Ch. 3 Shocking Reunion

The next morning after getting a good night's sleep and having breakfast, including Grookey and Poochyena, Justin mounted Suicune's back and set off again.

As they reached the edge of town, Suicune glanced back at Justin. "Did you not say you needed to see your... what was it again... The Pokémon professor? If you wanted to become a trainer..."

"Oh, that's right!" said Justin face palming himself, "I forgot!" He ran back into the Pokémon Center and then came out. "His lab's not far from here. Nurse Joy says his lab is on the other side of town," he said.

"If it's the building I believe it is..." Suicune hummed to himself trotting at a quick pace. The made it to the other side of town, catching sight of a sprawling, two-story building up on top of a small hill. A sign on the fence outside read 'Professor Sequoia's Pokémon Research Laboratory'.

Suicune grunted, made his way to the gate, and allowed Justin to hop off.

"Looks like this is it," said Justin and looked to his mate, "Are you ready?" He looked over to Poochyena, who was by his side along with Grookey.

"I am," Suicune said with a nod.

"Yeah!" Poochyena was panting a little bit with excitement, looking around and sniffing at what he could.

Grookey ducked his head a little bit, peeking up at Justin and the other Pokémon. At last he nodded, shifting shyly from foot to foot.

Justin knelt down and picked up Grookey and held him in his arms as they walked in together.

Grookey smiled, clinging a little bit to his new human companion.

As the group stepped into the lab, they were greeted by one of the professor's assistants, who stood up from his desk and made his way over. "Well, hello, there! How can we help you today?" He smiled to Justin, gave Grookey and Poochyena a glance, and then looked curiously at Suicune.

"Hi," he said, "I'm Justin and I'm a beginning trainer. I was told by my dad that I was to register for a Pokédex and a starter I think?"

"Right, yes! Though it looks like you've already got a starter." Another glance at Grookey, then the assistant shrugged. "I'll inform Professor Sequoia, and he'll be right with you."

"Oh, actually, Suicune is my starter... The rest is a long story," said Justin as he snuggled with his mate.

"Suicune...?" The assistant's brow furrowed, and then he shrugged. "Well, either way." Then he made his way deeper into the lab.

"Hmm... Justin?" Suicune glanced up at the human. "Though I'm glad you are so enthused of me, I wonder if we should be a bit more... discreet about who I truly am."

"It'll be okay," said Justin stroking Suicune's face, "I'm sure the Professor is a very nice man."

"I'm sure he is, yes." Suicune nuzzled against the human's hand. "I am worried, though, about those who are not so nice men. Humans whose intentions with a legendary aren't nearly so pure as yours are."

"Well, they'll have to deal with me first," said Justin softly as they heard approaching footsteps coming towards them.

The assistant returned, following behind a large, bespectacled man: Professor Sequoia. The professor smiled and greeted Justin and his Pokémon with a wide grin. "Well hello! Ready to become a trainer and start seeing the world, eh?"

"Yes... After waiting about 9 years after turning 10, I was born ready," said Justin, "And I hope you don't mind but I already chosen my starter and made a few new friends already."

"That's no trouble at all." Sequoia chuckled as he pulled out a tablet. "Technically, you can become a trainer at any time once you're of-age, you don't have to do it immediately at 10. And many prospective trainers who don't live in a town with a professor's lab nearby end up making a few friends along the way." He tapped a few times on the touch screen. "I'll just need your name and details, the name of your starter, and the names of any other Pokémon you'd like to register. Then I can get your dex and badge case ready for you."

"Well, I'm Justin and I just arrived from Riverdale," said the young man, "And my starter is Suicune. And with me are also Poochyena and Grookey.

Seqouia nodded, as he put in the information. "Oh, I believe this is the same Grookey I registered to a trainer last week. Hm..." His brow furrowed. "And Suicune... Well, it's not allowing me to register that Pokémon as your starter, or even a part of your team. It isn't even on the list..."

He looked up at Justin and Suicune. "Is this really... the Suicune? There've been stories I heard from the professor and a few legendary hunters over in the Johto region, but..."

Suicune pressed against Justin's side. "I hate to say 'I told you so,' but alas."

"He IS my first starting Pokémon and I don't care what some dumb computer says," said Justin firmly, "And frankly, Grookey's trainer was arrested last night for being abusive to this little fella."

"I see." The professor looked at Justin for a long moment, brow furrowed in thought. "And you took him in to be part of your team?"

"Yes. He joined me of his own free will," said Justin as he hugged Suicune.

