Fredril, the travelling merchant, finally makes his stop in Mossly, carrying news of the happenings in Astal. A few clever guesses reveal more about Ailmer's past, and the discovery of one of the gem monsters sends ripples through the town. The rumblings of war are passing through the world, and it seems as if Ailmer's peaceful existence in Mossly may be at an end sooner rather than later... That is not to say that Beroan isn't going to take advantage of every second with his new human friend. At least, the copious amounts of dragon sex seem to be cheering Ailmer up.

Here's the third chapter of dragonpet, coming out with the first steps I've taken to change how much I write - finished it in about 3 days of work, and I seem to be keeping up the pace. I'm also starting to get excited about this story, too - the rumblings are starting to come to a head, and there are many eventful days on the horizon.

Dragonpet CH:3

Days passed by quickly. Ailmer's chores passed by in a blur between Beroan's eager distractions, enough that his loins ached from restless use. When he mentioned his sore cock to the Beroan, the drake only offered to 'lick the wound'; whether or not the insufferably horny dragon was being facetious, Ailmer had no hope of telling. It didn't take more than a week for Beroan to recovered almost completely - leaving the drake with only a few scars from his ordeal, most minimized by Ailmer's care. It was not a moment too soon, either; the hot days of early fall had given way to the fitful season's experiments with the chills of winter. Cold winds had begun to blow through the forests in the mountains, heralding the busiest season for the miller.

He was easily able to talk Beroan into helping around the mill. He certainly appreciated the dragon's extra strength, and it didn't take much to bribe him into working. Beroan seemed to honestly enjoy the work as well though Ailmer couldn't tell if it was from the time spent with him, the lascivious rewards that often galvanized him into it, or if the drake simply enjoyed doing the work. He supposed, sadly, that the drake had no other place to go.

They were rather alike in that regard.

Since Ailmer had found Beroan, however, he'd started to feel slightly happier. He couldn't tell the drake how thankful he was to have someone else in the oft-empty mill. He'd never realized exactly how quiet his home was until he'd had someone else to share it with. As much as he lamented the lack of privacy, even though there was not much he kept private around the horny dragon, the noises and the companionship of someone else filled a hole he'd long since stuffed to the back of his mind.

The dreams had gotten better, too. His nightmares had started to subside as well. Though there were times that he'd found Beroan sleeping on the floor to avoid his full-body spasms but even after the handful of days since he'd found the dragon, the worst of the nightmares had already begun to taper off. Ailmer had been able to avoid his dreams for couples of nights in a row, something that Ailmer could barely remember ever happening. That was not to say that they were gone, however. His journeys to the strange underground world still happened several times, all ending the same way. Of course, the location he'd dive into the caves on his azure streak was always different. The mountains, and more importantly, the stars above them, were always exactly the same. The constellations were the same - but they were off slightly.

He'd returned to his maps. It had been months since he'd managed to stomach looking at the ink-stained diagrams and the math on his study desk. There was something wrong with the constellations in his dreams. He'd spent years triangulating directions from the glimmering points in the sky, trying to draw them out, match them up with the stars outside. They had gotten him to this mountain range, but he had never been able to get any closer to his goal. He'd added to his star maps in the past few days with the added clarity that had come to him in the most recent dreams, but he was still pulling his hair out trying to actually match his dreams to any places in these mountains.

He could feel it. He always could; mages always put significant stock in their dreams, and these were different. He could feel the pull of some incredibly powerful magical force that was leading him on in his search. He knew this place existed, and he could still feel the pull on his soul. Perhaps it was the brilliant crystal in the subterranean land calling him, maybe it was the behemoth. However, the link, and the clarity of his dreams, had weakened massively since...

He'd spent hours sobbing into the maps. He had to completely recopy one after the ink had run as his grief had hit him again. He had barely managed to clean himself up completely before he'd returned out. Ailmer had nearly forgotten that he wasn't entirely alone in his home any longer.

Beroan helped, though. It was more than just the sex, of course. He always found some way to get Ailmer to open up; or if not, at least feel somewhat better. Ailmer had managed to keep his secrets so far. Beroan tried his best not to pry, though Ailmer could not help but grimace every time he shut down one of Beroan's curious questioning paths when he drifted to close to a few topics.

But, all was well, at least for now. Beroan was much happier than he had been in a long time, and Ailmer found himself smiling without forcing himself to for the first time in years.

"Why don't you just set that pack down for the night? We've made plenty of time today."

"I know your game, lizard. We're ahead of schedule, sure, but we're still in the middle of a war." Ailmer answered.

The drake replied with a beautiful chuckle that made Ailmer's heart skip a few beats. It was a peculiar noise, a sound of amusement that Ailmer had come to know signaled a few things... All of them good. "But it's getting dark, Ail." He replied with a practiced lilt, "Why don't we build a fire. My tail is getting cold."

Ailmer shook his head, his face split from ear to ear in a tremendous smile. He gave one final glance over the valley spread in front of them, turning to watch the reflection of the setting sun in the blade of his gleaming glaive. The sky burned bright reds and pinks as the sun began to dip down behind the ridges on the opposite side of the valley. "Fine, then. Let me get this armor off, then, I suppose we aren't going to get much further today."

The drake slunk around him, licking his lips as he replied with an insolent grin. "I'm just completely beat. I don't think I can plod along another mile. I still think that we could just fly."

Ailmer unbuckled his thick breastplate, fondling over a new gouge deep across the metal. He shook his head at the dragon's insolent smile, licking his lips. "It's useless to argue with you, stubborn drake. Anyway, we both know that it takes quite a bit more than fire to warm your tail."

The dragon's grin simply widened.

***

Ailmer woke slowly from his dream. It had been a long time since he'd thought back that far. Thankfully, the conflicting emotions that the old memory stirred up in him moved away from the crippling depression that they usually brought up towards a bit more of a fuge... that was almost strong enough for him to completely miss the dragon ass wagging in front of his face.

"Mnh, good morning, Ailmer. You were making these lovely moans while you were sleeping..." Beroan rumbled from above him.

Ailmer was very glad that the dragon was looking the other way, the drake's flanks a very good thing to hide his sudden blush behind. Ailmer took a few moments to answer, simply taking in the view of the dragon's hindquarters, from his flagged tail that was wagging slowly from side to side in a way that showed off the dragon's rump, down his strong legs to his paws resting on either side of him, to the scaled vent that the needy dragon was showing off. The thick rod of drooling dragon flesh pressing against his chest through nothing more than a thin sheet was another hint of the drake's morning intentions. "What do you mean, Berooh-" He started, cut off with a moan as the dragon's muzzle slipped down, his tongue wrapping around Ailmer's stiff shaft, squeezing through the sheet wrapped around his morning wood.

