Night falls as I exit the day. My ship, The White Glider, still chugs along on it's electric motor as I hit the choppier ocean waters.

My mate and I like to meet on a island far off the coast. Using my ship allows me to catch a nap during the travel, napping standing up at the wheel of the ship. I've had no sleep today. Sure it sounds dangerous, but we dolphins fortunately are awake enough in our sleep state to know what's going on.. sort of.

I'm in the middle of a nap, and am awakened by the electric engine rumbling loudly, and the ship slowing down rapidly. I turn on the cabin light to check the instruments, battery power is fine, engine temperature is more than fine, maybe something got stuck in the intake again. I flip a breaker to turn the power completely off to the engine.

The boat has a engine similar to a jet ski, I'd rather not get anything cut up by a standard boat propeller, so I've chosen a jet model instead with a covered intake. The only thing that could get cut up by that are really small unlucky fish. And if you didn't miss the first of this series, you'd know my ship has both electric and gas engines.

I take off my tour uniform and leap off the bow into the night water. Clicking around as I dive and move to the underside the boat. There appears to be a piece of drift wood carefully placed over the intake. That's odd, one in a million chance it'd get stuck there instead of getting washed away after the engine stalled..

I hear clicks in the water, sounds like another dolphin; those clicks are pointed at me. I spin around in the direction of the to see another anthro phin in the distance.

"Hello?" I say in a dolphin dialect, stating my given name.

"Hello!" Missi says, stating her own name in the call. "You know I hate to see boats out in my waters," she says. "Especially when I'm not on one of them," she says cheerfully.

"Aha," I say, removing the piece of drift wood, now knowing what put it there. I swim around to her, and motion her to the boat. "Well come on aboard then," I say.

We swim up to the back of the ship, I leap up and then catch her hand as she jumps, helping her on. She catches a glimpse of my undersuit under the moon's light.

"Do you always wear that thing around?" she remarks, disapprovingly.

"It's a habit, you know I have to wear it on land," I respond, knowing where the conversation is headed.

"Yes, you're always on land," she starts.

I cut her off, "Because I have to work there, traveling does cos.."

"Money, I know, that's all you seem to care about now-a-days," she says, in plain English now that we are on board.

I'd rather not continue with it. I shake my head and begin walking to the cabin, she follows me, and continues, "You're a dolphin, Mick, you should be here in the ocean."

"Not all dolphin anthros live in the ocean," I say, "At least I still sleep in the ocean." I continue, "Besides, it costs money to travel and more so for the equipment I use in my research."

"Your research," she says, "What is with you and that anyway?"

I sigh, then say, "It's for a book, for the land creatures. I want to show them how important the ocean really is.."

"And why would you want to do that?" she remarks leaning up against the cabin wall as I start the engines. "I doubt they really care," she says.

"Exactly. They build over it, dump their garbage in it, and, yes, sail large loud ships over it. They don't care! I want them to think about what they are doing, I want them to know there are people who live down here. They think we don't mind the noise from boats, and you and I both know we do," I explain. My ship quietly moves along, continuing to our island.

"Right," she says, "And yet here we are on this ship. Sure, you modified it so it's quiet, but you're a dolphin, Mick, you don't even need a ship."

"That is true," I admit, having not much else to say.

"And if we swam," she continues, "We'd have been there by now!"

I sigh, still quite tired. I shut off the engine as we approach our destination. Missi seems to be done arguing with me for now. I anchor the ship; she jumps off, and I quickly follow. As I catch up, we swim together for a short while till we reach shore, synchronizing our movements naturally.

--- Night Time Stories ---

We lay back in the sand, staring up at the stars on our little island. My undersuit hangs up in a palm. Just the sounds of the waves are heard.

"I'm going to the Pacific tomorrow," I say, finally having something to say.

"That sounds interesting," she says, "Do you have any mates there?"

"No, sadly, not where I'm going. I don't believe there are bottlenoses at the location at all," I say.

"Pity," she says. "How is Malli doing?", she asks.

"Oh, she's doing fairly well," I say, thinking back to her from my last trip to Europe.

"How was the sex?" she asks. You land furs probably won't understand, dolphins live in a whole different world..

"Well, you know I don't like talking about it with other mates," I say, chuckling, "But she enjoyed it. She also enjoyed that story of me battling that great white," I joke.

"Ha, right," she says in a laugh. "Having fun with a female anthro shark does not count as a battle," she remarks.

"Heh, well, I didn't exactly want to," I say, "And she did managed to leave quite a bite mark during it. Took quite a bit of meds to heal over," I say, rubbing my shoulder. I'm so glad that didn't leave another scar, thank god for new meds.

"Right, and how was THAT?" she asks.

"Probably not quite as fun as I wanted it, but it was, well, very interesting," I say, laughing.

We both laugh for a bit, continuing to look up at the sky. The silence of the night..

--- Dolphins Don't Belong on Land ---

"You need to be with your pod more," she says, finally getting back to our argument.

"You know I try to be," I say.

"You sure don't seem like it, you're less of a dolphin every time I see you," she remarks.

"How so?" I say, actually kind of shocked she'd say that.

"You're always hanging out with those land furs," she says, "You keep coming back forgetting to take off you clothes, that's rather rude Mick."

"Missi, you know I come from a different pod, it's quite acceptable to mingle with land furs where I come from. Besides, it's not like I come fully clothed, it's just my undersuit I forget to take off. And hey, even you know English," I say, whops, perhaps a bit too far.

