Predation. Chapter Seven.
Predation Chapter Seven By Roofles The place was dimly lit with brighter lights above the bar, pool tables and bathrooms. There were several circular booths against the wall, tables to sit at and even a couple of couches down lower within the bar in front of a TV that was playing some sort of live feed of a band. There weren't many others here, yet, but Travis assured him the place would fill up as the night dragged on. They wouldn't stick around that long. Shaun went into the circular booth first. Alicia took one side, Travis the other. Liam sat next to his sister, near the edge, claiming he liked the space to get up if needed. "Wait, wait, wait. You all know each other? Like in person?" Shaun was shocked to hear that Alicia and Bruno were Alice and Bearsteenbeers online. The more the sheep thought about it, the more it made sense. Even the fact they knew each other. The PC caf did local connections first before searching outwards across the world wide web. It made for the best LAN parties back in the day and had been one reason why Travis had worked there. Travis and Alicia were roommates, and she knew Bruno from the club. It was just a long string of coincidences that, once thought over, made more sense. Except for Liam. Liam was kind of just there being Alicia sibling. He was on his phone the moment they walked indoors and was currently texting someone endlessly without looking up. Shaun had stopped trying to figure Liam out at this point. He seemed nice, was friend's with Travis and was Alicia brother. Sometimes, that was enough. "Travis and I used to come here all the time." Alicia purred, loving all of this a little too much. The lynx had her face pushed up with two hands, resting her elbows on the table in a manner that would've gotten Shaun disciplined back home. "We'd come here to hunt," she said as if Shaun would somehow know what that meant. "Really?" Shaun asked, wide eyed still a taking in the initial shock of all these revelations he was discovering of his friend group. "Wait, hunt? Hunt what?" Alicia grinned. "Ignore her. Alice and I used to come here when I was trying out college. Didn't work. It's a place to come to and chill, relax. Wolves and lions and such don't come here." Travis gave a warning growl that Alicia ignored. "We'd come here to find people to hook up with." The lynx teased behind Shaun, using the sheep as a wall to prevent Travis from getting to her. He looked ready to climb over Shaun to strangle her. "Oh, that makes sense." Shaun said and Travis eased up. "Back home we have community dating. Kind of like speed dating. There are a lot of us. We have to fill out these complicated paperwork, mostly to make sure we aren't accidentally related." Shaun giggled as he described his own experiences. "Then we speed date. Going through one quick date after another. It's almost like a game! You mark down the ones you like then try again. Then mark those one downs, until you whittle down the numbers to just the two of you." "Then what?" Alicia asked, being surprisingly polite and interested in what Shaun said. Travis's ear flicked at that, feeling that bubbling jealousy in his chest again as the sheep looked at her. "Then you marry." Shaun said bluntly and Liam nearly spat out his drink. "Married? Just like that?" Liam asked and Shaun shrugged. "There are thousands of us sheep. It's hard to properly date..." Shaun paused, glancing at the coyote and gave a small smile. His hand brushed against Travis's and the coyote wanted to pounce hm. Both the feline's rolled their eyes at the sappy display. Neither of them commented on it, this time. After hearing what Shaun normally had to go through. "It's lucky you went to the PC caf." Liam grumbled. "Maybe I should go there. Meet my fucking soul mate. Like, what the actual fuck is this shit." He grumbled bitterly, tapping a finger on his phone with a claw. The case was made to prevent scratches, thankfully. "You're welcome, Shaun." Alicia winked at the sheep who blushed at all the attention he was suddenly getting in his life. Alicia would never let Travis forget it was thanks to her that the coyote ended up with the sheep. "Yeah, thanks." Shaun said genuinely and even Alicia got embarrassed from his earnest reply as the sheep wagged his tail. Shaun was used to be another face in the crowd. Literally. Everyone back home was a sheep. They looked the same, acted the same and when they all went places they would bunch up next to each other like one person. It was herd mentality and Shaun was lost in the crowd. Or in the flock, in his case. He understood what his family always meant now about not being a lone sheep. The second you left the group, that was when everyone else began to look at you. It was rather nerve- wrecking. The sudden change wasn't good for his heart, and he was glad Travis kept running interference to take the pressure off Shaun as he adjusted to this sudden new changes in his life. Alicia began talking about something. Shaun wasn't paying attention as he tried to sort through all this. To keep up, be polite and be with Travis. He felt out of place but no one there was to blame for that. Shaun knew it was because of being a sheep, because of his family, community and church that he felt uncomfortable here. He let out a breath, trying to ease back. Travis's arm tightened around him in a squeeze and Shaun looked up to see the coyote animatedly talking to the others. Travis made it look so easy. Shaun was envious of that and snuggled bit closer to the coyote who held him tighter as Travis chatted with his friends. It was different when it was online. Safe. Secure. Anonymous. Yet, looking around the table, Shaun wouldn't have changed this for the world as his little tail wagged as the coyote shifted closer to his side. Travis rested just enough against Shaun to let the sheep know he was there. Travis was a bit heavy. He was smelly and musky after the long day out and Shaun found himself pressing into that, instead of pulling away. "She can't help being a vicious, voracious, man-eating slut-," Liam spoke up next to his sister until Alicia slapped him hard in the arm. "Ow, bitch. This is why no one wants to date you!" Liam growled as Alicia shoved him again. "You are the last person on this earth I want to hear that from!" Alicia growled at her brother as the two got into it. Shaun laughed softly. It was funny how they always brought up their failed dating life. It was clear both of them wanted someone. All four of them did. In a way, that was why they were all out here, taking this risk. It was fun, exciting but also a bit dangerous. Putting yourself out there, being open and vulnerable. "I see," Shaun chuckled, trying to laugh if only to be polite. "Did you know?" He asked Travis, who shook his head, still glaring at the lynx. Travis had casually placed an arm around Shaun's shoulder. It was embarrassing. His arm was heavy. It was warm... and no one in the room seemed to give two shits about the predator hugging the prey. It wasn't