Chapter 6

Uesstii pulled her sword from her scabbard. ‘First lesson.’ She barked. ‘Go for the legs. The other ants will finish the job.’

Faylo’s head was spinning! He was barely able to pull his sword from the scabbard properly, and now he was being thrust into his first lesson.

‘Hold your sword like this.’ Uesstii posed for him, he did his best to follow. ‘That’s it, with both paws, and swing like this.’ Uesstii slashed in a wide arc, emulating the height of the ants. ‘The front legs keep them up, but stay clear of those nasty jaws.’

‘I haven’t seen an ant before.’ Faylo squeaked. ‘Are they really that terrible?’

‘Yes. They are slow, but they are many, and in numbers they are a ferocious beast.’

‘Couldn’t we just run?’

‘We could, yes, and we will, but only if they show themselves to be interested in us.’ Uesstii looked to the dark places of the forest. ‘No telling how far away the nest is, but if they are hunting here, they will be back.’

‘You don’t seem that worried.’

‘I am not afraid of the ants, just what hunts them.’

Faylo paled and felt sick to his stomach. ‘I hadn’t thought of that.’ He looked about the trees, as if a sudden fear grabbed hold of him.

Uesstii lay a comforting paw on his shoulder. ‘We are not the top of the food chain in these woods, my dear mouse, but there is no reason to fear the forest.’

‘That’s easy for you to say!’ Faylo squeaked. ‘I barely know how to swing this thing.’ He swung the blade through the air, lamely, and it barely made a sound at all. ‘What if I can’t protect you?’

‘You won’t be fighting alone, not this time.’ Uesstii said. ‘To be a knight is to have hardship. The dangers of the forest are many, but few would be strong enough to harm you, let alone me.’ She smiled, a vicious smile as she palmed the pommel of her sword. ‘It’s exciting! You’ll find exhilaration like no other in a good battle.’

‘It’s the legs.’ Faylo confessed with a shiver. ‘I’m not fond of insects.’

‘We will avoid them at all costs.’ Uesstii assured him. ‘Don’t be thinking we’ll be fighting every insect that gets in our way.’ She laughed! ‘Some of them taste really good roasted over the fire. Maybe we can take an ant or two.’

Faylo managed a smile. ‘We just ate!’

‘Any good wife would be preparing the next meal for her husband ahead of time.’

‘I always thought that was exaggerated.’ Faylo squeaked. ‘A fictional quality of the perfect female.’

‘I have goals and aspirations, you know, and one of them is being a good wife.’

‘A good wife,’ Faylo squeaked. ‘Would be one that kept ants away from her husband.’ He had hope in his voice.

Uesstii gave him a playful smack on the ear. He squeaked and gave her a sharp look. ‘Not this time. You’ll learn to swing that sword properly. An ant is good practice.’

‘What good is that practice, if the ant bites me in two!’

‘As horrifying of a mental image that was, it would not happen.’ Uesstii rubbed him between the ears now, earning herself an annoyed squeak, she pinched him for good measure. ‘I would not let that happen.’

Faylo sighed. ‘It is reassuring to have you here. I just wish I had the strength to be the one assuring you.’

‘You will. I saw a taste of your power. You are gifted in magic, and perhaps, pursuing that would be better than the sword, but all great sorcerers carried a sword, and all of them knew how to use it. There are forces in this world, beyond that of a giant insect, and they themselves will wield a weapon other than magic.’

‘You do seem potent with your own magic.’ Faylo said.

‘I am a warrior, firstly, and with my magic I can raise my physical power and enchant my sword. I scarcely begin to imagine what a Mauslin could do in comparison.’

‘Do you think I have that much potential?’

‘Yes. If the legends of old are to be believed. You are a force of destruction. I think your mere presence on a battlefield might deter most from attacking you, but I would not rely solely upon aura alone to keep you safe.’

Faylo wiggled his nose and flexed his free paw. ‘I don’t feel like a force of destruction.’

