The Metamorph planet Pt1
#113 of Exploration
Two weeks after a fun filled trip to Bonneville Salt Flats to test everyone's vehicles at full tilt, we were informed by Silverine that we would be taking the Hunted on a trip to a new planet. Strength being in numbers, this meant Deltora, Runo, Sunrise, Hinori, Ryan Lewis, Polymorph, Orion and Kodey. We also had Silverine, because Kodey was there, and we had Alex, because he hadn't been on a Hunted trip. Salbar and Javid were being rested, the wolf had a meeting to attend on his home planet, and Salbar was undergoing a ritual of purification of body and soul along with the Elders.
I still had the glower merged with me, he was most enjoyable and seemed to be enjoying it too. It had been one calendar month since I had merged with the glower, and he jokingly informed me that maybe he should just stay in me. I was not quite so sure about that myself. I enjoyed Keen's company, but Keen was a separate entity, and he should live his own life, not live mine. But for now I was still merged.
We assembled, the thirteen of us, in the Great Hall, and I volunteered to land on the new planet first. There was still a great deal of opinion that only a lunatic would do this and enjoy it, but then my sanity was not up to scratch anyway, even I admit it. So at seven o'clock on the dot, I hit my teleporter, and I vanished.
Read every other mention of teleportation. I do not open my eyes during teleportation, end of argument.
I landed hard in a room. There was a wince worthy crack as I landed, and I looked around rapidly. I seemed to be in a public toilet of some sort, several cubicles lined one side, and basins to wash in lined the other. Two were in use, and I very cautiously peeked around the corner to the exit.
There was a creature approaching me. A blend of half bull, half wolf, walking on all fours was walking directly towards here. I almost froze, but the creature spotted me before I could duck my head back in.
It showed absolutely no reaction to me what so ever. In fact it grunted a moody greeting, walked past me, and into a vacant cubicle. There was the sound of a door shutting, and then another crack. I looked past confused.Bafflement would have described it. Then there was the flushing of another toilet, and a creature walked out.
This was definitely not the first creature I had seen. This was more avian, pure white wings and a silky, white plumage all down it's front, with a half humanoid head. It's feathers looked beautiful.
It made for the sinks, and I did too. We both turned on the taps at the same time, and cold water washed over my hands. I turned to the avian.
"Greetings."
"Good afternoon, having a good day?"
"Quite a good one, thank you, and you?" I replied formally.
"Excellent. Could I just ask a question of you?"
"Name it." I replied, smiling, hoping it wasn't what I thought it might be.
"What do you think of this form?" it asked, surveying it's own wings with what I considered to be interest. I paused.
"I think you look magnificent. The wings, yes, so elegant. That's a really good colour too." I suggested, trying to think what on Central was going on.
"Really? That's so kind of you. I thought it was this or bronze. Your opinion?"
"White's your colour, definitely." I was still lost.
"Thank you. May I say that your form is most handsome. I really like how shapely it is." I blushed, and upon seeing this he did too.
"Ahhh, thank you." I smiled brightly, wondering again for the second time in as many minutes what in God's name was going on. He came over.
"Is it your favourite form?"
"Yes." I nodded."I use it practically all the time, it's so multi purposed."
The avian extended a feathered arm, it's claws open in friendly intention. I shook his hand gently, and spoke.
"My name's Alduin."
"I am Giancarlo. I just finished work at the patent office. You have no idea, nine and a half hour shifts, honestly."
"I feel for you."I nodded in sympathy. Giancarlo smiled, and made to leave. I walked with him.
And stepped into a new world. It was incredible. The imagination was dulled by what I saw. Every creature, every species, every half thought of a being, was represented in some way. There was easily ten thousand in the large park we were in, it extended for a mile or so. Buildings surrounded the park, high rise buildings. But the incredible thing was the creatures.
