#3 of Eevee Chronicles

Chloe collapsed to the ground when she saw her daughter's picture.

Bound, gagged, tortured, naked and dead.

"N-no, th-this can't b-be real! Sh-she has to st-still be alive!" Chloe stammered.

"Mum?" Mark said as he approached her.

"Oh, Mark!" she exclaimed, collapsing onto his shoulder, sobbing.

"M-mum, what's wrong?" Mark asked, bewildered.

Chloe looked as if she was going to say something, but she couldn't bring herself to tell him, so she showed him the picture.

Mark went pale, and Chloe started to sob again with renewed vigor.

Harry, Murphy and Chaise rushed over when Chloe collapsed, and Mark showed them the picture.

"My god!" Mark heard Chaise exclaim, "that looks like the work of,"

She broke off, and whispered something into Murphy's ear, so softly, Mark barely heard it.

"Might Dragon" she whispered.

Chloe obviously heard this as well, for she picked herself off the ground, still with tears in her eyes, and walked slowly over to them.

"Wh-who's Might Dragon?" she asked.

"Who?" Chaise replied, trying to feign ignorance.

When she saw the firey glint in Chloe's eyes, and felt the faint auror of heat coming off her, she abandoned the pretense.

"Might Dragon is one of the Signit Commanders. They are a group of the most evil beings in the universe. Now you see why," Chaise said.

She looked at Chloe curiously.

"You must have done something to them, for them to want to take out you and your family,"

Just then, Chloe felt an unimaginable amount of pain, and collapsed to the ground, writhing in pain. Suddenly, she felt as if a part of her had died, and the pain stopped. It stopped too late, though, for she collapsed to the ground, almost unconsciousness, but still aware of her surroundings.

She heard the pounding of feet rushing towards her from Sally and Krystal's house, and felt soft hands pick her up off the ground, and take her inside.

When Chloe finally looked up, she saw Sally in the kitchen, talking on the phone to someone. She then saw Krystal looking out the window, gazing at the stars.

"You know, you're a curious person," Krystal said, still looking out the window, "you have powers that almost no-one has,"

This startled Chloe.

"Almost no-one? You mean there are other people out there who have powers like me?"

"Not many, but yes,"

Sally walked back in, having finished her phone call.

"Rouge's on her way, though she won't be here for at least a week. She said she has some 'unfinished' business to attend to," Sally said, "what was that all about, before, anyway? You just collapsed,"

"I-I think Glaceo's in trouble," Chloe said fearfully.

"That he is! How could he leave you at a time like this?" Sally said forcefully.

"That's not what I meant!" Chloe retorted, angry that Sally had implied Glaceo was some sort of bad person.

She felt her anger building up inside of her, to the point where she fired a fireball through the wall.

As her anger subsided again, she felt a profound sense of loss, and buried her face in her hands.

Then there was a whining sound outside, like an engine, and Chloe rushed outside, closely followed by Sally and Krystal.

There was a ship hovering overhead. A ship that looked strangely familiar...

Then there was a flash of light, and there stood five pokemon, a Jolteon, a Flareon, a Leafeon, a Vaporeon and an Umbreon.

"Chloe!" a voice that she hadn't heard for over eighteen years said, "We came as fast as we could! Is everyone alright, and where the hell's Glaceo?"

She realised why they looked so familiar. It was Glaceo's family, and by the look of them, they had all evolved.

"It's me, Leafia," the Leafeon said, "I hope you remember us!"

"Ha, how could I forget you? You saved me! Among other things..." Chloe replied happily.

Chloe turned to Sally and Krystal.

"This is, well, my family. Well, my husband's brothers and sisters," she said to them.

"Everyone, this is Sally and Krystal, my neighbours," Chloe said to her family.

"Sally and Krystal, this is Booster, Thunders, Showers, Blacky and Leafia,"

They nodded politely in turn.

"Now that we're all aquainted, let's get to work," Leafia said, "and to get back to my earlier question, where the hell's Glaceo?"

At the mention of his name, Chloe felt like a shard of ice had stabbed her through her heart.

Leafia saw her expression, and dropped it.

"Mark! Hope! Can you come over here please?" Chloe shouted.

The two of them rushed over, obviously curious about the new arrivals.

"And who do we have here?" Blacky asked.

"Everyone, I'd like to introduce you to my son, Mark, and my daughter, Hope," Chloe said.