like in the restaurant. Travis had leaned closer to Shaun to tell him something and the people around them looked as if the coyote was about to take a bite out of the sheep as if Shaun was the main course. Shaun felt stifled in his community and at home. He felt exposed when out alone in the city and now here he was, comfortable around a group of predators. It was strange. It was different. Something he'd been raised and taught to never believe in or trust. To trust them. He did. Looking at Travis, he really did as he scooted a little closer and Travis pulled the sheep up onto his lap. The coyote didn't even seem to notice as Shaun sat on his lap, in the sketchy night club, with two other predators in the bar. Shaun tapped on the table, trying to work these thoughts through. It was so different from his home life. No one was getting on them for being like this. Sitting so close. The spots at the booth didn't have invisible barriers between each other to prevent this kind of thing from happening. Let alone two people of the same sex. Back home, even when speed dating, there was a rule not to touch each other. It was frowned on and the church watched them closely as if convinced two people could know what love is without even knowing what the other felt like. What they smelled like. How did they look in the morning? Was Travis's fur groomed or was he naturally this scruffy looking. Shaun wanted to nose Travis's neck. To inhale his smell, what he smelled like underneath all the soaps and perfumes. What it would mean to know him when you remove the online, the texting, the perfumes and other artificial barriers life and society constructed between them. "Nope." Travis finally looked at Shaun, tipping his long muzzle down to look at the sheep. "I had no idea." The coyote laughed. "Not that I mind now. I mean, it all worked out, right?" "Oh..." Shaun blushed having been the only one being honest this entire time, apparently. He tapped his fingers on the table once more. A soft clunking sound as the hoof tips knocked against the wood. "He totally did!" Alicia said, watching Travis shift in his seat. "Don't believe him. He's not exactly lying; he's just not telling the full truth." The lynx smirked seemingly having endless things to use against her friends. "So, you did know?" "No." "He did!" The lynx watched with gleeful delight as Travis shifted uncomfortably in his seat. The coyote claimed it was to adjust his tail. "Not intentionally!" The coyote whined, grumbling about it as he looked at Shaun as if to apologize. "I told Alicia about where I worked and how it was cool how there were so many prey species that go there. I didn't think she'd turn it into her hunting grounds!" Travis growled back at the lynx who waved him off. "You get tired of the Snack, huh?" Travis said, calling the nightclub that like everyone else seemed to do. "You're being too modest. I was looking for others to play with. That's all. I was just going around trolling people, until I found our little sheep. I didn't expect Shaun to be so good!" Alicia's eyes dilated, turning into catlike slits as she stared at the sheep. "I tried with the other groups but once they kept dying and needed to be revived, well, it got old fast." This was the person Shaun expected Alicia to be. A gamer. A nerd. Someone he could relate to and, in a way, he could. Shaun related more to a lynx than he did to his fellow sheep as Alicia complained loudly about terrible teammates, how the developers needed to focus more on balancing and how certain maps were better. "And another thing," Alicia was grabbing at Shaun's arm, trying to get more of the sheep's attention. "Stop that!" Travis swatted at her. "She's openly trying to steal yo' man, Travis." Liam laughed from her other side. "She loves hunting gay guys, I swear. Tries to convert them. Or at least, sink her teeth in for a bite." "Stop. You guys are making me blush." Alicia sat back and laughed, twirling what looked to be a fish eye on a toothpick in her cocktail. Shaun was afraid to ask. "You're going to give Shaun the wrong impression of me." Alicia suckled on the fisheye, wiggling her eyes at Shaun. Travis had ordered a bloody martini; Liam had gotten some kind of catnip infused mojito and Shaun was currently nursing on a bloody Mary. The sheep greatly enjoyed the tomato juiced based drink and was curious to try other similar drinks in the future. "You guys are going to scare off my DPS, fuckers." Alicia growled at the other two predators. "We're telling him everything he needs to know." Travis glared. He leaned a little closer to the sheep, whispering down. "She's a tricky one. Got to keep an eye out or she'll steal the last meat pie from right under your nose!" "I would. And I did." Alicia laughed, not even denying that she stole the last of the meat pies last week. "Or drink from the carton of milk." Liam rolled his eyes. "So unsexy, sis." "Fuck you. People love when I can jug all that cream down," Alicia tried to play it off, but she blushed faintly as she shoved her brother and flipped Travis off with the other hand. "Stop ganging up on me!" "I think she's nice." Shaun said and got several looks from the others, even from Alicia. "He's such a sweetheart!" Alicia purred. "So innocent and nave..." The lynx practically licked her lips. "See! Evil incarnate." Travis warned. Shaun only gave a soft laugh in turn after taking another sip of his drink. "While she acts out to seem independent, I know she greatly appreciates our group and even stayed on the longest to keep me company when I needed someone to talk to about my situation." Shaun said innocently enough. Stating facts that most people would've kept private. "She even covered for me a couple of times, so I could keep coming to the PC caf when my parents were getting suspicious about it. She never asked for me to pay her back, either. She's very nice." Alicia's face fell, glancing at the other two as she began to sweat bullets. "He's lying." Alicia said and the other two were the ones to have gloating smiles on their faces as they heard this news they could blackmail her with. "Ooooh, I didn't know you were a big softie inside! You lonely misunderstood soul." Liam teased his sister, finally looking up from his phone. He set the device down. Shaun caught a glimpse of the app he'd been using. He didn't know what "chatgf" app meant and didn't ask. "She just needed a hug." Travis smiled seeing the lynx suffering for once. Taking pure delight in the sweet treat that was her suffering. "She was just another wounded damaged person, like the rest of us. She's no different or unique!" "You probably secretly help at the orphanage as well. Now that I think about it, there is a suspicious check that's sent out every month..." Liam thought about it, talking about the orphanage the two had come from. "Run. Fast. Now." Alicia warned, glaring and growling at the two as Shaun watched the very strange hostile, yet friendly exchange. Fangs were bared, claws threateningly exposed but never once did