Damn, two years passed since I started writing it, can you believe it? I got stuck, got back on it, did many changes as the story was taking me in a different direction the more I wrote about the characters, but here we are! And there will be more to come, hopefully in less than two years!
Thanks go to :iconPerrin-Wolfbrother:, rodrick-domnall , and arandomguyontheinternet for their support through it!
The Black Brew was your average coffee place, packed in the morning as workers and students were taking their load of caffeine before starting the day. It wasn't the most successful or renowned in the city, but was certainly on the rise, as it was in the street that mostly managed to escape crimes and super fights. The decoration was simple, with relaxing green tables and chairs, and soft white walls, safe for one adorned with pictures of PowerWolf, along with a sign saying it was his favorite coffee of the city. Most people did assume it was the main reason the place was left untouched by the average crime doer, after all who would dare attack a place under the city's favorite hero? But the real reason was behind the counter. There was the owner, an orca always quick to greet his customers with a smile before serving them their favorite drink and selling delicious pastry on the side. People would have thought more than twice if they knew it was actually The Blowhole, one of the numerous super villains plaguing the city, but while some would call him evil, food was one thing the bad guy wasn't keen on messing with.
He looked at his customers sitting or waiting in line, wondering which of them could be a super, while grabbing the cream to add to a fresh cup of coffee. It was always a fun little game of his.
Most villains were dumb enough to assume their alter ego persona full time, to the point even their real identity was known to the public, making it impossible for them to not dive back into crime whenever they left prison. Or rather escaped it.
Heroes on the other hand… They were smart enough to keep a low profile and try to live a normal life when not saving lives. Of course, with the Hero Association being so important, some could allow themselves to be full time super, but they were the exception, not the norm. That tired fox holding her pup in her arms? She could be Chance, the super who always has luck on her side. And that tiger in a suit carrying a case and checking his watch? It could be Fearless, rumored to be one of the heads of the HA.
A villain would have just blasted the doors off, before asking for a coffee AND the cash register. He chuckled while serving another customer, young enough to either be a senior in highschool or freshman in college.
That would never happen of course. The real reason this place was relatively untouched was that The Blowhole made it clear to the other villains and gangs that this store was under his protection, adding PowerWolf was just a little plus to reassure the average fur. Of course it wasn't completely untouched. He didn't want to raise suspicion. The city was big, but both the police and Hero Association would have noticed if one street and more specifically one store was always left untouched, no one ever committing crime or fighting in the area. No, he did pay some goons every few months to try a robbery here or there, or pulled favors from fellow villains.
Hours passed, the morning rush dying down, giving him opportunity to check his phone and send some messages, greeting a familiar brown wolf that entered the store before working on cleaning some of the accumulated dishes and reloading his stock of pastry.
******
“You what?" The cup the orca was holding in his hand broke at the news.
“I quit." Answered the wolf, calmly.
His eyes darted to the fragment of glass on the counter, he knew firsthand the killer whale had no super strength, so it must have got him either quite surprised or quite angry to hear that. Ryann brought his own cup of coffee to his lips and took a sip before continuing, bracing himself for what will come next.
“Not just the police. I'm done playing your little games."
Grit cleaned the counter of the coffee shop, staring at him. At this hour of the day the place wasn't packed but for sure he wouldn't yell or risk antagonizing the various patrons still present. To his surprise a smile grew on the orca's face.
“Oh really now? Growing a spine I see."
The brown wolf refused to answer the taunt and simply nodded, getting a super villain as an enemy would be dangerous, even if the Blowhole usually kept professional on his day job.
“Still, as good as your ass looks, I don't think your stripper job will be enough to get you going Ryann. I know you, you like doing good and helping. You won't be able to keep yourself from being involved."
As he said that, the cetacean leaned over the counter, scratching under the wolf's chin. Ryann's ears flicked as he let himself enjoy this moment, maybe just a second too long, before finishing his coffee and putting a few bills in front of him. He had indeed other plans, but he wasn't going to reveal them to the bad guy.
“Oh don't worry, you'll still hear from me, I have no doubt!"
“Don't count on me to stay here waiting!"
The wolf left the place, some clients' eyes on him, probably wondering if that was a lover's quarrel. His tail wagging behind him, looking over his shoulder and not missing the eyes of the orca that darted towards his ass. Surely Ryann was going to miss the coffee and the… company… Grit offered, his groin stirring a bit at the memories.
He knew he wouldn't be able to escape the super villain orca that easily, no matter how light the discussion went, just like he knew that the Blowhole would always be able to know his position due to the “sonar" in him, but a new road had opened for him.
Ryann clenched his fist, a few snowflakes shining around for an instant.
After having spent all those years in the police, seeing them slowly becoming worse than the criminals and villains they were fighting, Ryann had finally left the forces. For a couple weeks, it had felt weird to him, waking up in the morning at his usual hour, because of the routine of his life, but with nothing left to do.
To keep the money coming, he had started taking more turns at the stripper bar he used to perform in. Considering the amount of tips and gropes he was getting every time though, at least his ego was kept very high, and he even regularly got propositions from guys wanting to finish the night with him.
But it wasn't the only thing that changed in him.
Maybe it was the encounter with the city's favorite hero, maybe it was the Blowhole's rubber he had to get in his body, maybe it was just the constant stress and desperate situation he was in, but recently powers awakened in him. And those powers evolved quickly, as if they had years of development to catch up in a few days.

"And we have a question for you, why the sudden change in your costume?
- Oh, this? Well it's a symbol. Showing I belong to the city."
As the crowd started clapping the sound went off, the hologram image disappearing as a group of heroes was gathered around the table. The head of the Hero Alliance, a lioness going by the name Fierce, dressed in a bright yellow and tight outfit accentuating her form, was looking at the others around the table, her tail swishing behind her.
“I call you all to talk about this. PowerWolf seems to have decided to proceed to some change in his costume." She left a small silence, hands on the table to assess her authority. “Do you realize what that means?"
An equine, who's costume appeared to be a simple suit, decided to react after no one in the assembly spoke up. “We will have to see with the marketing team to produce new figurines and call back the old ones?"
Every other hero at the table let out a loud sigh, the lioness deciding to ignore the last speaker.