Suddenly, there was another flash of light, and another picture appeared on the ground infront of Chloe.

She picked it up with trembling hands, glanced at it, then violently threw up.

Leafia took the picture off of Chloe, and looked at it. She didn't throw up, but she went extemely pale.

It was of Glaceo, or at least, what was left of him. His fur was burnt, and his face twisted into a howl of pain. Where the fur had been burnt off, blistered, bubbled skin showed. In some places, he was so badly burnt that the skin had peeled away, exposing blackened muscle and charred bone.

As Chloe took the picture back, the surface of the picture turned black, and two evil, red eyes blinked into life. As quickly as they appeared, the vanished. Not wanting to look at Glaceo's mangled corpse, she turned the picture over, and was surprised to find words written there.

'Your move' it said.

"Chloe, can I have a look at that photo please?" Krystal asked.

Chloe looked startled, but handed the picture over to her.

She took the picture and closed her eyes.

After about a minute, she opened them again.

"Yep, this was sent here by a Cerilian portal," Krystal said.

"Cerilian?" Chloe asked, confused.

"Oh, I forgot, you don't know. The Cerilians are a race that have existed since the start of time. We are galactic nomads, travelling from one galaxy to the next. We have the power to travel across the various dimensions through portals that only we can make. We also each have a power, normally designated by tattoos on our backs. We are also given a sword for protection. And you are one of them,"

"M-me?" she stuttered.

"Yes, you. You can teleport, you can create fireballs, and you can create portals. Well, I think you can create portals. Have a try, just concentrate hard on a place, say, over infront of my house,"

"B-but I don't have tattoos or a sword," Chloe said.

"Just try it please?"

Chloe closed her eyes, and concentrated hard.

There was a crackling sound, and a flash of blue light.

Chloe opened her eyes to find a glowing rent in space hovering right infront of her.

A quick glance at Krystal, who gave a reassuring nod, and she stepped throught the portal. She emerged infront of their house, and turned to look at them. Krystal waved, and stepped into the portal herself. She emerged seconds later beside Chloe.

"Looks like you can create portals," she said.

Krystal glanced at Chloe's now exposed back, and gave a little chuckle

"You know, it is normally customary among us to give a codename once one discovered our power," Krystal said.

"I'm sorry, us?" Chloe interupted, confused.

"Yes, I'm a Cerilian as well. As I was saying, you can control fire, so, what do you think about Firefox?"

"Firefox? Has a nice ring to it," Chloe said, pleased.

"There is one thing, though, that bothers me. Cerilians normally can't reproduce with non-Cerilians without performing a certain ritual. So unless Glaceo was part Cerilian, you shouldn't have been able to have kids..." Krystal trailed off.

There was a whooshing sound, and the portal behind them closed.

"How can we tell if he was?" Chloe asked.

"Well, we can't. Not now, anyway. Let's go back, care to open another portal?" Krystal asked.

"Sure thing," Chloe replied, concentrating on where she was before.

When nothing happened, she shrugged.

"I can't open it," Chloe said.

"Well, this is only your second time, let me try," Krystal said.

She closed her eyes.

"That's strange, I can't open one either..." Krystal trailed off.

"Shit!" she swore.

"What?"

"We need to get back over there right now!"

"Why?"

"Something is blocking our portals, and I have a bad feeling, like something bad is going to happen..."

As they rushed over to Chloe's house, there was yet another flash of light, and Mark and Hope disappeared.

"No!" Chloe shouted.

She rushed over to the spot where they were standing, hoping that she could go through the portal before it closed, but she was too slow.

"No! I won't let you get away with this, Might Dragon!"

"Don't worry, we're all by your side," Leafia said from behind her.

Chloe turned around, and saw that each and every one of her friends was behind her. Even Chase, who she barely knew.

She looked Chloe in the eye, and said "I'm with you, till the end,"

Chloe felt her heart warm.

"Thank you," she managed to say.

Then, Chloe felt a strange, itchy sensation in her mind, pointing her about two kilometers away.

"Ok, are you sure that you want to come? You don't have to if you don't want to," Chloe asked.

"You should know by now, we're all in this together, to the very end," Murphy said, cocking her SIG Pro.

"We'll need some weapons. I hardly think that two handguns are enough to take out Might Dragon," Harry said.

He pulled out his radio and spoke rapidly into it.

As he was doing this, Murphy pulled her aside.

