So Long as You Are Not Afraid Pt. 2
Karniel and Mathus return! A hunter of the Faceless Order has shown up to Morgen's Rest and forces both Karniel and Mathus to accept the cost of being together.
The commissioner and I have a lot of exciting ideas for these two and stories we want to tell, so more will be coming! The first half of the next story in this series is up on my patreon, and will be posted here next Friday!

Mathus woke backside aching a little. Fur touched most of his body. Karniel had spooned the smaller human through the night, a possessive arm and leg hooked over Mathus to keep him close. His face rested on the bicep of Karniel’s other arm. He spent several minutes remaining still, wanting to draw out this soft, warm embrace. Long after the time to rouse he remained there. He listened to Karniel’s heart beat in his chest. Last night Mathus noticed it beat much slower than any humans. It was like slow leftover rainwater clinging to the edge of the roof, a thump… thump so paced out one might expect each to be the last drop. But it was not. It was not going anywhere, and Mathus cherished that heart so much. Even considering how anxious he felt when he thought of how their paths might diverge a month from now.
Mathus considered what Karniel might say if the bat knew he was quickly becoming the most cherished thing in the human’s life.
Probably something like, Of course I am. Was there ever any doubt?
Mathus giggled softly, which made Karniel’s ear flick. The arm around Mathus hugged him tighter before the bat yawned.
“Oh, must we get up, Mathus?”
“Hehe,” he nuzzled into Karniel’s arm and took a deep breath. All he smelled was the sage and musk of the bat. “We can sleep in, just this once.”
“Mmm, how merciful of you,” Karniel whispered. A level of grogginess affected the bat’s voice. “Really, darling, do not underestimate the ecstasy that is a lazy morning staying in.”
Mathus blushed a little. “Darling?”
Karniel tensed up ever so slightly, “Oh, did I say that out loud?”
Mathus wrapped his arm around the one Karniel had hooked over him. “I do not mind, long as you let me call you something back.”
“I will answer to Lord, Milord, or—”
“Dear.”
“Dear?”
“You are dear to me, Karniel.”
The bat scoffed, “Of course I am. I am the most important—” he stopped when Mathus laughed. “I beg your pardon?”
The human reached up and pulled Karniel down into a quick kiss before he said smugly, “I knew you would say something like that.”
“You are lucky I would starve without you.”
“Heh, yes, I am.”
Karniel huffed and tried to pretend he was offended, but the bat never stopped hugging Mathus close to him.

They did not leave the bed for a few hours, dozing on and off in their shared warmth before, finally, the need to relieve himself became too pressing for Mathus to ignore. Karniel followed behind a minute later, the bat unabashedly naked as he went to the kitchen to make Mathus breakfast.
As Karniel sorted through the larder, Mathus took the kettle to make some tea. When he opened the backdoor and stepped out to use the water pump, he found the village lively as usual. He did not even notice, as he cranked the pump, the hulking figure that approached him from behind.
“Excuse me, sir.”
Mathus started and spun around. He tripped over the kettle and fell onto his back. Groaning, he looked up and saw the second anthro he ever met. This male was a wolf of some kind who wore a darkly stained, leather face-mask that blended with the same armor he wore under his traveler’s cloak. He had two swords belted at his hip. His fur, what little Mathus could see, was grey spotted with flecks of black. His eyes, two sharp amber points, studied Mathus much as Mathus studied him.
“You are the apothecary Mathus, yes?” the wolf knelt down and offered a hand.
Mathus reminded himself that at a shout Karniel could be there—though the bat would not be much use with his curse… He swallowed the lump in throat and took the hand. The wolf helped him up and Mathus dusted himself off while saying, “I am, and you are?”
“Korlyon of the Faceless Order.”
“That explains the mask,” Mathus commented.
“Excuse me?”
“Oh! Sorry, I did not mean to be rude. Uh, what can I do for you Korlyon?”
Mathus now noticed they had onlookers. A band of folks across the street watched and muttered to each other.
“I am here for the creature Karniel. I understand you believe you are tending to him.”
Well, Mathus had assumed this the case but really wanted to believe the wolf just wanted some kind of herb. Mathus said the first lie that came to mind. “He left last night. See, look, he attacked me before he did.”
Mathus pulled up his sleeve.
“Mortel preserve us, you’re still feeding him?”
Mathus knew the game was blown, still, he pulled his sleeve down and said, “I do not know what you mean.”
“For propriety’s sake, man!” the wolf snapped, a hand resting on the hilt of one of his swords. “I can smell him cooking through this wall, I can smell what the two of you were doing last night!”
Mathus went pink. He grabbed his kettle and said, “I need to go.”