Beroan answered with a chuckle, giving a long, slow suck to Ailmer's rod through the fabric while he ground his rump back. Ailmer shook his head, reaching up to grab the dragon's rump with both hands, kneading in just under the male's thick tail base. He took his time, squirming slightly underneath the drake as he massaged into the dragon's strong rump muscles, watching the scales shift around his vent. He took his time, slowly stroking closer towards that vent until his thumbs were gently working just outside the scales that surrounded that vent. Beroan rumbled softly, opening his muzzle to let Ailmer's saliva-soaked tent slip from his lips so he could talk; right before Ailmer took his revenge on the drake, leaning forward to lay a long, warm lick up the dragon's tail vent.

Beroan's sentence was lost as he gave a hot moan, the dragon looking back at the human incredulously. He whined softly as soon as Ailmer's tongue left his vent, grinding his hips back against the human's face. Ailmer grinned to himself, one hand drifting down to warmly rest on the top of the dragon's shaft, groping gently along the thick, throbbing member as his other one slid a bit closer to Beroan's vent--his thumb pressing into the dragon's clenching, sensitive tail vent to pull gently to the side, letting Ailmer lay another slow lick against the dragon.

Beroan gasped, biting his lip as he squirmed above the human. The position certainly had him on top, but with Beroan's cock in his hand and his ass grinding eagerly against Ailmer's face, it was obvious that the dragon was completely under Ailmer's thumb. Ailmer gave a small rumble of pleasure himself, laying a warm kiss against that tail vent as he pulled back slightly, leaving an instantly-pent-up Beroan panting above him. The dragon's cock flexed warmly against his palm, trying to pull up towards his belly and push the warm member harder against Ailmer's warm hand. "Mnnfh... I was going to ask why you still wear those weird pants to bed." He managed.

Ailmer glanced around the dragon's ass, slowly slipping his finger in, bit by bit. Beroan gasped hotly, biting his lip gently as he shifted his head to show Ailmer his bulge, the human's cock trapped inside of dragon-saliva soaked cotton. Ailmer shook his head, chuckling to himself. "What, you mean underwear?"

Beroan huffed and nodded, eagerly grinding his as back to trap the human's face back under his tail, trying to get him to put his tongue to better use. He nodded quickly, squirming a bit as he leaned down to nose at and gently bite the waist-tie of the human's bloomers. "Yesh. 'S frustrating." He mumbled out, tugging Ailmer's underwear back.

Ailmer chuckled quickly to himself as the drake's purr reached him as soon as his shaft was exposed to open air. Ailmer grinned mischievously, kneading warmly over Beroan's ass, as he replied, "You just want to get to my cock faster, don't you, kinky little lizard."

Beroan huffed and ground his ass back a bit harder against Ailmer's attentions, his motion backfiring as Ailmer's thumb teased out a shot moan from the drake. The green dragon squirmed, biting his lip one more time as he enjoyed the attention, before opening his muzzle to take Ailmer's shaft right into his hot muzzle, his tongue wetly winding around the human's throbbing cock. "Mnhf, nothing wrong with it, I just like it." He mumbled.

Ailmer licked his lips... before he licked his dragon, slurping all the way up from the base of Beroan's stiff cock to the very top of his quivering anal vent. The feeling over Beroan's whining gasp over his shaft was his reward, a motion that did nothing but reinforce the human's grin. He shook his head, panting softly over that vent as he gave it another long, hot slurp. "You know how taboo that is, for a dragon to like humans so much?"

Beroan shivered a bit, the dragon tempering his embarrassment by sucking powerful over the human's cock, using his nimble tongue to tease squirms out of the human underneath him.He certainly couldn't get the same response as the human was forcing out of him, but every hot huff of wet breath against his tail vent and every squirm of the human underneath his cock was enough to give him some sort of revenge. "'S not unheard of..." He mumbled.

Ailmer grinned, smirking as his hand came up to grope over the dragon's beefy cock that was busy drooling a warm, slick puddle of precum over his chest as he leaned up, pressing his tongue suddenly into Beroan's clenching tail vent. The dragon agboe him replied with a hot whine around his shaft as he tried to clench down around that slick invader, but Ailmer's thumb kept the dragon's ass entirely vulnerable to his oral assault. "It's not polite to talk with your mouth full, dirty, uncouth lizard. You'll get to defend yourself after you finish sucking down a human's load." He teased.

Beroan replied with a deeper whine; for a moment, Ailmer thought he may have actually insulted a proud dragon which was certainly a bad plan when his cock was already inside the drake's toothy maw. Dragons were certainly known for their pride... but with that, Ailmer supposed as Beroan's eager gulping over his shaft redoubled, it came with doubly strong fetishes for that particular bit of their culture's subversion.

Ailmer huffed hotly, grinding slowly up into Beroan's muzzle. It was hard to grind dominantly from his position under the dragon--it was not nearly as easy as the positions that let Ailmer hold onto the drake's horns and really drive in--but he still managed it as the dragon whined and squirmed above him. His tongue pressed hotly into the dragon's vent, carefully teasing and taking special care to work harder over the spots that made the dragon's cock flex eagerly against his hand.

It didn't take either of them entirely too long. With the horny dragon's eagerness and Ailmer's tongue working the dragon's sensitive vent, neither of them could really hold their morning wood back for far too long. Ailmer's hips rolled slowly against the dragon's muzzle, pushing it up slightly as Beroan took careful care of his whole length; Ailmer could feel the dragon's tongue exploring over every bit of his shaft, a sensation that made him melt. Beroan, however, was quivering above the human, his cock eagerly throbbing and drooling against the soft, teasing creature's hand as that tongue worked his clenching, sensitive tail hole, held open by the human's thumb.

Beroan was the first to cum with a shivering, eager whine as Ailmer's tongue hit some oversensitive spot just inside of his vent. He gasped around the human's shaft, clenching tightly down around that thumb and tongue as he couldn't help but grind his ass down against the human's face. His cock throbbed and pulsed, the dragon's stiff member pressing up against Ailmer's groping palm as it shot the dragon's prodigious load over Ailmer's front and whatever sheets were still covering him in thick shots of white cream.

