Chapter 2: Weird things are happening

##

The next morning, Toby's alarm clock made its usual noise and had to ring quite a long time until he got up. Understandably, Toby could hardly sleep last night, but for him it was the best night he ever had. He didn't want to go to school today, but what did he have to say about that. Some of his classmates had the courage to play truant, but he didn't. If he ever did something like that, he'd think about it for weeks. Even the minor social interactions ruined his emotional state for the rest of the day if they didn't go perfectly. That's the problem with being on the autistic spectrum, and one of the many reasons he likes the world of anthropomorphic animals so much. In this world nobody mocks each other, and everything is as peaceful, loving, and in his head, how it's supposed to be.

As he walked to the school building where his course took place, he saw his friend Jake sitting on the bench in front of the building entrance as he did every morning.

Jake is Toby's best friends since the fifth grade and has come out to him as bisexual a few years ago. Since then they've started 'experimenting' a couple of times, but nothing mayor. Toby enjoyed memories of these 'experiments' a lot since it was his only time he was able to suck dick in real li-, well, the real real life. This meant that they're very open to each other and tell each other new findings that they discovered. But today, Toby had something really specia-, or should he say spicey to tell Jake. He just couldn't tell him out in the open, so he had to wait until the first break, where they had time to go to a less crowded place.

“Hey Toby!" came the greeting from Jake as he saw Toby walking towards him.

“Hello Jake," Toby responded weakly.

“You look like you just ran a marathon!" Jake noted.

“Is it so obvious?" answered Toby in annoyance.

“What did you do?" Jake was really interested to know since Toby normally never looked like this.

“Had a rough night, but it was really awesome. Gonna tell you more about it later," Was Toby's answer.

“Oh...Ok," Jake murmured.

“Hey lonely!" a voice shouted from the distance.

“Have my money ready?" Came the voice again.

“Oh shit, that's Jeremy, I...I totally forgot to bring it with me," Toby anxiously whispered to Jake.

Jake could clearly see that Toby was overloaded.

Jeremy was one of the bully's that still goes to school and had forced Toby into an arm wrestling the other day. Toby obviously lost, and now the guy wants money from him because he lost.

Due to his anxieties, Toby didn't dare to say he had forgotten, so he just kept quiet. Jeremy didn't like that however and quickly walked towards them.

“Maybe your looser friend has something?!" he said while walking in a fast pace towards them.

Toby got really nervous and didn't want Jeremy to hurt his best friend. He was the only one he got.

When Jeremy arrived, he took grip of Jake's shirt and something inside of Toby clicked in that moment and he rammed his fist into Jeremys face. Jeremy was thrown to the ground and his face started to bleed instantly. Toby had so many questions running through his head: Why did I have the courage to do this? Why did I have so much strength?

“Oh...oh...I...I'm so sorry Jeremy!" Toby managed to mutter.

After a moment Jeremy got up, snarled “Freak!", and slowly walked away. He didn't want to get seen like this or make a big scene out of it, so he just left.

“What was that? You never dare to do something like that!" Jake commented.

“I know, I know! That wasn't me! Something inside me just clicked and...and..." Toby murmured.

“Ok, ok. I guess it's for the better. That guy will probably never dare to come near you any time soon," Jake noted.

“I guess...but I still don't get how I got the strength to do that!?" Toby asked confused.

“It's probably you're adrenalin. When you're in a fight state, you gather all the strength you have to get the best chance in winning. It's a nature thing," Jake explained.

“You're probably right, but it was still really weird," Toby said.

After four as usual boring school hours, Toby had PE. He hated physical education, but there was one thing he enjoyed every time: watching his classmates get changed. Today was no different, he tried, as usual, to take a look inconspicuously, but he didn't feel the usual tingling in his pants but instead felt an unpleasant burning sensation on his left shoulder. He quickly put a hand on his shoulder but quickly pulled it back when he felt something flaky. He couldn't quite process what he was feeling but understood it immediately when he checked it visually. “Are these scales?!" he whispered to himself. How could that be? Do I have a genetic disorder? I have to ask Jake, he's pretty good in biology!

He continued dressing and joined the class in the Stadium. It was the time of the year where they did sports outside, and the teachers often used this to teach endurance. Toby hated this topic the most, he was always the last at the 1-mile (~1.6km) run. But what could he do about it, he wouldn't be able to cope with the bad emotions if he would disobey the teacher's orders.

After the voluntary run-in, which Toby of course didn't take, everyone gathered at the starting line. The teacher whistled and Toby subconsciously just ran off. He had so many thoughts running through his head and didn't really concentrate on running. After some time, he was torn out of his thoughts when he heard his name: "Toby, 6 minutes 35 seconds. Well done!"

Wait, what?! The teacher must have miscounted his rounds, he was never faster than 20 minutes.

Toby stood there dumbfounded. “Are you sure, Mr. Morgan?" Toby asked for reassurance.

“Yes I am. You must've trained extremely hard at home. I'm proud you started improving on your poor running capabilities," Mr. Morgan commented appreciative.

“Well, ehm....yeah!" Toby wasn't so sure what to say. Strange things had happened to him all day long, and that even though everything was normally so regular, which he liked in most cases. He needed time to think and someone specific to talk to about all this; Jake.