‘You’ll feel unstoppable after a few ants.’ Uesstii said. ‘They are fierce, but our swords are sharp.’

‘And I can use my magic?’

‘Never deny yourself an advantage. I want you to practice the sword, but I want you to be safe and feel confident in doing so. If you feel overwhelmed, use your magic, do anything to get out alive.’

Faylo nodded. ‘I will.’

‘You make a very good student.’

‘Were you expecting any different?’ Faylo squeaked.

‘I was not a good student.’

Faylo laughed. ‘I can guess why.’

Uesstii huffed. ‘And why is that?’

‘You’re very stubborn.’

Uesstii rolled her eyes. ‘Don’t forget my other qualities.’

‘Fishing for compliments?’ Faylo snickered. ‘I didn’t know stubborn was a quality.’

‘Any quality squirrel is stubborn.’

‘Oh, divines, have mercy!’ Faylo groaned dramatically. ‘If all squirrels are like you, how will I survive?’

Uesstii smacked him with her tail as she sheathed her sword and walked away. She gestured for him to follow.

‘You’ll be revived daily with love and kisses.’

‘I would expect that regardless.’ Faylo squeaked.

‘So needy.’

‘And you aren’t?’ Faylo teased. ‘I recall a very clingly squirrel the last few nights.’

Uesstii blushed! Although he could not see her face, he knew he got her, for her tail tensed up and began to wiggle near the tip.

‘You are so lucky that you’re cute.’

‘Don’t forget handsome!’

Uesstii waved over her shoulder. ‘Yeah, yeah.’

Faylo scurried to her side and tried his best to keep with her stride. She walked with such confidence and vigour, he could hardly compare, and when he began to slow, he felt more than useless next to her. She did not see it that way. Taking the lead was natural to the squirrel, especially with danger so close, and she would be the one to protect him this time.

The smell of the decaying corpse faded away. They travelled through the woods unhindered, and on good footing, for the water dried and the land began to slop upward. It was rocky, with stubborn trees, flowers, and mushroom growing where others would not; but the woods were still thick here because of it, with more sunlight from the sparse growth of trees came more undergrowth, and each leaf was wet and clung to their fur as they walked through it. The air was muggy. Small bugs buzzed and droned, and were very insistent on getting in the corner of eyes.

Faylo waved the bugs away from his face. ‘I would rather the ants.’ He squeaked.

‘You might have your wish yet.’ Uesstii said. ‘I would be glad for just these midges for the remainder of our journey, but...’ Her ears cocked to the many sounds of the forest. ‘Hear that?’ She asked. ‘That squeak?’

Faylo rose an ear. ‘Hm, maybe? I hear a lot in the woods. I can’t make paw or tails of it.’

‘That’s an ant.’ Uesstii said. ‘A big one.’

Faylo worriedly looked to the sounds coming from the forest. ‘Is it coming after us?’

‘Quiet.’ Uesstii whispered. She was stern and sudden enough to silence him instantly. Then the sounds came, a horrendous wailing screeching squeak! Many a voice came, insectoid and raspy. ‘They’re calling a warning to the others.’

‘How do you know?’ Faylo asked in a hushed whisper.

‘I have heard it before. They may have picked up our scent, but I do not know why they would be so alarmed by our presence alone...’

‘Do you think it’s my fault?’ Faylo asked.

‘I do not know, but I do not want to find out.’

Uesstii took Faylo’s paw and pulled him along, which was fine by him, for her paw was soothing and warm; but her pace was quickened and he could hardly keep up.

‘I have little legs, you know!’

‘I’m sorry.’ Uesstii said. ‘I keep forgetting you’re not a squirrel.’

‘How could you forget that?’

‘I haven’t spent much time with anything else.’ Uesstii huffed, panting now. ‘We must hurry, Faylo. Try to keep up. I fear something else may be provoking the ants.’

