Man asks a tiger the question
Blue eyes half liddiedly gazed across the felt drawing table to you, pearly white teeth greeted you with a smile, and orange ears perked up and shifted toward you. Sitting at the table was Lucy, to you Kitten, the tiger whom you loved ever since you saw her all those years ago.
“I drew all over the table.” she said with a smile. She was in a stunning blue dress, no not the dress, she was the stunning one. Anything she was in was beautiful, she could dress in rags and still look like a princess.
“Looks like you had fun.” you said as you sat next to her. She offered a grin and continued to draw her flowers on the table, with a noticeable tail wag that was mysteriously missing before you sat down.
Returning to her drawing, she quickly got back into focus. Her face scrunched up and eyebrows came together, quickly morphing into her concentrated face. All the while her slight grin never left. Looking at her face every detail was lit up without her blocking any of her features. From her near symmetrical black stripes to her cheek tuff, everything about her was perfect. Her ears were adorned with pearl studs and around her neck was a string of them.
Waving to and fro was her whiskers moving with her muzzle as she drew her trees, now finished with her flowers. Her eyes danced as they sparkled from the light all around them only interrupted by her slow blinks. The end of her muzzle was tipped with her cute pink nose and surrounded by creamy white fur.
She is the epitome of femininity, and you wanted her.
But she said no.
She was finishing up drawing a house now.
“Who’s going to live here?” you asked Kitten.
Without even missing a beat she answered “A farmer, his wife and their children.”
“How many children?”
“Five of them, there has to be five. Three girls and two boys.”
“That's a lot.”
“With another on the way. I think the farmer would like another boy, his wife would want another girl and all the boys and girls are just excited to have another sibling… doesn’t that sound just quaint.” she finished. “But something is missing.”
Picking up a chalk piece you draw a simple stick tiger with a dress, “the wife silly.” you whisper to her, “And the farmer.” you say while adding him, “and the children.”
“There.” she whispers back, “perfect.” she says while finally looking at you.
“Yes, just perfect.”
The two of you stared back at the drawing on the table. Your heart was pounding. Kitten’s mother just said she was scared and not ready, could she be now? You needed to find out, but just asking was out of the question.
Now.
“Lets play a game.” you say to her, you turn the table getting an undrawn piece. “I’m going to write a letter and you're going to guess the word.”
Already starting with the letters she responded, “But you can’t guess, that's impossible.”
“Here.” you say as you write out your riddle.
WYSNDYMFOJT
Kitten stared at you uncertain at first but her curiosity quickly overwhelmed her as she looked at your letters.
“Who,” a brief shake of your head interrupted her, “what”
No it wasn’t that either
“When” you helped her.
She nodded a couple of times before continuing, “When you?” yes yes she was on the right track.
“When you said… no.”
Her voice was low. You could practically feel her heart racing, she knew exactly what you were asking. “When you said no did you mean forever or just then.” her eyes were staring to welt up with tears. She looked into your eyes and whispered, “Just then.”
She took the chalk piece and wrote her own message on the table

“I… I wish”
“Want…”
“I want…” your mouth was dry “you … to f… f”
“Forgive”
“I want you to forgive me”
You chanced a caress of her cheek. She placed her paw over yours and purred into it, gulping “There is nothing to forgive.” you say, “I have never stopped loving you.
“I never stopped loving you.” Kitten whispered back to you.
Your breath catches in your throat. She just said the words that you've always wanted her to say, she said them and she meant them. She loved you so and you loved her with all your heart. Your ears were pounding with the sound of your own heartbeat. You knew what you had to do. With chalk in hand.
Now.
WYMM
Kitten let her tears flow freely now, “yes” She simply whispered, “Yes, I will.”
Taking her paws in both of your hands you bring them up to your lips and give them a chaste kiss before wrapping them around your own neck and wrapping your own around her own.
Turning your head you bring your lips close to hers and she does the same. Everything that happened before, how she broke your heart disappeared, they were gone. Just the two of you existed right now and it was perfect.