"Chloe, I know you know where they are. Can you show us on a map so we can set up a perimeter?" Murphy asked.

"Uh, Ok..." Chloe replied.

Murphy pulled out a map and laid it across the bonnet of a nearby car.

Chloe looked around the map, and placed her finger on a block, two and a half kilometers away.

"Here," she said.

Murphy pulled out her radio and started talking into it.

"I need a perimeter on Height Street. Snipers, SWAT, the works,"

A screeching of tyres caught Chloe's attention.

A black van pulled up infront of the house.

A fox with black fur and a bullet-proof vest stepped out of the van.

"Here's almost all the arsenal, I doubt you'll need it all though," the fox said.

"We probably will, thanks Marty," Harry said.

Marty nodded and went around to the back of the van, opening the doors.

There was an almost literal mountain of weapons in there, from SIGs to P90s to RPGs to snipers, and Chloe even thought she saw a 'Noisy Cricket' in there.

"Ok guys and gals, grab a gun," Marty said.

Chloe saw Murphy get a P90, a Desert Eagle handgun and a couple of grenades. Everyone else mainly got the same things, and all the while, Marty handed out bullet-proof vests. When Marty saw Chloe just standing there, he walked up to her and handed her a .357 Magnum.

"You waiting to get in?" he asked her.

"No," she said, handing the pistol back to him, "I have my own weapons,"

"Uh huh, like what?" he asked.

"Like this," she said, as she conjured a fireball above her palm.

"Ok, I'm just gunna back away nice and slowly now," he said, frightened.

As he walked back to the others, Chloe couldn't help but give a little smirk.

Once they were all armed, Chloe opened a portal to where she knew Mark and Hope were.

As Chloe stepped through the portal into a dark room, she immediately knew something was wrong.

She ducked as she heard something whistling through the air.

She immediately lit a fireball, illuminating the room.

She saw a panther trying to yank out a sword from the wall behind her, having lodged in the wall at neck height.

She created another fireball and launched it at the panther.

It passed right through him.

He finally yanked the sword out and started wildly slashing at her.

Bidden by instinct, she conjured a fireball, and changed it's shape so it was now a firey sword.

She launched herself at the panther, her fury and anger fueling her.

He blocked the swing, but it was a futile effort, for Chloe spun with her sword in the air above her head, and slashed downwards.

The panther brought up his sword to block her swing, but her firesword cut right through it like a hot knife through butter.

He looked down at the remains of his sword, realising his fate, before his head fell to the ground.

She looked back at the portal and saw everyone else starting to come through.

Chloe went over to Murphy.

"He's dead,"

"I can see that,"

"Might Dragon is finally finished,"

"Uh, not to burst your bubble there, but that isn't Might Dragon,"

"Well, then who is?"

"I am,"

They all turned around, and saw a massive dragon walking in through the door, dragging Mark and Hope with him.

They were both covered in cuts and bruises, Mark's fur was matted with blood, and Hope was unconscious.

"What have you done to them?" Chloe yelled in fury at him.

"Nothing they didn't have coming to them, just as I am going to do to you," he replied, with an evil little chuckle.

Suddenly, he dropped them and raised his arms.

Everyone except Chloe was thrown upwards, then thrown down again.

As Chloe stared at the lifeless bodies of her friends, she saw that Sally and Krystal hadn't come through.

Chloe turned around to face Might Dragon, who unsheathed his sword.

He then rammed it through both Mark and Hope.

"No!" she yelled, lobbing a monstrously large fireball, fueled by rage, grief and loss, at him.

He swatted it away like it was a fly.

As he pulled out his sword from Mark and Hope's chests, a firey haze settled around Chloe.

He turned to face her.

"So, I assume you have a codename? Let's hear it," he said, snidely.

"My name is Firefox!" she shouted, and re-conjured up her firesword, slashing at his neck.

He blocked it with his sword.

"Well, a very apt name indeed," he commented, launching himself at Chloe.

She twisted and parried with the grace of a weasel, elegantly side-stepping and dodging his attacks.

Suddenly, he jumped up high, and slashed downwards with all of his considerable bulk.

She blocked his attack and threw a fireball at him.

It just splashed over his hide, doing no damage.

"Ha ha ha, that tickles," he said.

This enraged Chloe even more, when a voice entered her mind.

"Use your anger, and wipe him out!"

So she did.

