The Chronicles of the Knights: 3
#1 of Knight
Under the night skies, Brandon was still sleeping, the power of his newly found Knight proving to much for him when he and Grim help save the human, who told Grim once they settle down that his name was Ceratius.
"So Ceratius," Grim asked while taking a bit out of the meat he cooked for the three of them, just in caseBrandonwas to awaken. "Who are these Magi, and why are they after you and now Brandon?" the human sighed and lowered his meat so he could speak.
"The Magi," he started while closing is eyes. "Are a group of humans who still follow the way of the Ancients way of life, they strongly believe in how the world now should only be ruled by humans ever since the Great Change over a thousand years ago."
"Yes I read about that," Grim nodded his head as the dragon pondered. "Some how many of the monsters fused their bodies with the humans, granting them new forms, wars went on for hundreds of years until at last a peace was sighed."
"That's right," Ceratius answered with a nod. "You see, a few years before the Great Change, a war raged one with the Knights, the five true Knights, The Yshrenian Empire held the Sun King, a Knight who was said to be impossible to destroy because of it's gold amour, and the Black Knight, able to fly in the air, they battled for the other three Knights, who were trying to stop them from taking over the world which was ranging ten million years in the past!" he took another breath. "Anyway, after that battle was won, the five Knights were sealed away, never to be seen or heard from again, but, the scholars around the world started to make their own Knights, much like how Brandon got his, not as powerful as the Knights of five, but still powerful all the same."
"And these Magi...they want you two because..."
"We are humans," he answered. "They want all the humans to live under their rule, one way or another." They both heard a slight moan asBrandonsat up, eyes blinking he looked around.
"I smell food..." Grim chuckled and passed him a cook meat as the black hair human began to eat. After telling him when Ceratius was telling the dragon,Brandonnodded. "Well," he answered. "The only thing we can do now is try to stop them from killing a lot more people and taking other humans right?"
"Us?" asked Grim. "Look, we are not soldiers; we can't just go off and fight a whole army!"
"And we can't just sit by and allow them to kill hundred of thousands can we?" Grim grumbled, but knewBrandonspoke true words. "Anyway...I had this weird dream."
"Dream?" asked Ceratius asked asBrandonnodded.
"Yeah, it was weird...I saw this large white Knight, a shield that was purple and pulsing, and all I kept hearing was, 'find Wizel...find Wizel.'" He shook his head. "Whatever that means."
"Wizel was the White Knight," Grim answered while taking the bite of his meat. "And the one that held the sword that could beat the Sun King."
"I never heard the name before so I wouldn't have known."
All was silence for a while, until Ceratius spoke.
"How do you feel?" he asked asBrandonanswered.
"Drained," he shook his head again looking at his shaking hands.
"Being a Knight takes a lot out of the Pacemaker, it will be a while, but you'll soon learn how to go much longer then a few moments." Grim looked over at the new human, his eyes once more going to the glove that held the Gem on the back hand, he gave a slight hum, but other then that didn't say anything. The three all agreed that they needed to turn in for the night, Grim took the turn of being the en who would stay up and watch for anything, and when morning came, they all packed up to start to leave.
"You should really come with us," Grim answered as Ceratius looked over at him in confusion. "If the Magi are after you and Brandon because of you two being human, being alone would be an easy target." Crossing his arms slightly, his clothing looking more like a bandit clothing, he closed his eyes as he thought for a while,Brandonwas busy packing up the stuff and when done he came over, Ceratius then nodded his head.
"You are right," he answered with a nod again. "Maybe being around with more then me will be better."
"That's right," the large sword wielding human spoke while walking up to him. "Also...what was that fire tail lizard name?"
"Oh him..." closing his eyes he tried to remember the name. "He calls himself Scorch Wildfire, he's one of the three commanders of the Magi forces, though he is one of the weakest of the three, he is not to be taken lightly."
"Three?" asked Grim as the human nodded.
"Yes, the other two are Herasha, she holds a bow as her choice of weapon, and can kill anyone from any sort of length, let us be lucky we don't run into her anytime soon. The last and strongest of the three is known as Cryus, he holds these swords that he uses as duel weapons, one of them being a wakizashi and the other being a katana. Also he has this new crossbow that can shoot many arrows before he has to stop and refill them."
"A Semi Bow,"Brandonsighed. "Only a few of those are made, and they are hard to get I heard. But enough of that," he waved his hand off. "We'll deal with them when the time comes; right now we need to get to the Nordia Tunnels, so let's get to it!"
