PART SEVENTY ONE.
E ntering the city entailed a journey though the famous but vast arch way entrance took a good five minutes, just from looking at the ancient stone it was built just like the walls to hold out against just about anything a Pokémon could through at it which considering the stories of Sir Anthro and his maniacal reign would explain a lot. Jack doubted even a barrage of hyper beam attacks could break through the outer wall let alone the inner wall, along with a monstrous gate that was twice his thick as he was wide he shuddered at the power needed to get through it.
“It feels as they want to keep us pokémon out"
Lucy spoke up in a hesitant voice, her eyes running along the all most tunnel like entrance, the only light such as it was, came from lamps fitted between twelve-inch-wide slots in the curved walls where numerous portcullises would have once dropped drown from the ceiling to block off any and all passage to or from the city itself.
“That's because back when we Human's came to this region that exactly what they wanted or at least the guy in charge did, he despised pokémon because they would not submit themselves to his rule, if anything they began to free those humans subjugated to his insane cruelty, it was act of defiance by the pokémon that fuelled his hatred even more."
Jack mused as they walked along the pavement while some car tootled along casually along the road way, a small child's face was pressed against glass in the back with an excited expression as they waved at his pokémon companions. Oni waved back giving a toothy fang filled smile back to them, making the child's face light up even more before the vehicle moved out of view further down the road. Lucy meanwhile flung her arms around her trainer's arm wanting to ask more questions but didn't wish to pester her beloved human by doing so, her eyes looked up at him as if he was some legendary knight in shining armour, and she was his damsel that had been saved from some viscous terrible Garchomp intent upon defiling or even devouring her.
Jack suddenly felt Bunny clamp her arms around his other arm unwilling to let the Lucy hog him to herself, he could feel two sets of inhuman heads against his arms as they walked through into the light of day causing everyone to shield their eyes for a second well save for jack who had to look away since neither Lopunny nor Lucario would give up their hold upon his arms. The buildings looked the same as back in their hay day way back to the fifteenth century, with modern technology to make things more comfortable. It was as if current day had merged with tudor england, where building where white washed while the exposed timbers had been painted in pitch for weather proofing against the elements. The rooftops had become a mixture of browns from age or in some places reddish orange from being newly replaced the whole appearance of each building though was the different designs of clay chimney pots; each one different in there individual aesthetic design but still performing the same function required from them. Roads wound through out city having taken the place of the cobblestone that would have once been, electric street lamps towered of the streets as they stood sentry to repel the darkness of night. But for some reason the old and new seemed to meld together perfectly in a way that normally would just clash.
From what Jack could remember Forest City had once the capital of the Anthro Region, though eight decades ago the regional government had decided otherwise, there had been a major out cry about this yet the powers that be at the time still went ahead with it. Since then people had just become used to the change that or the people voted into power had neither desire nor the interest to cause such a considerable disruption to the region for a second time.
“Let's get registered at the Pokémon centre, we'll scout the gym and make an application to challenge today before we battle it's leader tomorrow"
He noted, upon receiving no complaints they followed the signs leading to the nearest Pokémon centre, a city as big as this would have a number of them throughout the city with the cities Pokémon Gym at the centre. Generally, one would be located north, east, south and west of the gym itself to give coverage for a city of this size. This was mostly to allow both the people of the city along with those visiting trainers, fair access to medical care for their Pokémon. It took a fair while to reach the east wood pokémon centre but a digital sign in the window showed they were out of overnight rooms, so six of them continued on following the signs to the west wood centre where the sign showed they still had twenty-three rooms still available. The centres in the city appeared to the eye like a fusion of a pokécentre and a hotel though it was understandable why it would need to be what with so many people living or coming to the city to challenge the city gym leader.
"Hate to be the gym leader for this city, not with all the challengers they have to deal with!"
Oni noted, every one agreed silently with a nod in unison which attracted a few odd looks to be directed their way from the packed lobby, to the left of the reception desk was small pokémart while to the right a large pokémon treatment complex with a small army of Audino's rushing about in what appeared to be organised chaos while a team of five Nurse Joy's could be seen every now and then amongst the constant motion of people with their pokemon.
“Stay close girls!"
Jack noted firmly, taking a deep breath he joined the cue leading to the main desk, form what he could tell there was at least twenty other people with ten more lining up behind him. Time seemed to slow to a crawl as frustrations from other pokémon being forced to wait in line with their trainer grew, above the long reception desk the digital display screen showed the latest news with subtitles since the sound was muted. Focusing upon this helped to ease the long excruciating wait.
To pass the time Lucy, Oni, Bunny and Blaze began making plans while their Jack was preoccupied, Toph as always remined inside her ball snoozing away quite aloof to everything as well as everyone.
Oni: “** So tonight no funny business we get some sleep for the battle tomorrow!"**
Bunny: “But I wanted my turn to fuck jack!"
Blaze: “Hey don't be such a crass slut your embarrassing lucy!"
Bunny: “But I haven't had his dick in me since that bunnarie incident!"
Lucy: “What incident is that, did it involve bunny evolving to a Lopunny?"
Oni: “oh trust me some pokémon got to evolve last night all right!"
Blaze: “Yeah we don't talk about that night much, we dropped the ball on that one"
Bunny: “Wait, I'm no slut, I just have a have a passing interest in Humans is all!"
Oni: “Coming from little miss human fetish!"
Bunny: “HEY!...IT'S NOT…A…FETISH!"
Blaze: “Oh no?......Then what about that other human you turned into a poképhile then?"
Oni: “Damn!....remember that Absol?"
Blaze: “Hey how can I forget, she bit of more than she could chew on that night, I swear when she left she was staggering!"
There was laughter from all but Lucy who just looked confused, the confusion swiftly turned to shock and embarrassment when the others filled her in on every last bit of juicy detail as the poor Lucario quivered with supressed urge to suddenly present herself to her trainer, to have him mate with her right there in front of every one.
Oni: “Smell that, seems like some ones up for some poké on human action!"
Bunny: “Don't tease her like that, don't worry Lucy I know just how your feeling right now!"
Blaze: “Slut.....your always feeling like, THAT!"
Bunny: “Like you can talk, southern fried chicken leg!"
Oni: “Girls, Girls chill it, once we win the battle tomorrow we can all have a ride on the Jack Train, we can all get a good portion of that delicious egg fertilising batter!"
At this point the four of them nodded and looked up at Jack with wicked mischievous grins that had he noticed would have made him more than a tad bit uncomfortable.