Wearing a lab coat, a rat with a pronounced forehead took his turn speaking, sounding tired. “Fierce, this interview is already 3 months old, you really want to bring up that subject again?"
“Something happened to him, Cortex. You know it, I know it, our costume shows our history, ourselves, everything we want to transmit to the people we save. It's not something you change on a whim."
“I think we will have to keep him in check." Added Fearless, a tiger whose costume felt strongly inspired by the head of the Hero Alliance. “And I think I know the perfect way."
He put a few pictures on the tables, representing various supers, all of them fairly new and relatively low profile in the city yet.
“A sidekick uh? That could work, they are still easily malleable and will eagerly report to us everything he sees, too happy to get a chance to shine." Fierce said, browsing the different pics.
Male and females, every species, there were even some notes on their powers, age and interest. After checking the different candidates, she eliminated a few based on their species or age. People usually liked when the sidekick was the same species as the hero, as for the age, they already had a few father/child pairs around and it would have looked redundant. A shame, one rookie would have been perfect, even having a similar fur color.
After a bit, she stopped her decision on a handsome wolf wearing a green jumping suit and going by the name Winterfang. He was roughly the same age as PowerWolf despite his powers having only awakening recently, making them marketable as friends or rivals having to team up.
“This one will do."
“But he is just a vigilante!" Exclaimed a bear at the table, the light flitting as electricity filled the room.
“We'll just have to make him join us, Blitz." Responded Fearless. “An outsider makes him an even better choice, he will see the invitation as a mark of respect."
“This won't end well, and only creates discord when the truth comes out." Insisted the rat. “You'd better hope PowerWolf or that newbie won't speak about it, or you can be sure your seat at this table will be given to someone else."
******
It had been a couple months since his life changed. PowerWolf was riding the bus, dressed as his normal self, looking at his phone. Two dick pics were facing him, a thick black and white shaft and a pointy red rocket with a sizable knot at its base, with just three words under, “Master or Alpha?". He felt himself blush and get hard, the collar feeling somehow tighter around his neck even if hidden by a scarf, almost suppressing a whine at the idea. This was the new way the two males he submitted to teased him: Sending him pics and asking which one he wanted the most right now. Most of the time though it was only the orca though, and the hero was starting to grow more and more fond of the villain, and by the look of it Spade was ok with it by giving them more and more room.
He spotted a few eyes on him as his bulge was showing, a young bear winking at him while an old cougar raised her eyes, exasperated and mumbling something to herself. PowerWolf would have felt shame a few days ago for getting such a reaction in public, but he had no time to bother with that: they were expecting an answer.
“Both!" He typed, letting out a small whine despite being in public.
The response was quick to come as his phone's screen lit up again. “Good boy~"
Too distracted by the situation, the hero didn't pay attention to what was happening outside the bus until it was too late. An explosion burst near the window, making the car in the second lane lose control, drifting and hitting the front of the bus. The passengers were either losing their balance and falling to the ground, thrown at each other or holding onto the metal bars of the vehicle for their life.
******
He didn't have any super sense either, but being a wolf he still had a keen sense of hearing and smell, which was better than other species. From his previous years in the forces and his regular sessions at the gym, he also managed to build up a solid strength, allowing him to overpower most thugs and villains… At least for those not possessing super strength! He still had a few bruises from a previous encounter with a bad guy who sent him flying with a simple punch.
As he was driving around the city on his motorcycle, Winterfang sometimes wished he could fly. His green helmet covering his head and ears from the wind, the city's streets reflecting on his visors, he was passing between the cars as fast and best as he could. Being a street level hero wasn't the most glorious thing, but it was rewarding, and often allowed a faster reaction than the heroes taking care of bigger threats.
Remaining careful of his surroundings, he noticed a figure on top of a building. Before the brown wolf could identify it as a menace, the figure aimed at him and a ball of fire was shot in his direction. The hero hit the brake as fast as he could, the sudden decrease of speed making lose his balance and fall from his motorcycle, landing on the hard asphalt. His outfit was the stuff from super, made to resist assault and tough enough to “absorb" light damages, but he will probably earn another bruise from that fall.
Adrenaline rushing through his veins, it looked as if time was slowing down for him. He could see the flame hitting the car that he was passing, a loud bang echoing as one of the pneumatic exploded from the heat and made the vehicle went off to ram into a bus, while the cars behind him were doing their best to avoid him while slowing down in a concert of squealing tires, a road accident about to happen.
Breathing in deep to calm down and focus, Winterfang went into action.
Jumping on his feet, the heroic wolf lifted a hand towards the bus. He started to sweat, his body temperature increasing as the air around him cooled down at a fast rate. Concentrating his power, a pile of snow formed on the path of the bus, the long vehicle landing on its side and the white powder dampening the impact. Hopefully that would leave the passengers that were safe and sound.
Pushing on his limits, his eyes turned to the car that was catching fire. He rushed to it and did all he could to absorb the heat, the flames slowly dimming while he helped the driver out. His attention turned back to the cars behind him but there was little he could do for those, the traffic already halted and some cars having bumped into each other. Metal crushed or doors bent was visible on some of the vehicle, but luckily cars nowadays tended to preserve the passengers life over the car's integrity. The wolf lifted his head, trying to spot the fur that attacked him, but no one was in sight anymore.
With a heavy sight, he decided it was not worth trying to go after the unknown offender. The street was even more crowded now, people having exited the stores to look at what just happened, and the hero was panting, overheating due to the drawback of his power. He put on a brave smile and went around the cars, helping people get out of them, making sure everyone was safe.
By the time he reached the bus, he spotted another lupine, his fur mostly gray on the back, getting lighter on his muzzle, busy helping the people exit it. The gray wolf had something of a familiar face to him, Winterfang tried to sniff a bit the air but the smell of burning tire and the amount of people around covered anything he could have picked. His eyes still focused on the potential stranger, the other wolf spotted him, waving from inside the vehicle, fanning himself a bit as he lifted another person out, the effort probably intense for that citizen.