Faylo sensed the sudden urgency. He picked up the pace, but he was tired and ragged only a few minutes into the sprint, and Uesstii had to slow to stay with him. She kept her paw to his and half dragged him through the bushes towards the edge of the marshland. But they did not make it there, for the forest came alive with the screeching calls of the ants, and with it came the rumbling call of a predator far greater. It was booming, like a horn, a droning howl that cut out several times near the end, like a wailing siren.

Uesstii’s blood ran cold and her eyes widened. ‘The Baluyuntungaroo.’

‘The what?’

Uesstii did not have time to respond. The forest was alive with the sound of many legs and a rumbling of a stampeding horde. Screeching calls filled the forest. The undergrowth shimmered, swayed, and then came crashing down as a swarm of ants came, and in great numbers, for they covered the ground and crowded the trees. Faylo could not see even the leaves, nor the branches. The ants were a wave of destruction, and they were headed right for them.

‘Swords!’ Uesstii howled. ‘Stand by me, do not falter.’

Faylo drew his blade and held it with a shaking paw toward the insects. The ants were massive. Far larger than Faylo, and even Uesstii, but only just, and with their size came a clumsiness. Their strides were fast, too fast! They were almost upon them, with no signs of slowing, but they wobbled as they walked, as if their giant head and massive pincers unbalanced them.

The majority of ants parted around them, as if the rodents were offensive to them, but there were many that charged straight for them. They were warrior ants, with large pincers and robust features. Fast, strong, and ruthless. Faylo could see those eyes, soulless as they were, driven by a singular purpose that did not make them evil, but did make them enemies.

The first of the warrior ants was upon them! Uesstii brought her blade down in a wide arc, just as she had shown Faylo, and severed the front legs of the ant. It screeched! A horrible pained wail, but it mattered not, for Uesstii used her powerful leg to kick the wounded insect into the horde of ants. It disappeared in a sea of snapping jaws and was carried away. She made it look easy! And did the same to another, but this ant was mean. It met her sword with its jaws and snapped at Uesstii. Faylo squeaked a warning, but Uesstii grabbed the pincer with her free paw! The pincer crashed into her palm with a loud smack, as if it had hit the trunk of a hardy tree. She was like a tree, poised and rooted in her footing, and with her incredible strength, she twisted the beast to the ground in one motion, and with it the neck snapped, and the body twitched and spasmed in the throes of death.

Faylo was in awe of her beauty in battle. He stared at her form dumbly, and without care of the danger around him. He was behind her, and she was powerful, but he quickly realized he was hiding behind her and not helping. How could he leave such work to his beautiful mate to do alone? He steeled his nerves and took a deep breath. A warrior came to him at full sprint. He held his sword at the ready. The blade was shaking. His heart was racing! The horrifying insect was foul up close and with it came a sudden burst of fear.

Uesstii’s blade came down with a thunderous slash of light and fire! It severed the ant in twine, and with another blindingly fast strike, she lobbed the head off and sent the blazing corpse rolling through the dirt with a powerful kick!

‘Be calm!’ Uesstii howled above the frenzy.

Faylo nodded, but now even his legs were shaking, his knees nearly knocking together. He was scared! There was so many of them! All around them they came, circling, biting, and slashing with those pincers. Uesstii could barely keep up. She covered herself, but kept her back to his, and when she could, she zipped around and fended off an ant going for easier prey.

‘Swing your sword!’ Uesstii growled.

Faylo squeaked! And as if driven by instinct, he swung his sword and deflected the gnashing jaws of a big ant! That move was enough to send the ant stumbling backwards. Confidence swelled within him and he swung again, doing as he was taught. He sliced through the legs of the insect and it fell head first to the dirt, where it struggled to maintain balance. Blood gushed from the wound, splattered on the dirt, and painted its own body. That was enough to drive other ants to grab hold of it and pull it to the scurrying hoard.

That howl came again, powerful, and closer than ever, for the trees and the very earth trembled! The ants screeched and made for cover, but it was too late. A giant beast, like a cat, of tawny fur and rippling muscles, crashed through the undergrowth, and with its massive tusked jaws, it scooped up several ants at once and crushed them between gnashing teeth.