Ailmer couldn't hold back as his face was pressed up against the dragon's rump. Especially as the sound of Beroan's shuddering moan reach his ears, combined with the feeling of his flexing cock in his hand and the hot dragon seed splashing over his front, not to mention Beroan's talented tongue squeezing in a coil all the way down his cock fro the tip, he couldn't help himself but grind up against the dragon's lips to pour his own orgasm into the dragon's mouth. Beroan gulped quickly, barely keeping the presence of mind as Ailmer's tongue wiggled in his vent, to pull back, giving an eager purr as he held the base of the human's cock with his tongue to watch as the rest of Ailmer's load splashed over his face and muzzle.

They were both left for a few moments, panting against each other before a few warm pats to Beroan's rump had the drake raise up, lazily flopping to the side on his back. He lazily pawed at the air beside the human, his thick cock still out and mostly hard--strands of the dragon's cum connecting his tip to the human's front while Ailmer panted and reached down to gently rub and adjust his cock, the shaft glistening with saliva. Beroan rumbled and leaned his head over to nose Ailmer's hand away with a light, sticky nuzzle, wrapping his tongue lightly around the human's tip to work it clean. Ailmer rumbled, huffing softly as he tried to pull back a bit, though he couldn't help but take a moment to enjoy the view of his tip in the drake's muzzle, his white cum drooling down the dragon's green scales. "Beroan, I've got a bunch of things to do today... Gotta get that four down to town, Fredril is going to be in today. I'll still have to cook, bathe..."

"Wash the sheets." Beroan rumbled insolently.

Ailmer chuckled and gave a sharp slap to Beroan's ass.

***

Beroan finally let Ailmer get up after quite a bit more playful teasing. Damn dragons... Ailmer knew it was almost pointless to keep them from what they wanted, but after he'd convinced Beroan with a few promises of a good dinner and a few more lascivious things to come after, the drake finally let Ailmer get to work.

Cleaning and cooking went rather fast, leaving Ailmer finishing loading up his cart with the dragon's help. He'd considered trying to get the town to accept Beroan enough to get his help unloading, but he couldn't imagine any way he could introduce them and have it go well. He sighed, shaking his head as he gave a wave to the drake, hefting the cart up to start plodding towards town.

Honestly, more than the help with labor, he would enjoy the dragon's company on these walks to town. He wasn't far, by any means, but contemplation had begun to catch up with him.

He sighed, glancing up at the bright midmorning sun that was highlighting the hills and mountains above them. He'd not gone on another search into the forest since he'd found Beroan. He caught himself making excuses in his head almost immediately. He was busy, it was a rough season, he was tired, he'd barely made any progress on his starmaps--He needed to go, though. He was starting to get antsy at home Even without the dreams goading him on, the always-futile trips up into the forest and mountains, searching for the city in his head, were the only way he'd found to combat his listlessness.

Maybe he'd bring Beroan. Honestly, he doubted that the dragon wouldn't give him a choice if he noticed the human gearing up for one of his short expeditions. It's not like he could stop the drake from flying after him, and honestly, now that he knew about the Ikthil in the mountains, he'd be much more comfortable with a dragon by his side.

Just like old times.

He was very glad that there was no one else on the pathway with him as that thought crossed his mind. He collapsed, dropping the cart to curl up against it, choking back a sudden rush of emotion. He rocked himself slightly, closing his eyes tightly as he fought back tears, alternately cursing himself for his infantile control of his emotions and trying to keep himself from descending deep into despair.

Ailmer finally regained control of himself several minutes later. He hefted the cart up after brushing himself off, making sure he was entirely presentable. He sighed, glancing up at the deep blue sky, pain streaking his face.

***

Ailmer arrived in town after another ten minutes or so of pointedly slow walking as he tried to swallow and lock down his emotions before reaching town. Thankfully, the sudden bustle of the merchant's arrival gave the town plenty of activity to keep Ailmer distracted. As soon as he came around the bend, it was obvious that Fredril was in town--from the excited children sucking on the exotic sweets Fredril always brought back to the people carrying crates of orders and sacks of goods from out of town to gear up for the coming fall and winter days ahead. Of course, Fredril would be back by at least once more before the first snows of winter started to clog up the pass, but it was the harvest season and the villagers had plenty of coin to trade before their stockpiles got chipped away.

"Ailmer!" Fredril called from the top of one of his carts, the pudgy trader pushing a pair of thin-framed eyeglasses up his jolly face before he hefted a sack of Astalian apples to a waiting farmer.

"Fredril! It's been a bit, hasn't it?" Ailmer called back.

Fredril chuckled, nimbly hopping down off the cart, nearly losing his footing as he landed, but he caught himself and turned the stumble into a flourishing bow. "Of course, my liege! I missed you last time I was in town."

Ailmer chuckled, withdrawing the hand he'd surreptitiously put out to catch the trader if he'd begun to fall. "Sadly, you did. I trust Sebastian got you your order?"

"He did, and I trust he got you my coin?" Ailmer said.

"We both know that pincher. He couldn't misplace a copper if his life depended on it."

Ailmer snorted, shaking his head. "Damn, I wish I hadn't missed you last time. Always a pleasure."

"Pleasure's all mine, milord." Fredril replied with a cockeyed grin, "So, what can I get for you?"

"Well, you know me. There's a whole list of random goods, as well as a few bigger ones. But first, some news from the other side of the border?" Ailmer asked.

Fredril's smile disappeared, the trader shaking his head. "The news will have to wait." He curtly stated, taking a slow breath to return his jolly smile to his face, "I'll buy you a drink at the tavern, then, if you're disappointed."

Ailmer shook his head. "I'll add a bag of those good apples to the list then."

Fredril's smile turned down just a bit as he nodded. "Might be a long time until we see those again. Best you enjoy them."

***

Beroan rumbled, idly rolling from side to side. As much as he knew it was necessary, he didn't like seeing Ailmer go. He knew why, of course. Humans got weird when there were dragons around. Those clans that demanded tribute for their intermittent 'protection' had given them a reputation and the rest of the dragon's general isolationist habits and the human's strange fear of their magic solidified the rest of it.

But humans were just so...interesting. It might have just been Beroan, but the green drake couldn't deny his own interest in the strange creatures. He'd be lying if he claimed that he hadn't spent an hour after Ailmer had left the mill playing with the grindstone, examing how the grooves mashed grains of wheat and spread the shells from the flour and the strange interlocking mechanisms that made the turn handle move the stone much more quickly than the one pushing it. Even the simple wheel and axle system of their various carts had fascinated him, even after he'd figured out how it worked.

