When you earn a friend, do you lose an other?
*****
Dandelion drank his coffee and looked outside the window, at the incredible landscape. He always enjoyed looking at nature landscapes, from the magazines to the computers, but he had little chances to see any in life. The hotel he and Liz were staying at was built at the edge of a cliff and the whole mountains surrounding them were wearing forests like they were coats. At dawn, with the little sun that could be seen the trees were getting a golden green on them, the clouds in the sky had many colors on them, from gold to pink. It was so relaxing for the little fur. At that time of the day all the other costumers were sleeping just some hours before their daily program would start. Only members of the stuff were to be seen at the restaurant preparing the breakfast for the tourists and chatting about many subjects. Dan took his block out and a pencil and started drawing what his eyes could see. The sun appearing behind the mountains in front of him, embracing with its sunshine all the living things. Dan didn't know many things about magic. However, the scene that was evolving in front of his was pure magic and couldn't have been created by any mortal creature. He finished the sketching in ten minutes and took his colors out of his bag. Happy about the result of his pencil, he starting painting with water colors his newly drawn picture.
"Ohh my, this is really good drawing." A female voice heard from behind him. He turned surprised of not understanding someone was actually looking at his art. Behind him a kangaroo girl was waving at him. She must have been around his age, she was dressed in a light T-shirt, short enough to end up a little under her breast and a pair of Jean shorts, her honey coloured fur gleaming a little and her blaze belly seemed rather soft.
Dan was surprised, feeling odd to have a girl talking with the kinds of his "Ohh, well... Thanks a lot. I really enjoy when people are commenting my works with good words" he said rubbing his back and closing his eyes while smiling. He shyly opened his eyes and looked at her.
"Can I sit with you?" she asked, playfully rubbing his shoulder, her touch as light as a winds blow.
"Ohh yeah sure. I wait for my friend anyway, but it doesn't seem like he will wake up for a while" Dan responded politely. She took a sit and asked from a squirrel, member of the stuff, for some coffee for herself.
"You know I really wanted to ask when I saw you yesterday" she began and Dan stopped his painting to pay more attention to her words "You were sitting in this exact same table and you was staring one at the people and one at the view. Do you have depression?" she asked beaming a little. Dan didn't answer. He wasn't sure what to answer. She could as well be playing games with him, or maybe like him and she needed some silly excuse to get closer to him.
"Heh, no! I just really like looking at things, that's all" he responded instantly.
"Hmm, I don't sense any magic from you, yet the aura around you remind me of someone I know" her voice became more serious and her eyes glowing a strange alien purple glow, it was actually creepy. Dan looked at her straight in the eyes with fangs a little exposed, obviously a little offended and terrified but not coward enough to turn around. She laughed by the sight of the husky, seeming to be expecting someone dangerous.
"Hey Dan" Liz yelled from the door of the restaurant while he was approaching them, always with his sword in its sheath, hanging between his wings. Dandelion turned around delighted that his friend was there. He didn't know what that strange girl wanted, and he didn't want to be alone to find out. The kangaroo smiled widely by the sight of Lizeron who didn't observe who was standing next to his friend. When he was close enough, he left his jawbone go as down as he could.
"Joilin? What the bloody hell are you doing here?" the dragon asked, happy to see a friend of his at the vacation he was having, a yell leaving his mouth as he embraced the roo with all the strength his arms had.
"Heh, I knew you were around. I sensed it on him when I saw him yesterday morning. As for why I am here, well more like practise." She said and hugged Liz with care in return. They were both lost in space and time, completely ignoring Dandelion.
"Who are you?" Dan interfered a little puzzled of what was going on. The two of them looked at him and laughed.
"Sorry Dan" the dragon apologized. "This is Joilin, and she trains to become a fortune teller." The dragon showed the roo and smiled a fool's smile, again excited for his friend. Joilin looked at Dan offering her paw for a handshake.
"Sorry for scaring ya. It's just that I haven't seen Lizeron for a long while, I was excited when I felt his presence here" she said and looked at the husky.
"Eh, it's ok I guess" Dan said returning the handshake "Her hand feels so soft" he thought. "Oh, by the way, did you say fortune teller?" the husky said curiously.
"Yeah" she responded "I am here for the festival, and this will be my first year that I will actually foretell anything on my own, if of course I get the chance" she said smiling at the waiter who brought her her coffee.
People were starting to enter the hall for their breakfast at the time she finished explaining the festival to Dan. The festival of the sun was a holiday for the magical users always happening when summer started. It was a tradition of many generations and people had their chance to show their skills and powers to furs all over the world. There were many little stands at which the magicians would open a store for that festival and only. The fighters had their opportunity to prove their bravery and strength inside the arena, which was divided in three classes. Liz was going at the junior competition, which had contestant from the age of 16 till any age, the prices were only going to the top three.
"So you will be at the festival Lizy? Tell me so I come to watch at the arena" the kangaroo said and squeezed Liz's arm, brushing her muzzle on his bicep.
"Yeah, darn I will be".
Dan was watching at them clueless of the biggest part of the conversation. They were talking about that festival, which apparently he was going to be there too. However they didn't seem to care about his questions nor about, at the very least, explaining more of it to him. General knowledge wasn't his cup of tea, that's why he loved information
"Could you tell me my future Joilin?" Dan asked and shacked his tail around. She looked thoughtful for a second with a finger in the mouth. Dan needed attention, and that was something he was missing at that time. And there was not a single way he would let every single bitch that waged her tail steal Lizeron from him.
"Sure why not" she responded and her muzzle left the dragon's bicep. She then pointed Dan with her paw, her eyes going purple again and whispering some words Dan couldn't understand what language they were. Like when Lizeron did that spell inside the cave to create a map, this language they both used was one he couldn't recognise. It must have been a magical one then and every one of it's words were heard like a song from the gentle female before him. Liz at the whole time had his wings stretched so that none could she Joilin to use her magic. She left a sigh and her eyes became brown again, coming back to earth from her foretelling journey. "Heh not so much" she said grinning. "What do you want to know?" she asked the husky, who was playing with his paws because he was nervous.
"What will happen to me during the festival?" he asked and he giggled. He didn't want to know anything huge in his life. Some could ask for their jobs, others for their love. But he really wanted to live these things on his way to the end of his life.
"Hmm, interesting question. But are you sure you want to know what lies ahead? Wouldn't you prefer to live it?" she asked with a mysterious look kinda revealing her effort to laugh a little on her own.
"I want to know just this" Dan replied and looked straight in her eyes again.
