Sorry no Yiff in this one either, sorry, just want to get the story rolling along before anything naughty happens in the story, heh!

PART FIFTY FIVE.

B laze had gone on ahead she had become like a blur as those powerful battle hardened muscles powered her across the uneven dirt road towards Evolution Town while inhuman reflexes kept the bipedal bird from tripping and stumbling as she made her way swiftly to Pokémon Center. Jack was only just clearing the tree line by the time the Blaziken had passed into the town itself, Toph, bunny and Oni had stayed with him so he wouldn’t be left helpless should some wild Pokémon decide he was easy prey to attack.

At the Pokémon Center Nurse Joy looked up as a fierce looking Blaziken burst through the doors all most breaking them from her entrance, a shrill cry like some bird of prey leaving her beak snapping the Joys attention fully on the fighting type then to the horrifying sight of the Lucario in Blaze’s arms.

“OH MY!”

She announced raising a hand to her mouth before beckoning the Blaziken over, turning her head she gave a nod to one of her Audino’s who was already fetching one of the stretcher trollies. Blaze looked down into Lucy’s face giving her a light jerk every time the canine Pokémon looked as if she was about to close her eyes.

“Stay with me!”

The Blaziken snapped sternly as the stretcher was wheeled over allowing her to lay the weak fragile looking Pokémon down over it, Blaze followed after Joy heading down one corridor then up another before stopping by the wide double doors of one of the emergency rooms. She couldn’t go any further she knew this without having to be told, Joy gave her an appreciative smile as she heading in.

It wasn’t until a good forty minutes before Jack along with the rest of the tea arrived at the lobby the Human panting deeply for air, the Lopunny, Weavile and Espeon showed no such signs of exhaustion but they did share the same look of concern about their faces.

“A…*pants*…Blaziken…*gasps*…and an injured…*pants*…Lucario”

He panted and spluttered to an Audino manning the reception desk still trying to catch his breath, she raised a flipper like hand stopping him mid-sentence saying softly in a slow clam voice.

“The Lucario is being seen to, please catch your breath then I’ll take you to your Blaziken.”

Jack smiled faintly as he crouched over grasping his knees trying to focus on taking slow deep breaths, minuets passed and he caught his breath. Feeling sure the Human wasn’t going to keel over she gave a curt nod while slipping her flipper into his hand and led him away as another of the Centre’s Audino’s took her place.

“Please this way”

Her sweet soft voice chimed, her presence for some reason made him feel more at ease and relaxed as if there wasn’t anything at all to be worried about. Jack wondered if this was due to her being half Fairy Type but he kept this line of thought to himself.

“Thank You!”

He whispered earning him a slow smile that felt like the warm comforting arms of his mother wrapping around him when he had been a tiny child, the smell of the freshly baked bread she would pull out form the oven then after the wait for it to cool down enough so he could have a slice. The memory of how it smelled and tasted as the butter melting on the still warm freshly baked bread, it was a strange sensation but at the same time reassuring one that was beyond any real comparison for him. Jack wasn’t sure how the Audino was doing this only that it was nothing to do with mental powers of psychic, whatever it was he was grateful as the despair of what he had witnessed upon coming across Lucy dropped from him like a dead weight.

He was led by hand to the waiting room that was adjacent to the treatment room, it was décor was spartan at best plane white wall’s ceiling and floor tiles with only a long pew against one wall while a vending machine with a bin stood up against the other at the far end. Just under the window radiator sat idly while a small rack of leaflets on Pokémon care as well as the odd officially endorsed products endorsed by the Pokémon League hung in racks screwed on to the wall alongside the door that led into the room. Taking a seat Logan spotted Blaze leaning against the window looking out and headed over to her easing his arms around, his brow leaning between her shoulder blades. The Blaziken didn’t try to shrug him away or say anything, she just looked out of the window into the Pokémon Centres garden area.

“Its Disgusts Me!”

Blaze growled in a low voice, turning around in his arms she draped her own around the back of Jack’s neck drawing herself in close resting the side of her beak against the top of his head as she continued to speak.

“I was ready to burn that Lucario alive if ever I met her, especially after seducing you back in Grass Veil, yet after seeing her like that all I could feel was sorrow and pity. I think I can understand why she would have stolen a night with you.”

Leaning his face against the side of her thick muscular neck Jack just held her tears slowly running down his face and onto her feathers, he was faintly aware of Oni looking over with an expression that said she too had been thinking the exact something.