To put it this way, there was everything here. Mechanoids, moving plant like creatures, avians, reptiles, mammals, amphibians. It was the perfect equilibrium of species. I noticed lots of wheeled vehicles moving around, flying devices, so many things it was staggering. A riderless motorbike headed towards us, flying along the gravel path at high speed, weaving through the pedestrians. As it came to me and Giancarlo, it changed into a reptile on two legs with a crack, and with a wave to the avian, walked into the toilets.
The answer hit me like a cold bath. These were all shape shifters. I was in the middle of a city, a metropolis of metamorphing creatures, who could change their size, shape and species at will. Giancarlo turned to me, I had stopped in disbelief. There were multi throated gasps from my headset, all my comrades were in awe.
"Alduin? Is there something wrong?"
"I just thought of a new form." I changed into my Raptor form, and Giancarlo laughed.
"Now that is sleek. Those wheels don't look good for running on anything."He changed form, mirroring me.
"It's a flying form." I replied, changing back, and walking forward with a smile.
"Good choice, Alduin. Now, how about some dinner? I know a good restaurant, you intrigue me so much I would like to know you better."
"Likewise, Giancarlo." I smiled.
"So, follow me." Giancarlo changed form. There was a loud crack, and he rose into the air, flying down the path at low level, say three metres. I threw a scanner into some dense foliage, and then changed into my Rage off roader, charging along the gravel after the avian. This was astonishing.
"Indeed, Alduin. I have never seen anything like this, it is most unexpected."
Coming from a glower, that was high disbelief. There was the sounds of people teleporting in my headset, but my friends could work out for themselves what they could do. I was trying to keep up with my new friend, for Giancarlo set a devil pace, and I had to drive around the multitude of creatures.
He landed at the end of the park, standing next to a wide road that had a couple of modernistic cars. This is to say they did touch the ground, and had wheels. Giancarlo smiled as I came to a screeching halt beside him.
"You move fast on the ground, Alduin. I must have that idea from you."
"A friend worked on it with me, we had endless fun racing around."
"Have you patented it?"
"No, why should I have?"
"Some people are rather, harsh with their ideas. They feel if they come up with a new idea, they can keep it, and no one else can use it. That's where I come in, I check the list of patents, and current form trends and tell them whether it's possible or not. For example, right above you."
A very large blimp was going across the sky at a leisurely pace.
"He came up with it not two weeks ago, and had registered it with us. Of course, most of us don't care with registering, and these legal battles can get rather tedious so no-one really minds."
"It must be a boring job." I continued looking at the blimp.
"Oh, it has it's moments. But yes, it pays well, but you a need a book or something to keep you occupied. I only do it three days a week, I feel sorry for Blundelo, he does it six days a week."
He crossed the road, me in tow. There was a nice restaurant down the road about fifty yards, and Giancarlo led me into it.
The avian sat down at a window table, and I pulled a seat that fitted me. The clientele was the same rich blend, there was an insect much like a praying mantis talking to a oozy green, squat creature at the next table.
"I must disagree, his form suits the instrument he plays, fingers are required for a string piece." the insect clicked, it's high pitched voice reasonable.
"I would have thought tentacles would have given better control." the oozing creature, who had four himself, replied courteously.
The arrival of a furred elk with menus signified the ending of the eaves dropping on this peculiar conversation. I activated my optical translator on my glasses, and scrolled down the menu. Beside them each was a price not incomparable with a dignified restaurant on Earth. A gold coin either way should sort it.
I pulled out my wallet and drew out one of my Centralite coins. Giancarlo gave a small oath of surprise.
"Is that Zephryum?" I handed him the coin.
"It is of the finest quality, you must be immensely rich to carry one." he looked at me in calculation.
"I am reasonably rich yes. I have many of those."
Giancarlo handed it back to me."You could probably buy half the menu for that piece."
"I'll keep the change. Tell you what, if you tell me about this place, I shall pay for both of us. I am a bit of a traveller."
"Do you mind what I buy?" Giancarlo smiled.
"Not at all.As I said, I carry a couple of these." I pocketed the coin. Giancarlo smiled wider, and looked through his menu.
