Another installment to the hybrid series. I'm really starting to love this world and I'm glad you are also. The characters are so much fun to work with and I'm happy you are connecting with them as much as I am. Big thank to my favorite cattle dog Duxton for PRing this and adding more depth to it. Without him and all of you, this wouldn't be possible. Thanks a bunch for reading. Leave your comments be they good, bad, or suggestions. Enjoy!!

Lilly was restless as she flipped through the TV on the wall. She had been in bed for the last couple days after her attempted murder. Somebody tried to either kill her or kidnap her. Why? Was it to make her love quit on the bill? Why were people so against hybrids having equal rights? She let out a sigh before leaning back in the bed. Her stomach let out a gurgle.

“I'm hungry. Maybe it's time for a bite to eat.”

She pushed the nurse button and waited for a bit. A bunny came in a few minutes later with a smile.

“What can I get for you?”

“I'm getting a little bit hungry. Do you think I can have something to eat?”

“Absolutely. What would you like?”

“Anything and everything,” Lilly giggled along with the nurse.

“Coming right up.”

Lilly watched her leave before looking back at the TV. She saw the news playing images of Kelley speaking to reporters as four people sat around the table discussing it.

What does Congressman Gold hope to achieve by doing this? I don't understand his logic in trying to get these things equal rights.”

Maybe it's about time he wakes up to the reality that hybrids are and always will be slaves.”

He needs to just give up and focus on real issues. Like whether or not he'll keep his spot in congress.”

I say just throw that hybrid bleep in jail and move on. Sorry for the cursing, but this guy makes me sick to my bleep stomach. You can fine me later. We're going to take a break and when we come back, we'll discuss why are tax dollars are paying to keep hybrid hospitals up and running.”

Lilly turned off the TV, a steady angry snarl in her throat.

“How dare they! They don't know what its like to live everyday in constant fear. Not knowing when your next meal is going to come or if you are even going to wake up.”

A knock on the door made her look over to see Ryudo standing there. He walked over and gave a smile making her tail wag happily.

“Something get you riled up? I can see your hackles raised.”

“Just watching the news reporters belittle Kelley. I can't believe how small minded they are.”

“Its human nature. Don't pay it any mind. Don't let them see you weak. Otherwise, they win.”

She gave a nod of her head as the bunny nurse came back with a tray of food. Her eyes went wide, a bit of drool coming down the side of her muzzle. Ryudo chuckled before taking a seat and watching her chow down.

“Michelle makes good food huh?”

“The best I ever had,” she said through a muzzle full of sweet corn.

She washed it down with a cup of lemonade before sighing and letting out a small burp, folding her ears in a blush making Ryudo chuckle.

“Well, at least your appetite is good.”

He stood up and checked her chart, flipping through the pages and taking a seat again, writing down notes as Lilly looked at him.

“Can I ask you a question?”

“Ask away.”

“Don't you get a lot of hate for helping us?”

“I do. But to be honest, I really don't give a fuck.”

He placed the clipboard down and crossed his leg before closing his eyes.

“My parents are billionaires and they wanted me to follow in their footsteps. Sitting behind a desk while snapping my fingers and making people jump. That wasn't for me. When I started studying hybrid medicine, people said I was wasting my time. That I should be focusing on making money, not losing it.”

“Who are your parents? If you don't mind me asking.”

“Peter and Doris Peterson.”

“Ranked five in Popular magazine as one of the top company heads to work for. Bringing in almost seven figures a year. Great parents to be born from,” Lilly said.

“You know your stuff.”

Lilly smiled before shrugging.

“When you have a mate in Congress, you tend to know a lot of things.”

“Mate huh?”

Lilly's ears folded as she let out a soft whine.

“You won't tell anybody will you? I don't want anything to happen to him because of me.”

Ryudo chuckled before shaking his head.

“I have a hybrid mate also, so don't worry about a thing.”

She looked at him in surprised.

“You have a hybrid mate also?”

“Yeah. His name is Gail and he's a cute hyena. I did have another one. My first one. His name was Justin, a cute coyote and I loved him more than life itself. But my parents were scared of their reputation with him always being around me in public and people started talking. Then they shipped him off to my grandparents and I never saw him again until my graduation.”

“When did you first fall for him?”

Ryudo crossed his arms and closed his eyes.

“I guess you could say it was a long time coming. He was always there for me in good times and bad. One night while watching a movie, our hands met in a bowl of popcorn. We looked into each others eyes, and pretty much let nature take its course.”

“Was it your first time?”

“For both of us, yes.”

“Did you have any human females to court?”

Ryudo shivered at that, remembering Jessica.

“There was a crazy female. Did anything and everything to make me fall in love with her.”

“Did it work?”

“No.”

“What happened?”

“She tried to kill Gail. So in a bout of rage, I punched her hard, making her spin in the air before she got knocked out by hitting her head on a bench. She had it coming for a long time.”

“Sorry for making you remember that,” Lilly said, ears folded a little.

“Again, it's in the past. That's why I fell in love with Justin and Gail. They cared more about me then themselves. She only cared about her reputation,” Ryudo smiled before looking at her. “And besides, nothing can ever beat holding your own fuzzy hybrid close to you while sleeping.”

Lilly chuckled making Ryudo blush.

“I guess I could say the same thing about Kelley. When Kelley and his wife got me, I thought I was going to be headed for another hard labor place.”

Her eyes looked out the window, seeing the sun in the blue sky remembering that day.

“When I first saw him, there was something about him that made me feel......giddy. They took me to their home and showed me to my room. I never had anything of my own before. Then, I met Sonya. She is the most adorable little girl in the world.”

Her ears wilted a little before continuing.

“Then when her mother died, she looked to me as a mother figure.”

“I'm sorry to hear that,” Ryudo said softly.

“It's okay. Kelley took it the hardest though. He started to get depressed day after day. I helped him through it all, doing what I could to help him cope. Then one night, after putting Sonya to bed, he took me by the hand and lead me to his room. Once there, our lips met for the first time and a fire started to burn inside me. I wanted him and he wanted me. We mated almost all night.”

“No wonder you're always smiling.”

They both laughed as Lilly placed the tray on the counter next to her.

“It must've been hard to lose Justin though. I can only imagine the heart ache you went through,” Lilly said softly.

Ryudo went quiet, still seeing that fuzzy muzzle in his eyes and the soft embrace he always gave him.

“I have Gail now, and that's all I need. Justin will always hold a place in my heart though.”

A knock on the door made them look to see Kelley standing there with a smile. He walked over and sat next to Lilly, grabbing her paw and giving her a kiss making her murr happily.

“What's the word Dr. Peterson? Can Lilly leave soon? I have the supporters needed to get the bill to the president. He's agreed to meet me once he gets back from his conference.'

Ryudo looked at her chart again before rubbing his chin.

“So far, her neural patterns are good and we are sensing nothing wrong with her motor functions. Her scars on her head should heal fine in the next week or so, so yeah, I see nothing wrong with letting her go.”

Lilly let out a happy yip at that. She couldn't wait to get some fresh air. She went to the edge of the bed and placed her paws on the floor, making her shiver feeling the cold tickle her pads. Her first steps were shaky, but Kelley was there to support her.

“Man I can't wait to get out of here and feel the sun on my fur.”

“Don't strain yourself to fast. You've been in bed for a bit so your legs might need a little work.”

“LILLY!” Sonya cheered, rushing in and giving her a hug.

“How's my special little cub doing?” Lilly smiled, leaning over to nuzzle and lick her cheek making Sonya laugh with glee and happiness.

Trevor knocked on the door and walked in, smiling at the scene. Kelley looked at him and nodded.

“Did you bring her stuff?”

“Right here,” Trevor said, holding a bag with some of Lilly's clothes in it.

Kelley took the bag and handed it to Lilly who smiled. As if on cue, all the men left the room and waited outside.

“Thank you again for saving Lilly. I'm sorry for snapping at you that day,” Kelley said softly.

“We all get emotional in times of distress. No harm, no foul.”

“Thanks also for the extra supporters. I can finally get the bill passed and do away with hybrid slavery.”

“You know people are going to have a fit about this?”

“That's their problem. It's high time we stop acting like little kids and start acting like the adults we are.”

Ryudo looked at him through the corner of his eyes. A nurse walked up to him with a clipboard.

“Dr. Peterson, can you look at these list of patients for evaluation please.”

“Certainly. If you'll excuse me Congressman.”

“Not at all.”

“If anything else happens, come on back and we'll take care of her.”

“Thank you.”

Ryudo nodded his head before walking away with the nurse as Trevor looked on.

“I like him. There's something about him that makes me feel happy all over,” he said, a happy wag to his tail.

“Indeed. Wish all people were like him.”

The door opened as Lilly walked out wearing a simple pair of black pants and a white shirt. She reached over and grabbed Kelley's hand giving it a squeeze. They walked towards the front desk, getting her signed out and an extra check list in case something went wrong. They walked out into the afternoon air. Lilly took a deep breath, inhaling the warm scent and letting out a murr of happiness.

“Finally, some fresh air.”

“I'm glad to have you back love. You don't know how worried I was that you wouldn't make it,” Kelley said softly.

Lilly wanted to give him a kiss but knew better out in public. Instead, she opted for a big squeeze to his hand. Sonya was by her side, holding her tail making her giggle.

“Where's our ride at Trevor?” Kelley said looking around.

“They'll be here in a bit.”

“They?”

Trevor only nodded with a grin as a Jeep pulled up to the curb and stopped. The doors opened as three hybrids stepped out, a large Bengal tiger, an Akita, and a fox. They gave a bow of their heads before saluting.

“And who do we have here?” Kelley asked.

“This is Issac,” Trevor said pointing the tiger. “Damon,” he pointed to the Akita. “And Drew,” he pointed to the fox.

“Greetings Congressman,” they replied together.

“At ease,” Kelley said as they relaxed. “And call me Kelley.”

“That wouldn't be proper sir,” Issac said crisply.

Lilly giggled as Kelley face palmed himself.

“Let's get one thing straight. If you are going to be my guards, you will call me Kelley. I will not accept anything else. Do I make myself clear?”

All the hybrids looked at each other in confusion. They never had this happen before. Trevor chuckled before looking at them.

“You heard the boss. He gave you an order.”

With a nod of their heads, they saluted and spoke up.

“We understand Kelley.”

“Much better,” Kelley smiled. “Bringing more people to the party Trevor? Should've given me a little warning.”

“Sorry Kelley. But after what happened to Lilly and Sonya, I don't want to take anymore chances. So I got in contact with a friend and got some back up.”

Kelley nodded before walking up to the Jeep, opening the door and allowing Lilly and Sonya in first.

“Where to Kelley?” Trevor asked, walking to the front.

“”Hotel first. I need to get my stuff in order before heading back to Washington.”

“You got it.”

Hanley, Ivory, and Joyce sat in the conference room waiting for that video all from Syzman. Hanley had the paper open, reading the article that Ginger had printed. He still couldn't believe she would do this to him.

“I guess your reporter friend failed huh?” Ivory said with a chuckle.

Hanley gave her a glance before looking at the paper again, reading some of the lines she wrote.

“Mr. Peterson gives hybrids the chance to live a healthy, full life outside of the cruel labor they are put through. Cruel labor huh? She makes it sound like we're the bad guys when they started everything.”

“I just want this asshole out of our hair,” Joyce said angrily. “I've spent almost five hundred thousand so far on medical bills for these fucking mongrels. I'll tell you this much, I'm not spending another cent on these things.”

Joyce was typing away when her laptop beeped. She opened the file, scanning it over before smiling and hitting the send button. After a few moments, people started to file into the conference room. Once everybody took a seat, a projection screen rolled down from the ceiling, coming to life to show Szyman sitting on the edge of his desk.

