City Life: A Conjurer and Her Kitten
An idea I had for a series. A series following the supernatural in the city. I love Urban Fantasy, and so I wanted to try my hand at writing it. I'm gaining confidence. Perhaps soon I'll actually start continuing series.
Clamoring crowds of both young and old stood at a park watching a short girl in a black dress only long enough to cover up the most important pieces, a black steeple witch's hat upon the ground before her. Both of her hands were busy clapping as people threw money at her before suddenly she spoke out loud, "Get it in the hat folks! In the hat and I'll show you some real magic, ahaha if you can even call it that. From the hat you'll see something splendid, something amazing and if the hat gets full enough I'll show you something even better than that!" The girl spoke with the confidence that came from having performed on stage numerous times, the people were already whistling and stamping their feet waiting for the result as if they knew she was genuine in her promise. Now that all the money had been stuffed into the hat the girl brought it up and put her hand in it. Turning it over she showed that the money was gone and the people whistled more. Turning it again and putting her hand in the hat itself before suddenly falling back with a fat smile upon her face as a flock of crows and doves flew free from the hat chirping and cooing wildly much to the excitement of the crowd, and since she had received more than what she needed she brought herself back up and picked up the hat waving it at the crowd before suddenly a ball of fire popped up into the air and split, sparks of light flying everywhere. Gasping she laughed and winked at the crowd, "Now now....don't tell the police about that one...they might take away my license hah!" Laughing and clapping the crowd began to disperse. The show was over and the sun was going down. Now only the girl was left there gathering her things and any loose change that she might have missed. A hulking figure from the dark of the trees appeared and approached the girl, claws and fangs bared.
Rolling her eyes with hat in hand Stella turned around to see the hulking form of a werewolf. A grey furred mutt that she remembered quite well. It seemed as though he had been pumping iron to impress, well, to impress anyone stupid enough to fall for it. What he wanted she had no clue, and at this point she barely cared. She was already finished with work and tired as it was. She didn't need some idiot mouthing off to her, "What is it Lo'. I don't have time for this. Gotta get my payment ready for the boss and divide it up so I can pay rent and more."
Logan snorted and crossed his arms, mouth twitching revealing fangs, "You know the park belongs to the Wyld. Fork our cut over bitch, or, we could make some arrangement with your body instead."
Stella stuck her tongue out and began rummaging through her hat, "Right, fine fine. Jesus. You guys and your gangs...figured the gopher's still had this place under control, but hey, I'm just a lil' conjurer, nothing more nothing less, and no. You're not my type big guy" she knew he was bluffing. The only scary wolves were the outsiders from the forest, and those guys didn't mingle with most of the city kind, that isn't to say that none of the city wolves were amiable, just that the majority were like Logan here. Still, she had her ways to deal with his kind.
As the wolf snorted and beamed his eyes shutting for a second she brought out a handgun and fired off into the werewolf's kneecaps, one special bullet for each. Gunfire was a common thing in the city so she wasn't afraid to fire off, that and the police never investigated at night, too many mutilations and other weird things happening due to the supernatural that most denied the existence of. As the werewolf crumpled and snarled attempting to claw out to her she brought the gun to his snout and he quickly halted his movements, his ears drawing back like the submissive pup he was; she only had to bite his ear, "All right...listen. Your gang, not a fucking problem to me. Definitely not a problem to the real bosses. You'll heal that in a bit, but you can't fucking heal a bullet through the brains, not these bullets at least. Feel that huh? Good shit right?...now fuck off."
Before the wolf could reply the ground split nearby and from it her boss showed up. Gophers. Gophers were a gang of underground walking talking otters that pretty much had control over the entire city's fate. Their gang name was stupid enough, but that was only because they had a sense of humor, fuck who could blame them for enjoying a good laugh. They could mold the ground anyway they wanted to, and if a lot of them got pissed they could sink a good portion of the city, so they were the bosses. Not only that, but they never revealed what the hell species they really were, never. When asked, they only replied with half-truths. For the most part, calling them a gopher or otter worked out just fine. This gopher in particular wearing a black blazer and nothing else went by the name of Zen. He earned that name by being perhaps one of the calmest of their kind; but he was also strict and a frightening assassin she had seen in action maybe once or twice. Stella smiled upon seeing him and put her gun away knowing she needed it no longer, without a word she brought forth a manila envelope fat with cash as the otter like creature approached, "...Stella...keep it, you paid extra last month with that favor...boys are still askin for ya down at the club again, y'comin tonight?"