I ordered a vegetarian dish that was none too expensive nor much than plain, on account of my delicate stomach. My avian friend ordered a special meal of steak and special vegetables with a variant of rice.
Then he began to give me the facts of the city. Population was 475,000 of these creatures, roughly, and I could see the tech for myself so I didn't need to ask. I already knew about what they were, so I didn't bother that either. Meanwhile the tentacle creature was getting more extravagant with his gestures, and finally I had to duck as one bold tentacle came flying over my head in a sweeping statement, completely unaware of my presence. The insect was trilling a harsh staccato counterpoint to the oozy voice of the tentacle creature.
Giancarlo looked at me as I raised my head from my duck.
"I think someone's form should be minus such lengthy protrusions."
On the back gesture, I lifted my hand, and the tentacle wrapped around it. I turned around to look at the oozy creature as two stalked eyes looked at me. I lowered four fingers, leaving the index pointed up in my familiar Excuse me way.
"You just about bowled me over that last time, sir."
"Sorry, I didn't see you there." the tentacle flexed and unravelled from my arm. I looked at the ooze on my arm, it was a dark green.
"Thank you." I said with a smile, and the squat creature went back to it's conversation with the praying mantis. I wiped the ooze off my arm with a napkin, and then our meals arrived. Giancarlo thanked the, leopard? Wasn't he an elk five minutes ago? Whatever. Then we both began eating.
The vegetarian stir fry was delicious, after doing a quick check to see whether they were palatable with my glasses. I refrained from checking on my companion's progress, they should be all right.
I subtly questioned Giancarlo on many subjects, he was very open to me, and we ate as we talked for a good twenty minutes. I noticed that there were few people metamorphing in the public areas, although several creatures went to the lavatories and came out as something different. I also noticed with amusement a tapestry on the wall which was sliding steadily towards the kitchen, a questing tassel reaching out for an after dinner mint. The tapestry itself had a marching army unrolling across it, and looked perfectly ancient and dormant, reminding me of the Bayeux tapestry, had it not been shivering and stretching itself.
I also noticed a ornate chandelier was yawning periodically, it's light brightening briefly. This was the only chandelier that was out of eight, and Giancarlo confirmed it.
"Yes, that one is experimenting with mechanical devices. Did you notice the artwork on the wall?" he referred to the tapestry.
The cook had spotted the rogue piece of art trying to run off with the desserts, and was beating the corner of the fabric with his spatula.
"Here, get off! I said, after!"
"It's not exactly hard to miss." I laughed.
"He always said he wanted an audience, he wanted to be looked upon."
"I think a tapestry is a very good form then. It looks like a battle scene."
"Shavristir, 4079. It was a good battle, from what he says."
"And shows!" I laughed again, and Giancarlo laughed with me.
With this delightfully informal conversation being brought to an end, Giancarlo stood.
"I had better be off home. Where are you staying?"
"I haven't booked into a hotel yet.Are you prepared to accept a temporary resident?"
The pure white avian smiled." Well, you did pay for my dinner."
"About to, I said about to." I replied hastily, and he laughed. I noticed the sun was setting, the sky was beginning to darken. I stood and walked towards the leo...nope, it was an elk again. Giancarlo stood beside me, and the elk told us the final amount. I drew out my gold coin, and placed it on the counter.
There was a surprisingly long pause. The tapestry stopped reaching for the canapes, the cook had shifted the desserts out of reach, and every head or stalked eye looked at me. There was a lot of money in this coin.
The elk tried carefully to keep his face blank as he handed me some paper money, and I pocketed my wallet, smiling at Giancarlo. We both turned, and then walked straight into a golem.
No kidding.Eight foot high, made of rock, and looking nastily at me.
"This is a toll bridge."
"Troll bridge." I looked skywards, weapons bouncing off the counter-top as the golem folded his hands. Giancarlo scowled.
"Hands off, mate." The avian extended his claws, and his wings rippled.
