Trainer Tales 2
#2 of Trainer Tales
After waiting for days, there is some news about how Lopunny is doing. And a certain pokemon is quite interested in the news.
You didn't have to wait too long afterall; the sexy times start in this chapter (albeit briefly.) Again, I hope you enjoy the story and leave me a comment or whatnot if you do (or even if you don't) and let me know what you like/dislike. Thanks! -Stitch
It was two days after we initially showed up at the pokecenter that I was finally able to see Lopunny. I had left only a few times, to go to the nearby park and let out my Pokemon for a bit to stretch their legs. Every time I let out Raichu he just stared at me, waiting, until I gave him an update on the lopunny he saved. I always had to tell him that I hadn't heard any update yet and that I was still waiting.
He would have probably liked to wait with me but I couldn't have him impatiently pacing about the lobby in the pokecenter, waiting for word from the nurse. So I was sitting there alone when I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder and looked up, over my shoulder to see her standing behind me, smiling.
"She's in good condition right now, and awake if you care to go in and see her."
I quickly jumped up and followed the nurse to the room. When I got in there, I saw Lopunny with a brace on her leg and a visible scar on her ear where the larger tear was stitched together. The nurse left as I walked close to the bed. Lopunny turned her head slightly to look at me, clearly still weak from the beating she took and the two days she spent in the nurse's care. "Lo-" she said softly.
"I'm glad you're ok." I assured her, reaching for her paw. Unlike two days ago in the woods, Lopunny did not flinch or pull away at my touch and seemed comforted by my presence. "Actually, if you're up to it, my Raichu is the one that stopped those boys and he'd love to see you now that you're doing a little better."
Lopunny slowly nodded and I released Raichu from his pokeball. As soon as he realized where we were he came over and grabbed Lopunny's paw. "Rai-rai" he said enthusiastically.
The two instantly started chatting back and forth, although Lopunny was still struggling to keep up with his enthusiasm and energy. After a few minutes, the nurse came back. She explained to us that Lopunny should save her energy now and that she probably still has another day or two of rest before she can leave. "With injuries this serious, however, I'll need to release her into someone's care. I can't just let her go into the wild like this."
I could feel Raichu excitedly staring up at me so I looked at Lopunny and asked "well, would you like to join us?"
For the first time since we saved her, I saw Lopunny smile as she gave a surprisingly vigorous nod. Raichu literally jumped for joy and the nurse giggled before asking us to leave and give Lopunny more rest. I let Raichu stay out of his ball as we walked back to the lobby - a decision I soon regretted as I saw the two boys from the woods enter the pokecenter. A second later I heard a very threatening growl from Raichu and had to grab his tail to keep him from charging across the room at them.
"Back in your ball!" I demanded and he looked up at me, very annoyed, before I called him back. The nurse looked knowingly at me and told me to go back into the hallway, out of sight. The nurse went and greeted the two boys and took their pokeballs, promising to take care of their pokemon quickly if they wouldn't mind waiting in the lobby.
She came back to where I was, holding their pokemon. "Raichu has to stay in his ball and you have to stay back here, out of sight. Got it?"
I nodded and she walked into her office where I soon heard her talking on her phone. After she ended the call, she left her office, winked at me as she walked by, and went back to the front counter empty-handed. "Like I said boys, it should be only a few minutes. You can have a seat over there and watch TV while you wait."
A few minutes later one of the local police officers arrived and the nurse pointed to the two boys. "What the hell?!" The first boy yelled as the officer grabbed them both and pulled them from their seats.
"I told the officer what you did to that poor lopunny and how badly she is injured. A witness saw you two beating the pokemon and came and got me. It's lucky I was able to get out there and rescue her when I did or she might have died, thanks to you two. You should be ashamed to call yourselves trainers."
"We didn't do anything!" The first boy argued in response.
"Well the witness said you did and you're just lucky you ran off before I got there with my chansey to save Lopunny."
"We didn't run off, that guy's raichu attacked-" the second boy started.
"Shut up!" The first boy interrupted.
"Oh, it's too late now" the officer said. Turning to the nurse he said "I trust you'll have their Pokemon sent to a proper trainer or breeder for care?" He turned his head to scowl at them before adding "since they will not be allowed to train anymore."
"What about the guy that attacked us with his raichu?" The second boy asked.
"My witness never mentioned him, nor have I treated a raichu recently." She turned to the officer "I will keep an eye out though because if a trainer was attacking another trainer directly with his pokemon that would be a serious crime."
"Thank you, nurse." The officer said and then dragged the two boys out of the building.
The nurse came back over and then said in a hushed tone "you obviously can't stay in town now. You can sleep in a back room tonight and then tomorrow you'll have to go. If those boys point you out to the officer, I can't help you. I hate to risk it with Lopunny, so you have to promise me you'll be careful and take good care of her. Also, she needs to stay out of her ball to heal properly. Once her leg is healed all the way and she walks without a limp, then you can capture her properly."
"Thank you so much!" I responded.
"You're welcome, now follow me to the back room and stay there until tomorrow. It may be a bit boring; I can't do anything about that. I'll come get you tomorrow when it's time to go. And there's a small kitchen and a bathroom down the hall."
