A Change in Life
#6 of The Lonely Dragon
As Kyro and Nyki drifted slowly to sleep we gave them an applause which kinda woke them right back up. Nyki got up, got her clothes, and looked at herself to say,
"When I go home I am gonna take a bath then a shower for at least an hour. Then I'm gonna lay on my tanning bed that's turned on low so I don't burn my fur. This party was awesome but I think it's time we all headed home. I'll see you guys later."
Kyro agreed with Nyki 100% and left soon as he got his clothes. After that only I, Jeff, Selena, and Verilla were left but soon as I thought that Jeff and Selena had already gone out the door. Verilla and I looked at each other then she said,
"Zynder it's getting late I think we should leave."
I got up out the chair and walked with her out the door to her house, then I went to my own house to get some sleep. I was gonna go to sleep in my dream but my alarm clock buzzed startling me out of my sleep. I rubbed the tiny pieces of debris from my eyes and looked at my clock that read 7:30. I lazily got up out of my bed and opened my closet. I grabbed a shirt, then some pants, and I got my bag. I snatched a jacket at the last minute right before I left out of house. I yawned very loudly and looked towards the school that was only a couple blocks down the street. In a glum voice I said,
"I'm glad it Friday. Ugh...I hate school!"
I started flapping my wings and I flew towards the school. Upon arriving at the dull building I retracted my wings and walked inside. I walked to a water then headed for class. When I arrived at the entrance to my teacher's door I stared at it and entered slowly to find that my teacher was not in there. I looked at the furs that were already seated, sighed, and sat at my own seat. I grabbed my sketch pad and began thinking about what to draw before the teacher came in. For some reason I kept thinking of my self as a sketch to draw. I didn't deny the idea so I began sketching with a wooden pencil. It took me a couple of minutes to finish the details but I managed to complete it right as the teacher came through the door. She came in slamming the door right behind her. She had a container full of folders that nearly fell out as she sat them on her desk. A couple of students chuckled at her fumbling to catch the folders.
When she was sure that they were stable she said,
"Ok class what I have with me are your test scores and certificates from last year. Some of you passed with flying colors and I'm proud of you for doing so. I will call you all up to my desk one at a time. I will give you a folder that has your certificates and one that has your grades on your final exams. I will start momentarily."
As Ms. Mallion stopped talking a whisper started rising from the students from their curiosity. I could care less actually so I put my head down. I wanted to go to sleep but I didn't. I sat there with my head on the graffitied desk in front of me and started toning out the whispers that turned into chatter. After a couple of minutes of quiet I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up and saw what looked like a dragon. I couldn't really see clearly so I rubbed my eyes and saw that it was Talaiya. She looked at me with a smile and said,
"Hi love. Are you feeling ok today? If your not I can make you feel better."
I sat up straight and watched her as she sat in a desk right beside mine. She scooted the desk closer to me causing it to make a small screeching sound. I looked at and said,
"Thanks, but I'm good. So....what's up?"
She looked me in the eyes, moved closer, and said, "You and me."
I felt her breathing heat on my nose, but I said nothing. I could tell that she was trying to kiss me, but Ms. Mallion called my name before she had a chance to. I went to her desk and she said,
"Zynder...I...I'm impressed with your grades and scores they're amazing. If you keep up the good work you might...no you will receive a scholarship. So keep doing good ok."
I went back to my seat and sat down with two folders in my talons. Talaiya looked at me with a gaze that meant I love you. She put her paw on top of mine and kissed me for a split second before hearing her name being called by the teacher. She did the same as I did, but unlike me she got a tail rub which was odd for a teacher to give a student. As she came back I asked,
"Are teachers really supposed to touch students like that. I mean isn't it against the rules or something." She responded by saying, "Zynder it's ok, I don't mind. In fact I think you should do that sometime. I know you'll like it and so will I."
This time instead of kissing me she blew her ice breath in my face. I amazed that my face didn't freeze, but I knew she wouldn't do that. So in return I blew back small fire balls that I knew for a fact couldn't hurt anyone. We performed these acts for at least fifteen minutes and didn't get in trouble. While this was going on I could feel myself thinking differently than before. I knew then that all the things happening around me was changing my personality. I didn't mind the change, in fact I sorta accepted it since I wasn't gloomy all the time. So I knew that if everything continued on the course that it was now I was gonna end being a totally different dragon. I was pondering all this at light speed in my mind, yet my concentration was interrupted by Talaiya, but I didn't mind. She had laid her head on my shoulder and moved her desk even closer so she would be comfortable. As she rested her head on my shoulder I thought about what she said and decided to do something. I used my tail to rub her's gently up and down.