“Do not turn your back on me lest I think you are under his thrall.”
“Thrall?”
“Mathus?” the bat poked his large head out the door. He saw the two of them and rolled his eyes. “Oh for the love of—just come inside Mathus. That Faceless fool won’t hurt you.”
“Face me, beast!” the wolf snarled.
Karniel said, “Come inside and I will—oh wait you are too cowed by a god I killed centuries ago to even walk through a door!”
Korlyon roared and drew his sword. He lunged past Mathus, chopping down where Karniel’s head had been. The bat had darted back inside. The wolf howled, and took out his fury on the dirt. His blade hacked divets into the ground, but the wolf did not touch Mathus’ apothecary. Karniel called through the wall, “Come along, Mathus. He won’t enter your abode unless you give him permission.”
Across the street, the crowd was nearly dumbfounded as Mathus was. Warily, Mathus grabbed the kettle and sidled along the wall, the wolf totally oblivious to him as he snuck back inside. Karniel sat at the hearth working a pan over the fire.
“Thank you,” Karniel said. “I am, quite defenseless against those who might hunt me.”
Mathus asked as he set the kettle down next to the hearth, “He won’t try to force his way in?”
“The Order of the Faceless take oaths that they predictably follow to the letter. They will not harm anyone except their quarry, and they will never invade another’s property.”
“So I am safe but what about you?”
“Safe enough so long as you do not let him in.”
“Will he stay here long?”
“Oh, I have had hunters like him wait outside my castle gates for decades. It is tiresome, really.”
“Karniel!”
The bat’s ears swiveled to face Mathus. “What?”
Mathus said, “I do not want you trapped here into my old age.”
Karniel shrugged. “We will figure something out. And do not worry, with my strength recovered, I can easily flee from him should the need arise.” Karniel sighed and added. “It will be fine, Mathus. In this case you are perfectly safe.”
“Hmmph,” Mathus folded his arms over his chest. “I am not worried about me, I’m worried about losing you.”
“Oh.”
“Oh?”
Karniel studied Mathus very closely, food forgotten as it sizzled in the pan. Some unreadable expression behind his eyes. He shook his head, “It does not matter. Suffice it to say I am not afraid, and I will be damned before I lose the only source of food this material plane has to offer me.”
Mathus let it go and sat at a stool beside the hearth. “Did you really kill their god?”
“It was a lesser god. A mortal who found deification late in life, not one of the ancient ones. And really, it was self-defense when he attacked me. All I did was seduce his son.”
Mathus craned his head back and groaned.
Outside they heard the wolf proclaim, “You will not escape me Scourge of the South! This is not over!”
Karniel grunted, flicking his wrist to toss the vegetables he sautéed. “Overblown fellow, isn’t he?”
“You’re one to talk.”
“How dare you insinuate that I…”
***
Karniel paced upstairs while Mathus minded the shop. The bat’s mind wove in and out and every direction. Thoughts like water seeking passage through the soil only to be stopped again and again at bedrock. That bedrock being… a feeling. A feeling that alarmed Karniel because it had been, well, many centuries since he last felt it. At first he thought it must simply be the instinct to protect a food source, but then Karniel felt guilty for considering Mathus that in the first place. He managed not to face it the night before, but this new threat pressed upon Karniel the certain fact he had feelings for Mathus. What the man said downstairs… I am not worried about me, I’m worried about losing you. Karniel felt the same.
And it scared the bat more than being cursed did.
First, it had just been so long of course. Did Karniel know how to be in a relationship? Certainly he was unparalleled in the arts of lovemaking, but Karniel’s previous relationships had been with beings more… his equal. Mathus was wonderful and all, but he was so short-lived. That perspective made the man value life so damn much. Karniel lost count of the mortals he killed long ago, and that was only the ones he was directly responsible for… And if Mathus knew him, truly knew all the pain and suffering Karniel caused in the pursuit of his personal power and pleasure, could he ever expect that gentle soul to still love him back?
Oh, finding his own self repulsive really did not fit the reputation Karniel had built. He went to a shutter window next to the stairway and peeked outside. Korlyon was trying to talk to a group of humans on the street, which made Karniel grimace. He knew the way hunters worked: when they faced a barrier they worked others up into a frenzy to knock it down.
Karniel headed downstairs and found Mathus reading at the front counter. The human looked up from the tome and a smile teased at the corner of his lips. Dark curls nearly falling into his face. Karniel forgot for a moment what he came down for.
“Is everything alright, dear?” Mathus asked.
You are dear to me, Karniel, the bat’s chest fluttered remembering the words from the morning. Gods why couldn’t that wretched hunter have come a week sooner?
