Story for Vasek

You decide! Magical penny or magic well...?

Where Everyone Belongs*

Vasek sighed as he walked into the grocery store. The blue skinned, white furred mouse hated going here for one reason, he could never reach the higher shelves.

Barely under five feet, he struggled to pull one of the hand baskets that were stacked higher than he was tall. After standing on his tippy toes and giving a quick jump, he angled it to pull the one he wanted down, feeling a bit embarrassed as others walked by. Luckily, he knew where everything he wanted in the store was, and none of them were on the higher shelves.

He grabbed a few fruits and vegetable, some cheese curls, and headed towards the breakfast aisle, looking for his Super Cinnamon Crunch Cereal. But the area was instead filled with Munch Munch Wheat Flakes. They weren't to the left, and neither to the right, and no where near the bottom shelf. His ears flattened as he sighed and looked up, gulping. Yep, top shelf.

There was no way he could reach it, and climbing was too dangerous. He swallowed his pride and went towards the front end, finding two teenage females cashiers talking to each other.

"Excuse me, miss?" His voiced was drowned out as the two gabbed on, the Labrador girl going on about how hard her classes were while trying to keep up with cheer leading, and how it was unfair to load a kid with so many books. Her friend, a female otter, agreed and talked about how gym class always ruined her hair and makeup everyday. And then there was something about a guy named Jeff.

"Excuse me." Vasek spoke a bit louder, finally catching the lab's attention. She sighed and turned throwing on a fake smile.

"Hi, can I help you?" The voice definitely told him she really didn't want to.

"I just need help reaching a cereal." He looked up. She showed her friend a finger to show she would be back in a minute, and headed towards the cereal aisle, Vasek following right behind.

"Which one?" The girl asked, looking at the bottom shelves.

"The Super Cinnamon Crunch, top shelf." He pointed up, but the girl continued to slowly move up the shelves, till she eventually saw the cereal, but grabbed the store brand.

"No, no. Brand please."

"But this is cheaper." She protested.

"I know. I just like the named brands better."

The canine sighed and threw the box back up on the shelf, grabbing the named and almost shoving it into his hands.

"Anything else, sir?" Again with the fake smile and voice.

"No, thank you."

She dropped the act a bit too quickly, rolling her eyes and turning, storming off back to the front.

Once through the checkout line, he walked along the sidewalk, making sure to stay under the street lamps, as the moon cast its pale glow overhead. And although cars passed by time to time, it was a pretty deserted night. At least, until he heard the footsteps behind him.

Vasek gulped as he picked up the pace, trying to hurry back to his apartment. The footsteps picked up, it was more than one fur behind him. He gulped as he prepared himself, then sprinted, his bags flailing in the air as he ran, his pursuers following.

He gave a squeak as someone grabbed him by the scruff, throwing him onto the ground, the groceries spilling everywhere. He rolled onto his back and stared up, whimpering. A massively building bull dog grinned down, pinning the mouse roughly with his foot on his chest. His two rat cronies snickered.

"Give us all your money pipsqueak and I won't have to rough you up." He growled, cracking his knuckles. Vasek whimpered, throwing his wallet from his pocket towards a rat. He picked it up and looked inside.

"This squirt doesn't have anything! Not even a credit card!" He glared, throwing the wallet on to the street. The bull dog growled, moving his foot and pressing it against the side of Vasek's face, pinning it to the ground.

"Where's your money small fry?"

"I don't have any. I spent It on my food." He gasped out, trying to move his head to get it free, keeping this nose away from the paw. The other rat was already scooping up the groceries, the other checking Vasek's pockets to be sure.

"This guy is more broke than a bum, boss." he said, disgusted. The dog humphed, though noticing how the blue mouse was trying to stay away from the foot. He grinned, sliding it over his muzzle.

"Kiss it and I won't rough you up, runt."

His cronies snickered.

Vasek closed his eyes, gacking from the foot, but his fear was greater, and he gave it a quick kiss. The bull dog laughed.

"A broke little paw slut!" He sneered, removing his foot, but driving it straight between the mouse's chest and stomach. He cried out in a squeak of pain, clutching the spot and curling up. The trio laughed, leaving their target in a fetal position before high giving and walking off, one rat tearing into the Super Cinnamon Crunch.

Vasek whimpered as he crawled onto all fours, clutching his midsection as he struggled to stand, leaning against a wall to catch his breath. He just wanted to go home now and call the cops.

He staggered his way down the street, leaving behind his wallet as he winced with every step. It was just a quick trip through the small park and he would be home.

But he had to rest. One of his ribs definitely felt broken, and it was a bit harder to breathe. He slumped on a bench that leaned against the park wishing well. He hated being small. All his life he was picked on for his size and his small frame. It wasn't the first time he was beaten up, nor probably the last. He was always one of the little people to be stepped on.