Good afternoon everybody.”

“Good afternoon.”

I take it we all seen the headline in the paper. Who do we have to thank for that?”

“That would be me. I thought Ginger would do better than this,” Hanley spoke up.

Szyman looked at him before frowning. He got up from the desk and walked around it to take a seat.

Doesn't matter now. That situation is being taken care of as we speak. Let's talk about what needs to be done. First things first, we can't let Kelley get to Washington. If he gets to Washington, everything we gained, will be lost. And I for one, will not go back to being with the common rabble on the streets.”

“Do you have a plan?” somebody spoke up.

Yeah, stop Kelley. He doesn't need to die. All we need to do, is acquire that list of supporters he has. Then he'll lose all hope cause he won't have time to get more supporters.”

“Sounds like a solid plan. Who do you have to do it?”

I know a couple of people that owe me a favor. Second thing, who the hell is this Peterson person?”

“He's the new super at Express Scripts Hospital and the one that's costing us money,” Ivory snarled.

Szyman let out a chuckle at that.

This is the first time I've ever seen you this mad.”

“I'm sick of wasting money. This asshole has got to go.”

I agree. Does anybody have any ideas? Besides the one Hanley came up with.”

Nobody spoke up as Szyman rubbed his chin.

It appears that he needs to be dealt with personally. Do what it takes to put him out of the equation. Worse comes to worse, I'll let Psi handle him.”

Everybody let out a gasp and looked at one another.

“Psi? But that's insane.”

Desperate times calls for desperate measures. I'm not losing more money because of this fur fucker. This shit stops here and now.”

His phone rang as he looked at it on the desk.

It appears I must cut this meeting short. Do what needs to be done about this Peterson boy. If I don't see the results that I want, I WILL call in Psi. This meeting is adjourned.”

The screen rose up to the ceiling as everybody got up from their seats and made their exit. Hanley sat there, arms crossed as Ivory looked at him, raising an eyebrow.

“You have that look Hanley. What are you thinking of?”

“Maybe I should have a talk with this Peterson kid. Maybe I can talk so sense into him before Psi gets a hold of him. Where is this hospital at?”

Joyce pulled up the map on the laptop.

“Looks like its about a four hour plane ride. Do you want me to get the plane ready?”

“Yes. I'll head down there and make my peace with him. Maybe I can win him over.”

“Do you want any blank checks?” Ivory asked.

“Wouldn't do any good. This Peterson kid is probably somebody you can't win over with money.”

“Plane is ready and waiting,” Joyce said hanging up her phone. “Your hotel is also prepared.”

Hanley nodded before getting up and heading for the door.

“Good luck,” Ivory said.

“I won't need it. If this Peterson person is as smart as his profile says he is, he'll listen to reason.”

///////

Aaron made his rounds around the farm, a smile on his face and clipboard in hand as he did his daily chores. He still couldn't believe he was actually here on the famous Davenport Ranch. And the best part of it, he was with his true love Amanda. Just think, a couple days ago he was watching his hybrids from Singer's farm being loaded into a bus, ready to be taken to hell. Now, they were all smiles as they worked the fields.

“Okay, everything seems to be in order here. Let's go see how the new comer is making out.”

He headed out into the field, waving to the hybrids as they gave him a smile and wave back. He found who he was looking for piling hay onto the truck, which was a brown tabby cat. Walking up, the feline turned and saw him walking up as he wiped his forehead.

“Good afternoon Roman,” Aaron said.

“Good afternoon,” Roman replied.

“How is everything?”

“Pretty good. This is a nice place. Never thought something like this existed.”

Aaron chuckled at that.

“Yeah, this is one of the nicest farms in the country. You do work, but you don't work til your dead on your feet.”

“I hear that.”

Aaron watched him load a hay bale onto the trunk before taking a swig of water with a smile.

“Are you getting accustomed to how everything works here?”

Roman nodded his head.

“Yeah. You gave me a pretty good explanation and tour. I'm thankful for that.”

“Anything I can do to help,” Aaron said before looking at his watch seeing it was almost lunch time. “Look like its almost lunch time. Shall we head back to grab a bite?”

“Indeed.”

They headed towards the mess hall followed by the other hybrids who were laughing and talking away. Aaron never thought he would see this. Hybrids with smiles on their faces and enjoying life. They made it to the mess hall as the smell of food made Aaron's stomach rumble in response. Everybody stood in line, grabbing what they wanted and taking a seat. Aaron filled his plate and grabbed a seat next to his good hybrid friend Henry who smiled and gave a happy wag of his tail.

“Hey there Henry,” Aaron said.

“Hey yourself,” Henry replied.

“Can you believe we are actually here? I was so scared I would lose all of you that day.”

Aaron went quiet for a bit, remembering that fateful day when the BHA came to his dad's farm. He couldn't save them all, but he did save Amanda, which what really mattered to him. He felt his hand get squeezed as he looked at Henry.

“All we can do, is let fate take its course. But the one thing I was happy for, is that you saved Amanda.”

Speaking of Amanda, she skipped over and hugged Aaron from behind, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

“Hello dad, Aaron,” she said happily.

“Hello my dear,” Henry said, taking a forkful of rice.

“Hey cutie,” Aaron replied, tickling her chin making her tail wag happily as she took a seat next to him, tray of food on the table as she started eating. “How's the new hybrid coming along?”

“Roman? He's learning the ropes quickly. He's a great addition here.”

“That's good. He seems rather distant for some reason.”

“Probably not used to the environment yet. Give him some time and I'm sure he'll be fine.”

Amanda nodded at that before food over took her thoughts as she munched away. Roman sat in the back, his mind trying to figure out what to do. What was it he was looking for on this farm? He had no clue where to start.

I hope Kaisl is okay. God I miss him so much. But Szyman said he'll get us back together. And I aim to do whatever is needed to make that happen. I don't want everybody to lose the happiness they have here, but I want my happiness back.”

His train of thought was broken up by a loud howl making all the hybrids ears perk up.

“What the hell was that?” Aaron said.

“Somebody got hurt,” Henry said standing up.

Some of the hybrids took off towards the howl along with Aaron. They made it to the person who made to the howl which was a fox that was kneeling over a female otter that was bleeding from the side.

“What happened?” Aaron asked.

“She fell from the tree and I think one of the branches struck her on the way down.”

Aaron reached over and tried to apply pressure making her whine loudly in pain. Jim walked over after hearing the howl and saw the otter down.

“What happened?”

“I'm sorry Jim. She was gathering the fruit from the tree. I turned my back for a second to get another basket when I heard her yell and fall to the ground. I manage to break her fall but one of the branches might've struck her.”

“I can see it in her,” Jim said grimly, seeing the broken stick in her side with blood oozing around it. “Aaron, wrap her side carefully and bring her inside. I'm going to call the doctor.”

“But no doctor's are going to come help a hybrid,” Aaron said, grabbing the towel a hybrid gave him and tried to stop the bleeding.

“There is one,” Jim said, getting back up and heading towards his house.

Once inside, he found his small book of numbers. Turning a few pages, he found the number Anthony gave him.

“I hope this kid is as good as Edwards says.”

//////

The plane landed with a thud on the runway, tires screeching as the engines revved in reverse to slow down. Once it came to a stop, the folding doors were opened as Hanley got out and stretched his legs.

“Mr. Hanley?”

Hanley looked down to see a young man standing there in a white suite and black tie. His blonde hair was slicked back and a pair of sunglasses were in the jacket pocket.

“That's me.”

“Greetings sir. I am your personal assistant during your time here. Is there any place you would like to go?”

“Hotel first. Then to Express Scripts Hospital.”

“Yes sir,” the man said, opening the limo door as Hanley got in.

Closing the door, the man jogged quickly to the driver side and got in, starting the limo as the engine didn't make a sound when coming on. The small window came down as Hanley looked at him.

“What's your name?”

“Ronald sir.”

“Nice name.”

“Thank you sir. We should be at your hotel in about fifteen minutes if traffic is good.”

Hanley sat back in the seat, eyes closed as he thought about what to say. What could he say?

There has to be something this kid wants or needs. I just have to figure out what. Bribing him isn't going to work. Hopefully we can talk like gentlemen and come to a sensible solution that will benefit us both.”

The limo pulled up to the Santos Hotel, the door opening as Hanley got out fixing his suit. He walked up the red carpet to the automatic doors and walked in towards the front desk.

“Good afternoon sir. Welcome to Santos Hotel. Do you have reservations?” the puma asked.

“Hanley Marshall, executive suite.”

The puma type quickly before smiling and handing Hanley his card.

“Here you go sir. Tenth floor room nine.”

Hanley took the card and headed up to his room. Reaching his door, he inserted the card and walked in. The room was nice. Bar setup in the corner with stools around it. Living room with an imitation bear skin rug in the middle of a black love seat and couch. Patio decked out with a hot tub and grill. Bedroom fitted with a queen size bed covered in a satin silk sheet and comforter.

“Nice digs.”

He headed over to the bar and poured him a quick shot of tequila, coughing a little from the burn. He wanted a little something to make him think better. Once he had that, he headed back downstairs and out the lobby to the awaiting limo and got in.

“To the hospital Mr. Hanley?” Ronald asked.

“Yes.”

The limo pulled off as Hanley closed his eyes.

What could I say to convince him?”

That thought kept going through his mind over and over as he felt the limo turn and stop at various intervals. He was so in his thoughts he didn't even hear his name being called.

“Huh?”

“We've arrived sir. Express Scripts Hospital.”

“Oh, thank you.”

He got out and looked at the hospital. It was a wide hospital standing about six stories high. The outside was neat and clean, with a large bed of flowers that resembled a medical cross comprised of roses on a raised hill that was being tended to by a deer. He looked up to see a tiger and skunk cleaning the windows on a scaffolding.

I must say, this place is surprisingly impressive.”

He walked inside and looked around. The inside was just as neat as the outside. The floors shined and had a marble pattern to it. To the right was the waiting room as people and their hybrids waited to be checked on. Little cubs were watching TV and giggling happily at the silly cartoons.

Okay, this place is way to nice for hybrids. They don't deserve all of this. This is a little over the top.”

The security office was next to the exit as a bull and hippo chuckled away as they talked to each other. The front desk was being occupied by two female badgers as they filed paperwork and answered phones. He walked over to it and cleared his throat.

“One second sir, we'll be right with you,” one of them said with a smile.

He waited and watched as they did their job quickly and efficiently. Once done, one of them looked at him with a cheerful smile.

“Welcome to Express Scripts Hybrid Hospital. Do you have an appointment?”

“No. I'm here to see the head doctor in charge of this place.”

“May I ask why? He doesn't like to be bothered unless its a scheduled appointment.”

“Just tell him I'm here on behalf of my boss, Mr. Szyman.”

The badger flinched at that, knowing who he represented.

“I understand sir. Please take a seat and I'll see if he's available.”

“Don't see. Make it happen,” Hanley said with a hint of anger before walking over to the waiting room.

He took a seat on one of the chairs, surprised at the comfort. Looking on the wall, he saw the newspaper article in a frame. That made him scowl.

“Do you think I'll be able to play with my friends again?” a small hawk cub asked his owner.

“Of course you will. This is the best hospital around and the doctors are top notch. You'll be right as rain in no time. Stop worrying,” the girl said, ruffling his head making him giggle.

Hanley wanted to yell at the girl but kept his cool. Maybe the alcohol was getting to him. His fingers drummed the armrest of the chair. How long was this kid going to make him wait?

“Can I help you?”

Hanley looked to his left to see a young man in a doctor's coat looking at him. He stood up and fixed his suit before speaking.

“Dr. Peterson?”