Shaking himself out of it, the brown wolf set himself in movement again, giving a hand to the last few who needed it, before searching for his bike. The people thanked him for his intervention, the wolf that he spotted in the bus was nowhere to be seen, weirdly leaving him slightly disappointed, while he started shaking hands, some passerby even requesting selfies! He happily complied with all their requests, correcting the few people that got his name wrong, calling him “Snowfang" or “Wintertooth", always keeping a nice smile on. He was still relatively new to the business, and the city was seeing more heroes and vigilantes by the day. Not everyone could reach the popularity of PowerWolf or Fierce. Thinking back of the muscular wolf hero brought a slight stir to his loin, which marked the perfect time for him to leave the place. He made the engine of his bike roar, for the sake of getting a few extra cheers, before speeding away. There would be other occasions to find the culprit of the attack, and he was awaited.

The Hero Alliance's headquarters was more a campus than the usual tower that could be found in other cities. It was divided in various categories, some even accessible to the public, like a small museum dedicated to the heroes, past and present, that protect Fishhook City. Of course kids loved to go to the gift shop to buy some exclusive collectibles. The heroic group even had their own conference room in case they had important news for the journalists, though most heroes preferred to head to their favorite talkshow, as PowerWolf did recently. They even had their own training facility, with a gym that could provide for both regular and enhanced strength, as well as a sparring room that could handle even the heaviest damage a hero's power could cause.
That's what Perrin had come to seek today.
After that bus attack, he felt like he needed to get a good workout and regain some focus. He was letting the villains get to his head too easily and that moment of inattention could have cost the life of dozens of people. Though to be honest it would have been hard for him to intervene without revealing his secret identity to all the passengers…
As he got in, he looked around the place.
It really looked like your regular gym, with a few people chatting between sets and working on their machine. Luckily for him there weren't too many heroes or employees present today. Besides a few women lifting enough to bench ten times his weight or a couple guys running faster than a race car on the treadmill, the place was deserted. As he changed in the locker room, he crossed the path of another wolf and dinosaur, he wasn't sure of their aliases though -something to do with sun- those two were still rookies.
Most heroes were still wearing their costumes at the gym, safe for a few who were “publicly out" and didn't bother to hide. For Perrin, he changed into a tank top and shorts, his mask still on, as well as his collar that never left him since that fateful night. He always preferred to avoid sweating more than necessary in his super outfit. No one wanted to be saved by a dirty looking and smelly hero!
He started with a simple warmup routine, followed by a quick run. Sure, the lupine could fly, but if you start neglecting your body for such trivial reasons, you will be let down at the worst moment. PowerWolf had to remain at his peak to inspire everyone in the city!
Having worked up a good sweat, he felt a buzz in his ear, the earcom activating as someone from the Hero's Alliance tried to reach him. With a frown on his face he rejected the call, he wasn't done just yet and didn't want to be interrupted.
The gray wolf moved to the bench and started loading the bar with weights. From the corner of his eyes he could spot one of the security cameras move in his direction. Looks like he would not be let alone for too long.
Regardless, he laid himself down and started doing bench press. He let himself drift off to the sound of the grunts of effort from the other people training, the metal clink of dumbbells meeting at the end of a lift, and the music blasting from the speakers. His ears flicked and lowered a bit, techno wasn't his favorite while working out, but that would still do. The big wolf's arms tensed as he lifted the bar, charged with over 500lbs on each side and slightly bending, it might have been designed for super but there were still some limits to what it could handle! Perrin slowly lowered the bar, until it met his pecs and pushed back, making sure his muscles worked properly and to feel the tension, releasing a slight huff. As he finished his last rep, he could feel the com buzzing once again, making him snarl.
“Not now…" He mumbled to himself, without picking up as he started on another exercise.
For sure next time they won't try calling but show up to him directly. Will it be Fierce asking him questions about his collar again, or maybe Blitz wanting to do another team up to get the front page in the news? The superhero was getting a bit tired of being the center of attention, maybe he should take a small vacation. Though it was a known fact for heroes that every time you went for a trip, you'd just run into a villain to stop, risking to expose your secret identity as your alter ego magically appeared on your holiday spot for no reason whatsoever. Maybe he should do like some other heroes and get a sidekick to delegate some work? He knew that in other countries top heroes had their own agencies to handle things.
He put down the dumbbells he was using for his curls, flexing a bit in front of the mirror, and feeling the good pump as his biceps popped nicely making his tail wag. His ears turned as he heard footsteps coming from the corridor, one advantage of enhanced super senses was to hear annoying people coming from afar to avoid them. He grabbed his towel and ran at high speed to the sauna room, closing the door behind him, not caring how stupid he'd look to enter it while still wearing his gym clothes. Inside the air was damp and fog filled the room which was only occupied by the younger wolf and dinosaur he saw on his way in the gym, and by the sheepish look on their faces and how far from each other they were sitting, something was definitely happening between them just before he entered. If they were going to play innocents, they were in for a ride as he wasn't in the mood. Back in his days, rookies knew how to behave, or at least not to get caught, and he was still alive so those were still his days!
Stripping down, he sat between them, and could clearly see them blushing at the sight of the city's “strongest hero" in the buff next to them. The other lupine in the room, his fur a lighter shade of gray than Perrin slowly slid closer to him, his eyes and facial traits covered in a similar mask, yellow and black instead of his own red, and by the look of it was at least 10 years younger than him. He could see the younger looking wolf open his mouth a couple times, eyes darting to him and away, probably mustering the courage to speak up to him.
“You're PowerWolf right?!" His voice probably came louder than the rookie wanted, as he became crimson and hid his muzzle in his paws.
“Got that right, and you're…" The super lupine kept digging in his brain, he knew close to nothing about that wolf, but didn't wanted to sound like an ass. “…Daylight?"
A muffled laugh came from the dinosaur on the other side of the room, who quickly looked away as Perrin glared at him, and he could spot for a second the other hero's tail being still before restarting its mad wagging.
“It's Daybreak actually. And the jerk laughing over there is Sol. But you heard of me, that's an honor Sir! I've been looking up to you since I was a pup!"
Now that felt rough for the super, that last phrase hit him almost harder than some villains could! He was still in his early thirties, but hearing that made him feel like an old mutt.
