Murphy finds himself alone at a Halloween party as his friends abandon him in favor of female pursuits.

There was a large crowd at the Golden Oxen club, the musics was low with eerie yet harmonious beats that the patrons spoke to each other. The crowd was mixed species with the dominant species being surprisingly lions, the pride was the guest of honor within in the club. Murphy watching them as he adjusted the hockey mask on his face, the costume party was a bit of a hit with the various animals dyed to look other animals. Murphy’s own costume was that of a hockey masked serial killer, this was his first time in a gathering of so many uplifted animals.

Murphy felt small looking at the large lions that moved around the club just mingling. Something about being so close to the various zoo animals that only just a few years ago would have had him running or screaming for the hills. The Caucasian male stood only five foot and seven inches which made his costume seem more like a joke than the intimidating figure he was trying to convey at the costume party.

Murphy watched curiously as a male lion with a shaved mane and black dye walked past him while conversing with woman dressed as the cowardly lion from The Wizard of Oz. Murphy watched as one of his friends chatting to his side with a female Tapir, the entire setting was surreal with all the animals just mingling as if this was always the way thing were.

“Such a big party and you’re the only guy with a frown on his face, how come?” The bartender asked with smile before placing a Jagerbomb, “It’s on the house if you tell me a what’s going on. I don’t like sadness in my bar on Halloween night.”

“Eh. It’s nothing too bad. I’m here with my friends and it’s supposed to be a guys night out with a little bar hopping.” Murphy started before taking a deep swig of the drink. “Now I feel like my friend are just a bunch of animal fuckers trying to get some ass.” Murphy grumbled darkly.

“Ah…” The bartenders expression changed to a guarded one, “Well let me ask you a question mate.” The bartender pours another drink, “If one of these ladies started chatting you up, would you just tell her no?”

“I’m going to have a take pass on that, I mean before this uplifting phase… Well I’m used to just seeing animals shitting in the grass and barking at things.” Murphy said keeping his voice low, the last thing he wanted to do was offend some lion that was nearby.

“I get you. It’s weird but think about it only a few years back, this country allowed gays to marry, before that interracial marriage was the hot button issue.” The bartender continued before pushing a drink down to a Beagle sitting on the bar stool at the other end of the bar.

“I know I know! Acceptance of the animal kingdom is the big political issue an anyone who thinks different is just a species-ist.” Murphy drank down his second Jagerbomb. “I mean I don’t hate them but I think that after all humans have done isn’t screwing dogs and sheep a step back?” He mumbled as he felt the burn of the alcohol down his throat.

“It’s a little more than that, it’s more of a real connection. We’ve been eating and killing them since we’ve been around on this mud ball.” The bartender rinse out a glass and smiled. “Now they can talk. I’m not saying that they are people but they are much smarter. If it helps any just think of it as them evolving to get closer to where we’ve been for many years.”

“I feel like a jerk but being stood up by my friends so they can hopefully get a shot at a lion, sheep or whatever… kinda pisses me off.” Murphy admitted honestly as he tried to focus his thoughts in a way that didn’t make him sound like an asshole.

“Hmph. I’ve got an idea.” The bartender smiled, “I’m going to charge you for this next drink but if you do what I say, I’ll cut your current tab in half. Are you game?”

Murphy’s eyes lit up at the idea of getting his bill lowered but he kept a bit of hesitation in his heart as he nodded at the bartender. “Sure. Just don’t get me mauled being a smart ass.” Murphy commented with a half hearted chuckle.

The bartender gave a nod and passed out a few drinks, Murphy drowned his curiosity in the tang of his second Jagerbomb. The drink felt like heaven in mouth even with the burn, he was already ready to leave the party. As he gazed to the side he noticed one of his friend leaving to go to a smaller table with a small group of tapirs and a lion dressed like a clown.

Murphy turned to his left and immediately noticed a blond muzzle pointed in his face. The canine smiled as she looked at him with a drink set in a bowl in front of her. She smile at him while panting, before giving a quick lap to her greatly diluted drink.