As soon as Chloe geve into the feelings, her sword blazed so hot, it actually singed a bit of the fur on her palm.

Chloe yelped, and almost dropped her sword, and Might Dragon seized the opportunity.

He ducked under her guard, and got behind her, placing his sword at her throat.

"Any last words?"

As Chloe struggled, she reflected on her life, how it had been one continuous battle. She thought of all the victims of Might Dragon. Her friends, her family, Glaceo...

As his face blossomed in her mind, she let out a yell.

Her entire body changed, looking exactly like she did before, but turned into pure fire.

Might Dragon yelped and let go of her.

Chloe grabbed his throat and lifted him high into the air.

As he struggled, Chloe felt a wave of peace flow over her, and instead of dimming her fire, it made it stronger.

As she prepared to kill him though, he kicked her in the chest, making her drop him, and he managed to open a portal and escape through it. It closed the second he went through it, so she couldn't follow him.

She stretched out her mind, seeing if he was still in the building, but when she felt no life other than her dying son and daughter, she collapsed, turning back to normal.

She crawled over to her children, and as she did, she felt them slip away into the great void that is the afterlife. She started to cry, and as she did, white, wraith-like forms of her family and friends appeared.

"Guys, I'm so sorry," Chloe sobbed, "If I had known what was going to happen, I wouldn't have brought you here,"

The wraith that was Murphy walked over to her.

"We would have insisted, that's what friends are for," she said.

Chloe sobbed even harder at this.

Her family walked over to her, and gathered around.

"I'm s-s-sorry th-that this h-h-h-happened," she cried to her family.

"It's alright, honey," Glaceo said, "just promise me that you'll find another to love,"

"But I can't. Nothing will ever replace you," Chloe sobbed.

"Let go, I'll always be with you, but you have to let go. Find someone else, you're a survivor,"

The wraiths vanished.

As she looked around her, Chloe saw the bodies of all her friends, and felt her rage building again.

She let out a blood curdling roar, yelling with all her rage, grief, hate and pain.

"Murphy," she sobbed, "Harry, Chase, Leafia, Showers, Booster, Thunders, Blacky, Mark, Hope, Verity, Glaceo. This is for you,"

She held out her hands, and a flickering orb of fire about the size of a pebble grew in between them.

She thrust it down into the floor, and a wave of brilliant white light erupted from it.

Then, there was a blue flash of light, and she was back home.

She looked around, towards the house where she just was, and glimpsed a ball of light coming from the house where she just was.

She then heard Sally speaking urgently to her, but Chloe didn't, couldn't take it in.

A wave of exhaustion flooded over her, and she pitched forwards into the ground.

And as she drifted into unconsciousness, she saw the ghost of Glaceo watching over her, and heard his last words echoing forever in the endless night.

"You're a survivor,"

And so, Chloe's peacefull life was shattered. She was never the same again, as you could imagine. When she finally regained her composure, she left. She teleported herself to a lonely asteroid orbiting a pair of binary stars. The view was breathtaking, and so was the environment. Because she was as close to immortal as a vixen could get, she didn't have to fear suffocation or exposure to the elements. As far as I know, she's still there, and will probably be there untill the end of everything. She still occationly sees the ghosts of her lost family and friends, but that's probably because of her powers than because she was lonely. She still checks in from time to time, and we talk about all the adventures that she'd gone on. Most notably, her help in the deaths of the Signit Commanders. But that's another story...

************

Phew! What a long story. For me, anyway. So, I'd like to point out that this is basically the rest of the series put into one story. I am going to probably be writing another chapter to this particular series, but no promises. Uh, yeah, so first of all, thanks to Sonic Fox, for letting me make Chloe here into a Cerilian, I really appreciate it! Secondly, thanks to SPAMZZKRR for standing by my side since the beginning of my storywriting journey. Also, thanks to all the people who have commented, faved and watched me and my stories! I doubt that I'd have gotten this far if it wasn't for your support *blows kiss*.

The short paragraph at the end is a little narration that I put in. Basically, it describes what happens to Chloe after everything. If you want to read what happens to Chloe afterwards, read the KMA series written by SPAMZZKRR. I am going to be accepting commisions around January 31, cause I still need to finish off my other series, and I already have a commision request. Also, I'll be offshore from December 25 to January 8. I'll still have internet, thanks to my 3G wireless modem, but I won't be able to get on as much, if at all...

Other that that, Happy Holidays and Merry Yiffing!