‘Run!’ Uesstii screamed!

Faylo was wide eyed and panic stricken! He did not move, even when Uesstii took off in the opposite direction of the large monster. She cursed herself for being hasty and ran back to grab Faylo, but the Baluyuntungaroo had seen them, and when it did, it howled, a hungry howl, of desire and want, as if the beast was tired of eating ants. It pounced at Faylo, a powerful leap that sailed it through the air, and it was fast for such a huge beast.

The great beast brought its paws down to squish Faylo, but Uesstii was quick, she pushed him out of the way just in time. The ground trembled under the weight of the Baluyuntungaroo. Faylo rolled through the dirt and looked to where Uesstii had been moments ago. She could not be seen under those giant paws. She was buried beneath them, forced into the muck and stone.

Faylo’s stomach wrenched horribly. He stared where his mate had just been, and a pit of despair consumed him, and he cried out! ‘Uesstii!’ A heartbroken wail!

The Baluyuntungaroo thought itself victorious and sniffed inquisitively at its paws, eager to have squirrel for supper, but those giant paws suddenly tensed and its whole body weight shifted backward. The ground trembled and the Baluyuntungaroo’s paws came up, and under it was Uesstii. She caught the paws in both of her own, and held the beast with impressive strength. Her knees felt like they were on fire and they wobbled with excess.

Faylo stared at her, wide eyed, and in awe of her incredible strength. She was alive! And hope surged through him, a wave of happiness. Her muscles rippled, blood dripped from her nostrils, and her eyes seemed to burn with fire and vigour! She barked! And with all of her strength, she forced those paws off of her and rolled out from under that terrible beast.

The Baluyuntungaroo was unbalanced by the impressive throw. It staggered backward and crashed against the trees with tremendous force! The trunks cracked and groaned, and the giant body of the beast sent splinters and dirt flying.

‘Get up!’ Uesstii squeaked!

Faylo was quick to his feet. Uesstii grabbed his paw and tugged him into the forest. They ran as fast as they could! And swiftly behind them was the Baluyuntungaroo. The fight was no longer predator and prey, not to the Baluyuntungaroo, for Uesstii was a powerful animal, of rivalling strength, and it felt threatened, beyond predation, and now it felt the need to protect its territory.

Those thunderous footfalls shook the very ground they stood on. She fought the urge to race up the nearest tree. Faylo could not follow, not easily, and speed would be necessary to be out of reach of such a giant creature. She cursed their bad luck and urged Faylo onward, faster now, as they darted between trees.

The sheer size of the Baluyuntungaroo made it difficult for it to follow the rodents. It crashed through the undergrowth, tore at small trees, and roared in frustration. It was enough to give the rodents a fair lead, but in doing so, they were pushed toward the marshland. Uesstii did not like this, but the Baluyuntungaroo was fast behind them. She pushed onward and dragged Faylo with her.

Footing became treacherous, wet and soggy, and the river was close, thick and heavy with reeds, flowering lilies, and hardy trees that sprouted in the water. Uesstii kept to the tightly packed mangrove roots, and Faylo followed into the wet and dark places. The Baluyuntungaroo crashed through the swamp!

‘This thing just won’t quit!’ Faylo squeaked! He was sharply out of breath.

‘Just keep running!’ Uesstii howled!

The going was tough, tougher yet, when they came to a mossy boulder. It was wet, scaled strangely, and smelled foul. Uesstii grabbed Faylo, spun in a great circle, all while he squeaked and flailed his arms, and she tossed him with incredible strength! He tumbled through the air and rolled across the boulder. She climbed up after him, easily finding the footing to do so with her sharp climbing claws. The boulder did not like that. It quivered, and in front of Uesstii as she climbed, two yellow eyes opened.

Uesstii’s eyes widened and she stared dumbly into one big eye. It focused on her for only a second and that was enough to have her scramble up and over, to push Faylo off, and she slid after him and they both splattered roughly against the wet and muck. The boulder shifted, looked to the Baluyuntungaroo, and it hopped! It shook the entire earth as it did, and with tremendous force, it crashed into the great beast and drove two large fangs deep into its flesh! The Baluyuntungaroo howled in pain!