"Well, you must be careful then, cause there are people that see something in you. You learned something you shouldn't, but I wouldn't worry that much. You might feel betrayed, but yet you won't be sure of which path to follow. You will meet some new people. Some really important to your life, who will open your eyes to a truth you alone couldn't see" She was talking so elegant; it felt like she was a fairy that came from the books of witchcraft Dan was reading during his childhood. Obviously some of what she said weren't real or they were a diversion for the real facts, but drama was part of her job and of couse it made Dan more interested in her talking
Liz smiled "You know Joilin... You have improved a lot!" he said complimenting the roo. "At least at the theatrical part"
"Why thank you" the female bowed. "Now, you must excuse me, but I will leave for the festival" she said while she stood up. "Cya later Liz, Bye for now Dan" she said and hugged them both. When she hugged the husky she whispered to his ear: "By the way. One more thing I should tell you. Later if you wanna talk with me about Liz, I would love to. And please, don't be jealous with me around, I won't steal him from you". She left taking her bag with her and getting out of their sight. Dan looked at her leaving with his ears down. And for the first time in his life, he found a female irresistible, even when his mate was standing next to him.
The morning passed so easily. After getting a good breakfast they went to their room and packed their stuff. Today they would enter the magical society and Dan was excited. He wanted to enter that epic world and he couldn't stop thinking about it. Liz on the other hand, he looked so sad, depressed or angry. Dan was watching him while they were at their room or when they walked with destination a portal, one that could get them to the world of witchcraft. Liz was looking so scary; Dan didn't have the courage to ask his friend why he suddenly changed his attitude. He looked like he could kill. Dan has never seen such angriness in one's look, especially from his best friend, who he knew from his birth.
"Liz... Is something wrong?" The husky asked with some hesitation. Liz didn't pay any attention to his friend; like he did from the time they started packing up. Dan looked at the ground saying nothing. "It must be the competition" the husky thought.
They were entering the woods, when Lizeron stopped and fastly grasped his friend, one hand silencing his mouth and the other grabbing him from his shirt, pulling him 2 inches off the ground. Dan was so stunt by that move, he tried to kick his friend, stopping in the middle remembering that it was his lover he would have hit.
"I will teach you the only thing I can teach you about magic" the dragon whispered in his friend ear. "At the place we go people will attack your mind many times in order to gather information about anything one might know. So I will tell you... how to stop these intruders." Dan was now looking with one paw on his friend's bicep, trying to calm him down, understanding how much his powerless body could do to the muscled dragon.
"Ok ok, now please calm down. You scared the life out of me" the husky said, trying to look a little aloof.
"The only way to stop someone from entering is at start knowing one is in you" the dragon said and concentrated to enter his friend's mind still hanging him in the air.
"I get it ok! Get out now!" Dan demanded, his voice was revealing how frightened he was.
"So when you feel what you now felt, which was the feeling of sudden emptiness, no? Well think about random stuff. Picture yourself cooking, I don't care what it will be" he said and let his friend go. Leadership was one of the things that described the dragon. He was correct most of times and he could easily find a way to do anything. What he lacked was a more gentle way.
"Liz... Don't do this again, you hear me? NEVER!" Dan said frightened and glared at his friend, crawling a little and hugging his knees while he was on the ground, his whole body shaking like he had seen a ghost. What he just felt was beyond emptiness. He felt like his soul was pushed out of his body, with so much force, and he felt so defenseless, like dying but surviving as much as so one can feel his life getting drained. Lizeron once again paid no attention to the husky and pointed with his hand over two huge trees. He started moving it with rhythmic moves and again used that strange language and then in the middle of the forest a portal opened, through which one could see the beginning of a faire. Lizeron entered and Dandelion was left behind on the floor. He had to choose between going along with his friend or staying behind. No further thoughts, he rushed inside, the portal closing behind of him.
And like that, the two friends entered the realm of magic. Dan smashed his face on the ground as he passed through the portal, mud and dirt messing his white face fur. "Oh great" he thought as he tried to clean some of the dirt off his muzzle. Only when he looked up, did he understand that he was in the magical realm. Around him furs and scalies of any kind passed by, all dressed with simple clothes, reminding Dan of middle age cultures. It seemed that the portal had gotten them in the middle of a road, circus-like tents at the edges of it. Dan had a silly smile in his face, unable to hide his joy. He looked around and saw Lizeron at a stand, talking to someone, yet the cloth of the the tent made it impossible for him to see clear. As he walked towards Liz, joilin's figure emerged from the tent.
"so, you understand now? You just go pass the inn and turn left at this corner" she said to Liz watching a small map with him.
Liz didn't stand still, he left her and moved forward. "Is everything ok?" Dan asked, worried about Joilin. He wasn' sure but he was a little scared of Liz, having been magically attacked by him. Joilin tried to calm the husky a little, until she came up with an idea.
"Hey Liz, can i come along? I wanna see her too" She yelled hoping that the dragon would hear her, towards the way he was moving on. Liz stopped walking for a few moments and looked at the ground. A small "i don't care, do whatever you want" heard from him, before he disappeared.
Joi took Dan's paw and started walking towards Liz. "Where are we going?" the husky asked, wondering why Liz was so mean at the same time. When joilin answered Dan felt sadness in every cell of his existence. They were going in an orphanage, to see a little girl, who lost her parents. It was her family that trained Lizeron when he was a child, and they were also the same family that had crafted Kuroyuki.
The roo looked at the ground while she was guiding Dan to the orphanage, something troubled her, it was more than obvious. "Something wrong?" Dan asked again concerned about Joi.
"I wanted... to apologize to you, i should have warned you of what Lizeron would have done to you" she confessed and looked away from him. "You see, Lizeron has some strange urges whenever he come here, and not the likes of what he has with you. He gets bloodlust, and i am quite worried about him"
Dan felt betrayed by that roo, he even started considering her as a new friend "You knew? And yet you didn't say anything to warn ..."
"If i had stopped it from happening, all of my visions about you would have changed! Would you prefer a life enjoyable, with friends, happiness, joy or a life filled with pain, sorrow and solitude?" she interrupted him and stated her mind.
Dan tried to feel compassion on her, but he was still confused by her mysterious talking. Dan didn't like people hating him, or him hating others. He left all of the feelings aside and talked about the girl they would visit. Joi was more than relieved from his question, hoping for a "no hard feeling" situation. She started talking about many things, most of all involved Liz's childhood. She revealed to him one of the biggest secrets the magical realm kept: The survival of the humans. Dan was going to star after star in his imagination trying to create what a human would look like. He said to himself that they were great creatures, creating loads of civilizations and technology, without which the furs and generally everyone on the planet would be dead. Lizeron and Joilin met each other first time as both apprentices of the Goldtouch family, a really important family of magicians.