Their machines besides, Beroan certainly had a fascination with humans himself. They had a lovely form - their soft skin was exotic, and their... well. He stopped that train of thought rather quickly as he felt his ear fins redden. His socially-unacceptable behavior towards Ailmer had, thankfully, gone over quite well. He was unsure what the human was going to do with his first approach. He'd though it was brash and irresponsible then, but, he also couldn't think of better words to describe most of his behavior. It had gotten him into quite a few messes, he thought, but if he'd been less impulsive, he probably would have gotten caught in the fires ravaging Astal.

He shook his head, turning his thoughts to better things. Ailmer had fallen into it much better than Beroan had expected. He knew that most humans certainly didn't see dragons that way, the same way that most dragons certainly would never bring themselves to even think about much of the behavior that they'd engaged in over the past week or so. Ailmer had needed almost no goading... and shards, some of the things he could do. Beroan shivered a bit as he thought back over some of the little tricks and touches the human had put on him. And by his claws, some of the things Ailmer could do with his tongue...

Beroan huffed hotly, glancing down at the throbbing cock jutting out between his legs. He squirmed slightly, huffing to himself, glancing quickly from side to side. Well... A few licks wouldn't hurt.

Beroan rumbled softly as he drew his long tongue over the top of his cock. He gave a soft huff as his tongue met his quivering arrowhead tip, the dragon groaning softly as he reached under his shaft with a forepaw to warmly grope and support it as he lapped softly over the tip of his own cock. He rumbled gently, starting slowly, as he always did, to savor the feeling of sucking his own cock. His paw digits warmly groped and rubbed over the underside of his thick shaft, feeling over each ridge and how the core changed texture as it stiffened more and more under his attentions, especially as he warmly wrapped the tip of his tongue around the head of his shaft to squeeze around it.

He huffed softly through his nostrils, savoring the feeling. His paw worked slowly up and down his shaft, slowly milking out just a bit of salty precum onto his tongue. He gave a soft rumble, slowly grinding into his palm before he gave up teasing himself, slowly pushing his hips forward to sink the head of his cock between his lips. He gave a soft huff as his dragonhood pushed into his muzzle, bit by bit until he'd pressed nearly half his cock into his mouth. His paw held his shaft just at the base, right underneath the shadow of his forming knot, as he sucked over the top half of his throbbing cock.

He wouldn't admit how much he loved the taste. He huffed to himself, slowly sucking and bobbing on that top half before he repositioned himself, using his tail behind him for balance as he shifted, pushing himself forward to move his head forward and give his hips room to work. He slurped and gently worked over the upper portion of his shaft as he adjusted, murring to himself as he prepared for the next part.

As soon as he was in position, he pushed his hips forward eagerly, driving almost the whole length of his own cock down his muzzle. He squinted a bit, nearly gagging as the tip entered his throat, but the dragon gave a soft huff through his snout and only barely paused to control his reflexes before he thrust in all the way, moaning gently as he kissed his own vent. His thick cock pulsed and throbbed in his muzzle, the dragon's toes splaying out on the ground as he gulped along the dragon dick swelling out his throat.

He squirmed slightly, the dragon making sure he was positioned correctly before he began to hump himself. Small noises of pleasurable moans cut off by the soft 'glrk' of his cock pressing into his own throat sounded from him as he worked his hips in, simply fucking his muzzle. He squirmed a bit, sorting through the various scenarios he tended to go through in his head while he was doing this; commonly, he'd imagined other dragons humping into him like this, nice big, thick drake cocks making his jaw ache and throat sore... but the more he tried, the more he imagined Ailmer wrapping his fingers around the dragons horns and yanking him forward, pounding right into his muzzle.

Beroan whined softly, gasping when he could as his cheek scales burned hot as the thought crossed his mind. He squirmed in place, trying to readjust as images of Ailmer tugging on his horns or that rope as he thrust into his muzzle, that cock dragging along his tongue, forcing right through the coils to dip into his throat, those strange, lovely balls pressing against his lips...

Beroan let out an eager, squirming whine as he couldn't help his hips from going faster, thrusting quickly back into his own throat. His motions were faster and much less controlled as his fantasy hit him, the dragon shivering... with a deep moan he bucked into his maw one, two more times, pressing his lips against his vent as he ground down against them.

Though, his fantasy weakened slightly as he felt his cock pulse in his muzzle. He squirmed slightly, lips locked tightly behind his knot as the first blast of tasty cum poured into his maw, the dragon eagerly drinking it down. He always enjoyed the feeling of his own cock throbbing inside of his mouth as he hit climax... but he instantly thought of the human's shaft doing the same. He teased a hot whine, mumbling something into his cock as another shot of cum poured right into the dragons' throat, the male squirming softly as he gulped down his orgasm.

Beroan squirmed slightly, his hips trying to grind down harder, force himself deeper into his maw as the bulge his tip made in his long throat flexed, spurting a rather moderate orgasm into his maw. "Ail..." Was all he manged around his thick cock through the orgasm.

Finally, he was left panting, his cock throbbing softly in his muzzle as his climax died down. He panted softly through his snout, taking his time to draw his muzzle back, slurping his pointed cock clean as he pulled it out, leaving it glistening in front of his lips, still connected by glistening strands of cum-thickened saliva. He panted hotly, lapping softly over his tip as he relaxed in his afterglow, still working through that fantasy in his head. He squirmed a bit as he lapped over his tingling tip, imagining Ailmer's cum drooling off his muzzle, slurping over those balls as his cock twitched against his snout...

Beroan let out a hot huff, squirming a bit as he examined his rapidly softening shaft, still glistening with saliva. He rumbled to himself, licking his lips as he sat back, slowly recovering his breath and heartrate as he enjoyed the taste on his tongue.

It didn't take long for the dragon to find himself listless yet again. He sighed, glancing up at the barely-afternoon sun, willing it to go just a little bit faster. He briefly considered taking a trip into the mountains, but there wasn't anything for him there. The town was also a now-go, of course. He didn't want to get dirven out with torches and pitchforks.... perhaps another time, when Ailmer was feeling up to it, he could go and introduce him to the townsfolk.

But, he supposed, there were also a few places in the mill he hadn't fully explored yet. And of course, there was no reason for a dragon to not know their cave.