any of them hurt the other as they argued. They pushed and shoved each other. Yelling and sharing their opinions with the other, even when it was hurtful. Vulgar words, slurs and even species stereotypes against each other. No one got offended, no one was butt-hurt afterwards. They laughed and took another drink after. And it was one of the most refreshing things Shaun had ever witness. Shaun could hear Travis's tail wagging after Alicia called him a "Scavenging, trash eater, ball licker," and several harsher things. Mostly about getting caught in a trap and biting his own leg off. While Travis threatened to skin her alive and wear her pelt as a new pair of underwear or sell it on the black-market fur trade. "This is nice." Shaun laughed, sipping on the Bloody Mary. It was sweet of the bartender to make it extra strong. He wasn't sure what that meant exactly but he didn't have to pay for anything as it was Travis's treat. "What's that?" Travis flicked an ear looking at the sheep. "This. It's nice." Shaun chewed on the celery stick, looking up at him with those big innocent eyes that made the coyote drool. "How? She just called me a cripple dog!" Travis barked a laugh that came out higher pitch than a wolf or other canine could make. It was almost a shrill yipping sound distinctly coyote. "Exactly." Shaun nodded, sipping his drink now. It had a strong tomato flavor and he loved that. This might be his favorite drink. Apparently it was made with real tomatoes, with black pepper and hot sauce. It was good. Shaun never had a drink before and if they were all this tasty, he might have to drink more. "I'm not following." Travis said trying to figure out Shaun's thought process. "Back home I don't get to have these kinds of interactions. Ever. My families are very traditional and tend to be more passive about everything with heavy restrictions. For our protection. Herd mentality." Shaun thought it over. His thoughts were unnaturally fuzzy as the drink got to him. "It's very uncommon for us to settle any kind of dispute without my father's final ruling on the manner. It's strictly forbidden to use any curse words or vulgar language or take our God's name in vain. We also aren't allowed to sit so close to strangers or touch or even look at others for long..." "Oh. I didn't know..." Travis's ears folded back, shifting uncomfortably unsure what to say to that. Shaun didn't look upset, so the coyote wasn't sure if he should comfort him or not. Travis wasn't good at this, and he was becoming increasingly aware of that fact. Travis hadn't dated enough to know how to handle this unexpected turn in their conversation. "Harsh." Liam said. "We got no parents." He blunted added on, reminding the others. "Dicks left us before we were born." Shaun wasn't sure how that was possible. He assumed Liam meant that his parents left them at the orphanage after being born. The lynx using dark humor to help mask the pain of not having either family show up for their birth. "What do you mean families?" Alicia caught on, frowning at that. She was always sharp and knew a lot about Shaun that the others didn't. She would politely wait until the others left after their online gaming sessions. Only when they logged off or at least stepped away, she'd ask about Shaun's life. Who he was, what he wanted and what he feared. What he dealt with and who he was. It was a taboo to do online but they'd been friends for so long that Alicia didn't mind stepping over that line and Shaun was too innocent to realize he shouldn't divulge personal information online, even with friends. Shaun and Alicia could talk for hours about whatever they needed to get off their chests. It had been a release that Shaun didn't know he needed. He cried, yelled, raged more in the past year since knowing the lynx than he had ever been allowed to in his entire life. It was thanks to Alicia that he learned that his way of life wasn't healthy, even if it was normal and expected of a prey species to have. To live in fenced, gated communities with rams and the like keeping the herd safe from predators. They carved out an entire chunk of land to build cookie cutter houses to live in. Alicia helped pull him out of that very strange black and white world. Like now... "Well, in the Harvest Church one male is able to take more than one wife... Rams are allowed to be polygamous. I think that's the right word. Polygamy, basically." Shaun's ears folded back, realizing how this must sound to outsiders. "It's uh, very open minded, let's say about certain things and very close minded about others. Males are allowed to have multiple wives. My dad has several families. I only see him on Friday, Saturday and at church on Sunday. It's why during the speed dating we have to give blood tests, to make sure we aren't related." "Friday and Saturday... Which are two of the days you stay at the PC caf." Travis thought that over. "Why am I only now hearing about it?" The coyote's voice softened, yet his ears were up and alert as his fur bristled. He tried to keep the growl from his voice. "Well, it's awkward. For starts. How do I tell people that my family life is kind of freaking weird? I didn't even know that was odd until Alice, uh, Alicia told me about it! Also, outside this group... everyone I know is from the flock. Like everyone." Shaun fidgeted. "They are already aware of it. Most my friends during church camp were in similar situations. Some found out they were half- brothers, at summer camp! Awkward. It's not an uncommon practice. It's just that... when it was found out my dad had a mistress, the church said it was okay as long as they got married..." Shaun trailed off, unsure where to go after that. It was awkward enough talking to the sheep at camp and knowing that some of them could be his half-brothers and half-sisters. That might've been the main reason why Shaun never looked at another sheep with sexual interest before. Afraid they might be related. It was a phobia he never wanted to get over for the fear of what might happen otherwise. "Dude." Alicia said. "Fuck." Liam gasped. "What the fuck, dude!" Travis growled in agreement, the fur on his neck sticking out now. "How dare that asshole do that to your mom!" His hackles rose, teeth baring and the low rumbling growl in his throat continued to grow louder. "Travis. Relax..." Alicia was the one to jump in. Calm and commanding, she cut through the coyote's thoughts with the forceful words. "You're scaring Shaun..." She added under her breath. Travis was breathing heavily as his hackles began to calm down and his fur stopped bristling. He glanced over at the sheep who had pulled away from him at the sight. Shaun trying to give Travis room to calm down. Shaun's first instinct was to retreat, not comfort. It was more of that herd mentality that Shaun had to deal with on a daily basis. "Shit. Sorry. Shit, I'll get you another drink." Travis knocked over a glass reaching for Shaun's. The worked-up coyote continued to fumble with things, knocking it over before Liam