Chapter 3: A Memory Changed

For Mowgli-Tales

By Draconicon

The warmth of the morning had none of the oppressive heat of midday, nor the comforting warmth of the evening as the heat of the sun lingered in the stone and the earth. Instead, it was a cool warmth, the sort that sent most of the nagas back into slumber to wait it out. Lord Solem, however, had his ways of encouraging himself to wake. Or rather, his servants did, and he encouraged them.

The naga had coiled up tightly around several of his slaves, the mindless things barely there as he drifted away. He was halfway back to sleep when he heard the footsteps of another, the soft click-clack of the trimmed claws of a wolf. Solem smiled to himself, his forked tongue slipping from his lips in muted laughter as he waited for the appearance of his butler.

The wolf appeared shortly after the sound did, and the round-hipped canine stood in the doorway. For a time, Solem kept his eyes closed, feigning sleep, and eventually Heeni shook his head.

“You don’t fool anyone, He Who Coils the World.”

“You spoil my fun, my wolf.”

There was a hiss to his voice, even this early in the morning, but he had already tuned it out, as he always did. The sound of a hiss, the sibilance of that sound in a snake’s mouth, had always bothered him. It made them sound like less of a person, like they were incapable of making the right sound.

But it was there, regardless, and he would continue to ignore the hiss, pretending that he made a proper sound.

He lifted his head, looking down at the wolf as he entered the room. As he flicked his tongue, he tasted the scent of another, and he chuckled under his breath.

“You have tended to the human properly, indeed.”

“He was most unwilling, and most unsatisfactory.”

“You would have found him so even if he were as endowed as the bulls, my wolf.”

He cleared a small space in his coils, separate to the sleeping slaves that provided him warmth through the night. Heeni immediately slipped in, the wolf shaking his head, running down the snake’s body to the familiar slit.

Lord Solem groaned softly as he was fondled, fingers pressing inside to find his cocks and encouraging them to grow. The wolf had a fine hand with these duties, and it was always a pleasure to feel him so eager in the morning. He smiled, closing his eyes as the soft-furred fingers soon plucked at his shafts, dragging them out into the morning air for a mere second before –

“Mmmmmm…”

The warmth of an eager tongue worked along the paired shafts, the two of them getting bathed in slippery spit, pulled deeper into an eager muzzle that was all too willing to swallow them into its throat. Heeni had always been one of those slaves that barely needed the encouragement of hypnosis to do what he did, and it was always a pleasure to feel him going for what he wanted so quickly.

Of course, there was some hypnosis required. After all, there did not exist a slave that would be completely eager for this sort of position. But Heeni was more eager than most.

Might as well check on his mental state.

“Look at me, slave.”

The wolf looked up, and the snake met his eyes. In that moment, they were bonded together once more.

#

The flicker of light between their eyes diminished, leaving the naga in the middle of the wolf’s mind. He saw the silken threads that ran from one memory to another, the soft bindings that led to the wolf’s mental self in the very middle.

Heeni hung from the memories that the naga had planted inside, the little memories of being in the snake’s service since he was a pup, memories of losing his virginity to the snake lord, the memory of giving himself into the snake’s full service when he became an adult and begging for everything that he might have in that position. Pleasure, the chance to worship, the wonder of being under a proper naga: all of these things and more had been promised, and the wolf had been given each one.

Lord Solem smiled as he slithered around the dangling, sleeping canine, shaking his head at the bindings that he had created over the years. It had been such a simple task back then, bringing the wolf down into a trance and gradually inserting one memory after another. The chains that he had woven between the willing slave and the new memories had created another reality that the wolf and the wolf alone lived in, and it was almost a wonder that it had stood up this long.

Yet, at the same time, he marveled at the way that the wolf loved to live in the fantasy world that had been created in his mind. There were a hundred little holes that might be poked in it, a million little inconsistencies that were unavoidable over time. There were places where the wolf remembered being free, the glory of submitting to the naga in public for the first time, and there were other places where he remembered that he had always been born a slave, and that their first time had been an intimate thing, done in the dark away from prying eyes.

All of those things were there, all ways for Heeni to break through his false existence and back to the real one, but the wolf didn’t show any sign of wanting that. All he did was live the way that his master wanted him to live, and that seemed to be good enough for him.

“You are a slave such as all others would dream to be,” he said, stroking his hand along the thigh of the sleeping wolf. “You remember where you belong, and you embrace it. You do not question anything but my bad habits…and I am blessed to have you.”