‘A bullfrog!’ Faylo squeaked!

‘Shut up and run!’ Uesstii squeaked!

Uesstii wanted none of that. She grabbed Faylo’s paw and pulled him back into the safety of the woods. The sounds of the roaring battle could be heard for nearly a mile. They ran till they could not run anymore, and when their muscles burned, and the sounds of battle faded, Uesstii pulled Faylo between the roots of a large tree. They both dropped their packs and collapsed, panting and exhausted, nose to nose, whiskers and breath mingling.

‘Are you okay?’ Uesstii squeaked. She was panting heavily, chest heaving as she did, and with each breath she winced in pain.

‘Yeah.’ Faylo panted. ‘Are you? I thought I lost you back there!’

‘Yeah.’ She lied.

Faylo wiggled his nose, which was enough to tickle her whiskers and make her sneeze right on his face. Uesstii gasped! Wide eyed and hurrying to clean him, blushing furiously, as she barked out a round of profuse apologies.

‘Sorry!’ Uesstii squeaked! And began to wipe his face clean with her sleeve.

‘Must you always be covering me with your fluids?’

‘This is the first time I’ve heard you complain.’

Uesstii rubbed his face clean, pinched his cheek for good measure, and kissed his nose. He huffed.

‘There.’ Uesstii squeaked. ‘All clean.’ She gave him a sweet smile. ‘I suppose all sorts of embarrassing things will happen in our time together.’ She laughed, a joyous laugh! She looked in his beautiful, golden eyes and took in his fair and handsome form. She was suddenly filled with emotion.

‘Oh, Faylo!’ Uesstii pulled him in for a tight hug. ‘I’m so happy you’re okay.’

Faylo wiggled, squeaked, and struggled for only a moment, for she squished him with her incredible strength. He resigned himself to this fate, though it was not all unpleasant.

‘And I am glad you’re okay.’ Faylo squeaked. ‘You’re freakishly strong, you know!’ He was squeaking, high pitched as it was, because she was squishing his whole body to hers, as if he would float away from her.

‘I know!’ Uesstii laughed and peppered his face with kisses. ‘All the better to force my love upon you.’

‘You don’t need to force it!’

Uesstii batted her eyelashes at him. ‘Would you deny your mate the kisses she desires?’

‘I’ll give you all the kisses you want!’

Faylo playfully growled at her, and she giggled! He was getting feisty, confident, and more forceful as a male. She wanted that, deep down and without knowing she did, and when he began to struggle, to fight back, she squeaked! He was not nearly as strong as her, not even close, but he managed to wiggle from her grasp, grab her wrists, and pin her to the ground. Her heart was racing! He was on top of her now, looking to her with lustful eyes.

Adrenaline was still high between them. They were panting, exhausted, but full of vigour. And with it came a burst of arousal, a burning desire between them, and Faylo made good on those kisses. Their whiskers meshed and tangled! Her breath was warm and sweet, her lips soft and supple, and she tasted of squirrel; and her tongue was fierce against his! Her own way of trying to be dominant while under him, but he would not have it. He growled, not as playfully this time, and with his sharp buck teeth, he bit the side of her neck and tugged possessively! Uesstii squeaked! Bucked her hips forward and moaned loudly!

‘You’re mine.’ Faylo growled in her ear. His hot, wet breath tickled the fur inside it. ‘Now and forever.’

That was so hot! It made her squirm, squeak, and huff hotly. She was a trembling mess of heat driven arousal, an agonizing feeling! Thoughts swarmed her mind, all as lewd and naughty as the last! They narrowly escaped danger only a short time ago, and now she was on her back, bared to him, at his mercy, ready and willing, and very eager to breed. What will he do? The mere thought alone had her soaking wet and powerless in his paws.

