Sergal Tails 6
#6 of Sergal Tails (The Story of two Sergals)
With the new information from Starlah, Blaze is understanding that like her, Mr. Locke is having someone to protect. Even the hatred for the deed is counter-measured by the reason for her. The peace doesn't last long, as a rather bizarre case reaches the office about a murder taking place in a cold storage room, where the murder victim has been killed by an arrow through the brain, leaving after himself an unconscious male fox. Question is, what happened there?
This story is connected to actual lore and is set during the time of Trials of Love the Frostclaw Chronicles.

"Wow, for a fox, you are quite heavy." The beagle said as he pulled the unconscious reynard into the warehouse while grinning, "Boss will be pleased when you are removed from service. You always remained a thorn in his side. Was just a matter of time before you would betray him." The beagle laughed before putting him down in front of a window, walking over to toolbox standing nearby to retrieve a screwdriver that he was planning to undo the screws on a cargo box with.
Outside the warehouse at a hill, a tall female wolf stood and watched, a bow armed and ready with the string pulled back as she was aiming carefully for the beagle, "I will not let you get away with this, Sie betrügerische Hund." Finding that sweet moment of time, she laid the bow on the side and drew the string back even more, before she let it go and the arrow began to fly towards its intended target.
The beagle had undone the last screw on the cargo box, removing the lid as he then walked over to the fox and was grinning, "No one will find you in time, little fox." It was then that the window shattered and the beagle screamed out in pain as an arrow pierced through his skull and into his brain, almost instantly killing him. As the beagle slowly fell backwards, the security camera caught the arrow on tape and the security alarm began to fill the warehouse with loud sounds.
Back at the detective agency, both Blaze and Starlah were eating some tomato soup, which for the first time in Blaze's life was not even spiced up a bit. Starlah looked up at Blaze who was eating slower than usual, "You are thinking about what I told you, aren't you?" Blaze looked at him and sighed, "Yeah, I cannot believe that all he was doing up until now has been to protect his friends." Starlah nodded before taking the bowl and drinking down the tomato soup, "Yeah, makes me wanna help him a bit." The phone suddenly began to ring and Blaze walked over to answer it, "Sergal Tails detective agency, this is Blaze speaking." Blaze's face turned into that of confusion, "An arrow in the forehead and someone was left on the scene of the crime? We'll be right there." Blaze put the phone back on the holder and looked at Starlah, "The cops are coming in ten minutes to pick us up."
After ten minutes, Starlah and Blaze stood outside of the doors of the agency as a police cruiser drove up to them and Blaze waved, "Good day, officer Leon." The lion officer waved back as Blaze pushed a button on her key-chain as Eric came driving and stopped near the cruiser, the door opening up as the male AI's voice spoke, "Good day, officer. No worry, I plan to follow the regulations of the law to every detail flawlessly." The lion laughed, "That is good, but maybe some time you should let someone control the car and not just you." Blaze got into the driver's seat and Starlah got into the other seat, soon securing their seat-belts as officer Leon began to escort them to the crime scene.
It took them about twenty minutes to reach the scene, the area was surrounded with cops and even an ambulance with paramedics loading the unconscious fox into the back, Leon soon speaking up, "The security guard sounded the alarm and contacted us after seeing the unconscious fox and also someone falling backwards after being hit by an arrow in the forehead. No one could trace the origin of the arrow yet, but the projectile direction and the depth of penetration suggests that they were close and stood outside. This is the trademark of that mysterious assassin, but this was done with an arrow, so it makes no sense."
Blaze and Starlah followed the officer inside, soon witnessing the scene where the beagle laid dead, but in the arrow's place was a stick, and from the looks of it, the stick was almost gone inside the head, "Head-on, apply directly to the forehead?" Starlah and Leon looked at her before shaking their heads, "Come on, this is no time for jokes." Blaze was quickly noticing the box that was open, walking over to it and looking inside, "It seems like either the victim wanted to stuff the fox away in this box, or someone really underestimated the size of this guy." Starlah looked at the screwdriver and carefully picked it up after pulling on a plastic glove from Leon, "I think this can give the answer to that question."
Leon took the tool and handed it to a forensics detective to check for fingerprints and after just a few minutes, "Sir, the prints came out positive for Lenny Johnson, bodyguard for one of the politicians and also one of the four members in the pop- and rock group The Beagles." Blaze grunted, "He was part of The Beagles? I loved their latest album, Blue Space Marine." Starlah was quick to cover Blaze's maw as she tried to sing the chorus to the song, "Blaze, not the time to sing." Blaze blushed before Starlah looked at Leon, "Is it possible that we could possibly visit the reynard once he has woken up?" Leon just nodded, "Of course. We will keep you informed about it." Blaze on the other hand had a different idea, "No, when he is released from hospital, I want him to be brought to the agency. I got a few questions to ask him." Leon did not disobey the lady's wish and watched as Blaze left the scene of the crime and headed back to the car before Starlah caught up to her, "Where are you going?" Blaze gave him a triumphant smile, "To wait for our next client."
The End.