“What do you want besides scaring my employees?”

“Mr. Peterson, I represent Edward Szyman and....”

“Don't care. What do you want? I'm busy.”

Hanley's eyebrow twitched. This little bastard was in charged of this place? Who does he think he is?

“Can we talk in private?”

Ryudo looked at him, not really caring to hear him out but he figured he'll be a nice guy.

“You have ten minutes. This way.”

They walked towards the elevator lobby and got into the waiting cab, taking it up to the third floor. Getting out, they took a left and walked down the hall as Hanley took in everything. Reaching his office, he opened the door and motioned him to have a seat as he walked around his desk to sit in his chair. Reaching inside, he took out a timer and put it at ten minutes before starting it.

“What do you want?” Ryudo said bluntly.

“I've come to talk about the future.”

“What about it?”

“Do you know that you are causing companies tons of money and impeding the work industry?”

Ryudo shrugged before leaning back in the chair.

“Companies can't complete the work for their clients with you stopping them at the inspection stage. Major buildings that need to be built can't be finished. That my friend is going to come back and bite you in the ass sooner or later.”

“If your so called 'companies' would get their act together, then there wouldn't be a problem.”

“Business comes before anything else in this world boy. Without business, you wouldn't be here. You'd do well to remember that.”

“Without the hybrids, you wouldn't be in business. You'd do well to remember that also,” Ryudo countered back.

Hanley sighed before crossing his legs.

“Why are you so adamant on helping them?”

“Why are you so adamant on making their life a living hell?”

“Because they started something that we finished. It's in our right to make them submit to us.”

“If I remember correctly, this is the land of the free. They had their rights stripped because humans are lazy bastards. They didn't start anything, we did.”

“Who's side are you on boy? Last time I checked, you are a human, not a hybrid.”

“It shouldn't matter what side I'm on. I believe in equal rights for everybody.”

Hanley sat there, uncrossing his legs and tapping the right one on the carpeted rug.

This is getting nowhere. Why can't he see he's making the biggest mistake by siding with these things? I have to get through to him before Szyman releases Psi on him.”

Ryudo looked at the timer, seeing only five minutes left.

“Is that all you want to ramble on about?”

“Think about the money you could make if you just let our companies complete their projects. You could be living on easy street, have the finest girls, and all the hottest cars if that's what you young folks are into.”

“You see this hospital? This is my easy street, my happiness. All those so called girls out there only care about is their image and getting their hands into my parents account.”

“Do your parents agree with the lifestyle you are living?”

“I'm twenty four years old. I'm my own man. I make my own decisions in life. And so far, my decisions are making hybrids live a happy life despite being kept down by assholes like you.”

Hanley was about to speak when Ryudo's phone went off. He looked at the ID and didn't recognize who was calling.

“ Hello Dr. Peterson speaking, can I help you? One second please,” Ryudo said putting the call on hold and looking at Hanley as the timer expired. “Your ten minutes are up. Excuse me if I don't see you to the door.”

Hanley let out a grunt as he got up, fixing his tie and smoothing down his suit.

“You are making a big mistake Dr. Peterson. Please see the light before it's too late. You can end up being a wealthy person.”

“I'll think about it. Now get out!”

Hanley shrugged his shoulders before leaving Ryudo's office. Ryudo watched him before picking up the phone again.

“My apologies for the wait. Can I help you?”

I hope you can. Anthony spoke very highly of you.”

“May I ask who is speaking?”

Jim Davenport of Davenport Ranch.”

Davenport Ranch? Where did Ryudo hear that before?

Anyway, I'm calling because I need your help. One of my hybrids fell from a tree and has a piece of tree stuck in her side.”

“Sounds painful,” Ryudo chuckled.

Looks painful too. Do you think you can pay a visit to help her? I'll pay you for your time.”

“Let me get your address and I'll make a house call for you.”

Ryudo wrote down the address before wincing.

“That's a pretty far drive. What's her condition like?”

She's bleeding a little slower now that we have it wrapped up to a certain degree. But she's going in and out of consciousness.”

“Damn. If I had access to a helicopter, I'd make it there sooner.”

I have a friend who can give you a ride over here. Do you have a helipad on your roof?”

“Yes.”

Good. Head up there and wait for him. I'll give him a call now.”

Ryudo hung up before grabbing his jacket and heading out towards the supply closet. He grabbed everything he would need for the injury into a large bag before zipping it out. Derrick walked out the elevator and saw him packing.

“Hey Ryudo, where you heading?”

“House call. Apparently Anthony is friends with a person called Jim Davenport and gave him my number.”

“Davenport? That's the famous ranch hybrids would die to go to.”

“I see,” Ryudo said, hoisting the bag on his back. “You're in charge until I get back. Make sure the hybrid in 8B gets that shot around two thirty.”

“You got it boss,” Derrick said saluting with a grin.

Ryudo rolled his eyes at that making Derrick laugh as he headed to the roof. The sound of a helicopter was soon heard in the distance before coming closer. It landed with ease as Ryudo kept his head down and headed towards the door and got in as the pilot looked at him.

“Dr. Peterson?” the pilot shouted.

“That's me.”

“Cool. Buckle up and we'll take off.”

Ryudo got in the seat, buckling up and putting the headset on as the pilot took off in the air. If this guy knew Anthony, was Anthony still working as a doctor somewhere? Oh well, he'll figure it out once he gets there.

Ginger let out a sigh as she sat in her hotel room. She scanned her assignment again before placing the paper down and taking a sip of tea. She looked around the room, feeling the emptiness it held.

“Rose,” she said softly.

She made the mistake of letting go of her hybrid companion and best friend. All because she wanted to finish the job for Hanley. Now, she was all alone. Was it really worth it? After the talk Ryudo gave her, she finally realized what truly mattered. But it was too late for that.

“I hope she's happy wherever she's at. I'll come back and ask for forgiveness.”

A knock on the hotel door brought her back to reality.

“Yes?”

“Room service, compliments of Hanley.”

She got up and opened the door as the bellboy pushed in a cart holding a silver platter covered with a dome.

“Premium cut salmon steak with potatoes, pasta and top shelf wine. Please enjoy,” the bellboy said, giving a short bow before leaving.

Ginger looked at the cart left in her room before sighing.

“Rose would love this. God I miss her.”

Her phone rang as she walked over and picked it up.

“Hello? She's on the move? Okay, I'll be right there.”

She hung up and headed for the door before stopping and looking at the cart.

“It'll still be here when I get back.”

With a nod, she left the room and headed for her assignment.

Rose let out laughter as she watched TV with Gail and Shelly. She never laughed this hard in her life, she thought as she wiped some tears from her cheek.

“Oh wow, that was hilarious,” Rose laughed. “I never saw anything that funny before.”

“I know right?” Gail chuckled.

Even Shelly shed a few tears from laughing so much. A knock came at the door, and Shelly got up to answer it, buckling her collar around her neck on the way. She opened the door to see Nick standing there with a smile. She let out a startled yip as Nick scooped her up in his arm, giggling softly before letting out a murr as their muzzles connected.

“Hello my beautiful flower,” Nick murred.

“Hello yourself my knight. What brings you by?”

“What else?” Nick growled softly, burying his muzzle in Shelly neck and inhaling her scent.

She let out a moan before kissing him deeply.

“We can't do that with them here.”

“Already planned for that,” he grinned, extending his wings.

“You kids behave yourself. Me and Nick are going on a little date,” she giggled before Nick took off into the air.

They watched them leave before looking at each other.

“Wonder what that was all about?” Gail questioned.

“Are you that oblivious? They are going to screw each other silly in the woods somewhere,” Rose said rolling her eyes.

Gail let out a soft growl. He didn't like the fact that Ryudo allowed her to stay after her owner let her go. Ryudo said it was the right thing to do, and he felt kind of bad for her. Even still, she was a pain to be around. She was always acting like she was better than him.

“Anyway, I don't mind this change of pace. It's sort of relaxing compared to all the traveling I do,” Rose said, plopping down on the couch.

“Don't you miss your owner?”

Rose was quiet before looking out the window.

“I do miss Ginger. But she made it clear that if I didn't follow the rules, I'm out. That's just the way the world works sadly.”

“I feel sorry for you. Humans shouldn't just get rid of us because of stupid little things.”

She looked at him for a second before laughing. Gail scrunched his muzzle before looking at her.

“What's so funny? Shouldn't you be mad at her for doing this to you?”

Rose collected herself before standing up and walking towards him. He let out a yip as she pulled him closer and hugged him, pushing his face into her chest making him blush heavily.

“Such a kid at heart. That's why you're so damn adorable.”

“Thank you....I think,” Gail said softly before wiggling out of her grasp.

He looked at her with a blush before sitting down. She joined him on the couch, leaning her head on his shoulder and looking into his gold eyes. He looked into her silver eyes for a brief second before looking away quickly.

“I'm going to get something to snack on,” he said, getting up off the couch and heading into the kitchen.

Rose watched him, giggling quietly to herself.

He's so adorable when flustered. Maybe I should stop teasing him since he's taken.”

She let out a sigh before playing with her tail.

“Do you want anything Rose?” Gail asked from the kitchen.

“Just something to drink will be fine.”

He came back holding two glasses of ice tea in one hand and a bowl of chips in the other.

“Thank you,” she said with a smile. “So tell me Gail, what's it like to mate with a human?”

Gail coughed on his drink loudly before looking at her.

“What brought that up all of a sudden?”

“Just an honest question.”

Gail blushed and looked away, rubbing the back of his head.

“Well umm....it was weird from the start since I was new to it all. But after the first time, it just got better and better. His touch is gentle and so inviting. He never forced me into anything I didn't want. He let me decide everything.”

“How big is his penis?”

“Excuse me?” Gail said wide eyed.

“How big is he? Is he horse size? Saint Bernard? Give me details.”

Gail was getting uncomfortable with this talk.

“Look, can we drop this please? I'm not comfortable talking about this.”

Rose puffed out her cheeks before sighing.

“Fine fine. Sorry for making you uncomfortable. Now, let's get back to watching TV.”

Gail gave a smile and nodded his head as they turned their attention to the glowing box.

The helicopter landed in the fields as Ryudo jumped out.

“Thanks for the ride. You're going to bring me back right?”

“I wouldn't leave you out here like that. I'm not that mean.”

Ryudo smiled at that before being greeted by a young man wearing a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt.

“Are you the doctor? Where's your help?”

“I'm a one man army. Is that a problem?”

The young man looked at him skeptically before shaking his head.

“No problem. Just never seen a hybrid doctor. I figure there would be more then one. No matter, she's in the bedroom. Please help her.”

“That's what I'm here for. Lead the way.”

He nodded his head as he led them through the farm. Ryudo looked around, noticing all the happy faces and perky hybrids working in the field. So this is what Davenport Ranch looked like. There were no assholes like that other guy yelling or abusing the hybrids. All the hybrids seemed to know what they were doing and were having fun doing it.

“Never seen a farm like this before.”

“This is the best hybrid farm in the country,” the young man beamed proudly. “And I'm proud to be a part of it.”

“I see. How much further?”

“The house is right over here.”

They reached a house where a wolf was pacing back and forth. Her ears perked and looked their way, a happy wag to her tail.

“Aaron! Welcome back,” she said happily, running into his arms making him laugh. She looked at Ryudo, nose twitching to get his scent. “Is this the doctor that's going to help Shouko?”

Aaron nodded his head before looking at Ryudo who just stood there with an eyebrow raised.

“She's this way,” the wolf girl said happily, heading into the house.

Ryudo followed her in, heading up the stairs to the bedroom. Walking into the last room, he saw an elderly man by the bedside placing a cold rag on her head. He looked over at Ryudo, eyes going up and down with an appraising look.

