Chapter 1 New Agent

The sky was clear, Stars shined bright over desert sands, military buses traveled through the sands with humvees and cars all traveling in a convoy in a line. The buses stopped at a gate where a man dressed in a black uniform with a mask that had a green dragon mouth printed on the face of the mask. The doors opened revealing teenagers of both human and Anthro ranging from the ages of 15 to 18, nervous faces could be seen all around, soldiers surrounded the group in a non hostile manner. The uniformed man stepped forward with a clipboard in hand, his eyes were black and serious they were diluted with no shine from light that reflected onto him, he stopped in front of the teens that stood before him.

“Welcome to Aegis Zeus Task Force, you have all chosen a life to remember only, you are reborn here, you have a choice leave your old life behind no parents no friends no life before joining us only the brothers and sisters you stand next to or you can keep your memories and be a solo operative because there is no room for your passed or emotions, so it's your choice make up your mind now, those who want to leave everything behind get back on the bus, those who want to keep their memories stay here."

The teenagers looked at each other scared some gulped during the black figured speech, a young hooded human male teenager sighed and climbed on to the bus, everyone looked up to the sounds of steps climbing onto the bus, the figure chuckled and looked to the teen.

“There's no turning back son of Wolf." the figure said slyly

“Trust me i want to forget that man, i want to forget my life now let's get going"

The figure chuckled and spoke “anyone else", seven others also walked onto the bus all of them Anthro except for the human male who sat at the back of the bus looking down hunched over leaving on his forearms. The figure looked at the chunk that remained kinda dissapointed.

“For those who want to keep their memories start walking to the base those who want to forget everything may leave on the bus."

The bus engine roared to life and started rolling through the gates, the buses lights were off no light could be seen outside or the inside of the bus just the dashboard of the driver seat. Hours passed the human male sighed and looked up to see a glowing mixture of blue and green eyes stare at him, his hood covered his eyes and noticed it was a female dragon looking curiously at him, he could the see the outline of her body as she stood up in the moving bus and sat in a chair in front of him.

“Yes?" the silence was finally broken during the trip, the others looked back to see if the dragon would respond.

“Son of Wolf was he referring to Mishal Wolften?" The dragon spoke looking worriedly having a swedish accent. The human looked up and noticed the driver and others all staring back towards him.

“I am Shade Wolften and i want to forget who I am,I dont want to be known as a spoiled child of my family". The bus went quiet after those words were spoken, the blue dragon looked at him curiously and sat looking forward to the road as the driver smiled.

As time continued the all too familiar silence filled the bus, not even the engine could be heard save for a low humming noise and the sound of a dirt road underneath the tires. The silence persisted for what felt like hours dragging on the passengers in a somewhat hypnotic state, only for their trance to be broken in a speechless panic at reaction to a rapidly repeating indescribable sound in which only proceeded to get louder and more deafening. Unable to understand this complex situation the passengers now in a confused daze try to cover their eyes at the now blinding white light shining through the windows the driver seeming unaffected as all go into a hypersensitive state. The now black silhouette of people in their seats seeming to stretch and warp about until blackness is all that can be seen and a sudden silence is made apparent.

The passengers open their eyes in the now empty bus now sore as if they had been hunched over asleep for hours only to hear the faint sounds outside the bus no longer the familiar gravel like road but of clacking footsteps of heavy boots, the whirring of machinery, voices of the surrounding occupants and the muffled sounds of a woman's voice over a loudspeaker.

The doors of the bus opened but no one entered sparking the curiosity of the passengers as the opened door called for them to come out in which as if scripted was exactly what had happened. The passengers of all kinds exited the bus only to be met with the steeled glare of man in a black uniform one of high rank as could be scene by his arm patch and emblem on his left peck. The man in black did not speak yet allowing the passengers of the bus to take in all before them seeing that they were in an unbelievably large what seemed to be arrival area for new recruits. The area so clean that even the pungent smell of diesel and axle grease from the lined up busses were overpowered by the scent of disinfectant and other cleaning products. This time to take in all that was around the recruits however was short lived as their attention was brought back to the man in black who proceeded to speak in a low toned voice of absolute authority.