“I need to speak to you, about our predicament.”
“Oh good, is there something we can do?”
Karniel realized he came down to discuss Korlyon, but that what he had just said had nothing to do with the hunter. Dammit. Why was the stupid human’s lips so red? His cupid’s bow so delicately defined? Karniel huffed and said, “We need to prepare for the worst.”
Mathus shut his book. “I thought you said we did not need to worry.”
“I forgot this town might want the both of us gone more than they would distrust another outsider,” Karniel admitted. “While he might not raise his sword against you, he can get the townsfolk to raise theirs.”
Mathus frowned. “Wouldn’t that break his oath?”
“His kind care little for semantics,” Karniel said. “Listen, I need you to be prepared to flee with me should the time come.”
Mathus studied the bat for a moment. “You are serious? This is not some ruse to make me leave town with you?”
“Of course I am serious!” Karniel snapped. “I would never force you—even if I wasn’t cursed you are too important to me—” Karniel stopped himself. Mathus eyes had gone wide, but when he opened his mouth Karniel cut him off with, “I do not want to just run out with you under my arm. I am asking you, please pack a small bag of whatever belongings you might want with you.”
“Karniel…” Mathus was searching for something to say, but Karniel was still too afraid to hear it.
“Come on now, hop to it, I will try to sort through what provisions might be best to take with us.”
***
No one came to the apothecary that day until dusk. A knock on the door made Mathus perk up while Karniel stomped down the stairs. “Do not answer that Mathus!” the bat ordered, but at the same time from outside someone called, “Come out Mathus. We want to talk.”
Mathus hesitated. It was one of the hunters of the village. Karniel ducked into the front room and said, “There is a crowd of them out there. Korlyon got together his mob sooner than I thought.”
More banging on Mathus’ door. He asked Karniel, “What do we do?”
Karniel said, “I’m sorry, but I do not think we can stay here any longer.”
Mathus never kept his door locked. So, finally, someone outside took initiative and swung the door open. Several men came into the room brandishing spears. Ten in all with more outside. Mathus stood his ground and demanded, “What is the meaning of this?”
The leader of the group, a broad and stout man named Leman said, “We won’t cause you no trouble Mathus long as you agree to hand over that creature.”
“Creature? I will have you know—”
Mathus darted in front of Karniel and outstretched his arms protectively. “He is harmless. He literally cannot hurt anyone here.”
“Is it true he feeds on blood?” Leman asked. Three men were circling around the counter towards them.
Mathus and Karniel backed into the kitchen doorway. Mathus still tried to reason with them. “It is true, but he is being fed safely so he will not starve. He will leave, Leman, please. Can you all please trust me? Gregor, I helped your wife deliver your son last month, remember? Mel I helped your sister with her fever just last week. You all know I care about this village and the people in it—I would never—”
“Is it true you and that creature are sharing a bed?” Leman demanded quietly.
Karniel wrapped his arm around Mathus’ waist. “Time to go,” the bat said, and before Mathus could protest Karniel had picked him up and rushed up the stairs.
“After them!”
Karniel snatched the leather satchel on the table while Mathus was carried under arm. The bat said quickly, “Sorry about this, darling,” and never stopped moving. He slammed shoulder-first (the one not carrying Mathus) into the wall and smashed his way outside. Mathus heard wood snap, his body jostled, sleeve torn by a stray board, the cool night air on skin, and the two of them falling—and Karniel hugging Mathus tight to his chest. The bat landed rolling once across the ground before springing to his feet. Karniel carried Mathus bridal style, the leather satchel tucked in against him, he realized. Karniel charged south. They moved fast as a galloping horse. All of Mathus’ senses were too overloaded to notice the chaos Karniel caused. The bat ran the length of the village in a few seconds to the palisade. Karniel yelled, “Hang on!” and leapt. Mathus’ stomach lurched. They were in the air, hanging there a moment. High enough Mathus made out the forest canopy for miles and miles before they came falling back to earth.
Karniel landed hard on the other side of the palisade. This time the bat was not able hold onto Mathus and they both went sprawling through the dirt. Both lay on the ground a moment, catching their breath. Overhead, the stars were beginning to brighten the sky.
There was commotion still in the town. Dogs barking, bells ringing, and people clamoring and shouting. Karniel groaned and got up. He knelt beside Mathus and touched the man’s shoulder. He asked, “Mathus? Are you alright?”
Grunting, Mathus sat up and said, “I think so—but I just… Karniel were they going to kill me?”
Karniel hugged Mathus. “Had you stayed and tried to protect me, I’m afraid they might have,” the bat whispered in his ear.