Joi described them as a small family with a home inside the woods. Taran, Mary and Lily, last of the bearers of their family name, were simple people, who enjoyed the simple things in life. Taran was a blacksmith and Mary most of all a housewife. With them, Liz under Taran and herself under Mary, they quickly developed their abilities and skills. One day though two thugs entered their home, and killed Mary and Taran for denying cooperation with them. Lizeron was present during their murders, the sight of two beloved faces blood covered, lifeless, shaping the young magician into what he was today. Liz fled one hour after the killers left the house, and was found two days later. The magical police looked like they had seen a ghost and their description outrated a ghost easily. Joilin was holding Lily in her embrace when they told the story. In the forest they heard screams and run towards where they started. When they reached the place, the young Lizeron was hugging his knees and covered himself as much as he could with his wings, crying himself to unconsciousness. Next to him the two men that took the lives of his most respected figures, both hit to their deaths and with so much angriness and power, they looked like impaled at many parts of their body, their faces sliced to ribbons making it impossible to identify who they were. Young Liz, never looked happy inside the realm of the magicians from that time and after. And Joilin, wanted to find a way for him to stop after witnessing many examples of violence. Only six years had passed from that incident, but for the roo, they seemed longer than a lifetim, a lifetime filled with blood and screams. Even the little girl had surpassed the loss of her parents, now at her age of eleven, being just a five year old when all of the scenes took place.
"And to stop him, I need you" she whispered as they were walking closer to Liz.
Lizeron was waiting outside the orphanage, until his companions arrived, his head lowered and his eyes closed resting his back upon the building's wall.
"You are wasting my time" he said angrily when the other two approached. Dan and Joilin looked at each other in pure silence, at the time Lizeron opened the door to the orphanage. He went inside and his two friends followed him. The orphanage was very warm, made of rocks and wood, carpets existed on the floor even though it was summer, a feeling of renewal was covering its every walls. It wasn't the richest orphanage in the world, but the pictures of the Matrons and Patrons that existed on the wall made it look so comfortable. Everyone in the picture had three or four kids hugging them, making Dan somehow feel proud inside of him. There existed good people in this world after all, once again he was proven wrong of everyone being corrupted and once again he enjoyed it.
The matron of that place was the very first human Dan saw, curiously observing every of her details. She didn't have anything extraordinary, no fur, and no scales, not even a tail whatsoever. Her skin had a beautiful color like a peach, and she was surely of an age. Dan was amazed to see such an ancient creature, yet he didn't want to be rude. "I guess, if people looked at me like I do now, well I would certainly feel uncomfortable" he thought. Joilin was laughing at the reactions of the husky. After a while the old lady, disappeared searching for something in another room of the orphanage. When she entered the hall again, Dan could see a second human, shyly hiding behind the older one.
"Wow, their skin looks so strange. Lizeron doesn't have scales on him, so at first I thought it was beautiful, but this... This is really something else" he thought and looked at the short human female, holding the hand of the bigger one. Liz knelt in front of her and gave her a welcoming smile looking at her in the eyes. The little girl smiled back at the familiar face and run toward him, her pink hair moving smoothly in the air.
"Liz, brother Lizzy!!!" The girl started shouting; obviously happy that someone went to visit her at that strange prison she was in.
"Hi fairy" Lizeron responded, trying to sound as friendly as he could be. He held the little girl in a warm embrace nazzling his maw on her hair. The little girl was moving so smoothly, hugging the dragon over his neck and rubbing her small face on his shirt, at the place of his heart. "Hey, I got ya!" the dragon whispered smiling at her, squeezing her on his chest in happiness, like a father would to his child if they were separated for a long while. The girl's attention was drawn by the two figures behind the one she called brother.
"Joi!! Hi!" she said and rushed to her. The female roo couldn't help not to embrace the little human, so small a creature yet they were really like sisters. "Who is your friend?" the girl asked looking at the husky. She didn't have any problem at all being sociable, that was a good thing. On the contrary, the husky was rather... insociable.
"Oh this is Dandelion. He is a friend of mine and Liz" the roo whispered to Lily.
"Ohh" she replied always smiling widely. "I am Lily, The princess of ice! Pleased to meet you and I hope you can be my friend too" she said proudly her thump pointing at herself.
"Ehm, hello!" the dog responded looking at her, patting her head and feeling really stupid with his introduction. He was also wondering about that princess thing, but in the end he figured it was just a small nickname she had.
"Are you sick? You are blue!" the girl asked Dan and everyone laughed.
After a small time passed Lizeron left the orphan with his friends and exited the building getting out of sight in the crowd outside. "He is supposed to be bad? I didn't see any bad behavior from the time we came here except leaving so early" Dan thought hopefully.
"Will I go to the arena this time Joi? I am really bored here. And I wanna see big bro in action." The little girl asked. All happened so fast with the human around. All conversation ended quickly and the girl jumped from the one subject to the other and she was leaving no time for the others to answer. Yet Dan couldn't come to say it to her. After all, being harsh in front of someone who had lost her parents so young is something only emotionless beasts would do. Or rather, people who can help others improve would do.
"Not the first fight. But you can come on the second one" the kangaroo responded caressing her hair. The old lady entered the hall again and told Joi and Dan that they had to go for the day. The stood from their seats and left promising to Lily to see her again soon, the girl crying a little from a bitter nostalgia. When they left the orphanage Dan had the perfect chance to speak with Joi.
"Joi, what did you mean he becomes violent and mean? It was ok inside there" the husky started opening his thoughts to her.
"Don't get the wrong idea, Dan. Liz is always like that when Lily is around" she said and sighed.
"That Lily girl. She is truly such a sad story. To lose both mother and father at a single night" Dan thought getting sad. "When will Liz fight?" the husky asked to decrease the tension.
"Ohh you are right. Today are the first matches! Ohh god! And I didn't get the chance to see the other teleporters" the roo said with her mouth wide open "We still have four hours before we start though. Great! This gives me a lot of time to show you around" she said and grabbed his hand while increasing her speed to running. Dan was running behind of her and after ten minutes they arrived at a hotel. The building was looking modern outside, which made a bad affection to Dan glasses covering every angle it had and tropical plants existing in the frost door.
"So modern in such a traditional place" he said obviously not liking it.
"Well yeah, we do like technology! We are not animals!" the roo said offended by what the dog said.
"Oh, please. I didn't mean offend you" the husky said grinning understanding that his fantasies were something that the world couldn't offer.
"Well, anyway. You are staying here with Liz. When you want come here and ask for the key to your room" Joi explained kindly. "Wanna go for a coffee?" the roo asked suddenly, rubbing his paw.
"Don't you have to go see the teleporter thingies? The husky asked to remind her.
"They can wait" she said and took his hand running again at the nearest café. Dan started feeling more like he was in the magic world now. The building was made of wood and it had some technically made parts so that the wood could look older. Inside there were many people chatting and drinking from chocolate to beers. They walked in and had a seat near a window, so that Dan could look outside at the people passing.
"I am curious what do you want to know?" the female started. "I can see it in your eyes. No need for me to use magic for something so obvious" she said and grinned widely.
