David's arm in a flirty way "You know what I really want now?"

David raised an eyebrow, smiling slyly "What would that be?"

Alex leaned in closer, so their chests touched "I want you to kiss me, tear my clothes off and take me as hard as you possibly can" rubbing his mate's crotch through the material.

David murred and pulled Alex on his lap, "Oh you do, do you?" returning the crotch rubbing gesture and nuzzling the neck of the other affectionately "I'll consider it..."

Alex tilted his head "What's that?"

David blinked; his clothes turned darker and eventually vanished in a black flash "The power to turn your clothes into your essence..." he smiled slyly

Alex blinked, subconsciously doing the same, and immediately felt an erection being pressed to his own "Now THAT is a power we're gona be using a lot" he smiled cutely, murring.

David nodded "Indeed" he gently pushed Alex back onto his back so he was on top "Now, you said something about wanting to be taken?" he wanted Alex to beg, humping their members together.

Alex spoke up "Batty...will you come with me to see my dad tomorrow before school?"

David nodded "Of course"

It was currently Saturday and school started again on Monday. Alex wanted to see how his dad was doing before they plunged back into work.

Alex looked down "Do you really think we can cure him?"

David nodded and kissed the back of Alex's head "I don't think, I know"

Alex found himself standing in front of the large white hospital building for the second time in the holidays. He stared at the big glass sliding doors for a moment before walking towards them. They opened slowly and closed behind him.

Alex was afraid of what he might see. I mean, if you had a virus that was going to kill you, you would look different right? Even though David was right next to him, holding his hand, he was still scared. They walked up to the counter and asked for 'Maxwell Trout'. The receptionist pointed out room 16 on the 15th floor. He thanked her and walked to the elevator.

As they waited for the elevator David said "Alex, its going to be ok, don't be scared about this kind of thing, no matter what your dad is gonna get through it" he paused and held the paw linking them tighter "With our help of course"

The elevator dinged open and they stepped inside, press the button labelled '15' and the doors closed again.

Alex leaned against the wall "I know but..."

David leaned forward and kissed Alex gently "I want you to ban the word 'but' from your vocab ok? It makes you negative"

Alex blinked and nodded "Ok"

The doors opened and they the walked down the hallway, looking for the room and found it. Slowly Alex opened the door and looked inside. His father was sleeping, wired to a coupled of machines humming slowly. He didn't look different in any way, though he was squirming in his sleep.

They walked inside and Alex was going to say something before David put a finger on his lip

Alex blinked in surprise but remained silent. David stared very, very, very carefully at his father. His eye's had turned red.

Alex blinked more in confusion "What's wrong?"

David sighed and whispered "Disease my foot, your dads been infected with a nightmare"

Alex's eye's shot open. Nightmare...Nightmare...where had he heard that before...then he remembered. "You mean that horse demon thing?"

David nodded "Yea, we need to get him out now while it's working" he paused "I'll get it out and when it becomes visible, I want you to shoot it with your 'Divine Radiance' attack, ok?"

Alex blinked a few more times, trying to take it in, before nodding. David walked over to his lover's father and placed a paw on his chest, muttering "Dark horse that invades one's dreams...show yourself"

There was a cloud of enveloping black smoke before a horse-like image appeared out of it, chains for a tail, spikes for a mane and its body looked like it was made out of coals.

Alex hesitated out of fright, but pulled himself together and raised his paws up. Little columns of light surrounded the figure until its whole body turned white, then vanished into thin air.

David breathed out "Whew" he looked back at Alex, who was still a bit terror-stricken "Well, looks like your dads gonna be fine now"

Alex smiled broadly and hugged the bat as tight as he could "What would I do without you?"

They smiled at each other and then gazed that Alex's father. He had not woken up but his squirming had stopped, plastering a peaceful expression on his face. The couple stared at the elder man for quite a while before deciding it was time to leave. Not by them but since visiting hours were over.

Alex was relieved, more than that he was overjoyed. He was actually glad he and David were the way they were. If they weren't, his father would have probably died from something neither of them knew about. If they worked together there really was nothing they couldn't do...as corny as it sounded.

'Mental note' though Alex as they rode the elevator down to the bottom floor 'Ban word 'but' from vocabulary'