stepped in to snag the other glasses smoothly. The feline's dexterity on full display as Travis bumped into the table, trying to get out. "Alicia. A word." Liam said as he helped Travis out with a roll of his eyes. "Be right back, sugar." Alicia winked playfully to the sheep who still was holding his chest, trying not to be so obvious about his reaction. Shaun didn't want the others to know how much that scared him and how his body reacted. It was a knee-jerk response that couldn't go unnoticed by the others. "Stay here. Chew on your celery stick. Call if you need me to beat Travis's ass, whenever. It's a hobby of mine." She wiggled her fingers, smiling surprisingly soft for how she'd been acting previously. The lynx followed the others and ended up smacking Travis on the back of the head. Hard. Hard enough to make the coyote yip and stumble forward at the sudden assault on his person. "We get that your homelife freaking sucks. All our home lives suck." Alicia reminded the coyote who tucked his tail in shame. "Childhood trauma? Welcome to the club! Don't take it out on the poor little guy. He's already looking like a lost sheep from a herd, er, flock. Whatever! This is all a lot to take in suddenly. I wanted to come here to get away from that shit. Have fun, let loose... You're going to scare him off as you did Micheal." "Too far." Travis snarled, getting up in her face. "Don't." He warned and Alicia sighed at the front Travis put on. Lifting his shoulders, puffing out his chest. Trying to appear big and intimidating. It was a canine thing that got old, fast. The coyote might be tall and lanky, but he didn't have the meat and muscle a wolf did, and it showed when he tried to appear larger than he was. Most coyotes curled in on themselves to protect their vital organs when threatened. Travis was trying to act like a wolf, and the feline wasn't having any of it. "Yes. Good. Keep overreacting like you always do when you actually like someone." Alicia rolled her eyes, pushing him aside without a care for his threats. "You overreacted then. You're overreacting now. It's not your job to save him." The lynx tapped a finger against his forehead. "Your dad cheated on your mom. She didn't take it well. Get over it. Everyone has a story like that. Look at us! The foster twins. Then at Shaun who apparently comes from an even more fucked up situation! He practically grew up in a freaking cult. I mean, organized religion..." She laughed more to herself at that. "I know. It's just... can't I get angry?" Travis grumbled, rubbing the spot she had tapped on his forehead. "You can get upset. You can sympathize and show some fucking empathy, sure. Just don't lose your shit over it. It is perfectly fine to have a reaction to a startling situation. To blow your top? Not cool. Especially when your main focus should've been on Shaun and how he was handling it. The guy is rather leveled headed and wasn't breaking down because of it. No point trying to pull it out of him if he's not ready." Alicia continued to chide him about his behavior until Liam nudged her side. "What? I'm not done yelling." "Good. GO yell at them." Liam pointed a finger towards the two men who had cornered the sheep at the table. The lynx had been watching from the distance, sipping his freshly refilled drink as the two other predators had stalked over to the sheep left alone in the booth. "Who's bright idea was it to leave him alone!" Travis was already running back over, shoving someone out of the way as he went. The coyote knocked a chair over and bumped into a table, making those sitting at it hiss. The two snaked baring their fangs. "This is exactly what I meant about not overreacting." Alicia rolled her eyes as she grabbed one of the bar stools and dragged it towards the table. "Liam grab the drinks." "Should I get Bruno?" Liam asked, looking more bored than anything else. "Nah, I got this." Alicia said as the coyote got up on the other two crowding into Shaun's personal space. "...my friend and I were feeling rather lonely, sitting over there by ourselves." The eagle leaned against the booth, looking down at the sheep who was sitting on the opposite of the table making the move rather pointless with the space between them. "I'm waiting for my friends to come back." Shaun replied, eyes locked on the two strangers. It was a subtle thing but something the two predators seemed to enjoy. That almost startled look in the sheep's eyes. Shaun's entire focused centered in and watching their every move with his rectangular pupils. "The fucks going on here?" Travis hackles were raised, neck fluffing up as he bared his teeth at the two avians. The raven backed down, lifting up his wings as the eagle turned to face him. Scared off by the other predator stealing his prey. His friend was not as impressed. "Just talking with your little friend." The eagle snapped their beak several times at Travis as if about to bite him. "You guys left the poor guy alone. We were just being friendly. Keeping him company." "He has friends. Doesn't need more." Travis lowered his voice, letting the growl carry it out his slightly parted lips. Several other patrons watched with amused delight, bored expressions or interest wondering if they were going to fight it out. A couple of the others had been eying Shaun. Now they were hoping to swoop in if the two fight to take the sheep as the opportunists they were. A weasel lurked nearby, watching with keen interest as the larger predators duked it out. "Can never have too many friends." The eagle puffed up his chest, tilting his head in a comically absurd way as his feathers puffed out on his neck. Making his body appear larger than it was. "But I don't like you. I don't want to be your friend." The eagle waved a wing at the coyote. There was an unspoken hierarchy of predators. The eagle being one of the top of the avians while Travis was seen as a scavenger; if he was a wolf, this might've never even happened in the first place. Well, if he was a wolf his pack would've been there to keep an eye on things. The two lynx's were cats; they had a different view of things. And as a coyote, Travis was alone. Something the eagle to take into account. Everything after watching them walk in. "Don't push me." Travis trembled, teeth gritting as his eyes began to burn from staring so hard at the bird. "Then back off. Or should I say bark off." The eagle laughed, clearly having a few drinks under his belt at this point. "Can you even bark? Or just... yip?" The eagle leaned in, mocking the coyote for the way he barked now. Yips were usually contributed by other species as a sound you made when in pain or as a bottom in the bedroom. It was a multifront insult that had hit it's mark, getting under Travis's fur. Travis was already leaning back to throw the first punch. Before the coyote could do something, a sound of wood being dragged met their ears as the two lynxes walked up behind Travis. Arriving both as reinforcements, and armed. "We good here?" Alicia asked from behind Travis as