“What now?” Mathus asked.
“For now, we need to run.”
***
At a jog, Karniel managed to cover a great distance in a few hours. At some point, hugged to the bat’s chest, under the steady rock of Karniel’s even lope, Mathus dozed off. He woke some time later when Karniel finally came to a stop. The bat panted raggedly and set Mathus gently down before falling on his haunches. They were in a clearing of sweet grass lit by the nearly full moon. Somewhere nearby Mathus heard a stream burbling.
Karniel, voice a little ragged, said, “We should, hah, be safe now.”
Mathus asked, “Where are we?”
Karniel grunted and took a deep breath before he said. “About fifty miles south of Morgen’s Rest. I am not familiar with the countryside, but we should be safe. Anyone pursuing us will take several days to catch up.”
Mathus studied his companion. Karniel continued catching his breath, limbs trembling. He seemed a little thinned out. Looking like he had two weeks ago. Mathus asked, “Are you alright?”
Karniel touched his side and cursed. “Aside from being horribly out of shape? I will be fine. Feats like this do come with a cost.”
Mathus scooted closer to Karniel and touched his shoulder. “Do you need to feed?”
Karniel shook his head. “I will be fine. I—”
“Karniel,” Mathus said a little more forcefully. “Do you need it?” Cast in moonlight, Mathus saw the hunger and conflict writ on Karniel’s face.
“You should not lose any more blood for the time being,” Karniel insisted. “I have gotten pretty good at ascertaining how much blood mortals need to function, trust me.”
Mathus’ brow furrowed, but he let it go. He turned around and sat down, leaning his back against Karniel’s side. The bat’s soft warmth probably the only comfort Mathus had out here. The only comfort Mathus had in the world now. He hugged his knees to his chest, trying to remain calm about all of this.
Karniel, at that moment, whispered, “I’m sorry, Mathus.”
“I lost everything,” Mathus breathed. His throat suddenly felt very dry. His books, his bed, his home… by midmorning folks in the village would start picking through his belongings. Even if he returned without Karniel in tow, he saw the look in those men’s eyes. He knew they would never let him return to Morgen’s Rest.
“I…” sorrow washed Karniel’s voice as well. “I never wanted this to happen to you.”
A part of Mathus wished he might be mad at Karniel, but he could not muster the strength. Instead all his blame he heaped at his own feet. Mathus quietly muttered, “It is not your fault.”
“Now that is just not true,” the bat said wryly. “Despite your pariah status in the village, I doubt they would have drummed up a mob just for you.” Mathus chuckled bitterly, which encouraged Karniel, “Though, if you were anyone else I might very well let you take the credit for this debacle.”
“Don’t like your food to have a guilty conscience?”
“Blood is like wine, darling, there is so much that can affect the terroir.”
“Hehe,” Mathus relaxed a little. He turned so he might lean side to side with Karniel. The bat wrapped his arm around the smaller man like a cloak. Mathus took a deep breath of his scent and said, “At least I have you.”
“For better or worse.”
“Mmm, I did not want to part ways with you, you know,” Mathus said.
“I did not want to lose you, either.”
“I am your food after all.”
“Hush now, you are far more important to me than that.”
Mathus’ chest fluttered a little. “I am?”
“Er,” Karniel cleared his throat, “I gave it away, didn’t I?”
“Karniel…”
“Mathus I care a great deal about you.” The bat turned so he sat facing the human. He stroked Mathus’ cheek. “But… it scares me as well.”
“What do you mean?” Mathus asked, tilting his head so Karniel cupped his face.
Karniel’s lips twitched. “Uh, well, what happened tonight was rather tame given the threats to my life that I have endured.”
Mathus gently took the hand holding his face and led it to his lap. He rubbed his fingers up and down the soft palm and whispered, “I admit tonight was pretty inconvenient, but I’m willing to face anything with you dear. Whatever may come, I am not afraid.”
Karniel smiled but it did not reach his eyes. “I know you are not. Truly, that is not what worries me.”
“Then what is it?”
“Mathus I am… hmm, I have told you before how I have lived. The longer you stay with me, the more you are sure to learn of all the—I cannot believe I am about to say this—wrongs I have committed—”
“You are afraid I will come to see you as a monster as well.”
Karniel grimaced. “Yes.”
Mathus studied the bat’s face. He asked, “Do you believe you are a monster, Karniel?”