"No, Giancarlo, I can deal with this." I raised a hand in a peace gesture at the avian, and he lost his tensed fight pose, looking at me with curiosity.
I sat on the counter top, and looked at the floor underneath the golem's feet. There was a basement down there, and about three metres of air before the next wooden floor.I looked up at the golem.
"Give my regards to the rats." I said, concentrating. The floor gave way in a perfect circle around the golem's feet, and he disappeared into the blackness. Giancarlo straightened up.
"How did you do that?" he asked, as there was a crash from down below.
I shrugged."It's a knack."I snapped my fingers, and a single whisp of flame ignited hovering above my thumb.I blew it out, walked around the hole, and bumped into the golem's mate. He was burly and reptilian, and I sighed with annoyance.
"The first person to touch me will have to glue themselves together, is that clear?"
The reptiloid growled, and hunkered down. I grabbed his hand and stared into his eyes as he was inadvertently thrust forwards. He met my eye contact, and collapsed on the ground, snoozing before he hit the polished wood. I brushed my hands together with an air of impatience, and walked towards the door, Giancarlo in tow. The avian was looking highly amazed at this power show, but also amused at the nonchalant way I had dealt with the two.
Without asking me a thing, he led me the short distance to his flat.It was on the fourth floor of a modern tech building.
The flat was mostly bare. There was a double bed, a wardrobe of clothes, but very little in the way of personal effects. Giancarlo explained that the number of times people changed their forms, it was hard to find something to fit every form. Some things were universal , bed, shower, food, but a lot weren't. As he shut and locked the door, it had one of those chain bolts on it, good protection, he showed me to the bathroom, the toilet and the bedroom. Then he went in to the bathroom for a shower.
I walked in with him. I noticed Giancarlo had been wearing trousers, but they were made to look like his normal body, so it was hard to tell without prior warning. The hot water burst from the shower head, and the avian stripped down, testing the water with a clawed hand.
"Alduin." he began.
"Yes?"
"Where did you learn that power? You just looked at him, and he fell asleep. You have so much power within you."
"Giancarlo, I am merely gifted with the ability to manipulate the world the way I want it to be. If I wanted, I could summon the weather, when I get angry I can vaporise things. This gift is one not taken lightly, but I have been granted it."
"Which makes me ask the second question. Where are you from? You are not from this city, nor this world, for I saw your look of disbelief when you walked out of the lavatories. You had never seen the spectacle before."
"Sharp eyesight, Giancarlo. You are right, of course. I am an explorer from a different planet, my purpose here is to find out what lives here, and whether it is friendly to off world creatures. This involves finding out technology, race, religion and so many other things. You have found me out entirely, but can you accept me for what I am, and leave it at that?"
"Oh, I was never in any fear as to your identity.I was intrigued, more curious than scared. You act superbly well in front of people, but you are a polite person. I was never worried about my safety."
"You're a damn sight more sensible than lots of people, Giancarlo. I have had people run screaming when they found out, or prostrate themselves to their gods as they saw us."
"I am a philosophical fellow, Alduin. Besides, you treat everyone nicely, you were not harsh to the guy with his tentacles, it doesn't matter whether you come from here or not. Just one thing?"
"This is the second question, Giancarlo. But go ahead."
"Does your race have advanced technology to get here, to understand us.Surely we don't speak the same language as you do, and you caused no panic on arrival."
"Correct again. I have a translator, which allows me to understand languages I couldn't. I have an optical translator which allows me to read things, like a menu, and Central has a special method of teleportation of great distances."
"Central, this being your exploring outfit?"
"Yes, Giancarlo. It is a fantastic place, much like here, except only one has powers of true shape shifting like your kind do, and even he hovers above the ground, so you could tell."
"It sounds like a fun place, could I visit it?"
"That could possibly be arranged. Would you disguise yourself to look like others?"
Giancarlo looked offended." I would not, Alduin. If I was confronted by someone, I would certainly be able to look mostly like them, but we have a code of agreement, not to impersonate other beings. You sound suspicious of such a power."
