The Squall: Chapter two
#3 of The Squall
You know the whole copyright mumbo jumbo. Again I apologize about the length.
Tina was lying down on the couch, flipping through the channels for something that would lighten her spirits, but unfortunately was failing miserable at it.
"When will that storm end? I want to go back to the beach."
Shortly after the two girls had fallen asleep in the sun, they were woken buy the sound of thunder and other furs complaining about their fun ending early. Jessica was at her art desk, drawing away to pass the time.
"No worries. I'm sure it will pass soon"
"I hope so, this is so BORING."
After a few more minutes of channel surfing, Tina had given up and decided to join her friend. Besides not finding anything good to watch, the idea of channel "surfing" itself was making her miss the beach even more. She peeked over Jessica's shoulder to get a glimpse at her latest. What she saw took her by surprise. The subject of Jessica's latest work was Shaun, the human featured in 90% of her work, but that wasn't what disturbed Tina. What disturbed her was the fact that her friend had decided to draw him in the middle of a sea storm. He was in the water, struggling to swim away from his capsizing boat and more importantly, the mast, which was heading right for him. If it was someone else, this wouldn't have bothered her, but this was the first time she had seen something like this coming from the drawing hand of her friend.
"Um, Jess? Why the sudden change in tone?"
The husky jumped up in shock at the sudden question before quickly trying to hide the picture.
"Whatever do you mean?"
"Don't play with me. I saw the picture, now explain."
The look of defeat appeared on the husky's face, as she handed her friend the picture, who
began to study it as if her life depended on it.
"I don't understand why you would draw something like this. Your pictures are always uplifting and bright but never this. And why would you make your favorite character the victim of such an event?"
"I-I can't explain it."
Tina didn't budge as she looks on at her friend, a stern look on her face. The type of look that mothers gave to their cubs when they did something wrong and were waiting for an explanation.
"Ok, when I fell asleep, I had a dream. I dreamt that I was flying high above the ocean. The feeling of the wind on my fur as I flew, it was amazing. It's no wonder winged dragons and other avian anthros prefer to fly, than walk or drive. As I flew, I noticed a boat coming towards me. I figured I'd have some fun, and dive bomb it to see the look on the occupants face."
Tina was giggling like crazy. It was always fun for her, to listen to other people dreams. But when she noticed the look on her friends face, she stopped.
"But as I got closer, I noticed that it wasn't a type of boat I've never seen before. I flew closer to get a look but when I saw who was driving it."
Jessica's face went vacant, the memory of it having a profound effect on her. Tina's pleas for her to continue brought her back to reality.
"Well? Who was driving?"
Jess said nothing as she pointed to the picture her friend was holding. Tina looked down then quickly looked back up to her friend. As she was about to ask what she was talking about before she froze. She looked back and fourth between the art and its artist.
"You mean?"
"That's right. Shaun was the one I saw. I tried to get his attention, not caring about what his reaction would be to see a being he never saw before, let alone a flying one. I yelled as loud as I could, but he didn't hear. I decided to just watch him instead. Landing on the boat, I took a seat right next to him. Oh, the rush that I felt when I realized who I was with, it was indescribable."
"Go on, go on"
Tina in the blink of an eye had gone from a giggling school girl, to a preschooler, her eyes pleading with her to continue.
"So there I was, just watching him fish, not caring if he could see me or not when I heard the familiar sound of thunder. I thought it was nothing until it had gotten worse, really fast. I knew something was up as I watched him start to struggle with the boat. And that's when it I saw it, a huge wave coming right for us. I tried to get his attention but he didn't hear me. I started to run to him to see if there was some other way to help, but it was too late. I saw him go into the water and at the same time something pulled me back into the air. I tried to get to him but I couldn't move. That's when I noticed the second wave hit the boat, causing it to capsize. I noticed the mast of the ship and the target it was heading for, so I tried again to yell but it was too late. And that's when I woke up."
Tina was lost for words. She just looked on at her friend solemnly. It was then; Jess began to break down in tears.