The question left Karniel a little stunned. He did not have a ready answer. Karniel sighed and could not look at Mathus as he said, “Truly? Mathus I have lived my whole life thinking all that mattered was my own pleasure and carving out the power needed to take as much pleasure as I might. For two millennia I lived like that and…” Karniel took a deep breath before he mustered, “I was a monster, and I relished being a monster. When I was cursed, I thought life pointless if I could not exercise my power. Then I met you in the woods,” Karniel smiled at Mathus and the apothecary leaned in and rested his head on Karniel’s chest. Karniel continued, “You were stubborn and inserted yourself in my business quite rudely, but each moment I have spent with you has made me think more and more there is more in this world to live for. There is more than pleasure and power and exercising it on others. With you, I want to serve you, shower you in whatever devotion I can muster—I adore you, Mathus.”
A pleased little giggle escaped the human and he wrapped his arms around Karniel’s waist. “I feel the same way about you Karniel.” Mathus hugged him and said, “You were a monster, but you are not one anymore.”
Karniel kissed his head and said, “I will do whatever it takes to be worthy of you.”
They held each other there in the quiet. The nearby stream dragged its silk across the ground, burbling with a more talkative owl in the distance. The night might have been cold had it not been for Karniel’s great warmth.
Eventually, Karniel leaned away from the embrace and said, “There is something else I have not told you.”
“Hmm?”
“When we met, I told you pride would make me rather die than beg for someone to feed me. It was a foolish thing to say, but I am afraid I have been clinging to that pride.”
Mathus frowned. “What is it Karniel?”
Ears pinning back a little, Karniel said, “There is… another life essence I can feed on. One that would be quite pleasurable to take from you—”
Mathus scowled, “Do you mean to tell me—”
“I have never used that method of feeding before!” Karniel interjected. He grabbed Mathus’ shoulders to make sure the man remained beside him. “It is something I always thought beneath me.”
“Karniel!” Mathus hissed. “You mean to tell me I have been cutting myself open when we could have settled for you sucking my cock?”
Karniel let go of Mathus. “I understand you are mad.”
“I am! Just now I was planning on cutting myself open for you to restore some of your strength and you didn’t even mention an alternative—”
“Will you just let me explain—”
“Oh I get it,” Mathus got to his feet and turned to face the woods. He shouted, “Come world, come see! Karniel the Great! Killer of gods afraid to suck a dick!”
“Mathus!” Karniel on his feet now grabbed the man. “Why are you being so difficult?”
Mathus wheeled around and stamped his foot. “Because you kept this from me!”
“I am not saying my reasons are good, but I was too humiliated at the idea of—”
“I wouldn’t have forced you to do that!” Mathus snapped. They both stared each other down for a moment before he added, “If it still bothers you, I will continue bleeding myself for you.”
“Mathus, why would you?”
“Because you are worth the pain you selfish—”
Karniel grabbed Mathus and ripped him into a kiss. The human grunted in surprise, but did not fight it when Karniel’s lips massaged his open and their tongues met. All the tension in Mathus relaxed, or rather, turned into something else. They had been through so much tonight, but right now Karniel’s lips were a sweet reprieve. The bat’s nose washed breath over Mathus cheek. Karniel’s hand grabbed his butt and gave it a possessive squeeze.
Karniel broke the kiss, both of them panting. The bat wiped some saliva off his lips and said, “I told you that because that is how I want to feed from now on—with you at least. I want to bring you pleasure and serve you, Mathus.”
Mathus blushed. “You just wanted to be sure I knew how big a deal it will be when my cock is in your mouth.”
Karniel smirked and played along. “Am I that obvious?”
“Mmm, bats are hardly subtle.”
“Turning my words against me?”
“Hehe, and if I am?”
“Come here you,” Karniel growled and stole another kiss. When he broke it he breathed, “Mathus, last night was a first for you. Tonight I want to be a first for both of us.”
“Hehe, so self-important.”
Karniel flashed a winning smirk. “You love it,” he said and kissed Mathus again. The human went a little tense when Karniel groped his crotch. Already he had stiffened a little, and when Karniel’s fingers worked into Mathus’ trousers that heated length soon firmed completely. Mathus was actually a good size. Seven inches of cock that fit nicely in Karniel’s palm. His lips to Karniel’s was something the bat might write poetry about. Soft lines of flesh delicate against his, but heated and searching, with tongue teasing Karniel’s fangs. The bat practically had to fight with him to break the kiss before he sat on his knees.
Mathus panted above him but did not speak as the bat pulled his trousers down. A bead of precum capped the tip of the pale cock. In the moonlight it had a blue sheen, looked enticingly soft and firm. This close, Karniel’s heightened sense of smell got a good taste of his lover’s musk. It might have been the most masculine part of Mathus. That salty, sweaty musk of the human made Karniel’s nose twitch. He buried his snout into the man’s balls, and Mathus set a hand behind Karniel’s ear. The ancient bat did feel an impulse to shove the hand away, but he bottled it, trying to focus on the taste and touch of Mathus. He wanted to submit to the mortal, worship this body that fed him and let it take pleasure from him.
