Sam Danvers.

The child of an elder dragon and his elven pet. Sam was the first half breed to be born. For his own protection his parents cast a spell to disguise their baby as an newborn elf and gave him to one of the elven monasteries, to be raised as a foundling, until he was old enough to protect himself from knights and other dangers.
Unfortunately , the monastery Sam was given to allowed the local order of knights to adopt foundlings. Sam remained at the monastery for a few years before, the knights claimed him, along with all the other young elves of suitable age and health.
Like the other youths Sam trained night and day in all the things a knight would be required to know: Chivalry, Swordsmanship, How to use and care for his armour and of course magic.
Despite the fact that his assigned tasks should have taken him all day, his instructors often found Sam reading, resting or learning something new and irrelevant. The maesters couldn't complain as Sam never shirked his tasks and never did a bad job, so eventually they just left him to it.
Young Sam had trouble making friends, his arrogance at being better than the other trainees earned him enemies and as a result he was often in fights with other boys and was often passed over for squiring because of this.
Eventually at 14 Sam was chosen as a squire for Ser Tyson of Laudinum to accompany him and his apprentice Alfred (Sam's rival from training and the first person picked to squire from his calss)
Their venture went smoothly until they entered the dragons known terratory. Sam began to get a prickly feeling in his stomach and began to sweat profusely. The symptoms got gradually worse as they neared the nest, by the time they pitched camp, Sam's clothes were sodden with sweat.
Before he knew what was going on Sam grabbed the sleeping knights sword and butchered him with it. As he stared in horror at what he'd just done, Alfred emerged from his tent seeing Sam covered in the knights blood, he charged at Sam wrestling him to the ground.
As the two wrestled, Sam's enchantment faded, stripping the elven guise from him. Suddenly fighting an opponent 2ft smaller and 30Kg lighter, Sam threw his opponent off him and ran.
Sam ran and ran, until he could run no more. He'd ended up in the shifting desert planes at the centre of the continent. There he lived for four years, surviving as best he could whilst coming to terms with himself.
After a longer than normal run Sam was forced to seek shelter from a sandstorm in nearby caves. Sam wasn't the only occupant of those caves. Inside he met an elder dragon. Luckily for Sam, this dragon was more curious than threatened by Sam's presence.
In exchange for his story the elder (Stonetooth as he called himself) offered to teach Sam everything about his draconic heritage and enhance his knowledge of other topics along with his magic . Sam of course agreed and for six months he stayed with Stonetooth learning from the wise old dragon.
During the six months they spen together Stonetooth was able to use his own knowledge along with the information Sam had given him to work out who Sam's true parents were.
When Stonetooth Sam wasted no time, he bid stonetooth a fond farewell and set off for the the riverlands, where his parents where nesting.
Sam wasn't the only one heading to the riverlands. Alfred had become a knight and had rallied as many other knights as possible to him, with the sole purpose of killing the last few dragons in the riverlands.
Sam reached them first, just in time to catch a fleeting glimpse of them leaving through an interdimensional portal.
At that point Alfred showed up with his band of knights, enraged that his quarry had fled. Alfred turned his wrath upon the nearest living creature which his magic revealed to be Sam.
Alfred's rage grew as he saw Sam, "the betrayer". Alfred challenged Sam to an honourable duel to avenge his fallen master. Sourrounded by knights Sam had no chance but to accept.
The duel was short and swift Alfred was the better swordsman but Sam was faster, stronger and didn't follow traditional swordplay. Though Alfred put up a good fight, scaring Sam above his left eye, the outcome was inevitable Alfred fell to the floor mortally wounded.
With his dying breath Alfred cursed Sam. To wander eternally and to never find a home.
The combination of Alfreds curse and powerful draconic magic collided and Sam vanished. The remaining knights went home
Sam didn't die, he was simply transported across the galaxy to another planet.
When Sam awoke he was in the middle of a desert sourrounded by strange people wearing strange clothes and wielding strange weapons. Sam was later rescued by a group of Wasteland rangers who upon discovering his magical past to the mages university at the capital of Isen.
The masters of the university decided that what had happened to Sam was not his fault and that provided he acclimatised he was more than welcome.
It took Sam a while to successfully aclimatise to Isen life, but after he did a small bit of magic which improved his personality removing most of his arrogance he found it easier to get along and made friends.
Sam passed of university and joined the rangers, partly out of gratitude and partly because it just felt right.
On his 100th Ranging Sam encountered another dragonkin, identical to himself in all ways except gender. Using his confusion against him the other dragonkin was able to stun Sam.
After he regained consciousness, the other dragonkin introduced herself as Samantha and proceeded to viciously rape and enslave Sam. He was her sex Slave for two years, before she vanished mysteriously.
After his two years of enslavement to Samantha Sam returned to the rangers and was promoted to their upper echelons. Not long after, Sam was contacted by the government and informed about the other duties of high ranking rangers. Government assassins.
Currently Sam is still a high ranking member of the rangers and is often out in the deserts surrounding New Isen. In his time off however Sam works as a freelance contractor offering his services to the government or individuals. Sam quickly earned a reputation for his politeness, efficiency and that he always got the job done.