Another nod, and then Sequoia smiled. "I can see that you really care about Pokémon. And you're quite the determined young man." He tapped a few more things on his tablet. "While I can't exactly register Suicune here as your starting Pokémon, what I can do is register him as another Pokémon in the system. That way, he'll be an official part of your team, if only under another name. Hmmm..." He scrolled a few times. "Apparently, there's been a variant of water-type Arcanine found in the Paldea region recently, though there's not too much information about them just yet..."

Suicune huffed. "I suppose if I must be an 'Arcanine'..."

Poochyena giggled.

"But you're much too elegant to be an Arcanine," said Justin, "Professor, when was the last time you updated your system?"

"Hm, well, I..." The professor glanced to his assistant. "The system did get updated on Monday, right?"

"Ah, well..." The assistant hemmed and hawed for a moment. "We did have that large influx of trainers to deal with, so..."

"Ah." Sequoia grunted and gave Justin a sheepish smile. "Just one moment, please."

"Of course," said Justing nodding his head and he snuggled up to his feral lover.

"Alright... just need to..." The professor tapped away for a few more moments, then nodded. "And... done. And as I matter of fact... looks like things are squared away after all! Sorry for the confusion there."

"So... Does that mean you can put in Suicune properly as my starter?" asked Justin with Poochyena barking to make sure the point got across.

Professor Sequoia nodded, giving Justin a smile. "Everything is all squared away for you. And..." He nodded to his assistant, who handed over two objects to the professor: a small case, and a tablet about the size of a Pokégear. "I've got your badge case and Pokédex right here. Congratulations, Pokémon Trainer Justin!"

"Thank you," said Justin as he accepted them and he hugged Suicune's neck feeling so excited.

Suicune nuzzled Justin in return, while Poochyena barked in joy and Grookey gave the pair a small smile.

Professor Sequoia, too, smiled at the sight. "It's a little bit of a trek to the next town over, and the first gym on the route to the league, but it shouldn't be any issue at all through teamwork and dedication. Good luck on your journey."

"Thank you, sir," said Justin and turned to his secret lover, "Shall we get going?"

"Yes." Suicune rose to all fours, following Justin out of the lab along with Poochyena and Grookey as the assistant led them.

"Grookey? You feeling okay, bud?" asked Justin softly as he knelt down to his leaf type friend.

"Hm?" Grookey started just a little bit, looking up at the human. "Y-yeah, I'm okay." He nodded, another tiny smile flittering across his face.

Justin pulled Grookey into a hug. "That's good," he said, "It means you're making progress. Just take things one step at a time."

"Will do..." Grookey pressed into the hug. "Th-thank you..."

"So..." Poochyena looked up to Justin. "Where to now?"

"To wherever the road and life may take us," said Justin grinning feeling excited for his first adventure.

"Something I am quite familiar with." Suicune chuckled. "Though this is the first time I shall be traveling with companions."

"I..." Grookey bit his lip, then looked up to Justin with a determined expression. "I'll do my best to... k-keep up with you guys."

"Well, how about you just rest in your Pokéballs for now and call you out whenever we stop?" asked Justin, "It'll be much easier to travel that way."

"Sounds good." Poochyena nodded.

"Right!" Likewise, Grookey nodded.

Justin nodded and summoned them back into their Pokéballs. "So... Do you think we can find Entei and Raikou? I want them to know that we're mated and I kind of want to meet them."

Suicune hummed in thought. "Perhaps. Although, again, I've little idea of where they may be. But perhaps, now that you are a trainer, you may be able to gather information from others."

"Perhaps," said Justin as he mounted Suicune, "Shall we be off?"

"Yes." Suicune shifted a little bit, making sure that Justin was completely settled. Then, they were off.

Justin held onto Suicune as they were flying by fast.

Down the road. Through the forest and over a wide open field. The terrain passing by under Suicune's paws completely effortlessly.

"NO!"

Suicune came to a stop, cocking his head. "Did you hear that just now-"

"STOP! P-PLEASE!"

"Yeah, I did," said Justin as he looked around, "Where's it it coming from?"

"NOOOO!"

"There." Suicune turned towards the source of the screaming, darting off with Justin still clinging to his back. Soon they came upon a small clearing in the tall grass, where an Electrike was cowering under a looming, chortling, sneering golem.

"Aw, what's the matter? You scared?" The golem stomped down right next to the Electrike's side, missing it by just a tiny amount. "You come into my territory 'n think you can just traipse off like nothing?"

"I-I'm sorry!"

"Sorry's not good enough." Another stomp, just a bit closer to the whimpering Electrike. "I think you need to learn a lesson!"