Dan was once more surprised. "Liz didn't tell me almost anything of the magic things that there exist. So I wanted to ask you to tell me the basic at least" the husky said and looked at the catalogue.
"Hehe, so you are interested in learning. Ok, I will tell you. But know this: I hate repeating things especially when they are homework. So don't even think of asking anything twice" she said and the dog nodded.
"How can someone control ice or the mind powers you have?" It was a fact; this was one of Dan's biggest questions.
"Hmm, well. We are born with a basic master element in our hearts. So depending which one you are born with, that one is the element you can use at its full power. There are many elements one can use, and some researchers claim that their number isn't fix yet and that new elements shall appear in the future. There are many elements now... There is fire, earth, wind, water/ice, darkness, lightening, mind, divine. Well, at least the basics. Divine is a term some use for the Hands Of God." Dan looked with biggest interest than before, his curiosity appearing on his face, especially for the last term the roo used. "This element is considered a power only gods should have. The ability to heal the others, is one so holy, the few people possessing it are from the start, at the top. There is no damage they can't repair. Only death itself can stop their powers, if the healer hasn't entered the angel form of course. As for how we use them. Well basically, for us they are like moving an arm or a leg. But some of them require words in the magic language and some need hand sighs too" Dan was hearing her talking. Things so ordinary for her were something so amazing for him.
"So these are the powers existing right now and all can use them?" the husky asked and waiting for his affirmative answer.
"Actually no, there exist some forbidden. The one is necromancy, the other one is demon-mastery and the last one is black magic. Necromancy is the worst one and the people performing it die immediately. They are killed actually but anyway. We have a whole police-like force to kill them when they show up. Demon-mastery isn't a big problem. It is forbidden to summon high-level demons, because it is just the end of the world. However, the low level demons are practically helpful... and annoying. Don't be surprised if you see any at this place. They are allowed. Well the last one is black magic right? This one is forbidden because it involves sacrifices of souls in order for one to access their destructive powers." She sighed and ordered two drinks from the waiter. Obviously the forbidden arts weren't the most enjoyable discussion they could have. "Any other question?" she asked happily, having a fast recovery for her talking over dark arts. She was happy that she had found someone to talk to about her world, yet Dan could swear she somehow felt strange about the conversation. She was just rushing answering a little too much.
"Hmm. I know! Tell me about your battery weapons" Dandelion asked excited laughing a little at the way he asked.
"Ahh, yes. The most favorite of a magician's is of course his weapon. As a furry I can guarantee that we don't craft our own weapons. Humans do it for us, since they are the only race here that can actually enchant it. I am sure Lizeron told you about the gathering ability of the weapons, to gather the energy from around them. Not only swords exist though. For example I have a staff made of wood. There was one guy I think that had a giant kitchen knife." She ended laughing.
It seemed so nice. Dandelion had a whole new friend. She was so enjoyable. Her presence didn't seem like the one the ‘freaks' had back at school. She wasn't a company to him, because none else wanted to be with her. She was with him because she liked to. He was looking at her every detail. Her beautiful light brown hair, moving like it was dancing in the air, with every move she would make. Her brown eyes were so magical, so seductive. He liked her. In fact he loved her. She liked him for he was kind and not for him being just ‘hot'. How much he wanted to kiss her right then. The kangaroo was looking at him daydreaming only to laugh when his mind returned to his body.
"You know, you should stop that" she said. "All your thoughts are leaving your head like they are water in a broken vase" she said and laughed. Dandelion blushed a deep red, looking down immediately feeling humiliated, understanding she had telepathy too. She moved her hand slowly, touching his face to explore it, rubbing the soft fur on his cheeks. "No wonder Lizzy loves you" she said again with a smile. "I like you a lot, you know. And trust me if I could I would have fucked you by the moment I saw you" she said again, not feeling afraid to express her feelings. "But the toll of my powers... Is to be virgin until I am seventeen. I am sorry" she sighed and a slight sorrow appeared in her eyes.
"I... I am sorry..." was all the husky could say.
"In two weeks time I will become seventeen" the roo whispering "I hope you wait for this" she said almost crying, her hands pulling Dandelion's face closer to hers and kissing him clumsily. It was obvious she hadn't kiss almost never before, but she did a good try, twisting her tongue inside his mouth, her hands rubbing the soft blue fur at the back of his head. It felt so good and refreshing, he couldn't compare it to the kisses Lizeron was giving him. Lizeron had a hot mouth, and a musky scent surrounding him, when she had a small "aura" around her. her mouth felt cool and refreshing. The husky couldn't help not to return her kiss. He could feel her pain. It must have been horrible. And he was a hundred percent sure, she felt like this for Lizeron too. When they broke the kiss Dan looked at her, both grinning widely with a slight satisfaction.
"Of course I will wait for this. You are one of the most amazing girls I have ever met" he whispered softly.
"I saw your future. There is something that will happen" she said sounding so sad not to be able to tell him or not thinking of any way to help him out.
She drunk the strange liquid the waiter had brought her. Dandelion wasn't in the mood to enjoy anything at the moment. He just looked at her drinking that thing, not saying anything, disgusted a little bit, by the thick brown looking beverage.
"Come on Dan. Let's go to the arena" she just said leaving some money on the table. They both stood up and walked with direction the arena. As they were going there Joilin retrieved her smile, talking of all the things she could think. She criticized everything, the clothes of people, even their weapons.
"Hey I just thought, where is your weapon?" the husky asked in great wonder. If her weapon was made from the exact same family that made Kuroyuki, then her staff too had to look impressive. The symbols on the sword the dragon wielded looked like black veins running on it's grip, the blade looking strange and the strange marks on it that looked like a liquid flowing always moving depending on Liz's emotions.
"I don't need to show my weapon to anyone, now do I" the roo responded "But you will see it eventually"...
Outside the arena there was a huge crowd. People from many places of the world were there to see the magicians fight, in a brawl that could sometimes even lead to their deaths. The queue to the entrance was huge; they would have to wait at least one hour after the first fight would begin. Dandelion was curious how could they be there in time. But the roo didn't seem to care about the queue. She just went on a door next to the start of the crowd and pointed on the terrier that was guarding that gate. She looked at Dan and the terrier would only pass a little to make some space for them to enter.
When they entered the little dark tunnel Dan wasn't getting what was going on "Why we passed like that?" he asked hoping the roo wouldn't answer with riddles again.
"We are here for Lizeron you know. And I happen to have a job in the arena too" the roo said.
"You are fighting too?" the husky asked.
"I am mostly defensive type of caster. It would be a suicide to go there if it wasn't in a tag duel" she walked until the end of the tunnel and revealed to the dog a small amount of crowd sitting in some spots. "This is only for special viewers only. It isn't our VIP, but it is so that some friend's of the gladiator's can see them fighting first hand." She said smiling widely.
