Such info brought excitement to the human; prompting her to resume filming the duo, only for Drake to make her put the camcorder down. “Now now, we're here to have a nice, and relaxing trip" Drake said; “You can record them once they've gotten used to your presence." Sad as it was for her, Tracie had to comply with Drake's words, as she started putting her camera away. She had just met Natsuru and Haru, and she didn't want to have a bad, first impression with them, not to mention ruin any chance she could have with documenting them.

“It's quicksand, mate; very bad stuff. Can very easily submerge your whole body completely, just like that."

Just from what he heard, the dragon gulped; he looked ready to panic, but he made sure he didn't, as per Drake's suggestion. Natsuru held on tightly to his friend's hands as the lynx continued to try to pull the dragon out. Despite how hard the feline was pulling, it didn't seem like the dragon was budging at all, and then it happened. In his attempt to help his friend out, Drake ended up slipping and was subsequently dragged into the quicksand. “Oh no, I'm so sorry", Natsuru apologized; instantly taking his hands off and away from Drake's at the realization that this was his own fault for dragging the lynx into the situation.

“It's fine, mate; none of us could've predicted this would happen", Drake said as his body was sinking. For the most part, the lynx was keeping his cool; making sure he didn't struggle as he was thinking of a way to get him and Natsuru out from their predicament. Even when it seemed like his body was sinking faster into the granular material, the lynx was still remained calm; albeit he was sweating in a panic. Drake also made sure that he and Natsuru were keeping their arms in the air, and then the feline brought his attention to the dragon's wings. “Hey, Nat; see if you can use your wings to fly out from the quicksand, and help me out."

Natsuru looked stunned after hearing Drake's suggestion; he immediately smacked himself in the head for forgetting that he had wings. The dragon began flapping his wings and moved his body in an attempt to get himself free, but that only made things worse for him. His movements came off as if he were struggling, which in turn ended up making him sink faster into the quicksand. Upon noticing that, Drake told his friend stop; of which the dragon did. “DAMN IT", Natsuru shouted; “I'm sorry I wasn't much help, Drake." As the dragon lowered his head in disappointment, he also just so happen to bring his arms down into the quicksand. Drake was left speechless from the scene and it took Natsuru a minute to realize his mistake. “OH NO!" In an attempt to try to bring his arms up, Natsuru was struggling some more; forgetting that doing that was only worse for him, and making Drake worry.

“Nat, stop; you're only making yourself sink faster. Don't struggle!"

Calming himself down, the dragon came to a complete stop; remaining motionless as he continued to slowly sink. “What do we do, Drake?"

“There's only one thing we can do, mate."

“HELP!"

As the two were yelling out for help - hoping for their friends to hear their voices - they were being watched by that same mechanical lookin dragonfly, that had followed them prior. The creature's eyes blinked a few times, before eventually flying off. Was it possible that it understood their plea, and was actually going to help them?

“Natsuru! Drake! Are you two here somewhere?" Walking and sniffing his way through the woods of the Cape Mystique, Haru was looking for his two friends. “I know I'm not heading in the wrong direction; Natsuru and Drake's scents passed through here. But now their scents have grown weak." Haru went back to calling out his friends' names; hoping to get any sort of response. He was starting to grow worried; the expression of sadness present on his face was proof of that. “I hope those two are ok, and if I don't find them, then I hope the others do." Just as quickly, the gryphon's sad expression had changed to that of annoyance when he had a random thought; “I also hope that Drake didn't do anything funny to Natsuru."

Now, while Haru was annoyed at the thought of the lynx being with his best friend, that wasn't the only reason as to why he was annoyed. It was also due to that fact that heard some buzzing sounds around him that didn't seem to go away. Haru stopped in his tracks; his fist balled up and fire surrounding them. “This endless buzzing is annoying." As he stood in place, his ears twitched and then he closed his hands together at the where the sound was; “GOTCHA!" Immediately after catching whatever he caught, Haru felt a stinging pain in hands, which made him shout and open his hands; releasing what he caught. It was that same mechanical looking dragonfly, and it was buzzing around the gryphon before flying off; Haru chasing after it for inflicting harm to him.