It was about a week ago that I had left the Pokemon center and things were back to normal. All my pokemon were happy to have a new friend along with us, especially Raichu who seemed to be acting like a protective older brother to Lopunny. In fact, I found myself having to keep him in his ball when I had her training with any of the other pokemon as he would get upset when they attacked her.
But that particular day, it wasn't an issue because all six of my pokemon were out with me near a small stream we found while crossing a large, mostly empty field on the way to the next city. We were currently near the edge of the meadow, where it butted up to a dense forest, so we wouldn't be disturbed by any pokemon enjoying the tall grasses or the ones that frequented the shady trees. We still had a great view of the stream and meadow and a perfect amount of shade from the trees behind us. Personally, I'd say we were situated perfectly at that moment.
I told the pokemon to just relax for a while while I made food for us all. Charizard almost immediately curled himself into position to take a nap. Although, more often than not, though he appeared to be asleep and unawares, he was always quite vigilant and if anything that he perceived to be a threat was anywhere near him, he would be up and ready to face it in an instant. The other five were playfully chasing each other and chatting away, with Raichu not surprisingly hanging close to Lopunny.
I laughed at the pokemon all playfully running around and then turned my attention to preparing some food. After about 15 minutes I had made myself a small rice dish and warmed some food for each of the pokemon. They each had different tastes so I had to prepare five different types of food. Flareon and Charizard seemed to like the same food so I assumed their differences in taste preference were based on their elemental types.
When all the food was finally ready, I laid it out and yelled out to my pokemon that it was time to eat. Flareon, Grovyle, and Sandslash all bounded over to eat. "Where're Raichu and Lopunny?" I asked them. Each of them looked to each other for an answer and then shrugged, not knowing. Charizard made his way to the food and when I looked at him questioningly he shifted his gaze to the nearby woods and then settled in and started devouring his meal.
I let out a sigh and started wandering into the woods. 'Charizard will most likely have my food gone too by the time I get back if I don't find them quick' I thought to myself. I was about to shout out to Raichu when I heard a faint buzzing overhead and looked up to see a small group of beedrill gathering in a treetop. Decided it was best not to be loud and deal with them, I kept walking along silently, trying to peer through each bush and shrub to hopefully catch a glance of my missing pokemon. They most likely had run off while playing and either didn't hear me call them for lunch or were taking a nap in the shade somewhere.
The truth was not quite that simple. I did finally catch a glimpse of them in a small clearing as I walked further in, but when I walked into the clearing, I saw that they most certainly were not napping. Lopunny was lying on her back on the ground while Raichu was between her legs, doing what pokemon do naturally. At first, it was almost comical watching a barely three-foot tall raichu going at it with a pokemon that was at least a foot taller in height. After a while, though, the whole thing just seemed wrong.
I know pokemon naturally find the urge to breed, and I know about egg groupings and that they don't always stick to just their own species, but I felt like I should stop this. Luckily, I didn't have to make that decision as suddenly Raichu started to twitch and let out a "Raiii-". It was obvious that he was done. I stepped back out of the clearing and then made an approach again, making sure to step as loudly as I could. This time, I came into the clearing to see Lopunny sitting up and Raichu next to, but no longer on top of, her. "Hey guys" I said, trying not to sound awkward, "food's ready. Didn't you guys hear me calling?"
They both shook their heads and then started walking toward me.
"There're a lot of beedrill out here, so why don't you two stay in your balls until we get back to the others?" I asked rhetorically. I recalled Lopunny and then looked to Raichu and from the look he returned to me, I could tell he knew I had seen him. "Well, I guess there's no avoiding it." I said aloud and he bowed his head in embarrassment. "Have you and the other girls-" I started to ask. He quickly raised his head and shook his head vehemently so I was sure he hadn't. "Ok, well... Let's just not bring any of this up with the others." And with that I called him back to his ball.
When I got back to the meadow, the others were almost done eating and Charizard had, as I expected, eaten my food as well as his own and was lying down again, not even moving at my arrival. I let out Raichu and Lopunny so they could eat too and the other pokemon instantly perked up, but then after a glance from Raichu went back to finishing their meal.
I later realized that they most likely smelled Raichu's "scent" on Lopunny.
When they all finished eating I called them all back to their balls, saving Lopunny for last. "So, um, Lopunny..." I started nervously. She was still fairly new to the team and I didn't want to start a conversation that would make her too uncomfortable. "Earlier, with you and Raichu, did he- I mean was that, um... Was that whole thing something you wanted to happen?"
She stared at me blankly for a few seconds, as if not understanding what I was asking. I was started to get nervous that I would have to get into graphic detail or that maybe I had offended her but then she gave me a nod. "Lopun-punny."
"Well then, um, Ok." I still thought it was a bit odd but if neither of them had an issue with their "arrangement", if it was even something they planned to repeat, then I guess I had no real reason to stop them.
She seemed to know that I had decided there was no issue because I moved to recall her to her ball and she rushed forward and gave me a tight hug. After the awkward conversation, the hug seemed a bit weird. It was made weirder when it lasted a bit too long. Finally I said "time to go back in your ball Lopunny" and then recalled her. Just before I did, the look on her face let me know she was actually disappointed that I cut her hug short.
'What's gotten into my pokemon?' I thought to myself.