“Thanks for the drink, Jason.” The standard poodle said with a grin on her face she was dyed blond on the head and the rest of her was a dyed flesh pink. “So how are you enjoying the party?” She asked while her white puff of a tail wagged from the barstool.

“Um yeah. So what are you supposed to be?” Murphy asked as the bartender snickered from behind the counter.

“Oh yeah I’m supposed to be one of the stereotypical valley girls from a slasher flick.” She said before raising her paws up to her chest, she has a bikini on that was filled with her trimmed fur and stuffing which gave her the appearance of a human like bust. She also wore panties to compliment the entire costume.

“I’m like so totally going to have sex in the woods.” She said with a giggle as she lapped into her drink a little more. “Sure hope Jason doesn’t get me.” She teased while licking her muzzle.

“Heh. You’re pretty good.” Murphy admitted before polishing off his drink. “Can I get another?” He asked the bartender as the music changed from the haunting tunes to Monster Mash as many of the patron started to clamor to the dance floor.

“So I’m Felicia. Kinda funny name for a dog but whatever, I was born with it so I’ll keep it.” She said before poking her nose into her drink and finishing it off with a happy lick. “So what about you Jason, what brought you to this part.”

Murphy paused with a frown as he through about his friends abandoning him in favor of animal companions. “Well to be honest I came out to have a guy’s night out but they found others interest in the paws and hooves of the ladies. My real name is Murphy by the way.” The man gave an annoyed grunt before pouring some of his drink into the poodles bowl.

“Aw that sucks. Well what about you, I mean you got me this drink and if I take a lap of what you just poured in my glass I’ll be unconscious annnnnnd...” Felicia grinned widely before poking Murphy in the side with a paw. “I’ll be unable to run from Jason.” She teased as he tail wagged rapidly.

Murphy admitted to himself that talking was Felicia was a little relaxing, he was curious about the uplifted animal but didn’t want to pry to much to soon. “So that just a little Jaeger and energy drink would put you down so easily? A girl your size should be able to handle that little bit.”

“Hahaha maybe if I was human. This stuff is nearly lethal the way humans drink it, when I order they have to water down the drink to just enough not to kill us. 151 has taken out it’s fair share of dogs to the point were it’s illegal for us to just buy a drink from a normal liquor store.” Felicia said with a curious glance around the room and a sniff.

Murphy smiled and just watched as she took on a certain grin before looking at a large brown mutt with shaggy fur sitting in a chair with a male dressed as Cupid. “Is that your boyfriend?” Murphy asked curiously.

“Ha, I’m not a lesbian that mutt is my friend, we came together but the smell she is giving off mean that I’m pretty much going home alone.” Felicia said with an annoyed huff, “Um…” She looked at Murphy hopefully, her brown eyes and intent stare reminded him of his pet as a child begging for food.

“Oh is this the part where you ask me for bacon, puppy?” Murphy chuckle and reached over to pet her but stopped. “Oh wow. I’m sure that was offensive as hell. I’m sorry.” He said feeling like a jerk from being so insensitive to the poodle.

Felicia looked to the side and chuckled a bit, “What is with humans and thinking just because we can speak that we suddenly don’t like being touched or we are above a simple belly rub.” She turned her head with a big grin before breaking out in her valley girl voice. “So um like, Jason, your a big scary male. Like we should totally ditch this place and go to the lake, like nothing bad would totally ever happen at the lake.”

Murphy chuckled at her impression, the alcohol doing more for his humor than her joke did. “I’m not sure if your are joking or being sarcastic.” He did reach over and pet her as the Monster Mash song came to a close, the dance floor was cleared as the patron went back to drink and relax.

“It’s not a joke, this really isn’t my kinda place. I like being outside the smells, the slightly better air and the enjoyment of good company. My friend is already going with Cupid and I’m the only bimbo in here without a monster.” She said with the same soulful expression as before.

“Um I don’t think that such a good I-” He started before the bartender cleared his throat at the pair.

“I couldn’t help but over hear that two folks were going to leave. If they leave now I might forget that either of them had a large bill and just assume that the card got lost.” The bartender dropped the not to subtle hit as he placed both of there credit cards on the table. “Along with the promise to return for repeat business in the future.”