His tongue dragged down the middle of Mathus’ scrotum. The taste made Karniel’s toes curl. He sucked the scrotum to his lips, pale flesh between his white fangs. Massaging one orb with his tongue before moving to the other. Mathus bit his lip while watching Karniel work. The man, clearly unsure how to ask or order more, let Karniel lavish his lower hanging left nut a moment before he whispered, “Karniel.”
Karniel understood. He kissed up to the base of the man’s shaft. He rarely did more than this when servicing partners, but there was something desirable to the taste of Mathus’ cock. Salty skin both yielding and firm to Karniel’s tongue. The man gasping and squirming in pleasure as Karniel dragged wet lips along the side of the shaft. Karniel watched Mathus all the while. The human met his dark gaze with a reverence the bat found hard to name but definitely relished.
Finally, Karniel decided to tease the tip. He pulled back the flesh around the foreskin and lapped against the beaded cockhead. The taste of pre made Karniel moan unexpectedly. He had planned to tease Mathus some more, but the sudden taste of precum flipped some switch in his brain. Hunger laced with erotic desire. Karniel’s dick quickly pumped full of blood, mighty shaft tenting his pants as he wrapped his lips around Mathus’ dick. Both the apothecary’s hands rested on Karniel’s head. That dick fit perfectly between his front fangs, not quite rubbing against the sides of those large teeth as Karniel carefully worked his tongue and lips over Mathus’ shaft. More precum spurted inside Karniel’s mouth and he quaked. With anyone else he might be humiliated to seem like some submissive slut.
But when Mathus humped forward Karniel accepted his lover’s need. Mathus gasped, and testing his range with Karniel, began pumping his hips a little. Karniel obediently sucked Mathus cock. More precum graced his lips and left him abuzz with pleasure. A pleased smile peeked at the corner of Karniel’s lips. Very quickly he began to question why he had not done this sooner with someone. Though, Karniel worried some lower faculties in his mind might make him addicted to the thick shaft dripping inside his mouth. Drool ran down Karniel’s chin, the bat having become very still and glazed over. Then Mathus forced Karniel down into his crotch. Dick pounded into his throat. The meat inside him throbbed and shot another spurt. Karniel moaned. His nose twitched against his partner’s pubes while Mathus held him there. Karniel took in and out Mathus’ musk, and something about the scent soothed him. Told him to accept whatever Mathus might do to him right now. His own cock leaked and leaked.
The apothecary huffed and jerked his hips forward and back. Karniel’s maw was so warm and hot. His throat swallowed and squeezed Mathus’ tip. The man’s balls had drawn tight. He had wanted to last a little longer, but it was his first time being serviced by another male. Mathus moaned when he finally let go, doubling over Karniel’s face and humping a few inches forward and back inside the bat’s irresistible maw.
Karniel nearly came when Mathus’ sticky seed flooded the back of his mouth. It shot down his throat and Karniel swallowed. The taste was so very different from blood. Mathus’ cum was slimy and thick, wads of it Karniel could tease across his tongue, savoring the texture and potent flavor. The salt touched with just a hint of bitterness, but the heat, the satisfying sweetness to feeding, made Karniel desire it more and more. Karniel slid two fingers along the slick tip of his tented trousers and wet the digits. Just a moment before he reached around and forced both fingers inside the apothecary. He knew just where to thrust them, making Mathus moan loudly when the inhumanly large fingers shoved against the man’s prostate.
Mathus had not been ready for that. The fingers against his prostate caused an explosion of pressure and pleasure. The human quaked; gasping, clenching down as slick digits rubbed in and out his walls. They shoved and pressed his button to force more and more cum out his body.
Had Karniel the presence of mind to touch himself he might have finished as well. But, as he was, he happily suckled while Mathus humped like a feral dog. That cock shuddering and spurting its healthy load while Karniel kept pumping his fingers into that tight, shuddering hole. The human’s balls clenched against the bat’s chin as they delivered wave after wave of bliss.
Panting, Mathus came to before Karniel did. Mindful of how sensitive his whole shaft felt, he gingerly pulled out of Karniel’s mouth. When he did, Karniel finally looked up at him, dark eyes shining while he panted. Mathus knelt down and touched his cheek. “Hey how are you—” Karniel silenced Mathus with a kiss. The bat shoved Mathus on his back, the soft sweet grass making a fine enough bed for the two of them. Karniel’s pants were thrown off before the bat broke the kiss to sit up and strip off the shirt he wore. His chocolate hide took on a violet sheen in the moonlight, his lithe, athletic body a stunning sight.