It was not to be. Adrenaline came down, and both rodents felt faint, especially Faylo, for he fell away from her with a squeak. She huffed, but she was coming down, and those frustrations quickly melted away; but her heat was still very strong in the back of her mind.

‘I’m sorry.’ Faylo groaned. ‘I don’t know what came over me.’

‘It’s okay...’ Uesstii said, breathlessly. ‘We should be resting, not fooling around.’

Faylo rolled over on his side to look at her. ‘Are we safe here?’

‘I suppose we are.’ Uesstii sat up and stretched. ‘These roots should keep us safe from anything bigger than a squirrel.’

The rooty cavern was a pocket at the base of an old tree. It was roomy, with soft earth, and no sign of insects or offensive plants. Dry wood was in abundance, and soon they had a roaring fire. The safety and warmth was greatly appreciated by both rodents.

‘We should hide for a bit.’ Uesstii said, as she took a long draught of water from her canteen. ‘We pissed that thing off.’

‘The Ba... lu...’ Faylo scrunched his nose. ‘yun...’

‘The Baluyuntungaroo.’ Uesstii finished for him.

‘Yeah.’ Faylo chewed on some peanuts. ‘Do you think it’ll follow us to the mountains?’

‘I hope not.’ Uesstii yawned. ‘We’ll be far away from this place by nightfall, surely, and by then it’ll have long forgotten us.’

Conversation was light. Uesstii was antsy, paranoid, and got up regularly to peek outside. It made him feel uneasy, but he was a mouse, and they were known to be rather skittish. He took great comfort being at her side and by the fire, but the view of her beauty calmed him to his very soul. She was dirty, mucked up terribly, and her clothing was torn in several places, but her armour stayed true and her loincloth persisted. He so wished that wretched thing was torn off and lost to the forest.

‘Damn!’ Uesstii cursed.

‘What?’

‘I have to pee.’

‘What’s stopping you?’ Faylo asked.

‘I don’t want to go out there alone, and not now, not with that thing out there.’

‘Then go in here.’

‘Here?’ Uesstii blushed. ‘I mustn’t go in front of you.’

‘Why not?’ Faylo gave her a toothy grin. ‘I don’t mind.’

Uesstii huffed hotly, squeaked, wiggled, and barked! ‘You are a hopeless pervert!’ She said.

Faylo shrugged. ‘I’ve seen your pussy plenty of times now, you know. No need to hide it from me, right?’

‘So crass!’ Uesstii huffed. ‘This is different!’

‘How so?’ Faylo smirked. ‘You’ve been so eager to show me everything else these last few nights.’

‘But not pee in front of you!’

Uesstii's tail was a frenzy behind her, and her cheeks were blushed hotly, and her whiskers twitched. She had peed plenty of times this trip, and always within sight of Faylo, but not so intimately. She was only a few feet away from him in this little cave. She squeaked! A pressure was building, and it was quickly becoming unbearable. She danced in place and wiggled her toes. She had to go!

‘It’s for our own safety.’ Faylo snickered. ‘Besides, I’m your mate now, yeah? You don’t need to be shy.’

‘Fine!’

Uesstii mumbled something about Faylo being a dirty forest mouse, but desperation forced her to squat quickly, in full view of Faylo. She lifted her loincloth, wiggled her nose, and looked to Faylo’s golden eyes. He was watching her intently, with a big, dirty smile that infuriated her. That pouty, puffy squirrel pussy was drooling with nectar, a constant state of heat driven arousal, such sweet honey it was, for he could smell it from many feet away.

‘Must you watch me?’ Uesstii squeaked.

‘I want to.’

‘Why?’

‘I’m curious.’

There was no time to argue! She squeaked, blushed so hotly she thought she would melt, and began to pee; slowly at first, just a dribble. She was so nervous, but then it came faster, splattered across her pussy, soaked her fur, and streamed out to the dirt below. She sighed in relief and forgot all about Faylo’s invasive gaze, but Faylo did not forget about her, no, for he was watching with a blush of his own. He could see everything! The gentle, delicate stream of golden liquid, and how it twinkled and splattered against the dirt and grew steadily into a pool. It steamed in the brisk spring air, and wafted up between them, and tickled his nose. A familiar, harsh scent, mixed with the smell of her heat. He sniffed it in, audibly, without worry or care, and exhaled with a satisfied sigh.