Putting away the envelope she leaned down to hug Zen. The little mobster was always looking out for her even though he claimed it was all purely business. As for the underground and its big club, she would have to skip, despite loving the place and Zen's kind. Even though they were small they certainly packed a lot of heat, and weren't prone to talking big without putting out. Pulling away she placed a glowing vial in his paw to at least give him a little something to enjoy the night with, "Moonlight. Sends people to space and back with a high like that. Thanks for the lookout and sorry. Boyfriend's been feelin kind of down lately so I'm comin home early." She knew he wouldn't be mad. Not only was he a pretty calm creature, but he was surprisingly respectful despite her various professions including selling her body at times if it meant a little extra fun and money.
Zen nodded calmly and approached the werewolf attempting to pick himself up while placing the vial in a pocket underneath his blazer. With his tiny paw he grabbed on to the wolf's head and sunk those claws in firmly and pulled the werewolf up entirely on his own, "and this?" he said referring to the werewolf whimpering and snarling.
Stella sighed, "Said this was his territory now and I taught him a lesson, I know non-violence is a thing, but he threatened me." She of course put on her best little pout and sad face. It was all an act and she knew that Zen wouldn't fall for it, but it was more for comedic effect than anything else.
Zen flashed a toothy grin. That was what made them different from cute critters. Those damn shark like fangs that could cut through pretty much anything, that and the immense earth magic they held sway over, "Serious? Wyld's getting crazy?" he then let go of the werewolf allowing Logan to back away and lick his wounds, "No trouble then, but if this happens again I don't want you making a mess. Stella you're too noisy." Even though he was warning her his grin was still there and she could tell he was suppressing laughter.
For the most part, a werewolf or any kin creature for that matter to be dominated by a human without so much as a scratch on them was pretty embarrassing, especially since kin were so high and mighty about their evolutionary status. With a small smile she winked and replied, "I'll be real careful...seriously, you don't have to worry. Besides. If I really want trouble I'll tell my boy Roger. He's the one that makes too much noise even though he's such a schoolboy."
Zen waved her off and his grin faded as he looked back at Logan who immediately slinked away, "That'll be all. Payments going to actually be due next time, I'll see about discounts."
Stella nodded and blew a kiss before hopping off. Really she'd like to be headed off with the earth otter to the underground. The club was fucking unreal, and she loved the action there, at the same time her boyfriend was stressing out and she needed to take care of her kitten. With a sigh she put the hat on and began her way home. Next time she'd pick less revealing clothing, night time this season was way too fucking cold.
The City at night was the perfect time for all the little ghouls and goblins to come out. Typically nothing ever happened since Zen and his kind kept things usually peaceful, but the occasional craziness happened that they couldn't really control, nothing too terrible. A kidnapping, a rape, a whole apartment complex burnt to the ground; nothing compared to how it used to be before the big gangs showed up. Humans in particular were the craziest, believe it or not. Supernatural humans tended to be instable, or just annoying. Then there were more high and mighty associations made up of human magicians and the like, but she never paid them any mind, because typically they were too up their own asses to actually make a difference, not that they weren't powerful though. It was always unnerving though, being alone at night when she knew so much was happening just beneath the surface, when she knew that in those alleyways nightmares were happening that no normal man could think about, but then she remembered that her home was just a few blocks away from the park and again she didn't give a damn. Plus, if anything really bad happened she could handle herself, what was the use of magic if she couldn't use it to better her life, or protect it for that matter.
Their apartment, like the complex itself, wasn't anything special, but it was good for an unemployed panther man and a con-artist conjurer. Knocking on the door as a joke she opened it slowly and spoke in a near sing song, "How's my kitty doing?" From where she stood she could see Roger sitting on the couch typing away. For some stupid reason he always kept his glamour up even at home during night. She much preferred to see him in his full feral form rather than the frump of a human form he chose. Still, seeing him so hard at work with his little classes made her smile. He was studying to become a doctor, to actually be something in this stupid city so they could live a better life, or leave even. Honestly she thought the idea was crazy at first, until she saw how much progress he was making, so like any good girl she buckled down on getting more money and supported him as she could. Shutting the door she finally heard a response from him, "I heard gunshots Stel...What happened?"