"Hey!" yelled Justin jumping down from Suicune, "Leave him alone!" He looked at his Pokédex and found out Golem was a ground type and was afraid of water. He looked at the smaller Electrike, an electric type weak against ground types. "Suicune, use water gun!" he yelled.

"With pleasure." Suicune looked furiously at the Golem. "Perhaps this should be a lesson for you!" With that, he fired off his water gun; the blast was strong enough to knock the golem away a good few feet, giving the Electrike an opportunity to dart behind Suicune with a whimper.

"GAH!" The golem groaned and righted itself, looking at Suicune and Justin. "Guh, what's a trainer doing all the way out here...?"

"Never mind!" snarled Justin, "What's the idea on picking on someone smaller than you? You're nothing but a big coward!"

The golem growled in fury at that. "A coward, huh?" He looked from Justin, to Suicune, to the Electrike. "Well how about this, huh? I'll teach you three to come onto my turf!" He hunkered down and then rolled himself at Justin, beamed of light starting to shine through the cracks in his outer shell.

"Justin, look out!" Suicune grabbed Electrike by the scruff, tossing him into the air. Then he rushed over to Justin, knocking the human up and onto his back as well, the pair dodging away from the blast of the golem's self-destruct just in time.

Justin held Electrike tightly as they dashed away. "It's okay," he said softly to the poor thing, "You're safe now."

Once the trio were safely away from the knocked-out Golem, Suicune came to a stop. Electrike looking up at Justin, then over to the other Pokémon. "That... was so... cool!" He began to pant in excitement, his little tail wagging. "Thank you for saving me!"

"It was nothing." Suicune turned to look back to the smaller Pokémon. "Are you alright, little one?"

"Uh-huh." Electrike nodded. "He didn't get a chance to actually hurt before you two came along. Th-thanks again."

"What in the world were you doing there?" asked Justin, "Don't you know electric type moves don't work on ground types?"

"Uh, well..." Electrike looked a little bit embarrassed. "I wanted to go exploring a bit, like my dad used to do, and I kinda wandered further than I thought I had. Then before I knew it, that guy was coming at me for trespassing on his territory."

"Do you want us to take you home?" asked Justin, "Where's your father at?"

"Yeah, if you could..." Electrike looked a little embarrassed, but quickly snapped out of it and began wagging his tail again. "I wanna tell dad about how you handled that Golem as easy as anything!"

"Very well." A nod from Suicune. "And where is your home?"

"Uhm..." Electrike looked to the left. Then to the right. He furrowed his brow, and then perked up. "Over in that direction!" He pointed with his nose towards the west.

Justin smiled. "Okay. Hold on tight," he said holding Electrike in his arms as Suicune took off.

The grass of the plains darted by underfoot, the Aurora Pokémon passing over miles of land with little more than a huff of breath. He peered ahead, searching for any sign of habitation in the tall grass, and finally found it.

There, under a rock with the remains of a towering, lightning-burnt tree perched atop it, he could see a sizable hollow dug into the earth. He slowed to a trot, eyes on the ash-covered spire; from the side, Justin could see a brief furrow of the Pokémon's brow, a tightening of his lips. As they approached, Electrike began to squirm in Justin's arms, lifting his voice to call out. "Dad! Hey dad, I'm back!”

Raikou came out and nuzzled Electrike feeling glad to see he was safe. Justin smiled as he stayed close to Suicune as he watched the scene unfold.

Suicune, meanwhile, stiffened, staring at the other Pokémon.

"There you are, kiddo!" Beamed, his voice booming like thunder as he greeted Electrike. "Was starting to get worried about you. You didn't run into any trouble out there, did you?"

"No." Electrike giggled, continuing to nuzzle the soft fur over one of Raikou's long fangs. "Well, there was a mean Golem who chased me, but then these guys came to save me!" He looked over to Suicune and Justin, beaming as well.

"Well, then, I gotta thank 'em, don't I? So, who are you... new... friends...?" Raikou trailed off, his gaze locking with Suicune's. Both Pokémon stayed quiet for a long moment as Electrike looked between the two of them, confused.

Finally, Suicune bowed his head in greeting, his eyes on the ground. "Greetings, brother. It's been... far too long."

Justin gulped and bowed along with his mate.

"Sui... cune..." Raikou continued to stare, his expression blank. Then, like a sudden storm... he burst into laughter and darted forward, batting his snout against the side of the Aurora Pokémon's neck. "Too long indeed! How have you been? And who's this little one?" He looked over to Justin, a smile on his face as he pushed in close to examine the human. "Got yourself captured by a trainer, eh? Ah, you know how it goes. He's treating you well, right? You are treating my brother well, right?" That last sentence was directed at Justin as one of the Thunder Pokémon's brows perked upward.