“Good, I will remember that name! Hope to see you soon in action to help me protect the city." His ears went back up as he plastered his best smile on his muzzle. The reaction of the less experienced hero was worth it, a massive honest smile appearing as he threw himself at the older hero for a hug. A very naked hug, and despite the damp air, with so little distance he could catch a whiff of the other gray wolf scent. There was something primal in that musk, reminiscing him someone like Spade, his feral brain screaming “Alpha" as he started nuzzling and breathing in deep Daybreak's neck, cock hardening, while the other rookie in the room watched intently. Wolves always had a good sense of smell, but enhanced by super powers, now that could lead you to the worst situation! His brain was starting to run crazy, wanting to kiss that youngster, flex and pose for him, be pinned under and fucked, maybe have that other hero join and fuck his muzzle… Was he really turning into a horny whore since his encounter with Blowhole and willing to go at anyone?
Before he could go any further though, they heard a knock on the door and PowerWolf was brought back to reality. He reluctantly let go and muttered some apologies before he stood up and walked away, quickly grabbing his shorts from the ground and putting them back on, covering his boner the best way he could, Daybreak and Sol watching him with a grin.
“You know where to find me." Dared to say that damn rookie, making Perrin blush under his fur, while he was trying to regain some composure. He would have to find him later though.
Behind the door stood a rat in a lab coat, a high member of the Alliance with super intelligence known as Cortex, accompanied by yet another wolf, brown and cream this one, wearing a green jumpsuit with fur highlighting his chest and neck, and short sleeves showing off his strong arms.
“PowerWolf, let me introduce you to your new partner, Winterfang!"
******
It had come to a surprise for Ryann to be tracked down by the Hero's Alliance. Sure they never took well on vigilantes “stealing" their job, but usually they glossed over it and allowed for them to proceed according to his intel. Yet after only a couple weeks of activities he was intercepted during one of his patrols by a couple of heroes that tried to recruit him, making him ecstatic at having his value recognized so fast!
Winterfang played it professionally, playing hard to get for another few days before finally accepting to meet up with the leaders of the Hero Alliance, for his official introduction. To his surprise, PowerWolf wasn't there, nor was he part of the leaders. He would have assumed so, considering how he was the real star and the one everyone looked up to in Fishhook City. Maybe he should have asked for more information on the power dynamic before parting ways with Blowhole…
Shaking his head, the brown wolf focused on something else than the bad guy as he was guided around the campus, he had paid close to no attention to what the rat escorting him was saying.
“And here we are." Said Cortex, as he knocked on the door. “Hopefully he will look decent."
For sure the rat himself looked decent. Under the lab coat he was wearing a dark blue suit that looked like regular spandex on the first look, but upon closer inspection was made of various pieces of metal articulated around one another. Knowing the super smart hero, no doubt they were hiding various gadget to support him in every situation. The lab coat was definitely to show off…
After a few seconds and some rumors coming from inside, the door opened, revealing the other super wolf, wearing little clothes, steam escaping from inside.
“PowerWolf, let me introduce you to your new partner, Winterfang!"
“I don't need a sidekick." Answered the super, after looking at Ryann from head to toe.
His ears flicked at the word, repressing a snarl but his fangs still showed slightly. The gray wolf stared back at him, his fur damp from the sweat, looking like he was still heating up despite being outside of the sauna.
“I'm-"
“This decision comes from Fierce. If you're not happy with it you should have stepped up as leader when given the opportunity, muscles." The lab rat cut short Ryann, and silenced the protest of PowerWolf in one go, both wolves keeping their ears low on their skull. “Now that we agree… No journalists meeting for you guys, Gérard thought it would be better to see the new power duo directly in action, so you, and your new partner, are on patrol duty tonight."
Cortex stormed out, leaving the two supers looking at each other.
“...Can you at least fly, sidekick?"
Winterfang swore he was going to kill the hero before the end of the day.
******
Above the streets of the city, people could witness their favorite red clad hero fly, slower and lower than usual, cheering at the sight though wondering why he wasn't going at his usual speed, while amidst the traffic a motorcycle was slaloming between cars. PowerWolf was almost more focused on not distancing his new sidekick than on what was happening in the city. If it wasn't for the powerful alarm that came from a nearby store, he would probably have missed the robbery.
Slowly reaching the ground as Winterfang got off his motorcycle, the two heroes walked towards the scoundrels making for an impressive sight. The green clad hero started to stretch his muscles, ice left on his trails while the wolf in red cracked his neck, extending his arm and stopping with his bare hands the bullets fired at him and his sidekick. PowerWolf couldn't help but throw a smug grin, both for the other hero, knowing full well he wasn't bullet proof, and for the robbers to let them know something like that wouldn't work.
“Should I leave them to you?" He shot a glance over his shoulder to the brown lupine. “There are only six of them."
“Seven." Said the new hero, pointing to a half frozen car with someone trapped inside. “You forgot to count the one in charge of the escape."
Perrin's ears flicked, his tail going rigid for a second, again feeling sweat running between his shoulders as he felt excessively hot. Maybe that new guy was not hopeless after all.
“Well done."
On the other side of the sidewalk, the criminals looked panicked, talking to each other, PowerWolf didn't need his enhanced hearing to know they were thinking of running away while the two heroes were bickering. Without waiting for a signal, he went for the closest, dashing toward him and hitting with as little strength as he could. Regular foes were always the problem for supers like him with colossal strength, you risked not only to incapacitate them but to do permanent damage or worse if you couldn't control yourself. Also it made the fights looking boring, no one flying away and traversing walls after a super punch strong enough to resonate over the whole block…
As soon as his fist made contact with the enemy he aimed at, he pivoted on himself, not even waiting to see the result of his action, changing angle and taking advantage of the momentum to kick another of the bad guys in the stomach, that will probably be enough to let the guy out of breath for the whole fight. That was two down already.
People were starting to gather and take their phones out either for pictures or videos of the heroes in action. The heroic wolf kept an eye out for them, not for the glory shot but to ensure none would put themselves at risk or end in a hostage situation.
Meanwhile the brown wolf was kneeling as ice quickly spread from his hands, a thin layer stretching over the boots and shoes of the gangsters, a simple move enough to immobilize all of them in one go. Such powers were definitely adapted for the situation, Perrin couldn't take it away from Winterfang. Moving like a breeze in between them, the hero clad in red quickly incapacitated the goons, bending their weapons in two or in a knot just for the show.
