-Heji-
Serena's instinctual clock woke her up at about the right time, or it might have been Marlow that was pounding on the back of her mind, either way, she forced herself to sit up, and gently shook Heji awake. "Come on, Marlow'll kill us if we don't show up for the show that I semi volunteered him for...and we'll have sushi afterward." she mused, half trying to untangle herself from him.
Kyn continued to sit and observe, only having consumed two blue drinks, which he deemed was enough for him." He occasionally moved his hand into his lap in a specific position so he could read his watch without it blatantly looking like he was staring at his blank wrist. It wasn't quite 30 yet.
"I am not that type of cat Serena. Though if we are getting sushi, I prefer Nigiri sushi." Heji commented idly.
Serena rolled her eyes. "I wasn't making a comment about you being a cat, if I wanted to dangle something in front of your nose as a reward for getting up...it would be going back to bed." As she spoke, she slipped out of the room, dropping the bag and collecting her keycard. "As for their specials...well, we'll just have to talk to Nibble to see if they have...whatever it is you said."
At 7:45 he flagged down the bartender and asked for directions to Hugh's show. He knew it was rather odd to go to a casino to just buy drinks, so he figured he play a round or two of cards. He only placed down a few Poké each time, following the house ante, but his intention was to find a game in which he could card count. He'd fold and collect his winnings before they suspect anything, and then come back later after the show.
"Rooooooooar. I'm a Luxray. When I mention Nigiri sushi I'm sure that the person will be able to understand what I mean. Let's hurry up and get to Marlow's show. Do you have reserved seats, or did you manage to reserve seats?" Heji plopped out of bed, by rolling and landing on his paws in typical cat-like manner.
Serena chuckled at him, her tail flicked. "Mmm, we're with the act, we get the first row all to ourselves...mostly because Hugh always picks someone from the back most rows, this way people know that we're not in on the act." She passed through the second door, and waited for him to catch up before continuing. "Hope Kyn hasn't gotten himself into trouble..." She noted on the elevator, but soon they were among the card tables, and she tugged on Kyn's overcoat, which would be disguised as leaves on his tail. "Been having fun?" she mused, getting a look from the Clefairy, who unlike the Machoke before, recognized her. "it's time for the show...well, close enough."
"Doubled my Poké... for now...." Kyn said, rather quickly. Sitting in the front row was not something that he was used to, but it was, he guessed, better than being all the way in the back.
The show went off without a hitch, at least, so it would seem, of course, she watched with not much more than polite fascination as it went on, and ducked out when the show had ended to meet up with Marlow backstage and fill him in on where they were going to eat, and to congratulate him on a job well done. She didn't exactly tell the others where she was going, but she figured that slipping under the skirt on the stage would have been a good hint.
Kyn didn't really find the show that interesting... but he still did the proper things like clapping, and mimicking the audience reaction very well. Afterward he headed out to wait for the others out front. The arrived in a group again, and then headed to the sushi restaurant that he was told was the best.
Serena collected, yes, collected was the right word, Marlow and his pay for the night, sweeping him out from under the grumpy Kadabra who was really, REALLY getting on her nerves by the time she found a path out. How had she gotten in there, why wasn't she in the show, why why why why. Eventually Serena had to remind herself that this guy was on Anana's good terms to keep her from slashing the hell out of him with her shadow claw, and retreated to join the others at the front. "Nibble's Sushi Bar, This place gets rented out often by that sassy cat Twigs--he's nice enough, Nibble, I mean, his speech isn't too good, but he gets his point across well enough, just don't make him nervous."
"I think I've got some plans for the casino tomorrow, Serena. I'll tell you... a bit more later. For now, everything eaten, I will pay for." Kyn happily announced. His mood was cheery due to the fact that he would be eating sushi; even if it was Pokémon sushi and not regular fish sushi.
"Except you can't read the menus...we're back in the situation where I'm going to have to list things off again, aren't we? Well, if you don't like the specials." She did look at Heji for a moment, a curious look on her face. Heji and Striker, neither of them were there before...could they read footprints? She didn't know. Well, Striker probably could. "Remind me to teach you basic Footprint runes when we get back to the casino." she sighed, resigning herself to at least being able to help him learn the basics, she wouldn't always be around to assist him in transactions, and he would need to learn sometime.
"Oh I can read them perfectly Serena. There's... no need for you to take your time on that anymore. I'll also teach Heji how to read Footprint runes." Kyn said, hoping that he didn't come across as too rash.
"Speaking of... I don't really think I've ever eaten fish before. Raw, cooked, or otherwise." Striker commented.
Serena was, at best, skeptical. "Then I suppose you wont mind if I monitor all of the FEEDBACK that telepathy casts off when it's used." If it wasn't for the link with Marlow, she wouldn't even know about it, but it worked both ways, she wouldn't even touch the fact that since Lacu had been in her head, that she could get into his and intercept anything. It was only touching on the end of the fifth day, and she knew that she had felt feedback back then, and there hadn't been any mention of it since, so it wasn't likely. She looked at Striker. "Well...I suppose you'll see if you like it now, eh? They do have Squirtling here sometimes...much to the dismay of the parents I'm sure, but eh."
"What? No, don't do that... I mean... why would you need to do that?" Kyn asked and corrected himself, rather hurriedly.
"I believe I will go with trying... the octopus." Striker said.
"Your bluff is called, Kyn, you may as well give it up now." she gave a soft chuckle. "Besides, it's -not- something I can turn off, just something I can push to the back of my mind and ignore." She clicked her tongue as she stepped through the doorway, thankfully she wasn't tall enough to have to worry about the flags at the top. "Octillery." She corrected Striker, almost subconsciously. "Table or counter?" She asked, one hand on her hip.
"There isn't a bluff Serena, but uh... I still meant what I said." Thank goodness for that, he sighed to himself mentally.
"Counter for me, table for everyone else." Striker answered, knowing their answers.
"Your body went tense when you realized that anything that was being fed to you, I could overhear and decipher." She said, really quite without thinking. "Right then..." she blinked at Striker. "And Marlow can have an all you can eat buffet in the back...if he stays invisible." She walked over to the nearest open big table and sat down in a position where she could watch the room.
Admittedly the place was pretty empty....but the flash of yellow that caught her eye was unmistakable, and she twitched. 'What? No. No no, you're seeing things, she doesn't come in here this often, how...?' She tried to catch view of the yellow kec sister again, but snorted when she was sure she was imagining it.
"Well, I think I'm just lucky then that you don't know the real reason why all those tells happened. I'm keeping my mouth shut then," He said, before sitting down at the table.
"Nah.... I'm good for now. I already gorged myself," Marlow said to Serena, figuring she'd ask him later, or mentally.
"If you're full, then it would be wise for you to stay out of sight...ghost Pokémon aren't good for business~" a voice to the right of Serena said, and the mental groan was almost deafening.