Uesstii was nearly finished when she looked back at Faylo. The poor mouse was horny struck, dumbly looking at her pussy, nose wiggling, and his loincloth did nothing to hide his erection, which had grown past the covering of the cloth, and now his cock stood steaming in the fresh air. It was enough to make her squeak and blush, wiggle with her own growing fantasies. She loved the way he looked at her, with those hungry, lustful eyes.

‘You really like that, huh?’ Uesstii huffed.

Faylo was riding a pheromone high, basically trembling with pleasure. ‘Y-yes...’

Uesstii wiggled her nose. ‘I heard tell of males being into strange things.’

Faylo wiped at his nose. ‘Are you mad?’

Uesstii laughed! ‘Mad? At my precious little mouse? Never!’ She squeaked. ‘I’m just new to it all, you know.’

Faylo blushed, wiggled in place, and squished his cheeks with his paws. ‘So am I.’ He confessed. ‘But I have been so curious, and have had my head filled with many fantasies.’

‘Bedroom fantasies, huh?’ Uesstii gave him a sly smirk.

‘Yes.’

‘I suppose you read a few in your books.’

‘Lots!’

Uesstii rolled her eyes and tensed her pussy a few more times. Faylo watched as the last of her pee dribbled out. She wiped with a few leaves, tossed those to the side, and then let her loincloth fall back into place. Faylo squeaked his displeasure, but it was short lived, for she came right to him and sat shoulder to shoulder. Feeling her against him was always soothing; and of course, she kissed him on the cheek.

‘I feel so much better.’ Uesstii squeaked.

‘That looked relieving.’

(Content Warning Over)

Uesstii giggled. ‘I can’t believe I mated a pervert.’ She teased.

Faylo smirked. ‘You knew that the day you met me.’

‘I suppose I did.’

Faylo’s cock was still very hard. He did nothing to hide it. Why would he? She was his mate, not that it would have stopped him regardless. Uesstii looked at his cock with a fierce hunger, she felt heated because of it, and was nearly panting now as she placed a paw against the shaft and began to stroke up and down. He leaned back with a sigh.

‘That feels nice.’

Uesstii was horny brained now. She soaked her fingers in his arousal, a sticky fluid that dribbled from his tip, that clung to her fur and fingers. She loved that feel. That heat. His cock was soft, malleable, but was very firm, and it throbbed against her palm, almost randomly, but she found she could manipulate it, make it bounce with just a touch, and then it would splatter small shots of pre-cum. Much to her delight.

‘Such a needy mouse.’ Uesstii whispered in his ear, as sultry as possible, and it worked, for he wiggled and huffed. ‘What should I do with you, huh?’ She peppered his cheek with kisses, as she often did, and bit his ear and tugged!

‘Hey!’ Faylo rubbed his ear and squeaked. ‘That hurt!’

‘You’re mine.’ Uesstii growled. ‘I have to make sure you remember that.’

‘I wouldn’t forget!’ Faylo huffed.

The fire burned down to embers. It was past noon-hour by the time Uesstii decided to move on. She poked her head out of the cavern, looked about, sniffed the air, and then waved for Faylo to follow her. The Baluyuntungaroo was nowhere to be seen, heard, or smelled.

‘Do you think that bullfrog killed the Baluyuntungaroo?’ Faylo asked.

‘I hope so.’ Uesstii squeaked. ‘I don’t want it following us up the mountain.’

‘Why are we going up the mountain again?’

‘To find the Ulyphyn.’ Uesstii said.

‘How do you know you’ll see it from there?’ Faylo grabbed Uesstii’s paw and was hoisted up and over a large rock. ‘I thought these woods were exceptionally vast.’