Mathus gawked until Karniel leaned in again, soft fur teasing against his skin as Karniel whispered, “I want you to fuck me, Mathus.”
The bat’s dick slid up against his, warm flesh throbbing against Mathus’ quickly reviving shaft. He asked, “Are you certain?”
“Yes,” Karniel growled.
“It’s just I might not be very good since—”
“Quiet,” Karniel whispered before he got up and turned around. The bat’s muscular backside moved closer to Mathus’ face, with Karniel ordering, “Shut up and prepare me.”
Mathus knew what Karniel meant and, heart pounding, he grabbed Karniel’s ass. The bat’s soft butt filled both of Mathus’ palms, firm muscle flexing while Karniel made a pleased rumble. The bat sat backwards and soon Mathus’ face was buried underneath Karniel. The bat was, of course, immaculate, not using this entrance for anything in some time. But its earthy musk, as it rubbed into Mathus’ face, is what really eased any concerns he had. He licked cross puckered flesh. The tender bud flexed a little under his tasting. He swirled his tongue around, finding the taste desirable. Something about Karniel smothering him like this felt good. He burrowed his face deeper to get his lips against Karniel’s entrance. He kissed the rim, nose pushed up against the flesh and unable to breathe as, frantically, he dragged his tongue all around that hole. His chest became tight while he kissed and sucked on the bat’s entrance. He bathed it in saliva, tongue probing and testing. Mathus wished his tongue longer. He wanted to penetrate Karniel with it, to taste the bat everywhere. His hips humped upwards into the air. He barely noticed Karniel riding backwards into his face. The bat’s back arching. Karniel the Great’s tongue drooling out his mouth while he squeezed and teased his pecs.
Eventually, chest aching, Mathus fell backwards gasping for breath. His face had flushed red and he was a little dizzy from his efforts. Karniel’s asshole dripped spit. The wet patch spreading through his fur till the bat spun around and saddled Mathus’ waist. Karniel grabbed Mathus’ hand and pushed it onto the bat’s slimy and slick urethra. His palm became smeared with the thick precum before Karniel ordered, “Spread that on yours.”
Mathus squeezed Karniel’s head, the flesh shrinking a little and more precum splashing across Mathus hand. He then rubbed the fluids up and down his own shaft. Karniel did not wait, he sat down and Mathus’ cock slid between his crack, missing its mark.
Snarling, Karniel said, “I need you Mathus. Hurry—hurry please.” Mathus struggled to reach around Karniel’s hips and line up his cock. When Karniel lifted, Mathus felt his tip tease that entrance, and he tipped it just so. When Karniel’s hips rolled backwards again both men gasped. Tight heat enveloped half of Mathus’ shaft in a moment. The walls clenched, their soft warmth a spasm of pleasure. Mathus huffed and grabbed the bat’s toned thighs. Karniel had his teeth clenched, panting.
Mathus asked, “You, ah, alright?”
“It hurts more…” Karniel took a breath, “than I expected.”
Mathus laughed a little. “It’s your first time Karniel, relax.”
Karniel scowled down at him, but his expression broke when Mathus touched his cock. That thick, heavy shaft dripped more precum down into the bat’s tense balls. Mathus rubbed the underside of his dick. Karniel panted.
“M-Mathus if you do that…”
“I know, Karniel.”
“Fuck,” the bat whined, breath growing ragged as Mathus stroked him with one hand. His other hand he placed against Karniel’s slick urethra, sliding his palm up and down.
Mathus urged, “Focus on the pleasure.”
“I-I… Gods Mathus…” Karniel’s eyes had shut. He trembled while Mathus’ palm made circular motions across his tip. His mouth hung open, his dick throbbed greater and greater. Each pulse a little jump in Mathus’ hands. Another spurt of pre. It was dripping onto Mathus’ shirt and soaking through to his skin.
Slowly, Karniel worked his hips lower. Gasping, whimpering, the bat’s back arched when he hilted Mathus. Karniel’s cock blew a moment later. His walls milked up and down the human’s cock while spilling cum. The first shot Mathus’ palm blocked and it sprayed in every direction. The next left a thick rope of seed across Mathus’ face and head. The next across his chest and neck. Karniel’s whole body quaked as he came, moaning in a rakish, high pitch of some slut. His balls and cock flexing with each wave of seed. Mathus eventually grabbed Karniel’s hose and pointed it upward. Cum fountained up then down the bat’s hips, waist, cock, and balls. It covered both of them in the potent, smelly semen. Mathus panting, forgot entirely about trying to get off himself, simply in awe of how great Karniel’s orgasm seemed.