"With good reason, the one I spoke of impersonated me for several hours in an effort to get to Central.I'm sorry if I offended you."
"Well, you are not one of us, I can accept you are not privileged to understand our ways." the avian replied graciously, and stepped under the hot water of the shower.
"Am I allowed a shower after you, Giancarlo?" I asked.
"By all means, I was wondering if you were going to ask."
"Well, being the host you have every right to go before me." I replied.
"Alduin," he said, as I began stripping," you have the ability to change forms, yet you say you are not a shape shifter."
"I am not, Giancarlo. I have four forms as you call it. My normal self, this one here, a steel covered version of the same thing, and two interchangeable mechanical forms. This is because I was implanted with a special DNA on one of the planet's I visited."
"You sound like you lead an interesting life style." Giancarlo suggested, although I couldn't see his face behind the wood of the shower in the corner. One side was a curtain, one was a wall, the other two backed onto the side of the room.
"Putting it mildly." I replied, walking over to the shower and opening the curtain a bit.
Giancarlo looked at me, the avian's eyes looking in interest at my nakedness.
"So this is the real thing?" he asked.
"Yes. Do shape shifters have a original form?"
"Nope, from gestation we are constantly changing. My mother said I shifted forms on twenty five occasions during her birth to me.Twenty five forms in six hours, due to the pain I was going through."
"I don't think I've had twenty five forms with my robotic forms full stop." I smiled, sashaying through the curtain next to the naked and wet avian. The shower head was quite high, to deal with the tallest forms I supposed, and the torrent was vertical, bouncing off both of us. Giancarlo looked somewhat shy of my presence in the shower itself.
"Er, didn't you want me to finish, first?" he said, blushing a decidedly un-avian shade of red.
I shook my head."I don't mind at all.In fact I like what I see."
His cock hung down unerect, and he caught my slight glimpse. His shade would have gone redder, and he gently kicked his foot against the steel floor of the shower.
"You want to?" he asked, fully embarrassed.
I made him sit down on the floor of the shower, his legs spread eagled (pun not intentional), and his wings folded neatly behind him. With the shower pouring water over both of us, I gently licked the base of his white cock. It was not covered in feathers, the only part of his body that wasn't.
Giancarlo looked somewhat scared, doubtless he had never experienced this form of sex play.
"What are you doing?" he asked, and then shivered as he felt a tremor of pleasure.
"It's called oral sex, have you never had it before?"
"No, no." Giancarlo shook his head rapidly.
"Do you want me to stop doing it?" I asked politely. The avian thought on this.
"I trust you know what you're doing."
I licked him gently a few more times, and his cock rose to full with excitement. He was a good thirteen inches, not bad for a six foot seven avian, and he shivered as I began to gently suckle on his member.
"This feels, so, nice." he managed to whisper.
"It's meant to, Giancarlo. It's sex, remember?"
"Not like the sex I've had before." the avian replied.
"Well, let's change that. Are you a dominant fellow?" I asked, and then contrived to look surprised as Giancarlo shook his head with vigour.
"No, Alduin. I do not feel in control being in a position of power."
"Oh well, just follow me." He lay back as I began to rise and fall on his cock, sucking it with the utmost delicacy. With one hand I played with his testicles, and the other held his leg steady, for he shifted, unfamiliar with this new method.
But while he had never experienced it, he was quite prepared to lie still and obey my instructions as I suggested. He was much like Kodey was with Silverine, except he was a damn sight bigger than Kodey. He had enough knowledge of sex, because he spoke.
"Alduin, if I joined this Central, would you be my master?"
I looked up in surprise, and Giancarlo flushed.
"I have offended you, I apologise."
"No, Giancarlo, I was not offended. Are you a curious sort of fellow?"
"Yes, reasonably. I was curious of you." the avian seemed unsure where this was going.
"Well, that's the main qualification. Are you good with weaponry?"
"I have handled guns before, I wasn't very good with them, but I can hit a target."
"It's occasionally necessary, that's all." I said, thinking as I stroked his cock, thinking on it.