“I guess I got most of them." Said Winterfang with a smirk.
“Not bad for a sidekick's first day!" Answered the more experienced hero, putting an arm around his shoulder, raising a fist in victory saying it loud enough for all to hear as people were closing in and cheering for the duo.
All he could feel was the green clad hero's elbow digging in his hips before losing balance due to the ice, almost falling before being stopped by the other lupine.
“I guess PowerWolf still needs to get used to my powers!" Winterfang said, flashing a smile to the public, the crowd laughing. “But be sure we'll make a good duo once we're all set!"
About to answer, Perrin heard a buzz in his ears, followed by an all too familiar voice. “I don't think those guys were alone."
Like an all too familiar scene, he saw flames bursting from the inside of the store, two of the robbers still unable to move were taken in the fire as it progressed towards them. The danger and adrenaline made his brain run at high speed, feeling like the world was slowing down around him. Perrin quickly got back to his feet and extended his arms, muscles contracting and biceps stretching the spandex of his costume before slamming his hands together, the hair on his neck standing up and ears lowered, the force of the impact enough to create a shockwave.
A loud WHAM echoed in the street, the air moved by the impact enough to take down the flames, while several windows exploded and various car alarms went on as the vehicle was shaken. Behind him the civilians looked in shock and scared, the heroes needed to reverse the situation quickly.
Next to him Winterfang jumped on the burning bad guys, ice quickly taking down the fire and easing the pain. They were heroes but they still had to protect everyone.
“Those two will need medical help." Said the newly appointed hero, a finger to the temple as he was probably reaching out to the dispatch team that belonged to the Hero Association. Behind them the crowd was buzzing and quickly spreading after understanding the threat wasn't gone yet, while another person exited the store, fire burning behind him.
Perrin remained on edge, looking at the brown jump suit wearing dog facing him, muzzle covered by a visor, looking almost like a fireman, but he could still see the telltale spots of a dalmatian. That description didn't ring a bell to him, but it was already the second time in a week some fire incident happened to him, and the second time the rookie hero was there too.
“All should be purified by the fire of Vulcan!" Exclaimed the villain, making both wolves sigh loudly, of course the guy was a melomaniac.
Raising both arms, a big wave of fire went towards Winterfang, the brown wolf making a barrier of ice to stop it but it started melting quickly, giving him only enough time to take cover behind a trash container that soon followed the same fate.
Judging that the match was clearly to the disadvantage of his partner, PowerWolf told all the citizens to escape before flying at high speed towards the enemy. Watching him incoming, the canine splitted his fire aiming at both heroes at once, forcing the more experienced wolf to zigzag between the attacks, not managing to close in the distance despite his increased speed. Worse, every time he avoided the flames those were setting fire to trees, benches, storefront or whatever they landed on.
“Fuck…"
It was a losing situation, he had to take the attacks full on to avoid more damage and hope to take down the bad guy quickly or at the very least push him to escape so he and the new guy could stop the fire. Under him Winterfang was barely able to progress, his defensive walls melting as fast as he could make them, the villain almost tailored to defeat him.
“Running out of places to hide Winterfang?" Asked the villain, visibly enjoying the situation as he set a car on fire, trying to cut any escape road for the former vigilante.
Taking a slow breath, Perrin dodged a last assault before flying head on towards Vulcan. When the fire hit him he gritted his fangs, the pain was high but it would last only a few seconds, he had to push through it. His costume being reinforced it was barely affected but he could still smell the scent of burnt fur as some was burning on his muzzle. The laughing look of the villain was giving place to panic as he realized that an unstoppable force of nature was coming at him and was no longer dancing around in the air.
The evil canine made his first mistake, focusing all his flames on PowerWolf. The super crossed his arms, protecting his face at the cost of his vision, suppressing a yelp of pain from the scorching heat, he was very resistant to physical hit but that didn't mean he was immune to anything! Now the sole focus of the assault, the path was clear for Winterfang, the green jumpsuit wearing wolf now free to move and start dealing with the various fires that were infesting in the street by dumping snow on them.
The second mistake was thinking PowerWolf was coming for him, at that speed the hero would probably have killed him if the villain didn't had some enhanced resistance, that's why he was never using all his strength on the first hit. Instead the lupine crashed himself just in front of the fire hazard that he was fighting. The impact played two roles, it shook the ground in that vicinity enough to make the bad dog lose balance, and raised dust from the destroyed sidewalk, just long enough to blind him to the coming hit.
His fist shattered the visor of Vulcan on impact, and probably damaged part of his muzzle too. Judging by that, he knew the evil doer would go down quick against someone with super strength, and so the city's greatest hero had to hold back himself from going at full force. He quickly chained with a punch to the dog's gut, before adding an uppercut, literally making the bad guy flying a few feet off. Walking to his opponent, the wolf could see the dalmatian more clearly and confirmed he was passed out cold.
Raising a fist in victory, in case someone was still watching instead of going to a safe place, he turned around towards Winterfang.
“Guess I put his fire out." He grinned at the lame pun.
Shaking his head but smiling, the other lupine laughed, before raising his hand for a fistbump. “Thanks for having my back."
“Anytime." His ears raised as he could hear the police sirens incoming, probably still a couple blocks away. “Need help with the fire?"
Looking exhausted from the intensive use of his powers, the brown furred hero shook his head, mustering some more snow to put out another threatening flame. “I'm good."
He noticed the less experienced hero tail wagged for a bit, before looking in a direction.
“Police and firemen incoming, and maybe an ambulance too." Said Perrin.
“We can leave then." Winterfang was frowning.
“Don't want to have your little moment of glory for saving the day?"
“Nah, I tend to stay away from the cops, force of habit because-" He suddenly froze, looking left and right. “WAIT! Where is the bad guy?"
Thinking he was joking the hero in red turned, looking at where he had left the knocked out Vulcan, only to find nothing. “What the fuck?!"
Did he miscalculated? Was the villain actually dotted with super resistance? Or maybe it was some enhanced regeneration that allowed him to get back on his feet? The two of them really screwed up, but he wouldn't let himself down, they did stopped the robbery and managed to avoid any bystander being injured. From the corner of his eyes he could see the police turning in the street.
“It's ok, you still handled it great. Sidekick!"