I knew she felt it when she relaxed even more. I messaged her tail with m own and listened to her coo at the nice feeling. Before I knew it she was fast asleep. I moved my head where I could see her without waking her. She was sleep with the most beautiful smile on her face. I couldn't say much, but I whispered,
"Sleep well with happy dreams my sweet."
I didn't know what I had just said, but I know I felt very funny when I said it. As I watched her sleep it made me sleepy as well, yet I knew I wasn't going to fall asleep very easily. I fought the urge to sleep and knew I had won. I fought that strong urge the entire class. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 10:25, so I woke Talaiya up as easily as possible. I knew one way that could wake her up, but I knew I didn't want to do it. So I built up some courage, swallowed my pride, and kissed her gracefully. She opened her eyes slowly and began to kiss back. As we parted muzzles she said in a soft voice,
"I don't know if anyone has ever told you this, but you are a greatest kisser I have ever been fortunate to lock muzzles with. "
Right after she said that the bell rang. We both stood up and walked towards the door together, hugged, and went our separate ways. I went to my next class right after Talaiya left. I walked in the class to see Mr. Tusk sitting at his desk like he always is on his computer. I walked past his desk and sat down right next to the window. Then I began to daydream looking as if I were staring out of that transparent window. Though this time I didn't dream about the tiger, I started dreaming about Talaiya. I looked around and saw my neighborhood, so I knew I was right by my house. I turned towards my house, twisted the doorknob, and started to walk in. I took one step hen I heard fast paced footsteps getting closer to me. When I turned around I found myself trying to catch a dragon throwing herself at me. Of course I caught her, but it was a little unexpected. I went inside my house with her in my arms. I carried her to my room so she could lay on my bed.
I sat next to her as she laid peacefully on my bed. I sighed for a long time before saying,
"You really need to be more careful. I mean I'm glad I caught you, but thinking about the opposite of what just happened...it wouldn't have been good. Not for you or me."
I turned to look at her, but instead she kissed me. Right after I found myself being pushed down until I was laying on my bed. When she stopped kissing me I started feeling a weight on my stomach. Then that's when I found out that she was sitting on top of me. She flung her hair and said,
"If you didn't catch me I would have been alright. I mean everyone does stupid things and that was just one of them. So now I am going to congratulate you for catching me and showing so much affection for my safety."
As she was talking she started to unbutton her pink polka dotted shirt revealing her bra slightly. My eyes started to widen a little as she finished opening her shirt. I was just about to receive another kiss from her, but someone slammed the classroom door snapping me out of my daydream. I look towards the door to see an alligator. I thought to myself and remembered that there weren't any alligators here before now. As the whole class stared he looked at the door, then at the other furs, and shakily said,
"Uh....sorry about that.. My last school had rusty doors, so we had to pull them a little bit harder."
All the furs went back to their previous actions before he came in. He sat in front of me, sat his bag on his desk and pushed his head into it. I tilted my head a little wondering what's wrong with him. As I straightened my head back up I heard a female voice say,
"I bet your wondering what's wrong with him aren't you? Eh...I am too."
I turned my head to see Talaiya sitting peacefully in her chair. I tilted my head down, shook it a little, then said,
"So you have 2 classes with me? Well...I guess I am wondering what's wrong with him. Yet I don't believe there's anything I can do, but I guess....I'll try."
So I got up, sat right next to the gator, and stuttered to say,
"Hey what's up?"
He wasn't crying, yet I couldn't tell if he was upset or not. So he lifted his head a little, looked in my direction, then lifted his whole head off of his bag. As he looked at me a small smile formed on his maw.
"I don't think anyone has the same courage as you. I can tell just by looking at you that your aura is made up of more than one element. I can see darkness which is the strongest, then there's light, and also there's a very very powerful depression deep inside you," my eyes opened up greatly at what the gator had just said.
I responded, "So....furs and scalies avoid you since you have an ability they don't have. So when you tell them their aura or personality, they freak out. So basically to sum everything up, your lonely, you have no friends, and you used your ability on me to see if it would push me away"
He looked at me and stuttered, "You summed everything up in seconds. Do you have that ability as well and what are you going to do?
All I said was, "The name's Zynder. Sup?!"