“So, you're Anthony's replacement huh?”

“Correct. Is this her?”

“Yeah. This is Shouko. Think you can fix her up?”

Ryudo walked over, placing his bag on the ground before removing the towel and grimacing.

“Hmm, looks like it got infected,” Ryudo said, looking at the slight discoloration around the wound. He reached a hand up and felt softly around the insertion point making her grimace in pain. “The object didn't pierce any vital organs which is a good thing.”

“Do you need anything?” the wolf girl asked.

Ryudo looked at her before nodding his head.

“I need some very hot water and room to work so I need you guys to leave.”

“Ain't happening. Anthony may trust you, but I don't. So I stay,” the elderly man said.

“Whatever,” Ryudo said, digging in his bag for the proper instruments to work with.

The wolf girl came back with a bucket of steaming hot water.

“Is this enough?” she asked.

“Perfect. Now, if you'll excuse me.”

The girl nodded before leaving the room. Ryudo dipped his hands into the water, getting nice and clean before slipping on some gloves. Flexing his fingers, he turned his attention to Shouko and began to work. He put a needle in her arm, making her go to sleep before he went to work. The elderly man watched him work with steady hands and a keen eye.

“Seems like Anthony was right about you. You do put hybrids first.”

Ryudo looked at him, dropping the piece of bark that was stuck in her side on a towel.

“Since you know who I am, why not tell me who you are?”

“Jim Davenport. I own this farm.”

“How do you know Dr. Edwards?”

“Me and him go back a little. Too boring to go into details. But I was the one who helped him get that hospital up and running.”

Ryudo took out a needle and a lighter, putting the needle under the flame to sterilize it.

“So was it him that gave you my number?”

“Indeed it was. He said that you knew more then him when it comes to this stuff. I only know so much.”

“I don't know more then him. He makes things bigger than they it seem,” Ryudo said, putting on a pair of glasses with a magnifying lens.

Jim chuckled at that before nodding his head.

“I have to agree with you on that. So what made you become a hybrid doctor?”

“I wanted to help hybrids live the best life possible. Nobody else is going to help them.”

Jim watched him work, surprised at the words he was saying. Maybe this kid was everything Anthony said and more. Ryudo finished putting in the last stitch before taking the glasses off and wiping his forehead.

“Okay. She's going to feel a ton of discomfort for a while. Make sure she doesn't move too much or those stitches will pop right out. I'll leave some antibiotics with you to help with the healing.”

“Thank you kindly Ryudo.”

“Just doing my job,” Ryudo said bluntly, putting his equipment back in the bag after cleaning them in the hot water.

Jim chuckled, making Ryudo look at him.

“You got an attitude don't you? I like that. What's say I treat you to something to eat? Mary can cook you up something fierce.”

“I really need to get back,” Ryudo started but his stomach grumbled making him blush a little. “But I guess something to eat wouldn't be so bad.”

They headed downstairs as the laughter of cubs watching the TV caught Ryudo's ears, and he looked at them with a smile. Walking into the kitchen he saw Aaron sitting next to the wolf girl and laughing away. They saw him walk in as her tail started to wag happily.

“Is Shouko going to be okay?” she asked with a soft whine.

“She'll be fine after some rest. Just make sure not to bother her until she's fully healed.”

She let out a happy yip before hugging him, catching him by surprise. Ryudo smiled before taking a seat as the doe was cooking away.

“Here you go,” the doe said, handing him a plate of food consisting of corn on the cob and fried chicken.

“Thank you,” Ryudo said taking a bite. “Wow, this is pretty good.”

“Everything is grown right here on the farm so its fresh everyday,” Jim said, taking a sip of coffee.

“So what's your name?” Aaron asked.

“Ryudo Peterson.”

“Pleasure to meet you. Name's Aaron Singer. And this beauty next to me is Amanda.”

Amanda blushed at that as her tail wagged happily.

“Such a gentleman,” she cooed softly.

“Always for you.”

“So, you two are together I see?”

They both looked at him, Amanda folding her ears a little and letting out a soft whine. Aaron gripped her paw tightly, eyes narrowing at him.

“You got a problem with that?”

“If I did, what would you do about it?” Ryudo grinned.

“I'd make sure you to shut you up.”

“Sure you would,” Ryudo chuckled, taking a sip of lemonade.

Aaron stood up and walked over to Ryudo, looking him dead in the face as he grabbed his shirt, lifting him up. Jim sat there, looking at the situation unfold as he took out a smoke and lit it.

“She means the world to me. And I'll be damned if I let some slick mother fucker like you take her away.”

“Actions speak louder than words,” Ryudo said, still smiling.

“I'll show you action. I'll wipe that smile off your face.”

He reared back to strike him, but his arm was caught mid swing. Using his momentum, Ryudo flipped him on his back, knee pressed on his spine and arm twisted the wrong way as Aaron grimaced in pain.

“Tsk tsk. If you want to protect her, you'll have to better than that.”

“Please stop. Don't hurt him!” Amanda whined.

Ryudo let him up, Aaron giving him the evil eye as he took a seat next to her rolling his shoulder. Jim chuckled before puffing out a ring of smoke.

“You're pretty good. How many years of study did you have?”

“Three,” Ryudo said taking a seat. “That was some good cooking Mary. Thank you.”

“You're quite welcomed,” Mary smiled.

Ryudo looked at Aaron who was still staring daggers at him before chuckling.

“I have nothing against you Aaron. If you love her, good for you. I hope the two of you will be happy forever.”

They looked at him in confusion before he took out his wallet and produced a picture of him and Gail together.

“Who is that?” Aaron asked as he and Amanda looked at the picture.

“My lover,” Ryudo said with a smile.

“You mean, you and this hybrid?”

Ryudo nodded before putting the picture away.

“So you have nothing to be ashamed of. We love who we love,” he said, feeling his pocket vibrate as he reached inside for his phone. “Hello? Okay, set her up for an EKG and I'll be there as soon as I can. Would love to stay and chat some more, but I'm needed back at the hospital.”

Ryudo got up, bag on his back as they watched him head to the front door.

“Thank you again Ryudo,” Jim said, tipping his head.

Ryudo looked back and gave a smile.

“My pleasure. Next time you speak to Dr. Edwards, tell him he owes me.”

“I'll be sure to relay that message.”

Ryudo nodded before exiting the house. Aaron rolled his shoulder around and grunted.

“He didn't have to twist it so hard.”

//////

The limo pulled to a stop in front of the fifteen story building. Ronald walked out and opened the door for Hanley as he looked up at it.

“So, this is Peterson Logistics? Not bad.”

“Should I wait here sir?” Ronald ask.

“Go grab some lunch and meet me back in here in about an hour.”

“Yes sir.”

Hanley watched him drive away before heading inside. The cool air greeted him along with a brown rug leading straight to the front desk. To the right was a waiting room that held a couple of couches with a small table that held an assortment of magazines. On the wall, the news was playing on a TV with a bar underneath showing the stock market values. The front desk had security gates on either side as employees flashed their badge on the readers letting them through. An ursine was posted at the gate, paws behind his back and a stern expression on his face as his eyes darted back and forth.

“Can I help you sir?” the young man said behind the desk.

“Yes,” Hanley said walking up. “I would like to speak to Mr. and Mrs. Peterson.”

“They are in a conference call at the moment. Can I take a message?”

“Tell them I need to speak to them about their son.”

“One second,” the man said picking up the phone and speaking. “Please have a seat. They'll be with you momentarily.”

Hanley nodded before taking a seat and watching the news. His phone rang as he put his earpiece in and spoke.

“Hello?”

Any luck?” Ivory spoke on the other side.

“He's stubborn and won't listen to reason. Just like Kelley.”

What are you going to do now?”

“I'm about to speak to his parents. Maybe they can talk some sense into him before Psi does.”

Who cares. I say let Psi have him. Then we can get on with our business.”

“If we have a business once Kelley gets back to Washington.”

He heard her suck her teeth before grunting.

Forgot about that asshole. Might as well enjoy my money while I have it.”

“Szyman said he'll handle him,” Hanley spoke before looking up to see two people waiting for him. “I have to go. I see his parents waiting for me.”

He took his ear piece out before standing up and walking over.

“Mr. and Mrs. Peterson?”

“That's us. What's wrong with our son?” Doris asked.

“Can we talk in private?”

“Certainly. This way,” Peter said.

They signed him in before heading to the second floor. Once there, they went to a spare conference room before taking a seat.

“Now then, what's this about?” Peter asked.

“Mr. and Mrs. Peterson, I represent Patheon on behalf of Edward Szyman.”

“And what does that have to do with Ryudo?”

How could Hanley put this in a nice way? He wanted to say your son's an asshole and blocking major businesses from completing tasks because he's a fur lover. But that would probably lead to a black eye and a bloody nose.

“Mr. Szyman would appreciate it greatly if you would talk to your son about his current occupation.”

“He's his own man mister..”

“Marshall, Hanley Marshall.”

“We don't like it any more than you do. But its what he wanted to do,” Doris said.

“But isn't your name being drug through the ground?”

“It is to a certain degree, but we've got damage control,” Doris replied.

“If we offered you a partnership right now, would you get your son to step down?”

Peter and Doris looked at each other in a bit of shock and confusion.

“By step down, you mean retire?” Peter asked.

“Yes.”

Peter laughed at that as Doris giggled.

“Sorry about that. No matter what you offer, there is no way in hell he'll step down. Being a hybrid doctor is what he wants to do and we can't stop him, only support him.”

“Be reasonable Mr. Peterson. Businesses all over are losing money because of your son's decisions.”

“We seem to be doing fine,” Peter said with a shrug.

“That's not the point.” Hanley said, gritting his teeth.

He was starting to see where the little punk got his attitude from.

“Look, we both want what's best. I don't want anything to happen to your son because of his decision to help hybrids and hinder businesses.”

Peter narrowed his eyes at that remark, leaning forward in the chair he was sitting on.

“That sounded like a threat. Let me tell you this right now. If ANYTHING happens to my son, I will come at you and your boss with everything I have.”

“Mr. Peterson....”

“This discussion is over. Get the hell out before I throw you out.”

Hanley sighed inwardly, not wanting to invoke any more anger as he stood up fixing his tie. Digging in his pocket, he produced a business card before placing it on the table.

“Very well. If you change your mind and want to make a deal, please give me a call. That's a direct line to my phone. I'm sorry we couldn't see eye to eye. Have a pleasant day.”

Hanley left the room, taking the stairs down before exiting. Ronald was waiting for him at the curb, opening the door for him.

“Where to sir?”

“The hotel. It's getting late and I'm out of ideas.”

The limo pulled off with ease as Hanley closed his eyes.

“Oh well, I tried. Whatever happens is on them.

/////

Kelley let out a sigh as he left the hotel room for the lobby. It had been a taxing couple of days with the attempted murder of his family and speaking to all the potential supporters. It wouldn't hurt to have a few more just in case. Years of hard work would finally pay off. He'd always dreamed of this day and now it was going to happen. Lilly held his hand in the elevator with a happy wag to her tail.

“This is it love. Once the president gets back from his conference, he'll sign the bill and you'll be free.”

Lilly smiled at that feeling Sonya play her with tail as she giggled happily. Trevor was waiting for them at the front desk with a smile.

“Ready to go make history Kelley?”

“You're damn right I am.”

“Then lets get going. Your ride is waiting for you.”

Kelley followed them outside into the cool night air, briefcase in hand containing everything he needed to get the bill passed. The stars were bright in the sky, surrounding a crescent. Issac opened the door for them as they huddled into the vehicle. Drew put the car in motion and headed for the airport.

“April said she'll meet you at the airport,” Trevor spoke up from the front seat.