When Karniel began to come down from his high, he noticed too that Mathus had not finished. Karniel needed to feel it. Taking a deep breath, he dragged himself off his partner’s cock. Both men panted as Karniel got on all fours. He looked over his shoulder and spread his legs. “Come on, Mathus. We’re not done,” he begged, “please fuck me. I need to feel your cum inside me.”
Mathus quickly got up, cum sliding down his ruined shirt and skin. Karniel watched him line up before the human’s girth split him open. Karniel sang for the moon. His moaning something he let fly from his body as that wonderful fullness returned. When he clutched his inner muscles he could feel every contour of Mathus’ cock. The middle of the shaft a little thicker than the end or base. The way his walls made Mathus’ foreskin pull forward and back.
Mathus had used some of Karniel’s cum to lube his cock. So now Karniel’s entrance was a frothy smear of seed. Mathus pumped his hips, and as he did he hit that spot that made Karniel cum in the first place. The bat’s dick twitched when his prostate was stroked. That stone of pleasure fastened inside his body. Touched for the first time tonight. A pleasure Karniel spent two millennia not knowing.
He sighed in bliss, biting his lip before he whined, “Mathus! Fuck, I love your cock—it’s so good… fuck me, fuck me harder—”
Mathus groaned and uttered a curse.
Karniel rocked his hips back in time with Mathus’ thrust. He said, “You’re close aren’t you?”
“Y-yes Karniel.”
“Please, please breed me Mathus. Mark me. Ruin me with your cum fuck!” Karniel’s own body was tense with pleasure. His balls becoming tight again. He panted, whining while Mathus’ thrusting got faster. More ragged.
“Here it, ah, comes!”
“Yes please Mathus!” Karniel nearly shouted, arms and legs wobbling as the human slammed his hips against the bat’s rear. He felt the cock flex inside him and Karniel blacked out a moment.
Mathus was conscious for Karniel’s howl, felt him clenching down as the bat orgasmed again. Mathus heard the bat’s cum splash and shoot across the grass. He fell against Karniel’s back, doubled over by pleasure, his hips still gyrating into that quivering butt. Mathus’ balls unloaded hard as they had the first time into that tight, melting heat. The man gasped, cheek to Karniel’s spine as the bat’s passage worked him over until his larger partner collapsed as well.
Karniel came to cock still cumming between the grass and his belly. His fur was sticky with ejaculate as pleasure radiated through his body. Feeding was always pleasurable, but this was a high Karniel did not know existed. It made him concerned he might quickly become addicted. He had made quite the life as a hedonist, and there was certainly something irresistible about having Mathus fill his backside.
Both men panted in the clearing, dazed and recovering. It was Mathus who managed to stir first, sitting up on his elbows he asked, “You alright, dear?”
Karniel reached behind him and shoved Mathus’ face into his furry back. “Let’s sleep here tonight, darling.”
“Sounds good,” Mathus said, turning his face so he wasn’t suffocated. “You did not answer my question.”
One of Karniel’s large, pointed ears flicked. “What do you want me to say? The love of my life took me to heights of pleasure I never before reached?”
“Love of your life, huh?”
Growling, Karniel rolled over. Mathus fell off him, laughing as the bat then pulled him close. Karniel said, “Of course I love you. Isn’t it obvious? Was the smell of sweet grass and cum as we lay together in a clearing not a good enough hint? I will not rough it for just anyone mind you.”
Snickering, Mathus rubbed noses with the indignant bat. “I love you, too, Karniel.”
“Hmmph, you better.”
“Hehehe,” Mathus kissed his cheek and whispered, “You’re the love of my life also.”
“Of course I am. Was there ever any doubt?”

“Thank you for the horse,” Korlyon said to the stout villager who helped organize the militia for Morgen’s Rest.
“Not a problem long as you make sure that bat never comes back,” Leman said.
Korlyon checked the horse’s saddle, making every buckle was cinched and secure. He turned to the man as they stood beside the gate to the village. He said, “On my family’s honor, you can count on that bat dying by my blade.”
“I trust we won’t be seeing you again, stranger?”
Korlyon nodded. “If you are lucky my order will never have business this far north again. Here,” the wolf tossed Leman a purse. “For your trouble.”
While the man inspected the coinage, Korlyon hoisted himself onto the horse. “You going to be able to track him?” Leman asked.
The wolf tapped his nose and said, “I followed him here, and I’ll follow him over the edge of the world if I need to.” Kicking into the horses sides, he started heading south through the night.