Beroan conveniently let his mind skip over the fact that that Ailmer had requested he stay out. Well, he didn't quite request him to stay out of the study or the rooms past it. He'd never been told they were there, but he could tell from looking at the outside of the house that there was plenty of space he'd not discovered yet.

The locks quickly yielded the treasure of knowledge to the dragon. It certainly would have helped if thy were effectively locked - he didn't have thumbs, but a few tricks with his claw and the simple deadbolt yielded its prize. He'd picked up that skill a while ago - perhaps the strange workings of tumblers in locks where what really got his enthusiasm for human engineering from.

The door swung open slowly into the dusty, dark study. Beroan suddenly felt himself walking into the cold wind of the taboo. This was not a place he was welcome, but the musty smell of long preserved paper and old ink washed over him, bekoning the drake to find out more. He glanced over the shelves on the sides of the room. Leather-bound books fought with tightly wrapped scrolls for shelf space against one another, organized haphazardly. Beroan knew it was the sort of organizationl system of a messy room - it would not make any sense to anyone else, but he would bet his eggshells that Ailmer knew exactly where every word was.

His heart pounded in his chest as he stepped forward thorugh the short racks of books. He moved slowly, his motion stretching out the taboo place reverently as he searched through the room by the light filtering in through the shuttered windows. It was almost like he'd stepped into the dark recesses of a night terror. As much as he didn't want to imagine this place of knowledge and study as an ill land, he couldn't help but feel through the smell of age and the darkness, that the study was if he'd stepped into a pained inner sanctum.

Beroan caught himself, staring at the carefully-titled ink stains down the spines of the bound books lining the shelves. He couldn't read much of it though a few words echoed out to him from the black marks on the books. He needed to have Ailmer teach him to read more at some point. There was so much knowledge locked in a human's quill.

His careful steps, designed to barely disturb even the dust motes floating in the room, brought him through the study towards Ailmer's desk. His heart pounded in his throat, the dragon chewing on his lower lip as he reverently approached the simple oak table. Paper laid scattered over it with crumpled handfuls of the paper littering the ground around it. Beroan carefully walked up to the desk, slowly placing his forepaws up on the padded chair to get a good look at the paper spread over the table.

He could not understand the human's words written over the paper, but he understood the stars. The diagram of the night sky was meticulously measured and plotted, but something struck Beroan as wrong. The stars were in, just slightly, the wrong places. However, he could tell that they were too meticulously measured and plotted from each other to be a mistake. The constellations, they were stretched, pulled like they shouldn't be, with plotted points and numbers putting out... what He could only see as locations. It looked like he was trying to match up the errors in the star map with a detailed map of the mountains near Mossly. The more he looked at it, however, the more impenetrable the diagram became to the dragon. He couldn't match up the right places - there was an experience, a thought, a thread of logic that he simply lacked... but he felt himself drawn towards the map. He could feel the importance of these diagrams in his mind.

Drav Nikon. He carefully read over those human runes; and the draconic scratches next to them.

His jaw dropped open slightly. Ailmer knew draconic? No, there was no way. He couldn't speak it, he'd never seen Ailmer write anything else in draconic, but here they were. The runes, spelling out the name of dragonkind's most treasured, most guarded legend, etched out perfectly beside the human runes, scratched out with the same quill.

In his amazement and confusion, his eyes turned up to the other side of the desk. There they were, arranged in neat little rows--some exotic, some local, but all an easily recognizable assortment of crystals and herbs. All carefully corralled in stoppered glass vials, there was no way that the drake could read the reagents any other way.

Ailmer was a mage.

"Finally done, Ailmer? Leave some for the rest of town." Fredril joked, marking down the last few items that Ailmer had bought.

"We all know you have plenty. Just pile up the cart." Ailmer replied.

Fredril chuckled, glancing at the hand cart. "That going to be enough, Ailmer? Might have to make two trips with your order."

Ailmer rolled his eyes, reaching down into his pouch to draw out a handful of coins, counting through the mismatched silvers and coppers, picking out a gold coin, stamped with the Royal's insignia, along with a few silvers to pay for his hefty order. Fredril grinned, happily accepting the shining metal. He hefted the few coins, picking up the gold to examine it in the light. "Where did you get this one, Ailmer? This is army coin."

Ailmer blinked several times, taken aback as he realized his mistake. "I don't know. I don't keep track of every coin that passes by me." He lied.

Fredril shook his head, carefully looking over the valuable gold coin. "Ailmer, Ailme, what are you playing at?"

Ailmer narrowed his eyes. "Retirement."

Fredril blinked a few times, glancing up from the coin to his longtime customer. It took him a few minutes to notice before his eyes suddenly widened with a sudden burst of recognition. "After so many years, and I never could tell. That is fair, though. I'll leave it, sir."

Ailmer winced. "Please, don't sir me."

Fredril blinked. "I just never thought--I mean, the story goes that you..."

Ailmer shushed him with a sharp grimace. "I know damn well how the story goes. I've buried it, left everything behind. Leave. It." He growled, glancing around to make sure that none of the others were watching.

Fredril wouldn't be put down for long, though, the grin coming quickly back to his face. "Well, that explains it then. I thought that there were a lot of orders for clever little reagents. I'm a bit of a mage myself, too. Look, I can-"

"Makiths fires, Fredril. I know you're excited, but can you please shut up before you get me driven out of town?"

Fredril huffed and crossed his arms. "Sorry. I thought the folks here were a bit more accepting than most."

Ailmer sighed, glancing around to the various people that were crowding the rarely-populated streets. "They are. Doesn't mean I want to risk it, though. I've plenty of secrets as it is."

Fredril sighed softly, glancing around to follow Ailmer's vision. "I suppose so, Ailmer. After everything... Well, then. You'll drink on my purse tonight, then, as my apology."

Ailmer smirked slightly, shrugging. "If you insist. I know I've given you plenty. But you know I'm more interested in the news."

Fredril nodded, sighing as he glanced back over his shoulder towards the way he'd come to town. "Well... Makes a lot of sense that you'd be more interested in that, now."

"I take it that it's as bad as I've heard?"

Fredril's smile didn't return to his face. His brow wrinkled slightly as he thought about it, giving a slight, sad nod.

The afternoon quickly turned into the evening. Ailmer stuck around to help Fredril unload orders for the rest of the townsfolk, a job that Fredril was more than happy to let him work. To be fair, the merchant did his best to try to milk stories out of the newly recognized warrior, though Ailmer was very good at keeping his history locked down.