“Typical. I swear that girl is way too hyper,” Kelley chuckled.

Sonya was cuddled up next to Lilly as she nuzzled her happily. All the hybrids looked on with a smile.

“She's really attached to you huh?” Damon asked.

“Uh huh. This is my new mommy,” Sonya giggled making everybody laugh.

They stopped at a light as Drew looked in the rear-view mirror. Something caught his attention in the back which didn't seem right. The light turned green as he pulled off, eyes darting up to see two black Jeeps about four cars down.

“Boss, we got company,” Drew said softly.

Trevor's ears perked as he looked at the passenger mirror, seeing what Drew was talking about.

“Keep driving. We'll let them make the first move.”

Drew nodded as he kept driving. Pretty soon, they came to a construction zone with a man directing them to the right as Drew rolled the window down a crack.

“Road's out ahead. Power lines down on the street so take this detour.”

“Thanks,” Drew said, taking a right before shaking his head. “Oldest trick in the book.”

Halfway down, they were about to pass an empty parking lot when lights came on from cars parked there as Trevor and Drew's eyes went wide.

“Get down!!” Trevor barked.

Everybody ducked down as bullets riddled the vehicle. Luckily it was bullet proof as Drew gunned it down the street.

“Head for that warehouse. We'll lose them in the dark,” Trevor said.

Drew headed for the target, not even stopping as he rammed through the garage doors and came to a stop next to a pole.

“Everyone out! Hurry!” Trevor said getting out.

They all got out and headed for cover behind a huge row of boxes. Pretty soon they heard the sound of footsteps coming towards the entrance they made.

“Mr. Gold? I'm giving you the chance right now to surrender. All we want is that briefcase. It's a simple trade right?”

All the hybrids ears were at full attention as they weaved easily through the dark guiding Kelley, Lilly, and Sonya to a safe hiding place.

“This doesn't have to end badly for you. We'll even spare the mongrels you are with.”

Trevor pointed up as Drew nodded his head, climbing the shelf silently with ease and peering over the side. His eyes darted, counting the people after them. He jumped down without making a sound and kneeling next to Trevor.

“I counted about twelve. Two by two cover formation. Standard issue MP's with tac lights attached to them. Not that it'll do them any good.”

“What do we do?” Kelley asked.

Trevor gave a grin before nodding to all three of them. They nodded their heads and started to strip nude. Lilly blushed and covered Sonya's eyes. Kelley raised an eyebrow at their actions.

“Care to fill me in?” Kelley said.

“Clothes hinder our movement,” Damon said, folding his pants.

“And what do you plan to do?”

“We're going to hunt our prey,” Trevor grinned, showing his sharp teeth as they disappeared into the darkness, leaving only their eyes shining.

The hired hands stalked through the warehouse, guns at high ready. Kelley was not to be harmed but the hybrids were fair game. Shoot to kill and say the the hybrids were ready to attack and they defended themselves. A clank echoed through the warehouse making everybody stand at the ready, light sweeping the area.

“Stay frosty people. These are nothing but dumb hybrids. Keep Kelley alive.”

A pair of yellow eyes watched from the darkness before disappearing. Two gunmen walked around a tall shelf of pallets, guns ready for anything but found nothing as they sighed a little. That was a mistake as those same eyes appeared behind them, teeth gleaming in the darkness. A paw reached out and pulled one of them into the darkness with a muffed yell. His partner turned quickly only to find he was by himself.

Backing up, he swept left and right, finger on the trigger. Paper rustled to his left as he fired a few rounds, destroying the boxes on the shelf. He let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding and turned to his right. The only thing he saw was a pair of yellow eyes and glistening teeth. He wanted to yell, but it was cut short as his neck was quickly cut, blood gushing out as he dropped to the ground.

Damon stood on top of the shelf, his different color eyes watching the movement of the four people underneath him. They separated into a group, two going let and two going right. He picked the object next to him, which was a metal rod. Standing up, he took aim before tossing the rod down as it impaled one of them through the head.

“Holy shit! Man down!”

The other two came running around and looked at their fallen comrade. Damon grinned as he jumped down, claws extended. They heard him and looked up, only for two of them to have their throats cut. The last one had a clear shot, but Damon was quicker on his paws. The guy took aim, but Damon grabbed the gun and pushed it back into his face, stunning him for a brief second. That was all he needed as he flipped him on his back and with a quick twist, snapped his neck.

Gunshots echoed out as Drew ducked underneath a shelf. His green eyes shining brightly before he closed them and went perfectly still as his attackers rushed by him.

“I think I hit him. I'm sure I did.”

“Well then let's find him and put him down. Enough of this hide and go seek bullshit.”

Drew looked at his arm and saw he only got a flesh wound and chuckled.

Well, girls do dig battle scars.”

His ears picked up their footsteps as he crawled underneath shelf to see them pass by him. With a grin, he rolled back out and inched up behind them. Claws out, he reached around and gave them each a joker smile across their throats.

“Forgive me,” he said with a small bow of his head before slinking back into the darkness.

Trevor's tail twitched as he watched the two gunman circle his position. He had to wait for the right moment. He closed his eyes just as they rounded the corner.

“I don't see anything. Did we miss them?”

“I don't know. Can't see shit.”

Trevor opened his eyes slowly, seeing them right in front of him with their backs turned. He gave a smile before reaching out slowly before slicing the man on the right leg making him yell in shock as he fired a burst of rounds into the air. The other man turned around, only to have his eyes slashed making him fire blindly and putting holes in his comrade. He emptied the clip before tossing the gun down and pulling out a knife, swinging blindly.

“You fucking mutt. If you come close to me I'll skin you alive.”

Trevor appeared behind him with a smile. He grabbed the arm that was failing about and thrusting it towards his chest, right in the heart. The man went stiff quickly before getting lowered slowly on the floor, arms crossed across his chest.

“All units report. Any sign of Kelley?”

Muffled screams before nothing then trying again. He tried again.

“All units report, damn it!”

The man looked around in the darkness, the quiet static over the radio the only thing he could heard. A chill ran up his spine, as if something or someone was watching him. He swallowed heavily before starting to backtrack out of the hole in the wall. He was almost home free before bumping into something heavy. He turned around slowly, seeing the bulking image of Issac that was looking at him with an evil smile.

“Things didn't work out how you planned huh?” he said with a growl.

The man started to sweat as he backed away from Issac only to bump into Kelley who smiled before getting surrounded by Trevor, Damon, and Drew.

“Well boys, what should we do with him?”

“Can he run away? I love my prey on the run,” Issac said with a deep growl.

“Please......please don't hurt me. I was just doing my job,” the man said, trembling hard.

“Who sent you?”

“I can't say. I'm a dead man if I do.”

Damon let out a growl before approaching him, claws extending and taking a swing, ripping his shirt and leaving three claw marks on his chest.

“Either that or I leave you alone with all four of them.”

All the hybrids let out a menacing snarl making him tremble and cry.

“Okay, okay, I'll tell you. Please don't hurt me.”

“Start talking,” Trevor growled.

“The person who hired me was...”

He was about to spill the beans when he held his chest and start to hyper ventilate. He started coughing before going to both knees, taking deep gasping breaths, trying to fill his lungs with air. Eyes rolling into the back of his head, he drops to the ground motionless. Everybody looked at him in confusion.

“What just happened?” Drew asked.

Trevor walked over and knelt down and took a couple of sniffs.

“Smells like.....poison.”

He frisked his body before finding a small dart on his back. His eyes scanned the outside before seeing a shadow disappear from the rooftops.

“He's been assassinated. Poison dart to the back.”

“Are people that desperate to stop us from being free?” Lilly asked softly.

Kelley looked at her before holding her close.

“Humans are scum Lilly. They'll do anything to keep the little people down. But with this bill, that will end. It may not take effect right away, but it's a step in the right direction.”

Lilly nodded before looking at Trevor who was staring out into the dark night.

“As much as I enjoy the free show boys, shouldn't we be going?” she chuckled.

All the hybrids went red, covering themselves before rushing to get their clothes as Lilly and Kelley laughed. Sonya walked over and pulled Lilly's tail softly.

“Is it safe now Lilly?”

Lilly nodded her head before picking her up and hugging her, making her giggle and smile.

Trevor and the rest came back fully clothed as they got their ride back out into the street.

“Next stop, airport,” Drew said, putting the car in gear.

Trevor looked in the mirror, his eyes scanning the area until he saw a shadow on a roof watching them leave.

Who the hell is that guy?”

Ginger let out a sigh as she walked into her hotel room, tossing the card onto the table.

“God, did that ever suck. No wonder Hanley wanted dirt on her.”

She thought back to the email she got, asking her to help bring down a certain news anchor. That would've been easy if she had Rose with her. Rose knew how to get around certain areas without being seen. God she missed that fluffy feline. With a sigh, she went into the bedroom and grabbed a pair of white panties and bra before heading to the shower.

“Maybe I should apologize? I was being a bitch to her.”

She let the water cascade down her body, washing herself clean and letting that single tear get mixed in with the water. Turning the shower off, she dried herself down, wrapping a towel around her hair and tossing a robe on. She walked out to the living room and took a seat on the couch, her eyes looking out to the half moon in the clear night sky.

“I wonder how she is doing?”

She got up and went to her purse, grabbing the ear piece before her stomach growled. She walked over to the dinner cart that was still there, wondering if it was still warm as she pulled the cover off. A wire attached to the dome like cover was pulled out of a jack on a timer unit attached to a brick of plastic explosive, arming the device. A click got her attention as she looked at the plate and found a bomb that started to count down from five minutes.

“Oh shit!!”

She hurried to the front door, only to find it jammed from the outside. Someone had followed her. She pulled on the handle with all her might to new avail. Hurrying to the phone, she tried that only to find the line cut. Ginger grabbed her cell phone, only to find the signal jammed. No service. She could call 911, but they wouldn't be able to get there in the few minutes the ticking time bomb in the room afforded her. She took a quick peek out the window to see the adjacent room in jumping distance, but her executioners had taken every possible precaution to make sure that she was trapped. The patio doors were sealed shut. She grabbed a chair and hurled it at the glass, but it simply bounced the chair back at her without so much as a scratch. She turned around. Two minutes left.

“HELP!!” she screamed, pounding on the walls, trying to alert anyone one in the adjacent room, but none came to her aid. Perhaps they'd cleared the rooms near hers to avoid any collateral damage. Ninety seconds remained. Out of breath and heaving, Ginger grabbed the earpiece she used to communicate with her hybrid.

“Guess this is karma coming back to bite me?” she turned the upset chair back on its legs and sat down.

Opening her palm, she held the earpiece and put it in before tapping it. She heard static for a bit before hearing that joyful voice of Rose again.

Ginger!! I never thought you would call me again!” Rose said happily, putting her own earpiece in.

“Hey girlfriend,” Ginger said softly. “How've you been?”

Okay I guess. This Ryudo person is pretty interesting. He allowed me to stay after our.....break up,” Rose said softly.

“I'm so sorry about that Rose. You don't know how badly I messed up. But I'm happy you are being taken care of.”

There was silence over the other end for a second.

Is everything okay Ginger? You sound.....stressed.”

“I'm fine silly cat. Just tired,” Ginger said, looking at the timer which read one minute. “Been a long day.”

Where are you? Are you someplace close?”

“I'm in Florissant. You've never been here.”

I'm jealous of you. But then again, without you, I wouldn't be who I am today. So thank you for everything.”

Ginger started to cry now as the timer breached the forty five second mark.

“Rose, I'm so sorry for everything. If I could take it all back, I would.”

It's okay. You know I saw you article in the paper. Ryudo showed it to me.”

“Yeah?” Ginger smiled. At least she was going to have some kind of legacy. Even if it only mattered to Rose.