She moved a little further and found a young gryphon sitting on his seat, looking cool, having his cola on one hand and the one of his feet on top of the other, only his face and legs exposed to the world, as his cloak would cover almost the rest of his body, yet behind the gryphon's neck Dan could easily see a hood, to cover the creature's face. He could even see the grips of two blades at where the hood was. His big white-feathered wings made him look so elegant like an angel.
The roo smiled down to the griffon like she was seeing a familiar face. "Hi Rak" the girl said and the big warrior would return the welcoming smile to her. "This is Dandelion or Dan for short" the roo explained politely "He is a friend of mine and well... he is here to watch a friend of mine fight. So I was hoping you could keep a good company to him"
"Yeah, sure... why not" The big fur looked up at the husky standing in front of him, obviously looking shy entwining his paws. "Hey. How old are ya Dan?" The husky looked down at the gryphon and whispered a "sixteen". The gryphon chuckled and made a little space so that his new companion could sit next to him "Twenty-one here".
Dan was so nervous. He wasn't used to meet new people with such ease, adding even older than him. He was feeling awkward. When he sat down he looked at Joilin who couldn't help not to let a small laugh out of her chest.
"Rak here is a really good warrior Dan. If ya need anything ask him about it. He is really nice. I am sure you will feel the same for him too" the roo said.
"Can I ask you for one last thing?" the roo looked down at the husky curiously of what he would ask. "Can you give me a book? I mean... the fight will start in one hour. I would like to learn some stuff" the husky asked barely heard as he was whispering.
Without another word the roo made a book appear in front of her. She passed it to him and laughed. The title of the book was "Things one must know" and it contained a lot of information about some monsters and about what each of the great families could do. Dan thanked the roo while she was disappearing in front of his eyes, like she never existed, using her magic.
The gryphon looked down at the husky. He was so funny in his eyes. So smaller than him, yet he was so adorable, he couldn't help not to like the new friend Joilin had given him. The dog was looking at everything so excited, a whole new world for him to explore was appearing right in front of him. He would look so happy, with his new book in a little embrace, looking like it was a treasure for him, his blue fur gleaming as the light was going on it. "What ya got there?" the gryphon asked the so smaller in size than him Dan.
Dan turned the book a little so that the giant next to him could read the title. When the griffon looked at the book he laughed, flapping his wings around creating a huge mess that made the viewers behind him annoyed.
"And you will read that in one hour? Haha! It has a little less than a five hundred pages, only with magic can one read it" Rak said enjoying himself so much, hitting the husky on the back hard, by accident, that made the husky stop breathing.
Dan looked at him with a glare. He didn't like what the warrior was saying. He was a genius, even though he never bragged about how gifted he was. And with magic or without it, he wanted to prove Rak wrong, to make him look with more than just interest and a feeling like a babysitter. He would read this book and he would also have time to spare chatting with him.
The gryphon once again smiled at him, while the husky was looking silent at his book. "Hey, listen up" he tried to say to the husky, feeling a little guilty for making him angry. "If you read this book in time... I will tell you anything you want about the fights"
Dan froze. He looked at the gryphon again, but this time he was stunt. He never expected someone would offer him something like that. The gryphon had already turned his head around, looking at the crowd and at a small platform at the end of the stage. The husky didn't pay any attention in following at what Rak was looking at, missing Joilin who was bowing at the crowd and at the fighters who trained in the ring.
The book he was reading was amazing. It explained so much, it talked about the great wars the magicians have done, the way the humans escaped and how they bargained with the scalies in order to survive. It named many of the great magic families, but Dan was only interested in the one Lizeron was in. He found in the book that the Wardragons were a powerful family, in which a great lineage of magicians has breathed from, and that its clans could control all the elements. However it said that because the Wardragons were a family filled with great assassins none of them was ever blessed with being a hand of god. The Wardragons were one of the two scalies families and one of the five species/families that could control ice. Lizeron belonged to the ice clan of the family, thus he had great abilities only his family would teach. The others were a family of scalies, humans, a small amount of furries and some cetaceans. Birds didn't have any ice ability at all. The ice element was the only that could absorb energy from the environment and add it to the caster himself, unlike the weapons that would add the energy on the weapon. The fire element could do damage on the target, to his body and energy, the earth element could periodically heal some of the wounds the caster had, like the trees restored their leaves and wood, the air element had the smaller cost in energy so it lasted longer than the others, the darkness element could reduce all damage done to the caster, the light element could reflect part of the damage on the attacker and the mind element could make ones body not understand pain created by big wounds so the caster could concentrate on their battle.
About the species, it were the ones he already knew, except a few creatures he never even heard of. One of them was the Treelins. They were tree looking creatures, able to breathe and walk, fully powered by the touch of nature. In the book, they made quite the deal. They were supposed to be evil. Dan couldn't help not to wonder how someone who was part of literally a forest could be evil. In a small note in the book it was written that the greatest ability of this strange species is their healing, able to recreate a whole arm if needed just like the hands of gods. Dan was reading hungrily. It was so damn incredible for him. He was always top in his class and the reason was cause he was reading a whole encyclopedia in a week's time. And he had read more than seven so far. But this! Ohh this was something totally different. It was knowledge, but with the spark of a fairytale. He could just absorb all the information, never being bored.
After forty minutes have passed Dan put the book down, happy for achieving his goal. Of course some of the pages were skipped and not all the info was understood but still he did it. The gryphon was looking at him, the whole time. He could just grin, not feeling bad at all for being wrong about the husky.
"Heh" he said while rubbed his beak "I guess ya did it, little fella".
Dan turned around, so fast, it looked like his whole neck was turning like it was broken. The griffon just acknowledged him, like only Liz would have. He could feel so strange, butterflies in his stomach could be felt, and he was afraid that if he opened his muzzle to speak, these butterflies would have came out. He felt so nice. He couldn't even try to describe this feeling. The griffon grinded widely and Dan for the very first time tried to find some new details considering his new feathered friend. He was sure tall for starters. He was half a feet taller than Lizeron and a foot taller than him. He had a really nice brown colorization, which became a lighter brown at the part of the chest and neck. He was wearing a violet cloak that covered his whole body and on one shoulder there was an emblem. Dan couldn't help not to stare at it for a while. He just liked the way it shined, the so small crafted details. The emblem was looking like the head of a dragoness, her hair all around like golden strings.
"Ehm Dan? You do know it isn't polite to stare at people don't you?" the gryphon said trying to take his attention away from the jewel on his cloak. The husky became a slight pink on his white fur.
"Ehm. I am sorry. Do you know were the bathroom is?" he said trying to feel a little better and a little of escaping a strange feeling he had. He felt a strange discomfort and a little drowsi.
"Oh, yeah. Well this place where we sit, the closest one is next to the locker rooms. Just go down these stairs and you will be ok" he responded and pointed at the stairs behind Dan.