Finally, though, the others in the village finished their orders and let the merchant into the tavern to tell the stories that they were so interested in. Of course, there were always the descriptions of the other places and anecdotes about his travels, as well as a bit of mail from the next town over. Reece was certainly there as well, presenting Ailmer with his faux copper torch.

However, the tone of the bar turned somber quickly as the subject of the happenings in Astal came up. Fredril gave a slow sigh, finishing off a large tankard of cider before sitting back in his chair. "I won't lie to you. It's bad. There's these... things, monsters, attacking. They're burning Astal. The capital is in flames."

Ailmer chewed his lip slightly. He'd already heard the drake's warning, and with Ikthil so close to town... Sebastian spoke up, refilling Fredril's tankard. "So that would explain the refugees. They keep talking about these big hulking things, made of rock and gems?"

Fredril nodded. "Yes. I ran in with a few of the bastards heading out of Astal. Apparently copper and fire are supposed to do well against them, and my torch seemed more effective than my sword."

Ailmer glanced up from his thoughts. "You're not wounded, are you?"

Fredril shook his head. "Not a scratch, thankfully. They cut one of my donkeys, though."

Ailmer nodded. "How badly?"

Fredril sighed slowly and thankfully took the refilled mug, taking a sow gulp. "A pretty bad gash, across the side. He took ill a couple days later, too. Had to cut him free, he was getting violent with the others."

"I've heard their touch is poison, though." He warned.

Fredril wrinkled his brow, glancing up at Ailmer curiously. "That would explain it, then."

They were interrupted by the door to the tavern slamming open. Everyone glanced up as two of the younger farmers, Sebastian's boy and one of the others from the farms on the mountainside, rushed in, carrying one of the broken spiders from the mountains. They rushed to one of the tables, hefting the heavy creature up onto the heavy wooden table with a thunk. The thing laid limply, Ailmer noticing a few scraps of copper shavings still stuck into the things carapace. Sebastian yelped, "Ardew, put that damn thing down. Hal's light, thing could be poisonous!"

Ailmer blinked a bit, sighing into his drink before simply draining the rest of his cider down, standing up. "Calm yourself, Sebastian. Thing's dead."

"Well, how do you know? Plenty of stories of demons playing dead to leap up again."

Ailmer shook his head, stepping over the Spider. He managed to react a bit faster than the rest of the tavern that quickly filed over to get a closer look. "Where'd you two find this thing?" Ailmer asked, glancing over the strange carapace of the gem-bug.

The two young men glanced at each other. Ardew chewed his tongue a bit before glancing up at Sebastian. "Well, we was going 'sploring, up in the mountains a bit since it was such a nice day. And we stumbled into this here clearing, all torn up. There was big scars of charred grass like part of the place had been all aflame. There was a bunch more of these things there, some of them broken all the way in half, a couple looked like they got caught in the fire."

Sebastian's eyes widened. Ailmer growled softly to himself, stepping forward to examine the broken creature. It had been emerald when he'd killed it, but the gemstones coating the dead creature were streaked with blotches of sickly blackness. "We think it might have been a fight with a dragon, like in the stories! We was thinking we could bring it back and sell the gems on it." The other one piped up.

Ailmer shook his head, lifting the creature by a limp leg. The stone was uncomfortably cold to the touch, even though the night outside was rather warm. "Gems aren't worth anything now. Weren't before, either, if it makes you feel any better. Though your father has a good point. You ever see any of these and they haven't seen you yet, run. They're a lot faster than you'd think."

Fredril frowned, pushing beside Ailmer to look over the creature. "Yeah those kinda things are all over Astal. Some are apparently way larger, too, and way more dangerous."

Ailmer was glad that everyone else was drunk enough to let his sudden lesson on the creature slide by, the expertise that he shouldn't have let slip but for the alcohol loosening his tongue. "They're coming over the mountains already then? Should we prepare?" Sebastian asked.

Ailmer's jaw tightened. Fredril shook his head. "Don't think so. There's still quite a long way between here and where Astal is, plenty of other towns in the way. I'll do my best to get some more guards up to the border, though, when I pass through."

Sebastian nodded slightly, shifting a bit from side to side as he looked over the lien creature on the table. "Well, what do we do with this one then? Put it back?"

Ailmer shrugged, lifting the stone creature by a leg, watching the lamplight flicker through the thick spurs of tainted emerald gemstone. "I'd burn it. Might stink up your forge too much, though, Reece, but toss it on a bonfire on top of some coal and it should go."

Sebastian nodded quickly. "I've got some extra charcoal, I'll burn it in the kiln out back." He said, reaching behind the counter to don a thick pair of leather gloves. "I want to get that thing out of here as soon as possible."

Ailmer nodded, taking a leg of the spider on the opposite side to help him carry out the heavy stone creature.

It didn't take too long for Sebastian to bury it in coal in the modest kiln outside, muttering about his foolish son. Ailmer kept quiet through the process, knowing it was a lost cause to try to keep the innkeeper from his mumblings under stress. They quickly evacuated after lighting the bonfire on the spider - the noxious black smoke brought with it a sickening, bitter odor that quickly forced them back inside.

The tavern inside had quickly turned back to a happier mood, with the people drinking and singing while pointedly leaving the strange creature to burn outside. There was no sense dwelling on the happenings when there was plenty of ale to think about instead, especially when Fredril had a new set of raunchy drinking songs to teach them.

Ailmer, however, was the only one in the tavern that knew how dire the situation was. He certainly wasn't going to spoil the mood, of course, with paranoid thoughts of what may be happening in the coming weeks, months, or possible and hopefully, never. He couldn't help but let the infectious joviality of the tavern's mood rub off on him, however, especially not after he'd had far more cider than he'd enjoyed in a long time.

However, the sun quickly yielded the sky to the moon's care. The night got colder and darker, and patrons began to filter out of the tavern to haul off their goods before it got too late and their alcohol wore off. Soon, there were only a few left in the tavern, and Fredril excused himself and Ailmer to pull him out to finish loading up his purchases.

Snow fell like ash from the fall sky. The moon and the stars still peeked through the patchy storm clouds, giving the pair enough light to carefully pile the boxes and sacks onto Ailmer's cart. "Early snow this year." Ailmer mentioned.

