The Squall chapter 11

Julie and Jessica made their way through the hallway, making sure to keep quiet as to not draw attention of the guards. The pads of their foot paws touched down carefully though Jessica herself was more nervous then her companion, having no combat experience in the matter. She knew if they did happen to get caught then it was likely that she would have to rely on Julie to do most of the fighting. Shaking her head, she brought Shawn to her mind, his shyness, his mannerisms... Jessica blushed and smiled to herself, then took on a determined look. She WILL get her human back.

Shawn on the other hand was panting with exertion. Through the whole fight he had to rely mostly on Sam's personal strength and ability in order to not get hurt, minded he did dish out a few licks here and there himself. The masked human regarded him with slight bemusement before turning on the dolphin who, in surprise and fear, backed up slightly but attempted to hold her ground. She hesitated, then her bottlenose muzzle broke into a seductive grin as she closed the distance to Sam, placing her large chest to press against his neck (considering she was taller then him) before moving to caress under his chin, "my my, never have I seen someone so...powerful, so merciless, and a human at that..."

Shawn looked up with a incredulous look but was surprised as his companion answered, " perhaps, I've learned that living on this world you need to be strong to survive in consideration, though I'm guessing since your CEO you know quite enough, isn't that right Ms. Mora?"

"And well informed, you are turning out to be quite a prize Mr...?" she grinned, her charm appearing to have worked as she curled her fingers around the edges of the smiling mask, "maybe you, both of you, would like a reward?"

The human grabbed her wrist before she removed the mask; the only thing that could be seen was the developed brown goatee on his chin and a peculiar smile, "As lovely as that sounds, I think I'll pass." With that he brought a taser in his free hand and zapped the female, causing her to yip and fall unconscious from the shock before dropping to the ground along with the guards. Sam adjusted his mask carefully before turning to Shawn, "if they were blocking our way here its safe to assume the way I got in was discovered as well, we will need to double back to the garage area."

"Right, lead the way," Shawn nodded, catching his breath finally before moving over to follow the other human though his thoughts turned to his fellow in wonder, thinking quietly on who he was exactly. Eventually they turned to Jessica, reassuring him on his path as he moved to follow his mysterious comrade.

As Julie and Jessica rounded the corner, they ran into a lone equine who in turn was tall and formidable. He was leaving a large white room in distaste, turning and catching sight of the two before sighing, "as if I already don't have enough problems on my plate."

"Long times no see Jason," Julie smirked, "how is Charles? Still as full of himself as when I last saw him?" She brought up her weapon quickly, pointing it at the large equine in a professional manner before continuing, "On second thought, I couldn't care less... where the human is?"

The equine raised his hands in a surrendering fashion, though his brow lifted, "huh... well I was guessing you let him out but turns out I'm wrong, he managed to escape somehow and knock out a few guards as well; guess we shouldn't have underestimated him." He stepped forward but Julie fired the weapon and scathed him, causing Jason to wince and step back again.

Jessica was seething however, restraining the urge to not just move forward and beat the shit out of Jason, he was the one who had knocked her out and taken her love. Julie sensed her apprehension, deciding to move forward with this before the husky did something foolish as the tiger closed the gap and slammed the butt of her gun into the horse's chin, causing him to stumble. She then planted her foot into his stomach then grabbed his arm and slammed him into the wall, cuffing him there, "where is Charles?"

"He's packing up some research in the midden floors before heading to the garage area, I was suppose to grab the human and meet him there," he coughed painfully, earning a growl from the feline behind him.

Jessica immediately moved forward, restraining the urge to punch him as she asked angrily, "why did your company want Shawn? To experiment on him?"

Jason chuckled in strain, "hardly, but its not my place to tell whiny bitches such as yourself," the remark earned him a much satisfied crack across his muzzle, turning a half open eye to the tiger who restrained him, "didn't know you were taking a civilian on this charade Julie, that's not your style."

It had been Jessica who had punched the equine, so in turn Jessica let him slump to the ground with a loud thud, "I know, but she and her friends have been with the human longer then any other, and he trusts them, as do I."

Jason coughed up some blood before falling unconscious, leaving the two females to look down at him. Jessica looked up quietly to her companion, and then asked, "How do you two know each other?"

"I use to work here as head of security," Julie answered, sniffing, "I think I know what Charles is up to, but we need to concentrate on getting your human back."

Jessica was about to answer before her ears perked up, turning her head toward the hallway, "someone is coming!"

