Chapter 18: Playful Partners

By Draconicon

They’d spent the day out and about, and it felt only right to get some rest after he had not only fucked Croccy – something that he could still hardly believe he’d done – but also been teased and examined by a new Pokémon. Bright Eyes the Abra was going to be a handful, and he needed some time to come to terms with that.

The rest of the day passed in a sleepy blur, followed by a deep dream. He woke with memories of a voice, someone talking to him, and he groaned under his breath as he lifted his head from the pillow.

Lovely…there’s still someone out there…

He remembered the dreams of the facility, and he remembered the voice from that, too. It might not have stuck with him this time, but there had to be something in the facility under Azalea Town for it to be messing with his head like this. Jared rolled to the side, pulling his legs out of bed and resting his head on one hand.

“What the hell am I going to do?” he muttered.

The facility was under lockdown with the police down there, that much was sure, and for all that they were useless at chasing down thieves, they seemed to be more than willing to take this seriously with Team Rocket involved. The fact that all they had to do was maintain a cordon around it would make that more likely to succeed, as well. However, getting in was going to be a problem, considering the sheer lack of strength that most of the Pokémon that they had actually, well, had.

And that means that we’re going to have to find something…

Jared rubbed his forehead. He had never meant to get into Pokémon training like this, but here he was. He’d just have to make the best of it.

At least the group has been good so far…

He smiled. Despite everything, despite being so confused about his own leanings, he was glad that he had managed to make a friend of Croccy…and something of a lover, too. The rest of the team only made that better, from Snugs to Lurch to Shimmer, and…

Well, he didn’t know what would happen with Bright Eyes and Gobbler – the Drowzee had gotten a name just before he’d gone to sleep – but he knew that they were going to be part of the team, too. Just…whether they went further would be up for debate.

Speaking of which…

He reached for Croccy’s pokéball, dragging it from his belt and tossing it to the floor. It bounced, and so did the white light that leaped from it, taking the shape of the hyperactive Water Pokémon.

“Sleep well?” he asked as Croccy bounced up and down.

“Yeah-yeah-yeah. Feel good, feel really good.”

“From, uh, last night?” he asked with a bit of a blush.

“Yeah-yeah. Gonna do that again?”

“…I think so.”

“Now?”

“Uh, um, no. Not now.” No matter how much his morning wood had jumped at the idea, not now. “We’ve got a busy day ahead, remember?”

“…No?”

The fake-innocent look on the little guy’s face was nearly enough to set Jared to giggling. As it was, he couldn’t stop himself from smiling. Shaking his head, he got to his feet, pulling on his socks, shoes, and jacket.

“Come on. Let’s check out the underground a bit more. Make sure that the Rockets aren’t going to be pulling anything…”

“Okay. Just you and me?”

“All the others, too.”

“But just you and me…outside?”

“Oh. Yeah. Sure.”

“And maybe…”

Croccy turned, swishing his butt back and forth. His tail was raised, and he was just barely showing a bit of his, well, bits. Jared blushed and looked up and away, groaning under his breath.

“Maybe!”

#

Despite their best efforts, they didn’t turn up any leads in the Underground. The shops that they’d visited the day before were closed, sealed off, and he imagined that they were only open at random intervals as far as the general public was concerned. If you weren’t a local, or connected to them, then he imagined that it was all but impossible to find a chance to visit them.

That said, there were other shops open. Cafes, for example, and some random item shops. Nothing worth visiting, as far as he was concerned, particularly with their limited funds.

No Rockets, either, which was a little concerning. He had expected their operations to be run from out of the Underground, considering the sort of stuff that they did. Were they just interested in the Radio Tower, then? And if so, why?

Information that we don’t have, information that we’re not likely to get, he thought, shaking his head as he and Croccy climbed the stairs at the far end of the Underground Tunnel. The Water-type huffed and puffed as he climbed, shaking his head, but Jared just rolled his eyes.

“Come on. I know that you’re not that wore out.”

“Come oooon. I’m tired.”

“And if I said that we’d have some…fun…at the top of the stairs?”

He couldn’t help looking around as he said that, wanting to make sure that nobody was around to hear a ‘breeder’ implicating himself, but by the time he turned back, Croccy had run all the way to the top and bent over, showing himself off. Jared’s eyes went wide and he ran up the stairs after his Pokémon, shoving that tail down as fast as he could and whipping his head back and forth to make sure that nobody had seen that.

Nobody had. Croccy still complained, though.

“Come ooooon! You said –”

“I said ‘if I said,’ Croccy. I was making a joke.”