“Jerk." The brown wolf punched his chest, Perrin making it bounce playfully.
Winterfang left ahead, getting back on his bike while PowerWolf remained behind explaining the situation to the police before following after him. The day wasn't over yet.

As they were sitting on top of a building, facing the port, Ryann let himself relax. The sunset view and the seagulls' chant was indeed soothing, and made for a good way to cool down from the patrol and that fight.
He remembered the last time he got this close to PowerWolf, all he could do was take it from the hero as he and his former partner were under control of bad guys. He didn't expect to run into an actual villain on his first day. Nor to let said bad guy escape…
“Still grumpy the guy escaped?" Asked the grey wolf, tilting his head.
“No it's not that it's just…"
It's incredible that now that the tension was gone, his body seemed in a rush for another kind of action. Remembering he had spent many nights wishing for another opportunity to meet the hero and get dirty, from sucking the gray wolf to mounting his ass or riding his cock.
“We did what we could, we still managed to stop him and no one was hurt." He offered him a smile. “Don't beat yourself, it's just your first day, newbie."
Ryann grunted, and didn't answer that jab.
“Damn… It's getting hot here." PowerWolf was looking back at him, the big hero sweating and venting himself a bit.
It was silly and petty, but every occasion he has had while around the hero, or when he looked at him, Winterfang had warmed up the air around them. Literally making the bigger male gets the hot for him.
“You know… I've heard a few rumors about you." Started Winterfang, getting closer.
“Such as?" Answered the more experienced hero, a slight look of annoyance on his muzzle, still looking like he was overheating.
“That you are the greatest hero of this city. That you have no weaknesses. That the only reason you aren't at the head of the Alliance is because you refused the spot."
He was now chest to chest with the stronger hero. This close he looked really handsome, torso broader than his, just an inch or two in difference between them, the heat increasing.
“You're just flattering me. You don't need that to, uh… Become my sidekick." The taller super was now panting, tongue lolling out of his muzzle.
“But also that you work with a bad guy. That you went under a cop. And you aren't the first submissive guy I see wearing a collar, I saw quite a few while working as a stripper, first hero though." The brown lupine's voice became more of a growl, his hand grabbing the rubber band around the other male's neck.
“H-hey! Careful now…" PowerWolf started answering, cut short by the tug, his cock taking over his brain as this made him think of how things usually went with either Blowhole or Spade, his shaft growing in his costume.
“Damn, not even wearing a cup to hide it while going on patrol?" Winterfang said, staring at the obvious shaft trapped in. He reached out, hand groping and fondling that package, making the strong hero shivers and moans, his ears lowering in submission. Taking his best commanding voice from his former days as a Sergeant, he let out a deep growl. “Strip."
To his surprise, and pleasure, the bigger male complied. Reaching behind his back the muscular wolf lowered the zipper before pulling his costume down, first exposing his plump pecs, covered in a softer gray fur matching his muzzle, then down to his hips as he revealed all of his broad body that his hard workout and power enhanced to the epitome of manliness. Finally, he pulled it even lower, freeing his already impressive shaft that was still growing, and thick legs that supported all of him, his costume now resting on the ground and around his boots. PowerWolf definitely was the biggest wolf of the city in every way, and he stood there tail between his legs, like a submissive puppy.
“You still don't remember me do you?" Ryann was still growling, flashing his fangs, pressing the stronger wolf against the wall, his hand fondling the other hero's junk. “Maybe this will help then."
Going on his knees he took a sniff of the familiar cock and passed his tongue over it. PowerWolf shivered above him, letting a soft puppy whine out while his cock throbbed, making the brown wolf grin before engulfing it in his maw.
He might have bitten more than he could chew, but that didn't stop him. One hand fondling the fuzzy orbs of the city's champion and the other jerking the base of that shaft, he started bobbing his head. Lewd slurping sound started to echo around them as the sidekick sucked faster, big tongue working all around the bone in his maw, circling around it and passing over the head of it, while the hero huffed and his hands literally digged hole in the wall as he clenched his fist, crushing the bricks with his super strength.
“You…" The titular superhero was panting and moaning, having a hard time to form a full sentence. “You were aaaaah… One of those two cooooops nnngh right?"
Ryann looked up to him and nodded, not letting the tasty cock he had in his maw leave. He was proud of his muzzle skill, going lower every time before he soon could take all of PowerWolf's shaft in. He kept giving gentle squeeze to that heavy sack while his free hand went to feel the abs of the taller wolf, claw slightly scratching the bigger male as he ran them through the soft fur.
“Mmmmmphhh yeaaah like that!" Was all PowerWolf could say, giving small hips thrust to get deeper in that warm muzzle.
They went on a bit longer, the brown wolf's jaw starting to feel sore, but as soon as he could taste the first bit of pre, he pulled out. Getting back on his paws, He could see the gray wolf turning around, back arched and ass out, tail raised to offer himself like a bitch in heat.
Winterfang smacked that rump before grabbing him by the collar.
“Lay down hero. I have other plans for you."
He silenced any potential protest with a deep kiss, his fist still clenched on the rubber band around PowerWolf's neck. The taller lupine kissed back, sucking his tongue in and pulled him in a tight hug, his still rock hard cock pressed between them, leaking some pre over his outfit.
Once they broke apart, the more experienced hero obeyed, while Ryann unbuckled his belt and took off his jumping suit, letting both wolves in the buff on top of that roof. He straddled the bigger male, his cheeks teasingly pressed against that cock, the former cop slash gogo dancer used to giving lap dances.
“I am NOT your sidekick, but your partner." His clawed fingers found the other hero's nipple, teasing and pinching them a bit, while his tail slowly wagged, brushing over the gray wolf's cock.
“From now on, it's Winterfang, got it?"
“Yessir!" PowerWolf nodded fast, apparently used to respond to dominance.
“Good hero."
He kept his hand on the stronger lupine's chest, pushing a bit to lift himself slightly, aligning his hole with that mighty pole of flesh. As he slowly lowered himself, he could feel it penetrate him, gritting his fangs as it was bigger than what he was used to. Once he felt the other hero's hips against his rump, he stopped to relax.