The world Sam lives in is populated by anthromorphic characters who used to be human but after their first thaumatological war all humans became anthro's. The world itself is divided the main continent is split between large sprawling cities which unite magic and technology, these glimmering jewels stand out against the deserts that make up the rest of the continent. The law abiding people live in the cities and their auxiliary villages in the safe 2 mile radius. The deserts are inhabited by tribes of raiders that subsist on what they can grow/raid from other tribes or cities. These tribes are made up of criminals who have fled the cities and are lying low, exiles and criminals being punished.
The rangers in this are a combination between the NCR veteran rangers in FMV and the night watch in A song of ice and fire.
The rangers job is to keep explore the desert looking for anything pre war and to hunt down the worst of the criminals escaping to the desert and generally make sure the tribes aren't uniting and keeping things under control. Often with will placed .50calibre bullets or magic.
Samantha Danvers

Samantha Danvers, is Sam Danvers' alternate personality. Unlike Sam she is controlling, dominant and like Sam she can be utterly ruthless.
Samantha was unintentionally created by Sam at the university of Isen in magic training, in a failed attempt to improve his personality, it sort of work he became less arrogant but he also became submissive.
Due to an ongoing series of accidents where Sam ended up switching gender, the entity that would become Samantha gradually grew stronger, in time it would associate itself with being female, and gradually began to take over whenever Sam became female.
Samantha has greater control over her magic than Sam and can do complex spells such as gender swapping and time travel.
Samantha is more than often a purely instinctual creature and often gives in to her baser desires.
She also doesn't know that she and Sam are the exact same entity, which is why he intrigues her and often enslaves him partially to assuage her desires but also so she can work out why she's drawn to this creature that looks like her.
Azura Nocturne

Azura Nocturne was born a princess and the eldest daughter of the king of the sea. As was tradition she was raised a princess and taught the ways of the priesthood, so when she came of age she became high priestess.
Unfortunately for the sharks the last 2 0 years of peace between the DULS and the UPR ended. adn the war took to the waves
The peaceful and primitive sharks got the worst of it, their underwater cities and villages, were often caught in the middle of a naval encounter. The few lucky sharks that survived the battle were often rescued by their fellows or by DULS salvage and science ships.
Azura was one of the lucky ones. She was rescued less than 24 hours after the biggest naval battle of the war occurred on top of her city. The wreckage, and missed shots from the battle landed atop the helpless city decimating it's population.
Soon after the DULS Kelvin found the injured shark clinging to the floating remains of a UPR cruiser. The scientists took the poor girl aboard and whisked her back to shore for medical attention.
Her wounds were so severe Azura spent the next year and a half in hospital recovering. By the time her wounds had healed, the war was over. Neither side had won but the sharks had lost, their cities destroyed and their population decimated.
Azura was only 15
Having nothing to return to but a broken home and dead to bury Azura decided to stay with the DULS kelvin and her crew, who had always visited the poor shark. On board she found herself helping the scientists, learning from them as she watched them go about their work, after they taught Azura how to read and write they gave her a base IQ test and discovered that her Iq was well within genius level "196".
It turned out that Azura was not just a genius with her brain but also with machines. Thanks to her skills at jury rigging the Kelvin, it kept working, even when most engineers said it should have been scrapped long ago.
Azura's tragedy hadn't ended yet. Having just gotten over the loss of her family and home and found a new one. It was cruelly ripped away from her again. The Kelvin was the first victim of the war when it was attacked after it detected a fleet of illegal UPR submarines, these submarines were part of the first attack wave. They couldn't have the DULS know about the attack so they sunk the Kelvin. Azura was the only survivor escaping on the resupply jet and carrying word to the high command.
Enraged at the loss of her new family, she enlisted in the flying corps as a fighter pilot. Azura quickly made a name for herself, thanks to her high Iq she was able to predict most of her opponents moves and shoot them down accordingly. In the six years she was flying, Azura never lost a sortie and was only shot down three times by enemy AA.
Unfortunately after some of her more extreme modifications to her plane and multiple incidents of experimenting on military personnel, she was fired and went to work for the DULS bureau of advanced science, where she spent ten years happily advancing science. Until one day she just vanished.
Many theories abound ranging from "she left" "she finally perfected that invisibility cloak" or the most prevalent one that she was killed by one of her experiments.
The truth is Azura finished converting an old bomber to a space capable machine. The current ship little resembles her original design and is crewed by a few of Azura's old squadron mates who share her passion for science.

Azura's world is inhabited by four sentient species.
The bears, they inhabit the northen lands and are at near constant war with the dogs for control of the land
The dogs inhabitants of the southern lands at constant war with the bears in self defence.
The eagles: peaceful sky dwellers, who recently joined forces with the dogs after the bears began looking to dominate the sky as well.
The sharks: peaceful seas dwellers caught in the midst of the war.
DULS Democratic union of land and sky: the alliance between the eagles and the dogs to protect them selves from the aggression of the BRP
UPR: Ursine peoples revolution. the society of the bears has a strong communist basis and seeks domination over all of the planet (valentia)