“…Mmmph. Sex is no joke.”

“No, but…come on.”

He pulled the little guy up again, and they hurried out into the streets of Goldenrod City once more. The heavy scent of flowers on the breeze smacked them both in the face, and they mutually rubbed their faces, trying to get the smell out of their noses.

Jared was just trying to figure out what they should try next when his phone started ringing. Croccy grumbled, but he held up one hand, pulling it to his ear.

“Yes?”

“Confirm identity.”

“…Unwilling agent Jared.”

“Identity confirmed. Instructions are ready for you. Do you accept?”

“Do I have a choice?”

“Do you accept?”

“Yes,” he muttered, holding one hand over his face in exasperation.

“Your assignment is to continue your cover as a Pokémon trainer. We are currently chasing down leads for an HM 4, which will boost the strength of your Pokémon to the point where they should be able to break open the facility. Until then, maintain cover.”

“…Least you’re doing something helpful.”

“In addition, higher-ups are instructing you to stop standing out with the shenanigans in the gyms. Go through them as any other trainer would.”

“Arceus…”

“That is all.”

Click.

And with that, he had a roadmap laid out for him. He looked down at the phone, clicked it closed and pocketed it. Croccy looked up at him with his head cocked to the side, a little bit less of a smile on his snout this time.

“Bad?”

“Annoying.”

“No fun times?”

“Not yet…But…” He hefted the bag of coins that he’d picked up from the tunnel the day before. “We might be able to get a new friend.”

#

The Games Corner, as the casino was called, was staffed by fairly normal people. It was nothing like the Rocket Corner in Celadon back in the days, where there were shady folks behind the counter and prizes that made your eyebrows go up as you wondered how any of this could be legal. Instead, there was this feeling of happy times…though the glow of the casino games were almost hypnotic in their own way.

“This has gotta be against some sort of law,” Jared muttered as he sat at one of them.

Chitter-chitter-chitter.

“Can’t understand you when we’re not making eye-contact, Bright Eyes.”

“Drowzee.”

“And we haven’t done anything, Gobbler.”

Croccy giggled from where the Water-type sat beside him. The two Psychics were on the ground, waiting for him to press the buttons on the slot machines, while Croccy was just out to keep him company in that moment. It was a little more embarrassing than that, though, considering the big-jawed crocodile Pokémon kept reaching out and rubbing his thigh when nobody was looking.

Like right then, for instance. He blushed, shaking his head as he looked around.

“Please stop that…”

“But you like it.”

“We’re in public.”

“That’s why I’m not taking it out. But you still like it.”

Chitter-chitter-chitter.

Oh, shut up, you, he thought.

The annoying thing was, he did like it. The public affection part, at least. There was something nice about being wanted, and he would have enjoyed returning that sort of affection to Croccy, but they were in public and there was a chance for someone to see them. He shook his head, focusing on the slot machine, instead.

They’d spent the last three hours here, slowly moving from one machine to the other. Their winnings had long-since exceeded the space that they had in one bag, and they had taken to using his jacket as a secondary coin-carrying container. Just one more jackpot should do it for what he had in mind.

“And…now,” he muttered, pressing the button on the machine.

Gobbler and Bright Eyes pushed at the machine, and he could feel the energy in the air around him as they worked the mechanical and circuit bits of the machine. They were manipulating it, changing things up, and –

Ding ding ding.

A jackpot. Just as planned.

Croccy hopped down and grabbed one side of his jacket, and Gobbler grabbed the other side. As they collected the coins being dispensed, Bright Eyes floated up, teleporting to the top of the slot machine. He looked up at those glowing purple eyes, and the Abra smiled, extending one leg and resting an ankle on his shoulder.

“Are you feeling good about this, hmm? Cheating the system, stealing from a place like this?” Bright Eyes asked, curling his toes and gripping Jared’s shoulders. “Or do you just like breaking rules in general?”

“…I’m just…doing what I need to.”

“Mmm, I don’t think you need to do anything. I think you like doing stuff like this.”

“If someone’s stupid enough to leave these loopholes, I don’t feel bad about taking advantage.”

Bright Eyes didn’t say anything to that, but the Abra did nudge his cheek with one toe, stroking along it. He blushed, getting to his feet in short order and hurrying away. He grabbed the coin bag, and his Pokémon followed with the jacket full of coins. As he approached the prize desk, the clerk behind it went wide-eyed at the sight of so many coins.

“S-sir, I…I don’t know…”

“I want to exchange these for four prizes, and then cash out,” Jared said.