They both moved to the room, Julie dragged the knocked out Jason in as well. They both then remained quiet, while Jessica peeked out, "sounds like only two of them, should we jump out and surprise them?"

"That would be the best course of action, "Julie commented, moving the equine into the corner, "probably just two guards investigating the noise..."

Jessica nodded, peering around the corner quietly as the steps got louder, she then heard an unknown voice, "if my guess is right then, the President's guard is probably performing an offensive in front as a distraction while they hook around to the garage area, the ballistic explosives you heard where them taking out the top floors to prevent air ward escape."

Her eyes widened when a familiar voice answered, "Then I'm guessing we will need to escape soon, and hopefully this place won't get leveled along the way..."

"Shawn!" She cried out happily, running out of her hiding spot much to Julie's surprise and immediately racing forward to embrace the equally surprised human. Shawn blinked when two soft furry arms embraced him and practically lifted him off the floor, swinging him around then stopping as her muzzle impacted with his mouth in a passionate kiss. Didn't take him long though as he broke it, chuckling, "Jessica! Your here, your ok I...wow this is unexpected, he he."

The husky however started sobbing, causing him to immediately recover and embrace her, "I was so worried, I thought...I thought they were going to experiment you or rape you or..." she choked on her tears quietly as Shawn wiped them away timidly," hey hey, its ok Jessie, I'm fine see? I'm ok."

Julie moved out, her eyes widening a bit and feeling a small lustful rush but was thankfully was levelheaded to stifle it down as she commented, "So your the human named Shawn huh? That was some impressive work getting free, must have had some trouble by the guards."

Shawn turned to her, eyeing her cautiously but Jessica caught sight of this and hurriedly commented, "Shawn this is Julie, she the captain of our President's personal guard, she helped us."

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you Mr. Shawn." the tigress nodded, holding her hand out. When he took her hand, the feeling of his skin caused her heat to spike, the urges returning as she quickly let go to keep her professional composure," so anyway nice job on escaping."

"Oh I had help!" Shawn replied as he let go of her hand, turning to introduce his mask compatriot, "this is...wait..."

The masked human named Sam had disappeared, causing much confusion on Shawn's part as he moved to the hallway from which he came but finding no sight of his fellow human. Jessica tilted her head confused, "is something wrong Shawn?"

Shawn scratched the back of his head when he came back to her, "I don't know, I had help from...another human named Sam but he's not here, its weird I could have sworn he was in front of me when you dashed to hug me Jess..."

"I thought I heard another voice, but I guess I was so excited to see you I...wasn't paying attention," the husky replied, scratching her head in confusion

"Another human?" Julie blinked, "you will have to tell us about this 'Sam' some other time, right now we need to get clear of here, once I give the signal your macro friend and the two busters are going to charge in and take care of the 2 guard macros, and I'd think you both would agree I wouldn't like to be here with 5 giants stomping about."

They both nodded, following the tigress as she led them back along the path she had taken.

Charles tapped his com, "Jason? Jason? Mora? What the hell..." He was trying to contact his subordinates but they weren't answering their coms, which could only mean the rescue team that was sent in took them out. He had figured something was wrong when Jason's subordinates didn't answer, and now Jason himself and Mora where out of commission? Growling he took the memory card and the back up from the computer before turning to step into the hallway, making his way down.

He will have to find out later, for now the lion needed to leave the building before the guard leveled it. As the building shook once more he felt a slight pang of regret, hoping both of his trusted companions would forgive him once he skipped out, the research was too substantial and they were too close to their goal. Even if the president's guard rescued the human they already have all they need to drag another unwilling human into their clutches, and from him or her they will root his great work to fruition.

Smiling a bit, he made his way down the step way to head towards the garage, but stopped suddenly when a morose figure stood in his way. The person in question was wearing a mask but with the exposed ears and hair it didn't take a genius to figure it out, Charles pointed at him astounded, "another human?"

"Hello again Charles," the human named Sam responded, tilting his head.

Charles blinked at this, and then finally understood, "Samiel?"

"In the flesh," came his reply, the human proceeding to remove his mask as to confirm the lion's suspicion.

Charles's eyes widened, then hesitated, "I didn't figure you would come to a fellow's rescue, I thought you were dead..."

Sam moved forward quietly, crossing his arms, "yes I got that a lot, though unfortunately most of my contacts are now dead, why is that I wonder?"