Yeah. I liked it. I'm really proud of you.”

Thirty seconds. Ginger pursed her lips, trying not to sob.

“Rose, I want you promise me something...promise me this Ryudo will take good care of you. I want to believe what I wrote about him, that he's a good person, and that he'll keep you safe.”

Yeah, no worries. I promise. He's a good guy. He'd have to be to do what he does, what, with the hospital and all.”

Ginger's frame shook and her lips trembled.

“Okay.”

Ginger? Ginger what's wrong? You've never spoken like this before,” Rose said confusedly.

The timer clicked down to ten seconds as she closed her eyes and take a deep breath.

Ginger? Ginger, say something.”

“Good bye Rose.”

//////

Ryudo pulled into the driveway with a sigh. It's been a long day and all he wanted was some tea and to cuddle up with Gail. Opening the door, he took off his shoes and walked into the living room where the TV was on and the new was playing. Rose was watching it in the dark, tears streaming down her cheeks non stop. Gail was by her side trying to comfort her the best he could.

“What's wrong?” Ryudo asked.

“They killed her...” Rose sobbed.

“Who?”

Ryudo looked at the news lady speaking before turning the volume up.

.....explosion here at The Chateau Hotel in Florissant. We're getting reports of dozens of people injured. No word on how many are dead. The bomb apparently was set off in the room of a Ginger Grey. A thirty year old freelance journalist who....”

Ryudo turned the volume off again as Rose cried harder.

“I'm going to make them pay. I'll make them all pay!” she snarled angrily through tears.

“Who are they?” Ryudo asked.

“I don't know. But I think a person named Hanley is involved somehow.”

Ryudo went wide eyed for a second before looking out the window. Was this in retaliation for the newspaper article she did? Jesus, are people that hung up on denying hybrids a taste of freedom? He wondered. He let out a sigh before walking into the kitchen and putting a kettle of water on the burner. Once the water was boiling, he poured three cups of tea before coming back into the living room and handing one cup to Gail and the other to Rose.

“Saying sorry never helps, but I'm sorry,” Ryudo said softly.

Rose didn't say anything as she just stared down into the cup, tears dripping into it. Gail didn't know what to do as he took small sips, ears drooped and tail sagged.

“I'm.....going to head upstairs to bed,” he said, finishing his tea and leaving them alone.

Once Gail was upstairs, Ryudo looked at her. He finished his tea before setting his cup down on the table and getting up. He walked over to Rose and sat next to her. Reaching over, he lifted the cup of tea to her muzzle and slowly made her drink it.

“I know it may feel like the end of the world. That everybody is against you. But as long as you are still living and breathing, you win. They may take away your possessions, your loved ones, even your family. But never, ever let them see you weak. The moment they do, they win.”

She looked at him through red, blood shot eyes.

“I know what it's like to have a love one taken from you. It's hurts deeply, almost to the point that you don't want to live.”

“How do you cope? How do you deal with people bringing you down everyday?”

“By living. As long as I'm alive, they lose. Ginger knew the dangers, but she faced them head on with you at her side. Never forget the happiness you both brought to each other.”

Rose lunged into Ryudo chest, mewling sadly as tears ran down her cheeks. He held her softly, letting her cry freely as he rubbed her back. The only light in the room came from the TV. After a while, she settled down as Ryudo cradled her in his lap. She had her ear to his chest as she listened to his steady heart beat which seem to calm her down a bit.

“Feel better somewhat?” Ryudo asked.

“A little,” she said softly. “I feel so alone now. She was the only human that treated me like an equal. She knew everything about me and I knew everything about her.”

“You're never alone. She'll always be right here,” Ryudo said, placing his hand over her heart.

“I know. I just can't believe they killed her.”

The front door opened as Shelly walked in, tail wagging happily as Nick followed her. They looked at the scene in the living room in confusion.

“What's going on?” Shelley asked.

“They killed her friend and previous owner Ginger. Bomb in the hotel room,” Ryudo said, nodding his head towards the TV.

Shelley let out a gasp before holding her paws together.

“Oh Rose. I'm so sorry.”

Rose was quiet, only responding with a slight nod.

“Sorry for bringing it up again. We're going down to my room,” Shelley said, taking Nick by the paw and heading for the basement door and closing it softly.

They sat together on the couch, the glow of the TV shining in Ryudo's eyes as he looked at it. Reaching over, he grabbed the remote and turned it off with a sigh. He was about to get up when she clung tightly to his shirt and shook her head softly.

“Please don't leave me alone. Not right now.”

“Okay,” Ryudo said softly.

He laid down on the couch with Rose in tow as she buried her face into chest. His hand rubbed her back up and down softly, emitting a purr as she settled down and fell asleep. Gail looked down from the top of the stairs.

“Is she going to be okay?” he asked.

“She's a lot stronger than you think. She'll be fine. Just go easy on her.”

“Should I bring down a blanket for you?”

“If you could.”

Gail nodded before heading back upstairs, coming down a few moments later with a blanket. Ryudo grabbed it and tossed it over them.”

“Thanks stripy,” Ryudo said with a smile

Gail nodded, leaning down and giving him a deep kiss with a murr.

“Sleep well,” Gail whispered, giving him a lick on the cheek making him chuckle.

Ryudo looked down a Rose as a few tears managed to roll down her cheek in her sleep. Leaning over, he gave her a kiss on the forehead making her whimper and grip him harder.

“Ginger,” she said softly.

Ryudo closed his eyes with a sigh. So this is what it comes down to huh? Big businesses doing anything to make a buck and getting rid of the things holding them down. Another sigh left him as he finally let sleep take him.

Roman woke up early, eyes sweeping left and right as he walked into the field. The sun was just about to rise in the west as a small mist formed over the crops. So far he didn't know what he was looking for. This was starting to make him worry. If he couldn't find anything that this Szyman could use, he would never see Kaisl again.

What am I looking for? So far I don't see anything out of the ordinary. If I start asking questions, they might get wind of me.”

So far he'd been to almost every place on the farm except way in the back. He'd seen supply trucks come and go and wanted to know what was back there. Maybe he could take a chance now? Nobody from the morning crew was around at the moment, so he made his way up to the north part of the farm. In the distance was a silo in an open field.

I wonder what's in there?”

He made his way towards the silo, staring off in the distance at the cardboard targets full of holes. Walking to the door, he tried the handle to find it was unlocked and walked in. A weird scent caught his nose as he looked around the Quick Reaction Force barracks, smaller than the main ones, and full of the best soldiers Davenport Ranch had to offer.

Alright, what's so special about this place?”

He had to be quiet as he looked around. Hybrids were still asleep in their bunks. So far nothing seem out of the ordinary until he came to a locked door. He twisted the handle hoping it would open but was unlucky.

“Hey Wade, you going to do that count to see what we're missing before breakfast?” A voice said down the hall making Roman tense up.

“Yeah. Give me a call when it gets here.”

Roman hid quickly behind a corner. A few moments later, a man came walking down the hall and stopped at the door, clip board in hand as he unlocked it and walked in. Roman waited for a bit, looking both ways before following him in.

What the hell?”

Roman looked around to see guns enough for a small army. So that's where the weird scent was coming from. It would also explain the numerous hole in the targets outside. What kind of farm was this? Was this what Szyman wanted in return to getting Kaisl out of jail?

“What are they planning to do with all these?”

“Wouldn't you like to know?” A voice said behind him.

Roman let out a grunt as he was grabbed from behind by the neck and dragged outside. A yelp escaped him as he was slammed on the wall. Something cold was pressed to the side of his head along with a mechanical click.

“You got five seconds to explain why you're poking your nose around here or curiosity will kill this cat,” a rather large weasel said.

Roman was to scared to speak, seeing the gun pointed at his head.

“Jake, what's going on?” Wade said walking out.

“I caught him snooping around Wade.”

Wade looked at him with a frown..

“Aren't you that new hybrid that was brought here couple days ago?”

“Y....yes sir.”

“I see. Jake, finish counting. You, come with me.”

Roman only nodded as he followed Wade to the nearby car and got in. The sun was rising as he saw all the hybrids up and about doing their chores. Wade stopped at the house and told him to get out and follow him. They walked in after knocking as Mary was cooking breakfast. Jim was sitting at the table drinking coffee and looked up.

“What's up Wade?”

“This one was snooping around the armory,” Wade said before leaving.

Roman stood in the doorway as Jim looked at him, taking a sip of coffee.

“Roman right?”

“Yes sir.”

“Sit.”

Roman took a seat, ears folded and eyes glued down at the table.

“So. Who sent you?”

“A man named Szyman sir.”

“Figured as much. He's trying every trick in the book to get me to sell. Now he's using hybrids to spy on me. I have to say, I didn't expect that. My hat's off to him.”

“I'm sorry.”

Mary handed Jim a plate of eggs, bacon, and toast as Jim thanked her. He ate in silence, taking a glance at Roman once in a while.

“Why are you really here?”

“To find anything on this farm that Szyman can use.”

“And you found something, wouldn't you say?”

Roman only nodded weakly. Now he was never going to see Kaisl again.

“What did he promise you?”

“To free my owner and lover from jail.”

“You do realize that was an empty promise right?”

“But he said he would. He promised Kaisl would be by my side again.”

Jim shook his head, wiping his mouth with a napkin.

“Son, you owner's in jail and more than likely, will not get a fair trial for being what he is. That's just the way things go. Szyman doesn't give a damn about anything but money. That is who he is and will always be.”

Roman let out a sniff, a single tear hitting the table.

“Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.”

“I just wish I could do something. I feel so helpless.”

“There's nothing you can do. You can only hope and pray that he doesn't get shanked. People don't like fur lovers.”

“Why couldn't they just leave us alone? We weren't bothering anybody.”

“Thank you Mary, wonderful as always,” Jim smiled as Mary took his plate. “Now then, what shall I do with you?”

Roman didn't say anything. There was nothing he could say after all. From what Jim was telling him, it would take nothing short of a miracle to see and hold Kaisl again.

“Do you like it here?” Jim asked, puffing on a cigarette before dropping the ash in a tray.

“Yes sir. Everybody's friendly and its a lot of fun.”

“Good to hear. I believe in second chances, not third. You get me?”

Roman nodded his head.

“Good. Go get your chores done and lets forget this ever happened.”

“Yes sir,” Roman said, getting up and leaving.

Mary looked at Jim who blew out a trail of smoke.

“I feel sorry for him. To be used like that is truly disgusting,” Mary snorted.

“So do I. But people will do anything to see their loved ones again,” Jim answered softly, remembering his wife.

“Is there anything you can do to help him?”

Jim looked at her before out the window.

“Doubt it. But I'll try and call in a few favors.”

Hanley was livid as he entered Patheon. He got up to the conference room where everybody was talking away. Joyce saw him take a seat. She could she the anger in his eyes just waiting to be unleashed to the first person that did something wrong. The projection screen came down after a few minutes as everyone went quiet. Szyman appeared, leaning on his desk with a glass of brandy.

Good afternoon everybody.”

“Good afternoon.”

I hope everyone is well?”

Everybody nodded except for Hanley who stared daggers at him.

Are there any concerns on the table?” Szyman asked.

“Yeah,” Hanley spoke up tossing the paper on the table with the headline: Bomb kills ten and injuries several. “What are you playing at?”

Excuse me?”

“Don't play dumb. You had Ginger killed.”

Szyman tapped his finger on his chin before snapping.

Oh her? Right. I had nothing to do with that.”

“Bullshit. She was a good friend of mine for five years. You should've let me handle her.”

She failed in her job and printed something unforgivable to make us look like the bad guys. I'm not a bad guy and will not tolerate being belittled by a nobody.”