“We…we don’t usually…cash people out…”

“Oh, I know. But you don’t want me spending all this on your mega-prizes, do you?” he asked, gesturing at the board. “Not exactly easy to find Porygons, is it?”

The clerk winced, wringing his hands together. Jared waited, knowing that the clerk would back down, eventually. The only reason that the gambling dens like this made money was because they had something to pull people in and keep wasting their money buying coins. If it wasn’t for the offer of prizes that they couldn’t get without traveling to the far end of the region, they would never spend that much money in the first place, and the gambling den would dry up in short order.

Not that he had any use for a Porygon at the moment. He would be hard-pressed to use it for much, and they were little more than a vanity Pokémon. But it was the threat that was important: he could take everything that they had in the top-tier of prizes, and leave them with nothing to tempt others, and he’d be no worse off.

Finally, the clerk nodded.

“Fine. What do you want?”

“Three Hyper-Potions.”

“Done.”

“And…a Dratini.”

“…Done.”

The clerk disappeared into the back rooms, doubtlessly hunting down both the items and the paperwork that would clear him of any sort of misdeeds when the upper management found out that he had cashed someone out rather than sending them off with nothing but the coins. Bright Eyes appeared in a flash on the counter, only to almost fall off. He chittered, barely managing to catch himself. Jared cocked his head to the side, remembering something.

“You okay?”

“Of course.”

“Are you sure? Because I remember –”

“I’m fine.”

And that all but sealed it for him. When he’d spotted them in the fields, with the Drowzee chasing after the half-asleep, teleporting Abra, Bright Eyes had been teleporting very erratically. He’d thought it had been a health problem, not anything else, but considering that wonky teleport just then, maybe Bright Eyes had a little more of a problem than the Pokémon Center could fix. He opened his mouth –

“Here you are.”

And the clerk was back. Putting it to the side for the moment, he took the three Hyper-Potions and pocketed them, followed by a significant amount of cash and a pokéball. He smiled as he picked it up…

Only for it to shimmer and disappear. He stared at his empty hands, his mouth agape.

“…What just happened?” he asked.

“Oh, don’t you dare accuse me of cheating you.”

“No, seriously, what just happened?”

“You’re not going to get anything free out of me.”

“What…Happened…To…My…Dratini?” Jared asked.

“…You seriously don’t know? It’s in the computer.”

“What computer?”

“…The computer system in the Pokémon Center? The one that’s in the corner of every single Pokémon Center in the region? The one that keeps all the Pokémon that you catch and where you change out your six for others?”

Still staring blankly for another couple of seconds, Jared gradually packed up the rest of his money. It would be sufficient to build up another store of coins if the clerk was lying to him, and if not, he needed to figure out how this worked again. He felt like it might have been one of those pieces of common knowledge that the higher-ups had expected him to know but had never actually come through.

#

You…are…joking with me…

The computer was right there, alright, and it even recognized him with just his first name. How the hell that worked and kept anything secure, he didn’t know. It felt like Team Rocket could just walk right up to the computer, put in fake credentials, and then start pulling Pokémon from the system one by one.

Then again, considering that there was the whole issue of not being able to carry more than six, perhaps most trainers were safe from that. Most of them didn’t carry more than three, from what he had seen.

Still, it was pretty damn annoying. He’d been looking forward to pulling out a Dratini and giving it the chance to breathe the open air again. Croccy would have made friends with it almost instantly, and he was pretty sure that Lurch would have enjoyed someone to coil around him like a mighty tree. Shimmer would have been flying around, playing about with it, giving it an idea of how it would be able to fly when it evolved.

It felt like a good idea. And now, he’d have to doom another Pokémon to the computer for a while if he wanted to give it that. God. Fucking. Dammit.

When I find the person that invented this system, I swear, I’m going to punch their lights out.

He understood it to some degree, he supposed. They wanted to keep things competitive, make it so that trainers didn’t bring massive numbers of Pokémon to a fight. But at the same time, they could have just limited the number of Pokémon that they could use per match, making them pick out a certain number for every match rather than just forcing them to leave a bunch of them in the depths of a computer system.

Shaking his head, Jared got up from the computer. Croccy took his hand as he held it out, and the croconaw followed him eagerly.

“So, when do we get to see the new friend?” Croccy asked.

“Probably tomorrow. I need to figure out how to make this work.”

“Oh…so what are we doing now? Fun?”

“No. Fight.”

“Oh. Well, that’s fun too!”