Suicune cleared his throat, stammering for just a moment. "He... does treat me very well, yes. This is Justin, and-"

"Justin, huh? Nice to meet you!" Again, Raikou beamed. "Ah, where are my manners? Come inside out of the sun and rest for a bit! You helped my boy, so it's the least I can do for you!"

"Thank you, sir," said Justin as he and Suicune were led inside, "And it's a pleasure to meet the brother of my mate." That made Raikou freeze and stare wide eyed at Suicune. "Mate?" he asked looking stunned.

Suicune cleared his throat, stepping a little bit closer to Justin; close enough to let his side brush against the human's. "That's correct. Justin and I have taken one another as our mate, and are traveling the world together."

"Huh. Didn't think you'd go for a human, but..." The grin return to Raikou's face. "Congratulations!"

"Dad?" Electrike tilted his head. "What's a 'mate'...?"

"Oh, it means Suicune and Justin here are really close with one another." Raikou nodded to the younger Pokémon, chuckling a little bit. "I'll tell you more when you're older, alright?"

Justin chuckled. "When Electrike said that had family up here, I had no idea he meant you," he said.

"Indeed." Suicune nodded as he and Justin settled together, Raikou sitting on his haunches nearby while Electrike wandered off. "Your, ah, son is quite the bright young Pokémon." His gaze darted away for a moment as he shifted on his stomach, then he looked to Raikou once more. "Have you, ah...?"

"Hm? Oh! No, no..." Raikou chuckled and shook his head. "Found the poor tyke wandering these very plains a couple of years back. He'd lost his family, you see, so what could I do but take him in? Believe you me, I never pictured myself as a single father, but..." He looked over to where Electrike was pawing at the ground, keeping himself occupied while the adults talked, and his smile grew warmer. "Kid makes it worth it nearly every day."

"I know what you mean," said Justin as he summoned Poochyena and Grookey to meet Electrike.

The pair of Pokémon looked around curiously, then perked up when Electrike darted over to them, eager to meet new friend. Grookey stayed back just a little bit, still shy as Poochyena and Electrike sniffed at one another. Then the bite Pokémon beamed and dragged the grass monkey forward, the trio growing comfortable with one another as they talked.

"Heh, looks like you've got a couple tykes of your own, Suicune." Raikou beamed and tipped his brother a wink as Suicune cleared his throat.

"Ah, yes. So it seems." A slight smile came to the Aurora Pokémon's face as he watched the young trio hit it off.

"I thought they might like to meet someone outside of their friend circle," said Justin, "And Grookey could use a little courage to help open up." He went on to tell Raikou about how his father helped him escape his mother's overbearing control and how he first met Suicune. He continued talking about the adventures they've been on leading up to that very point.

Suicune chimed in when it came to his meeting with Justin, telling his brother how he'd nursed the human back to health. Raikou's smile only grew wider at that as he looked between the Pokémon and the young man, listening to their tale.

The Aurora Pokémon and human seemed to be snuggling all the while. "And that's why I want the Pokémon I'm with to choose to come with me on their own free will," said Justin, "Helps build bonds of trust."

"Heh, I can see why my brother likes you, Justin." Raikou nodded. "Usually it's either trainers wantin' to catch us because we're 'cool', or some idiot or other wanting to use us for power or... whatever." He huffed, the long mane along his back sparking for a moment. "You seem like you actually like Pokémon, though, and that's something to be commended." A chuckle and a wink. "And of course I don't just mean that way..."

"Ahem, yes..." Suicune blushed. "I... honestly didn't realize that a human could feel... that way. But Justin managed to surprise me. Pleasantly, I may add."

"And I never knew that a Pokémon like Suicune would make such a perfect mate," he said, "Let alone that you can fall in love at first sight."

"Get a room, you two!" Poocheyena called over from the side with a playful smirk. Grookey blushed, chuckling shyly, while Electrike tilted his head in confusion once again.

"Hah! I like that one, he's got spunk." Raikou grinned and laughed out loud. Then he looked to Suicune with an approving expression, nodding. "I'm glad you and Justin here are happy together, brother."

"We are indeed." Suicune smiled as he looked to his mate, dipping down to nuzzle his cheek against Justin's own.

Justin smiled and hugged Suicune as well as kissing his lips. That sight made Poochyena gag and mention cooties. Justin chuckled when Electrike was confused. "Don't worry," he said, "You'll find out one day when you're older."

Electrike just shrugged, seeming to accept that, though he did still look curious.