Dan ran fast to where the toilets were, never feeling more thankful that sighs pointing WC existed. He entered a hall full of doors; each one having a name, Dan supposed it was a family name. There were many names on each door, each written with metal, like gold or silver or others that were written using paint. At some Dan could swear he saw blood. He came by the door that had a Wardragon on it, staring at it for a while and slowly pushed it so it could open. Inside he didn't hear anything, except a small splash made by feet walking on a wet surface. He looked inside and there was Liz, walking around, looking thoughtful and as always adorable. He entered and closed the door behind him. Liz looked at his side, with a glare. "So offensive eyes" Dan thought. The dragon didn't wear a shirt, only his baggy pants, and his muscles looked more toned cause of oil smeared on his body.
"Why are you here" the dragon yelled, as soon as he realised Dan had entered his room.
"I just came by... You know, to say a good luck" the husky said smiling as kindly as he could.
"Luck is for wimps" was the respond he got as a return. The dragon let some smoke come out of his nostrils, to point out his angriness.
Dan was getting high, just by looking his lover's body shining, like it had been covered with cum. He walked closer to him, forgetting Liz could be a madman and knelt in front of him, nuzzling his muzzle at the fabric on the dragon's pride.
"Now that's more like it, you good bitch" the dragon said seeing how submissive the weaker male was and unzipped his pants, getting hard fast, and his ten inch black erection coming out of his pants.
The husky didn't think clearly, he was just aroused by that cock. He opened his muzzle slowly and tried to please his mate with a blowjob, surrounding the male flesh with his mouth and wrapping his tongue around it, slowly trying to fit the whole of the staff in his mouth. He was doing slow passionate moves, but the dragon didn't seem to have passion in his mind at that moment. He just grabbed the huskies face and fast thrusted inside of it repeatedly, literally fucking his face, brutally opening the jaws of the dog causing pain that numbed him at that time, and closing his nose not allowing him to breathe. Dan was lost in space and time, not understanding almost anything, only knowing he was aiming to relax Lizeron, to have his cock inside of him, to taste his cum and to feel like he did the night before. At a moment he hesitated a little and tried to think about what he was about to do, holding the ebony shaft of his dragon, dearly in his muzzle. Lizeron was not gonna have him nicely asked to suck him. He pulled the dog's head and pushed it on his cock, and when the dog started to resist a little to the dragon, the hand next to him created a huge piece of ice, it's tip touching the dog's side of his face. Knowing that it wasn't a huge effort for it to pierce his head, the husky bobbed his head on the throbbing shaft.
After a small while Lizeron climaxed in his mouth, the salty sweet liquid filling his face and throat but it wasn't as enjoyable as Dan wanted it to be. He loved the way Lizeron used him, it was like he was meant to be next to the dragon and serve under any sexual fantasy he might have, making it reality. But he wasn't a whore, he was a fur with free will and he needed love as much as feeling dominated. Who he loved pulled his throbbing dick out of him, hissing as the flesh left the mouth of the husky, driven crazy as the sensitive shaft got squeezed inside the dog's muzzle. He looked down at the husky and smirked in pride. All the husky could do was for once more, cry.
Dan couldn't understand anything. Where was the Lizeron he loved? The one he would die for? The one that mated him just a night ago? He looked up at the dragon, who was preparing for his first battle, and he felt so upset. The one he loved had called him like he was a slave, like he was nothing to him. He could understand Lizeron could go over the edge when it came to fuck, but to go that far? He licked his muzzle confused, trying to find a small solution. He could still taste the cum in his mouth and he could still feel pain on his jaws. He started thinking his whole muzzle's shape had changed to fill in the dragonhood he just sucked.
Lizeron was now ready. He took Kuroyuki, wore a brown colored cape and left the room, leaving him on the floor, not caring the least of how he was, why he was on the floor. Dan cried and hugged his knees, his voice filling the walls of the locker room. At the other side of the wooden door, there was a warrior, carefully cleaning his tears.
Ten minutes later Dan stood up and brushed his eyes so the tears couldn't be seen. He came out of the room and ran back at his seat, still upset and sad.
"Hey, were have you been? You almost lost the start of it mate" the gryphon said, not understanding the situation the husky was in.
"Ehm, I had something to do" Dan said looking angry. The griffon couldn't help not to giggle.
"Hmm, at least I find someone who shares the same ideas as me" Dan turned and looked at him, Î·Î¹Ï Îµxpression asking "what could he mean". The gryphon didn't need to do a lot to explain. He just rubbed Dan's muzzle with his finger, almost like caressing a lover, while looking at him in the eyes, and took an amount of a white liquid off his fur. Dan gasped when he understood what that liquid was and cursed himself for not cleaning up his face more carefully. But then immediately he froze and gazed back at the gryphon. "You! You are gay?" the asked in total disbelief. How could anyone believe anyway that someone looking so hot like he did, so strong and warrior like, could be gay?
"Bingo little one! Bingo" he responded smiling at him.
"How could I believe that? There is just no way!" Dan said screaming in a crazy emptiness. He felt like he was bursting for what was going on with Lizeron, but in the end it wasn't the gryphon's fault.
"Hey, watch it kiddo. I never said I go only with men if that's what you mean" He said and looked more like of his age, with just a glare. "And please don't shout. Is there any reason for it" he asked and licked his finger to taste the cum the husky had swallowed. "Gosh, at least ya got a good taste" he said and in one second looked cheerful again, reminding to the husky to clear the rest of the cum off his face.
Dan couldn't help not be stunt. "What an idiot" he thought, "To think that Joilin actually praised him to be a good fighter. Yeah right". He was clearly aloof.
Then all the chat and shouts in the tiers of the stadium stopped as music filled the air. Dan felt like he was in an ancient place. According to general history he knew, the humans were the first to create arenas and brawls between them to compete and see who was the strongest. Most time there was only one survivor, fact that made the husky feel afraid. Truth be told, he wasn't sure if he was prepared to see a bloodbath of fighters. He looked down in the competition ground, where the fighters started to gather. He didn't act like a little boy anymore, there was no need for that now. He just wanted to see Lizeron. When he spotted him he was feeling strange inside. He wasn't sure how he should feel. Angry for being used and for his friend's behavior? Sad for the whole things happening? Cheering cause his best friend was down there?
Then the entire crowd turned to see a white dragoness, dressed in a white elegant dress more like a ritual robe, looking like a delight creature, more thin like the wind. All small talks stopped as she was filling the air with her pleaseful voice.