“Welcome to your new home, you will eat, sleep, train in blood sweat and tears here. You are still kids, here but you have taken it upon yourselves to fight for a cause you don't even know what it even is." The young soon to be soldiers stood in silence and looked towards the man, it was human man in his mid forties, his voice was rusted but still had the voice of authority.

6 months later February 18th 0400 hours

Shade shot up in bed feeling shocked and breathing heavily, the room was dark and had a wet cold feeling that covered the floor, he laid backed down but he noticed a few glowing eyes from where other soldiers slept, their eyes were fixated on him like they were worried, the most noticeable one was a fox starring at him on a bed next to him.

An unbreakable silence could be heard as the fox and human locked eyes neither blinking both inspecting each other to see who would break the silence first. The fox blinked her cybernetic eyes readjusting themselves as the tormenting quietness was finally broken with a calm and friendly tone. “You alright their bub?" Shade blinked confused still in a daze but in response said “Did you just call me bub?". The fox chuckled and got more comfortable next to the bed her hand resting on her cheek as she grinned “yup I didn't really pay attention to anyone's introductions when we first got here so i thought you looked like a bub". Shade laid there not sure how to react to this but proceeded to go along with it not sure if the fox was naive or just an odd one. “Well i would appreciate if you didn't call me bub, my name is Shade and you are?". The fox raised an eyebrow chuckling a little bit. “My name is Ashire or for short just call me Ash it's simpler but nah I think i'll keep calling you bub". Shade's eye twitched a little feeling slightly annoyed at the name bub but his thoughts were broken as everyone's attention was brought to the door open and a young but experienced looking man walked in wearing a grey uniform. His name could be seen on the small polished metal name tag that appeared to say sgt.walker but everyone's attention was fixed on his face as he looked around the room seeing the soldier's still in bed his gaze chilling as if he was staring right into their very souls only to open his mouth as if he was going to shout at the top of his lungs in a fit of rage.

“Alright wake up get your asses in gear!, it's your assigning day, you will be teamed up in your teams or if we see fit you will be a solo agent, alright get your uniforms and report to hangar five! You have ten minutes to get ready" Shade stared at the sgt as he stormed in and made his speech, he looked at Ashire and smiled pulling off his blanket and hopped out of bed running towards the locker room, others looked to see the commotion and tilted their heads, the sgt looked at the rest “well what are you waiting for the hangar takes twenty minutes to walk there". Everyone scrambled to their feet moving towards the locker. Ashire reached the locker room to see Shade and the others naked in the showers, she stopped looking at the others and focused on Shade, his hair was spiked like zacks from final fantasy after actually noticing him in the light, she explored more of his body without anyone noticing, she looked closely to a tattoo on his back that had a tribal wolf howling against a moon with arabic letters underneath. Ashire trance soon was broken by a half naked blue and black dragon tapping her on the shoulder.

“Hey staring is rude, get showered and get dressed we don't have much time left". The dragon saying worriedly as Shade quickly was dressed in urban overalls with a holstered belt around his waist already running out of the locker room to the main door.

Ten minutes passed the soldier's were finally lined up shoulder to shoulder in the hangar all were clad in the same uniform of urban overalls and a holstered belt. Sgt. Walker stood in front of all the soldiers as two workers came in with two large crates setting them down next to Sgt. Walker." These! Are your weapons and uniforms and will be the only ones that you all get for your entire career here unless otherwise specified, you will learn to love your weapons, you will learn that your weapon is your friend and you will understand right now there are no take backs!. Now I will assign you all your roles and the weapons you will be getting". 20 minutes passed and the row of soldiers were assigned their weapons and roles, Shade inspected his assigned M4 admiring the attachments feeling the hand grip and ran his fingers along the silencer only to break his trance to look over at the other soldier's. As Shade inspected the other soldiers with their assorted load outs of assault rifles, shot guns and heavy machine guns he noticed the last person at the end of the line. Shade inspected the person noticing that it was Ashire fiddling with her helmet trying to clean the visor as he noticed she was the only one with a sniper rifle, Shade getting a little nervous as he realized it was a CheyTac M200. The soldier's attention were brought back to Sgt. Walker as he spoke in his ever booming voice which could make even a most steeled man shake."Alright you have your weapons and your orders now get in the fucking transport and your god damned mission!". Following his orders the soldiers hurried into the osprey not knowing what to expect.