Raikou let out a heavy sigh of contentment, settling on his belly, and then laughed again. "Man, got nostalgic for just a second there. All we're missing is Entei and we'd have ourselves a little family reunion!"

"Indeed..." Suicune let out a light laugh as well, though there was a bit of wistfulness to it. "Have you and him met each other since last we all spoke?"

"Nope." A shrug from Raikou. "Mostly been making my own way -- and lately, focusing on taking care of the tyke over there. Have you seen him anywhere around?"

"I... have not." Suicune shook his head. "Although Justin here is very interested in meeting him, as much so as he was in meeting you."

"I... actually wanted to ask for your approval and blessing in my relationship with Suicune... And perhaps share a bond as well... Not that I want to be your trainer or anything. I meant in a more... Physical sense," he said gesturing to a more private area. Raikou could tell when someone was in heat and the boy was no exception.

"Well, you've got it!" Raikou beamed and nod. "You don't just got my approval and blessing, but you've got it enthusiastically. You're a good human, Justin, and I'm glad Suicune here was able to meet a mate like you. As for..." All of a sudden, the boisterous Pokémon looked almost shy, shifting on his belly and following the direction of the young man's gesture with his eyes. "I mean, I ain't exactly saying no, but... Is that something you'd wanna do? And..." He looked to Suicune, lowering his voice. "I mean, is that something you'd be okay with, brother...?"

Suicune took a deep breath in. He let it out slowly. Then he nodded, a light blush showing through the fur on his snout. "I would be okay with it, yes, if it's something you would be interested in..."

"Well... I've already taken him," said Justin softly so that only Raikou and Suicune could hear. The fanged Pokémon blushed bright red thinking that a human could actually take Suicune's cock so easily.

"You have, have you?" Raikou let out a quiet, shaky chuckle, and gulped. "Well, uh... Think I'm about the same size as him, so you shouldn't have any trouble..."

"Understood," whispered Justin and kissed Suicune's cheek before getting up and followed Raikou to a small, secluded hideaway.

"Here we go." Riakou looked to Justin with a smaller smile on his face; still a wide grin by any other standards. "Usually come here when I need some personal time away from the tyke, if you catch my meaning. Nice and private, so..." He cleared his throat. "So! How would you like to do this, hm? How, uh... how do you and... Suicune do it, if it's not too awkward for me to ask?"

"Well," said Justin as he caressed Raikou's face, "We start this way." He leaned forward and gently kissed the Pokémon on the lips before deepening it.

Justin smiled and hugged Raikou. "You have my word that we'll watch over him like family," he said and kissed Raikou deeply and moaned as he felt the feline slowly pull out.

Later, Justin got dressed and then got up with Raikou to rejoin their group. They were pleased to see that Poochyena, Grookey and Electrike were all asleep next to Suicune. "I see they wore themselves out," said Justin smiling.

"Takes after his old man, I guess." Raikou laughed, though he made sure to keep it quiet. "Thanks for watching him, brother."

"Of course, brother. And I'm happy to report that he, Poochyena, and Grookey seem to have hit it off well with one another." He looked from the flushed human to the still-panting Pokémon, a slight half-smile on his lips. "I take it the two of you did so as well...?"

Justin smiled as he wrapped an arm around Raikou's shoulder. "Let's just say we two became closer just like you and me," he said as he knelt down and kissed Suicune, "But my heart will always belong to you."

"Mm, I am glad." Suicune pressed into the kiss, nuzzling his mate, while Raikou watched on with a smile.

"And guess what," said Justin, "Raikou's agreed to travel with us."

Suicune perked up at that. "You have?" He looked to his brother, and Raikou nodded.

"Yeah. Like you said, it's been way too long since you and I have seen each other. Think it might be nice to, you know, join you two in your travels."

Suicune smiled, then stretched out his neck to nuzzle Raikou; the Thunder Pokémon's blush grew a little stronger. "Well then, I know that I'd be happy to have you along."

Justin smiled and looked up at the sky. "Gosh! It's getting late," he said, "And I don't even know if there's a town nearby or not."

"Well, the tykes seem like they're pretty well settled in." Raikou looked to the young Pokémon who were cuddled up with each other next to Suicune, sleeping soundly. "Why don't you stay the night here, and we can all set out together tomorrow?"

"Thank you," said Justin and yawned as he settled down next to Suicune as well giving the Aurora Pokémon one more kiss. "I love you," he said before he lay down and drifted off to sleep.

Raikou and Suicune settled down as well; Justin could hear their quiet voices murmuring to one another as he drifted off.
