Ch. 2.5

"Subject Three has failed us again." The calm voice of the female came over the radio once again. The rooms atmosphere hadn't improved any since the last conversation. There were books on the desk now. Some were open lying neatly on the desk in a row. Among the pages, one would see various charts of genetic codes and diagrams. The coyote closed one of the books and sighed.

"Report on her position." He waited for a few seconds and after no response spoke again. "Her position, Greene." His voice had more authority to it than last time.

"Unknown." Greene's voice was quiet. The coyote was shaking his head slowly.

"Find her and Nine. Within the month. Was Subject Three captured?"

"No sir. She was nowhere to be found before or after the incident." The coyote looked over to the radio growling.

"She must be found before the year is up." His attention turned to two calendars. One was turned to October and the other to February of next year.