He smiled, leaning up to kiss the dangling wolf’s belly, and then broke the trance.

#

They were back in bed, and now, the wolf was moaning. Heeni was hard as could be, the wolf’s cock throbbing and dripping on the bed, and the other slaves were slowly starting to moan as well. They were picking up on the lust of the greatest of their number, and it was clear that they wanted a turn just as badly as Heeni did.

Not that they would get it. He had his plans for the morning, and after the wolf was done, the human must be seen to.

Speaking of…

He gently nudged the wolf back from his cocks, grunting and hissing at the feeling of them popping free of the canine’s mouth. Heeni looked up at him with an expression of worship that was normally reserved for the deities of other lands, but the naga took it as his due. After all, why wouldn’t it be?

“Have you received any more information on our newest slave?”

“He is a human from a far-off land, master. Most information will take time to arrive, but I have gleaned a few small bits of information.”

“Then tell me, so I may break him properly.”

“He is a man of importance in his land. He is more than a mere warrior, more than what the slave-traders were trying to sell. There is a sense of honor to him that must be broken, but when it is, you can attach it to you in a way that you could not with other slaves.”

Lord Solem nodded, storing the information away. It wasn’t the most immediately helpful knowledge, but it was far from useless. This was the sort of thing that built up over time, things that led to other discoveries, other ways of bringing people to their knees. He gestured for the wolf to continue.

“I have knowledge that his father was someone important, as well. His honor and status comes not merely from his own deeds, oh Master of All, but also from the deeds of his father. More than that, he was captured in war; I imagine that his father is someone high in their command.”

“Then why haven’t we heard anything about a ransom?”

“The young man’s father may have died, master, or perhaps they believe that the boy himself has been killed in battle. Certainly, he was unhorsed, and among them, they may believe that to be as good as death.”

“Heh, yes…savages, all.”

The snake shook his head. It wasn’t the full profile that he imagined Heeni would be able to amass over the next few days, but it was far more than he had to work with before. Even in his brief glimpse into the human’s mind, there had been very little to glean. The young human had been able to hold back more than he expected, more than the average person could.

And to break the first chain so quickly, so easily…

The naga could not help but be intrigued. Not merely for the fact that it would take more than a few little tricks to break the human, but also from a personal interest in seeing how he could bring the human to heel. After all, the tricks of his species were their key to power. If there were any that might resist them…

Well, it might lead to a whole new order in the world, and they couldn’t have that…

#

For all that he had complained the night before, Ako admitted that he woke up the most relaxed that he had been in months. It wasn’t a feeling that he particularly liked to admit to feeling, but he couldn’t deny that it was the truth.

The human laid atop his blankets, his hands folded over his waist. His shenti had been taken during the night, pulled off somewhere by that wolf, doubtlessly, and it had left him with nothing to wear. The feeling of his bare shaft resting against his leg was almost uncomfortable, and he didn’t know what to do without something to grant him at least a hint of modesty.

Yet, at the same time, he could not stay where he was forever. He knew that the naga lord would be coming for him, eventually, and he knew even better than that that the wolf would find him if he laid there for long.

I must find my way out…

The naked young man pulled himself from his bed on silent feet, taking a step or two across the soft floor. It was made of rock, yes, but it was smoothed out, doubtlessly for the comfort of the one that owned the house. Ako imagined him crawling around on the harder, sharper rocks of the steppes out in the desert, and the irritation and pain such an action would likely cause gave him some hint of comfort and satisfaction.

Shaking his head, he kept walking, sneaking out of his room and down the hall. The feeling of his own nudity left him constantly blushing, knowing that he ran the risk of being caught and exposed like this. The feeling of his cock dangling down, the feeling of the smooth stone against his bare feet, the occasional breeze along his backside: it all combined to give him the feeling of being a prisoner, to remind him that he wasn’t here of his own free will, and that he needed more than anything to get out…

Or at least, find some clothes.

He had managed to search several other rooms, all other slave quarters, before he heard the rasping sound of scales on scales. Ako paused, his eyes wide, and he slowly looked down the hall that he’d just left.

The naga lord was on the approach, his scales gleaming as if freshly oiled. His hood flared, and his eyes…

The human caught the eyes for a moment, but he looked away almost immediately. To stare into those eyes would mean surrendering to the will behind them. He might have rested, but he did not trust himself to a battle like that. It would be better to avoid engaging with it, if at all possible, and he knew that it would be a long time before he felt confident in a fight between his mind and the naga lord.

