“He’ll be here soon, guys, I promise.”
That was what Alex had been saying for the past ten minutes as the other players at the table got antsy. It was bad enough that the DM was late, but he knew that wasn’t the only reason they were eyeing the door.
Come on, you can at least give an anthro a chance…
He probably was giving his fellow players a little too much credit. They had been playing as the same group since before the Desegregation, and now that the anthros were allowed to be part of the same society as the rest of them, it was a long, slow process of getting any sort of real acceptance among human-kind.
Not that he had a problem. Hell, he’d been the one to invite Deleram - the elephant that was currently running late - to run a session for them. Sure, he thought some of the other guys would complain a bit, but the fact that they’d all shown up had to mean something...right?
Not by the way that they were looking at their watches, the door, and back again. They’d never done that for their previous DM, who’d left the state just last month for a new job.
Alex was about to promise pizza for everyone that would stick around when the door to the game shop finally opened. He turned, and sighed.
“Finally! Deleram, get over here!” he called out.
The elephant in question smiled benevolently, waving his hand in a ‘calm down’ gesture as he crossed the shop. The fact that he was dressed different to everyone was a real eye-catcher, not that his species difference wasn’t already enough of one. He was dressed in a leather vest, one that barely covered his nipples and left his belly and chest bare, and his pants were little more than silk sheets that were barely thick enough to keep his legs and crotch covered.
His large, bare feet patted against the floor as he walked by, and Alex just shook his head as the elephant sat down as if he was right on time.
“Sorry for shouting, but...well, you were kinda late.”
“I was ensuring that the experience would be as perfect as possible for you,” the elephant said. “Please, calm yourselves. I brought characters for all of you.”
“Wait, wait, hold on.” John, one of the other players, shook his head. “We always make our own characters.”
“I believed that it might be easier for you to reach the end of the campaign if you played characters made for it.” Deleram held up four character sheets. “They are quite powerful, if you would be willing to take them.”
That set off exactly the argument that Alex knew was coming. He slapped a hand to his forehead as the other players started complaining about DM railroading, about being forced to play in a certain way, that this was the problem with playing with new people - and that the term ‘people’ was being used loosely - and that they should just go home.
Before Alex could lose his cool, the elephant shook his head, putting the character sheets back.
“Alright. If you wish to make character sheets, I will not stop you. However, I think you will find the campaign more difficult if you proceed without my guidance.”
“I’ve never backed down from a challenge,” John grunted.
“Well, you certainly will not back down from this one.” Deleram smiled. “Please, make your characters. I will revise my notes while I’m waiting.”
Well, at least one of us is calm, Alex thought.
While his friends were pulling out dice and sourcebooks, however, he turned to the elephant.
“Could, uh, I see one of the characters?”
“Of course, Alex. Take whichever you like.”
He did just that, sitting down as the elephant got comfortable. The sight of those big gray soles propping themselves up on the table was registered, then ignored as he looked over the different characters that their guest had prepared.
Holy…
Alex blushed as he looked over the illustrations that graced the different character sheets. Each one of them were dressed in harem gear, most of them barefoot, and certainly not human. The one that had been marked down for him was a big-footed, big-hipped lizard with a loincloth that didn’t cover his balls, nipple piercings, and a collar around his neck that had a long gold chain coming down from it.
I look like a harem dancer…
In fact, that was his class. He looked through the special abilities, the feats, everything. His character was designed to seduce, to build up sexual magic through various encounters, and to have bard-like persuasive abilities that could sway rooms and enemies. It was...well, risque was too mild a word for it. It was downright pornographic.
“Um...Deleram…”
He looked up, gazing past the elephant’s toes. They were dancing slowly, and he realized there was a warm hint of musk on the air, a strange...warm...almost spicy smell. He rubbed his nose, trying to be polite as he did his best to ignore it.
“Um, is this...what kind of campaign is this?”
“A campaign that models itself after parallels between your lands and my own, of course.”
“...”
“I promise, you will be quite comfortable.”
There was a strange flicker there, followed by a tingle for the lizard as he watched the elephant’s toes rise and fall, a glint of light coming off a toe-ring that he didn’t remember seeing before.
“And quite safe.”
Another flicker, and another sense of...tingling weirdness. He shook his head, looking back down at the character.
Maybe…
“If you don’t feel comfortable or safe, please remember that I am here entirely for a pleasurable experience for all of us. If you allow yourself to be guided by me, I promise, you will have a very pleasant time.”
Alex slowly nodded. It wasn’t...so bad, he supposed, and he had been looking to play something of a different character. He leaned back, looking over his character sheet...up at the elephant...then back down again.
He swore that something had changed. Was there...had he seen the chain on the collar going to a gray hand before? He swore that was impossible, but...maybe he had just misremembered? Or missed it?
“I can give this a try, sure,” he said, even though he felt a little...hiss in his mouth. Almost like his tongue wasn’t quite right. “Yeah, I can do thissss.”
“Good, good, Nataraj.”
“Oh, are we going by character namessssss?”
“I felt it would be best to embrace our roles properly.”
Another dance of those toes, and then another tingle. This time, he swore that he felt his cock rising in his pants, almost like it was responding to those dancing toes and that golden toe-ring. No, those multiple toe-rings. What...well, of course, the elephant had several. Why wouldn’t he?
He looked over at his friends. The other players had slowly stopped their progress in filling out their character sheets, just staring at them instead. Their nostrils flared now and then, almost as if they were taking in the same musky scent that he had been noticing from the start. They gradually looked up from the papers, meeting Deleram’s eyes...and toes...and flexing feet.
“Look at your friend, Nataraj. Can you see how safe and comfortable he is? How much better he feels when he follows my guidance? Wouldn’t you want to feel as safe, comfortable, and pleasant as he does?”
They slowly nodded, reaching out their hands inch by inch. They took the sheets that they were given, and leaned back.
Strange...I don’t remember John having a veil…
He looked back at his own character sheet, his fingers suddenly seeming quite green against the paper instead of the softer skin that he had seen before. And the image had changed again...or had it? He remembered that his character was owned by an elephant noble, so…
Maybe it was always getting fucked up the ass?
At any rate, he admired the way that his lizard looked. It was so much like him, so well-proportioned in the rear and fitted for the use of fucking. He smiled, reaching down and rubbing his own ass, imagining what it would be like if he had a master like his character did, how it would feel to bend over, or put his large, scaly feet on a pair of strong legs and ride that cock…
Heh, I even have extreme balance feats. And a feat for big feet and stomping them on my enemies…
He chuckled, shucking off his sandals - shoes? No, he had always been wearing sandals - and letting his oversized feet air out under the table. Deleram smiled at him as he put the character sheet down, holding out the first of four golden collars.
“Now, boys, let’s set out on a grand adventure together, hmm? Let your master lead you into a brave new world…”
Nataraj - not Alex, but Nataraj - was the first to reach out for the golden chains, but he wasn’t the last. By the end of it, all four players had clicked their leashes into their collars, and the game was all but forgotten as they leaned forward, dragging their tongues along the undersides of their master’s big, gray feet.
The soft musk flooded over his tongue and through his nose, and soon, the lizard had forgotten all the unpleasant things from before. It felt so much better to be a good, owned lizard.