Under him, PowerWolf flexed a bit, pressing his chest against those hands while looking up at Ryann, one hand passing over the brown furred chest. The former cop clenched his ass, feeling the massive cock invading him, his warm inside quickly coated in pre, hips gyrating a bit without pulling up.
“Big and strong… Perfect dildo!" Winterfang said with a growl, reminding who was in charge, making the bigger wolf whimper.
Putting his legs to work, he slowly started lifting himself up, feeling the big cock slide out of him before impaling himself on it again until he could feel those balls and hips against his cheeks. His eyes remained on the other lupine, grabbing one of PowerWolf's wrist and guiding his hand to his own needy dick, making him stroke it.
“Fuck you're a big guy…"
The super strong hero nodded, bucking his hips to trust in but Ryann let out a loud growl, stopping him. Applying more weight on that powerful chest, even if that was far from enough to stop him from moving, the brown wolf kept his slow rhythm going, his cock leaking pre over his partner's paw.
“Don't think I said you could move." Winterfang said with a playful grin, but meant every word.
Riding that dick was giving him such a kick. He could feel it press his button every time he slid back down on it, and having that hero who could easily lift him with just one hand pinned under him and obeying was just the cherry on top.
As he was building a good rhythm, he could feel the piece of meat throb and leak inside him, stretching his hole a bit wider, while the gray wolf under him had his eyes closed and was biting his lips. The strong hand holding his cock was going faster, jerking and squeezing him as if trying to milk him.
“Nnngh… Not just yet… Hold on a bit longer… MMMMPHH!!"
Reaching behind him, Ryann grabbed the taller lupine's balls, giving them a light squeeze to remind him who was in charge, as his ass clenched teasingly the shaft inside him. He wanted to cum badly, and wanted the hero to fill him up as bad, but he was going to make him earn it.
Panting and huffing, you could see PowerWolf was doing all he could to not burst just now. His claws were digging into the building's roof, as he tried to channel his strength, to keep himself from thrusting and to not lose it right away, while Winterfang was drooling, tongue out and grinding his ass into those hips to feel that fat cock inside him. He just needed to last a little longer.
“Please!!" The bigger hero whined, chest heaving with every breath as he was losing control. “Please Winterfang!"
“Cum." Managed to articulate the brown wolf, on the verge of orgasm too.
They reached ecstasy at the same time, howling together.
Ryann could feel the shaft inside him twitch violently as the warm feel spread inside him. Rope after rope of semen pumped inside him, to the point he almost feared he'd see his belly bulge. He kept grinding his hips, milking all he could out of PowerWolf, while his own cock erupted. His seed splattered over the broad torso and up to the muzzle of his new partner, his cock throbbing in that strong hold as he was grunting and enjoying one of the best rides of his life.
As the heat slowly died down, he leaned toward the other wolf, booping their snout together, his hand roaming over the powerful chest to smear his cum on that fur, growling a bit as he clenched his ass over the shaft in his hole.
“Mmmmph… That's a good job, my hero. Will have to try and see if you're as good as taking as you're at giving next time."
“Anytime you want, partner." PowerWolf was blushing under him, ears lowered and chest puffed out, tails between his legs and cock throbbing, a hot and sexy wolf submitting to his sidekick.
Ryann grabbed the bigger wolf's collar, pulling him in a kiss, and almost felt bad for having to get up, feeling his hole empty, making both males whine and moan. He started putting his outfit back on, keeping his eyes on PowerWolf as he was doing the same, each wolf wearing the other's scent. The gray lupine suddenly lifted his head, ears flicking.
“Looks like we've more work to do."
Winterfang looked around thinking someone was now on top of the building with them. No one was in sight, and soon after he heard the faint sound of police sirens in the streets, indicating some crime going on. He jumped from the roof of the building, snow starting to gather to secure his landing while PowerWolf started to fly off.
“Time to jump back into action!"
******
“So you say there is nothing to worry about?"
“Nope." Ryann said, shaking his head.
In front of him were the leaders of the Hero Alliance, in their private meeting room, sitting around a table while he had to stand on his paws. A few holographic images were floating above the table, some showing their latest intervention against those robbers, others of PowerWolf flying next to him as he was driving his moto. Between regular journalists and smartphones, he wasn't surprised that some pics of the two of them were already circulating… And even less surprised that the Alliance had put their hands on those. But he was glad another of their activities wasn't caught by anyone.
Winterfang and PowerWolf had been a duo for two weeks already, and apparently that's how much it took the head of the alliance to make their move on interrogating him. Internally, the former cop wondered if it was amateurism or just them panicking and acting too quickly, he knew it would take months to properly investigate a suspected traitor.
“Do you have any evidence that something changed on his side?" Asked again Fierce, staring him down.
His ears flicked and he lifted his muzzle, staring back at every hero sitting around the room.
“The only evidence I have are the ones you're showing yourselves. PowerWolf is a hero and is attached to his city like that collar on his neck." He mentally thanked Blowhole for suggesting him this kind of answer.
Cortex gave him a quizzical look, his eyes seemingly piercing through his skull, Ryann might have a harder time convincing the brain of the Hero Association. Yet to his surprise the rat was the one calling this off, standing up before looking at the lioness at his side.
“Enough of this, Fierce. I played along with your game, and it's leading us nowhere. If he tells the truth, you won't believe him, and if he lies, you won't be able to prove it." He put on his lab coat and walked towards the exit of the room. “You're just going to hurt the trust the other heroes put in us."
Winterfang could see a flash of anger pass on the muzzle of the lady in charge, and Fearless quickly tried to appease her. Gears turning in his head, the brown wolf opened his muzzle again. It would be risky but it was the right time to play victims.
“So that's why you wanted me in? Play moles? Does that mean you're gonna push me away from the Association now that I'm done being useful?"
The only hero in the room that appeared genuinely sorry was Blitz, a member that could manipulate electricity, and according to the rumor mill, the only one that was opposed to letting Winterfang in in the first place.
“No, of course not. For a former vigilante you adapted quickly…" The ursine started.
“And your ratings as a duo went high very fast!" Chirped in the costumeless horse, sitting in a corner. “There are already some fanarts and fictions of you and PowerWolf circulating in the various socials."
That broke the tension in the room, and made the brown lupine blush a bit.