"My name is Kaidara, and I am the hand of god that will oversee these fights. May your hearts be strong and your attacks even stronger and may all of you become great one day in this world we are living"
That's all she said, yet all gladiators knelt in front of her, and the entire crowd was cheering for her words, which meant the start of the fights. All the faces where turned around at a huge screen on a wall, which was very similar to video games, all the names of the contestants connected with lines. All looked with silence at the names to see who was fighting against whom. In the end the crowd started talking again, chatting about the fighters they were here to see. Dan didn't have a sharp eye to see so far, and with over forty contestants it was hard to search for Lizeron. "I don't see anywhere his name" he thought disappointed, his ears going even lower than they've already been.
"What is the name of your friend? You didn't exactly tell me" Rak said in a stressed mood, knowing the husky couldn't track his friend's name on the tablet.
"Lizeron... Lizeron Wardragon" the husky replied, sounding as happy as he could. He didn't want Rak to know there was something bad between them. In fact he himself would trade anything to lose this knowledge. Rak's finger then pointed at a part of the tablet and looked amazed. "Your friend is fighting first, lad! And this will be good. Really good" Rak said laughing a little whenever he found the chance.
"Why are you laughing Rak? What's going on?" the husky asked confused of how someone could laugh at the thought of people fighting. "Is something wrong with the opponent of Liz?"
"Actually yeah. Your friend is fighting a Draconic and the Draconics are an offshoot of the family of the Frosards!" the griffon explained amazed by the whole situation
"You do know I am not in this place long enough to understand the alien language you talk right?" Dan said and his face had a silly smirk, snickering on his own for the way he talked back to the gryphon.
"The Frosards is the family that can use ice element apart for the Wardragons. But they don't have to be pure blood. So in fact, they might be any type of scaly using ice. The Draconics have no wings, but they are all full of muscles and deadly weapons. Most of them at least. The first Frosard was the son of a Wardragon and another scaly, and the Wardragon family became really angry. So from then they have a type of vendetta. And, Ohh gosh, all their battles are a blood show. I always love it" Rak said explaining all Dan needed to know.
"So... this won't be good" Dan thought and watched all the fighters leaving the arena, leaving only two figures preparing for the renewal of their family war.
Everyone stopped talking, as the lady called Kaidara, raised her hand in the air and announced the start of the first fight. Down the two warriors were ready. Lizeron took a look at his opponent. He was rather huge, like a wardrobe and he was holding an axe that was glowing. The Draconic was wearing a loincloth and some belts on his thighs, which had some pockets attached with some weapons or magical ingredients inside. Lizeron on the other hand, was wearing only his baggy pants and cloak. And nothing more. They both looked at each other for quite a long time.
The time had come, and Lizeron took his sword out of its sheathe, taking a fighting pose. The draconic didn't waste anymore time. He rushed in moving his axe around to protect himself from any possible injury and ran closer to Liz. Liz started summoning ice on the floor to aid him in the battle, but his opponent was an ice user as well. Just low level tricks wouldn't help at all. Liz was dodging all the attacks his opponent was trying to land. He was pretty fast for the deadly attacks of the huge scaly and was able to overcome many hits. He then stopped dodging and in first chance attacked forth with his sword, seeing a pass through the Draconic's swirling axe. He did a mere scratch on him and at the time he was pulling his sword back, the axe hit his arm. All the crowd cheered at the achievement of the Draconic. Blood was splitting from the arm of the dragon, and his shouts of pain filled the air. "Darn! That was way to close. I could have lost my arm just now" Lizeron thought and carefully touched with his paw the arm that was injured.
"Hey Rak! Why isn't the Drake-thing attacking Lizeron now? He can't defend himself" Dan was worried about the whole fight. He just saw half of his friend's arm getting cut, so much blood. His friend was in the mercy of his enemy.
"Huh? Ohh that? Liz just touched his arm. See? This means he wishes to go on, so it is better for his opponent to let him some time" the gryphon responded.
"But why? If he lets him rest, then he shortens his chances of victory" Dan said with an offensive tone, the situation being far beyond his understanding.
"But it's not looking nice for anyone here. In these kinds of games a battle is way better to last a little longer, many people pay to watch here and there are way more that bet on the brawlers. He will also get the chance to show more of his skills and people who need jobs or mates will get to see more of him if he is the one who gave his opponent another chance. Besides at some battles the gladiator asks permission to kill from the crowd. If the people love him as a fighter, they will never agree to let him die"
Lizeron was in one of the worst pain he had ever experienced. He couldn't think clearly and the loss of blood was paying its toll to his body by making him go numb. He just couldn't stop though. He couldn't just accept the aid of the teleporters and forfeit. He tried to concentrate. His arm shined under the black paw and all the people in the crowd were leaving exclamations. Liz turned his face up again, and glared at the Draconic who was snickering evilly to him. "I won't lose to someone like him. Not to the traitors of my family! I won't..." he thought and stood on his feet, clumsily moving around at the beginning. In the end though he was ready once again. To everyone's surprise, the dragon had frozen his own arm to stop the bleeding.
Without any further delay, the dragon started attacking this time. He was moving faster all the time and the sound of steel hitting one another filled the stadium. The Draconic looked stupid to the eyes of Lizeron. However, he was able to defend himself at maximum from every attack the dragon would make. Seeing his tactic wasn't working well the dragon flew in the air to make some distance and concentrate to cast a spell.
The Draconic didn't need a second time to understand the dragon was planning something big. He closed his eyes and concentrated even more. Dan could see an aura in the color of gray appear covering the body of the axe-wielder, and Lizeron was covered by a black one. Both of them stopped and looked at each other then started their spells. The dragon cried and next to him many pieces of piercing ice appeared. The scaly whispered some words and in one-moment winds started to blow and it was getting colder in the stadium and tiers. Lizeron fired the two first of his icicles and then run behind them to create a diversion using the ice pieces. But the Draconic had control over the air, using just a finger, blowing everything away. Liz flew even closer to the ground and to Dan's surprise his icicles were following him. He didn't lose a lot of time and flew past all the air that was hitting him. He then threw the three remaining icicles to his enemy. The Draconic wasn't so slow though and blew two of the frozen icicles away and also avoided the third one which landed between feet.
Lizeron grinned evilly looking at his opponent, who was again sending his tornado on him and this time he had no more ice to defend himself. And then, at the moment all seemed to end, the Draconic cried as ice covered his entire body, little by little covering his feet, then his hands and only the head remained out. The dragon landed down next to the frozen opponent fast, and stayed next to him.
"I will kill him! So you watch Dan, or his death will be in vain" A voice echoed in the head of the husky surprising him for a second.
"No, please don't" He thought back.
"And why should I let him live?" Lizeron sounded worst by any passing word.
Dan couldn't think what to do. He knew the dragon meant it. He didn't hesitate to violently enter his head before, and he was his best friend and lover. "If you do, what will you earn?" the husky asked worried some tears falling down his cheeks.
"Do I need to earn something to kill him? Why not for the fun of it?"