For now, avoidance was best.

He hid in the nearest room he could find, throwing himself beneath the bed and then wiggling further and further toward the wall. Ako pulled his arms and legs in tight, making himself into a ball so that nothing stuck out from under the bed. He presented the smallest target that he could, and his oiled body…

Oil.

He looked out at the floor again, and belatedly saw the footprints that his oiled soles had left behind. The young warrior groaned under his breath, fighting the urge to bang his head against the floor for such a stupid mistake.

The naga was at the door already, preventing him from correcting it. He stared up at the lord of the snakes, and shook his head slowly.

“You found me,” he muttered.

“Yessss. It wassss not that difficult.”

“What do you want?”

“Well, firssst, perhapssss you ssshould emerge from beneath the bed.”

He didn’t want to, but he knew that he could be forced with ease. The prince shook his head, slowly crawling to the side and stepping free.

As soon as he did, he could feel the eyes of the serpent wandering up and down his body, looking at him, examining him, taking in the sight of his bald skin. The feeling of the cool morning against his flesh without anything between him and it was something different. Not just the feeling of being naked, but being so…smooth. It was like being a child again, in a way, but with too much naughty sensation to be so innocent.

He forced himself to keep his hands at his sides, refusing to cover himself even as the snake very obviously looked down between his legs. He forced himself to stare straight ahead, to not give in, to not give any sort of satisfaction or sign of his embarrassment. He was still a warrior, even if the bush of manhood had been stripped from him.

The naga lord slithered close, and one scaly hand dropped. Ako grabbed it by the wrist before it could grip him.

“I am not your slave.”

“I have already purchassssed you. There issss no going back.”

“I will not submit.”

“Oh, but you will.”

And then their eyes met, and there was a flicker.

#

Ako stood in the midst of chains, and he felt them pressing against him here and there. The memories of his lifetime, the period of time that he had spent under his father, the time that he had gone out to fight on his own, the years where he had served in the army as well as the palace, the loves, the losses, the victories, the triumphs. Everything was there, all of it connected, all of it running out from and into him.

He could dance between them, but so could the unwelcome guest in his mind.

The naga lord followed him between the chains, slithering among them like a boa through the trees, and as fast and furiously as Ako danced and jumped between the chains, he could not leave the naga behind.

“A fast little one, are you not?”

“You speak better in here,” the prince muttered, ducking under the naga’s tail, avoiding its embrace.

“I speak fine in the other world.”

“You don’t hiss here.”

“I never hiss unless enraged.”

“Self-fooling idiot.”

“Please, speak that in a mirror for its proper audience.”

They danced and fought each other, sliding from chain to chain. Every time they made contact with a new one, he could feel the shift in the world around him, the reminder of what he was, of where he had come from. The dark chains were soft and smooth, and they embraced him with memory after memory. He leaped from one fight with his father, an angry debacle that had almost gotten him banished, to a memory of a fight that had proven his skill on a horse. He jumped again –

“Ah!”

And immediately was embraced by the memory of his first time with another male. The feeling of a human soldier pressed against him, flesh on flesh, their shafts grinding on one another. He remembered how they had felt together, how the other man had managed to get him pinned for a moment, their cocks oozing against one another before he flipped them over again. The feeling of that hole opening before him at the end of their wrestling match –

And then something changed. He…he remembered…something else…

Ako flung himself from the chain, shaking his head as he landed on another, one less overpowering. The prince stared at the dark links that ran between himself and the distant sources of memory. Something…something had changed…

Because he remembered a naga, and his father had no nagas under his power.

Lord Solem slithered out from under the chain, his eyes glinting, and Ako shook his head. He closed his eyes –

#

And opened them again, feeling the caress of the snake’s coils around his legs. He hissed himself, thrusting himself up and out of the embrace, shaking his head rapidly at the feeling of the coils sliding down along his calves.

“What did you do?”

“What do you mean, what did I do? Nothing at all,” the naga said.

“You lie. You were…you were in…”

“Your memoriessss?”

“And you hiss again…”

“In your mind, we are equal…for now. In time, many thingssss will change.”

The naga’s soft hissing voice was not particularly pleasant to the ears, and were it not for the fact that he didn’t trust what had happened to him in that mental fight, he would have preferred for them to discuss things there.

But something had changed. Something more than just the pair of them fighting in his own mind. They had fought…and while they had fought, his memories had changed. Something had been lost, and something had been gained.