Stella bit at her lip before moving to the kitchen to get a drink while speaking quickly, "Oh nothing. Just a Wyld boy giving me some lip. Zen's making sure it doesn't happen again." Shit, she couldn't lie, not even to his back. Typically it wasn't a problem. She could lie to any man, but her boyfriend was another story. Perhaps it was her version of true love that drove her to honesty?
She could hear Roger let out a deep breath from the room. For a kin creature he had all the calm in the world, and she gave him the utmost respect for that, it was one of the reasons why she decided to go steady with him, "Roger please. Things like this always happen. They take care of themselves."
Even though she knew that answer wasn't good enough he didn't say a word. Drink in hand she moved over to the couch again, leaning over to see what he was doing. Apartment searching? Just as she saw it he closed the labtop slowly and explained immediately, "...Figured we could find a better place. Maybe even out of town...I could even find a different school to study at."
With a small smile she gave his cheek a soft peck, "Roger...I'm happy here. I'm scum, I love scumming it up...you know I prostitute, gamble and more and yet you treat me like a damn princess."
Roger smiled just a bit and brought a hand to her cheek, "You're my scum princess...and I know where your heart is at...besides, no one can work you like I can Stella."
Giggling she gave his cheek a pinch, "You are too adorable! Just...let's do this together all right? Don't surprise me, show me these places you wanna move...I'll do anything for you Roger."
Roger pulled his cheek away and snorted, "...All right Stella...I trust you."
Trust. That was a thing that was hard to come by. Zen, Roger, and maybe two other people she had ever trusted in this damn city. Maybe it was true that they needed to move, that they needed to find some place better to actually make a life. Hell, she was pretty sure a demon and an angel were fucking next door. She could even have a family if she wanted to. Still, life as a con artist was fun, and the demon made some amazing brownies. It was full of thrills that could never be described, and what he wanted, what roger wanted was the life of a human that didn't know about the underground. Peace versus fun, always a tough choice.
Staring at Roger's human version of himself she frowned and reached over to push at his face, "C'mon....off with the glamour." for some reason, unlike other beast-kin, he was ashamed of what he was. He was a frightened kitten that hated to be seen as what he really was, a beast, but she loved him the most when he was in his true form.
Roger could only smile just a bit and sigh. It was a sad smile, but only for just a moment. Getting off the couch he set the laptop on one of the cushion and got out of his clothes. Best not to rip them when transforming. With a sigh Roger removed the necklace that controlled the spell and there he began to transform.
Stella grinned as she watched. She loved this part, she always did. The human form that he had taken began shattering, began breaking and in its place a powerful and slender beast man appeared. A black furred creature with plenty of muscle and yellow eyes. When the transformation was finished he sighed and sat back down on the couch. Before he could pull the laptop back on his lap she hopped in it, her arms wrapping around his neck, and though he was frowning and pouting, she could hear very clearly his purring. Her hands moved through the fur on his head, fingers scratching behind his ears, her nose pressing against his as she spoke, "You know I like you just as you are...you're a beast a crazy supernatural creature...and I wouldn't have it any other way kitty. So please...glamour off at night."
She could see the gears turning in his head, of how he could get out of this, but she stared him down and his ears twitched. Finally he sighed and gave her lips a soft peck, a gentle rumbling coming from his chest, "Fine...I can't deny you that. Even though I don't know why."
Stella gave one of his ears a pinch and teased, "The barbed dick is a plus for one" when she heard the purr turn to a growl she giggled and continued on, "This is who you really are...and I like it like that. Normal? The fuck is that? I can pull and send nearly anything from anywhere including fire and other weird shit if I wanted to. I know you want a normal life kitty, but even if we lived that normal life, we'd still be like this."