“Gérard, please… Stop." Eventually Fierce spoke, after regaining her calm. Her eyes then turned back to the green clad hero. “Of course you're not going anywhere. There is no denying you are working well as a duo. Let me make it more official."
She walked around the table and up to the wolf, followed by Fearless and Blitz, before extending a hand, the Winterfang grabbed with a smile.
“Welcome to the Hero Association!" Exclaimed the three supers, as the snap of a photo being taken could be heard.

In the middle of the sidewalk, dressed as a civilian, Perrin kept looking in front of him. Facing him was the door to the Black Brew, the sign indicating it was open. His instinct was fighting to either walk in or escape from the place, the collar on his neck feeling heavy and as if choking him, but this was just in his mind and not a trick played by the orca. As he looked inside, his eyes crossed the cetacean's, who smiled and waved at him. He sighed and walked in.
“Hey handsome!"
The grey wolf couldn't help but smile and wag at the greeting. He sat at the counter and ordered an espresso.
His inside was turning in a knot, he wanted to speak to the killer whale, but wasn't sure how to go about it. What he was sure of is that he needed to clear things up and knew where he stood with the villain.
“I slept with another guy." Blurted the wolf.
Behind the counter, he could see his cup overflowing with coffee, and at least another customer or two seemed to lean in slightly. Drama was always quick to catch someone's attention, and he could hear patrons commenting on how the owner had a thing for wolves.
“Was that S…" He caught himself before saying the doberman's villain name. “Someone I know?"
Technically his first encounter was in the presence of the villain, but would the orca remember that? Then again, knowing how the bad guy liked to set pawns left and right, there was no way to know, so he went for the most straightforward answer he could give in public.
“I met him at work."
“Well I don't remember us being exclusive." Said the monochrome male, turning his back to him. The collar feeling tighter on his neck this time wasn't just his stress or anxiety, but really the villain's doing.
“Mmmphh…" That answer stung a little. “That's why I wanted to tell you about it. Between that and the attack the other day, I've been thinking a lot about us and…"
“Wait, what attack?" The look of surprise and worry on the villain's face spoke volumes.
Perrin was hesitant for a second, but since that happened as he was in civilian clothes, there was no risk telling it in public that would track back to his super identity.
“Some random fire villain attacked a bus I was on a few weeks ago. Didn't recognize him, he might be some low profile baddy. Like Blowhole." He threw an easy jab, just to tease, cause he didn't manage to finish what he was saying before.
The orca frowned for a second, indicating it worked. “I see… What were you saying about thinking about us?"
Leaning over the counter, the tall wolf grabbed him by the apron and pulled him in a kiss, under the cheers and woots of the clients still at the bar, even those waiting behind him seemed to stop complaining.
“I want us to be an us."
With red cheeks, the orca nodded slightly, taken by surprise at the show of affection, and by the wolf taking the lead. “But… You know our work… Hours don't really align?"
“And yet I'm here, while you're working and I'm free." Perrin stood firmly. He knew it would be extremely complicated, but that villain had caught his heart and he'd find a way to make things right between them.
“You idealistic dummy…" The orca smiled despite that. “But what about my other clients?" He asked, trying to make it clear he liked his run with other heroes, or a couple fellow villains.
“You know I can… Accommodate them." He said blushing, thinking of their threesome with Spade or their previous encounter with the former cop turned super and the fun they had on top of the building, and in a back alley, and at the HQ gym, his pants feeling tighter and doing a much better job than his costume to hide his erection. His mind then went to that rookie and he grinned. “If I can meet some too."
“Huff… Fine then! Let's try this." This time it was Grit who initiated the kiss, forgetting about the world for a bit as their lips met and tongue danced together, until a cough brought them back to reality.
A labrador was rumbling and frowning. “I'm still waiting for my coffee."
******
His fist slammed into the villain's muzzle, the sound of the jaw cracking in his ears as a tooth was flying away in his peripheral vision.
Blowhole had lost his temper after running into the lower rank villain that was Vulcan, and learning someone hired him to get rid of one of his hero pups. While he usually restricted his powers to generating rubber from his hands, thus making people focus on his gloves and open themselves to other attacks and not to drain his mental energy to fast, the killer whale was currently surrounded by tendrils of goo, some coiled around his prey, keeping it an inch off the ground and facing him. His fist still shaking, the bad guy tried to contain himself, breathing slowly.
Tracking him down had been easy enough, between pulling a few strings, calling in a favor from a fellow villain and accessing some of the Hero Association database through a well placed backdoor, he quickly found where the canine had escaped after his defeat.
“I'm feeling in a particularly good mood today, so I'm giving you one last chance."
“Fuck you…" The dog snarled, before spitting in the orca's face.
“You're not my type." Answered the orca without flinching. “Who hired you?"
His eyes darted to the canine's limbs, hands tied to his hips and covered in big balls of rubber that were slightly bubbling probably from the heat coming from inside. Luckily for him Vulcan could generate fire only there, a reason why he remained at the bottom of the food chain. Though there was a fire in his eyes for sure! For a second Blowhole even considered the possibility to break him into a good henchman…
The dog remained silent for a bit, until the pressure the rubber put on his hands and arms augmented, not enough to break anything, but certainly enough to make him yap in pain.
“...I can't… If I tell you I'm dead meat!"
“You could end the same way by refusing to speak." The killer whale gave him his most frightening predatory smile.
“You don't get it! He will know the second I say it, that guy is twisted!"
Now that made the orca raise an eyebrow, so to speak. Villains being hired for a robbery was one thing, to take down a hero now that was rare, but to take down a vigilante that barely had time to make a name for himself? Now that was unheard of. The cetacean couldn't shake the feeling there was something more behind it, pondering if that had to do with the incident from a couple months ago, but as he opened his mouth to press on more he noticed the other bad guy was foaming, eyes rolling back.
“Hey! HEY!! What's happening?!"
Blowhole let go of his hold, his rubber loosing up and dripping to the ground, releasing the canine. The guy fell on the ground, body limp. As the super villain leaned to verify if he was still breathing, he heard police sirens incoming. His head started ringing and feeling dizzy as an aftermath of using his power, having to lean against the wall for support, knowing he was running out of time. Was he being framed? Blowhole needed to find a way out…