He couldn’t help but smile at Croccy’s way of turning it from a chore to a pleasure, but the smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. It was going to have to be a standard sort of fight this time around, rather than getting around most of the problems the way that he had been – by cheating – but he hoped that he could avoid most of them.

It was a short trip from the Pokémon Center to the gym. It loomed upwards as a large, dome-like structure, but as soon as he walked inside, he found himself staring at raised walkways, courtyards, and twitchy-looking women that were all turning this way and that, almost like they were trying to catch him mid-movement. He could see that some of them were in the courtyards between him and the far end of the gym, and some were on the walkways over it.

…Who designs these places? he wondered.

Shaking his head, he put himself to the task of making his way through with minimal battles. He might not get to avoid all of them this time, but he could avoid most of them.

#

Most of them. One of them had still happened, and Bright Eyes had fallen into a deep, true sleep as a result of the Jigglypuff that the trainer had brought out in multitudes. Croccy was nodding off slightly, but still stayed standing at the end of it. Jared shook his head.

“Status effects. Really…really annoying.”

“I can’t believe you beat all the Jigglypuffs,” his opponent, a young woman with long red hair, muttered to herself. “I…you…you were supposed to lose.”

“Well, I’m here to win, so let me get this over with.”

He took a step towards the archway under the walkway. The gym leader, as far as he could tell, was supposed to be through that door. Jared managed a step before his opponent jumped in front of him, spreading her arms outwards to block him.

“W-wait, just a second. We need to talk first.”

“What’s there to talk about? I won, and now I need to take on your gym leader.”

“Yes, but, you – you could wait a second, right? Or a few minutes. Or, um, an hour.”

She was trying to slow him down. The only reason for that was to make sure that he lost afterward, as far as he could tell. Or she was worried that he might beat her boss too easily, and she might get in trouble for that. He shook his head, walking around her. She tried to grab him, but could not leave her spot to chase him as he walked through the archway –

And found himself staring at something that he had never expected in a million years. Suddenly, all the trainers with Jigglypuffs made sense. The status effect moves, the putting the opponent to sleep style, it was all a delaying practice, meant to keep other trainers from busting through and seeing…this.

The gym leader, a pink-haired woman that looked like she regularly spent time in the sun, was on her back, scissoring with a cow Pokémon. Udders bounced against thighs, and the trainer’s head was tilted back. He could just make out a second toy down there, one that linked the human and her Pokémon ass to ass, the pair of them bumping against each other and pleasuring one another with the shared toys.

His mouth hung open in disbelief, unable to quite process what he was seeing. This was the sort of thing that would shame a person for life if it got out that they were doing something like this. It was…

“Gym Leader! Whitney! You…you have a challenger!” the red-haired woman shouted.

Whitney yelped, her eyes going wide. They didn’t settle on him at first, and he realized that the yelp had been her cumming right then out of fear and adrenaline. As she calmed down, she managed to bring her eyes down to him…and she went bright red.

“You…you…”

“…”

“Look away!”

She covered her chest, and he finally did the decent thing of looking anywhere but at her. The cow Pokémon – a Miltank, he finally remembered – pulled back, revealing many inches of a double-ended dildo that had been buried in its ass. In her ass, he corrected, once he was reminded of what Whitney had been doing with it to start.

He kept his eyes anywhere but on the other trainer, his cheeks burning. And here he’d thought that he was the freak, just having some anal fun with one of his Pokémon. Here was a Gym Leader – a Gym Leader – doing something far more extreme with her Pokémon. What…how did something like this happen?

And how did the rest of the girls know about it and not expose her?

Turning on his heel to give her privacy, he stared back out at the gym proper. The one trainer that he’d been forced to battle was looking as bright red as her hair, and he wondered if she had the same sort of ‘inclinations’ with her Pokémon as Whitney did. He kept his head clear of that as best he could, and reached down to make sure that Croccy was giving them space as well.

“Nnnngh…”

“Come on…don’t stare.”

“You were!”

“Doesn’t matter,” he muttered.

And he’d been staring in shock, not want. He could see a little bit of dick showing from Croccy at that moment, and he shook his head, giving the little guy a nudge. Not a good time to be doing something like that.

A few minutes and a cleared throat later, he felt allowed to turn around. Whitney was fully dressed, and the Miltank was nowhere to be seen. Her hair fell in rough, sweaty lines around her face, and she was still clearly embarrassed as to what she’d allowed someone else to see. She looked him in the eye for a minute, then obviously felt like she couldn’t maintain it, looking down at the ground.

“What’s it going to take to keep you quiet?” she muttered.

“Hmm?”