‘It is.’ Uesstii nodded. ‘I received word on the whereabouts of the Ulyphyn weeks ago. Where it was last reported and where it was headed. I was actually on my way there before meeting you.’

‘And what if it isn’t there?’ Faylo squeaked.

Uesstii shrugged. ‘No big deal. There are other squirrel settlements throughout the forest. We can find information there.’

‘And a hot bath?’ Faylo asked, with hope in his voice.

‘Yes.’ Uesstii nodded. ‘Will cost a few coins, I would imagine.’

‘How much?’

‘Last Inn I was at charged three copper coins. A little rich for me.’

Faylo rummaged about a pocket and produced three gold coins. ‘Will these do?’

Uesstii took one from him and gave it a quick glance. ‘Likely. The minting is old, but I doubt anyone would hassle you over that.’

‘I’d be happy to pay for our baths.’

‘Generous mouse.’

‘It’s only natural!’ Faylo squeaked, with his usual enthusiasm. ‘What is mine is yours now, right?’

‘Already trying to pool our finances, huh?’ Uesstii giggled. ‘I suppose a husband would think of that.’

‘Have you not?’ Faylo wiggled his nose. ‘I’ve been thinking about a lot of things.’

Uesstii shrugged. ‘I travel light on coin, always have.’

‘How do you make money? This gold won’t last us forever, right?’

‘Such a worrisome mouse.’

‘I can’t help it.’

Uesstii flicked her tail and huffed. ‘I make most of my money in unsavoury ways, if you must know.’

‘Prostitution?’

Uesstii gave him a petrified look! ‘No, never! I was a maiden to the day I met you, I promise. No, I have not stooped as low as that, even if it’s a fine and respectable profession for females, but one such as I has never had to.’

Faylo seemed very relieved.

‘Then what else could be unsavoury?’

‘Gambling, bets, contests.’ Uesstii flexed her arm, showing off her impressive muscles. ‘And arm wrestling.’ She smirked.

Faylo looked to her muscular body with admiration. She noticed the way he looked at her, and so she stood a bit taller, puffed out her chest, and walked with a little more sway in her hips.

‘That doesn’t seem so bad.’ Faylo squeaked.

‘You can make a lot of enemies doing it.’ Uesstii squeaked. ‘Some beasts would love to get their dirty paws on me.’

‘I wouldn’t let them!’ Faylo growled.

‘Only your dirty paws are allowed to touch me, huh?’ Uesstii teased.

Faylo blushed, and opened his mouth to answer her, but it was silenced by an expert flick of her impossibly fluffy tail. He squeaked, a muffled, pathetic sound, and he pulled that tail from his face and spit out red fluff.

‘Your tail doesn’t taste good, you know.’

‘Are you calling me a dirty forest squirrel?’

Faylo smirked. ‘Yes.’

Uesstii rolled her eyes. ‘We can have a bath later. Besides, I thought you liked my taste.’ She gave him a sly grin.

Faylo wiggled his nose. ‘I do, I did!’

Uesstii grabbed his paw and squeezed it tight. ‘Calm down, mouse.’ She squeaked. ‘I’m just teasing you.’

‘You do that a lot.’ Faylo huffed.

‘You’re such an easy target!’ Uesstii giggled.

Faylo squeezed her paw and walked side by side with her now. The day was quickly becoming fair. Her paw was soothing and warm, and her mere present made the forest feel safe. He looked up at her, his mate, those big, beautiful and tufted ears, squirrel nose and whiskers, and the red and white fluff that covered her body; and her intoxicating scent! His heart fluttered when he looked at her, smelled her. He felt like he could take on the whole world with her at his side.

Nothing else bothered the rodents for the rest of that day. They travelled a great many miles, through thorn, bush, and tree; to where it all began to thin, and blue spruce, fir, and white pine grew. The terrain was rocky, sparse and patchy with undergrowth, and quickly the earth began to slope upwards again; far from those terrible masrshlands. And where they could see beyond the trees, between their massive trunks, the mountains loomed, an endless range as far as the eye could see.