But what? He tried to focus on the memory while still moving away from the tail, trying to pull it to mind.

It had been his first time with another man, he could remember that. Another soldier, a warrior that had been under his father’s command, someone that had been useful in battle, but had been rather attractive, as well.

Someone that I knew…

Yet, the face on the other man was blank. He could not remember him, not in the way that he had sworn he had been able to remember other things just a little while ago. Instead, his attention in the memory shifted, moving to –

Naga…

And not just any naga. Lord Solem. He could see the naga in front of him in his mind’s eye, see him coiled up on a nearby chair, offering commentary, even advice towards how to pleasure each other. Yet, for all the absurdity of having a snake there as an advisor, there was something iron to it, something that prevented him from shifting the memory and breaking it apart.

It’s wrong. It’s wrong.

Yet, for all that he tried to command his memories to come back, to give him truth and tell him what had happened, they refused. All he could see was the naga in the corner, hear the voice of Solem correcting his pose, his stance, his thrusting rate. There was a constant critique, a way to make it better, a way to show him how to be better.

He shook his head, trying to push it out of his mind, but the image remained, and it refused to leave.

As the prince stumbled back, the naga leaned in, smiling.

“You are important. I knew it when I bought you, and I sssaw it in your mind. Who are you, little human?”

“Greater than you will ever be.”

“A lie, but a fun one. Tell me your title, little human.”

“Hmmph.”

“I will sssee it, eventually; why don’t you tell me? Are you assshamed?”

“No!”

“Then tell me, allow me to give ‘glory’ to the one that I’ve purchassssed.”

Ako gritted his teeth. It felt too much like a surrender, a way of giving the naga what he wanted. A proper prisoner of war would resist giving the enemy anything unless it was a lie, and even then, they would question it.

At the same time, he knew that there was little choice. He needed to find some way to get something out of the naga, and if that meant giving the truth of his position…well, then he might have to do that.

“I…am a prince.”

“Truly?”

“Is it so hard to believe?”

The naga glanced down again, looking the young warrior over a few times, and once more, it took everything that Ako had not to cover himself, not to react to the humiliation of someone staring at him like that. It was something that he still didn’t understand, considering the number of times that the warriors back home had bathed around him, and there had been no difficulty there, but now…

Now, there was something different about it, particularly as the naga looked down at his shaft and teased them with his stare, almost like he was cocky about something. Ako cleared his throat, crossing his arms across his chest.

“I am a prince, and I am of a bloodline that looks down on yours.”

“Hardly possssible. I am a naga, and we look down on all.”

“You are a snake. A lizard without legs that slithers through the sand. We are humans, who ride the great horses through the steppes, who conquer all that stand before us.”

“Except in the lasssst battle, I believe.”

The reminder was not a welcome one, despite being true. Ako took a deep breath, then shook his head.

“You asked who I am, and I answered.”

“Yesssss, you did. And I believe you are more valuable than ever.”

“…”

“A prince, in my home? Ha. My guesssstsss will ssssee you and go green with envy.”

“I don’t care about your guests.”

“No, you care about your comfortsss, yessss?”

The naga chuckled, slithering himself into a little circle and patting his coils. Ako shook his head, preferring to remain standing.

However, before he could take a more solid stance, the snake swept his tail tip out, grabbing him by the ankle. The naked prince could hardly keep his balance as he was pulled forward, almost knocked off his feet several times before he was made to sit in the snake’s coils.

“That’ssss better.”

“You cheat.”

“I am the masssster. I am allowed.”

Solem smiled, and Ako glared. There was no difference now than there had been before, and now the snake knew what he was. If there had been a chance to keep his father from getting involved, to keep a ransom from being made and his people beggared, he didn’t know what it was anymore.

The naga looked down at him with his head cocked ever so slightly sideways, and it reminded him of the memory – fake memory, he reminded himself – of the snake in his past, the way that he had been studied in the middle of his first time. The way that he had been lectured, pushed, encouraged to different positions.

And…

No, something else was wrong. It wasn’t just that the naga had been there, which was impossible enough. He was starting to remember that he had…that he had allowed the warrior to be on top of him. Inside him.

No. That didn’t happen.

And that, at least, he could believe. The memory disappeared like smoke, and the snake chuckled.

“I sssssee that you have a powerful ssssensssse of sssself. It will be difficult to break you. Sssso, let me make you an offer, insssstead.”

“You could never offer me enough to surrender to you.”

“You may be sssurprissssed. But let ussss begin with the offer of ssssex and pleassssure.”