"Yeah, really early. Weather's always odd in the mountains here, though. It'll blow over just fine." Fredril replied, his red-tinted cheeks turned up with his smile.

Ailmer nodded, picking up his heavy cart. He shifted a bit, testing the weight. "Let's hope, then. I'm not ready for winter."

Fredril nodded, looking over the mound of supplies to be sure nothing was shifting. "Can't believe we got it all on there for one trip. Sure you don't want me to come along with one of my carts?"

Ailmer nodded. "I'll be fine. It's not too heavy."

Fredril nodded, giving him a wave as he clambered back onto his carts to finish organizing the last of his merchandise. "Stay warm, Ailmer."

Ailmer glanced up. "I hope we all manage it."

***

Ailmer groaned a bit, panting heavily as he finally brought the overly heavy cart up to the final approach to the mill. He stumbled a bit to the side as his boot glanced off a rock, the drunken human groaning softly as he set the cart down for a moment, trying to regain his balance as the world spun. He'd only had a few…ish, ciders, right? He tried to count, regressing back to using his fingers as aids before that turned into far too much math for his state.

His deliverance came quickly, in the form of a green dragon excitedly bouncing towards him from the mill. He licked his lips as he watched the lithe form of the dragon pounce down the trail. From the dragon's flanks to the way that long, flexible tail wagged behind him in an almost dog-like manner, all the way over that lovely four-legged form. He knew it was wrong, of course. Well, not wrong, but certainly taboo.

He was too comfortable with it, not too mention far too drunk to dive into his depression, to care.

He was busy biting his lip, stifling his appreciation of the dragon's form as Beroan leaped up to him. He couldn't tear his eyes from the other creature, even as the drake hopped over to nose right into Ailmer's belly. "Ail! You've been gone all day." He stated, tail wagging in a surprisingly dog-like manner.

Ailmer reached down, smiling widely as he warmly pet over the dragon's head, scratching just behind the dragon's earfin at the warm scales there. It was a spot that the dragon always seemed to love, the drake squirming in place with a soft huff as he pressed his head against the human's fingers. "Sorry, Beroan. It was a busy day." He said, pointing back to the cart. At least, his words weren't too slurred at the moment, but the pressure from the dragon leaning against him nearly made him lean his balance. "Mnf, Beroan, mind helping me with this cart? Just need to get it to the shed, but I'm a little drunk." He stated.

Beroan glanced up curiously at the human "Drunk?" He asked, blinking slightly though he did pad over to let Ailmer tie the cart to his shoulders.

It took Ailmer several tries to actually fasten a knot that didn't immediately fall apart when the dragon pulled, the distraction keeping him from answering. "Oh! Sorry. It means I've had too much alcohol, like wine or cider today. Good cider, though..."

Beroan nodded slightly, glancing up at the human. "Oh, what does that mean?"

Ailmer huffed and crossed his arms, stumbling after the dragon as the drake pulled the cart along, slowly enough that Ailmer could keep up without falling on his face. That certainly didn't keep Ailmer from stumbling and tripping several times over the rougher ground of the mill's land, mostly due to the fact that his eyes were locked on Beroan's flanks as he worked to pull the cart. Beroan noticed when the human leered at him normally--it certainly didn't slip by the drake's attentions as Ailmer kept his eyes locked on that dragon ass.

Beroan certainly didn't mind, though, and he even made sure to keep his tail lifted just a little bit. As worryingly strange as the human was acting, it didn't seem too bad. He supposed that was what happened to the other humans that he'd seen when they drank too much of the strange fermented drinks he'd been slipped a couple times. He did admit to himself that it was somewhat good to see Ailmer like this, though. There was very little hint of the constant wall he built around himself, and he certainly seemed happy.

Ailmer growled eagerly as Beroan finally pulled the cart through into the shed, the human quickly stepping up to grind himself against the drake's side as he lasciviously undid the impromptu harness. Beroan smirked, pressing himself back against the human as the male's bulge ground in against his side. "Well, it seems like you missed me almost as much as I missed you, Ail."

Ailmer growled warmly, in an almost dragon-like way, a hand reaching back to grab Beroan's tail base. Beroan ground his rump back a bit, licking his lips. "I guess I'm not too good at hiding my, uhm, intentions when I'm like this... But have you seen dragon ass?" Ailmer gushed, his hand stroking down to grope warmly over the drake's hindquarters.

Beroan huffed softly, working his rump back into the human's lecherous hand. He'd be more than happy with the human just hopping over the bar of the handcart and reaming him right there, but he had to stifle a bit of a rumble as that hand pulled away. "Come to bed, dragon?" Ailmer asked.

"With pleasure." Beroan replied.

The walk back to the mill went much faster. Ailmer was certainly eager, and Beroan followed him quickly, ogling the human's back and ass as they went. Ailmer had already tugged his shirt off by the time they got to the door, and his pants were off and scattered haphazardly across the mill's stairwell before they even got upstairs.

With a growl, Beroan leaned up to gently bite the back of the human's underclothing, tugging back. Ailmer squirmed a bit, grumbling to himself as he worked the tight knot holding that damnable cloth on his hips. Finally, he loosened it enough that those fell away to Beroan's eager tugs, kicked off someone on the floor of the bedroom.

Before Ailmer could turn around to show off to the dragon, Beroan had already leaped forward, the dragon's front half on the bed, his legs spread and tail held high. He turn his head to look back over his shoulder, wagging his ass from side to side in front of the drunken human. "C'mere, Ail. Warm this poor dragon tail up."

Aimer grinned, getting over the stunning view rather quickly. He'd have taken his time examining it in any other state of mind; from the flagged, thick tail wagging straight up above the dragon's muscular ass to that incredibly simple but interesting pattern of scales that surrounded the dragon's tail vent, down to the way that the dragon's male vent swelled out around the edges to accommodate the swollen base of the dragon's cock, currently flexing against the side of the bed, but Ailmer couldn't keep himself from holding back, the human's growl sounding very much like a dragon's, above the drake as his hand gripped the male's tail, pushing it hard down against his back as Ailmer stepped right up behind Beroan.

Beroan let out a hot groan as he worked his hips back against the human, grinding his ass eagerly against the male's crotch. He squirmed lightly, letting out a playful moan as he felt Ailmer's warm cock press across his tail hole. The dragon panted softly, grinding his rump slowly up and down to work that vent over Ailmer's shaft, teasing out a soft pant from the drunken human. His cock throbbed neediy against the side of the bed, the dragon squirming softly as he teased the human with his ass. Ailmer growled eagerly, humping playfully against the dragon's ass, spreading a bit of pre over the male's tail base. "Mngh, come on Ailmer, fuck me..." Beroan panted out.