Felicia tail was wagging to hard that she was slightly causing the stool to turn. She looked at Murphy for approval, his face was hidden behind the mask but his body language was one of defeat which only made her heart leap for joy as he nodded. “Yay. Let’s go get lost in the woods.”

The bartender removed his hands from the card and slipped the other card the padding of the canine. He gave a smile to the man in the Jason mask before waving them off, he didn’t feel like he needed to say anything else as they slipped off the stools. He went back to his duties as a bartender as the night wore on.

Murphy stepped out of the bar into the cool Autumn air, the soft clicks on the pavement from the canine was the only sound between them. “So I guess this is the part where I walk you home? Kinda old fashioned don’t you think?” Murphy held the rubber machete in his hand with a grin under his mask.

“Not at all. Dogs walk all the time.” Felicia chuckled and started walking toward the alleyway.

“So you want to walk with Jason in a dark alleyway at night?” He snickered before huffing to the tune of the Friday the Thirteenth theme.

“Oh no. Help me, Jason gonna get meeeee.” Felicia teased as she hopped and between the garbage in the alleyway as Murphy followed along with her.

“Awwww your not getting into the mood. Chase me.” Felicia whined before raising her tail and wagging her butt at Murphy. “I’m all dressed up for the beach, I’m going to do something naughty. I hope Jason doesn’t get me.”

Murphy smirked under his mask and started to slowly stalk her with his rubber machete held out like it was the real deal. She continued to tease and taunt him as he tried to catch her through the trash filled corridor. Her speed made him feeling like she was greased lightening, as they neared the exit she finally stood still long enough for him to manage to get a hold on the back of her bra strap.

Murphy gazed at her as she waited in his grip with those soulful eyes gazing back at him, for a moment he could understand what appeal his friends had with the animals. They were so playful that it was hard to think of them as just funny talking animals out of a badly animated cartoon. Murphy was shocked when Felicia skillfully flicked his mask down with a paw before licking him on the face, he release her in surprise as he wiped his face of the alcohol scented saliva.

“Hey! No fair.” Murphy complained with a smile as he followed her down the side walk, she continued to pace down the road while giving him only moments to catch up before nimbly dodging away. He was having much more fun with the canine as she played around, they passed a brown bear with a gold ring painted on his belly with a cub in two that had a gold moon painted on his forehead.

They came to an small apartment after a few hours of walking, Murphy was gasping for air while Felicia panted near him. They both chuckled at each other before Felicia looked to the apartment, “Well this is my home.” She announced before walking to a doggy door, a small device beeped under her fur before the automatic doggy door opened. Felicia pressed a button with her nose which opened the door with a loud buzz.

Murphy held the door open, “So um… I had a good time and well…” Murphy felt awkward trying to say good bye to the female, the words just wouldn’t come out right.

“Nu uh. I’m not going in my apartment just to sleep off the night alone. Let’s watch some scary movies!” Felicia said while wagging her tail so hard that her rear swayed in her excitement.

“I don’t know. I was told not to go into strange places with strangers.” Murphy joked with a grin as he pulled of his hockey mask and rubbed his hands through his sandy brown hair.

“I think we will be safe, we got Jason with us.” She said she walked further into the apartment main hall. Murphy followed along with her while gazing around the halls, many of the doors were twice as wide as normal doors along with automatic doggy doors. After going up a flight of stairs with only the bright pink bikini in front of his face, his mind wondered to asking some more questions of the canine but he shook of those thoughts as they reached her apartment.

“Don’t mind the mess.” Felicia said as they stepped inside of her home. The house was well furnished with everything nearly knee height as he walked around. The only thing that seemed to be made for human use was the remote control and the massive sofa that wrapped around a corner of the room.

“Take a seat and get comfortable, I’m going to wash all this dye off of me.” Felicia said before looking at Murphy. “Oh before I forget could you pick a movie, something good. I’ve got Netflix.” She said before padding down to a room at the far end of the apartment. The soft sounds of a shower running reached his ears as Murphy plopped down on the soft couch.