“I don’t want that.”

“I have yet to meet one that doessss not wissssh for ssssex.”

It didn’t help that the serpent reached down, clutching at his shaft. This time, Ako allowed it, keeping his head down and trying to ignore the delicate fingers that were slowly wrapping around his member, trying to keep his mind on anything but the way that they were rubbing him, teasing him, keeping him hard and making him stiffer by the second.

It didn’t help that the tail under him was slowly shifting, the scales along the coils slowly tickling the backs of his legs, almost like they were reminding him of how far he had fallen, how much he had given up. He was slowly getting trapped, and he wasn’t doing anything to fix that, or slow it down.

All he was doing was giving in, finding other ways to excuse what he was telling the snake, what weaknesses that he was revealing.

And the lord kept talking.

“You were enjoying your time with Heeni lassst night. I ssssmelled your sssscent upon him when he vissssited me thissss morning. You gave him much.”

“He took much.”

“He isss good at that.” The naga chuckled, hissing softly as his other hand cupped Ako’s shaved sac. “You would have your own harem under me, if you gave in. Would it be sssso bad, to sssubmit to my attentionssss in order to have a dozen more ssssubmit to yourssss?”

It was an offer, and it was one that any prince would contemplate, at least for a short time. The pleasure of a harem was one that many missed when they were away from home, and while he had yet to gain his, he had fantasized about what it would be like to have so many men and women competing for his attention.

At the same time, he was no fool. He knew that to give in for a mere harem would be to betray his principles, his honor. He would give up himself for pleasure? No.

As he shook his head, the naga was already laughing.

“I knew that would not tempt you, but I had to make the offer,” Lord Solem said. “After all, why give in when the chassse can prove ssssso much more enticing?”

“You speak in riddles.”

“I am a ssssnake. We sssspecialize in thosssse.”

The naga’s smirk was ever more dangerous, and he felt the coils pulling tighter, drawing him back to his feet. The naked human felt the slithering length of the great serpent rubbing against the backs of his legs, then the front, forcing him upright, pressing him against the powerful lord of the sands.

And then, he felt the slippery edge of the serpent’s cock slit. He could feel the twin shafts that were only just starting to emerge, the juices that were running out with them, the warmth that was just over the head of his cock. The feeling was so different, as was the feeling of two shafts pressing against him at once.

He struggled to keep his mouth shut, to keep from making the slightest sound, but it was almost impossible. The naga lord was making it difficult to focus, difficult to keep his head on straight, and it was only getting worse as the coils wrapped higher and higher around him, pinning his legs together, his arms nearly pinned to his sides before he pulled them up at the last second.

“What…what are you…”

“I am giving you my sssssecond offer. Comfort.”

The naga leaned in, Ako doing everything in his power to keep from looking into the great serpent’s eyes. He could feel the glow, the pressure, the power that came off of them, and he knew that it was only going to get harder to resist. Already, he had lost a chunk of his memory, a piece that he would have dismissed as inconsequential if it hadn’t been for the fact that he had been affected this much by it.

No, he had to focus on keeping himself exactly as he had been. He had to focus on who he was, who he had been, and who he needed to be.

He was Ako.

He was a prince.

He was a human.

And he was not a slave.

The naga twisted about him, soon looming overhead. Two hands cupped Ako’s cheeks, forcing him to look up, and the prince closed his eyes before they could stare at one another.

“Do you dissssbelieve me?”

“I don’t trust you.”

“You don’t? Why not…you have known me for sssso long…”

“I haven’t. I have not. I have not.”

“You remember me…”

The snake’s words pulled the memory forward again, and he was forced to see the first time once more. Him on his back, this time – something he could fight – and the naga coiled nearby…which he could not.

I did not know him. I did not!

And yet, the memory of the past told him that he did. That they had been together back then, that the naga had been part of the royal court and that he was part of the whole royal entourage. An advisor. A person from a far-off land that was allowed to teach the king and the prince what the rest of the world was like. Then had taken that teaching to something else, to show them what the rest of the world fucked like.

Ako fought against it, trying to hold himself together, trying to deny the memory. There was nothing that could be done. Nothing could erase it, nothing could get rid of it. And it kept trying to change the rest of his memory of that moment.

With a final wrench of his head, he ran from the naga, running naked down the hallway, his cheeks burning and his cock slowly rising. His feet slipped here and there, but he did not stop, even as the naga’s hissing chuckles chased him away.