“You heard me. What’s it going to take for you to stay quiet?”

“…”

“I’ll give you the badge, if that’s enough.”

“…No,” Jared said, shaking his head more to clear the shock from it than anything else. “No, that’s not right. Let’s just…battle.”

“Wha – you’re turning it down?”

“Wouldn’t be fair,” he muttered. “Besides, she tried to stop me. And I didn’t listen.”

“…Well…least you’re being decent about it. But…but I’m not going to hold back, you know. I’m going to make you work for it.”

“That’s what I’d prefer.”

And it would be normal. And it would mean that his cover would be better kept than just taking a bribe and walking out. If someone found out about that, it put both of them at risk, whereas a regular battle had a better chance of keeping things quiet. He pulled one of the balls from his belt.

“Shall we?”

“Please.”

“Just to not be –”

“So weird, yeah,” Whitney said.

#

The first round went well, and though Gobbler had been less than happy to be facing off against an opponent that was awake, the Drowzee did his job knocked his Clefairy opponent out in short order. A combination of Hypnosis and Confusion had been more than enough to do the job.

The next opponent, however…

“Zeeeeeeee!”

The rolling pile of flesh that was the Miltank sent Gobbler flying, and Jared had to act fast to keep his little Psychic from hitting the ground on the opposite end of the arena, hard. He managed to summon him back to the ball at the last second, shaking his head as he turned back to Whitney.

“…You weren’t kidding,” he muttered.

“Mmm, nothing beats my Milky – uh, my Miltank.”

“MIL!”

The cow Pokémon hopped back up, clapping its fist-hooves together almost like a boxer might have done. Jared shook his head; this kind of battle didn’t have a gimmick that he could take advantage of. Or at least, not that he’d seen so far. There was no platform that he could bash a Pokémon against, nor a move that kept going in perpetuity like in Bugsy’s place.

So…looks like it might have to be a straight battle on this one…

“…Croccy, you up for this?” he asked.

His Croconaw didn’t answer, just hopped forward. Well, jumped forward, skipping into the ring with a grin. He spread his arms out wide, looking for all the world like the newcomer to the ring that was eager to challenge the champ. Jared was more than a little worried that it would go about as well as that, too.

Her Miltank began the battle the same way that it had beaten Drowzee, swinging forward with that Rollout attack that swept her through the ring and brought her slamming into Croccy’s chest. For a moment, it looked like the Water-type might be able to stay on his feet, but no. He got slammed backwards, knocked head over heels, and had to spend what should have been his ‘turn’ getting back to his feet.

Then another Rollout followed.

And another.

And another.

With each successive attack, Croccy got knocked back further, starting to display a collection of bruises that were downright disturbing. He panted for breath, taking longer and longer to get up –

“Croccy, Water Gun, floor!”

The next Rollout went right under the crocodile Pokémon, and even managed a glancing blow against the rolling Miltank. Jared grinned, and Croccy flashed him one in return as he came back down.

But the battle wasn’t over yet. Even as Croccy managed a glancing hit with another Water Gun, Miltank turned…and pushed her udder up, showing off for the crocodile.

What the…oh, come on…

“Haha, Attract should keep him distracted,” Whitney said. “No male Pokémon can resist Milky when she starts showing off…”

“…We might have a problem,” Jared said.

“No, you might. Nobody can – hey, hey! That’s not – Milky, make him stop!”

Jared facepalmed, looking away as his Croconaw charged the Miltank and knocked her head over heels, only to leap on top of her and do…well, what any Pokémon would do when they were all horned up with each other. They were not quiet about it, either, the pair of them moaning, cooing, mooing, and grunting as they went at it.

The two humans looked at each other, and then quietly stepped to the far side of the ring. Whitney was the first to speak.

“First one to drop loses?” she muttered.

“Fair enough to me.”

“I – sorry about this. I’ve never seen Milky use the move…that way…”

“Trust me. I didn’t think that Croccy was into females like this.”

“Live and learn.”

They stared at the wall awkwardly as their Pokémon went at it. Jared, at the least, was trying to ignore it, but it was hard to tune out the sloppy, squelching sound that was going on behind him. He hummed a bit, but it didn’t do anything.

“So, um…you and Milky…do that often?” he asked.

“Not enough, for her tastes. Or mine. Arceus…are we actually talking about this?”

“Well…if it helps, me and Croccy do the same thing.”

“Well, at least I’m talking to someone else that gets it.” She looked over her shoulder, shaking her head. “They’re still going.”

“…Coffee?”

“Please.”