“That doesn't give you the right to play God.”

Everybody looked at Hanley before moving away slowly. He was confused until he looked down and saw the red dot aimed for his heart.

“What? You going to have your pet kill me too?”

I only kill worthless people. You are not worthless. Leave him be, Psi.”

The red dot disappeared making everybody relax some.

Now then, how was your chat with that Peterson kid?” Szyman asked, sipping his brandy.

“He won't listen to reason. His mind set is hybrids first, everything else second. Parents won't help either, claiming he's his own man and will support him with what ever he does.”

I see. I want to speak to him now. Call up this hospital, Joyce.”

Joyce nodded before looking up the number and dialing it on the conference speaker phone.

Express Scripts Hybrid Hospital. How may I direct your call?”

“Yes, I want to speak to Dr. Peterson. This is Edward Szyman of Patheon.”

One second sir.”

It didn't take long for a response as Ryudo picked up.

Dr. Peterson speaking. How can I help you?”

“Dr. Peterson? This is Edward Szyman from....”

What do you want? I'm busy.”

Edward looked stunned by that before recollecting himself.

“I've come to make you a great deal. A deal I'm sure you will find beneficial to you and your significant others.”

Not interested.”

“You don't even know what it is yet.”

Your flunkie Hanley already tried to win me over. Next time, speak to me face to face so I can tell you what I told him.”

Szyman balled his fists after slamming the glass down on his desk.

“Listen you little shit. I'm the last person you want on your bad side,” Szyman spat out before he heard the dial tone. “That bastard hung up on me.”

“Now you know what I went through,” Hanley muttered.

“So what do we do about him? We have another client wanting their building done soon but we don't have the hybrids to do it because of this ass,” Ivory said.

Szyman was quiet, tapping his ring finger on the underside of the desk.

“I'll figure something out. In the meantime, let's try and do what we can to keep our clients happy. I know that's a tall order, but I didn't hire any of you for your looks. Use that brain matter and talk to them. This meeting is over.”

Szyman stood there looking at the blank screen, anger in his eyes. That little bastard is getting to be a real pain in his ass. His cell vibrated in his pocket as he pulled it out and looked at the ID.

“Well?” he said.

You should've let me kill him.”

“Now now Psi. You can't kill everybody that speaks mean. What's the word on Kelley?”

Your hired guns failed and one of them almost ratted you out but I took care of him with a dart to the back. Why couldn't you have sent me?”

“You do enough for me Psi. That's why you are a cleaner. You clean up other people's mistakes. But keep your phone handy. I may have you pay a visit to this Peterson kid and give him a little demonstration of why you shouldn't cross me.”

I understand. What are you going to do about Kelley? The president gets back from his conference in a week.”

Szyman thought about it for a bit. Once the president does come back, it back to the stock market for me.

“A week is plenty of time to destroy that list. Have faith.”

I understand. I await your call,” Psi said before hanging up.

Szyman hung up and plopped the phone back in his pocket. He had one week to get that list. With a grunt, he took a seat and dug through his list of names.

Kelley sat in the jet, his eyes closed as he couldn't wait to get back to Washington. The time for hybrid freedom was soon to come. He heard a sigh next to him and looked to see Lilly sound asleep, a smile on her muzzle as she cuddled her muzzle under his chin. Sonya was playing with Drew's tail as it tickled her chin making her giggle with joy.

“Where do you want to go when we land Kelley?” Trevor asked, drinking some water.

“Home. We have a week to bunker down and wait for them to come after me, which I know they will. I just wish I knew who was after me.”

“Could be all the against the bill. But we're talking about almost eighty percent of the country.”

“I'm almost at the finish line. I refuse to cave in now.”

The jet shook lightly as the captain came over the speaker.

“Mr. Congressman, we're coming into some heavy turbulence. Please buckle in.

Kelley buckled himself in as Drew did the same thing for Sonya. Pretty soon, the airport came into view and landing gear came out. Looking out the window, Kelley saw the horde of people around the landing zone just waiting to mob him.

“Looks like the hounds are out,” Issac said.

“Indeed,” Kelley replied.

Once the jet landed and the stairs were lowered, Trevor and company went out first, keeping the mob of people at bay as they shouted and clicked away.

“Congressman, do you realize that you are making a big mistake?”

“Why do care about those things?”

“I hope fucking die in a pit you fucking fur lover. God will have no mercy on your soul.”

Lilly folded her ears as people yelled and made rude gestures. Luckily, police presence kept things from getting uglier. Damon opened the limo door as everybody huddled in. Once inside, objects were tossed, crashing and rattling against the car's body. Drew rolled down the partition and looked back.

“The fans love you,” he joked.

“I'm mister popular. Let's get going.”

Drew nodded as he pulled the limo out, hearing the yells slowly fade away. Sonya pulled on Kelley's arm as he looked at her.

“Daddy, why do people hate Lilly?”

“Because people are simple minded honey. They don't care about anything but themselves.”

“Will they ever like Lilly?”

“As long as you and I love Lilly, they rest of them can go to hell.”

Sonya smiled before cuddling into Kelley's chest as he kissed her forehead and held her close. They drove in silence until their home came into view. Kelley looked at it in shock and anger. Even the hybrids were in shock at what they saw. The house was a wreck. Windows were smashed and the walls sprayed painted with words like 'fur fucker' and 'human traitor'.

“Issac, Damon, go check it out.”

They nodded before getting out and heading to the house. Trevor looked at Kelley, his eyes showing no kind of emotion.

“I'm sorry,” Trevor said softly.

“It's just a house. Houses can be replaced.”

Issac came out a few minutes later and nodded his head as everybody got out and went inside. The house was in shambles. Things were tossed every which way making them step over to avoid falling. The living room was a sight. The couch was slashed showing the stuffing. Pictures that were hung on the wall, now laid on the floor with the frame cracked. He could tell they stole almost everything valuable. Reaching down, he picked up a small picture that showed him, Lilly, Sonya, and his late wife. He heard Lilly sniff softly as she sat on the couch.

“Why go this far? I don't understand why humans do this.”

Kelley walked over and kneeled in front of her, hand on her knee, which he rubbed softly.

“Don't let them get to you love.”

“It doesn't matter if they do or they don't. We'll never be free, even with the bill passed. Maybe this was a waste of time.”

“Don't ever say that,” Kelley said, a hint of anger. “People are babies and want everything handed to them on a sliver platter. They don't want to work for anything. That's why half this country is fat and lazy.”

He lifted her chin and gave her a soft kiss.

“You're letting the stress get to you. It should be getting to me. Just relax love. In a week, the bill is signed.”

She sighed before nodding her head. He gave her another kiss before standing up. Walking up the stairs, he went to Sonya's room which was trashed also. Drew was there helping her pick up stuff.

“They destroyed all my stuff daddy,” Sonya said sadly, holding up her teddy bear which was given to her by her mother. It was missing an arm and an eye.

“I know baby. I promise that I'll get you new and better stuff,” Kelley said, kissing her forehead as his cell rang. “Thanks for helping her Drew.”

“No problem,” Drew smiled.

Kelley left the room, reaching into his pocket and looking at the ID which said private number.

“Hello?”

Did you get our message Congressman?” the voice said in a robotic voice.

“Yes I did. But it's not going to stop me. Hybrids will get their freedom.”

We'll see,” the voice said before hanging up.

Kelley hung up before balling his fists. It was game time from here on out.

//////

Ryudo sat at his desk, pen in hand as he did his paperwork. Everyone had gone home for the day, but he wanted to sign off on a couple of things before heading home. A few hybrids needed surgery and he finally got the means to do it. He signed on the last line before stretching with a moan.

“God, it's almost seven. Thank god this is the last one.”

Gathering the papers and his jacket, he walked out his office waving to the custodian.

“Finally heading home Ryudo?” the sheep dog said.

“Yep. Got all the papers signed that I needed.”

“Cool. Have a good night.”

“You too Anthony.”

Ryudo went to the front, making sure the nurses knew what was going on with the patients before leaving. Hitting the lobby floor, he walked out the revolving doors and towards his car. Hopping in, he let out a sigh, leaning his head on the back.

“God, I need some tea.”

Driving home didn't take long as the traffic lights were with him. He pulled into his driveway as the living room lights were on. Getting out, he approached the front door as it opened automatically with Gail jumping into Ryudo's arms.

“Haha, hey stripy.”

“Hey Ryudo,” Gail murred happily, inhaling the scent that he loved so much.

“Everything okay?”

He nodded his head as Ryudo took off his shoes. Walking to the front, he saw Rose and Shelly laughing together with Nick on the couch as they looked at him.

“Welcome back Ryudo,” they all said together.

“Hey. Feeling better Rose?” Ryudo asked.

“A little. But I know Ginger wouldn't want me to be sad all my life. Besides, I have new friends and a new life thanks to you.”

“You are quite welcome. Now if you'll excuse me. I need a shower and a nice cup of tea. Stripy, you mind putting some water on for me?”

Gail nodded, heading into the kitchen as Ryudo took the stairs up to his room. Grabbing a pair of boxers, he went to the bathroom and started up the shower. Once he saw the steam, he hopped in and got clean.

“Oh boy, did I need that. Now for that cup of tea,” Ryudo said, drying off and putting on his night clothes.

Gail had his cup of tea on the table as all of them were laughing together on the couch. He looked at them with a smile. Why can't people see hybrids for what they truly are? Loving and caring people. Who cares if they have fur and a tail. We all have the same color blood pumping through our veins.

“Don't stay up to late. I'm going to lay down. Had a long couple of days,” Ryudo said, washing his cup in the sink.

A yawn escaped him as he plopped himself down on the comfy bed and under the covers, looking up at the ceiling. His mind was going over the conversations with Hanley and Szyman. If they got rid of Ginger, would they try the same thing with him?

“Better keep my guard up. No telling what they might try next.”

His door opened and closed, hearing the soft sound of clothing dropping to the ground. Pretty soon, he felt that familiar fur come under the covers as Gail crawled on top of him with a murr. Their lips met softly as Ryudo held him close, a murr escaping from Gail as his tail wagged.

“You seemed a little down. So I figured I'd come and cheer you up.”

“And it worked. Thanks stripy.”

“Mmm, you can thank me by giving me what I want,” he growled lustfully.

“And what would that be?” Ryudo grinned.

Gail nipped his nose playfully before siting up, tossing the covers off the both of them. Reaching down, he pulled Ryudo boxers off and tossed them over his back. Now, they were both nude as Gail reached down and grabbed both of their hard cocks in his hand and stroked them together making them shiver.

“God Gail, your paws are still so damn soft,” Ryudo panted.

“Good.”

Gail could feel the pre leak out and coat his paws, making the friction between them slicker.

“I can feel you pulsing Ryudo. Are you close already?” Gail said, eyes half lidded.

“It....has been a.....while.”

“Well, we can't have that can we?”

Gail let them both go as Ryudo's cock flopped down onto his groin with a plop. Ryudo watched as Gail moved down his body, giving soft lick to his stomach making him twitch. A puff of warm air made his cock twitch before a moan escape him, feeling that rough tongue tickle his head.

“Wow, really sensitive aren't you? I'm going to enjoy teasing you.”

“You do and you'll regret it.”

“I like the sound of that.”

Gail gripped him softly, giving him a few more strokes before trailing his tongue from the base to the tip. Once at the top, he took him slowly in him muzzle making Ryudo gasp and grip the bed hard.

“Fuck.”

Gail moaned happily, tasting the pre he was milking out with joy. He started his motions before his ears perked up. He let go with a slurp before looking at the door. Ryudo looked at him curiously.

“Why'd you...”