"Don't even think about this! You hear me? NEVER! This enemy of yours has a life too. Let him live his life. You have proven everyone! You won the battle. So just stop now... let him live, or... please!" Dan didn't know what to say anymore. He cried and looked away.
Down at the arena the dragon was looking at where his blue colored friend was sitting. He knew by then, that Dan learned of his behavior, but Dan meant so much to him. It wasn't the lover that made him worried. It was the friend. He sighed heavily and turned to see the trapped scaly in the ice he had created. Even if it was hard for him to admit, the Draconic was an example for imitation, his eyes closed waiting for his death to come, not moving a single muscle out of fright.
"What's your name, warrior of the Draconics?" Lizeron asked, starting with the words he many times used before killing a target.
"Barl Draconic, younger of the Wardragons" the bulky male responded, looking at the dragon in the eyes, and waiting for his end. The ice covering him, started moving, pointy edges appearing, same thing was happening to the inside of the ice too. And blood started covering the azure colored ice, a small amount of pierces appearing close to the head of the huge lizard.
"Live and fight another day, I suppose" Lizeron said and the Draconic disappeared into thin air, Lizeron vanishing with him.
"Whoa!! That's the type of fight I am talking about!" Rak cheered "Your friend is amazing Dan! He had half his arm screwed and he froze the injury to go on, and the trap in the end was awesome! Damn your friend is cunning". But Dan wasn't replying so happily even with his friend becoming the winner.
"Would you like to talk?" The gryphon whispered and Dan looked again at him "Like for example who entered your mind?"
Dan got stunt. "What makes you think someone was in my mind?" he asked as calmly as possible
"You were shivering and searching for someone like he whispered you... so I guess I understood immediately" the gryphon said and giggled
"Nah no need.Where is Joilin?" Dan said to change the topic
"Oh, Joi? Over there" He said and pointed at where the hand of god was sitting and next to her Dan could see four magicians one furry and three scalies. The roo next to the hand of god was Joilin who was talking and taking care of Lizeron's injury, leaving Dan with his mouth wide open once again.
"You know... I am really proud of what you did" Joilin whispered to her stubborn friend who was looking away from her at all times. She didn't talk a lot either, but she wanted to let this one get to him. She continued bandaging his arm, after she had put some herbs on the torn muscles to help it heal. She had to do her job smoothly and correctly so that the hand of god she was working under wouldn't lose a lot of energy in order to treat the dragon's injury.
"It was nothing" the dragon whispered and looked angrily at the place of where the Draconic ice pillar was standing. The teleporters around him were trying to break the ice and once they managed it, the huge scaly was good to go.
"I have a feeling that I know who I should thank for your sudden behavior change" the roo said again while closing the bandage with a knot.
"Why did you tell him Joi? He doesn't have to know" the dragon said and hid his face in his hands, looking a little desperate.
Joilin couldn't help to see her friend sad. She smoothly caressed his bandaged arm and then with the same smooth touch she patted his forehead. "Dandelion was drugged in this because you wanted him to be the normal you would bring here... At least explain to him you are doing this for his protection, and for your own" she whispered while embracing the dragon's head. "I did tell him you change, so he was warned. But I didn't feel like telling him why. You are the one with the responsibility to talk to him, and if needed, train him. Besides you must give me some credit. I played my theatrical part very nice"
"But he won't understand if I do this the good way... He must pass through the tough parts to learn about this" Lizeron tried to explain to Joi.
"Yeah, but if you don't explain to him, he won't understand at all" she whispered again in the dragon's ear and she slowly cleaned away, a tear that fell from the fighter's eyes. "Just go talk to him... You will see. Everything will end up fine"
The fights were coming and going in frond on Dan's eyes. He was so emotionless, unlike he was at the start of the matches. Rak had tried many things to make him cheer up, even offered him a muzzlejob, but the husky's joy wasn't returning in his body. All the fights had one winner and one loser, but in the relationship between him and Lizeron, Dandelion felt like there was no winner at all. The dog wasn't paying attention to anyone, not even to poor Rak, who had tried everything that came in his mind to make the dog cheer up, even showing him one of his swords, but the husky didn't seem to be attracted by the fine-cut blade and the jewel that adorned the golden grip.
"Stay here, ok?" Rak said and hoped that Dan would at least listen to him. He went at the edge of the tiers, opened his white wings and flew away.
Dan was left alone. But he didn't care so much. He felt so bad about the way Lizeron treated him, he felt so empty inside, that it didn't matter at all if he was alone outside too. He looked at the clouds in the sky and tried to make himself feel a little better, using his imagination to name what the clouds were shaped at, allowing himself to enter a state of daydreaming. He was left emotionless. for a small second he thought Liz would really kill his foe, the scene recreated in his mind and always recalled, trying to analyze it, to explain to himself that it was a fraud illusion. he again cried, understanding the bitter truth.
Lizeron walked up the stairs leading to the tiers in which his friend was sitting at. He was sweating from the running and from his injury causing him pain with any move he did. He found the husky looking at the sky and regretted the way he acted towards Dan. He moved slowly next to the dog, and sat next to him.
"I wanted to apologize for this" Liz said calmly, looking at the floor, obviously meaning his words, from the bottom of his heart. A tear dropped from his eyes and landed between the dragon's legs.
Dan watched him slowly crying a little. He couldn't just tell at Liz "never talk to me again" and even if he did he would try to apologize later to the dragon a few moments later. "Why should I accept your apologies, when I am the one suffering so much by reasons I am not responsible?" he asked, his voice betraying his sorrow and heartbroken feeling.
"I will tell you everything you need to know, this time I won't hurt you" he said and laid his neck on the shoulder of his husky mate, just when he found the chance.
"I don't know. Can I trust you really? Last time you seemed like willing to kill me" Dan responded emotionless, simply revealing the facts he had learned.
"I am not doing this cause I am a lunatic, even if that's a little true" the dragon whispered in the husky's ear, cuddling him a little, understanding his low tone voice calmed the dog down. "I belong to a powerful family, aimed countless times by anyone you can imagine. This is the only way I had figured to make it all easier. If you learn things about me that are not a general knowledge to the people here, you might be in danger and I can't let you be in danger because of me" he ended his talk with a reassuring lick on the neck of his friend, causing the husky to gain nice shivers.
"I can start to believe you. I don't want to lose you, but you better watch out with me" the husky sighed as he recalled in his mind the scene at the woods and his soul kicked out his own body. "I will give you the chances you need to prove me wrong. I just hope that I am right about talking to you. And the first thing I demand is that you explain all of your past to me"
"You won't regret it mate. I promise you won't" Liz whispered as he slowly turn his friend's face to him, giving a long passionate kiss to the one who was his love.
W00T chapter two ended ;)
I hope some furs enjoyed it as much as I did writing it. All of the comments are acceptable and I really wanna hear some opinions :)
Dan and Liz!