He gritted his teeth as he sucked in the air, wincing his his chest expanded. He leaned his head back against the cold stone, exhaling to the sky before catching the glimpse of a penny laying on top of the stones of the well. Picking it up between two fingers, the thing was grimy and old, forgotten by its owner. He sighed and stood up, about to pocket it when he looked back at the well. Although a childish dream, he shrugged and flicked the penny into the dark depths of the well.

"I wish I could show everyone where they belong." He muttered, turning and walking away.

The mouse stopped suddenly when he felt a cold chill run up his spine, causing his tail to snapped straight. The coldness began to spread to his chest, before growing warm and spreading throughout his body. Vasek's breathing was rapid, the pain in his chest was gone now, only feeling the warmth. He couldn't move though, gulping as he was forced to look straight ahead. And what he saw both frightened and excited him at the same time.

Slowly, but surely, he could see things starting to pull away from him, and by that, things were getting lower. The next sensation was along his body, as if the warmth was massaging him, helping the process along as his physic began to bulk and grow, the mouse getting a small set of abs as he developed a sleek athletic build, something he had always wanted and dreamed of.

The next thing was his clothing, how it had started to stretch across his expanding frame, exposing his stomach to the night air. He wanted to explore himself so badly, to feel the changes better with his own hands, but still the invisible force held him in place as he sprouted to six feet, something he thought he never achieve as a child. But, the growth wasn't stopping. In fact, it seemed to be getting faster. Just how big was he going to get?

The sound of his shirt sleeves starting to rip, exposing more and more white fur to the cold air caused him to whimper, his jeans getting unbearably tight as his blue feet slid across the walkway. The button of his jeans shot off into the darkness as ten feet came and went, the shirt not fairing any better as it began to rip down the back, his thighs pushing through the tears in his jeans as he winced from their tightness.

He gulped. This just wasn't possible. No one could be this big. Yet here he was, starting to tower over everything. The process continued in a more rapid pace. Vasek felt his big toe push against the nearby water fountain before overtaking it.

The mouse closed his eyes. It had to be a dream, just a weird, yet fantastic dream. He repeated it over and over till he felt his arms drop to his sides, the warmth disappearing. Letting out a deep breath, he opened his eyes, expecting to be in bed in his room.

Nope. Outside, naked, and what he could only guess was he stood near 200 feet tall. He gulped down, not believing it. Any fur at a window could see him standing now. He had to get out of here.

Taking one step, his paw came down with a resounding crunch, knocking down a tree and crushing it beneath the foot. The realization slowly dawned on him from it, liking the flow of power that shot through him. He tried it again, slower this time, feeling the tree bend and snap, splintering and flattening into the ground. Then he did it again, this time fast and quick, sending a quake throughout the immediate area, setting off car alarms.

A slow grin formed on his face as furs came out to see the giant. He was big, strong, and fit. Nothing could stop him.

Another shiver went up his spine, this one of excitement as he licked his mouth, moving the foot over a group of gawkers. They realized too late what was coming as the mouse planted his foot, feeling their helpless struggles against the bottom of his leg, before applying a bit more pressure, feeling their frail forms pop and crack.

He drew in a deep breath through his teeth at the sensation, the realization that slowly dawned over him. He had just crushed a group of furs in one step. Just one! Screams rang out as everyone began to flee, stampedes of furs trying to escape from the giant's view.

A particular group though, namely a trio, caught Vasek's eye, glaring down as he stomped off. The bull dog and his two rat buddies screamed as they ran, pushing aside anyone that got in their way. Vasek followed, catching up as his feet crunched cars and left deep holes in the asphalt.

The one rat, still carrying the Super Cinnamon Crunch, tripped on the sidewalk, falling flat on his front as the cereal scattered in front of him. He turned onto his back just in time as the blue heel came crashing down, giving out one last futile scream. Vasek gave a sadistic twist of his heel before taking one more step, blocking off the other two as they ran into his blue foot.

The other rat scrambled, running behind the giant blue mouse as fast as he could. Vasek watched and smirked, whipping his tail up and cracking it down, splatting the rat like a fly with a fly swatter.

"p-please man! I'm sorry! I just needed some money ya know? Just trying to get through life!" The bull dog whimpered, backing up on his rear. Vasek sneered down, bringing up his foot and pinning the canine with his big toe.

"Kiss it you broke paw slut." He growled down. The thug whimpered, kissing the toe multiple times as he squirmed.

"There! Please! Just let me live! I'll go legit! I promise!"

Vasek seemed to ponder for a bit, before pushing full force, feeling the dog crunch.

"No."

Slowly, the giant blue mouse started to laugh, his voice ringing throughout the city as he smiled. Now it was time to show everyone where they truly belonged, under HIS feet!

His smiled turned into a wicked grin as his gaze fell onto the super market.

He was, after all, still hungry for his cereal...