“Some Humans can be utter monsters”

Bunny whispered her eyes closed as she fought back the tears, she didn’t even know the Lucario but she still felt sick to the very pit of his stomach. The Espeon just laid their partly over the Lopunny’s lap her eyes closed as she silently agreed with the Rabbit Pokémon’s opinion. She thought back to her first experience with a Human in Evolution Park the place she had been born raised and found her first Trainer, it was a bitter sweet time that Toph both loved as much as she hated it.

Closing her eyes as she felt Bunny’s paw gently stroking the fur along her side the Espeon’s mind drifted back to where she had been hatched, the park contained various environments designed to be comfortable for each of the many different Eeveelutions. It had been one of the more happier times in her life when she had been so naive back then believing she was being held back from something better beyond the walls of the Pokémon preserve, she had been so young ad foolish back then believing she knew better and that the Pokémon Rangers where just kill joys who didn’t want her to have fun. She wished she could go back in time and show her foolish self what would happen if she left the safety of Evolution Park.

Toph felt her memories fast forward to her adolescents when she had dug her way under the walls as an Eevee having ignored her mother’s warnings never to do so, she had half starved and narrowly avoided becoming a meal for other Pokémon before she had been found by a trainer. He had been so kind so loving as he nursed her back to health that she had gladly allowed herself to be caught by the young boy, in time their friendship allowed her to evolve into an Espeon strengthening their friendship. The Human was not that skilled Battling but with her new evolved form she was able to help him win tournament after tournament, after a while her Trainer had started to take all the credit for himself not that she cared since all that mattered to her was his happiness.

In a few short years the gentle caring boy she had known had become a teenager drunk on both fame and victory that he had become deluded in thinking the undefeated winning streak was all due to his prowess in controlling Pokémon. Gone was the long time friend she had loved so dearly, in his place was an abusive self cantered Human who demanded that she and the rest of his Pokémon team won, even then in-spite of all the torment she had been put through Toph could not let go of the memories of who he had once been, it was for this reason alone that she continued to do everything in her power to make him happy. But nothing ever seemed good enough, if she pushed her mind to breaking point he would expect her to do even better next time regardless of how much it hurt her or left her mentally exhausted.

Eventually or more accurately inevitably his bragging and victories brought him to the attention of a band of notorious Pokémon Poachers, they did not bother to take him on in a Pokémon Battle rather they ambushed him in his own home where they beat him to death. She was forced to watch too weak to save her Human as his other Pokémon refused to lift even so much as a paw to stop the savage beating, afterwards she sold to some bloated rich woman that looked upon Toph as little more than some addition to her collection of Eeveelutions.

One night she had taken her Pokéball and escaped the woman’s mansion, the other Pokémon in the woman’s collection thought the Espeon to be insane to want to give up a life of decadent luxury though all the psychic type had wanted was to find her way back home to Evolution Park. Some tried to stop her only to be found next morning as little more than drooling vegetables their minds completely shattered. For the next few years she used her mental powers to manipulate the minds of those Humans as she journeyed near and far in her search, her quest eventually led her to partnership with the Team Rocket officer Ahsoka.

Opening her eyes she looked over to Jack and sighed faintly, in some ways he reminded her so much of her original trainer before he had changed yet in other ways Jack was so much more different from the Human’s she had knew. His compassionate nature was as endearing as it was infuriating, she would give him the best females to mate with, win him so much glory so much fame he would become a legend in his own right but that wasn’t what he wanted. The Human had the potential to become the next Regional champion even without her aid and yet he showed no ambition towards this only a desire to visit Evolution Park made him a useful resource.

The moment this last part entered her mind she a sense of shame at even thinking about Jack being just mere means to an end, her eyes suddenly widened as she realised the truth she cared deeply about. Toph didn’t know how or why but over just the short time they had been together the Espeon tried to buy Jack’s affections be it with excellent female breeding stock or utilizing her powers to aid him in times of need.

The truth was he had already been giving her unconditional love; he had never once forced her to do anything if anything he had gone out of his way to accommodate her.

Part of her wanted to scream and runaway to deny what she was feeling then as she looked around at the other three females of their little group, a Psychotic, a Savage Brute and the Sex Addict. Toph found herself feeling at ease amongst this dysfunctional mismatched lunatics who when putting their differences aside could pull off the impossible. Taking one more look over at Jack her eyes closed as a male plays across her inhuman lips and she settles down once more partly over the Lopunny’s lap a decision made, she surrender her trust to this Human. Only this time she would be more mindful this time around even if it meant protecting him even from himself.