"I don't think I can ever forget the look on his face when it happened."
Jess then felt herself being embraced by finned arms as she let the tears come out.
"It's alright, it was just a dream. What I can't understand is, if it upset you this much, then why would you want to draw it?"
"I don't know. I-I thought that if I get it on paper, then hide it somewhere, I could forget it. But I guess it didn't work. The funny thing is I don't know why I'm even crying over a fictional character."
"I guess it just something in you reminding you how much you truly care for your work."
"Yeah, maybe your right."

Shaun felt the sun rays beat down his face as he woke from the earlier events that happened to him. I tried to remember exactly what happened when it all came pouring back to him.
"What the hell am I going to d-ouch."
He placed the hand on his head and grimaced when his fingers ran along the very nasty bump on his head. He replayed the events over and over again. He remembered the blow to the head as another wave of pain hit him.
"Man, I thought I could take blows to the head, but not anymore. What was the deal with that light?"
After takeing the blow, he felt himself begin to lose consciousness as he began his decent to the ocean floor. Just before he blacked out he remembered a great flash of light and then nothing.
It was then he realized he was on land. Getting to his feet he began to noticed that he wasn't on a deserted island and in fact a popular area for vacation goers, judging from all the hotel buildings. He was surprised to see that no one was on the beach until he noticed that it was closed due to a storm. He walked off the beach as quickly as he could so as not to get in trouble. He walked until he heard some voices around the corner.
"Excuse me could you tel...."
He quickly ducked out of sight before the people he asked saw him. His heart was pounding and the eyes were bulging out his head. Whoever he saw around the corner, he knew no scientist could ever explain.
"Where in the hell am I"
Shaun heard to voices getting closer and quickly ducked back behind one of the nearby bushes. When he saw the two beings he got a better look at them He noticed that they had very human characteristics but were not in fact human. One of them was about 7 feet tall and had black and brown fur covering his entire body, his muzzle very pronounced and his ears painting straight up. He recognized the figure as a Doberman. The next being confused him even more. She was a good 13 feet tall, her leathery tail matching half her height. He looked up at her face and instantly recognized the facial features of a T-Rex. He noticed her smile was filled with razor sharp teeth and kept quite, not sure what she would do with them if she were to see him. Of course the male part of him couldn't help but glance at her figure, noticing the curves of her muscular body.
"Snap out of it man, you in an alien world. You got to find a way to get home." He told himself as he kept trying to figure out how he got here in the first place, until it hit him.
"That light. That light was what brought me here, but why?"
He decided that he needed to find a place to hide and fast before he was spotted and made into a science experiment. He quickly got out from behind the bushes and ran as fast as he could, hoping that he wouldn't be spotted. As soon as he rounded the corner, he immediately bumped into another person. Due to the person being a bit bigger than he was he immediately fell to the ground, hitting the sore spot on his head. As he began to fall back into unconsciousness, the last thing he saw was someone covered in Grey and White fur.

After Jessica recovered from her emotional breakdown, she and Tina decided to head out for a little walk. They knew the beach was still closed even though the storm had passed but they decided to head down there anyway.
"Starting to feel better?"
"Yes, I am. Thank you. I guess a little fresh air is all I nee-OOF!"
Before she could finish, Jessica felt someone run into her, almost causing her to fall backwards. Tina didn't notice the oncoming person as she had he attention focused on her friend. Jessica was about to tell the person off for not paying attention, when she noticed who it was that bumped into her.
Tina's eyes were on the brink of exiting her head as she stared down at the mysterious person. She noticed the lack of fur and tail and instantly recognized what that person was, based on the many drawing she saw from artists of the popular fandom, that she and her friend was a member of.
"It...can't...be. It's a.....human"
She failed to notice Jess drop to her knees in shock.
"That's not just a human. Take a look at his face."
Tina cautiously stepped to the side of the knocked out human and immediately mimicked her friends' reaction when she got a closer look.
"It's.......S-Shaun."