she dragged the bar stool noisily. Making a scene and drawing the avians attention to the crude weapon. "What are you planning to do, kitty?" The eagle asked, eying the two felines now. Calculating his odds against the three or if the felines were really here to help or not. You never could tell with cats. "We good." The raven's eyes widen seeing the two lynxes. It was one thing to try and steal the sheep from the coyote. Another story against three other predators. "We good!" He backed up even further. "Come on Julian. He's not worth the trouble. We'll find you someone alone. Someone who likes your, uh, whatever this is." "He was alone." Julian turned his head around to look at the crow making the others shudder from the sight. The eagle spun it back around. "You guys brought fresh prey to the club and then left him alone. Not cool. We just wanted to make sure he was safe. Right, little lamb?" Shaun shrunk down at the table, not wishing to be involved in this. He'd only been chatting with these two strangers until Travis came snarling up, teeth bared. They hadn't done anything wrong as far as Shaun knew. Maybe he had missed something, and the sheep was trying to figure out if this was normal behavior or not, unaware how common it was. Predators loved this game more than any other, especially when it came to dating. Or fucking. The idea of stealing a "kill" away from another was the best kind of aphrodisiac and a good stroke to ones ego and pride. "Don't call him that." Travis snarled already hating himself for leaving Shaun alone. It only added to his anger towards them. "Don't." A build anger that made his mouth burn as saliva dripped from his exposed fangs, frothing slightly in a very canine manner. "Travis." Alicia spoke up and the coyote glared at her. Seeing the look in her eyes, he took a breath and let it out. His fur began to settle as his brow fell over his eyes, staring at the two. His fist was still shaking. "You said hi. Now say goodbye." Travis said and Alicia lifted up the stool to back him up. She looked more than ready to use the thing, even excited to try hitting someone over the head with it. The chance didn't come up often and the two avians seemed to understand that she was more than willing to do it. They were more afraid of her than they were of the coyote standing his ground. "Not worth it, bro." The raven pulled his friend who glared at each of the others. Julian let out a terrifying screech, wings lifting up as his feathers puffed out. Posturing in front of the other predators as he backed away and left. Giving them the feather. "Damn. I never get a chance to hit someone with a chair." Alicia said, disappointed as she set the bar stool aside and took her seat. "There's always next time." Liam consoled her as Travis watched the other two predators leave. "Sit down. You'll only make him more nervous if you keep posturing. Dogs, birds? For fuck sake, you all have to show off." The two felines rolled their eyes at the display. Showboating was a thing known throughout the animal kingdom. "You okay, lambchop?" Alicia asked, scooting in next to Shaun who nodded meekly. "Nervous?" "I'm not nervous!" He said a little louder than he meant. The sheep winced. "Or I wasn't until that happened... what was that all about?" Shaun looked at the two birds. The eagle was still watching them until his friend pushed him into a booth at the far end of the bar and began consoling the bird for losing, another, prey that'd been left alone. "Travis was trying to be a big-time hero in front of you. Wanted to impress you." Alicia rolled her eyes. "Canines. I swear. They are always looking for a fight. Got to mark their territory. They get off on it. Disgusting." "Oh, I mean," Shaun mumbled, his voice fading as he tapped a finger on the table, trying to find the words. "If you have prey instincts, predators have their instincts." Travis scooted in on the other side of Shaun, keeping his body in front of the sheep now. His ears were still up and alert, watching where the other two went. "They saw us leave you alone and thought it meant you were fair game." "Fair game...? In what way?" Shaun asked, looking at the trio. The innocence in his eyes made Alicia purr. "Basically, they had some interest in you when they saw you come in here." Liam explained. "Your small, soft and cute. Predators love that. They saw us all talking and having fun. Then when we left, they thought they'd have their fun with it." The lynx went back to his phone. "Or thought they could 'swoop' in and steal you. Birds, I swear. Not any better than canines." "It's just a bunch of piss." Alicia laughed. She was the only one of the group who seemed to have enjoyed the exchange. "What my sister is trying to eloquently say, is that they were holding a pissing contest with us. Not you. They wanted to see if they could win you over where it looked like we failed." Liam shrugged a shoulder. "It's a predator thing. Gives you a huge ego boost if you can steal a 'kill' from others. It's a harsh world out there." "Even though I came in with you?" Shaun asked, trying to think it over from their point of view. It was a foreign, alien concept to the sheep. He knew that rams would compete for females, sure. With head butting. It was a display of strength and virility, supposably. Shaun assumed that predators had their own way of courting then. He just wasn't expecting this. "Especially because you came in with us." Alicia chuckled, sipping her refreshed drink. "You know how some girls only want a guy who already has someone? It's like that. The challenge. The pleasure of taking what someone else has. Winning them over, showing the world how much better you are than them." Alicia laughed, clearing speaking from experience. Shaun didn't catch that she was the stealer, not the one getting stolen from. "Plus, the time after is amazing." Liam shivered at the thought, the drinks finally catching up to him. "Stealing someone's kill. Then bringing them home to... feast." His nails scratched the table. "You love that." Alicia rolled her eyes, gagging in disgust. "Next time warn me!" "It's just nice, you know? Having someone fight for you. Beat someone up, steal you away and then devour you after." The lynx stuck the tip of his tongue out as he swayed slightly. Shaun only then realized the male lynx liked to be stolen, instead of stealing like Alicia did. "I don't get that..." Shaun said and Alicia's eyes widen slightly. "Why would that make things better? Better in what way?" Shaun asked, thinking it over as the drinks got to him making the room tilt slightly. "Shaun, are you a virg-," she asked as Travis and Liam stopped her, slapping a hand over her mouth. She raised her hands in defeat, smirking as she looked at Travis and Shaun. The way the coyote looked at the sheep was if he wanted to eat him up on the spot after what had just happened. Travis had won. That was why the coyote was trying not to talk, or drool would spill from his lips. Fighting for him, showing off in front of him and