Ailmer bit his lip as the dragon eagerly ground against him. He pulled back, kneading into Beroan's ass with both hands as he lined himself up, teasing that warm vent with the head of his cock, barely able to resist the impulse to just plunge inside. He took his time, at least for a few moments, enjoying the warmth of that tail hole against his cocktip, before suddenly pulling back with a grunt. "Mngh, roll over for me, dragon, so I can stuff you properly." He nearly demanded.

Beroan huffed hotly, whining just a bit as he ground back against those hands that prevented him from forcing the human's cock right into himself. He let out a huff, wagging his ass a bit to work that tip with his warm tailvent before he slowly rolled over onto his back. It took a bit of wiggling to get himself comfortable, but Ailmer helped by hefting the dragon's hind legs up into the air, leaving his tail laid out over the side of the bed and the floor as the dragon's cock throbbed eagerly against his belly. Beroan grinned up at the human, his forepaws pulled back against his front like a begging dog. "Mngh, like this, Ail? Come on, I need your cock in me, so badly..." He panted out.

Ailmer grinned, one arm reaching down to slowly stroke along the underside of the dragon's cock, from tip to base, with a single finger. He still barely managed to keep his cock out of the needy dragon, gently prodding at that tailvent with his dripping cocktip. "Louder, drake, I want to hear how much you want me to pound this scaly ass." He demanded.

Beroan couldn't help a bit of a blush from tinting his earfins. He let out a hot huff, trying to squirm a bit more onto that warm cock. "A-Ail, I want you to fuck me, please! Pound me with that cock, stuff me, mate me, come on... I've been waiting all day for this, please!" He begged.

It was a bit overblown, but it certainly did the trick for the overeager human. Ailmer panted hotly as he simply pushed in, sinking himself into the dragon's waiting tailvent, panting above him as he sunk into the warm, tight tunnel of the dragon on his bed. Beroan let out an eager, shivering moan as that shaft sunk into his ass, the dragon squirming eagerly on the bed as he clenched down around it.

Ailmer moaned hotly, wrapping his fingers around Beroan's cock, his other arm hugging the drake's hind leg to his chest. He huffed hotly as he hilted himself into that hot, flexing vent, burying his cock in the warmth of the dragon's rump. Beroan shivered eagerly, his shaft flexing in Ailmer's hand to spurt a shot of pre out over his front as he clenched around the human's hilted cock, his toes clenching tightly as he enjoyed the feeling of the human's shaft deep inside of him. He panted hotly, the pair mirroring each other's gasps as Ailmer started up an eager rhythm. "S-Shards, Ail..."

Ailmer panted hotly, drawing his shaft almost all the way out before eagerly humping back into the dragon, getting rather deep in the position they were in. Beroan squirmed on the bed, his eyes shut tightly as that cock ground past his prostate and deep into his clenching tunnel, unable to hump back against that shaft as he felt the human's balls smack against his rump. He whimpered needily, trying to hump himself towards the human each time he hilted.

Beroan's eagerness simply goaded Ailmer on. The alcohol, thankfully, kept him from enjoying the dragon's slutty eagerness too much, forcing him to hump hard and fast into the hot tunnel, making lewd claps and teasing out whimpered moans from the dragon underneath him while he pounded quickly into the drake's ass. Ailmer couldn't help but bite his lip as he stroked along the moaning dragon's throbbing cock while he humped, trying to bring himself greedily to his orgasm. Beroan was rather vocal tonight, a cacophony of moans, whines and shivering whimpers all music to Ailmer's ears as he panted and thrust in. His cock slammed quickly into the dragon on the bed, rocking it underneath him as he drilled into that hot dragon ass.

"Ail, I'm gonna-" was all the drake suddenly managed to get out before he cut himself off with a deep moan.

Ailmer returned with a horny gasp as the dragon's tailvent clenched down spastically around his throbbing dick, still bucking in as hard and as fast as he could into the dragon's hot ass while Beroan's cock flexed in his hand. The beefy dragon dick suddenly spurted out a huge orgasm over the dragon, milked out by Ailmer's powerful thrusts, hot, white dragon spooge splashing all the way to Beroan's neck. Seed dripped off the drake's chest, quickly replaced by the next shot from his flexing cock as the dragon's whole body shuddered as Ailmer just kept humping.

There was no was that Ailmer could keep himself held back for very long, especially as the whole length of the dragon's tunnel clenched down around his cock with each spurt of cum over the male's front. Ailmer gasped, letting out a shuddering huff as he hilted one last time, grinding his balls against the drake's ass, as he finally began to spurt out a large, pent up load deep inside the drake.

Beroan let out a deep, eager moan as he felt Ailmer's warmth blossom inside of him. He squirmed, biting his lip as he took the human's load, his orgasm slowly tapering off just as the human's began to pour hot cum deep into his post-orgasm, oversensitive tailvent. Beroan couldn't help but shudder and whine, grinding himself back against the hilted human, panting in time with Ailmer as the pair rode out that orgasm.

Finally, Ailmer's climax tapered off, leaving the pair panting, Ailmer giving a grind and a shiver as he worked himself in Beroan's cum-slick ass. They both took their time to relax, coupled together. Ailmer huffed softly, leaning forward against the dragon's belly, the dragon's sticky cum rubbing off against his front and his beefy, warm cock throbbing softly against the human's belly as Ailmer stayed hilted in Beroan's vent. Beroan let out a soft sigh of pleasure, wrapping his limbs warmly around the human as he snuggled in, rolling back to drag the human into bed with him, keeping them coupled as they rested in the afterglow.

Ailmer was nearly asleep already. Exhaustion, from the long day, the powerful romp with the dragon, and the alcohol taking its toll on him. He pressed himself in against the warm, softer bellyscales of the dragon in bed with him, his eyelids drifting down. "Mnh... That was lovely, Marlin."

Beroan blinked, curiously raising an eyeridge to look down at the Human. "Marlin?"

Ailmer blinked a few times, looking back up at Beroan's green scaled muzzle, the blue that he had been seeing melting back into Beroan's true green color. His jaw dropped as he realized his mistake.... Crushing sadness hit him, the human gasping as he buried his head in Beroan's neck, sobbing.