The ride was long and twenty soldiers sat in their seats all talking to each other while shade sat at the end of the osprey, he looked over his orders over and over again blinking at his specific orders 'eliminate the leader of Sentoki Tanner Ironblade' he knew sentoki wasn't supposed to be trifled with because of their elite teams and vehicles but this was a opened war against sentoki, someone hired armed guns from Aegis task force so they asked for twenty agents to help. Ashire had her rifle slung over her back and walked slowly in the moving osprey towards shade who was stuck looking at his mission pad.

“Hey… you alright bub?" Ashire saying kneeling in front of him and clicking her fingers in his face trying to break his gaze with his pad.

“Ashire… yeah sorry just my mission is bit challenging in my head and it's gonna take a while to advance that far into a battlefield I have to kill their leader that's there… and i might need your help what's yours?" Shade said putting his pad in pocket and loaded his m4 and aimed it towards the ground checking if the sight is to his standards. “Well I'm part of your squad, assigned as sniper remember weren't you listening to the team formings me, you and two others but they are from a different group entirely i know one of them is russian from a different aegis division and i think we have a french girl from the foreign legion" Shade looked up and sighed and stood up infront as the osprey shook with flak fire disrupting the path of osprey making it drop down lower to a point it could land, Shade fell over onto Ashire his gun flying against the wall of the osprey, he held himself up above her with his hands locking gazes.

As the osprey continued to shake about the occupants tried to steady themselves as Shade and Ashire locked eyes only for Ashire to chuckle with a smirk." Hey now if you want to go that far offer dinner first". Shade blushed as he stumbled back up picking his gun back up turning back to Ashire. “S..sorry didn't meant to do that". Chuckles could be heard in the osprey and one of the soldier's shouted out at the human and fox."Get a room you two!'. Without warning the ospreys alarm filled the area as the back ramp began to open, every one suddenly shot up getting into position all moving into their squads before the ramp opened fully. As the thud of the ramp was heard the dust of the ground being kicked up by the powerful blades of the osprey instantly signaled for the soldiers to run head first into the fray. The first two squads laying down cover fire as the last three tactically spread out proceeding with their given missions Shade and Ashire moved back and took cover in a damaged building in which plenty of gun holes could be seen but was far enough from the fight that it could give momentary relief. Shade looked around making sure there were no compromising areas of the building as Ashire moved into the building they both took a knee as Shade then pulled out his pad which proceeded to play a video which presented Sgt. Walker."Alright omega squad your mission is to eliminate Sentoki Tanner Ironblade, Shade you have been paired up with a squad mate which best suit this situation it would be best to get to know each other in order to work as a more efficient team as it is most likely you two will be working as a team more often than most. You will be working with Ashire Wintercove who is most likely the best sniper you could ask for within our Aegis division. Ashire will be supporting you so you will be the leader of this operation so be sure to work together on this one. Good luck omega team Walker out". As the video turned off Shade put the pad back in his pocket and then looked up at Ashire." you ready?". Ashire chuckled “ready when you are bub". Shade rolled his eyes still slightly annoyed at this new nickname he was given but didn't let it get to him as the two began to move out.

Shade and Ashire soon made it towards a forward operating base german soldiers occupied the area, a commander whistled getting the attention of Shade and Ashire who began running through exploded craters and dead bodies. Tanks and machine guns littered the air not giving much way for voices to be heard, Ashire and shade finally made it to the commanding officer who brought them into a underground bunker area where soldiers loaded gear and were preparing for an assault. Shade offered his hand towards the officer, he accepted and offered his hand towards ashire who greeted in german. “I'm lieutenant Adelbert Hecker of the third Angriffshunde division have you already been briefed on the task?" Ashire's ears perked as she the words Angriffshunde “Yes we have been briefed on our task, I'm…" Shade looked to Ashire to see if he really is a captain, she nodded as she thought what he was going through “Captain Shade of Omega squad and this is my sniper Ashire, we will complete our task as requested until we are dead" The lieutenant looked to Ashire and smiled

“Your ears vixen they perked at the words Angriffshunde" Ashire nodded and smiled.