coming out on top? Alicia knew how worked up, and horny, that had made the coyote after the display. It was like the perfect aphrodisiac, the best kind of foreplay for a predator to have before mating like a wild animal. Rutting and humping and breeding senselessly until they both passed out from the sexual stimulation. To fight off the competition in front of your mate? To show them how strong you are; to show you can protect them? It made the coyote drool, swallowing it away as Travis tried to pretend that entire display hadn't gotten him dripping. Travis had remained silent, trying to will his knot to go away. "They didn't hurt you or say anything strange did they?" Travis asked. He carefully sat down his hand next to Shaun's, looking down at the differences between them. The size, the fur, the claws... Travis's nails dug slightly into the table. He was still worked up, and he had to let out a breath, calming down. If Alicia and Liam weren't here, it wouldn't matter that they would in public. Travis would've been on Shaun the next second, dry humping him again as they kissed in the booth. "They didn't really say much. Just a bunch of dumb lines I've seen in a dozen movies. They did keep talking about going to some kind of nest. When the eggs are rocking don't come knocking." Shaun shrugged and Alicia had to stop Travis from getting up and chasing after the eagle. The lynx grabbed the coyote's tail, and it was the perfect leash to keep Travis in check. "Ignore them. Don't let some randos ruin a perfectly good night. You don't have to be home until Sunday, right?" Alicia asked. She did it for Travis as the coyote's ears perked up at that, tuning in and centering on what Shaun said next. Travis entire focus had shifted back to the sheep. The next words outside Shaun's lips would tell Travis what his plans were going to be for the next couple days. "Right. I only have to be back for church, really. Sunday afternoon." Shaun nodded and Alicia winked at Travis. The coyote's ears folded back. Travis turned his body to face Shaun wanting to speak up, talk more with the sheep, before eying the other two cautiously as if afraid one of the other two predator at the table were going to steal his kill. He was worked up and on edge and Alicia was loving every second seeing her childhood friend like this. Travis looked as if he was about to get up and mark Shaun right here in front of the two. Fight them off and Liam was having none of that. "I'll go get the next round of drinks!" Liam jumped up suddenly. "We already got refills." Alicia said, refusing to move. "Come help." Liam tugged on Alicia's arm as she was dragged from the table. The male lynx surprisingly strong despite his size as those large fluffy mittens pulled his sister away from the two. "No! I need my yaoi fix!" Alicia mrowed angrily as her brother pulled her towards the front of the club. The feline clawed at anything she could reach to try and slow things down. "I need to know who the uke and seme are! I need to see it." She begged her brother. "I'm going to dump you into ice water if you keep this up." Liam sighed, unable to believe he was going to be the sober one tonight. An unspoken rule the three had. That one had to be somewhat sober to watch out for the other two. Travis and Alicia were clearly drunk and Shaun was too innocent to realize it. "She's exactly how I pictured her to be." Shaun said when the other two were gone. "I didn't know she had a brother. She never mentioned him. Or a roommate," he added looking at Travis who grumbled a bit. "I said I was sorry. She, uh, heard us the other day and really wanted to meet you. She honestly didn't know who you were until I filled in the blanks." Travis apologized again. "It's somewhat a major coincidence that this happened. But I'm glad it did," Travis's tail wagged slowly as he inched his hand closer to Shaun's. The sheep didn't move it, and Travis placed his larger hand over it. He easily covered it, hiding it from view and something about that sent a shiver through the coyote's system. Making his fur stand up slightly. How much larger he was. How easily he hid Shaun's hand away underneath his. Travis wanted to lay on top of the sheep and stop anyone else from looking at him. His prey, his kill, his prize. "That's fine. Everything turned out alright in the end." Shaun nodded, swaying gently as he chewed on the leaf of the celery far longer than anyone would need to do. "Were you really going to fight them?" Travis's ears perked up, looking at the sheep for a long minute. Trying to find the correct response that would make Shaun happy to hear. "If they did something to you, yes." Travis said carefully, licking his lips at the end. "I think Alicia would've handled them!" Shaun laughed, his dark black furred cheeks glowing with a rosy tint as he blushed. "She looked more than ready!" "I would've been fine alone!" Travis grumbled, wanting to boast. "I might be a coyote, but I can keep my... uh... friend safe," Travis nearly said something far more crude. The word lingered on his tongue. And he loved the taste of it. "I know." Shaun smiled, nodding several times. Then nodded again. "This is really good!" "I made sure they didn't add so much this time," Travis rolled his eyes. The coyote rested against the table, still facing Shaun. His ears were up, keeping alert as they talked. "We were never allowed to drink. I mean, the communion wine but that doesn't count!" Shaun hiccupped, giggling softly after. "We once broke into the pastors office and opened the liquor cabinet and stole a bottle of wine! He didn't even lock it, thinking that the Harvest God would keep it safe and that his flock wouldn't do something bad." "What? No shit! What did you guys do?" Travis asked, tail wagging. "We drank it! It was some grape flavored wine," Shaun said, trying to recall. Travis didn't explain that the majority of wines are from grapes. "It was really tasty! They put a lot more sugar in it, don't let the grapes ferment fully so it's like a very strong grape juice." "Did you ever get caught?" "Thankfully, no." Shaun giggled again. "We ended up pouring actual grape juice into the bottle and sealed it back up the best we could. I think that was the worst thing I've ever done. Outside sneaking out." "Sneaking out? Wow. I'm with a real criminal," Travis playfully remarked as his tail lazily wagged. "I know! Look at me now, dad!" Shaun laughed, blushing once more. "I'm out here with awesome friends and drank the most delicious thing ever! And I feel on top of the world." The sheep said as he slowly began sliding underneath the table. Travis had to catch him, holding up. "Heh, I think it's time for water after this." "I need to pee." Shaun mumbled and the coyote laughed, helping Shaun out of the booth and to the bathroom. The coyote went inside the bathroom with him. Shaun used the far urinal as Travis used the one next to it. Blocking the sheep in who was struggling to undo his belt. Travis snorted, watching as he undid his, taking his time as an