Before he could finish, Gail got off the bed and slipped quietly to the door. Grabbing the handle, he twisted it quickly and opened it causing Rose to tumble in. Ryudo turned on the lamp by the bed and looked at Rose in shock.

“Rose? What are you doing?” Ryudo said, covering himself up with the covers.

Rose sat up, blushing heavily and averting her eyes.

“Umm....”

Gail looked at her before grinning as this time it was his turn to tease her. He walked over, cock hard and dripping before removing the covers.

“What's wrong Rose? You wanted to know how big he was. Well, take a look.”

“Umm, Gail...”

“Come on Rose, take a good long look.”

Rose hesitated before turning her head around. Gail had Ryudo's penis in his paw which was stroking up and down at a tantalizing rate. Her ears folded and looked into Ryudo's eyes which was just as confused as she was.

“Well, come closer.”

She didn't move at first, still looking into Ryudo's eyes which didn't show any anger or refusal. Slowly, she got up and walked forward. The scent of musk started to fill her nose making her head a little cloudy.

“It looks.....weird.”

“Gee, thanks,” Ryudo said, trying to stop his hips from bucking but Gail's paws were too soft to resist.

“And it tastes great,” Gail murred, leaning down and giving it a quick suckle making Ryudo gasp.

“Can......I try?”

“Are you sure that is what you want?” Ryudo asked, leaning up on his elbows.

Rose didn't respond for a few seconds, eyes still glued to that throbbing piece of meat Gail was nursing.

“If.....you don't.....mind.”

Ryudo hesitated but nodded his head. Gail let go with a slurp and moved aside as Rose climbed onto the bed, crawling between his legs. With a shaky paw, she reached out and gently grasp his cock making Ryudo tense from the softness. His scent filled her nose making her inside tremble with untold excitement. Slowly, she leaned down, rough pink tongue out as she took her first taste of human meat.

“Nice huh?” Gail murred.

She didn't say anything as she took it slowly in her mouth. Ryudo grunted as the slick mouth enveloped him. She couldn't take it all as she gagged around it before easing back.

“Don't rush.....yourself.”

She didn't respond, only going a bit faster with each trip up. Gail watched with a grin before turning Ryudo's head and kissing him deeply. Ryudo kissed back, his hand reaching out and stroking that black cock making Gail whimper and thrust into his hand.

Rose's mind was in a haze. She never thought she would be doing something like this, and to a human no less. But that was in the back of her mind as her body was on auto pilot. Pre was swallowed quickly making her want more. Ryudo could himself getting closer which Gail could sense as he detached himself from those soft lips and moved his head down towards Rose.

“He's getting close Rose. Are you ready?”

Rose could only whimper in response. She wanted it and she wanted it now. Ryudo grunted, feeling that flow of cum ready to fire. Gripping the sheets, he let out a moan, unable to hold back anymore. A meep escaped Rose, feeling that first blast of salty, human cum coat her tongue. Her mouth clamped down, swallowing everything and not wasting a drop. Gail looked on, seeing Rose's throat take down everything. Once the last spurt was guzzled down Rose lifted her head, panting heavily and licking her lips.

“How was it?” Gail whispered in her ear softly, giving the corner of her muzzle a lick and tasting a bit of cum she missed.

Rose's eyes were out of focused as she looked at Ryudo. Crawling forward, she planted her lips on his, kissing him deeply, a purr rumbling through her body. Ryudo jumped at first but kissed her back, holding her close as she grinded into his still hard rod. She could feel the heat from it even through the shorts she wore.

“God, that was awesome,” she said, breaking the kiss and giggling.

“It gets better. Wait til you feel it inside you,” Gail giggled.

Rose blushed before climbing off of Ryudo. She reached up and took off her shirt, showing her smooth grey fur. Perky breasts jiggled with her erratic breathing. Next came the shorts as Gail could smell the lust coming off her in waves making a growl escape his throat. Now that they were all in the buff, Rose slid back onto Ryudo's lap.

“Mmm, best seat in the house,” she said breathlessly.

“Don't get too comfortable. That belongs to me. I'm only allowing you a sample,” Gail said possessively.

Rose pouted before tensed up feeling Gail's teeth around her the scruff of her neck. Her tail twitched madly behind her, tickling that slick cock making him thrust into her smooth fur.

“You need to be reminded of your place in this house.”

Ryudo listened to Gail speak. He never heard him talk like this before. Maybe because he never mated with a female before. His gold eyes looked at Ryudo and saw something strange in them. Something that sent shivers up his spine.

“Lay down for me, Ryudo.”

Ryudo only nodded as he laid down, watching Gail roam his paws all over Rose's body. She squirmed in his grasp, back arching from his touch and tongue hanging out.

“Now then Rose, have a look down.”

Rose looked down to see Ryudo's hard cock pressing into her.

“That belongs to me. But for tonight, you are going to ride that until you scream,” Gail growled into her ear. “And while he does that, I'm going to take the other hole.”

“Umm, Gail. I don't think...”

Gail gave Ryudo a sharp look making him go quiet. Another tug on the scruff of her neck made her mewl softly. He gripped her hips and lifted them up. Knowing what he was planning, she gripped Ryudo softly, lining him up for entrance. A gasp escaped them both as the tip popped into her lips. Gail watched with a grin as she slowly sat down, impaling herself. A feeling of fullness over took her as she hers claws gripped Ryudo's thighs.

“Oh.....god. It's.....so hot, and.....hard...” Rose shivered.

“Ain't it great? That belongs to me every night. Now enjoy your ride.”

He let go the scruff of her neck as she looked down at Ryudo who looked back. With a soft smile, she rose up to the tip before coming back down with a gasp. Ryudo groaned, holding her furry hips and feeling those tight walls convulse and ripple around him. He didn't know what game Gail was playing but at the moment, he didn't care. For now, all his attention was on the beautiful feline riding him hard.

She picked up the pace, feeling the herself get wetter by the minute and helping make the friction more pleasurable. She could every ridge in his cock, and rubbed her walls in ways she didn't know was possible. Her tail wrapped around his wrist as she gasped, feeling that cock head hit her cervix with every deep push.

“Ryudo....I didn't.....know....humans were.....so gifted.”

“You....just got....lucky,”

They had forgotten about Gail just as he appeared behind Rose, giving her a push forward making her gasp in surprise. She looked back to see Gail pull her tail up and prod her hole.

“You didn't forget me did you? Now then, I'm going to show you your place.”

She tensed up, feeling poke and prod. Her eyes were full of tension which Ryudo saw as he leaned up and kissed her.

“Go easy on her Gail.”

“I know Ryudo. I'm not that mean. Are you ready Rose?”

She nodded her head and closed her eyes, relaxing her body as much as possible. Gail pushed forward, slipping the tip in making her gasp and clench her teeth. It was painful yes, but Gail was gentle, only pushing in when she was fully relax and accustomed. Pretty soon, his hips were flush with her as she moaned loudly.

“That's what I want to hear,” Gail murred, leaning over and licking her neck. “Let me hear more.”

Rose could only oblige, letting another moan escape her lips from the double pleasure assault on her body. She opened her eyes which held a wild lust to them and looked behind her.

“Alright you naughty boys. Take me.”

“You sure?” Ryudo asked.

“You heard the lady. Let's give her what she wants.”

Gail pulled out slowly, loving the tight embrace she was giving him before pushing back in. They both pushed into the quivering feline smothered in between them, hearing her moan without a care in the world. Their motions were off at first, but soon they fell into a rhythm and really made Rose scream in pleasure.

“Oh....yes...” she mewled in pleasure.

Gail was panting heavily, feeling his furry orbs slap loudly against Rose's body. He didn't know what was coming over him, but he didn't care. All he wanted to do was claim the body in his grasp. His ears folded as his muzzle clamped onto her shoulder.

Ryudo felt the same effects as Gail. It seemed like every time he pushed in, her body would squeeze the daylights out of his cock. Looking up, he saw the look of pure pleasure on both their faces, which made him happy. Rose's body tensed before she let out a scream as an orgasm rocked her body making Gail snarl feeling her get tighter.

“That's right Rose. Let these cocks take you to a world of pleasure.”

“Fuck.....don't stop. Mate me senseless,” Rose screamed.

They thrusted into her harder, the bed screaming its protest along with the springs. Their heavy breathing and shivering bodies told the story as their peak edged closer and closer.

“Claim me, Ryudo and Gail. Make me.....yours. Cum....in me.”

They both groaned together, moving their bodies as fast as they could. Trying to hold back was impossible as Rose squeezed down on them with all her might, wanting them to give her everything.

“Fuck.....can't hold...it,” Ryudo groaned.

“Grr....take it.....all,” Gail growled.

They locked their hips with her body and tensed up, stomach clenching as they unloaded into her body. Her scream was loud feeling both her holes get filled with their hot cum. Spurt after wet thick spurt entered her body and she welcomed every drop with glee, clenching her muscles and making sure she milked them for all they were worth.

“Feeling....light headed....now,” Ryudo panted, stars filling his vision.

Rose dropped onto his chest, giving his nipple a lick making him shiver. Gail stood over them both, panting happily and giving her ass a slap making her yip.

“Now....you belong....to me.”

Rose giggled at that before letting out a soft moan feeling Gail pull out slowly, a trail of cum attached still attached to the tip. Once he was out, he plopped down on his back collecting his breath. Rose eased herself off of Ryudo slowly, loving the extra simulation before cuddling up next to Gail and giving his neck a lick.

“Thank you alpha,” Rose giggled along with Gail.

“That doesn't sound right. Just Gail will do.”

“But you said I belong to you. So its only fitting wouldn't you think?”

“Nobody belongs to anybody in my house,” Ryudo added. “If anything, you both belong to me.”

That made them giggle along with Ryudo as they settled down together in bed. Gail held Rose softly, her purring help to put them both asleep. Ryudo stood awake for a while later. He hoped Kelley would make good on his promise to get that billed passed. With a yawn, he pulled the covers over all of them and fell asleep.

“Okay, I'm not seeing anything else wrong, so you're free to go,” Ryudo said, looking at the x-rays on the lamp.

“Thank you doctor,” the young man said.

“You're quite welcomed. If she has anymore discomfort, gives us a call and we'll dig a little deeper.”

“Okay. Come on Lucy.”

“Yes master,” the husky said, giving Ryudo a smile before leaving.

Ryudo pulled the x-rays down before placing them in a folder and leaving the exam room. It was lunch time and his stomach was screaming at him. Heading to the cafeteria, he spotted Derrick and Blake munching away and chuckling. Grabbing a tray consisting of lasagna with vegetables, he made his way over and took a seat.

“Hey fellas.”

“Sup boss man?” Derrick grinned.

“How you liking it so far Blake?”

“It's a blast man. I can't thank you enough,” Blake said, taking a swig of root beer.

“You deserved it. You studied just as hard as us.”

Blake smiled as they chatted away. Soon, a nurse came in holding a clipboard.

“Dr. Peterson? I hate to disturb you during lunch, but we need your help with something.”

“What is it?”

“A patient in room 10C is refusing help from anybody but has a nasty wound on its side.”

“Very well, I'll head down with you.”

He stood up and headed back with the nurse to the room. Inside was a chameleon, its side had a deep gash that had blood oozing out. Once Ryudo entered, its turquoise eyes looked at him.

“That's a pretty bad gash you have there. Why won't you let the nurse help you?” Ryudo asked.

“I'm used to pain. Pain is only in the mind.”

“If you say so. But if you're here, you're going to be fixed up. Will that be a problem?”

“No.”

Ryudo nodded his head before getting to work, cleaning the chameleon up and wrapping his body.

“If you don't mind, I would like to keep you overnight in case of infection. What's your name?”

The chameleon looked at him before giving a evil smile.

“Psi.”