"I can learn, Alduin. But would you be my master if I joined?"
"Do you want me to?" I asked.
"Yes. I love you a lot, you're out spoken, friendliness, I have, in a way, fallen for you."
"There are others in Central, but if you are truly a curious and interested scout, then that will only whet your appetite. We have many different races."
"How many?" Giancarlo asked.
"Many, maybe more than fifty." I hazarded.
"Are there many like you?" he asked, shifting as my stroking gave him another small tingle of pleasure. I smiled.
"I am the only human with transforming power, there are two more who look like me."
"Then, Alduin, could you please consider me? It sounds like such a fun place, and it sounds better than doing my other job."
"I have a part time job on my planet too, Giancarlo, you cold easily hold down a job here and yet work on Central."
Giancarlo moaned in reply, unable to utter anything under his approach to climax. I continued my slow but seductive oral sex, and his breath came in short gasps. He stiffened, the moment approaching, but I continued at this rate, giving it time to build up from the very roots inside him.
He panted, and then with a eagle screech let go a jet of semen into my mouth. I allowed it to spill out from my mouth and wash away down the drain, while milking the avian until he stopped. Giancarlo exhaled deeply, and his breathing resumed to normal as he looked at me with a look of gratitude.
"Alduin, that was, wow."
I swallowed the lot in my mouth, and sat back against the opposite wall, my legs mirroring Giancarlo's except over the top of his where we crossed.
The avian found enough composure to make a sentence.
"I would love to get involved in Central, what must I do?" he asked.
"Nothing til tomorrow. We have some sleep to catch up on, and then tomorrow we can begin things. Do you work tomorrow?"
"No, this is start of my four days off." Giancarlo replied," And how am I supposed to get to sleep with the prospect of this Central?"
"Well, I could pull it off by two ways." I replied innocently.
"Not yet!" he remembered about my borrowed power, and then added, " Besides you haven't got off, master."
"So how are you going to do that?"
"Not orally, I have no experience trying that, and I would mess it up." Giancarlo said firmly. How could anyone mess it up that badly? Giancarlo got onto all fours, and crawled on top of me. He pulled me forwards, wrapped his legs around me, and sat down deeply on my cock. I made to begin thrusting of my own, but Giancarlo placed his hands on my shoulders.
"No, master, let me do all the work, you did the same for me." he replied, and began to rise and fall on my cock.
There was a buzzing noise from my head set. I sighed in irritation with whoever it was, their timing was right off. I reach out of the shower and grabbed my glasses, fitting them on while Giancarlo rose and fell on me.
"Alduin." I said briskly.
"Ah, wondered where you had got to, you rogue truant." Silverine said in my head set.
"I have been finding out about this place, mingling with my usual profficency." I said with all the hauteur I could manage in Centralite.
The Lupogriff chuckled."That bad, huh? What have you been doing?"
"I was engaging in conversation with an avian, or current avian, called Giancarlo. We talked a lot over dinner and at his flat.I'll send you the clip of the restaurant."
"Right, are you still at his flat?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"I asked politely if he didn't mind a house guest for the night, and he said sure. Then he revealed that he guessed I wasn't from this planet because of my stall outside the toilets."
Said avian was looking a bit worried at this rapid and fluent unknown language. I calmed him down with a gentle hand on his shoulder.
"I couldn't blame you, we were all stunned as well. So what lie did you tell him?"
"I told him the truth, and he was rapt with curiosity. He wants to join Central."
There was a mock sigh."Alright, Alduin, we'll see you when?"
"Tomorrow in the park, O.K.?"
"Perfectly. We were all assembling there anyway." the Lupogriff replied.
"Right, see you in the morning." I got confirmation and switched off the damn thing, placing it back outside the shower. Giancarlo looked at me in slight apprehension.
"Who was it?"
"The same guy you're going to meet tomorrow. He wanted to know where I had got to, so I gave him a potted description of events." he nodded, and resumed his riding on my cock.