ear flicked. He looked around, to make sure no one was there. "Here." Travis slid in next to him. The coyote reached down, helping the sheep out. "Sorry. There are like four belts. Which one is mine?" Shaun swayed gently, hiccupping. "You have such big hands. Big meaty hands. I want them to grab me and hold me and squeeze me..." "Yeah. I do." Travis shivered, trying not to pant as he leaned down closer to Shaun. "Here, let me help... with these big strong hands." The canine said as he wrapped an arm around Shaun's body and under an arm, stabilizing the sheep. Those large fingers slid into the front of the sheep's pants. Feeling him, tracing the bulge inside the cute tight underwear that formed nicely around Shaun's hips and ass. Shaun had the biggest bulge Travis had ever seen before. Making the predator envy the farm animal, again. Travis had to stop himself from groping the smaller male as he slid the front down, just enough for Shaun. His sheath was plump and cute, full and perky as Travis stroked a finger under it. To the tip. Using two fingers, he helped point Shaun in the right direction. "Ah," Shaun moaned softly, closing his eyes. "Your hands are rough." "Is that bad?" "...no." Shaun began and Travis felt his tail wag watching the perverted scene. His canine instincts making him want to dance with joy as he helped his friend out. "Your holding my dick." Shaun stated dumbly, staring down. Travis made sure Shaun didn't make a mess, not even minding the dribble that ran over his fingers near the end. "I am." "Isn't that... gross?" "What if I said I liked it? Would that gross you out?" Travis's ear flicked. The coyote wanted to bend down and sniff the scent, inhale it and know it was Shaun's. He blamed his drunk canine brain for that. "...no." Shaun kept his eyes closed as Travis helped him. "Your hands are big." He repeated. "They feel good." "Heh, you said that already." "I'm small." Shaun hiccupped. He held up a hoofed hand, clicking the hoof tipped fingers together. "I'm so small..." "You are." Travis grinned down at the sheep. "I like the way you fit in my palm," Travis stroked Shaun slowly after the sheep finished. Shaun shuddered, nearly losing his balance as Travis kept him up. "Travis..." The sheep bleated softly as the coyote continued to touch him. Stroke him. Feel him with those large fingers that groped him, fingered his sheath and felt over his large nuts. "Whoa." Travis was impressed by the size. He traced those nuts inside that perky sack with a long finger, his blunt nail dragging softly. It made Travis hungry, feeling them. Wanting to taste them. To taste Shaun anger. "It's a sheep thing." Shaun gasped, breathing heavier. "I mean ram. I'm a ram. A big strong ram." The sheep shuddered as he tried to act tough and big and strong. "Yes," Travis chuckled in amusement. "You are a big strong ram. Sir Ramsalot," the coyote teased, "I can even see your horns coming in." The coyote nosed between Shaun's ears. Where the tiny horns were growing. "They're going to be SO big." Shaun said in a drunken stupor, hiccupping and giggling. "They're going to grow up and out and around and around... and around." He spun his finger in a spiral. "Then I'll be the best ram." "They are going to be big." Travis agreed as the drunken sheep bucked his hips into Travis's hand as the coyote continued to stroke him. Rub him. Touch him. To bounce Shaun's fat orbs in the palms of Travis's large hand. They fit perfect. As if the sheep were made for him. "So big." Shaun muttered, rocking his hips back and forth. "You feel good." Travis grinned as he tightened his grip slightly. "It's rough..." "We'll use lube next time." "Next time?" Shaun moaned louder, trying to keep his voice down as he bucked faster. Travis's tail continued to wag, eyes widened slightly as he gritted his teeth. Watching as Shaun used his hand roughly like a crude masturbator. Soft baa's and bleats filled the bathroom before Shaun tense as Travis nipped at his neck. A single brush of those teeth, mixed with the hot breath smelling of the coyote's drink was enough to finish. "Fuck, sorry, fuck, ohhh fuck." Shaun kept bucking his hips without stopping as his tip blew. Thick globs of white that made Travis's eyes widen from the thickness and the amount that spilled out. Making any male envious. Travis was already down on his knees, pushing Shaun against the wall to force the sheep to point that throbbing length at him. Travis didn't mind it got on his chin or his chest as the coyote wrapped his lips hungrily around the most delicious thing he'd ever tasted. Thick globs of the sheep "baa'd" out onto the predator's hungry tongue. Travis swallowed them. Each and every thick release as Shaun moaned his name. The sound made the coyote's ears perk up, looking up at the sheep that was watching him. Travis was on his knees for the sheep. The sight was so arousing Shaun felt his balls ache, trying to release every drop as the predator was down there. On his knees. Travis was on his knees! The sheep couldn't even wrap his mind around that fully as Travis bobbed his muzzle up and down over Shaun's fat, thick length. The coyote pushed his nose against Shaun's musky pubes. Inhaling the sheep's male musk. The smell of it, the taste of Shaun was driving Travis wild and crazy with need. Another load emptied down his throat and the coyote gagged slightly, feeling full despite skipping dinner. "Freaking prey species," the predator grumbled as Shaun finished after nearly a full minute of releasing. The coyote licked his fingers off, loving the sweet taste of Shaun on his lips. He licked them. Tasting the sheep. Suckled on them, downing the fingers one by one as if they themselves were a treat. "That was..." Shaun stumbled and Travis had him. He held the sheep. Lifting him off the ground. "Come here my sleepy boy," Travis growled. Shaun felt his feet leave the floor then saw only darkness as the coyote pulled the white wool sweater open and stuffed the smaller male underneath it. Hiding the sheep within, against his chest. Shaun's pants and underwear hung off a leg and even Travis wasn't sure when Shaun had undressed fully during all that. If Travis had done something or if the sheep had. The thought of that, of Shaun doing it made a shiver run down Travis's spine. Travis pulled his sweater down, holding Shaun up by his ass cheeks and thick thighs as he felt the sheep's legs wrap around his waist. Shaun had strong thighs and the coyote growled with approval as the sheep nuzzled against his furry chest. Shaun pushed his short snout against it. Into Travis's fur. Smelling him. Sniffing him. And the action made Travis leak as the coyote tried not to moan. "Travis..." Shaun muttered, whimpering softly and the coyote felt another arousing shiver run through his body. "N-not here. Those damn felines would sniff this out in the next couple minutes." Travis knew Liam and Alicia too well and quickly looked for an exit, an escape with his stolen goods. Travis slipped out of the bathroom with his smuggled