Roger settled down at those words. Resting her head against his chest she smiled just a bit. It was tough getting him to calm down, tough trying to make him see that their life wasn't that bad, because she knew he did it all for her, and hell if that didn't make Stella feel special. Before he could say another word her hand trailed down his chest and to his crotch where she gripped on to something that was surprisingly already hard. Looking up at him she could see that he was looking right back at her. Their eyes locked for a moment, a strong hand moving through her black hair before their lips connected slowly. She gripped on to his cock, feeling over the firm and barbed member gently, thumb circling against it as she began stroking. She loved him, loved every piece and facet of his personality and body. Stella prove time and time again that she didn't care if he was beast-kin and prove that she didn't care if he didn't tell her why he was so scared of himself. She only wanted to love him, to be with him. As she pulled away, his tongue flicked out against her lips causing her to smile just a bit. She could feel those strong hands of his growing impatient, moving down her back, gripping at her rear, tugging and lifting up that dress. Roger's eyes then widened a bit when he realized, "You're not wearing underwear..."
Stella stuck her tongue out, "Makes entertaining people a lot easier, and conning them." Before he could complain her lips locked with his again. She knew it wasn't over by the way his claws dug into her skin just a bit, but for now she had won. Smiling against his lips she kept stroking at his cock, moving faster as she did so, pulling, tugging at it, loving the way it was already fully erect from just a little rubbing. Suddenly she was on her back and staring at the ceiling, her eyes wide and her lover over her now. Typically he was never rough with her. Roger only ever let her do the moving during sex, probably because he was scared, but right now he was staring down at her, his firm cock twitching and pulsing against her crotch. With a small smile she let go of his member and laid back resting there, waiting to see his next move.
His strong hands gripped at her hips, slowly sliding that dress up further to give him room to work with. Moving one hand he gripped on to his cock to push and prod it against her entrance, teasing her and working himself up. He began to growl just a bit, snarl even as he worked himself up. Biting at her lips she could see that he was about to give into his instincts, about to go wild on her pussy. Gasping and groaning out she felt him thrust deep inside of her with little remorse. He growled as he thrust inside of her, grunted as he pushed in deep causing her body to shiver and shake. Her hands moved to grip at his shoulders, her lips opening to moan out and beg, "More!" and more he gave her. Roger thrust and pushed to her again and again his mouth moving over her neck, his rough tongue licking from her neck down to her chest. The dress was in the way and so with a hiss he cut it away with his fangs, breaking the straps and tugging material away to reveal her chest. Stella could only gasp as he went wild on her, groaning as he suckled on each of her nipples that tongue working each breast firmly as he thrust to her wildly. She was on protection, she could handle his seed and he knew it too, but he never came inside of her, always pulled out too scared to go all the way. Tonight had already been one filled with little surprises from his sexual activity and so she wrapped her legs around him breathing out, "Leave it in kitty...c'mon, give it all to me"
Even if he wasn't close, she needed to let him know she wanted it, fucking needed to let him know that she was enjoying every little second of his assault on her insides. It worked. She could feel his thrusting growing more rapid, harder, and his cock throbbing inside of her. She could feel that thick thing twitching inside of her, the warm pre dripping inside of her. Stella knew he was close, but he was holding back still, grunting, growling, pounding her pussy so well. Closing her eyes she breathed out, panting, her own pussy clenching on his cock as she felt so close from his crazy thrusting. She loved every little aspect of it. Especially the barbs, the barbs that scraped against her insides so well. Those barbs that had her close to the edge. With a squeal her hot insides clamped tight on his cock, her arms and legs tightening around him as she felt her orgasm rock her very core. Collapsing back on the couch she panted, expecting him to pause, but instead he only kept thrusting, pounding her sensitive pussy again and again until she felt that hot rod spurt out that thick warm seed she had been desiring for so long. Her body shook, her back arched and she felt electric pleasure shake her insides. Finally she was allowed to rest, and immediately she saw that Roger was over her, checking her and all she could do was giggle, "Roger...I'm fine. Claw marks can be covered...I love to be roughed up y'know that."
Roger breathed out and pulled out slowly, his hand moving to brush over her cheeks, "I...I know I just don't want you hurt."
Stella stuck her tongue out, "I'm not a flower. Now come on...cuddle with me." She opened her arms begging for that connection and without a moment to spare he wrapped his arms around her and tugged her against his body, her head against his chest, her lips curled into a smile. Her favorite part of his form, was that he was so damn soft and fluffy. Perfect for fucking, perfect for cuddling. Their life was dangerous, the city was fucking crazy, and maybe her career choice could use some change, but Roger was her light. Roger kept her happy and at ease and so wherever he went she would follow. Even now though, she was as happy as could be in the city.