“The word means Attackhounds i used to know some who was part of them" The lieutentant smiled and turned towards his men giving intel on what's about to happen. Shade looked at Ashire curiously and pulled out his pistol and checked the mag and placed it back in “at the age of eighteen from this day i've learned italian, french, indonesian, swedish and i don't remember any of it, and kinda wasn't expecting you to know german what's the story" Ashire stood blankly and stared at Shade only realising she was older “well that was unexpected and I studied german in germany because when i hit the age of eighteen i wanted to join but never got accepted after a stupid thing happened" she said smiling nervously.

Shade noticed Ashire getting nervous around the subject so he didn't pry into it and instead changed the subject pulling out his gun."Alright it's time to start the operation I need you to find a good vantage point while I help the Angriffshunde division in the assault on the main compound, I need you to be the eyes at the back of my head". Ashire nodded and patted her gun."Alright bub i'll be sure my little friend here gives quite the performance". Ashire chuckled and sprinted out of the bunker leaving Shade with the Angriffshunde soldier's turning towards them and nods to the commander beginning the assault. The group moved out with Shade following his heart pounding and his breath calm but heavy as they pulled up behind a wall. Two soldier's proceeded to throw a smoke grenade into the main area with a flash grenade following suit leaving the enemy soldier's dazed and blinded coughing as the smoke filled their lungs creating the perfect opening as the Angriffshunde and Shade burst through eliminating any current threats. Cautiously the group moved into the main building two Angriffshunde soldier's keeping watch outside. One by one each room was cleared in an almost scripted fashion as if it was beautifully choreographed and practiced a thousand times over. As the group reached the final room upstairs Shade began to sweat heavily he knew what was to come next he would have to kill the leader of Sentoki but did not know what to expect. His breathing became deeper more heavier as time seemed to slow down as he heard the slow booming of the soldier's foot steps as they set up right next to the door ready to breach it. Shades senses came back to him quickly as he steeled himself taking a deep breath as he stayed down on the stairs peeking over the opening ready to storm in guns blazing. The soldier's began to charge ready to break down the door only to hear a loud clack as a rain of bullets bursts through the door shredding the soldiers in half leaving the new corpses in a bloody mangled wreck on the floor as shade ducked back down in time as Tanner stood there laughing holding his prized M2 browning in his hands as he then speaks in german. “come out come out wherever you are little mouse let me add you to my tally, oh wait do i smell aegis hehe…". Shade breathed for air tightly feeling pain his chest he looked down to see a piece of shrapnel sticking from his chest he looked around him and looked towards the door to see the officer crawling on his arms and soon was shot in the head by a heavy pistol that echoed throughout the building. “*Black op teams meet me at the roof I'm coming up it's time we abandon germany and return to hq in sector 19, and tell Eatable we have Aegis Agents herem, Tanner out* Jeez asking help from a foreign company to help cheap guns or underestimated us we'll see soon." Shade sit still slowing down his breathing as Tanner walked away, and soon passing out of pain. Clunking boots echoed through out his mind he opened his eyes to see Ashire running towards him dropping her gun on the ground slid towards him holding him by his chest and shouted at other Aegis members. “Shade!... Stay with me… you're gonna fine it's just a scratch, get me damn medic and get to the roof and kill their commander!" Shade looked up to everything slowing down as a needle was soon injected into him, he noticed the blue and black dragon from before evilly smiling at him as she ran by, the face was carved into his head as it frightened him. He lifted his hand to his head, flashing images shot through his mind, Aegis soldiers being shot by a blue female dragon standing next to a fully covered soldier wearing a black mask and guy wearing a t-shirt and military pants holding a m2 browning on his shoulder.

The flashing images stopped but a piercing ringing sound shot into Shades ears the pain becoming too much for him as he finally passed out the ringing gone as the calming allure of darkness consumes him until he goes into a deep sleep.
