The Blessing and The Curse - Part 11
#11 of The Blessing and the Curse
Serenity.
It's a sensation that people often talk about, but not many of them have ever actually felt.
Imagine being weightless, bathed in sunlight from all angles, your body laying in whatever random position you find most comfortable. A sleepy contentment wafting through your brain. Only that precise moment in time matters; there is no past to mourn, no future to fret about. Time has stopped, and you remain frozen in a snapshot of bliss.
That was how I felt in the hours after I... changed.
People think werewolves are hyperaggressive beasts, driven purely by the basest instincts to hunt, mate, kill, whatever. Honestly, I'd never felt so calm in my life, laying there on the bed, readjusting to my new form.
Gregory laid next to me the whole time. He must have felt a small amount of pride in the fact that he'd won me over, but the smile on his face wasn't a look of self-satisfaction. No, he was happy for me. Happy that I had accepted him, happy that I had allowed him access to my most intimate places, and most of all happy that I was now the same form as him.
"How do you feel?" Gregory asked. He'd asked that very question over and over again in the past three hours, as if he was afraid I would suddenly change my mind and ask to be given back the past 24 hours to live again.
I had answered him in similar ways every time he asked. I felt amazing. I felt alive. I felt loved. Truly loved. The kind of unconditional love your parents could only hope to give you.
"Grateful," I said this time.
Gregory leaned over to give me a peck on the cheek. "I'm glad you appreciate the gift I've given you, Nick."
I looked back up at the ceiling. "So... 'the white wolf'," I said whimsically. "That was you in the ravine, wasn't it?"
Gregory nodded. "I had heard reports the day before of a missing high school student, one who had been teased and mocked mercilessly by classmates at school. Stories like that typically do not end in the way yours did, so I knew I had to find you as soon as possible. Once I did, I couldn't just take you back home on my own, so I resorted to what you saw that night - scaring you out of the ravine."
"And the next night?"
"I had to check on you, to make sure that you didn't do anything rash after returning home. Obviously, it was a good thing I did, because you were ready to kill yourself that night."
"But... why all the attention? You'd never met me before. You didn't even know I existed until my face was on the news. Surely you couldn't have fallen in love with me even before you first saw me."
"Because," Gregory replied, "I was once in your dilemma, Nick. Long ago. Persecuted by society for things I had no control over, to the point that they wanted me dead. I escaped their wrath, fortunately, but I lost a friend in the process. I swore never again to abandon someone in that position. When the stories about you began to emerge, I knew that you were in need of my help."
"I don't understand. How does... this... help me?"
"You think you became a werewolf tonight, don't you?"
I snorted. "Looks pretty obvious to me that I did."
"You are wrong. You became a werewolf last week, in the locker room, when we first made eye contact."
"I still don't..."
"Think back, Nick. Remember that day? I said hello, you returned the greeting. That very moment, you became a werewolf by my blessing. How else do you explain your sudden aptitude at sports?"
He was right. Only after our first encounter was I suddenly so great during gym class. I have to admit, it hurt a little bit to realize that I didn't improve on my own, but at the same time, I knew that it went a long way towards easing the malice that was always directed at me by the other boys.
"Not only do you now have the physical ability that you once lacked, you also have the confidence to use it. You will never have to worry about the words of others ever again, because now you know that you have power far beyond anything they could comprehend. That, Nick, is my gift to you."
"So, if you turned me into a werewolf back then, why haven't I changed until tonight?"
"A new werewolf cannot change spontaneously," Gregory explained. "Even though tonight is a full moon, and your biorhythm is most excited as a result, the wolf within you cannot manifest on its own. It must be drawn out - summoned, if you will - by observing the transformation of another werewolf. Once the change is witnessed, your body learns its true nature, and it changes in turn."
"And now?"
"Now, you have no limitations. You may pass from human to wolf, any time, at will. Try it."
"All right." I took a deep breath, clearing my mind to concentrate on changing back. I thought it would be a draining sensation, as all of my newfound power would ebb away, leaving the scrawny little sophomore I've always been. But no, the transformation back into a human felt just as fantastic as the one into a wolf. I closed my eyes and moaned, luxuriating in the feeling of the fur receding into my body, hands and feet softening, my face slipping back into its original position.
When I was done, I looked over at Gregory, who had also returned to human form, beaming with a large smile.
"Well done."
I giggled, oddly proud of the new trick I'd learned, and rolled over on the bed so that I was on top of him.
"I love you," I said, planting a meaningful kiss on his lips.
"And I, you," he responded.
My desire was reawakening from the intimate contact, and my hips began to hump reflexively against him, our cocks rubbing into one another. We both swelled to our maximum stiffness, and Gregory reciprocated every thrust I made into him with one of his own. Our hands, and mouths explored each other, memorizing every curve and crevasse of our muscles and skin. It didn't take long at all for orgasm to catch up to us both. My groin jolted into his as another measure of sticky seed spurted all over his torso, and I cried sharply into the night as the ecstasy captured my body. Gregory responded in kind with a strained moan, and I watched as strings of white erupted from his penis, mixing with my own contributions and slathering his body with both our fluids.
Fully spent, I collapsed onto him and gave him another kiss that demonstrated my love for him, and sighed contentedly as we fell asleep in each other's arms.
Morning came slowly, as I slept more soundly and more peacefully than I could ever remember. But as I adjusted my eyes to the sunlight now beaming into the room with full force, I looked to the side where I expected Gregory to be, to see that he was gone. Musing that he must already be awake, I gathered my clothes off the floor and put them back on. Once fully dressed, I left the bedroom and found Gregory busy in the kitchen, mixing pancake batter in a large bowl.
"Good morning, Nick," he said with a friendly smile on his face. "I take it you slept well?"
"I slept great," I replied.
"I'm glad to hear it." He continued mixing. "Would you care to join me for breakfast?"
I glanced over at the clock. Quarter after nine. "Sorry, but I think I'd better get going. My parents are probably worried about me... again."
"I can imagine," Gregory replied. "I don't think they expected you to stay overnight."
"I wasn't expecting to stay overnight myself," I joked. I walked up to him and gave him yet another kiss on the lips. "I guess this means your work is done."
"Pardon me?"
"Well, you said yourself - you were going to give me the tools to overcome my insecurities, and you did. I imagine there's some other kid out there who needs your help now."
Gregory looked directly into my eyes. "I also said that I would never abandon you, Nick. If I were to leave now, that's exactly what I would be doing. Now that you have this gift, you must learn to harness it. That is what separates us from the others of our kind - such as the one that changed me. If you allow it to, the wolf will control you, and not the other way around as it should be. I must still teach you that control. And even when you learn that, I will still be at your side to support you, because I love you, and that is reason enough to stay."
I nodded slowly. "I guess I'll see you at school tomorrow, then."
"You certainly will. Goodbye, Nick."
I walked out of the kitchen and left the house.