The group now growing, they made their way into the tunnels, filled with twists and turns, they at times came to a dead end or an ambush of large blue spiders. Thanks to Grim's and Ceratius's skills in magic, they were able to get though these foes with ease, when they would come to the leader of the group of spiders, Brandon would step in, transforming into his Knight form and killing the oversize bug with ease. They would stop for a bit, Ceratius using his healing magic to mend any wounds they had gotten while also sharing some of his powers withBrandonto allow him to get back in the fight. Being in the caves for almost an hour, a small sobbing cry filled the air as the three stopped to listen, the cry sounded so sad, a few hiccups would follow, and when they came closer and closer to the sounds, they found that it was a small child, a pure white dragoness girl.
Her clothes were ripped in some places, and until Grim who had horns, she had black hair and black feather wings, a dragon who mastered the power of the wind around them. Before her were two more wind dragons, dead and bleeding, the bodies looked fresh, maybe a few hours old. The dragoness was nudging at the mother dragon, on her knees weeping. The three looked to each other and sheathed their weapons or returned it into a glove and walked closer, the girl hearing them, turned and stepped back crying louder holding onto her mother's and father's arm.
"Hey, hey,"Brandonanswered kneeling down. "We mean you no harm little one, we are friends." Her eyes traced over the human, then to his sword, he saw that's she was looking at it and then unclipped it and slowly pulled it toward the floor sliding it to the side. "See, I'm unarmed, no need to be afraid, now tell me; what happened?"
"We..." the young girl spoke while still hiding behind her mother and father. "We were on our way to meet my auntie and uncle in Albana, when men in black armour attacked us!" she shivered and looked to her mother again. "Mommy told me to hide and I did...and now she and daddy won't get up...are...are they dead?"Brandonfelt a lump in his throat, chocking back his own sobs he softly nodded. The girl crying harder asBrandonwent over slowly and pulled her into a hug, the dragon girl hugging him back as the other two made their way over.
"Guys, we have to bring her with us."
"Are you nuts?!" Ceratius nearly screamed. "Having a kid with us will be bad...very bad, we can't fight and defend her at the same time."
"And we can't just leave her here as well friend," Grim answered looking at the girl as she hugged into the human's chest that was holding her. "We should bring her with us, withBrandon's Knight and our skills in sword play and magic, we can easily keep her safe."
"I still think this is a bad idea!" he cried throwing his hands in the air before sighing. "But you're right...fine, but I say we bury her folks first, it might attract unwanted quest sooner or later."
While Brandon held the girl, Ceratius made two graves by moving the earth with his magic, Grim then taking both the dragons an slowly laying them in the grave, the girl then went closer when Brandon placed her down, looking at her mother and father one last time before kissing their cheeks and ran back to Brandon who picked her up again. The two wind dragons buried, the group of four made it outside, the desert now seen before them.
Meanwhile, far off in the middle of the ocean, an island that was uncharted by any map had many ships docked all around it, a large tower in the middle surrounded by many other smaller ones. On the towers, marks of the Knights were easily seen. The orange lizard with the fire on his tail made his way into his mistress chambers, a large chair with spikes on the top easily seen and had its back turned to him. Scorch then bent down on one knee and bowed.
"You have failed me Wildfire," the voice of the female was heard, not showing a bit of her body or anything. "You know I don't like failures, or when I don't get what I want..."
"I...I am sorry my Mistress," Scorch kept his head down, though he did not like taking orders from a female, he knew that she could easily kill him. "But I had no idea that the human had a Knight, it was a...surprise."
"Yes, I saw the whole thing, let me ask you something...why didn't you use your own Knight yourself and bring them to me hrm?"
"You told us to bring any human back to us alive..."
"No back talk!" she screeched as the fire tail lizard shrike back slightly. "There is a reason why I want the humans, because they are the only ones who can awaken the Five, once we have them, if they join us good, but if not, we will kill them so that yourself, the other two and of course I can hold these Knights! We already have four of them, but the last one is...proving more of a hassle." She hummed softly, the sound of claws clicking easily heard. "I will give you one more chance; you said they were on their way to the tunnels yes?"
"Yes Mistress..."
"Good, the only city close to that would be Albana, go there, and bring me the two at any cost...not by death I should say."
"As you wish Mistress..." again he bowed and then turned to leave.
"Oh and Scorch?" the lizard turned around to see the face of his leader looking back at him, a flash of teeth gleaming at him. "If you fail, I will kill you myself."
( This story idea was inspired by the great game White Knight Chronicle 1 and 2 I take no hold on the Gigas or the Knights or the Magi. Grim belongs to Grim Shadowfang the Ceratius belongs to EvraMalygos the Scorch belongs to keyblademaster08 andBrandon belongs to me!)