Chasing after the mechanical insect, Haru couldn't shake the feeling that the thing was leading him somewhere. He also felt that it was stupid of him to be chasing after the dragonfly, when he should be really looking for his friends. However, in the direction that he was heading, the gryphon's ears twitched again; “I'm hearing cries for help, and they sound like...Natsuru and Drake." Hearing their voices, Haru could tell that they were farther ahead, but just hearing them he could track where they were; following the direction of where their voices were coming from. Haru then focused his attention to the dragonfly that he was chasing, which flew off further ahead; “Was that thing leading me to them?"

Back with Natsuru and Drake; the men's bodies had sunk further down into the quicksand, and it continued on from there. The two winced out the moment their nipples were going down into the granular material. Aside from feeling the sand on nipples, Drake's arms were trembling; an obvious sign that he was tired of keeping his arms in the air. Soon enough, he brought them down into the quicksand; the look of disappointment now present on his face. “Damn it; worse time for my arms to tire out."

As for Natsuru, it looked like he was moving his submerged arms around, but he wasn't struggling. “It's a little difficult, but I can still my move arms around a bit. Maybe, just maybe…" Drake's eyes suddenly went wide; within the quicksand, he felt something stroking and squeezing him. “Drake, I got something. Whatever it is, it could maybe help us out of this mess." Since the dragon wasn't exactly paying attention to the lynx, he failed to notice the slight blush on the feline's face.

“Uh, mate...that's my dick your squeezing and pulling on."

“OH, I'M SORRY", Natsuru shouted; apparently letting go of the lynx's dick.

“Hehe, it's fine. If we're really going down in this stuff, then there's nothing really wrong with getting a quick rubbing."

The sudden sounds of the bushes rustling in front of the two, made both men bring their attention to them. They each sported a smile on their faces; expecting whomever was making the bushes rustle was someone to their rescue. Their hopes were shattered when all they saw that came out from them was a dragonfly; Natsuru and Drake losing hope as they continued to sink. The bushes rustle some more and coming out from them this was none other than Haru. “HARU", both men shouted out simultaneously.

From the look on his face, the gryphon was happy to have found the two; rushing over to them. “There you guys are; what are you two doing?" As he was bringing himself closer to them, Drake quickly told him to stop and to not come too close; warning him of the quicksand. Stopping himself just before he slipped into the stuff, the avian looked down to examine the situation. Just like Natsuru, he didn't know what quicksand was, but seeing as his friends didn't get themselves out easily, he quickly assumed it was far more dangerous than it looked. “I have an idea, but...you two won't like it, and it's a bit risky." Flapping his wings to hover off of the ground, Haru moved himself over to the two and grabbed them by their necks. The men gagged and their eyes looked as if they were ready to pop out from their sockets, as the gryphon tried to pull them out from the quicksand.

“Haru...this is...a really bad idea."

“GAH...you stupid bird...you're only...making our situation worse."

True to the lynx's words, Haru's attempted help only increased the men's struggling, and soon their heads were completely submerged in the quicksand, along with Haru's hands. “AAAHHH, NO!" Not wanting to give up, Haru continued to try to pull the dragon and lynx out; flapping his wings faster and pulling back, but to no avail. He was then flung into the granular material himself; head first. From the rapid movements of his body, it was very apparent that the gryphon was panicking. Because of that, his body was sinking down faster into the sand; his legs moving wildly until they were submerged. The last part of his body to sink down into the quicksand was the gryphon's tail, and the whole area became dead silent. The only thing there to see the three men's demise was the dragonfly that stood on a tree; its red eyes blinking rapidly.

Time flew by and soon Ace emerged from the bushes that stood a few feet away from the quicksand, and he was shocked by what he saw. “Hey girls, I've found them." Joining him were Lexi and Tracie, and together the three were staring at the bodies of Natsuru, Haru, and Drake. Their bodies having some leftover sand, their eyes completely blank, and their mouths were wide open. Ace, Lexi, and Tracie were worried, but seeing some slight movement from the bodies, as well as their slow breathing, the three gave a sigh of relief. “I don't know what they've been through, but at the very least they're still alive."