"Hmpt!" she pronounces. She looks up at the sky, thinking of something, turning away from me.

Crap. What to do next. I can't really think of much else to say..

I look at her. I remember how we met, when I first setup here. I was out fishing when she found me, she thought I was another phin like her, one that doesn't believe that anthro phins should remain on land. Alas, she learned over the years that's not quite true. Sure, I may be one few anthro phins who sleeps and eats in the ocean, but she expected more.

Still, she's a special friend to me. We've been together for years and she knows everything about my adventures. I've told her everything I've ever done, everyone I've ever seen. She's a beautiful dolphin, and I can never let that friendship break apart.

I gather all those thoughts up. I have to say something. "Missi," I start, "do you know why I do this?"

She turns back to me.

"I don't want us to ever be broken apart. The small effort I'm putting into teaching land furs helps prevent disastrous things from happening to us. I managed to convince someone not to dam off our bay before, and I want to continue to prevent that," I explain. After a moment pause, I say, "Missi, I want to keep us together."

She sits for a moment, pondering over what I said.

After a long moment, she says, "That's very kind of you." She looks up at me, getting up, "But I still don't think you're the phin I thought I knew."

I get up and move over to her, holding her as I say, "I still think I am." I pause for a moment. "Even though I may never be with you guys, I'm still very much a phin at heart," I say, trying to put a poetic spin on my words.

She sits there, my arms on her shoulders. "Then prove it," she says, loosening my grasp, and then making her way toward the ocean. I follow her as she begins to move faster.

We dive into the water together, swimming gracefully together out toward sea.

--- Prove It ---

As we enter the deeper ocean, I draw myself closer to her, eventually holding her in my arms. I nuzzle my beak along her neck. Slowing down together, spinning in the water.

I begin to lick her neck, slowly spinning her around so I can see her belly. She churrs quietly as I do so, both of us ready for what's coming next.

I push her gently up. Holding her by her legs, I gently stick my melon to her tail, giving out a low buzz. Stroking my melon up toward her tail slit, both of us becoming aroused. She enjoys the feeling.

Sensing this, I proceed to stick my bottlenose gently to the slit, loosening it up, letting out a louder buzz. She moans and churrs. Her arms and tail drifting in the current.

I move my way around her, sliding upward, letting my entire body rub against her slit and mammaries, she lets out a squeal. I keep moving up and position my tail carefully between her legs, letting the grove of my tail get into her slit. She squeals a bit more, I continue to move up, leaving her, spinning around to grasp her again.

I hold her, and say quietly, "Enjoying it?"

She responds, "Yes. Now take me," demandingly.

I slowly let my own slit open up, revealing my sleek dolphin member. I spin her around gently once more.

I lick her neck again, then slowly push her own beak down toward mine. She and I both look at each other, I begin to kiss her, holding her by her arms, our beaks coupling together.

I bring my tail in, our bellies meeting, she breaks the kiss, feeling my member touching her slit. She moves one of her legs around mine, bringing us in.

I then let my dolphin member slowly explore the outside of her slit, beginning to enter it once it has found the inner fold. She moans and murrs some more.

We hold each other, spinning slowly in the water. As my cock enters deeper into her slit, she lets her head swing upward, letting out a low sigh. I keep the kiss going, nudging her lower jaw a bit more. Our tails meet, her swollen mammaries rubbing against the sides of my tail, setting my member into motion.

My bit enters deeper into her slit, the thick end beginning to feel the push. I tickle her insides as I let it go deeper. She lets out a loud squeal.

I lick her neck and lower jaw, she's too busy enjoying what's going down below to notice. My dolphin bit doing a bit too well of a job, she's just about to climax.

Feeling this, I tilt back my tail a bit, juices from both of us splurt out into the water. She trembles a bit, squeezing down on my shoulders. I give a moment's rest, and with one quick motion I shove the rest of my now very thick dolphin cock into her slit. Her slit squeezes down on it, hard, setting us both in climax.

My dolphin seed flows into her, the pulsating synchronized between the both of us, her slit sucking it up as I pump it out. We both let out a loud squeal, me trying my best to keep my tongue on her, giving a quick licking motion to extend the pleasure some more.

We sit there, suspended in the ocean, slowly losing each other's grasp. My cock retracts from her slit and partially back into mine. She smiles at me.

"You're right," she says. "You've proved it. Still very much a phin at heart," she says joyfully.

"Up for another round?", I ask, not caring that I have a trip I need to get ready for tomorrow.

"You know I would," she says. "But I'd rather you get back home," she continues, "You have that trip tomorrow, save your energy for a lucky phin there."

"Well," I say, actually kind of disappointed, "Well, thank you." I'm glad she really means it.

"And sorry, I should be more open about the land," she says.

--- A good night's Rest ---

We lay together, in the sand, her dorsal fin resting on top of me. Tonight, we sleep covered not only by the stars, but by a blanket. She didn't protest.

Sleeping on land is a big step. Neither of us may accept the land as our home, but at least we can begin to understand it. The sand beneath me is still warm from the sunlight, I don't mind it at all, and having her by my side tonight really helps me gather it all in.

I wonder, how will phin anthros be on the other side of the world? They are always so different; some live on land most of their lives and enjoy the land, some enjoy the land but require to be in the water most of the time, some prefer the water over land, and some of course want to remain in the ocean as much as possible.

But all of them, every single one, no matter how distant or far they are, always feels something important to all of us.. The Ocean's Call.