He flicked through the movies till he came upon a ghost movie he had never heard of. He paused the movie while he removed the bulky tattered jacket and hockey mask of the costume leaving on just a black shirt and jeans on. He waited till he stopped hearing the noise of the shower, the soft whirring noise continued after that followed by soft thumps.

Felicia hopped on the couch with her fur puffed out like a large cotton ball, she looked at the television with a smile. “Ooooh a ghost movie?” She gave an excited huff before walked over to Murphy and planting her head in his lap. “I haven’t seen this one before.” She admitted.

Murphy looked down at the fuzzball in his lap and noted that her stomach was presented to him. He could see all eight of her nipples, he quickly averted his gaze as the strangeness of the situation started to make him uncomfortable. Murphy started to sweat and kept his eyes focused on the movie as the family just moved into the large mansion that just screamed haunted.

“Are you already getting scared? I can smell your sweating.” She snickered while she turned her head to look at him. “Do you mind petting me?” She asked with a straightforward gazed into the males face. She could smell the sweating increase at her words.

“No… It’s just well um…” Murphy lost all of his cool when he gazed back down at her, the continental cut that she had removed any fur that would have hidden the twin rows of pink nipples. “Your nipples.” He grunted embarrassedly.

“Yes I know, Little Murphy, see dogs have eight nipples and humans have two if you rub the belly near the nipples I’d greatly appreciate it.” Felicia chuckled wiggling in his lap and tucking her paws in a submissive gesture.

“But well… I mean it’s your sensitive spots, thats kinda well you know… intimate.” Murphy said with an uncomfortable cough as he stared down that poodle that glanced up at him with an adorable look in her eyes.

“I’m a dog, humans have been touching me since I was a puppy. They didn’t seem to have a problem till I started talking.” Felicia sighed before turning her head to face the screen. “I’m not asking you for sex I just want to enjoy the moment. I miss being touched, petted and just enjoying contact.” She said sadly.

Murphy looked down and noticed that even her tail stopped wagging as she became slack in his lap. He felt like the poodles overall mood sour as he kept his hands slack, his will started to slack as he watched her sad expression. The movie reached a point where the ghost was slamming the man across the room violently.

Felicia flinched as she watched the gruesome seen, she loved horror movies but the violence always caught her off guard. She gave a slight whimper of fear from the sight, she felt something warm touch her stomach as Murphy hand gently stroked her belly. She smiled happily as she scooted further on his lap and wagged her tail, his hands felt oddly warm in the cool room.

Murphy attention drifted down and looked over the canine as she watched the movie. He looked over the soft pink underbelly and noticed that as he tail wag he could see the slight bump that formed between her legs. “So uuuh… Felicia, so have you been with humans? I’m not like that or anything I’m just curious since my friends are like that.”

Felicia smiled and looked up at him, “I have in the past. I get that your not like that… shame your such fun guy.” Felicia said as casually as she was talking about the weather, Murphy coughed uncomfortably as his gaze met her.

“Well um… How about we exchange numbers, I mean I really had a good time.” Murphy said awkwardly as he looked on the movie, the credits were already starting to roll. “I think I sort of see the appeal my friends see.” The male commented as he vigorously started to scratch her belly, he smiled as her leg started to twitch as she giggled loudly.

Felicia felt like she was in heaven, it had been so many month since someone just gave her a good belly scratching. She relished the feeling as her tail wagged like mad between her chuckles, as his fingers started to slow their assault on her soft belly.

“You can have my number but on one condition.” Felicia said with a grin on her muzzle.

“Oh?” Murphy asked curiously.

Felicia leaned up to lick under his chin affectionately, “Like I’m like totally vulnerable and stuff, you wouldn’t let me like get taken by Freddy on a night like this. You should like totally protect me and stuff.” Felicia blurted out in her valley-girl voice.

“Fiiiiine. I guess I could possibly defend you with my rubber machete.” Murphy joked with a smiled on his face as he rubbed the canines head. They continued to watch the movies until the boy passed out on the couch, eventually the movies were watching them as the Halloween night passed them by.