Charles gulped soundly. He was very aware of what the human in front of him was capable of, and in spite of his strong and formal attitude he felt a slight pang of fear that the chance of dying in here just increased rapidly with the mysterious new human's appearance. Sam himself had stopped in front of the bigger male, his arms still crossed and quietly waiting on an answer.

The large feline's throat was pretty dry right now, "it was... a precaution to keep you from finding your way back I...well...how the hell did you get back?"

"I just followed the smell of backstabber in the morning."

"That... I... "The lion shifted uncomfortably, "listen, Samiel, your very existence defies not just my research but the ethics of this world, all things considered you're not human, you're..."

"Enough," Sam spoke up suddenly, shutting the frightened feline up as he put on his mask, "you know its unwise of you to make excuses in an attempt to escape my grasp, you know what I am here for now, give me that back up data."

As he held out his hand the larger male hesitated before giving him the backup data before asking shakily, "what are you going to do?"

Sam pocketed the data before turning to leave the lion, "I'm bringing this to an end of course, make sure to watch your back."

He was then gone, disappearing down another path while leaving the lion to sigh with relief. However if Samiel was back then things just got a lot more complicated... taking a practiced exhale he made his way to the garage hurriedly.

Julie, Jessica, and Shawn made their way to the garage without stop as the human regaled on how he was saved by the mysterious masked human named Sam, along with the surprising ease on taking out several anthros who were trained, stronger and much larger then he was. As they spoke on the matter Julie made sure to call in the macros in question, time to clean up, "alright, I'll have a transport take you all to northern atlas city where scheduled hotel 'Fritz' will take you in," the tigress moved to open the door before continuing, "just try and relax, we will have the best stationed around that area so Shawn himself is never in the danger of being kidnapped again."

"Thank you so much for this, all of this," Jessica moved to hug the surprised tigress, who took it in stride as she turned to the human, "I apologize for this kidnapping, I hope it doesn't lower your views of our kind considering your so alien to this world."

"Its fine, might take me a bit to adjust but Jess and her friends...my friends have been really helping me, "Shawn offered a smile, placing a hand on Julies shoulder who visibly shuddered at the touch, "also why are we going to a hotel?"

"Well, the moment you appeared on the news our president has been dying to meet you in person, "Julie explained, "when you got kidnapped well he he never seen her so furious."

As they stepped in they were greeted by Tina, Tony, and Beth, who immediately rushed forward to hug/suffocate the human while Beth picked them all up in a large hug. As they explained what had happened to each other, a resound pounding was heard and a few loud roars along with a 'HYAH!" from Ashley, a yelp, then the ground shook as something very large impacted with the ground.

An APC and 2 trucks appeared with soldiers, the lieutenant (a German shepherd) from earlier marching forward to shake the captain's hand, "mission accomplished ma'am, the macro's gave us trouble but the 2 juggernauts and that bovine macro laid the smack down on a surprise attack, as well as the front line being broken so we are prepared to upsurge the building and arrest everyone inside."

"Good job lieutenant Caleb," Julie replied, shaking his hand, "we've secured the human, he and his friends will be transported to the hotel safe zone in the meanwhile before meeting the president."

"Right ma'am," the shepherd nodded, turning his gaze to Shawn in question before smiling and holding out his hand, "I'm lieutenant Caleb Armbrust, its nice to meet you Mr....?"

"Shawn, "the human responded, moving to accept the hand, "it's a pleasure to meet you Caleb, thanks for the rescue."

To his surprise the Shepherd didn't shake the hand, rather than brought it up to his muzzle and kissing it tenderly, which in turn earned a few giggles, a lifted eyebrow from his superior, and a blushing red faced human "the pleasure is mine Shawn, I hope we get better acquainted in the future." With a wink he moved to join the troupe entering the building, Tony in turn nudged Shawn playfully, "mind if I kiss your hand too?"

Shawn sighed in annoyance, playfully punching the Doberman's shoulder as Jessica and Tina wrapped their arms around him to lead him out, "No offense Tony, but I think I need a small break away from horny guys right now."

The caravans of retreating vehicles were already backing on the states streets, leaving the rest for the militaries' work. Charles and surprisingly Jason and Mora would not be found in the search as the President's guard arrested the medical company's involvement in the kidnapping. Shawn was tired, leaning on Jess close to falling asleep... but as the company building shrunk into the distance he could have sworn he saw a lone figure at the top, the smoke rising and slightly hiding whoever it was from view.

And as soon as he had seen him he was gone, leaving the tired human to seek the comfortable darkness of sleep with the people he cared about.