sheep. Using the back door to slip outside into the cool night air. It was brisk, the smell of snow strong. Brisk and cold with a light layer of snow. Travis loved it. Loved the feel of Shaun under his shirt. Nuzzling him. Hugging him in this back alley. Wanting to be closer to his body. Craving Travis's heat. The taste of the sheep lingered on his lips with the strong scent of Shaun's release. Travis swallowed. He tasted him. Tasted the sheep. The coyote never knew he loved lamb as much as he did until then. Travis shoved Shaun up against the wall, using it as support as he fussed with the sheep's pants with one hand as he held him tight with the other. Shaun's pants were taken off, slung over Travis's shoulder so the coyote wouldn't lose them. "Travis..." Shaun mumbled and the coyote nipped at the outline of the sheep in his shirt. "I got you, babe." Travis licked his lips, pulling Shaun's ass cheeks apart. Groping that thick meaty ass with both hands, fully. Sliding a finger along the crack. Teasing his hole. Shaun bleated again, a little louder and Travis hugged him closer. "Tell me to stop," Travis growled as he fingered that hole. Tracing around it, pressing against it. Using the blunt nail to pull gently at the opening. Shaun shuddered. He groaned; he only held Travis tighter. "Tell me to quit and I will," Travis worked on the front of his pants. "All you need to do is say the word." The coyote promised. "Just tell me no. Tell me to stop. And I promise not to eat you..." "Travis." Shaun groaned and the coyote melted against the sheep as pulled out his fat, throbbing red dick. Veins traced down its lengths. Travis traced each one with a finger, shivering as they all reached his slightly engorged knot. His dick was hot, the air was cold, but the lamb was warmer. And Travis wanted that warmth. He craved it. Wanting to feel it wrapped around him. Keeping him warm as the coyote kept Shaun warm underneath the wool sweater. "Got to do this quick, my little snack." Travis angled his pointed tip against that hole. He pushed forward and slid it between Shaun's plump juicy ass making the two moan and groan together. It was such a nice fat ass. Shaun had a great tail hole and the coyote purposefully pushed in, only to let himself be pushed out. "S-sorry, once more." Travis tried again. Wanting to feel it again. To tease Shaun further. His cock was dripping. The pre acting like a lubricant as the coyote teased Shaun's tail hole with that dripping tip. Rubbing it over, swirling it around, spurting against Shaun's steaming hole in the cold frigid night air. "Travis, fuck, you big tease. You stink," Shaun said and Travis knew he did. "You like that?" "I do." And Travis wagged his tail hearing the words. His tip pushed against the opening. He felt Shaun resist. Travis bit his lip, letting the sheep relax before trying again. Sliding the tip in. Shaun gasped. Travis growled as the next inch slipped in. It was warm, hot and Travis was already making it slick. He felt Shaun squeeze, felt the heat wrap around him and the coyote had to stop himself from finishing right then and there. "Shaun..." Travis begged him, whined his name. The sound left his lips as hot mist in the night air. "Travis." The coyote pushed harder. Shaun pushed back. The two meeting together. "Your ass is so fucking plump." Travis huffed and breathed hotly in the cool air. "I want to bite it," he humped. "I want to chew on you." He shuddered feeling Shaun's tight hole resist his fattening, throbbing, veiny length. "I want to devour you," Travis groaned, tilting his head back as he grabbed Shaun's ass with both his large hands, spreading the sheep as he skewered the smaller male on his red pole. It throbbed. It was hot. The heat and warmth increased. Travis was musky. Shaun's face was against the coyote's chest as he was roughly taken. Travis sweated and it rubbed over Shaun's fur. Slickness tripped from the coyote's tip. Lubing his inside. It was warm. Already warm as it leaked out, inside Shaun's body. It felt good then. The pain and pressure was replaced with pleasure. A filling warmth that rubbed perfectly against his prostate. That filled him. Sliding in and out. Spreading him. Travis nails dug into Shaun's ass cheek, spreading him just as that fat throbbing length did. Travis's knot pushed against Shaun's entrance. Pressing up against those plump cheeks, making them both groan. Travis began a slow, rhythmic hump. Rocking his hips up until his knot pushed against Shaun and then pulling back until only the tip remained inside. It was controlled despite the coyote wanting to lose it. Shaun moaned. He snuggled closer to Travis. Holding the coyote tightly. The act only stimulated Travis further. Growling out as he pulled Shaun closer. Pressing against the wall. Covering him, protecting him with his large body. Hiding the sheep under his sweater, using his body to hide him from anyone who might walk by. "You smell." "You'll smell like me soon," Travis snarled as he continued. "You're so thick..." "You make me like this." "Travis... Travis... Travis..." Shaun repeated the word, panting it out, groaning that name. Thinking of it. The name and the coyote could feel his thick knot pushing against that deliciously plump ass at Shaun's words. "Travis... are you going to..." "I love you." Travis blurted out. Shaun didn't fully comprehend the words in his inebriated state of mind. "I love you. I love you." Travis repeated as a mantra, and it built for the perfect finish. "I want this. I need this. I want you and I love you..." His knot slid inside, tying the two together as Travis wrapped his arms around the sheep with Shaun's legs wrapped around Travis's waist. Travis held him, holding him tightly as he felt it as his tail hiked up, his toes curled and the coyote's sack tightened against his body. Travis held that. Held that feeling for as long as he could as it flooded his body with a sensual warmth of pleasure that flowed through him until it came out. He erupted. He blew. Travis shot deep inside the sheep's plump, beautiful ass spread wide for him. His thickness filled Shaun and a tingling warmth washed over his entire body from the inside. Shaun gasped, breathing in the sweaty coyote's musk as it suddenly spiked and increased with his release. Throbbing pulsing releases filled Shaun. It filled him with a warmth he'd never known or experienced before. A thickness that settled perfectly into his core as teeth nipped at him through the sweater. If Shaun wasn't underneath the sweater, he knew Travis would've bitten him in that moment. To grab on with his teeth, to hold him with his arms and remain firmly knotted deep inside his body. Tying them together this cold winter night. "I'm not letting go." Travis said almost to himself as he curled around the sheep, holding him against his chest as his balls tightened against his body and he howled low and high pitch as he came inside the sheep. Loud enough that the mist rose up out of the alley. A howl that would've even impressed a wolf...
